- Description: Bristlecone CEO Nirav Patel joins Clint to unpack the RISE philosophy, the four transitions reshaping our world, and why empowering others is the key to rising together as a company.
- Author: Clint Betts

# The transition comes for the man who named it

Nirav Patel was three years into his first CEO job when he laid out a framework on the CEO.com Podcast. The world, he said, was moving through four transitions. An AI transition. A green transition. A decoupling of supply chains. And a fourth he called the human transition.

"I say the word because this is beyond the supply chain, this is beyond one company's realm," Patel said.

He was running [Bristlecone](https://www.mahindra.com/news-room/press-release/en/bristlecone-a-mahindra-group-company-names-nirav-patel-as-president-and-chief-executive-officer?ref=ceo.com) at the time, the San Jose supply chain firm owned by India's Mahindra Group, and the framework was the kind of thing a CEO says on a podcast. Clean, four-part, easy to nod at.

Then he took a job that tests it.

Patel became president and CEO of Mastech Digital, the Pittsburgh digital transformation firm listed on the NYSE American, [effective January 6, 2025](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1437226/000119312524279042/d848286dex991.htm?ref=ceo.com). On the company's second quarter earnings call on August 6, he told analysts that enterprise customers are rotating budgets out of legacy systems and into AI, citing research from the analyst firm Zinnov suggesting as much as 30 percent of traditional IT spending could move. Asked about it later in the call, he said the numbers in circulation [run as high as 40 percent](https://www.fool.com/earnings/call-transcripts/2026/08/13/mastech-digital-mhh-q2-2026-earnings-call-transcript/?ref=ceo.com).

"Customers are really using that as a core mechanism to fund what I call their AI adoption and AI transitions," Patel said. "It's almost like a self-funding approach."

The quarter itself was mixed. Mastech's revenue [fell 15.6 percent year over year](https://investors.mastechdigital.com/news-releases/news-release-details/mastech-digital-reports-second-quarter-2026-results?ref=ceo.com) to $41.4 million. Its data and AI segment was down 14.4 percent from a year earlier but grew 7.2 percent from the prior quarter, the first sequential growth in that business since 2024, with quarterly bookings of about $13.5 million against $9 million a year ago. The talent segment, which places technology workers, fell 16.2 percent, driven by a 22.3 percent drop in billable consultants as a top 10 client kept insourcing work and the company deliberately exited lower-margin positions. Chief Financial and Operations Officer Kannan Sugantharaman [told analysts](https://www.fool.com/earnings/call-transcripts/2026/08/13/mastech-digital-mhh-q2-2026-earnings-call-transcript/?ref=ceo.com) that excluding the insourcing client, the talent decline would have been closer to three percent, and that both dynamics should persist for a few more quarters.

Patel spent the conversation describing forces that would eventually reach everyone. They have reached him, and now they arrive on a 90-day reporting cycle.

## Resilience, and the limits of prediction

Patel came to Bristlecone from Cognizant, where he was [senior vice president and global markets leader](https://www.mahindra.com/news-room/press-release/en/bristlecone-a-mahindra-group-company-names-nirav-patel-as-president-and-chief-executive-officer?ref=ceo.com) of the communications, media and technology business and helped scale it past $2 billion in annual revenue. Bristlecone's board named him president and CEO in July 2020, four months into the pandemic, at a company of more than 1,800 consultants. It had been founded in 1998 by a group of executives who knew SAP, and Mahindra [bought it in 2004](https://www.mahindra.com/our-business/technology-services/bristlecone?ref=ceo.com). By the time he left, [the workforce had grown past 3,000](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1437226/000119312524279042/d848286dex991.htm?ref=ceo.com).

The lesson he took from 2020 was not about logistics.

"Resiliency is a very, very interesting aspect of humans at large that we could learn," Patel said. "Not just the impact of what happened with the virus, but how we as humans really learned to stand back up, in my opinion, is the most and the biggest learning that we've taken."

He splits it in two. Human resiliency, then corporate resiliency, in that order.

"You can only do so much in predicting where the world and demand will be," Patel said. "We believe in that statement when we say that we thrive on change. Essentially we are saying that change is inevitable, it's going to happen no matter what you try to do to prevent it. I think what you can do is to build a level of resiliency within your organizations."

Supply chain used to be a function that succeeded by staying out of the news. Patel said that changed, and that clients now treat it as a competitive advantage rather than a cost center. He also said the modernization work underneath that shift is a decade-long project, not a purchase. He recounted asking a client CEO how he read a market with soft demand and high interest rates, and getting an answer he still repeats: it is not a question of whether the market comes back, it is a question of when. And when it does, the supply chain cannot break again.

## Responsible AI

"I'm a firm believer in AI," Patel said. "But I'm a firm believer in what I call responsible AI. Like all the pieces of technology, and all things in life, there's always a good side and a bad side."

His argument is that human pessimism is useful. People are fast at spotting flaws, the way they are fast at naming every red object in a room. He treats that speed as an asset rather than a drag, because a weakness you can name is a weakness you can contain, and containment is what lets the rest of the technology do its work.

"Never run away from knowing the weaknesses," Patel said. "Just take it with a little bit of clarity that it makes you a better person knowing the darker side of certain tech."

The fourth transition follows from that, and he has a second name for it.

"The other name I have for the human transition is called the attitude transitions," Patel said. "Transitions are going to happen no matter what, whether we are in it or not. But I think the question of the pace, as to how fast you can really get to that, is a factor of our attitude and how we believe we are going to play a role in those three transitions."

On climate, he draws a distinction that survives most of the argument around it.

"I don't think anybody disagrees that they hate the extreme weather that is impacting our world," Patel said. "Remember, politicization is in terms of how you solve it as against not agreeing on the problem. It's two different things."

## Rise

Patel has run his companies from Dallas while they were headquartered elsewhere, which gave him an early view of the hybrid question. He is unromantic about it. Companies will land in the middle, the split will vary by function, and the customer gets a vote.

"If 80 percent of my customers come and say, I need all of your teams to be in the office servicing me, I think we'll have no choice, we'll move it," Patel said.

What he is not casual about is Mahindra's Rise philosophy, which he cited as a reason he took the Bristlecone job in the first place.

"The Rise philosophy is really focused around the culture of how we think about empowering others, and letting others rise, and letting them achieve their outcomes," Patel said. "And it's only in letting others rise is we believe that we rise together as a company."

## The public company mindset

The line from the conversation that has aged most sharply came when Patel was asked what surprised him about being a CEO.

"To me, I think the greatest source of learning, particularly with my current role, is this idea of trying to run a private company with a public company mindset," he said. A public company answers to investors every 90 days, tested on its promises. A private one can lose that.

"You assume you have a little bit of space, and that takes you in a place which somewhat doesn't always drive the best performance," Patel said.

He is not simulating it anymore. At Mastech, he succeeded Vivek Gupta, who had led the company since 2016, and the board [credited Patel](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1437226/000119312524279042/d848286dex991.htm?ref=ceo.com) with building Bristlecone into the industry's largest pure-play supply chain services provider. Mahindra [named Lakshmanan Chidambaram](https://www.mahindra.com/news-room/press-release/en/lakshmanan-chidambaram-appointed-ceo-and-managing-director-of-bristlecone-a-mahindra-group-company?ref=ceo.com) as Bristlecone's CEO and managing director effective July 1, 2025.

His read of the new market is the four transitions applied to his own income statement. Enterprises are funding AI by defunding the legacy work that services firms have sold for 20 years. In the second quarter Mastech signed a US convenience store retailer, which Patel said on the call operates more than 10,000 stores globally, to deploy what the company [described](https://investors.mastechdigital.com/news-releases/news-release-details/mastech-digital-reports-second-quarter-2026-results?ref=ceo.com) as a production-grade agentic AI foundation for its consumer applications and store operations. On the call, Patel framed that foundation layer as where questions of trust, safety and governance live.

He also told analysts that the rotation favors firms his size, because Mastech was never built on the three- and five-year outsourcing contracts now facing compression. That is the bet. The quarterly numbers will settle it either way, in public, on schedule.

## Who took a chance

Every conversation on the CEO.com Podcast ends the same way, with the belief that the chances one gives are just as important as the chances one takes. Patel named three.

A manager in India named Mahesh made him a business unit head when he was working as a developer on projects. "I thought that was a little bit ahead of my own expectations," Patel said. Raj Mehta, then the CEO at Cognizant, later handed him multiple markets. And Mahindra gave a first-time CEO a company to run.

"You could almost never reflect back on your success without identifying those individuals," Patel said. "You need people to take chances on, and you should always be somebody encouraging of those as you're taking your success story forward."

00:00:37.644 --> 00:00:37.822
Yeah,<00:00:37.773> yeah.

00:00:37.887 --> 00:00:51.078
I<00:00:38.032> think,<00:00:38.858> look,<00:00:39.085> about<00:00:39.830> starting<00:00:40.332> and<00:00:40.462> I'll<00:00:40.672> talk<00:00:40.818> a<00:00:40.883> little<00:00:41.045> bit<00:00:41.142> about<00:00:41.433> the<00:00:41.466> starting,<00:00:42.000> you<00:00:42.032> know,<00:00:42.259> I<00:00:42.405> guess<00:00:44.672> this<00:00:44.850> is<00:00:45.417> my<00:00:45.660> first<00:00:45.790> time<00:00:46.310> CEO<00:00:46.880> gig<00:00:47.205> while<00:00:47.433> I've<00:00:47.677> been<00:00:47.856> in<00:00:47.937> the<00:00:48.003> industry<00:00:48.588> for<00:00:49.549> almost<00:00:50.297> 3<00:00:50.525> decades.

00:00:51.914 --> 00:00:59.826
This<00:00:52.074> is<00:00:52.138> the<00:00:52.218> first<00:00:52.507> time<00:00:52.796> that<00:00:52.941> I've<00:00:53.759> played<00:00:53.984> the<00:00:54.064> role<00:00:54.257> of<00:00:54.401> a<00:00:54.417> CEO,<00:00:54.818> and<00:00:54.915> I'll<00:00:55.123> say<00:00:55.444> that<00:00:55.701> it's<00:00:56.471> been<00:00:56.632> all<00:00:56.809> exciting<00:00:57.306> and<00:00:57.531> fun,<00:00:57.836> and<00:00:57.948> I<00:00:58.076> just<00:00:58.333> completed<00:00:58.815> my<00:00:59.039> third<00:00:59.280> anniversary.

00:01:01.238 --> 00:01:30.328
So<00:01:01.447> I<00:01:01.623> think,<00:01:01.784> you<00:01:01.864> know,<00:01:02.089> look,<00:01:02.731> this<00:01:03.052> whole<00:01:04.191> drive<00:01:04.673> and<00:01:04.833> passion<00:01:05.379> of<00:01:05.475> trying<00:01:05.796> to<00:01:06.197> do<00:01:06.358> business<00:01:06.759> building<00:01:07.080> has<00:01:07.626> always<00:01:07.963> been<00:01:08.123> something<00:01:08.524> that's<00:01:09.648> with<00:01:09.808> me<00:01:09.969> for<00:01:10.129> a<00:01:10.354> long<00:01:10.595> period<00:01:10.755> of<00:01:10.916> time,<00:01:11.317> and<00:01:12.039> I'm<00:01:12.376> pretty<00:01:12.601> excited<00:01:13.082> and<00:01:13.243> pleased<00:01:14.623> with<00:01:14.719> the<00:01:14.864> performance<00:01:15.265> so<00:01:15.506> far<00:01:16.148> and<00:01:16.228> the<00:01:16.388> way<00:01:16.613> we've<00:01:16.854> really<00:01:17.908> built<00:01:18.154> a<00:01:18.170> career<00:01:18.662> through<00:01:18.908> this,<00:01:19.154> and<00:01:19.318> more<00:01:19.417> importantly,<00:01:21.293> the<00:01:21.761> impact<00:01:22.180> we've<00:01:22.326> been<00:01:22.487> able<00:01:22.664> to<00:01:22.810> create<00:01:25.181> to<00:01:25.633> all<00:01:25.810> of<00:01:25.907> our<00:01:26.052> stakeholders,<00:01:27.020> our<00:01:27.569> employees,<00:01:28.182> our<00:01:28.230> customers,<00:01:28.956> and<00:01:29.037> the<00:01:29.118> communities<00:01:29.747> that<00:01:29.924> we<00:01:30.070> work<00:01:30.247> in.

00:01:32.134 --> 00:01:34.500
So<00:01:32.944> what's<00:01:33.187> the<00:01:33.268> history<00:01:33.690> of<00:01:33.819> Bristol-Connell?

00:01:34.889 --> 00:01:36.186
Am<00:01:35.035> I<00:01:35.132> saying<00:01:35.375> that<00:01:35.537> right,<00:01:35.781> by<00:01:35.878> the<00:01:36.007> way?

00:01:37.660 --> 00:01:38.795
Yeah,<00:01:38.033> yeah,<00:01:38.374> you<00:01:38.600> are.

00:01:39.492 --> 00:01:49.342
So<00:01:39.670> Bristol-Connell<00:01:41.015> has<00:01:41.210> a<00:01:41.340> very,<00:01:41.535> very<00:01:41.763> interesting<00:01:42.186> history<00:01:42.446> and<00:01:42.576> a<00:01:42.674> long<00:01:42.934> history,<00:01:43.796> and<00:01:43.975> coincidentally,<00:01:44.708> we<00:01:44.773> are<00:01:44.805> celebrating<00:01:45.440> our<00:01:45.521> 25th<00:01:46.774> 25th<00:01:47.384> anniversary<00:01:48.989> this<00:01:49.214> year.

00:01:50.048 --> 00:01:52.729
So<00:01:50.434> we've<00:01:50.594> been<00:01:50.819> around<00:01:51.156> in<00:01:51.317> the<00:01:51.381> industry<00:01:51.959> for<00:01:52.103> 25<00:01:52.521> years.

00:01:52.906 --> 00:02:03.854
And<00:01:53.708> for<00:01:53.965> businesses<00:01:55.153> as<00:01:56.373> like<00:01:56.598> ours<00:01:57.160> was<00:01:57.256> started<00:01:57.722> by<00:01:58.043> a<00:01:58.139> bunch<00:01:58.460> of<00:01:58.781> passionate<00:02:00.146> executives<00:02:01.173> that<00:02:02.537> worked<00:02:02.810> in<00:02:02.891> the<00:02:03.019> world<00:02:03.276> of<00:02:03.452> SAP.

00:02:04.945 --> 00:02:14.031
And<00:02:06.149> this<00:02:06.326> is<00:02:06.470> back<00:02:06.743> in<00:02:08.027> '98<00:02:10.018> that<00:02:10.259> they<00:02:10.339> decided<00:02:10.885> to<00:02:10.981> come<00:02:11.158> out<00:02:11.463> and<00:02:12.024> start<00:02:12.426> this<00:02:12.907> Silicon<00:02:13.373> Valley<00:02:13.630> startup.

00:02:14.593 --> 00:02:21.775
And<00:02:14.770> so<00:02:15.075> we<00:02:15.156> continue<00:02:15.622> to<00:02:15.718> be<00:02:15.782> even<00:02:16.120> today<00:02:16.361> headquartered<00:02:17.710> out<00:02:17.871> of<00:02:18.209> San<00:02:18.450> Jose<00:02:19.719> while,<00:02:20.201> while<00:02:20.362> I'm<00:02:20.458> personally<00:02:20.924> based<00:02:21.165> out<00:02:21.261> of<00:02:21.406> Dallas.

00:02:22.386 --> 00:02:26.017
But<00:02:22.531> I<00:02:22.691> think<00:02:23.896> that's<00:02:24.073> where<00:02:24.234> we<00:02:24.330> started<00:02:24.812> as<00:02:24.925> a<00:02:24.957> Silicon<00:02:25.359> Valley<00:02:25.600> startup.

00:02:26.146 --> 00:02:29.520
And<00:02:27.367> the<00:02:27.528> journey<00:02:27.865> since<00:02:28.170> then<00:02:28.395> has<00:02:28.572> been<00:02:28.733> fantastic.

00:02:30.179 --> 00:02:31.657
We<00:02:30.259> are<00:02:30.339> over<00:02:30.677> 2,800<00:02:31.304> people.

00:02:32.975 --> 00:02:52.840
It's<00:02:33.151> in<00:02:33.312> '94<00:02:33.939> that<00:02:34.678> the<00:02:34.758> Mahindra<00:02:35.240> Group<00:02:35.561> decided<00:02:36.059> to<00:02:36.525> buy<00:02:36.766> this<00:02:36.991> asset<00:02:37.409> because<00:02:37.795> the<00:02:37.875> value<00:02:38.437> and<00:02:38.550> the<00:02:38.678> passion<00:02:39.016> that<00:02:39.257> we<00:02:39.337> saw<00:02:39.659> clearly<00:02:40.783> we<00:02:40.944> thought<00:02:41.185> we<00:02:41.330> could<00:02:41.812> meaningfully<00:02:42.310> create<00:02:43.499> a<00:02:43.515> huge<00:02:43.836> impact,<00:02:44.463> not<00:02:44.639> just<00:02:44.864> within<00:02:45.041> the<00:02:45.186> Mahindra<00:02:45.459> Group,<00:02:45.844> but,<00:02:47.773> but<00:02:48.174> for<00:02:48.335> the<00:02:48.431> industry<00:02:49.042> in<00:02:49.138> terms<00:02:49.460> of<00:02:49.604> how<00:02:49.910> the<00:02:49.958> supply<00:02:50.411> chain<00:02:51.707> could<00:02:51.869> have<00:02:52.063> its<00:02:52.274> own<00:02:52.387> space.

00:02:53.407 --> 00:03:05.720
And<00:02:53.585> long<00:02:53.909> until<00:02:54.557> COVID<00:02:54.945> was<00:02:55.221> hit<00:02:55.431> is<00:02:55.593> when<00:02:55.755> we<00:02:55.852> realized<00:02:56.419> the<00:02:56.516> impact<00:02:56.905> and<00:02:56.986> the<00:02:57.147> value,<00:02:57.876> because<00:02:59.486> we<00:02:59.711> are—<00:03:00.032> we<00:03:00.193> can't<00:03:00.370> be<00:03:00.530> more<00:03:00.788> excited<00:03:01.270> about<00:03:01.639> playing<00:03:01.896> in<00:03:01.976> the<00:03:02.121> world<00:03:02.314> of<00:03:02.442> supply<00:03:02.780> chain<00:03:03.021> and<00:03:03.101> digital<00:03:04.547> in<00:03:04.691> helping<00:03:05.029> a<00:03:05.045> lot<00:03:05.206> of<00:03:05.286> our<00:03:05.430> clients.

00:03:05.768 --> 00:03:09.924
So<00:03:05.929> that's<00:03:06.218> a<00:03:06.234> little<00:03:06.394> bit<00:03:06.555> of<00:03:06.700> our<00:03:06.860> history<00:03:07.262> in<00:03:07.358> terms<00:03:07.599> of<00:03:07.744> how<00:03:09.265> we<00:03:09.410> came<00:03:09.603> about.

00:03:42.870 --> 00:03:43.081
Absolutely.

00:03:43.129 --> 00:03:54.601
You<00:03:43.162> know,<00:03:43.308> that<00:03:43.454> was<00:03:43.617> one<00:03:43.730> of<00:03:43.860> the<00:03:43.958> biggest<00:03:44.607> factors,<00:03:46.459> what<00:03:46.637> drove<00:03:47.027> me<00:03:48.082> personally<00:03:49.317> towards<00:03:50.112> a<00:03:50.194> culture<00:03:50.778> that<00:03:51.184> believed<00:03:51.897> in<00:03:53.694> the<00:03:53.792> RISE<00:03:54.099> philosophy.

00:03:54.666 --> 00:04:09.996
And<00:03:54.747> the<00:03:54.828> RISE<00:03:55.071> philosophy<00:03:55.557> is<00:03:55.962> really,<00:03:58.819> you<00:03:58.899> know,<00:03:59.061> focused<00:03:59.545> around<00:04:00.045> the<00:04:00.271> culture<00:04:00.835> of<00:04:01.013> how<00:04:01.335> we<00:04:01.561> think<00:04:01.755> about<00:04:02.883> empowering<00:04:03.510> others<00:04:04.569> and<00:04:04.730> letting<00:04:05.051> others<00:04:05.452> rise<00:04:06.159> and<00:04:06.801> letting<00:04:07.058> them<00:04:07.861> achieve<00:04:09.226> their<00:04:09.450> outcomes.

00:04:10.896 --> 00:04:16.660
And<00:04:11.008> it's<00:04:11.217> only<00:04:11.698> in<00:04:12.517> letting<00:04:12.903> others<00:04:13.256> rise<00:04:14.364> is<00:04:14.589> we<00:04:14.685> believe<00:04:15.086> that<00:04:15.247> we<00:04:15.424> rise<00:04:15.729> together<00:04:16.130> as<00:04:16.226> a<00:04:16.355> company.

00:04:16.708 --> 00:04:21.605
So<00:04:16.917> I<00:04:16.997> think<00:04:17.174> we've,<00:04:17.977> we've<00:04:18.121> been<00:04:18.282> extremely<00:04:19.903> passionate<00:04:20.401> about<00:04:20.690> our<00:04:20.786> RISE<00:04:21.092> philosophy.

00:04:46.558 --> 00:04:57.832
Being<00:04:46.802> so<00:04:47.045> involved<00:04:47.693> in<00:04:47.856> supply<00:04:48.423> chain<00:04:49.380> and,<00:04:49.964> you<00:04:50.061> know,<00:04:51.099> digital<00:04:51.731> enterprises<00:04:52.623> and<00:04:52.947> things<00:04:53.142> like<00:04:53.352> that,<00:04:54.018> must<00:04:54.357> have<00:04:54.519> been<00:04:55.020> fascinating<00:04:56.377> during<00:04:57.008> the<00:04:57.105> pandemic.

What<00:04:58.381> did<00:04:58.494> you<00:04:58.785> learn<00:04:59.044> during<00:04:59.351> the<00:04:59.448> pandemic?

00:05:01.760 --> 00:05:13.913
Well,<00:05:01.856> I<00:05:01.872> think<00:05:02.274> first<00:05:02.676> is,<00:05:03.238> you<00:05:03.334> know,<00:05:03.559> resiliency<00:05:04.443> is<00:05:04.668> one<00:05:04.845> thing<00:05:05.167> that<00:05:05.649> I<00:05:05.793> would<00:05:05.906> say<00:05:06.436> was,<00:05:08.059> was<00:05:08.606> a<00:05:10.293> very,<00:05:10.615> very<00:05:10.840> interesting<00:05:11.584> aspect<00:05:12.069> of<00:05:12.392> humans<00:05:12.813> at<00:05:12.974> large<00:05:13.233> that<00:05:13.379> we<00:05:13.524> could<00:05:13.702> learn.

00:05:14.010 --> 00:05:33.167
You<00:05:14.042> know,<00:05:14.171> I<00:05:14.430> actually<00:05:14.818> feel<00:05:16.371> it's,<00:05:16.872> it's,<00:05:17.665> it's<00:05:17.908> the<00:05:18.312> not<00:05:19.040> just<00:05:19.201> the<00:05:19.363> impact<00:05:19.848> of<00:05:19.994> what<00:05:20.140> happened<00:05:20.775> with<00:05:21.015> the<00:05:21.119> virus,<00:05:22.554> But<00:05:23.517> how<00:05:23.999> we<00:05:24.304> as<00:05:24.545> humans<00:05:25.187> really<00:05:25.588> learned<00:05:26.648> to<00:05:26.744> stand<00:05:27.130> back<00:05:27.515> up,<00:05:28.639> in<00:05:28.800> my<00:05:29.040> opinion,<00:05:29.683> is<00:05:30.004> the<00:05:30.036> most,<00:05:30.502> uh,<00:05:31.064> and<00:05:31.160> the<00:05:31.304> biggest<00:05:31.690> learning,<00:05:32.412> uh,<00:05:32.573> that<00:05:32.750> we've<00:05:32.894> taken.

00:05:33.938 --> 00:06:04.240
And<00:05:35.399> we<00:05:35.559> did<00:05:35.736> not<00:05:36.025> expect<00:05:36.603> that<00:05:36.764> supply<00:05:37.245> chain<00:05:38.851> would<00:05:39.076> be,<00:05:40.280> uh,<00:05:40.457> a<00:05:40.521> little<00:05:40.762> bit<00:05:40.858> of<00:05:41.019> a<00:05:41.099> consequence<00:05:41.805> of<00:05:41.902> what<00:05:42.062> happened<00:05:42.384> in<00:05:42.544> COVID,<00:05:42.945> because<00:05:43.813> when<00:05:43.973> it<00:05:44.069> comes<00:05:44.310> to<00:05:44.455> commercial<00:05:45.017> world,<00:05:45.515> we<00:05:45.675> realized<00:05:46.221> and<00:05:46.317> saw<00:05:46.799> that<00:05:48.091> most<00:05:48.430> products<00:05:48.980> as<00:05:49.158> they<00:05:49.384> came<00:05:49.869> out<00:05:50.047> of<00:05:51.728> the<00:05:51.825> COVID<00:05:52.229> play,<00:05:52.714> that<00:05:52.956> the<00:05:53.102> demand<00:05:53.506> really<00:05:53.781> spiked<00:05:54.395> and<00:05:55.882> supply<00:05:56.270> chain<00:05:56.513> took<00:05:56.690> a<00:05:56.755> little<00:05:56.981> bit<00:05:57.078> of<00:05:57.175> a<00:05:57.370> toll<00:05:57.635> in<00:05:57.734> terms<00:05:58.049> of<00:05:58.231> not<00:05:59.059> being<00:05:59.374> able<00:05:59.639> to<00:06:01.425> have<00:06:01.733> the<00:06:01.830> products<00:06:02.299> be<00:06:02.460> available<00:06:02.962> at<00:06:03.124> the<00:06:03.188> right<00:06:03.302> place,<00:06:03.722> right<00:06:03.916> time.

00:06:04.967 --> 00:06:12.551
And<00:06:05.372> most<00:06:06.585> organizations<00:06:07.264> started<00:06:07.652> to<00:06:07.814> really<00:06:08.946> look<00:06:09.253> at<00:06:09.836> the<00:06:09.998> weaknesses<00:06:10.468> that<00:06:10.632> existed<00:06:11.206> in<00:06:11.304> the<00:06:11.386> system<00:06:11.878> and<00:06:11.977> supply<00:06:12.370> chain.

00:06:12.616 --> 00:06:18.274
So<00:06:12.780> to<00:06:12.862> me,<00:06:13.272> I<00:06:13.436> think<00:06:14.268> two<00:06:14.492> big—<00:06:15.117> I<00:06:15.213> call<00:06:15.999> human<00:06:16.255> resiliency<00:06:17.136> and<00:06:17.297> corporate<00:06:17.697> resiliency.

00:06:18.338 --> 00:06:28.049
And<00:06:18.482> corporate<00:06:18.803> resiliency,<00:06:19.380> by<00:06:19.860> way<00:06:20.325> of<00:06:20.437> saying<00:06:20.966> it,<00:06:21.206> is<00:06:21.383> essentially<00:06:23.386> that<00:06:23.706> you<00:06:23.866> can<00:06:24.027> only<00:06:24.347> do<00:06:24.443> so<00:06:24.764> much<00:06:25.789> in<00:06:26.014> predicting<00:06:26.591> where<00:06:26.831> the<00:06:26.991> world<00:06:27.296> and<00:06:27.392> demand<00:06:27.792> will<00:06:27.953> be.

00:06:28.994 --> 00:06:41.366
But<00:06:29.315> what<00:06:29.619> you<00:06:29.875> can<00:06:30.276> do<00:06:30.516> for<00:06:30.677> sure<00:06:31.943> is<00:06:32.039> that<00:06:32.279> if<00:06:32.423> you<00:06:32.584> do<00:06:32.760> get<00:06:33.000> knocked<00:06:33.305> down—<00:06:33.882> and<00:06:34.122> we<00:06:34.266> believe<00:06:34.587> in<00:06:34.683> that<00:06:34.859> statement<00:06:36.029> when<00:06:36.189> we<00:06:36.285> say<00:06:36.606> that<00:06:36.766> thrive<00:06:37.150> on<00:06:37.327> change—<00:06:38.352> essentially<00:06:38.769> we<00:06:38.929> are<00:06:38.961> saying<00:06:39.394> that<00:06:39.570> change<00:06:39.891> is<00:06:40.692> inevitable.

00:06:41.815 --> 00:06:45.279
It's<00:06:41.911> going<00:06:42.007> to<00:06:42.135> happen<00:06:43.258> no<00:06:43.354> matter<00:06:43.659> what<00:06:43.819> you<00:06:43.899> try<00:06:44.140> to<00:06:44.220> do<00:06:44.461> to<00:06:44.621> prevent<00:06:45.086> it.

00:06:45.583 --> 00:07:00.787
I<00:06:45.664> think<00:06:45.824> what<00:06:46.129> you<00:06:46.369> can<00:06:46.706> do<00:06:47.604> is<00:06:47.748> to<00:06:47.909> build<00:06:48.165> a<00:06:48.230> level<00:06:48.470> of<00:06:48.550> resiliency<00:06:50.314> within<00:06:50.555> your<00:06:50.715> organizations,<00:06:52.223> as<00:06:52.383> I<00:06:52.544> believe<00:06:52.961> humans<00:06:53.281> have<00:06:53.506> now<00:06:53.763> built<00:06:54.645> a<00:06:54.725> very<00:06:54.901> strong<00:06:55.286> sense<00:06:55.527> of<00:06:55.607> resiliency<00:06:57.371> to<00:06:57.708> sort<00:06:57.932> of<00:06:58.012> fight<00:06:58.397> back<00:06:59.761> with<00:07:00.001> everything<00:07:00.338> that's<00:07:00.562> happened.

00:07:00.835 --> 00:07:07.042
So<00:07:00.979> to<00:07:01.076> me,<00:07:01.701> there's<00:07:01.861> a<00:07:01.878> lot<00:07:02.086> of<00:07:02.182> parallel<00:07:02.744> with<00:07:02.904> what<00:07:03.048> happened<00:07:03.385> with<00:07:03.610> humans<00:07:04.027> in<00:07:04.508> post-COVID<00:07:06.512> mindset.

00:07:07.298 --> 00:07:14.530
And<00:07:07.459> I<00:07:07.555> think<00:07:07.779> the<00:07:07.811> same<00:07:08.116> mindset<00:07:08.517> exists<00:07:08.902> right<00:07:09.078> now<00:07:09.255> in<00:07:09.399> corporate<00:07:09.880> where<00:07:10.827> resiliency<00:07:11.390> becomes<00:07:11.648> the<00:07:11.728> number<00:07:12.034> one<00:07:12.131> priority<00:07:13.805> over<00:07:13.966> everything<00:07:14.304> else.

00:07:15.496 --> 00:07:21.534
How<00:07:15.673> resilient<00:07:16.220> do<00:07:16.301> you<00:07:16.462> think<00:07:16.639> the<00:07:16.736> supply<00:07:17.283> chain<00:07:17.605> is<00:07:17.847> now,<00:07:18.491> just<00:07:18.732> generally,<00:07:19.199> and<00:07:19.280> how<00:07:19.457> resilient<00:07:20.004> do<00:07:20.036> you<00:07:20.230> think<00:07:20.348> organizations<00:07:21.026> are<00:07:21.195> post-COVID?

00:07:23.430 --> 00:07:25.479
I<00:07:23.510> think,<00:07:23.768> you<00:07:23.930> know,<00:07:24.188> look,<00:07:24.511> this<00:07:24.753> is<00:07:24.979> a<00:07:25.156> journey.

00:07:25.640 --> 00:07:37.062
And<00:07:25.721> I<00:07:25.882> think<00:07:26.189> I<00:07:26.205> keep<00:07:26.512> saying<00:07:27.173> this<00:07:27.351> to<00:07:27.577> a<00:07:27.593> lot<00:07:27.803> of<00:07:27.899> our<00:07:28.045> clients<00:07:28.480> that<00:07:30.062> when<00:07:30.223> you<00:07:31.917> hit<00:07:32.660> upon<00:07:32.902> a<00:07:32.983> problem,<00:07:34.592> you<00:07:34.771> realize<00:07:35.323> you<00:07:35.421> start<00:07:35.746> to<00:07:35.892> look<00:07:36.136> at<00:07:36.298> how<00:07:36.461> to<00:07:36.558> prevent<00:07:37.030> it.

00:07:37.143 --> 00:07:43.876
It's<00:07:37.355> like<00:07:37.533> one<00:07:37.680> of<00:07:37.777> the<00:07:38.534> the<00:07:38.632> CEOs,<00:07:40.320> our<00:07:40.808> customer<00:07:41.295> CEOs<00:07:42.025> recently<00:07:42.431> told<00:07:42.675> me<00:07:42.837> one<00:07:43.081> point<00:07:43.243> which<00:07:43.389> was<00:07:43.568> brilliant.

00:07:43.974 --> 00:07:55.456
And<00:07:44.055> he<00:07:44.152> says,<00:07:45.376> I<00:07:45.473> said<00:07:46.344> to<00:07:46.441> him,<00:07:46.764> saying,<00:07:48.313> Mark,<00:07:48.700> how<00:07:48.862> do<00:07:48.926> you<00:07:49.184> really<00:07:51.346> look<00:07:51.524> at<00:07:51.701> this<00:07:51.927> market<00:07:52.266> environment<00:07:53.202> where<00:07:53.250> there's<00:07:53.525> a<00:07:53.541> softness<00:07:54.751> in<00:07:54.800> the<00:07:54.931> demand?

00:07:57.059 --> 00:08:02.129
Interest<00:07:57.382> rates<00:07:57.704> are<00:07:58.948> significantly<00:07:59.658> high,<00:08:00.288> trying<00:08:00.546> to<00:08:00.627> contain<00:08:01.515> inflation.

00:08:03.275 --> 00:08:06.096
And<00:08:03.921> what<00:08:04.034> does<00:08:04.244> this<00:08:04.486> mean<00:08:05.229> to<00:08:05.374> your<00:08:05.536> organization?

00:08:06.195 --> 00:08:13.427
And<00:08:06.854> he<00:08:07.018> gave<00:08:07.134> me<00:08:07.282> a<00:08:07.364> brilliant<00:08:07.759> answer<00:08:07.990> and<00:08:08.072> he<00:08:08.105> said<00:08:08.155> that<00:08:09.413> It's<00:08:09.894> not<00:08:10.135> the<00:08:10.216> question<00:08:10.697> of<00:08:11.163> if,<00:08:11.355> it's<00:08:11.516> a<00:08:11.580> question<00:08:11.966> of<00:08:12.062> when<00:08:12.303> the<00:08:12.447> markets<00:08:12.929> bounce<00:08:13.266> back.

00:08:13.892 --> 00:08:23.493
And<00:08:14.133> the<00:08:14.213> level<00:08:14.470> of<00:08:14.615> confidence<00:08:15.032> that<00:08:15.273> he<00:08:15.498> had<00:08:15.755> was<00:08:16.076> to<00:08:16.156> say<00:08:16.397> that<00:08:16.622> we<00:08:16.734> know<00:08:16.975> for<00:08:17.184> sure<00:08:18.404> that<00:08:18.564> the<00:08:18.661> markets<00:08:19.062> are<00:08:19.126> going<00:08:19.239> to<00:08:19.367> get<00:08:19.672> better<00:08:20.154> and<00:08:20.475> the<00:08:20.555> demand<00:08:20.957> environment<00:08:21.390> is<00:08:21.535> going<00:08:21.631> to<00:08:22.578> come<00:08:22.964> out<00:08:23.140> better.

00:08:24.344 --> 00:08:34.909
But<00:08:24.890> one<00:08:25.051> of<00:08:25.211> the<00:08:25.308> things<00:08:25.549> we<00:08:25.693> want<00:08:25.854> to<00:08:26.014> learn<00:08:26.496> from<00:08:26.753> what<00:08:26.978> happened<00:08:27.395> in<00:08:27.539> the<00:08:27.636> post-COVID,<00:08:28.519> I<00:08:28.599> call<00:08:28.824> the<00:08:28.904> revenge<00:08:29.402> phase,<00:08:29.900> where<00:08:30.108> the<00:08:30.189> spending<00:08:30.606> really<00:08:31.007> spiked<00:08:31.473> up,<00:08:32.436> is<00:08:33.014> I<00:08:33.095> don't<00:08:33.416> want<00:08:33.673> supply<00:08:34.122> chain<00:08:34.299> to<00:08:34.459> break<00:08:34.716> again.

00:08:35.812 --> 00:08:42.230
And<00:08:35.909> so<00:08:36.136> one<00:08:36.249> of<00:08:36.330> the<00:08:36.459> biggest<00:08:37.768> input<00:08:38.172> for<00:08:38.399> him,<00:08:38.900> from<00:08:39.142> him,<00:08:39.627> was,<00:08:40.581> I<00:08:40.662> want<00:08:40.743> to<00:08:40.840> prioritize<00:08:41.470> his<00:08:41.583> supply<00:08:41.971> chain.

00:08:42.295 --> 00:08:45.591
I<00:08:42.375> want<00:08:42.521> to<00:08:42.602> really<00:08:42.925> make<00:08:43.022> sure<00:08:43.426> that<00:08:44.412> my<00:08:44.655> supply<00:08:44.930> chain<00:08:45.220> is<00:08:45.349> resilient.

00:08:46.156 --> 00:09:07.553
Now,<00:08:46.269> to<00:08:46.479> answer<00:08:46.672> your<00:08:46.801> question,<00:08:48.350> while<00:08:48.657> they<00:08:48.754> feel<00:08:49.157> confident<00:08:49.802> that<00:08:51.335> they<00:08:51.432> will<00:08:51.658> not<00:08:51.900> be<00:08:52.061> able<00:08:52.303> to<00:08:54.320> get<00:08:54.498> knocked<00:08:54.791> down<00:08:55.051> by<00:08:55.311> supply<00:08:55.701> chain<00:08:55.945> issues,<00:08:57.245> they<00:08:57.310> are<00:08:57.553> equally<00:08:57.976> aware<00:08:58.528> of<00:08:59.260> the<00:08:59.341> systemic<00:08:59.942> issues<00:09:00.316> that<00:09:00.478> exist<00:09:01.356> in<00:09:01.693> how<00:09:02.496> the<00:09:02.560> supply<00:09:02.978> chain<00:09:03.202> system<00:09:03.604> had<00:09:03.780> been<00:09:04.005> left<00:09:04.808> out<00:09:05.627> in<00:09:05.707> the<00:09:05.852> legacy<00:09:06.189> environment<00:09:06.831> for<00:09:06.911> such<00:09:07.168> a<00:09:07.232> long<00:09:07.409> time.

00:09:08.212 --> 00:09:15.100
So<00:09:08.356> clearly<00:09:08.758> they<00:09:08.918> understand<00:09:09.544> the<00:09:09.721> modernization<00:09:10.620> of<00:09:10.749> supply<00:09:11.150> chain<00:09:12.274> is<00:09:13.157> a<00:09:13.173> many-year,<00:09:13.960> probably<00:09:14.313> a<00:09:14.442> decade's<00:09:14.923> journey.

00:09:16.208 --> 00:09:22.887
And<00:09:16.850> so<00:09:17.187> you<00:09:17.412> are<00:09:17.572> going<00:09:17.749> to<00:09:17.894> constantly<00:09:18.552> prioritize<00:09:19.290> investments<00:09:19.917> in<00:09:19.997> the<00:09:20.077> supply<00:09:20.463> chain<00:09:20.703> area<00:09:20.960> to<00:09:21.121> modernize<00:09:21.667> your<00:09:22.566> estate.

00:09:23.128 --> 00:09:44.258
And<00:09:23.208> whether<00:09:23.449> that<00:09:23.674> means<00:09:24.814> building<00:09:25.199> new<00:09:25.536> ERP<00:09:25.873> systems,<00:09:27.383> installing<00:09:28.089> new<00:09:28.266> systems<00:09:28.812> of<00:09:28.908> visibility,<00:09:30.337> taking<00:09:30.851> advantage<00:09:31.879> of<00:09:32.681> the<00:09:32.826> cool<00:09:33.147> new<00:09:33.324> technologies<00:09:34.110> of<00:09:34.223> the<00:09:34.512> AI,<00:09:35.010> the<00:09:35.170> generative<00:09:35.652> AI,<00:09:35.973> as<00:09:36.198> well<00:09:36.374> as<00:09:36.535> the<00:09:36.936> IoTs,<00:09:37.884> which<00:09:38.060> increases<00:09:39.441> sort<00:09:39.650> of<00:09:39.762> an<00:09:39.891> awareness<00:09:40.485> of<00:09:40.629> your<00:09:40.870> network<00:09:41.818> and<00:09:42.235> where<00:09:42.476> your<00:09:42.637> supply<00:09:43.022> chain<00:09:43.359> really<00:09:43.664> operates<00:09:44.082> today.

00:09:44.467 --> 00:09:47.743
So<00:09:44.949> to<00:09:45.045> me,<00:09:45.350> I<00:09:45.446> feel<00:09:46.490> we<00:09:46.554> are<00:09:46.586> still<00:09:46.892> in<00:09:46.972> very<00:09:47.293> early<00:09:47.534> days.

00:09:47.999 --> 00:10:18.849
The<00:09:48.080> most<00:09:48.353> recent,<00:09:48.963> one<00:09:49.621> of<00:09:49.782> the<00:09:49.846> most<00:09:50.328> recent<00:09:50.745> McKinsey<00:09:51.147> surveys<00:09:51.548> says<00:09:51.949> that<00:09:53.137> that<00:09:54.740> 80%<00:09:55.156> of<00:09:55.782> supply<00:09:56.262> chain<00:09:56.455> systems<00:09:57.401> will<00:09:57.561> be<00:09:57.865> AI-led<00:09:59.308> in<00:09:59.404> the<00:09:59.485> next<00:09:59.789> 3<00:09:59.949> years<00:10:01.392> compared<00:10:01.809> to<00:10:02.033> 30%<00:10:02.370> predicted<00:10:04.197> just<00:10:04.374> before<00:10:04.758> COVID<00:10:05.336> So<00:10:05.480> you<00:10:05.576> can<00:10:05.736> see<00:10:06.041> how<00:10:06.281> COVID<00:10:06.554> has<00:10:06.858> really<00:10:07.339> accelerated<00:10:09.343> the<00:10:09.423> digital<00:10:09.824> adoption<00:10:10.545> and<00:10:10.706> that,<00:10:12.309> you<00:10:12.389> know,<00:10:12.533> increasingly<00:10:13.190> customers<00:10:13.815> are<00:10:13.848> prioritizing<00:10:14.697> AI<00:10:15.034> and<00:10:15.130> supply<00:10:15.579> chain<00:10:16.861> to<00:10:16.957> be<00:10:17.118> their<00:10:17.294> number<00:10:17.599> one<00:10:18.079> priorities.

00:10:19.283 --> 00:10:30.644
To<00:10:19.509> really<00:10:21.627> make<00:10:21.788> sure<00:10:22.273> that<00:10:23.324> their<00:10:23.550> journey<00:10:23.971> of<00:10:24.213> modernization<00:10:25.021> continues<00:10:26.379> and<00:10:26.476> that<00:10:26.638> they<00:10:26.783> lead<00:10:28.093> and<00:10:28.254> make<00:10:28.416> supply<00:10:28.820> chain<00:10:28.982> a<00:10:29.127> little<00:10:29.240> bit<00:10:29.385> of<00:10:29.482> a<00:10:29.547> competitive<00:10:30.111> advantage.

00:10:30.902 --> 00:10:41.250
You<00:10:30.934> know,<00:10:31.079> in<00:10:31.225> the<00:10:31.386> past,<00:10:31.644> supply<00:10:31.951> chain<00:10:32.193> was<00:10:32.435> like<00:10:33.403> do<00:10:33.564> no<00:10:33.806> harm<00:10:34.145> approach,<00:10:34.613> saying,<00:10:35.355> you<00:10:35.436> know,<00:10:35.597> let<00:10:35.823> it<00:10:35.985> continue<00:10:36.485> and<00:10:36.646> make<00:10:36.727> sure<00:10:37.130> that<00:10:38.260> we<00:10:38.405> get<00:10:38.470> the<00:10:38.583> products<00:10:39.132> and<00:10:39.617> on-time<00:10:39.876> deliveries<00:10:40.684> as<00:10:40.830> we<00:10:40.911> expect.

00:10:41.962 --> 00:10:49.078
But<00:10:42.139> today,<00:10:42.382> I<00:10:42.544> think<00:10:42.705> increasingly<00:10:44.063> customers<00:10:44.548> think<00:10:44.726> of<00:10:44.807> supply<00:10:45.195> chain<00:10:45.454> as<00:10:46.019> a<00:10:46.036> strategic<00:10:46.585> priority<00:10:47.135> and<00:10:47.232> make<00:10:47.394> sure<00:10:47.652> that<00:10:47.862> that<00:10:48.121> is<00:10:48.170> a<00:10:48.276> competitive<00:10:48.740> advantage.

00:10:51.774 --> 00:11:01.356
I<00:10:52.095> mean,<00:10:52.335> and<00:10:52.479> using<00:10:52.816> Bristol-Myers<00:10:53.809> Squibb,<00:10:54.162> I'm<00:10:54.562> sure<00:10:54.739> that<00:10:54.883> they<00:10:55.043> can<00:10:55.203> control<00:10:55.796> supply<00:10:56.261> chain<00:10:56.501> a<00:10:56.517> lot<00:10:56.822> better,<00:10:57.142> but<00:10:57.302> I<00:10:57.447> wonder<00:10:57.687> like<00:10:57.863> how<00:10:58.088> often<00:10:58.280> are<00:10:58.408> you<00:10:58.568> thinking<00:10:58.969> of<00:10:59.081> like<00:10:59.850> geopolitical<00:11:00.811> issues?

00:11:01.452 --> 00:11:04.849
How<00:11:01.933> often<00:11:02.125> are<00:11:02.254> you,<00:11:02.510> are<00:11:02.814> like<00:11:02.991> people<00:11:03.295> asking<00:11:03.696> you<00:11:03.856> these<00:11:04.032> types<00:11:04.272> of<00:11:04.337> questions?

00:11:05.234 --> 00:11:17.315
How<00:11:05.410> much<00:11:05.715> of<00:11:05.795> supply<00:11:06.339> chain<00:11:06.676> can<00:11:06.900> you<00:11:07.637> really<00:11:08.118> control<00:11:09.304> given<00:11:09.560> like,<00:11:09.800> I<00:11:09.816> mean,<00:11:10.041> you,<00:11:10.281> for<00:11:10.425> some<00:11:10.586> reason<00:11:11.066> you<00:11:11.243> probably<00:11:11.723> are<00:11:11.867> thinking<00:11:12.188> like,<00:11:12.364> hey,<00:11:13.149> about<00:11:13.390> the<00:11:13.550> war<00:11:13.726> in<00:11:13.822> Ukraine<00:11:14.607> or<00:11:14.848> China<00:11:15.232> and<00:11:15.328> Taiwan,<00:11:15.873> like<00:11:16.033> all<00:11:16.210> these<00:11:16.370> types<00:11:16.610> of<00:11:16.674> things,<00:11:16.995> right?

00:11:17.719 --> 00:11:21.347
And<00:11:17.832> you're<00:11:17.978> running<00:11:18.302> a<00:11:18.545> company,<00:11:19.112> but<00:11:19.273> you<00:11:19.419> also<00:11:19.678> got<00:11:19.759> to<00:11:19.840> think<00:11:20.018> about<00:11:20.261> these<00:11:20.488> geopolitical<00:11:21.136> issues.

00:11:27.669 --> 00:11:28.942
Well,<00:11:27.927> Clint,<00:11:28.152> that's<00:11:28.330> a<00:11:28.346> great<00:11:28.571> question.

00:11:29.280 --> 00:11:38.228
And<00:11:29.377> I<00:11:29.538> think,<00:11:29.683> you<00:11:29.812> know,<00:11:30.021> I'm<00:11:30.182> going<00:11:30.295> to<00:11:30.505> answer<00:11:30.811> it<00:11:31.471> the<00:11:31.616> way<00:11:31.858> I<00:11:32.019> have<00:11:32.180> answered<00:11:33.179> to<00:11:33.308> many<00:11:33.566> of<00:11:33.727> my<00:11:35.165> work<00:11:35.343> colleagues<00:11:35.813> that<00:11:35.992> they've<00:11:36.219> asked<00:11:36.478> me<00:11:36.575> about,<00:11:37.029> you<00:11:37.061> know,<00:11:37.207> what's<00:11:37.450> my<00:11:37.677> view<00:11:37.839> of<00:11:37.937> the<00:11:38.083> world.

00:11:38.731 --> 00:11:43.951
I<00:11:38.828> think<00:11:38.974> the<00:11:39.071> world<00:11:39.379> is<00:11:40.514> going<00:11:40.935> through<00:11:41.114> 4<00:11:43.132> big<00:11:43.293> transitions.

00:11:45.285 --> 00:11:51.182
And<00:11:45.366> I<00:11:45.462> say<00:11:45.639> the<00:11:45.848> word<00:11:46.105> because<00:11:46.571> this<00:11:46.747> is<00:11:46.828> beyond<00:11:47.230> supply<00:11:47.631> chain,<00:11:47.856> this<00:11:48.033> is<00:11:48.178> beyond<00:11:48.515> one<00:11:48.740> company's<00:11:49.383> realm,<00:11:49.736> and<00:11:49.881> it's<00:11:50.042> actually<00:11:50.363> the<00:11:50.395> 4<00:11:50.684> big<00:11:50.845> transitions.

00:11:51.488 --> 00:11:56.116
One,<00:11:52.934> we<00:11:52.998> are<00:11:53.095> going<00:11:53.416> through<00:11:53.657> a<00:11:53.834> massive<00:11:55.328> AI<00:11:55.650> transition.

00:11:57.417 --> 00:12:09.371
And<00:11:57.578> what<00:11:57.738> that<00:11:57.915> means<00:11:58.381> is<00:11:59.104> everything<00:11:59.843> in<00:11:59.940> and<00:12:00.068> around<00:12:01.756> our<00:12:02.077> world,<00:12:02.559> we<00:12:02.639> are<00:12:02.704> going<00:12:02.800> to<00:12:02.897> see<00:12:03.138> become<00:12:04.744> more<00:12:05.066> AI,<00:12:05.773> more<00:12:05.934> AI<00:12:06.271> leverage,<00:12:06.673> more<00:12:06.833> technology<00:12:07.380> leveraged,<00:12:07.942> more<00:12:08.730> prediction<00:12:09.146> leverage.

00:12:09.419 --> 00:12:10.622
So<00:12:09.563> that's<00:12:09.788> one<00:12:09.964> big<00:12:10.189> transition.

00:12:11.392 --> 00:12:18.079
The<00:12:11.424> second<00:12:11.889> is<00:12:12.113> I<00:12:12.274> call<00:12:13.557> the<00:12:13.653> green<00:12:13.893> transition,<00:12:15.481> and<00:12:15.722> this<00:12:16.203> transition<00:12:17.742> is<00:12:17.967> real.

00:12:18.544 --> 00:12:18.993
It's<00:12:18.689> happening.

00:12:19.266 --> 00:12:38.314
You<00:12:19.362> know,<00:12:19.490> I<00:12:19.587> think<00:12:19.763> there<00:12:19.907> might<00:12:20.148> be,<00:12:21.254> uh,<00:12:22.329> some<00:12:22.698> bumps<00:12:23.099> on<00:12:23.195> the<00:12:23.275> road,<00:12:23.612> I<00:12:23.676> mean,<00:12:23.852> in<00:12:23.997> terms<00:12:24.318> of<00:12:24.638> the<00:12:24.879> pace<00:12:25.184> at<00:12:25.360> which<00:12:25.600> the<00:12:25.745> transition<00:12:26.226> happens,<00:12:26.723> but<00:12:26.867> I<00:12:26.964> can<00:12:27.284> collectively<00:12:27.782> see<00:12:28.086> the<00:12:28.247> world<00:12:28.503> is<00:12:29.770> really<00:12:30.155> taken<00:12:30.636> on<00:12:30.748> itself,<00:12:31.213> and<00:12:31.358> more<00:12:31.454> importantly,<00:12:33.298> the<00:12:33.443> younger<00:12:33.763> generation<00:12:35.351> is<00:12:35.691> the<00:12:35.837> one<00:12:36.015> that<00:12:36.242> has<00:12:36.662> really<00:12:37.213> caught<00:12:37.456> on<00:12:37.634> and<00:12:37.779> believed<00:12:38.103> in<00:12:38.265> it.

00:12:38.362 --> 00:12:45.913
So<00:12:38.524> once<00:12:38.751> the<00:12:38.848> consumer<00:12:39.479> and<00:12:39.576> demands<00:12:40.790> really—<00:12:41.357> your<00:12:41.664> customers<00:12:42.166> start<00:12:42.474> to<00:12:42.571> really<00:12:42.878> demand<00:12:43.704> that<00:12:44.419> climate<00:12:44.744> action,<00:12:45.312> you<00:12:45.410> will<00:12:45.507> see<00:12:45.735> that.

00:12:45.962 --> 00:12:47.570
So<00:12:46.060> to<00:12:46.157> me,<00:12:46.368> that<00:12:46.482> is<00:12:46.563> a<00:12:46.628> second<00:12:46.953> big<00:12:47.148> transition.

00:12:48.171 --> 00:12:51.484
The<00:12:48.333> third,<00:12:49.129> and<00:12:49.292> you<00:12:49.389> said<00:12:49.698> that<00:12:49.941> in<00:12:50.348> your<00:12:50.445> point,<00:12:50.754> is<00:12:50.851> a<00:12:50.916> little<00:12:51.160> geopolitical.

00:12:51.930 --> 00:12:56.374
I<00:12:51.946> call<00:12:54.871> decoupling<00:12:55.663> of<00:12:55.760> the<00:12:55.857> supply<00:12:56.245> chain.

00:12:57.376 --> 00:13:01.708
And<00:12:57.457> what<00:12:57.619> I<00:12:57.780> mean<00:12:58.104> really<00:12:58.427> by<00:12:58.815> that<00:12:59.138> is<00:12:59.704> all<00:12:59.881> the<00:12:59.962> decoupling<00:13:00.447> of<00:13:00.593> the<00:13:00.690> world,<00:13:00.932> you<00:13:01.094> can<00:13:01.255> call<00:13:01.498> it<00:13:01.643> as.

00:13:02.595 --> 00:13:09.249
Because<00:13:03.159> the<00:13:03.256> macro<00:13:03.658> issues,<00:13:04.287> the<00:13:04.367> geopolitical<00:13:05.157> issues,<00:13:06.768> are<00:13:07.009> almost<00:13:07.509> a<00:13:07.654> constant<00:13:08.395> thing<00:13:08.701> to<00:13:08.798> be<00:13:08.959> around.

00:13:10.554 --> 00:13:33.556
And<00:13:10.651> no<00:13:10.796> longer<00:13:12.643> a<00:13:12.820> country<00:13:14.410> or<00:13:14.571> a<00:13:14.603> nation<00:13:15.471> or<00:13:15.567> a<00:13:15.631> state<00:13:16.113> or<00:13:16.210> a<00:13:16.354> company<00:13:18.588> should<00:13:19.471> rely<00:13:20.275> on<00:13:20.500> a<00:13:20.532> static<00:13:21.016> set<00:13:21.323> of<00:13:21.436> assumptions,<00:13:23.261> which<00:13:23.778> essentially<00:13:24.407> means<00:13:25.457> that<00:13:25.699> this<00:13:25.942> decoupling<00:13:26.571> of<00:13:26.652> supply<00:13:26.991> chain<00:13:27.250> is<00:13:27.395> happening,<00:13:28.122> and<00:13:28.283> you<00:13:28.445> will<00:13:28.590> have<00:13:28.784> to<00:13:29.010> bake<00:13:29.397> in<00:13:29.575> the<00:13:29.720> macro<00:13:30.812> dynamics<00:13:31.919> while<00:13:32.160> designing<00:13:32.882> your<00:13:32.994> supply<00:13:33.379> chain.

00:13:34.101 --> 00:13:39.348
And<00:13:34.198> so<00:13:34.406> you<00:13:34.502> no<00:13:34.599> longer<00:13:34.984> can<00:13:35.208> make<00:13:35.401> an<00:13:35.481> assumption<00:13:36.171> that<00:13:37.134> what<00:13:37.374> works<00:13:37.551> today<00:13:37.872> will<00:13:38.032> actually<00:13:38.433> work<00:13:38.674> 5<00:13:38.914> years<00:13:39.075> from<00:13:39.299> now.

00:13:39.781 --> 00:13:55.263
And<00:13:39.877> so<00:13:40.037> you<00:13:40.198> have—<00:13:40.503> you're<00:13:40.695> in<00:13:40.776> a<00:13:40.904> constant<00:13:41.562> change<00:13:42.123> to<00:13:42.428> what<00:13:42.588> I<00:13:42.685> call<00:13:43.086> rewire<00:13:43.712> your<00:13:43.808> supply<00:13:44.209> chain<00:13:44.450> now,<00:13:45.396> uh,<00:13:45.669> to<00:13:45.813> prepare<00:13:46.214> and<00:13:46.359> make<00:13:46.535> sure<00:13:47.001> that,<00:13:48.204> uh,<00:13:48.605> your<00:13:48.781> demand<00:13:50.145> is<00:13:50.851> not<00:13:51.830> missing<00:13:52.792> on<00:13:52.953> products<00:13:53.498> and<00:13:53.691> services<00:13:54.300> that<00:13:54.461> you<00:13:54.525> have<00:13:54.621> to<00:13:54.653> supply<00:13:54.974> for.

00:13:55.343 --> 00:14:00.786
So<00:13:55.520> I<00:13:55.600> think<00:13:56.162> To<00:13:56.242> me,<00:13:56.467> the<00:13:56.547> third<00:13:56.724> big<00:13:56.884> transition<00:13:57.366> is<00:13:57.510> what<00:13:57.607> I<00:13:57.687> call<00:13:59.212> the<00:13:59.357> decoupling<00:13:59.999> of<00:14:00.095> supply<00:14:00.417> chain.

00:14:01.284 --> 00:14:15.590
And<00:14:01.862> inherently<00:14:02.745> inside<00:14:03.227> that<00:14:03.692> transition<00:14:05.057> is<00:14:05.153> the<00:14:05.298> macro<00:14:05.699> issues<00:14:06.181> to,<00:14:06.855> to<00:14:07.000> play<00:14:07.305> out<00:14:08.044> for<00:14:08.220> the<00:14:08.300> set<00:14:08.589> of<00:14:08.750> products<00:14:09.087> and<00:14:09.232> services<00:14:10.372> that<00:14:10.597> you<00:14:10.677> are<00:14:10.709> selling<00:14:11.078> to<00:14:11.110> your<00:14:11.255> customers<00:14:11.833> in<00:14:11.977> terms<00:14:12.202> of<00:14:12.363> where<00:14:12.620> your<00:14:12.780> network<00:14:13.182> lies,<00:14:13.567> in<00:14:13.728> terms<00:14:13.968> of<00:14:14.065> products<00:14:14.627> and<00:14:14.771> where<00:14:14.932> you<00:14:15.028> source<00:14:15.430> from.

00:14:16.232 --> 00:14:21.435
And<00:14:16.313> the<00:14:16.393> final,<00:14:17.356> which<00:14:17.517> I<00:14:17.597> think<00:14:17.822> is<00:14:17.902> the<00:14:17.983> most<00:14:18.239> important<00:14:18.721> final,<00:14:19.042> but<00:14:19.187> the<00:14:19.267> most<00:14:19.460> important<00:14:19.909> one<00:14:20.102> is<00:14:20.311> I<00:14:20.407> call<00:14:20.568> the<00:14:20.712> human<00:14:21.049> transition.

00:14:22.974 --> 00:14:27.861
We<00:14:23.278> as<00:14:23.438> humans<00:14:23.919> have<00:14:24.079> to<00:14:24.239> kind<00:14:24.480> of<00:14:24.640> learn<00:14:24.896> to<00:14:25.057> deal<00:14:25.297> with<00:14:25.457> these<00:14:25.698> three<00:14:25.922> big<00:14:26.082> transitions<00:14:27.204> and<00:14:27.300> adapt<00:14:27.685> to<00:14:27.717> that.

00:14:28.983 --> 00:14:42.844
And<00:14:29.143> so<00:14:29.287> if<00:14:29.383> this<00:14:29.640> is<00:14:29.768> going<00:14:29.928> to<00:14:30.008> be<00:14:30.104> the<00:14:30.184> real<00:14:30.841> state<00:14:31.226> to<00:14:31.306> be,<00:14:32.492> that<00:14:32.652> as<00:14:32.829> humans,<00:14:33.469> how<00:14:33.614> are<00:14:33.694> you<00:14:33.774> going<00:14:33.870> to<00:14:33.950> really<00:14:35.392> prepare<00:14:36.114> yourself,<00:14:36.819> your<00:14:37.075> kids,<00:14:37.780> your<00:14:38.357> colleagues,<00:14:39.238> your<00:14:39.479> organizations<00:14:40.985> to<00:14:41.081> deal<00:14:41.305> with<00:14:41.466> these<00:14:41.626> three<00:14:41.802> big<00:14:42.043> mega<00:14:42.283> transitions?

00:14:43.164 --> 00:14:49.786
Just<00:14:43.885> not<00:14:44.286> just<00:14:44.590> as<00:14:45.328> somebody<00:14:45.792> who<00:14:45.969> is<00:14:46.273> contributing<00:14:46.930> to<00:14:47.090> build<00:14:47.331> in<00:14:47.491> that<00:14:48.004> transitions,<00:14:48.453> but<00:14:48.598> also<00:14:49.016> even<00:14:49.240> as<00:14:49.417> users.

00:14:50.766 --> 00:14:56.805
You<00:14:50.846> know,<00:14:50.943> climate<00:14:51.650> action<00:14:51.907> affects<00:14:52.372> everybody,<00:14:53.432> everybody<00:14:53.818> out<00:14:53.994> there,<00:14:54.958> every<00:14:55.119> individual<00:14:55.504> out<00:14:55.681> there<00:14:56.066> in<00:14:56.163> the<00:14:56.243> world,<00:14:56.564> right?

00:14:57.592 --> 00:15:10.617
Um,<00:14:58.090> when<00:14:58.186> you<00:14:58.315> get<00:14:58.556> hit<00:14:58.797> with<00:14:58.973> this<00:14:59.696> natural<00:15:00.098> disasters,<00:15:01.061> I<00:15:01.125> mean,<00:15:01.222> it<00:15:01.302> doesn't<00:15:01.623> look<00:15:01.848> at<00:15:02.571> who<00:15:02.731> is<00:15:04.016> rich,<00:15:04.354> poor,<00:15:05.301> uh,<00:15:05.783> you<00:15:05.815> know,<00:15:06.361> gender,<00:15:07.646> you<00:15:07.726> know,<00:15:08.048> ethnicity,<00:15:09.638> or<00:15:09.718> any<00:15:09.895> which<00:15:10.071> way<00:15:10.200> you<00:15:10.360> look<00:15:10.521> at<00:15:10.553> it.

00:15:10.714 --> 00:15:13.075
It<00:15:10.794> just<00:15:11.019> hits<00:15:11.324> everybody<00:15:11.661> at<00:15:11.742> the<00:15:11.806> same<00:15:12.047> time,<00:15:12.529> much<00:15:12.705> like<00:15:12.866> COVID.

00:15:13.332 --> 00:15:28.887
So<00:15:13.990> I<00:15:14.070> think<00:15:14.135> in<00:15:14.311> that<00:15:14.472> conversation,<00:15:15.098> I<00:15:15.195> feel<00:15:15.452> that<00:15:15.660> we<00:15:15.757> as<00:15:15.917> humans<00:15:16.239> have<00:15:16.383> to<00:15:16.544> deal<00:15:16.785> with<00:15:17.010> what<00:15:17.127> I<00:15:17.278> call<00:15:17.479> a<00:15:17.546> transition,<00:15:19.850> which<00:15:20.108> is<00:15:20.736> almost<00:15:21.155> like<00:15:21.332> saying<00:15:22.765> the<00:15:22.845> humans<00:15:23.264> that<00:15:23.490> will<00:15:23.635> transition<00:15:24.134> better<00:15:24.536> are<00:15:24.681> the<00:15:24.778> ones<00:15:25.019> that<00:15:26.066> can<00:15:26.372> manage<00:15:26.871> the<00:15:27.032> 3<00:15:27.258> other<00:15:27.435> transitions<00:15:28.095> in<00:15:28.224> a<00:15:28.240> very<00:15:28.450> meaningful<00:15:28.806> way.

00:15:29.228 --> 00:15:40.627
Sorry<00:15:29.439> for<00:15:29.601> a<00:15:29.779> very<00:15:30.022> long<00:15:30.249> answer,<00:15:30.590> Clint,<00:15:30.833> but<00:15:30.979> I<00:15:30.995> actually<00:15:31.466> felt<00:15:32.779> that's<00:15:34.060> the<00:15:34.158> best<00:15:34.401> way<00:15:34.628> I'm<00:15:34.871> thinking<00:15:35.374> about<00:15:35.682> where<00:15:35.779> the<00:15:35.925> world<00:15:36.120> is<00:15:36.266> going<00:15:36.428> to<00:15:36.509> go<00:15:36.833> and<00:15:36.979> how<00:15:37.158> everything<00:15:38.386> is<00:15:38.406> interconnected<00:15:39.049> in<00:15:39.146> some<00:15:39.452> form<00:15:39.709> on<00:15:39.854> those<00:15:40.096> 4<00:15:40.257> transitions.

00:15:41.383 --> 00:15:42.462
No,<00:15:41.544> that's<00:15:41.721> super<00:15:42.092> interesting.

00:15:42.510 --> 00:15:43.363
It's<00:15:42.655> super<00:15:42.832> fascinating.

00:15:43.540 --> 00:15:50.273
And<00:15:43.717> number<00:15:44.023> 4,<00:15:45.005> the<00:15:45.166> human<00:15:45.488> transition,<00:15:46.692> ties<00:15:46.997> to<00:15:47.078> your<00:15:47.190> number<00:15:47.640> 1,<00:15:48.362> which<00:15:48.619> is<00:15:49.020> artificial<00:15:49.582> intelligence.

00:15:50.690 --> 00:16:02.123
How<00:15:50.883> are<00:15:51.092> you<00:15:51.268> thinking<00:15:51.686> about<00:15:52.135> AI,<00:15:52.633> this<00:15:52.954> boon<00:15:53.195> in<00:15:53.340> AI,<00:15:53.741> particularly<00:15:54.239> since<00:15:54.544> ChatGPT<00:15:55.282> kind<00:15:55.459> of<00:15:55.523> caught<00:15:55.828> the<00:15:55.909> world<00:15:56.230> by<00:15:56.342> storm,<00:15:57.595> although<00:15:57.835> we<00:15:57.916> kind<00:15:58.092> of<00:15:58.173> pretend<00:15:58.558> like<00:15:58.735> ChatGPT<00:15:59.441> invented<00:15:59.923> AI<00:16:00.421> in<00:16:00.565> like<00:16:00.742> December<00:16:01.448> of<00:16:01.625> '22.

00:16:02.829 --> 00:16:11.708
But,<00:16:03.070> you<00:16:03.166> know,<00:16:03.311> this<00:16:03.536> is,<00:16:03.712> this<00:16:03.889> is<00:16:03.969> something<00:16:04.435> that's<00:16:04.981> been<00:16:05.093> around<00:16:05.318> for<00:16:05.478> a<00:16:05.559> long<00:16:05.800> time<00:16:06.217> and<00:16:06.586> you've<00:16:07.084> probably<00:16:07.405> been<00:16:07.550> working<00:16:07.791> on<00:16:08.369> even<00:16:09.332> a<00:16:09.477> lot<00:16:09.637> longer<00:16:10.681> than<00:16:10.857> most<00:16:11.162> companies.

00:16:12.287 --> 00:16:21.506
How<00:16:12.383> do<00:16:12.527> you<00:16:12.624> think<00:16:13.009> about<00:16:13.491> this<00:16:13.668> transition<00:16:14.326> that<00:16:14.471> humans<00:16:14.873> are<00:16:14.953> about<00:16:15.210> to<00:16:15.322> make<00:16:15.756> from<00:16:17.459> status<00:16:18.085> quo<00:16:18.728> to<00:16:19.354> AI<00:16:19.772> being<00:16:20.029> a<00:16:20.334> big<00:16:20.655> part<00:16:20.912> of<00:16:20.992> our<00:16:21.153> lives?

00:16:22.888 --> 00:16:23.209
Yeah.

00:16:23.964 --> 00:16:31.738
So<00:16:24.189> let<00:16:24.350> me<00:16:25.137> first<00:16:26.036> start<00:16:26.341> with<00:16:26.438> a<00:16:26.920> little<00:16:27.144> bit<00:16:27.241> of<00:16:28.044> a<00:16:28.462> context<00:16:29.490> on<00:16:29.650> saying<00:16:29.972> that<00:16:30.453> I<00:16:30.550> am<00:16:30.694> a<00:16:30.775> firm<00:16:31.016> believer<00:16:31.417> in<00:16:31.514> AI.

00:16:32.686 --> 00:16:37.376
And<00:16:33.811> I<00:16:33.907> think,<00:16:34.710> but<00:16:34.855> I'm<00:16:35.031> a<00:16:35.096> firm<00:16:35.353> believer<00:16:35.818> in<00:16:35.915> what<00:16:36.075> I<00:16:36.220> call<00:16:36.477> responsible<00:16:37.200> AI.

00:16:38.231 --> 00:16:45.903
And<00:16:38.393> so,<00:16:39.765> like<00:16:40.412> all<00:16:40.832> pieces<00:16:41.219> of<00:16:41.316> technology<00:16:43.174> and<00:16:43.319> all<00:16:43.497> things<00:16:43.723> in<00:16:43.820> life,<00:16:44.288> there's<00:16:44.450> always<00:16:44.724> a<00:16:44.870> good<00:16:45.031> side<00:16:45.273> and<00:16:45.370> a<00:16:45.500> bad<00:16:45.693> side.

00:16:47.250 --> 00:16:57.154
So<00:16:48.412> I<00:16:48.573> think<00:16:48.816> there<00:16:50.672> are—<00:16:51.221> the<00:16:51.318> good<00:16:51.560> thing<00:16:51.803> is<00:16:53.078> that<00:16:53.256> we<00:16:53.579> humans<00:16:54.289> are<00:16:54.467> very<00:16:54.773> quick<00:16:55.032> to<00:16:55.128> spot<00:16:55.581> the<00:16:55.677> weaknesses<00:16:56.317> of<00:16:56.505> anything.

00:16:59.288 --> 00:17:09.169
You<00:16:59.777> ask<00:16:59.955> your<00:17:00.037> son,<00:17:01.420> if<00:17:01.566> I<00:17:01.582> were<00:17:01.664> to<00:17:01.810> ask<00:17:02.135> you<00:17:02.298> also<00:17:02.721> in<00:17:02.884> the<00:17:02.965> same<00:17:03.844> vein<00:17:04.104> saying,<00:17:05.013> tell<00:17:05.239> me<00:17:05.738> how<00:17:05.899> many<00:17:06.141> things<00:17:06.382> are<00:17:06.849> red<00:17:07.188> in<00:17:07.349> color<00:17:07.993> in<00:17:08.073> the<00:17:08.218> room<00:17:08.396> that<00:17:08.621> you're<00:17:08.718> sitting<00:17:09.120> in.

00:17:09.845 --> 00:17:15.133
It's<00:17:09.990> easy<00:17:10.248> for<00:17:10.344> you<00:17:10.409> to<00:17:10.506> spot<00:17:11.359> because<00:17:11.536> you<00:17:11.617> can<00:17:11.762> actually<00:17:12.084> look<00:17:12.245> at<00:17:12.342> them<00:17:12.519> and<00:17:12.648> say,<00:17:12.825> okay,<00:17:12.986> here<00:17:13.211> are<00:17:13.308> the<00:17:13.389> things<00:17:13.630> that<00:17:13.775> are<00:17:13.856> red,<00:17:14.681> essentially.

00:17:15.635 --> 00:17:21.250
And<00:17:15.958> as<00:17:16.460> by<00:17:16.702> nature,<00:17:19.826> we<00:17:19.971> are<00:17:20.068> very<00:17:20.230> good<00:17:20.376> at<00:17:20.473> spotting<00:17:20.878> the<00:17:20.926> issues.

00:17:21.833 --> 00:17:30.601
And<00:17:21.930> so<00:17:22.027> the<00:17:22.173> way<00:17:22.399> you<00:17:22.496> think<00:17:22.723> about<00:17:22.982> it<00:17:23.144> is<00:17:23.387> that<00:17:23.565> you<00:17:23.694> have<00:17:23.872> a<00:17:23.888> new<00:17:24.196> piece<00:17:24.520> of<00:17:24.682> tool<00:17:25.329> and<00:17:25.491> technology<00:17:27.741> where<00:17:28.000> we<00:17:28.145> are<00:17:28.226> also<00:17:28.485> starting<00:17:28.809> to<00:17:28.955> get<00:17:29.054> better<00:17:29.377> at<00:17:29.547> knowing<00:17:29.819> the<00:17:29.989> weaknesses<00:17:30.499> of<00:17:30.550> it.

00:17:31.347 --> 00:17:40.968
And<00:17:31.492> if<00:17:31.589> you<00:17:31.750> have<00:17:32.138> that<00:17:33.429> and<00:17:33.526> then<00:17:33.672> you<00:17:33.768> can<00:17:33.914> contain<00:17:34.414> that,<00:17:35.706> then<00:17:35.867> I<00:17:36.012> think<00:17:36.190> you<00:17:36.271> are<00:17:36.368> in<00:17:36.497> a<00:17:36.578> place<00:17:36.917> that<00:17:37.062> you<00:17:37.159> actually<00:17:37.482> can<00:17:37.869> let<00:17:38.063> the<00:17:38.289> good<00:17:38.531> part<00:17:38.757> of<00:17:38.854> that<00:17:39.096> stuff<00:17:39.839> meaningfully<00:17:40.774> help.

00:17:41.258 --> 00:17:46.840
And<00:17:41.339> I<00:17:41.436> think<00:17:41.662> this<00:17:41.839> is<00:17:41.936> a<00:17:42.162> very<00:17:42.484> disruptive<00:17:43.759> play<00:17:44.243> of<00:17:44.356> generative<00:17:44.823> AI<00:17:45.082> as<00:17:45.227> well<00:17:45.372> as<00:17:46.179> AI<00:17:46.356> in<00:17:46.517> general.

00:17:47.227 --> 00:17:47.485
Right.

00:17:48.356 --> 00:17:57.064
I<00:17:48.437> think<00:17:49.163> I<00:17:49.260> am<00:17:49.340> a<00:17:49.470> firm<00:17:49.582> believer<00:17:50.066> that<00:17:51.098> that<00:17:51.421> is<00:17:51.598> the,<00:17:53.614> the<00:17:53.694> first<00:17:54.097> transition<00:17:54.662> I<00:17:54.807> listed<00:17:55.629> and<00:17:55.791> that's<00:17:56.016> happening<00:17:56.436> and<00:17:56.532> that's<00:17:56.823> real.

00:17:57.288 --> 00:17:57.689
It's<00:17:57.416> going<00:17:57.480> to<00:17:57.576> happen.

00:17:58.475 --> 00:18:09.818
Now,<00:17:58.796> whether<00:17:59.101> you<00:17:59.261> play<00:17:59.518> part<00:17:59.839> to<00:17:59.999> it,<00:18:00.480> whether<00:18:00.705> you<00:18:00.801> meaningfully<00:18:01.587> be<00:18:01.764> aware<00:18:02.165> and<00:18:02.325> you<00:18:02.486> meaningfully<00:18:03.529> contribute<00:18:04.556> to<00:18:04.652> that<00:18:05.133> in<00:18:05.229> a<00:18:05.358> way<00:18:05.534> that<00:18:05.695> it<00:18:05.775> can<00:18:05.935> be<00:18:06.032> adopted<00:18:07.684> is<00:18:07.764> the<00:18:07.861> right<00:18:08.101> way<00:18:08.246> I<00:18:08.342> think<00:18:08.599> about<00:18:08.903> the<00:18:09.064> human<00:18:09.385> transition.

00:18:09.866 --> 00:18:14.278
Then<00:18:10.010> I<00:18:10.026> actually<00:18:10.428> call—<00:18:11.230> the<00:18:11.294> other<00:18:11.470> name<00:18:11.727> I<00:18:11.855> have<00:18:12.032> for<00:18:12.144> the<00:18:12.257> human<00:18:12.449> transition<00:18:12.979> is<00:18:13.075> called<00:18:13.315> the<00:18:13.380> attitude<00:18:13.861> transitions.

00:18:15.465 --> 00:18:22.685
And<00:18:15.546> I<00:18:15.642> think<00:18:16.043> the<00:18:16.123> reason<00:18:16.428> why<00:18:16.508> I<00:18:16.669> have<00:18:16.909> that<00:18:17.166> is<00:18:17.728> there's<00:18:17.984> much<00:18:18.369> in<00:18:18.594> our<00:18:18.754> attitude<00:18:19.252> towards<00:18:19.797> all<00:18:19.893> of<00:18:19.974> these<00:18:20.134> other<00:18:20.295> transitions<00:18:20.936> that<00:18:21.177> actually<00:18:21.482> has<00:18:21.642> an<00:18:21.722> important<00:18:22.156> role<00:18:22.364> to<00:18:22.444> play.

00:18:23.664 --> 00:18:33.859
So<00:18:24.387> if<00:18:24.612> you<00:18:25.655> as<00:18:25.848> an<00:18:26.057> individual<00:18:27.180> have<00:18:27.357> the<00:18:27.453> right<00:18:27.983> mindset<00:18:28.465> and<00:18:28.561> the<00:18:28.641> right<00:18:28.946> attitude<00:18:29.428> towards<00:18:29.749> other<00:18:30.006> three<00:18:30.167> transitions,<00:18:31.355> I<00:18:31.451> think<00:18:31.612> we<00:18:31.692> are<00:18:31.756> going<00:18:31.836> to<00:18:31.933> be<00:18:32.093> in<00:18:32.174> a<00:18:32.318> lot,<00:18:32.575> lot<00:18:32.735> better<00:18:33.041> place<00:18:33.538> faster.

00:18:34.742 --> 00:18:38.981
Transitions<00:18:35.224> are<00:18:35.304> going<00:18:35.417> to<00:18:35.545> happen<00:18:35.866> no<00:18:36.011> matter<00:18:37.696> whether<00:18:37.953> we<00:18:38.098> are<00:18:38.274> in<00:18:38.419> it<00:18:38.499> or<00:18:38.596> not.

00:18:40.201 --> 00:18:52.208
But<00:18:40.346> I<00:18:40.442> think<00:18:40.602> the<00:18:40.747> question<00:18:41.164> of<00:18:41.405> the<00:18:41.566> pace<00:18:42.433> as<00:18:42.545> to<00:18:42.690> how<00:18:42.866> fast<00:18:43.332> you<00:18:43.492> can<00:18:43.733> really<00:18:44.777> get<00:18:45.002> to<00:18:45.098> that<00:18:45.981> is<00:18:46.141> a<00:18:46.222> factor<00:18:46.607> of<00:18:46.703> our<00:18:46.848> attitude<00:18:47.410> and<00:18:47.972> how<00:18:48.229> we<00:18:48.469> believe<00:18:49.477> we<00:18:49.497> are<00:18:49.673> going<00:18:50.732> to<00:18:50.876> play<00:18:51.101> a<00:18:51.117> role<00:18:51.422> in<00:18:51.518> those<00:18:51.743> three<00:18:51.919> additions.

00:18:52.256 --> 00:19:11.571
So<00:18:52.384> I<00:18:52.561> think,<00:18:52.801> in<00:18:52.898> my<00:18:53.122> opinion,<00:18:53.523> my<00:18:53.668> advice<00:18:54.085> to<00:18:54.165> individuals<00:18:54.743> is<00:18:54.951> always<00:18:55.352> that,<00:18:56.395> um,<00:18:57.438> be<00:18:57.614> very<00:18:57.855> well<00:18:58.160> aware<00:18:58.801> of,<00:18:59.860> uh,<00:19:00.823> the<00:19:00.967> downsides,<00:19:01.785> the<00:19:01.930> weaknesses,<00:19:03.454> um,<00:19:04.272> but<00:19:04.577> use<00:19:04.898> it<00:19:06.197> to<00:19:06.662> make<00:19:06.999> you<00:19:07.561> a<00:19:07.577> smarter<00:19:09.085> decision<00:19:09.566> maker,<00:19:10.529> a<00:19:10.545> smarter<00:19:11.090> user<00:19:11.395> of<00:19:11.459> it.

00:19:11.796 --> 00:19:19.769
You<00:19:11.828> know,<00:19:13.015> it<00:19:13.176> was<00:19:13.496> like<00:19:13.721> people<00:19:14.122> at<00:19:14.218> times<00:19:14.571> say<00:19:14.700> that,<00:19:14.860> hey,<00:19:15.390> you<00:19:15.518> know,<00:19:16.208> don't<00:19:16.448> give<00:19:16.544> an<00:19:16.929> iPad<00:19:18.068> to<00:19:18.213> a<00:19:18.245> 2-year-old<00:19:19.031> or<00:19:19.272> 3-year-old.

00:19:19.849 --> 00:19:21.662
I<00:19:19.929> mean,<00:19:21.116> why<00:19:21.341> is<00:19:21.437> that?

00:19:21.758 --> 00:19:24.982
Is<00:19:22.063> just<00:19:22.239> because<00:19:22.624> you<00:19:22.785> feel<00:19:23.683> there<00:19:23.827> are<00:19:23.940> a<00:19:24.004> lot<00:19:24.164> of<00:19:24.325> other<00:19:24.565> things<00:19:24.790> to<00:19:24.886> do.

00:19:25.111 --> 00:19:30.453
And<00:19:25.207> so<00:19:25.528> as<00:19:25.688> humans,<00:19:26.073> you<00:19:26.169> should<00:19:26.346> have<00:19:26.490> a<00:19:26.570> balance<00:19:27.036> of<00:19:27.132> knowing<00:19:28.175> what<00:19:28.335> to<00:19:28.415> do<00:19:28.576> without<00:19:28.977> gadgets<00:19:29.378> and<00:19:29.522> what<00:19:29.683> to<00:19:29.779> do<00:19:30.003> with<00:19:30.164> gadgets.

00:19:30.501 --> 00:19:32.923
So<00:19:30.821> you<00:19:30.982> have<00:19:31.142> a<00:19:31.287> very<00:19:31.463> complete<00:19:31.848> life<00:19:32.345> as<00:19:32.442> such,<00:19:32.746> right?

00:19:33.404 --> 00:19:44.624
So<00:19:33.532> I<00:19:33.709> think<00:19:33.934> I<00:19:33.950> would<00:19:34.094> always<00:19:34.431> say<00:19:34.912> never<00:19:35.313> run<00:19:35.538> away<00:19:35.810> from<00:19:36.500> knowing<00:19:36.917> the<00:19:37.062> weaknesses,<00:19:37.639> but<00:19:37.800> just<00:19:38.072> take<00:19:38.265> it<00:19:38.361> with<00:19:38.505> a<00:19:38.586> little<00:19:38.762> bit<00:19:39.163> of<00:19:40.110> clarity<00:19:40.527> that<00:19:40.687> it<00:19:40.783> makes<00:19:41.008> you<00:19:41.088> a<00:19:41.168> better<00:19:41.409> person<00:19:41.874> knowing<00:19:43.194> the<00:19:43.339> darker<00:19:43.612> side<00:19:43.982> of<00:19:44.078> certain<00:19:44.464> tech.

00:19:45.829 --> 00:19:52.968
The<00:19:45.861> second<00:19:46.167> transition<00:19:46.649> is<00:19:46.793> really<00:19:46.970> interesting<00:19:47.452> too,<00:19:47.677> this<00:19:47.854> green<00:19:48.175> transition,<00:19:48.738> and<00:19:48.898> it's<00:19:49.203> probably<00:19:50.264> somewhat<00:19:50.666> controversial,<00:19:51.389> at<00:19:51.469> least<00:19:51.790> in<00:19:51.871> the<00:19:52.080> political<00:19:52.580> realm.

00:19:53.889 --> 00:20:03.762
And<00:19:53.970> I<00:19:54.050> know<00:19:54.293> like<00:19:55.003> there's<00:19:55.666> been<00:19:55.811> a<00:19:55.827> lot<00:19:56.005> of<00:19:56.070> debates<00:19:56.796> and<00:19:57.184> ESG<00:19:59.300> type<00:20:00.108> things<00:20:00.350> have<00:20:00.480> been<00:20:01.482> politicized<00:20:02.921> and<00:20:03.018> things<00:20:03.326> of<00:20:03.358> that<00:20:03.520> nature.

00:20:03.811 --> 00:20:05.800
How<00:20:03.989> do<00:20:04.070> you<00:20:04.231> think<00:20:04.490> about<00:20:05.185> all<00:20:05.347> of<00:20:05.525> that?

00:20:07.594 --> 00:20:08.579
Well,<00:20:07.923> I<00:20:08.005> think<00:20:08.235> so.

00:20:09.154 --> 00:20:26.078
This<00:20:09.466> is<00:20:10.221> one<00:20:10.467> thing<00:20:11.042> that<00:20:12.417> We<00:20:12.723> are<00:20:12.900> completely<00:20:13.625> united<00:20:14.269> across<00:20:15.074> the<00:20:15.170> Mahindra<00:20:15.621> Group<00:20:16.587> on<00:20:16.684> the<00:20:16.845> belief<00:20:17.248> that<00:20:18.439> we<00:20:19.083> are<00:20:19.164> going<00:20:19.421> to<00:20:19.486> drive<00:20:19.824> and<00:20:19.985> we're<00:20:20.066> going<00:20:20.178> to<00:20:20.291> play<00:20:20.533> a<00:20:20.774> very<00:20:21.032> active<00:20:21.501> role<00:20:22.876> in<00:20:23.053> pushing<00:20:24.671> for<00:20:25.398> climate<00:20:25.787> change.

00:20:26.433 --> 00:20:37.797
And<00:20:26.530> so,<00:20:27.727> uh,<00:20:29.522> couldn't<00:20:29.700> agree<00:20:29.927> more<00:20:30.185> with<00:20:30.380> you<00:20:30.961> on<00:20:31.204> the<00:20:31.301> political<00:20:32.173> aspects<00:20:32.674> of<00:20:32.852> it<00:20:33.078> because,<00:20:34.128> uh,<00:20:34.452> you<00:20:34.532> know,<00:20:34.936> economic<00:20:36.294> aspects<00:20:36.859> play<00:20:37.102> an<00:20:37.199> important<00:20:37.603> role.

00:20:38.007 --> 00:20:46.103
I<00:20:38.104> don't<00:20:38.330> think<00:20:38.572> anybody<00:20:39.138> disagrees<00:20:41.476> that<00:20:42.022> they<00:20:42.183> hate<00:20:42.520> the<00:20:42.585> extreme<00:20:43.709> weathers<00:20:44.207> that<00:20:44.368> are<00:20:44.448> impacting<00:20:45.717> our<00:20:45.894> world.

00:20:46.376 --> 00:20:49.444
I<00:20:46.456> don't<00:20:46.649> think<00:20:46.762> anybody<00:20:47.099> disagrees<00:20:48.288> on<00:20:48.320> the<00:20:48.448> fact<00:20:48.705> that<00:20:48.866> it<00:20:48.963> is<00:20:49.091> happening.

00:20:49.649 --> 00:20:54.746
I<00:20:49.669> mean,<00:20:49.830> that<00:20:50.055> is<00:20:50.151> statistically<00:20:50.778> proven<00:20:51.276> that<00:20:52.304> we<00:20:52.625> are<00:20:52.786> seeing<00:20:53.123> extreme<00:20:53.445> weathers<00:20:53.991> all<00:20:54.152> around<00:20:54.409> the<00:20:54.553> world.

00:20:54.826 --> 00:20:56.031
So<00:20:55.132> that<00:20:55.276> is<00:20:55.453> the<00:20:55.694> fact.

00:20:56.577 --> 00:21:07.341
Now,<00:20:57.461> who<00:20:57.782> plays<00:20:58.345> what<00:20:58.650> role<00:20:59.148> and<00:20:59.292> how<00:20:59.485> fast<00:21:00.658> you<00:21:00.819> do<00:21:00.995> it<00:21:02.040> to<00:21:02.136> reverse<00:21:02.602> that<00:21:04.192> isn't<00:21:04.514> the<00:21:04.674> good<00:21:06.200> thing<00:21:06.441> for<00:21:06.682> the<00:21:06.763> entire<00:21:07.164> world.

00:21:07.822 --> 00:21:12.716
And<00:21:07.967> I<00:21:08.079> see,<00:21:09.571> uh,<00:21:10.855> there<00:21:11.031> is<00:21:11.176> no<00:21:11.352> disconnect<00:21:11.914> on<00:21:12.058> that<00:21:12.299> point<00:21:12.475> of<00:21:12.539> view.

00:21:12.796 --> 00:21:16.887
You<00:21:12.876> know,<00:21:13.021> I<00:21:13.117> think<00:21:13.438> if,<00:21:13.695> if<00:21:13.919> people<00:21:14.224> have<00:21:14.400> disagreement<00:21:15.106> on<00:21:15.267> the<00:21:15.427> problem<00:21:15.780> itself,<00:21:16.229> then<00:21:16.342> I<00:21:16.486> can<00:21:16.647> get<00:21:16.807> it.

00:21:16.951 --> 00:21:26.883
I<00:21:16.967> don't<00:21:17.192> think<00:21:18.075> a<00:21:18.235> problem<00:21:18.668> is,<00:21:19.037> uh,<00:21:19.920> uh,<00:21:20.577> disagreed<00:21:21.059> by<00:21:21.283> many,<00:21:21.604> but<00:21:21.716> I<00:21:21.861> think<00:21:22.326> how<00:21:22.567> you<00:21:22.663> solve<00:21:23.144> for<00:21:23.321> it,<00:21:24.492> uh,<00:21:25.150> is<00:21:25.391> a<00:21:25.407> slightly<00:21:25.856> different<00:21:26.417> conversation.

00:21:26.931 --> 00:21:34.153
So<00:21:27.059> I<00:21:27.155> think<00:21:27.380> I<00:21:27.460> look<00:21:27.701> at<00:21:27.781> it<00:21:27.877> and<00:21:27.958> say<00:21:28.278> that<00:21:29.385> the,<00:21:29.819> the<00:21:29.899> realization<00:21:30.685> of<00:21:30.829> the<00:21:30.910> issue<00:21:31.166> is<00:21:31.327> there,<00:21:31.888> and<00:21:32.033> the<00:21:32.129> question<00:21:32.514> is<00:21:33.413> How<00:21:33.574> do<00:21:33.638> you<00:21:33.735> solve<00:21:34.072> it?

00:21:34.217 --> 00:21:39.217
There<00:21:34.378> is<00:21:34.539> a<00:21:34.603> bit<00:21:34.780> of<00:21:34.941> that<00:21:35.648> political<00:21:36.050> angle<00:21:36.371> coming<00:21:36.693> in<00:21:37.433> to<00:21:37.577> say<00:21:37.899> how<00:21:37.995> do<00:21:38.060> you<00:21:38.156> solution<00:21:38.638> to<00:21:38.735> solve<00:21:39.105> for<00:21:39.185> it.

00:21:39.282 --> 00:21:50.005
But<00:21:39.780> I<00:21:39.909> think<00:21:40.069> I<00:21:40.230> broadly<00:21:40.568> look<00:21:40.729> at<00:21:40.873> it<00:21:40.970> and<00:21:41.066> say<00:21:41.340> that,<00:21:41.534> look,<00:21:43.076> you<00:21:43.303> as<00:21:43.482> individual,<00:21:44.455> as<00:21:44.618> a<00:21:44.699> buyer<00:21:46.387> of<00:21:46.646> the<00:21:46.727> world,<00:21:47.133> I<00:21:47.198> mean,<00:21:47.360> you're<00:21:47.474> spending<00:21:47.928> money,<00:21:48.675> your<00:21:48.902> hard-earned<00:21:49.324> money<00:21:49.795> out<00:21:49.860> there.

00:21:50.778 --> 00:21:58.367
I<00:21:50.794> mean,<00:21:51.809> you<00:21:51.970> can<00:21:52.147> make<00:21:52.389> an<00:21:52.534> impact<00:21:52.953> on<00:21:53.114> that<00:21:53.356> by<00:21:53.517> just<00:21:53.662> simply<00:21:54.000> buying<00:21:55.918> that<00:21:56.079> are<00:21:56.417> more<00:21:56.514> supportive<00:21:57.126> of<00:21:57.303> the<00:21:57.384> climate<00:21:57.690> transition,<00:21:58.270> right?

00:21:58.872 --> 00:22:03.921
So<00:21:59.048> I<00:21:59.176> think<00:21:59.417> you<00:21:59.738> as<00:22:00.154> individual,<00:22:00.796> as<00:22:00.940> a<00:22:01.036> worker<00:22:01.453> in<00:22:01.581> the<00:22:01.677> corporate<00:22:02.142> world,<00:22:02.863> can<00:22:03.024> always<00:22:03.360> make<00:22:03.537> an<00:22:03.617> impact.

00:22:04.002 --> 00:22:07.448
In<00:22:04.146> our<00:22:04.322> case,<00:22:04.579> in<00:22:04.723> Mahindra's,<00:22:05.989> we<00:22:06.069> are<00:22:06.166> going<00:22:06.470> above<00:22:06.727> and<00:22:06.887> beyond<00:22:07.288> that.

00:22:07.512 --> 00:22:19.006
We<00:22:07.544> are<00:22:07.608> not<00:22:07.849> just<00:22:09.211> pushed<00:22:09.468> ourselves<00:22:10.173> to<00:22:10.253> really<00:22:10.638> commit<00:22:11.295> to<00:22:11.376> be<00:22:11.600> totally<00:22:11.937> green,<00:22:13.620> much<00:22:13.860> ahead<00:22:14.501> of<00:22:14.902> the<00:22:15.046> global,<00:22:16.169> the<00:22:16.425> UN<00:22:16.826> mandate<00:22:18.172> and<00:22:18.349> the<00:22:18.413> India<00:22:18.669> mandate.

00:22:19.086 --> 00:22:30.147
So<00:22:19.775> we<00:22:19.872> are,<00:22:20.016> we<00:22:20.096> are<00:22:20.272> much<00:22:20.513> ahead<00:22:20.994> in<00:22:21.154> that<00:22:22.196> commitment<00:22:22.837> for<00:22:22.981> us<00:22:23.623> from<00:22:23.799> our<00:22:23.959> side,<00:22:24.280> but<00:22:24.440> also<00:22:24.681> equally<00:22:25.097> important,<00:22:25.723> we<00:22:25.867> are<00:22:25.947> also<00:22:26.220> supporting<00:22:26.765> a<00:22:26.829> lot<00:22:26.989> of<00:22:27.085> our<00:22:27.165> clients<00:22:27.646> by<00:22:28.047> having<00:22:28.448> sustainability<00:22:29.313> and<00:22:29.410> green<00:22:29.714> offerings.

00:22:30.692 --> 00:22:39.491
So<00:22:30.837> we<00:22:30.998> are<00:22:31.030> now<00:22:31.335> working<00:22:31.736> with<00:22:31.897> many<00:22:32.138> of<00:22:32.282> our<00:22:32.378> clients<00:22:33.984> to<00:22:34.546> think<00:22:34.851> about<00:22:35.188> supply<00:22:35.670> chain<00:22:36.537> and<00:22:36.649> sourcing<00:22:38.143> from<00:22:38.319> a<00:22:38.400> climate<00:22:39.202> lens.

00:22:40.310 --> 00:22:45.176
And<00:22:40.407> so<00:22:40.487> if<00:22:40.648> they<00:22:40.808> are<00:22:40.969> really<00:22:41.290> very,<00:22:41.531> very<00:22:41.755> mindful<00:22:42.237> of<00:22:42.414> that,<00:22:43.217> then<00:22:43.779> I<00:22:43.859> think<00:22:44.100> we<00:22:44.260> will<00:22:44.405> get<00:22:44.662> to<00:22:44.742> a<00:22:44.822> better<00:22:44.999> place.

00:22:45.224 --> 00:22:55.147
So<00:22:45.448> I<00:22:45.545> think<00:22:46.749> there<00:22:46.910> is<00:22:47.054> a<00:22:47.134> politicization,<00:22:48.098> but<00:22:48.258> I<00:22:48.355> think,<00:22:49.543> remember,<00:22:49.960> politicization<00:22:50.779> is<00:22:51.149> in,<00:22:51.470> in<00:22:51.566> terms<00:22:51.807> of<00:22:51.951> how<00:22:52.192> you<00:22:52.305> solve<00:22:52.626> it<00:22:52.835> as<00:22:52.947> against<00:22:54.135> not<00:22:54.360> agreeing<00:22:54.697> on<00:22:54.777> the<00:22:54.922> problem.

00:22:55.998 --> 00:22:56.368
Stewart<00:22:56.239> Effect.

00:22:56.417 --> 00:22:56.642
Right.

00:22:57.334 --> 00:22:58.864
Yes,<00:22:57.818> yes,<00:22:58.236> exactly.

00:22:58.961 --> 00:23:00.185
I'm<00:22:59.122> glad<00:22:59.348> you<00:22:59.380> said<00:22:59.670> it<00:22:59.766> that<00:22:59.927> way.

00:23:00.958 --> 00:23:05.630
You<00:23:01.038> mentioned<00:23:01.441> you're<00:23:02.504> based<00:23:02.826> in<00:23:02.987> Dallas,<00:23:03.631> but<00:23:03.776> the<00:23:03.873> company<00:23:04.259> is<00:23:04.356> headquartered<00:23:04.855> in<00:23:05.000> San<00:23:05.210> Jose.

00:23:06.131 --> 00:23:12.822
I<00:23:06.195> wonder<00:23:06.454> how<00:23:06.616> you're<00:23:06.842> thinking<00:23:07.165> about<00:23:07.892> work<00:23:08.135> from<00:23:08.296> home<00:23:08.733> and<00:23:08.862> remote<00:23:09.282> work<00:23:09.993> and<00:23:10.898> hybrid<00:23:11.609> and<00:23:11.706> all<00:23:11.884> of<00:23:12.030> this<00:23:12.191> type<00:23:12.450> of<00:23:12.514> stuff.

00:23:14.050 --> 00:23:29.961
Yeah,<00:23:14.307> well,<00:23:14.500> so,<00:23:16.560> you<00:23:16.592> know,<00:23:18.411> the<00:23:18.572> future<00:23:18.910> of<00:23:19.071> workforce<00:23:19.795> is<00:23:19.891> a<00:23:19.956> very<00:23:20.615> evolving,<00:23:22.123> thing<00:23:22.429> in<00:23:22.525> my<00:23:22.686> opinion,<00:23:23.234> because<00:23:24.376> I<00:23:24.521> think<00:23:25.084> there<00:23:25.245> are,<00:23:26.227> like<00:23:26.469> with<00:23:26.694> all<00:23:27.837> negative<00:23:28.303> events,<00:23:28.722> there<00:23:28.867> are<00:23:28.963> always<00:23:29.349> things<00:23:29.543> to<00:23:29.752> learn.

00:23:30.009 --> 00:23:33.995
And<00:23:30.154> I<00:23:30.251> think<00:23:30.478> I've<00:23:30.641> learned<00:23:31.459> the<00:23:31.557> fact<00:23:31.885> that<00:23:32.195> hybrid<00:23:33.046> is<00:23:33.422> here<00:23:33.602> to<00:23:33.684> stay.

00:23:36.620 --> 00:23:45.809
You<00:23:36.732> know,<00:23:36.796> COVID<00:23:37.375> taught<00:23:37.680> us<00:23:37.776> to<00:23:37.937> go<00:23:38.098> to<00:23:38.178> the<00:23:38.242> other<00:23:38.483> extreme<00:23:38.981> where<00:23:39.286> you<00:23:39.383> can<00:23:39.544> just<00:23:39.785> be,<00:23:41.070> you<00:23:41.150> know,<00:23:41.471> shelled<00:23:41.809> in<00:23:41.937> your<00:23:42.211> kind<00:23:43.062> of<00:23:43.319> four<00:23:43.705> walls<00:23:44.122> and<00:23:44.444> work<00:23:44.765> for<00:23:44.910> a<00:23:44.990> long<00:23:45.167> period<00:23:45.327> of<00:23:45.472> time.

00:23:45.890 --> 00:23:48.508
But<00:23:46.034> I'm<00:23:46.195> not<00:23:46.340> sure<00:23:46.520> if<00:23:46.619> that's<00:23:46.865> the<00:23:46.947> most<00:23:47.259> healthy<00:23:47.687> way<00:23:47.851> to<00:23:48.081> think<00:23:48.262> about<00:23:48.442> it.

00:23:48.772 --> 00:23:50.043
From<00:23:48.933> a<00:23:48.949> mental<00:23:49.335> health<00:23:49.576> standpoint.

00:23:50.139 --> 00:23:54.032
So<00:23:51.088> I<00:23:51.104> actually<00:23:51.571> feel<00:23:52.053> that<00:23:52.391> hybrid<00:23:53.179> is<00:23:53.437> very<00:23:53.678> real.

00:23:55.029 --> 00:23:55.849
It's<00:23:55.142> here<00:23:55.367> to<00:23:55.447> stay.

00:23:56.493 --> 00:24:01.537
I<00:23:56.573> don't<00:23:56.798> think<00:23:56.959> you're<00:23:57.072> going<00:23:57.217> to<00:23:57.297> go<00:23:57.458> into<00:23:57.699> an<00:23:57.780> extreme<00:23:58.212> world<00:23:58.536> that<00:23:59.104> it's<00:23:59.737> all<00:23:59.915> in<00:24:00.061> office<00:24:00.483> or<00:24:00.629> all<00:24:01.196> at<00:24:01.294> home.

00:24:01.699 --> 00:24:03.288
You're<00:24:02.348> going<00:24:02.461> to<00:24:02.575> find<00:24:02.769> a<00:24:02.834> middle<00:24:03.142> ground.

00:24:05.276 --> 00:24:11.007
And<00:24:05.872> I<00:24:05.952> think<00:24:06.178> every<00:24:06.403> company<00:24:06.645> is<00:24:06.741> taking<00:24:08.110> what<00:24:08.287> is<00:24:08.432> the<00:24:08.576> right<00:24:10.058> solution<00:24:10.685> for<00:24:10.846> them.

00:24:11.796 --> 00:24:23.840
You<00:24:11.828> know,<00:24:12.134> you're<00:24:12.311> a<00:24:12.376> creative<00:24:12.859> company,<00:24:14.050> you're<00:24:14.211> going<00:24:14.292> to<00:24:14.388> bring<00:24:14.694> a<00:24:14.775> lot<00:24:14.936> of<00:24:15.017> creative<00:24:15.437> functions<00:24:16.165> together<00:24:16.893> because<00:24:17.443> that's<00:24:18.090> the<00:24:18.251> best<00:24:18.381> way<00:24:18.413> you<00:24:18.445> assume<00:24:18.510> that<00:24:18.575> the<00:24:20.613> the<00:24:20.693> human<00:24:21.014> productivity<00:24:21.640> is<00:24:21.737> at<00:24:21.897> its<00:24:22.058> best<00:24:22.780> in<00:24:22.941> certain<00:24:23.326> environments.

00:24:23.889 --> 00:24:30.457
So<00:24:23.969> some<00:24:24.145> things<00:24:24.386> are<00:24:24.483> done<00:24:24.708> better,<00:24:25.816> you<00:24:25.848> know,<00:24:27.421> by<00:24:27.534> sitting<00:24:27.919> together<00:24:29.525> in<00:24:29.670> an<00:24:29.830> office<00:24:30.087> space.

00:24:30.569 --> 00:24:33.941
And<00:24:30.665> so<00:24:30.890> those<00:24:31.083> functions<00:24:31.918> will<00:24:32.721> eventually<00:24:33.122> graduate<00:24:33.540> towards<00:24:33.765> that.

00:24:34.728 --> 00:24:39.562
But<00:24:35.210> I<00:24:35.306> do<00:24:35.531> believe<00:24:35.788> that<00:24:35.933> there<00:24:36.029> are<00:24:36.109> a<00:24:36.174> whole<00:24:36.350> bunch<00:24:36.527> of<00:24:36.671> things<00:24:36.976> that,<00:24:38.117> that<00:24:38.261> actually<00:24:38.598> can<00:24:38.759> work<00:24:38.984> from<00:24:39.144> anywhere.

00:24:40.108 --> 00:24:43.866
And<00:24:40.285> it<00:24:40.429> actually<00:24:40.702> is<00:24:40.847> an<00:24:40.927> advantage<00:24:41.473> for<00:24:41.585> a<00:24:41.650> lot<00:24:42.838> of<00:24:43.095> employees<00:24:43.400> to<00:24:43.561> think<00:24:43.673> about<00:24:43.801> it.

00:24:43.914 --> 00:24:56.687
So<00:24:44.380> we<00:24:44.524> kind<00:24:44.701> of<00:24:45.488> ourselves<00:24:45.905> at<00:24:46.002> a<00:24:46.130> place<00:24:46.467> where<00:24:46.628> we<00:24:46.756> have<00:24:46.804> said<00:24:47.110> that<00:24:47.896> We<00:24:48.217> are<00:24:49.212> going<00:24:49.372> to<00:24:49.436> give<00:24:49.597> some<00:24:49.821> more<00:24:49.998> time<00:24:50.704> for<00:24:50.800> the<00:24:50.880> hybrid<00:24:51.281> world<00:24:53.270> and<00:24:54.089> think<00:24:54.329> the<00:24:54.490> jury<00:24:54.714> is<00:24:54.746> still<00:24:55.115> out<00:24:55.596> on<00:24:55.693> where<00:24:55.869> it<00:24:55.998> will<00:24:56.078> finally<00:24:56.479> land.

00:24:56.735 --> 00:25:03.762
But<00:24:58.019> I<00:24:58.099> think<00:24:58.340> my<00:24:58.645> better<00:24:59.366> answer<00:24:59.719> tells<00:25:00.265> me<00:25:00.489> that<00:25:00.842> I<00:25:00.923> think<00:25:01.211> either<00:25:01.372> which<00:25:01.548> way<00:25:01.596> we're<00:25:01.709> going<00:25:01.933> to<00:25:02.655> be<00:25:02.735> very<00:25:02.976> comfortable<00:25:03.618> going.

00:25:04.115 --> 00:25:07.933
And<00:25:04.211> so<00:25:04.356> we're<00:25:04.452> not<00:25:04.660> that<00:25:04.821> fixated<00:25:05.302> about<00:25:05.559> it<00:25:05.719> and<00:25:05.799> we're<00:25:05.960> just<00:25:06.120> taking<00:25:07.307> as<00:25:07.404> we<00:25:07.564> go<00:25:07.724> along.

00:25:08.109 --> 00:25:17.716
I<00:25:08.142> mean,<00:25:08.446> if,<00:25:08.751> if,<00:25:09.345> if<00:25:09.473> 80%<00:25:09.970> of<00:25:10.051> my<00:25:10.275> customers<00:25:10.756> come<00:25:10.917> and<00:25:11.013> say,<00:25:12.216> I<00:25:12.297> need<00:25:12.521> all<00:25:12.617> of<00:25:12.762> your<00:25:13.002> teams<00:25:13.419> to<00:25:13.564> be<00:25:14.875> in<00:25:15.022> office<00:25:15.692> servicing<00:25:16.181> me,<00:25:16.737> I<00:25:16.835> think<00:25:16.998> we'll<00:25:17.145> have<00:25:17.243> no<00:25:17.390> choice.

00:25:17.977 --> 00:25:18.369
We<00:25:18.124> move<00:25:18.304> it.

00:25:19.850 --> 00:25:26.216
Since<00:25:19.962> taking<00:25:20.365> the<00:25:20.510> role<00:25:21.155> of<00:25:21.332> CEO,<00:25:22.299> what<00:25:22.509> have<00:25:22.622> you<00:25:22.863> learned<00:25:23.266> about<00:25:23.653> leadership<00:25:25.039> that<00:25:25.265> surprised<00:25:26.103> you?

00:25:26.490 --> 00:25:35.627
And<00:25:26.651> what<00:25:26.796> have<00:25:26.957> you<00:25:27.118> learned<00:25:27.456> about<00:25:27.843> leadership<00:25:28.198> that<00:25:28.326> you<00:25:28.359> like,<00:25:29.050> you<00:25:29.227> knew<00:25:29.613> was<00:25:30.176> part<00:25:30.433> of<00:25:31.237> leading<00:25:31.559> a<00:25:31.639> company<00:25:32.347> or<00:25:32.829> leading<00:25:33.167> people<00:25:33.955> or,<00:25:34.679> you<00:25:34.791> know,<00:25:34.936> setting<00:25:35.274> a<00:25:35.322> mission?

00:25:38.096 --> 00:25:50.296
And<00:25:38.459> so<00:25:40.057> I<00:25:40.153> think<00:25:40.314> that's<00:25:41.439> a<00:25:41.520> very<00:25:41.905> deep<00:25:42.146> question,<00:25:42.564> and<00:25:42.661> I'm<00:25:42.805> going<00:25:42.902> to<00:25:43.030> try<00:25:43.288> to<00:25:45.393> respond<00:25:46.181> in<00:25:46.325> some<00:25:46.583> form,<00:25:47.209> a<00:25:47.290> little<00:25:47.467> bit<00:25:47.611> more<00:25:47.788> progressive<00:25:49.315> thinking<00:25:49.637> in<00:25:49.798> that<00:25:50.039> way.

00:25:50.827 --> 00:25:56.682
As<00:25:50.924> you<00:25:51.004> see,<00:25:51.229> look,<00:25:51.390> I<00:25:51.487> think<00:25:51.728> surprises<00:25:52.532> to<00:25:52.677> me,<00:25:53.642> look,<00:25:54.204> leadership<00:25:55.507> is<00:25:55.732> a<00:25:56.134> learning<00:25:56.392> journey.

00:25:58.732 --> 00:26:02.136
I<00:25:58.877> don't<00:25:59.119> feel<00:26:00.168> as<00:26:00.329> a<00:26:00.426> leader,<00:26:01.539> you<00:26:01.636> stop<00:26:02.024> learning.

00:26:03.331 --> 00:26:19.084
So<00:26:03.895> to<00:26:04.041> me,<00:26:04.864> I<00:26:04.944> think<00:26:05.428> the<00:26:07.109> The<00:26:07.254> greatest<00:26:07.734> source<00:26:08.199> of<00:26:08.616> learning,<00:26:09.818> particularly<00:26:10.540> with<00:26:10.700> my<00:26:11.662> current<00:26:11.983> role,<00:26:13.249> is<00:26:13.586> this<00:26:13.826> idea<00:26:14.227> of<00:26:14.708> trying<00:26:15.108> to<00:26:16.631> run<00:26:16.872> a<00:26:16.936> private<00:26:17.353> company<00:26:17.818> with<00:26:17.930> a<00:26:18.074> public<00:26:18.379> company<00:26:18.651> mindset.

00:26:20.222 --> 00:26:21.296
How<00:26:20.318> do<00:26:20.382> you<00:26:20.559> do<00:26:20.719> that,<00:26:21.104> right?

00:26:21.857 --> 00:26:30.786
So<00:26:22.226> you<00:26:22.547> think<00:26:22.787> of<00:26:22.899> it<00:26:23.027> that<00:26:23.204> way,<00:26:23.364> that<00:26:23.508> if<00:26:23.605> you're<00:26:23.749> a<00:26:23.829> public<00:26:24.085> company,<00:26:24.486> you<00:26:24.630> are<00:26:24.727> sort<00:26:24.887> of<00:26:25.608> driving<00:26:26.009> a<00:26:26.073> level<00:26:26.330> of<00:26:26.410> accountability<00:26:27.853> where<00:26:28.157> every<00:26:28.334> 3<00:26:28.510> months<00:26:28.798> you<00:26:28.879> have<00:26:29.135> to<00:26:29.215> get<00:26:29.375> in<00:26:29.456> front<00:26:29.696> of<00:26:29.856> your<00:26:29.953> investors.

00:26:32.663 --> 00:26:37.218
Kind<00:26:32.921> of<00:26:32.970> answering<00:26:34.343> what<00:26:34.504> you<00:26:34.601> said<00:26:34.908> you're<00:26:35.005> going<00:26:35.150> to<00:26:35.247> do,<00:26:36.297> whether<00:26:36.523> you<00:26:36.620> did<00:26:36.782> that<00:26:36.960> or<00:26:37.105> not.

00:26:37.347 --> 00:26:41.773
And<00:26:37.428> so<00:26:37.573> they<00:26:37.670> are<00:26:37.832> testing<00:26:38.236> you<00:26:39.431> on<00:26:39.528> your<00:26:39.690> commitment<00:26:40.239> and<00:26:40.336> your<00:26:40.562> promise<00:26:41.063> every<00:26:41.305> 3<00:26:41.466> months.

00:26:42.742 --> 00:26:49.185
I<00:26:42.839> think<00:26:43.081> as<00:26:43.162> a<00:26:43.226> private<00:26:43.711> company,<00:26:44.211> you<00:26:44.308> sometimes<00:26:46.714> lose<00:26:47.263> that<00:26:47.441> sense<00:26:47.909> of<00:26:48.491> accountability.

00:26:49.363 --> 00:26:59.269
And<00:26:49.524> so<00:26:49.702> you<00:26:50.170> assume<00:26:50.573> you<00:26:50.734> have<00:26:53.074> a<00:26:53.154> little<00:26:53.332> bit<00:26:53.477> of<00:26:53.638> space,<00:26:54.058> and<00:26:54.284> that<00:26:55.106> takes<00:26:55.348> you<00:26:55.494> in<00:26:55.590> a<00:26:55.671> place<00:26:56.074> which<00:26:56.881> somewhat<00:26:57.365> doesn't<00:26:57.849> always<00:26:58.252> drive<00:26:58.494> the<00:26:58.656> best<00:26:58.978> performance.

00:26:59.526 --> 00:27:09.637
And<00:26:59.686> so<00:26:59.846> I<00:26:59.942> think<00:27:00.167> I<00:27:00.263> always<00:27:00.583> believe<00:27:00.904> that<00:27:01.865> if<00:27:02.170> you<00:27:02.266> run<00:27:02.506> to,<00:27:02.923> if<00:27:03.051> you<00:27:03.147> know<00:27:03.532> how<00:27:03.692> to<00:27:03.852> operate<00:27:04.125> a<00:27:04.253> private<00:27:04.589> company<00:27:04.910> with<00:27:05.054> a<00:27:05.150> public<00:27:05.391> company<00:27:05.775> mindset,<00:27:06.512> I<00:27:06.592> think<00:27:07.794> that's<00:27:08.179> a<00:27:08.355> very<00:27:08.579> different<00:27:08.900> challenge<00:27:09.301> in<00:27:09.397> itself.

00:27:09.733 --> 00:27:25.517
So<00:27:09.861> I<00:27:09.958> think<00:27:10.118> to<00:27:10.214> me,<00:27:10.983> my<00:27:11.143> big<00:27:11.256> set<00:27:11.480> of<00:27:11.640> learning<00:27:13.243> in<00:27:13.387> being<00:27:13.563> the<00:27:13.659> CEO<00:27:14.108> for<00:27:14.204> Bristlecone<00:27:15.486> is<00:27:15.726> driving<00:27:16.127> that<00:27:16.287> sense<00:27:16.592> of<00:27:16.688> accountability<00:27:17.890> while<00:27:18.210> keeping<00:27:18.995> a<00:27:19.156> lot<00:27:19.412> of<00:27:19.572> good<00:27:19.813> things<00:27:20.053> around<00:27:20.534> empowerment,<00:27:21.976> leadership<00:27:22.376> progression,<00:27:23.979> vibrant<00:27:24.444> cultures<00:27:24.940> and<00:27:25.085> so<00:27:25.261> forth.

00:27:26.048 --> 00:27:29.992
Have<00:27:26.305> to<00:27:26.402> stay<00:27:27.432> no<00:27:27.529> matter<00:27:27.835> which<00:27:28.060> company<00:27:28.463> you<00:27:28.559> are<00:27:28.656> at,<00:27:28.962> what<00:27:29.123> type<00:27:29.284> of<00:27:29.364> company<00:27:29.686> you<00:27:29.783> are<00:27:29.928> in.

00:27:30.073 --> 00:27:32.375
But<00:27:30.169> there<00:27:30.330> are<00:27:30.363> sometimes<00:27:31.602> you<00:27:31.763> come<00:27:31.941> with<00:27:32.069> that<00:27:32.182> challenge.

00:27:32.424 --> 00:27:43.693
And<00:27:32.649> I<00:27:32.746> think<00:27:33.212> in<00:27:33.374> our<00:27:33.535> functional<00:27:34.018> challenge<00:27:34.436> for<00:27:34.597> us<00:27:34.839> is<00:27:34.984> really<00:27:35.322> on<00:27:35.482> supply<00:27:35.884> chain<00:27:36.832> and<00:27:37.153> how<00:27:37.314> can<00:27:37.491> we<00:27:38.118> really<00:27:38.439> play<00:27:38.857> a<00:27:39.001> very<00:27:39.242> impactful<00:27:39.740> and<00:27:39.901> meaningful<00:27:40.319> role<00:27:42.295> in<00:27:42.392> the<00:27:42.552> modernization<00:27:43.436> journey.

00:27:44.143 --> 00:27:46.683
You<00:27:44.175> know,<00:27:44.400> that's<00:27:44.690> the<00:27:44.803> early<00:27:45.030> problem<00:27:45.548> statement<00:27:46.002> I<00:27:46.083> talked<00:27:46.359> about.

00:27:47.299 --> 00:27:54.588
And<00:27:47.412> so<00:27:47.866> how<00:27:48.044> can<00:27:48.692> I<00:27:48.935> lead<00:27:49.243> with<00:27:49.405> that<00:27:49.583> conversation<00:27:50.540> is<00:27:50.637> that<00:27:51.717> I<00:27:51.813> think<00:27:52.037> otherwise,<00:27:52.519> I<00:27:52.615> feel<00:27:53.000> leadership<00:27:53.497> is<00:27:53.641> always<00:27:53.914> a<00:27:53.978> learning<00:27:54.299> journey.

00:27:54.684 --> 00:28:00.764
And<00:27:54.877> so<00:27:55.406> you<00:27:55.502> learn<00:27:55.823> every<00:27:56.064> single<00:27:56.384> day<00:27:57.748> in<00:27:57.908> life<00:27:58.293> and<00:27:59.753> you<00:27:59.913> take<00:28:00.154> good<00:28:00.379> calls.

00:28:01.197 --> 00:28:03.041
I<00:28:01.277> mean,<00:28:01.421> you<00:28:01.582> take<00:28:01.822> all<00:28:01.999> calls<00:28:02.320> with<00:28:02.480> good<00:28:02.656> intent.

00:28:03.924 --> 00:28:07.148
Some<00:28:04.164> ends<00:28:04.485> up<00:28:04.629> being<00:28:04.806> the<00:28:04.950> right<00:28:05.191> calls<00:28:05.528> and<00:28:05.608> some<00:28:05.849> don't<00:28:06.009> end<00:28:06.185> up<00:28:06.330> being<00:28:06.554> the<00:28:06.586> right<00:28:06.811> calls.

00:28:07.276 --> 00:28:15.666
And<00:28:08.575> part<00:28:08.800> of<00:28:08.880> the<00:28:08.976> thing<00:28:09.217> is<00:28:09.378> to<00:28:09.714> fail<00:28:10.003> fast<00:28:10.404> and<00:28:10.821> learn<00:28:11.062> from<00:28:11.206> your<00:28:11.367> mistakes<00:28:11.848> and<00:28:12.906> build<00:28:14.110> those<00:28:14.350> concepts<00:28:15.136> and<00:28:15.232> go<00:28:15.329> forward.

00:28:15.730 --> 00:28:18.007
It's<00:28:15.874> like<00:28:16.018> Clay<00:28:16.259> Christensen<00:28:16.772> says<00:28:17.093> it<00:28:17.318> beautifully,<00:28:17.879> right?

00:28:18.184 --> 00:28:21.939
Nobody<00:28:19.147> better<00:28:19.403> than<00:28:19.628> him<00:28:19.805> in<00:28:19.901> saying<00:28:20.286> it,<00:28:20.447> that<00:28:20.992> all<00:28:21.089> of<00:28:21.169> these<00:28:21.410> are<00:28:21.490> theories.

00:28:22.758 --> 00:28:30.398
When<00:28:22.870> a<00:28:22.999> person<00:28:23.336> is<00:28:23.400> sharing<00:28:23.817> their<00:28:23.978> point<00:28:24.202> of<00:28:24.299> view,<00:28:24.700> there<00:28:24.860> is<00:28:24.957> a<00:28:25.085> theory<00:28:25.422> they<00:28:25.583> have<00:28:25.743> built,<00:28:26.128> and<00:28:26.225> they<00:28:26.305> have<00:28:26.465> a<00:28:26.546> theory<00:28:26.883> about<00:28:27.990> if<00:28:28.135> you<00:28:28.295> do<00:28:28.472> these<00:28:28.793> things,<00:28:29.178> you,<00:28:29.515> you<00:28:29.675> get<00:28:29.836> this<00:28:30.061> outcome.

00:28:31.505 --> 00:28:41.472
And<00:28:33.046> the<00:28:33.126> surprise<00:28:33.688> comes<00:28:34.009> in<00:28:34.410> when<00:28:34.555> you<00:28:34.811> go<00:28:35.052> through<00:28:35.148> a<00:28:35.277> different<00:28:35.614> path<00:28:36.721> and<00:28:37.283> you<00:28:37.379> get<00:28:37.540> the<00:28:37.620> same<00:28:37.925> outcome,<00:28:38.342> or<00:28:38.423> sometimes<00:28:39.466> you<00:28:39.610> get<00:28:39.851> a<00:28:39.931> different<00:28:40.268> path<00:28:40.509> and<00:28:40.573> you<00:28:40.670> get<00:28:40.878> a<00:28:40.910> better<00:28:41.151> outcome.

00:28:41.649 --> 00:28:50.127
So,<00:28:41.777> and<00:28:41.954> I<00:28:42.034> think<00:28:42.194> people<00:28:42.612> start<00:28:42.981> to<00:28:43.141> learn<00:28:43.462> on<00:28:43.559> those<00:28:43.799> theories<00:28:45.201> and<00:28:45.525> they<00:28:45.703> believe<00:28:46.108> that<00:28:46.270> that<00:28:46.497> could<00:28:46.594> be<00:28:46.756> a<00:28:46.902> way<00:28:47.891> to<00:28:48.036> really<00:28:48.361> deploy<00:28:49.025> and<00:28:49.187> solve<00:28:49.446> certain<00:28:49.754> problems.

00:28:50.224 --> 00:28:57.393
So<00:28:50.321> I<00:28:50.483> think<00:28:51.536> leadership<00:28:52.087> is,<00:28:52.411> in<00:28:52.509> my<00:28:52.687> opinion,<00:28:53.141> an<00:28:53.238> important<00:28:53.643> role,<00:28:53.950> and<00:28:55.728> no<00:28:55.890> leader<00:28:56.084> stops<00:28:57.102> learning.

00:28:57.442 --> 00:29:03.568
I<00:28:57.522> mean,<00:28:57.846> they<00:28:58.088> just<00:28:58.557> sort<00:28:58.735> of<00:28:59.527> have<00:28:59.624> to<00:28:59.769> constantly<00:29:00.254> look<00:29:00.497> at<00:29:02.517> what<00:29:02.760> works<00:29:03.083> and<00:29:03.164> what<00:29:03.310> doesn't<00:29:03.487> work.

00:29:03.746 --> 00:29:15.053
And<00:29:03.826> I<00:29:03.988> think<00:29:04.295> you<00:29:04.392> should<00:29:04.634> look<00:29:04.860> at<00:29:04.973> not<00:29:05.200> just<00:29:05.765> what<00:29:06.007> works<00:29:06.250> and<00:29:06.395> doesn't<00:29:06.718> work<00:29:06.896> from<00:29:07.057> your<00:29:07.300> lens,<00:29:07.542> but<00:29:07.687> also<00:29:07.946> learn<00:29:08.188> from<00:29:10.272> others,<00:29:10.756> you<00:29:10.853> know,<00:29:11.015> in<00:29:11.160> terms<00:29:11.483> of<00:29:11.843> the<00:29:12.005> good<00:29:12.167> things<00:29:12.475> and<00:29:12.573> the<00:29:12.718> bad<00:29:12.962> things<00:29:14.113> that<00:29:14.356> they<00:29:14.518> make<00:29:14.664> the<00:29:14.761> call<00:29:14.891> on.

00:29:17.170 --> 00:29:19.925
Nirav,<00:29:17.588> I<00:29:17.685> can't<00:29:17.927> thank<00:29:18.104> you<00:29:18.168> enough<00:29:18.491> for<00:29:18.732> taking<00:29:18.974> the<00:29:19.055> time<00:29:19.232> to<00:29:19.296> speak<00:29:19.602> with<00:29:19.763> us.

00:29:20.086 --> 00:29:27.902
This<00:29:20.247> has<00:29:20.424> been<00:29:20.585> so<00:29:20.762> fascinating,<00:29:21.697> and<00:29:21.793> the<00:29:21.938> way<00:29:22.180> you<00:29:22.261> think<00:29:22.454> about<00:29:22.680> the<00:29:22.760> world<00:29:23.308> and<00:29:23.469> leadership<00:29:24.677> and<00:29:25.161> technology<00:29:26.692> is<00:29:27.031> just<00:29:27.209> so<00:29:27.435> beautiful.

00:29:27.999 --> 00:29:28.403
I<00:29:28.064> love<00:29:28.257> it.

00:29:28.790 --> 00:29:39.048
We<00:29:28.951> end<00:29:29.113> every<00:29:29.613> interview<00:29:29.952> the<00:29:30.081> exact<00:29:30.436> same<00:29:30.726> way<00:29:31.775> at<00:29:32.210> CEO.com,<00:29:33.307> and<00:29:33.404> that<00:29:33.711> is,<00:29:34.130> here<00:29:35.002> we<00:29:35.098> believe<00:29:35.486> the<00:29:35.583> chances<00:29:36.071> one<00:29:36.299> gives<00:29:36.576> are<00:29:36.641> just<00:29:36.901> as<00:29:37.031> important<00:29:37.454> as<00:29:37.600> the<00:29:37.698> chances<00:29:38.332> one<00:29:38.593> takes.

00:29:39.637 --> 00:29:44.818
And<00:29:39.734> I<00:29:39.865> wonder<00:29:40.191> when<00:29:40.353> you<00:29:40.533> hear<00:29:40.924> that,<00:29:42.146> who<00:29:42.309> comes<00:29:42.586> to<00:29:42.684> mind<00:29:43.303> that<00:29:43.466> may<00:29:43.629> have<00:29:43.792> given<00:29:44.117> you<00:29:44.297> a<00:29:44.362> chance?

00:29:48.078 --> 00:29:53.625
I<00:29:48.174> have<00:29:48.480> a<00:29:48.721> couple<00:29:48.978> of<00:29:49.123> names<00:29:49.525> that<00:29:52.676> come<00:29:52.901> to<00:29:52.982> my<00:29:53.158> mind.

00:29:54.107 --> 00:30:05.475
I<00:29:54.203> would<00:29:54.348> say<00:29:54.670> that,<00:29:55.634> you<00:29:55.667> know,<00:29:55.731> I<00:29:55.892> always<00:29:57.263> cherish<00:29:57.828> the<00:29:57.908> relationships<00:29:58.699> I've<00:29:58.860> had<00:29:59.038> with<00:29:59.183> them,<00:29:59.360> and<00:29:59.522> two<00:29:59.683> of<00:29:59.828> them<00:30:01.361> have<00:30:01.603> been<00:30:02.248> my<00:30:02.426> bosses<00:30:03.216> in<00:30:03.313> my<00:30:03.539> past<00:30:04.523> life<00:30:04.910> on<00:30:04.991> the<00:30:05.088> work<00:30:05.330> front.

00:30:06.327 --> 00:30:14.055
Um,<00:30:09.509> one<00:30:09.753> is,<00:30:10.142> uh,<00:30:11.376> one<00:30:11.538> of<00:30:11.620> the<00:30:11.782> person<00:30:12.659> was<00:30:12.918> when<00:30:13.146> I<00:30:13.227> was<00:30:13.405> back<00:30:13.665> in<00:30:13.811> India.

00:30:14.120 --> 00:30:14.768
His<00:30:14.282> name<00:30:14.444> is<00:30:14.510> Mahesh.

00:30:15.574 --> 00:30:27.277
Um,<00:30:16.784> he<00:30:16.946> gave<00:30:17.107> me<00:30:17.268> a<00:30:17.285> chance<00:30:17.672> to<00:30:17.769> be<00:30:18.656> a<00:30:18.737> business<00:30:19.140> unit<00:30:19.447> head<00:30:19.624> for<00:30:19.769> the<00:30:19.866> first<00:30:20.108> time<00:30:20.592> in<00:30:20.657> my<00:30:20.834> life,<00:30:22.028> uh,<00:30:22.432> and<00:30:22.512> I<00:30:22.609> thought<00:30:22.851> that<00:30:22.996> was<00:30:23.174> a<00:30:23.238> little<00:30:23.416> bit<00:30:24.222> ahead<00:30:24.463> of<00:30:24.624> my<00:30:24.865> own<00:30:25.010> expectations<00:30:25.814> that<00:30:25.975> I<00:30:26.071> will<00:30:26.473> get<00:30:26.634> to<00:30:26.779> do<00:30:26.955> that.

00:30:27.840 --> 00:30:35.127
I<00:30:27.904> used<00:30:28.081> to<00:30:28.161> be<00:30:28.499> a<00:30:28.628> developer,<00:30:29.287> project<00:30:30.332> person<00:30:30.879> working<00:30:31.200> on<00:30:31.297> projects,<00:30:32.165> and<00:30:32.820> he<00:30:32.918> took<00:30:33.081> a<00:30:33.098> chance<00:30:33.507> on<00:30:33.671> me<00:30:34.325> to<00:30:34.489> run<00:30:34.735> a<00:30:34.816> business<00:30:34.964> unit.

00:30:37.112 --> 00:30:44.599
And<00:30:38.060> there's<00:30:38.397> another<00:30:38.718> person<00:30:39.040> that<00:30:39.200> comes<00:30:39.393> to<00:30:39.522> my<00:30:39.618> mind,<00:30:40.791> which<00:30:40.968> is<00:30:41.128> my<00:30:41.305> second<00:30:41.755> phase<00:30:42.157> when<00:30:42.237> I<00:30:42.333> came<00:30:42.574> to<00:30:42.671> the<00:30:42.816> US,<00:30:43.860> Raj<00:30:44.181> Mehta.
