# Practice at game speed

Adam Sullivan joined Core Scientific in April 2023, four months into the company's Chapter 11 process. He knew what he was walking into. As a banker at [XMS Capital Partners](https://corescientific.com/about/leadership/?ref=ceo.com), where he led the digital assets and infrastructure practice and oversaw more than $5 billion in transactions, he had advised on the SPAC deal that took Core Scientific public in January 2022\. The company he helped bring to market lasted 11 months as a public company before it filed for bankruptcy. By August 2023, its board had [named him chief executive](https://investors.corescientific.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/61/core-scientific-inc-appoints-adam-sullivan-as-ceo-to-lead-the-companys-next-phase-of-growth?ref=ceo.com).

Sullivan spoke with the CEO.com Podcast in the weeks after Core Scientific returned to the Nasdaq, and much of the conversation focused on how a company that big can fail that fast. Core Scientific was the largest Bitcoin miner in North America. It held more than $600 million in Bitcoin on its balance sheet when prices collapsed. The war in Ukraine drove up natural gas prices and compressed mining margins. Debt sat above $1 billion.

"It became a leveraged free cash flow compression situation where we just didn't have the free cash flow to support our debt load," Sullivan said.

His account of the bankruptcy itself is stranger than the standard war story. "It was a really great cleansing process for us as a company," he told the CEO.com Podcast. "Very few companies that have grown as aggressively as Core did have the opportunity to take a year and say, how do we improve our business as a whole?" The company spent that year improving efficiency at the facility level, reorganizing its teams, and cutting its debt load by about $400 million.

The harder work was keeping people from checking out. Sullivan's method was to set goals past the point of comfort. "You can set these long-term goals of saying a year from now, we want to be at X. My perspective, you should set it at Z so that X is the worst-case scenario," he said. He borrowed the frame from Derek Jeter, who practiced at game speed so the games held no surprises, and he treated the restructuring as Core Scientific's preseason. "Let's practice at game speed and put in the right processes so that when we finally get back on the playing field, we're ready to play at game speed."

Core Scientific relisted on the Nasdaq on January 24, 2024\. Sullivan rang the closing bell that Friday with his team. "It was the closing of one chapter and the opening of the next," he said.

He also told the CEO.com Podcast, almost in passing, the line that explains everything that came after. Core Scientific, he said, is "a refining business that refines power into computing." Bitcoin was the application that built the infrastructure. It was not the only thing the infrastructure could do.

The AI boom proved it. Core Scientific repositioned its gigawatt-scale footprint toward high-density colocation for AI compute, and in July 2025, CoreWeave, the AI cloud provider, agreed to acquire the company in an all-stock deal valued at roughly $9 billion. It was CoreWeave's second attempt after an all-cash offer in June 2024\. [The board recommended the sale](https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/30/core-scientific-shareholders-reject-9-billion-coreweave-offer-deal-terminated.html?ref=ceo.com). In October 2025, shareholders voted it down, and Core Scientific [terminated the merger agreement](https://investors.corescientific.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/124/core-scientific-announces-termination-of-merger-agreement-with-coreweave?ref=ceo.com) the same day. The opposition was led by [Two Seas Capital](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/two-seas-capital-core-scientifics-largest-active-shareholder-announces-intention-to-vote-against-the-proposed-sale-to-coreweave-302524612.html?ref=ceo.com), the company's largest active shareholder, which argued the sale materially undervalued a business that could stand on its own.

The shareholders have a case. In its [second quarter 2026 results](https://investors.corescientific.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/139/core-scientific-announces-second-quarter-2026-results?ref=ceo.com), Core Scientific announced a partnership with AMD that could support up to 2.5 gigawatts of leasable capacity, anchored by 15-year agreements for about 530 megawatts across five sites and more than $14 billion in potential base contracted revenue. Total leased customer power capacity now stands at about 1.1 gigawatts, representing more than $24 billion in potential contracted revenue. [First quarter revenue](https://investors.corescientific.com/news-events/press-releases/detail/136/core-scientific-announces-first-quarter-fiscal-year-2026-results?ref=ceo.com) came in at $115.2 million, up from $79.5 million a year earlier, with colocation revenue growing from $8.6 million to $77.5 million. The company also closed a $3.3 billion senior secured notes offering. In 2022, a third of that debt load put it in bankruptcy court.

Every CEO.com Podcast episode ends with the same question, because the chances one gives are just as important as the chances one takes. Sullivan's answer was Ted Brombach, a partner at XMS Capital who backed him in 2017 when he pitched a crypto investment banking practice to a traditional firm, then stayed with him when the industry cratered a year later.

"He stuck with me through the course of 2018 when we went into a deep crypto winter, and it felt like the industry was falling apart," Sullivan said. "He really stuck by me, was a great mentor, still is an amazing mentor to me."

00:00:07.600 --> 00:00:09.641
Adam,<00:00:07.859> thank<00:00:08.118> you<00:00:08.199> so<00:00:08.491> much<00:00:08.895> for<00:00:08.993> coming<00:00:09.300> on<00:00:09.381> the<00:00:09.462> show.

00:00:09.964 --> 00:00:10.645
It<00:00:10.045> means<00:00:10.353> a<00:00:10.434> lot.

00:00:10.758 --> 00:00:13.722
You've<00:00:10.936> been<00:00:11.179> through<00:00:11.341> a<00:00:11.487> lot<00:00:11.908> this<00:00:12.216> year,<00:00:12.475> which,<00:00:12.718> which<00:00:12.945> I<00:00:13.026> want<00:00:13.107> to<00:00:13.204> talk<00:00:13.512> about.

00:00:15.236 --> 00:00:18.003
Uh,<00:00:15.256> but<00:00:15.417> first,<00:00:15.658> just<00:00:15.834> tell<00:00:15.963> us<00:00:16.091> about<00:00:16.621> how<00:00:16.862> you<00:00:16.959> became<00:00:17.505> the<00:00:17.585> CEO.

00:00:20.091 --> 00:00:20.413
Sure.

00:00:20.798 --> 00:00:25.055
Um,<00:00:21.923> I<00:00:21.939> think<00:00:22.003> it<00:00:22.035> would<00:00:22.180> be<00:00:22.324> helpful<00:00:22.646> to<00:00:23.128> give<00:00:23.240> a<00:00:23.256> little<00:00:23.385> bit<00:00:23.465> of<00:00:23.609> background<00:00:24.011> of<00:00:24.091> Core<00:00:24.204> Scientific<00:00:24.750> as<00:00:24.895> well.

00:00:25.530 --> 00:00:28.142
Because<00:00:26.042> it<00:00:26.107> kind<00:00:26.267> of<00:00:26.363> leads<00:00:26.587> into<00:00:26.764> how<00:00:27.325> I<00:00:27.469> came<00:00:27.645> to<00:00:27.725> this<00:00:27.950> role.

00:00:28.927 --> 00:00:32.582
Core<00:00:29.120> Scientific,<00:00:29.649> we're<00:00:29.793> the<00:00:29.825> largest<00:00:30.274> Bitcoin<00:00:30.594> miner<00:00:30.835> in<00:00:30.915> North<00:00:31.091> America<00:00:31.572> for<00:00:31.636> the<00:00:31.732> past<00:00:32.037> 3<00:00:32.197> years.

00:00:33.079 --> 00:00:35.948
We<00:00:33.159> also<00:00:33.479> host<00:00:33.656> equipment<00:00:34.201> for<00:00:34.537> other<00:00:34.698> customers<00:00:35.114> in<00:00:35.178> our<00:00:35.339> data<00:00:35.515> centers.

00:00:37.326 --> 00:00:44.122
We<00:00:37.486> design,<00:00:37.983> develop,<00:00:38.384> and<00:00:38.464> operate<00:00:38.865> digital<00:00:39.185> infrastructure<00:00:40.131> for<00:00:40.307> compute<00:00:40.852> that<00:00:40.965> does<00:00:41.125> not<00:00:41.429> require<00:00:42.375> the<00:00:42.455> traditional<00:00:43.192> data<00:00:43.449> center<00:00:43.753> space.

00:00:44.940 --> 00:00:58.758
So<00:00:45.116> unlike<00:00:45.581> traditional<00:00:45.997> data<00:00:47.296> centers,<00:00:47.760> which<00:00:47.985> require<00:00:48.305> a<00:00:48.321> lot<00:00:48.482> of<00:00:48.578> extra<00:00:48.850> equipment,<00:00:49.363> technology,<00:00:50.726> and<00:00:50.870> considerable<00:00:51.591> other<00:00:52.585> high-expense<00:00:53.354> items,<00:00:54.733> to<00:00:54.877> manage<00:00:55.214> the<00:00:55.294> environmental<00:00:55.776> conditions,<00:00:56.898> we<00:00:56.978> don't<00:00:57.139> need<00:00:57.299> those<00:00:57.475> extra<00:00:57.700> capabilities<00:00:58.341> and<00:00:58.486> costs.

00:00:59.608 --> 00:01:07.178
And<00:01:00.426> so<00:01:00.731> from<00:01:01.709> our<00:01:02.030> perspective,<00:01:03.714> we<00:01:03.874> really<00:01:04.339> focus<00:01:04.756> our<00:01:04.901> growth<00:01:05.302> on<00:01:05.382> that<00:01:05.558> segment<00:01:06.344> of<00:01:06.440> the<00:01:06.601> industry.

00:01:08.541 --> 00:01:10.867
Now,<00:01:08.750> how<00:01:08.830> I<00:01:08.990> came<00:01:09.311> to<00:01:09.407> this<00:01:09.632> role<00:01:10.289> is<00:01:10.434> interesting.

00:01:10.979 --> 00:01:19.527
So<00:01:11.075> I<00:01:11.236> was,<00:01:11.813> I've<00:01:11.893> been<00:01:12.053> in<00:01:12.118> investment<00:01:12.519> banking<00:01:12.839> for<00:01:12.919> the<00:01:13.016> greater<00:01:13.240> part<00:01:13.481> of<00:01:13.513> my<00:01:13.657> career,<00:01:14.764> most<00:01:15.020> recently<00:01:15.501> running<00:01:16.544> what<00:01:16.768> was<00:01:16.865> the<00:01:16.961> most<00:01:17.250> active<00:01:17.747> crypto<00:01:18.051> investment<00:01:18.388> banking<00:01:18.709> team<00:01:18.933> on<00:01:19.014> Wall<00:01:19.126> Street.

00:01:19.912 --> 00:01:21.871
We<00:01:20.008> actually<00:01:20.233> founded<00:01:20.554> the<00:01:20.634> team<00:01:20.859> back<00:01:21.036> in<00:01:21.116> 2017.

00:01:23.284 --> 00:01:31.761
I<00:01:23.444> came<00:01:23.749> from<00:01:24.954> a<00:01:24.970> hedge<00:01:25.275> fund<00:01:25.532> and<00:01:25.676> moved<00:01:25.853> into<00:01:26.013> the<00:01:26.110> investment<00:01:26.495> banking<00:01:26.752> space,<00:01:27.378> which<00:01:28.004> we<00:01:28.084> can<00:01:28.181> talk<00:01:28.438> about,<00:01:28.807> but<00:01:28.984> a<00:01:29.786> big<00:01:29.867> focus<00:01:30.204> of<00:01:30.268> our<00:01:30.413> practice<00:01:30.894> was<00:01:31.135> Bitcoin<00:01:31.408> miners.

00:01:32.741 --> 00:01:37.622
We<00:01:32.837> had<00:01:33.303> worked<00:01:33.479> with<00:01:33.640> many<00:01:33.865> of<00:01:33.945> them<00:01:34.138> since<00:01:34.844> their<00:01:35.165> founding,<00:01:36.048> since<00:01:36.353> many<00:01:36.530> of<00:01:36.610> them<00:01:36.755> were<00:01:36.851> in<00:01:36.996> their<00:01:37.092> infancy.

00:01:38.537 --> 00:01:45.248
We<00:01:38.633> worked<00:01:38.842> on<00:01:38.938> a<00:01:39.083> range<00:01:39.340> of<00:01:39.404> initiatives,<00:01:40.383> but<00:01:40.480> our<00:01:40.560> main<00:01:40.785> focus<00:01:41.170> was<00:01:41.347> really<00:01:41.652> on<00:01:42.134> broad<00:01:42.390> corporate<00:01:42.663> strategy,<00:01:43.755> M&A,<00:01:44.638> and<00:01:44.783> capital<00:01:45.104> raising.

00:01:46.148 --> 00:01:54.402
It<00:01:46.389> was<00:01:46.549> really<00:01:46.742> interesting<00:01:47.272> being<00:01:47.400> able<00:01:47.513> to<00:01:47.689> work<00:01:48.155> through<00:01:48.412> all<00:01:48.508> these<00:01:48.637> challenges<00:01:49.054> and<00:01:49.199> opportunities<00:01:49.777> with<00:01:49.874> each<00:01:49.954> of<00:01:50.114> these<00:01:50.323> companies,<00:01:50.741> which<00:01:50.901> really<00:01:51.142> gave<00:01:51.447> me<00:01:52.893> a<00:01:52.973> unique<00:01:53.310> view<00:01:53.615> on<00:01:53.712> this<00:01:53.872> industry.

00:01:55.061 --> 00:01:59.590
And<00:01:55.784> how<00:01:55.896> I<00:01:56.041> came<00:01:56.185> to<00:01:56.281> Core<00:01:56.442> Scientific<00:01:56.924> was<00:01:57.084> I<00:01:57.165> actually<00:01:57.406> helped<00:01:57.630> take<00:01:57.823> them<00:01:58.032> public<00:01:58.433> back<00:01:58.706> in<00:01:58.851> 2022.

00:02:00.216 --> 00:02:04.006
So<00:02:00.312> I<00:02:00.361> was<00:02:00.602> intimately<00:02:01.083> familiar<00:02:01.421> with<00:02:01.501> the<00:02:01.581> company,<00:02:02.224> intimately<00:02:02.705> familiar<00:02:03.091> with<00:02:03.187> its<00:02:03.348> management<00:02:03.749> team.

00:02:04.472 --> 00:02:10.029
And<00:02:04.552> so<00:02:04.697> really<00:02:04.809> it<00:02:04.857> was<00:02:05.018> a<00:02:05.034> natural<00:02:05.596> fit<00:02:06.078> as<00:02:06.174> they<00:02:06.383> were<00:02:06.479> looking<00:02:07.780> for<00:02:07.989> a<00:02:08.069> president<00:02:08.487> back<00:02:08.744> in<00:02:08.824> 2023.

00:02:10.735 --> 00:02:16.992
So<00:02:10.960> I<00:02:11.057> joined<00:02:11.683> Core<00:02:12.487> as<00:02:12.666> president<00:02:13.219> in<00:02:13.300> April<00:02:13.560> 2023<00:02:14.292> and<00:02:14.439> became<00:02:14.699> the<00:02:14.780> CEO,<00:02:15.983> uh,<00:02:16.146> in<00:02:16.325> August<00:02:16.569> of<00:02:16.650> last<00:02:16.894> year.

00:02:19.333 --> 00:02:24.709
And,<00:02:19.560> uh,<00:02:20.048> what<00:02:20.210> was<00:02:20.307> the<00:02:20.454> process<00:02:21.103> of<00:02:21.347> taking<00:02:21.688> them<00:02:21.850> public,<00:02:22.809> uh,<00:02:24.043> like<00:02:24.352> back<00:02:24.595> then?

00:02:24.758 --> 00:02:27.644
I<00:02:24.790> mean,<00:02:25.408> you're,<00:02:25.732> you're<00:02:25.895> in<00:02:25.976> an<00:02:26.073> interesting<00:02:26.787> industry,<00:02:27.369> right?

00:02:27.757 --> 00:02:46.229
Like,<00:02:28.646> uh,<00:02:28.824> with<00:02:29.067> blockchain<00:02:29.875> and<00:02:30.037> cryptocurrencies<00:02:31.087> and<00:02:31.168> that<00:02:31.411> being<00:02:31.718> like<00:02:32.542> what<00:02:32.704> everybody<00:02:33.092> should<00:02:33.270> be<00:02:33.415> doing<00:02:33.755> maybe<00:02:33.997> 2<00:02:34.078> or<00:02:34.240> 3<00:02:34.401> years<00:02:34.660> ago<00:02:35.032> to<00:02:35.129> like<00:02:35.371> maybe<00:02:35.678> having<00:02:35.937> a<00:02:36.082> little<00:02:36.325> bit<00:02:36.390> of<00:02:36.439> a<00:02:36.505> taint<00:02:36.753> on<00:02:36.836> it<00:02:36.918> now,<00:02:37.166> which,<00:02:37.414> which<00:02:37.579> I'd<00:02:37.728> love<00:02:37.844> to<00:02:37.926> talk<00:02:38.389> to<00:02:38.472> you<00:02:38.554> about<00:02:38.968> a<00:02:39.050> little<00:02:39.149> bit<00:02:39.298> later,<00:02:39.463> but<00:02:39.872> What<00:02:40.018> was<00:02:40.115> the<00:02:40.196> process<00:02:40.683> like<00:02:41.088> taking<00:02:41.429> it<00:02:41.558> public,<00:02:42.775> and<00:02:43.099> what<00:02:43.277> was<00:02:43.505> it<00:02:43.602> like<00:02:43.991> being<00:02:44.315> public,<00:02:45.288> uh,<00:02:45.548> that<00:02:45.775> first<00:02:45.969> time?

00:02:48.396 --> 00:02:53.792
Yeah,<00:02:48.509> so,<00:02:49.919> um,<00:02:50.503> we,<00:02:50.827> we,<00:02:51.134> we<00:02:51.215> started<00:02:51.459> helping<00:02:51.961> take<00:02:52.204> them<00:02:52.366> public<00:02:52.690> back<00:02:52.787> in<00:02:52.836> 2021.

00:02:54.489 --> 00:02:56.815
The<00:02:54.618> company<00:02:54.975> initially<00:02:55.429> came<00:02:55.704> public<00:02:56.076> via<00:02:56.333> SPAC.

00:02:57.442 --> 00:03:07.476
Um,<00:02:58.101> that<00:02:58.262> SPAC<00:02:58.664> was<00:02:58.808> actually<00:02:59.387> owned<00:02:59.628> by,<00:03:00.737> uh,<00:03:01.380> our<00:03:01.717> company,<00:03:02.505> uh,<00:03:02.826> XMS<00:03:03.228> Capital<00:03:03.566> Partners,<00:03:04.449> as<00:03:04.594> well<00:03:04.674> as<00:03:04.933> a,<00:03:05.099> uh,<00:03:05.531> a<00:03:05.598> sister<00:03:06.346> private<00:03:06.662> equity<00:03:06.928> firm<00:03:07.244> as<00:03:07.410> well.

00:03:08.176 --> 00:03:16.400
And<00:03:08.755> so<00:03:09.863> we<00:03:09.959> were<00:03:10.136> not<00:03:10.361> only<00:03:10.602> involved<00:03:11.148> on<00:03:11.244> the<00:03:11.324> capital<00:03:11.726> side<00:03:12.368> in<00:03:12.433> helping<00:03:12.690> them<00:03:12.834> raise<00:03:13.011> capital,<00:03:14.456> but<00:03:14.617> we<00:03:14.665> were<00:03:14.761> also<00:03:15.018> the<00:03:15.115> advisor<00:03:15.564> on<00:03:15.661> the<00:03:15.741> banking<00:03:16.078> side.

00:03:16.464 --> 00:03:18.985
So<00:03:16.849> helping<00:03:17.187> craft<00:03:17.572> the<00:03:17.604> narrative<00:03:18.054> for<00:03:18.134> public<00:03:18.568> markets.

00:03:19.580 --> 00:03:20.768
And<00:03:19.837> it<00:03:19.917> was<00:03:20.078> really<00:03:20.318> interesting.

00:03:20.945 --> 00:03:25.586
Obviously,<00:03:21.282> it<00:03:21.330> was<00:03:21.443> back<00:03:21.764> in<00:03:21.828> the<00:03:21.908> heyday<00:03:22.647> of<00:03:22.904> SPACs,<00:03:23.370> back<00:03:23.611> in<00:03:23.691> 2021<00:03:24.478> when<00:03:24.575> this<00:03:24.799> process<00:03:25.217> began.

00:03:26.245 --> 00:03:41.745
And<00:03:27.064> it<00:03:27.128> was<00:03:27.305> a<00:03:27.449> crypto-focused<00:03:28.188> company,<00:03:28.590> which<00:03:28.815> was<00:03:28.975> kind<00:03:29.152> of<00:03:29.296> a<00:03:29.489> double-edged<00:03:30.838> sword<00:03:31.175> and<00:03:31.240> definitely<00:03:31.738> something<00:03:32.107> that<00:03:33.569> was<00:03:33.793> both<00:03:33.986> a<00:03:34.050> big<00:03:34.211> focus<00:03:34.532> in<00:03:34.613> the<00:03:34.693> public<00:03:35.014> markets<00:03:35.319> at<00:03:35.399> the<00:03:35.480> time,<00:03:35.978> but<00:03:36.363> also<00:03:37.914> was<00:03:38.558> really,<00:03:39.121> you<00:03:39.185> know,<00:03:39.282> kind<00:03:39.540> of<00:03:39.829> a<00:03:39.845> hot<00:03:40.183> topic<00:03:40.811> amongst<00:03:41.214> regulators.

00:03:42.341 --> 00:03:46.364
And<00:03:42.421> so<00:03:43.307> we<00:03:43.387> went<00:03:43.612> through<00:03:43.773> a<00:03:43.854> pretty<00:03:44.176> arduous<00:03:44.578> process,<00:03:45.093> arduous<00:03:45.544> review<00:03:45.786> process.

00:03:48.052 --> 00:03:50.382
But<00:03:48.196> it<00:03:48.277> was,<00:03:48.598> it<00:03:48.839> was<00:03:49.032> a<00:03:49.161> really<00:03:49.402> exciting<00:03:49.675> time<00:03:49.884> in<00:03:49.916> the<00:03:49.980> industry.

00:03:51.571 --> 00:03:54.319
I<00:03:51.652> was<00:03:51.732> not<00:03:51.909> part<00:03:52.134> of<00:03:52.214> the<00:03:52.294> company<00:03:52.696> once<00:03:52.873> they,<00:03:53.355> once<00:03:53.580> they<00:03:53.677> became<00:03:53.998> public.

00:03:54.400 --> 00:03:55.901
I<00:03:54.480> was<00:03:54.625> just<00:03:54.770> an<00:03:54.802> outside<00:03:55.125> advisor<00:03:55.610> to<00:03:55.707> them.

00:03:56.985 --> 00:04:05.797
But<00:03:57.146> we<00:03:57.243> were<00:03:57.324> public<00:03:57.712> for<00:03:58.035> about<00:03:58.585> 11<00:03:58.989> months<00:03:59.879> and<00:04:00.768> we<00:04:00.865> entered,<00:04:01.770> or<00:04:01.835> the<00:04:01.980> company<00:04:02.320> entered<00:04:02.579> into<00:04:03.355> a<00:04:03.597> Chapter<00:04:03.872> 11<00:04:04.098> process<00:04:04.423> in<00:04:04.505> December<00:04:04.985> of<00:04:05.101> 2023.

00:04:07.477 --> 00:04:09.993
What<00:04:07.637> was<00:04:07.814> the<00:04:08.455> kind<00:04:08.615> of<00:04:08.695> conditions<00:04:09.320> that<00:04:09.496> led<00:04:09.736> to<00:04:09.816> that?

00:04:10.057 --> 00:04:12.668
Was<00:04:10.233> it<00:04:10.377> just<00:04:10.601> like<00:04:10.762> the<00:04:10.858> crypto<00:04:11.418> winter,<00:04:12.220> basically?

00:04:13.886 --> 00:04:23.242
Yeah,<00:04:13.966> it<00:04:14.286> was,<00:04:14.527> uh,<00:04:14.927> you<00:04:15.023> know,<00:04:15.248> you<00:04:15.344> take<00:04:15.520> a<00:04:15.584> company<00:04:15.969> that<00:04:16.609> had<00:04:16.770> been<00:04:16.930> going<00:04:17.106> through<00:04:17.282> such<00:04:17.523> aggressive<00:04:17.987> growth<00:04:18.308> for<00:04:19.109> 5<00:04:19.525> to<00:04:19.653> 6<00:04:19.974> years,<00:04:21.095> uh,<00:04:21.432> really<00:04:21.656> focused<00:04:22.073> on<00:04:22.393> infrastructure<00:04:22.954> growth.

00:04:23.338 --> 00:04:29.763
You<00:04:23.370> know,<00:04:23.499> we<00:04:23.659> built<00:04:23.819> the<00:04:23.979> largest<00:04:24.316> infrastructure<00:04:24.956> footprint<00:04:25.421> for<00:04:25.517> Bitcoin<00:04:25.918> mining,<00:04:26.783> uh,<00:04:26.959> in<00:04:27.023> North<00:04:27.280> America,<00:04:28.065> something<00:04:28.337> that<00:04:28.481> we<00:04:28.561> still<00:04:28.786> hold<00:04:28.962> today,<00:04:29.282> that<00:04:29.523> lead.

00:04:30.388 --> 00:04:38.831
Um,<00:04:31.429> and<00:04:31.509> so<00:04:31.990> we<00:04:32.150> entered<00:04:32.390> 2022,<00:04:33.528> you<00:04:33.608> know,<00:04:33.688> the<00:04:33.848> expectation<00:04:34.489> to<00:04:34.569> mine<00:04:34.874> a<00:04:34.890> certain<00:04:35.146> number<00:04:35.386> of<00:04:35.530> Bitcoin,<00:04:36.652> We<00:04:36.796> were<00:04:36.876> holding<00:04:37.277> a<00:04:37.293> significant<00:04:37.710> amount<00:04:37.854> of<00:04:37.934> Bitcoin<00:04:38.238> on<00:04:38.270> balance<00:04:38.719> sheet.

00:04:38.959 --> 00:04:42.036
So<00:04:39.136> we<00:04:39.280> had<00:04:39.857> over<00:04:40.017> $600<00:04:40.417> million<00:04:40.978> in<00:04:41.058> Bitcoin<00:04:41.379> on<00:04:41.459> balance<00:04:41.763> sheet.

00:04:42.116 --> 00:04:49.599
And<00:04:42.725> as<00:04:42.901> Bitcoin<00:04:43.302> started<00:04:43.702> to<00:04:43.863> fall,<00:04:44.904> that<00:04:45.128> not<00:04:45.208> only<00:04:45.689> hurts<00:04:45.930> our<00:04:46.186> income<00:04:46.426> statement,<00:04:47.051> but<00:04:47.131> also<00:04:47.452> hurts<00:04:47.628> our<00:04:47.788> balance<00:04:48.109> sheet<00:04:48.734> and<00:04:48.974> our<00:04:49.070> treasury.

00:04:50.192 --> 00:04:55.736
And<00:04:50.272> so<00:04:50.833> we<00:04:50.929> saw<00:04:51.233> Bitcoin<00:04:51.554> prices<00:04:51.858> start<00:04:52.098> to<00:04:52.179> fall<00:04:53.156> by<00:04:53.460> the<00:04:53.557> summer<00:04:54.678> of<00:04:54.822> 2023.

00:04:56.281 --> 00:05:00.094
We<00:04:56.457> began<00:04:56.761> selling<00:04:57.162> Bitcoin,<00:04:58.203> but<00:04:58.508> a<00:04:58.524> lot<00:04:58.684> of<00:04:58.716> the<00:04:58.844> damage<00:04:59.229> had<00:04:59.325> already<00:04:59.645> been<00:04:59.806> done.

00:05:00.511 --> 00:05:03.475
On<00:05:00.687> the<00:05:00.847> income<00:05:01.088> statement<00:05:01.408> side,<00:05:01.729> margins<00:05:02.209> began<00:05:02.466> to<00:05:02.690> become<00:05:03.010> compressed.

00:05:04.213 --> 00:05:08.730
Then<00:05:04.776> we<00:05:04.856> got<00:05:05.081> hit<00:05:05.258> by<00:05:05.901> the<00:05:06.287> war<00:05:06.480> in<00:05:06.608> Ukraine<00:05:07.267> spiking<00:05:07.669> natural<00:05:07.990> gas<00:05:08.296> prices.

00:05:09.421 --> 00:05:11.092
So<00:05:09.598> we<00:05:09.678> had<00:05:10.240> lower<00:05:10.482> margins.

00:05:11.591 --> 00:05:15.899
Our<00:05:11.687> treasury<00:05:12.073> was<00:05:12.249> coming<00:05:12.491> down<00:05:12.732> because<00:05:12.958> Bitcoin<00:05:13.233> was<00:05:13.443> falling,<00:05:14.429> and<00:05:14.833> we<00:05:14.978> were<00:05:15.011> significantly<00:05:15.625> levered.

00:05:15.980 --> 00:05:19.519
So<00:05:16.206> we<00:05:16.287> had<00:05:16.433> about<00:05:16.691> $1.1<00:05:17.402> billion<00:05:18.065> or<00:05:18.130> just<00:05:18.307> over<00:05:18.453> $1<00:05:18.550> billion<00:05:19.180> in<00:05:19.277> debt.

00:05:20.972 --> 00:05:29.399
So<00:05:21.197> it<00:05:21.278> became<00:05:21.600> a<00:05:22.084> levered<00:05:22.486> free<00:05:22.664> cash<00:05:22.905> flow<00:05:23.469> compression<00:05:24.758> situation<00:05:25.403> where<00:05:25.806> we<00:05:25.902> just<00:05:26.031> didn't<00:05:27.465> have<00:05:27.820> the<00:05:27.900> free<00:05:28.142> cash<00:05:28.448> flow<00:05:28.561> to<00:05:28.642> support<00:05:29.093> our<00:05:29.173> debt<00:05:29.334> load.

00:05:31.880 --> 00:05:35.114
And<00:05:32.405> since<00:05:32.717> that<00:05:32.963> time,<00:05:33.292> you've<00:05:33.439> gone<00:05:33.620> through<00:05:33.784> this<00:05:34.030> restructuring<00:05:34.687> process.

00:05:35.179 --> 00:05:35.918
What<00:05:35.311> has<00:05:35.409> that<00:05:35.590> been<00:05:35.738> like?

00:05:37.590 --> 00:05:40.997
Uh,<00:05:37.654> it<00:05:37.687> was,<00:05:38.190> you<00:05:38.287> know,<00:05:38.368> it<00:05:38.417> was<00:05:38.514> a<00:05:38.596> really<00:05:38.904> great<00:05:39.245> cleansing<00:05:39.650> process<00:05:40.121> for<00:05:40.202> us<00:05:40.446> as<00:05:40.527> a<00:05:40.608> company.

00:05:42.438 --> 00:05:51.694
Um,<00:05:42.502> you<00:05:42.534> know,<00:05:42.582> very<00:05:42.823> few<00:05:43.370> companies<00:05:43.771> that<00:05:43.852> have<00:05:44.029> grown<00:05:44.430> as<00:05:44.575> aggressively<00:05:45.153> as<00:05:45.314> Fort<00:05:45.555> did<00:05:46.343> have<00:05:46.455> the<00:05:46.584> opportunity<00:05:46.857> to<00:05:47.082> take<00:05:47.307> a<00:05:47.467> year<00:05:47.901> and<00:05:48.367> say,<00:05:48.769> how<00:05:48.866> do<00:05:48.994> we<00:05:49.091> improve<00:05:50.055> our<00:05:50.456> business<00:05:51.405> as<00:05:51.501> a<00:05:51.630> whole?

00:05:52.370 --> 00:05:55.410
Um,<00:05:53.029> so<00:05:53.110> we<00:05:53.254> took<00:05:53.431> that<00:05:53.657> year<00:05:53.834> and<00:05:53.914> we<00:05:54.139> really<00:05:54.316> focused<00:05:54.783> on<00:05:54.815> a<00:05:54.879> few<00:05:55.105> things.

00:05:55.684 --> 00:05:58.548
Uh,<00:05:55.764> the<00:05:55.845> first<00:05:56.150> was<00:05:56.408> improving<00:05:56.874> the<00:05:56.907> efficiency<00:05:57.695> at<00:05:57.775> a<00:05:57.856> facility<00:05:58.339> level.

00:05:58.596 --> 00:06:06.349
So<00:05:59.226> We've<00:05:59.338> had<00:05:59.466> the<00:05:59.563> opportunity<00:06:00.028> to<00:06:00.108> actually<00:06:00.333> improve<00:06:00.686> our<00:06:01.344> efficiency,<00:06:02.274> something<00:06:02.467> that<00:06:02.595> you<00:06:02.691> can<00:06:02.836> see<00:06:03.092> in<00:06:03.156> our<00:06:03.333> results<00:06:03.718> when<00:06:03.798> you<00:06:03.959> compare<00:06:04.296> us<00:06:04.440> to<00:06:04.600> other<00:06:05.258> large-scale<00:06:05.900> miners.

00:06:07.665 --> 00:06:11.403
The<00:06:07.825> other<00:06:07.986> part<00:06:08.226> is<00:06:08.387> we<00:06:08.467> went<00:06:08.691> through<00:06:08.884> an<00:06:08.948> entire<00:06:09.349> reorganization<00:06:10.071> process<00:06:10.617> internally.

00:06:12.061 --> 00:06:21.815
It<00:06:12.237> was<00:06:12.397> a<00:06:12.414> really<00:06:12.638> healthy<00:06:13.103> part<00:06:13.521> because,<00:06:14.483> you<00:06:14.563> know,<00:06:14.644> we<00:06:14.708> had<00:06:14.868> gone<00:06:15.205> through<00:06:15.943> so<00:06:16.168> many<00:06:16.473> different<00:06:16.729> steps<00:06:17.211> of<00:06:17.355> growth<00:06:17.676> as<00:06:17.788> a<00:06:17.852> company<00:06:18.895> and<00:06:18.975> so<00:06:19.136> many<00:06:19.376> different<00:06:20.403> opportunities<00:06:21.045> that<00:06:21.141> we<00:06:21.237> had<00:06:21.382> pursued.

00:06:21.863 --> 00:06:26.273
And<00:06:21.927> so<00:06:22.088> we<00:06:22.168> had<00:06:22.264> the<00:06:22.409> opportunity<00:06:22.826> to<00:06:22.970> really<00:06:23.227> refocus<00:06:23.933> each<00:06:24.045> of<00:06:24.125> our<00:06:24.334> teams<00:06:25.152> and<00:06:25.232> reorganize<00:06:25.777> the<00:06:25.857> business.

00:06:26.818 --> 00:06:29.734
Um,<00:06:27.395> and<00:06:27.459> the<00:06:27.555> last<00:06:27.795> part<00:06:28.020> was<00:06:28.356> we<00:06:28.420> were<00:06:28.517> able<00:06:28.677> to<00:06:28.757> clean<00:06:28.997> up<00:06:29.077> our<00:06:29.221> balance<00:06:29.622> sheet.

00:06:29.798 --> 00:06:36.800
So,<00:06:30.583> you<00:06:30.615> know,<00:06:30.760> in<00:06:30.840> this<00:06:31.064> industry,<00:06:32.266> um,<00:06:32.843> you<00:06:32.907> know,<00:06:33.003> having<00:06:33.323> a<00:06:33.467> high<00:06:33.868> leverage<00:06:34.525> or<00:06:34.669> having<00:06:34.909> high<00:06:35.166> leverage<00:06:35.647> is,<00:06:36.384> is<00:06:36.592> hard.

00:06:37.153 --> 00:06:58.652
Uh,<00:06:37.553> we're<00:06:37.633> in<00:06:37.665> a<00:06:37.729> volatile<00:06:38.050> business,<00:06:39.011> and<00:06:39.107> so<00:06:39.876> we<00:06:40.037> really—<00:06:40.854> we've<00:06:41.158> lowered<00:06:41.415> our<00:06:41.575> debt<00:06:41.799> load<00:06:42.040> by<00:06:42.136> about<00:06:42.296> $400<00:06:42.857> million,<00:06:43.161> and<00:06:43.722> we've<00:06:43.962> added<00:06:44.122> a<00:06:44.203> lot<00:06:44.363> of<00:06:44.683> optionality<00:06:45.244> into<00:06:45.404> our<00:06:45.500> capital<00:06:45.901> structure<00:06:46.382> so<00:06:46.558> that<00:06:46.718> if<00:06:46.862> we<00:06:47.103> do<00:06:47.263> perform<00:06:47.808> well,<00:06:48.865> we<00:06:48.945> should<00:06:49.105> be<00:06:49.250> able<00:06:49.346> to<00:06:49.506> eliminate<00:06:50.051> all<00:06:50.227> that<00:06:50.547> debt,<00:06:51.092> uh,<00:06:51.413> over<00:06:51.589> a<00:06:51.669> period<00:06:51.909> of<00:06:52.054> time,<00:06:52.310> which<00:06:52.566> is<00:06:52.630> something<00:06:52.951> that<00:06:53.400> we're<00:06:53.673> really<00:06:53.915> happy<00:06:54.237> about<00:06:54.640> because<00:06:55.446> we<00:06:55.607> believe<00:06:55.929> that<00:06:56.155> we're<00:06:56.268> going<00:06:56.396> to<00:06:56.574> operate<00:06:56.896> well<00:06:58.185> going<00:06:58.411> forward.

00:07:01.296 --> 00:07:03.602
How<00:07:01.537> is<00:07:01.763> this<00:07:02.102> like—<00:07:02.505> how<00:07:02.666> have<00:07:02.973> you<00:07:03.053> managed<00:07:03.537> that?

00:07:03.795 --> 00:07:06.924
That<00:07:03.973> sounds<00:07:04.360> like<00:07:05.327> stressful,<00:07:06.295> what<00:07:06.440> you<00:07:06.521> just<00:07:06.601> described.

00:07:08.176 --> 00:07:09.742
How<00:07:08.241> have<00:07:08.451> you<00:07:08.596> managed<00:07:08.919> that<00:07:09.080> over<00:07:09.241> the<00:07:09.322> past<00:07:09.629> year?

00:07:09.790 --> 00:07:10.888
How<00:07:09.903> have<00:07:10.113> you<00:07:10.290> led<00:07:10.532> yourself?

00:07:10.936 --> 00:07:12.292
How<00:07:10.984> have<00:07:11.162> you<00:07:11.404> led<00:07:11.646> the<00:07:11.759> team?

00:07:12.372 --> 00:07:18.222
How<00:07:12.469> do<00:07:12.695> you—<00:07:13.841> how<00:07:13.938> did<00:07:14.164> you<00:07:14.309> view<00:07:14.728> that<00:07:14.970> time<00:07:15.293> period<00:07:15.761> as<00:07:16.019> a<00:07:16.100> leader,<00:07:16.487> as<00:07:16.729> the<00:07:16.972> leader<00:07:17.230> of<00:07:17.375> the<00:07:17.440> company<00:07:17.909> even?

00:07:20.466 --> 00:07:29.336
How<00:07:20.563> did<00:07:20.725> you<00:07:22.502> kind<00:07:22.745> of<00:07:22.777> maintain<00:07:23.940> optimistic<00:07:25.637> outlooks<00:07:26.525> and<00:07:26.687> really<00:07:26.929> kind<00:07:27.107> of<00:07:27.188> rally<00:07:27.591> the<00:07:27.672> team<00:07:27.995> around<00:07:28.399> the<00:07:28.561> vision<00:07:28.868> of<00:07:28.949> this<00:07:29.191> thing?

00:07:31.502 --> 00:07:35.683
Yeah,<00:07:31.648> at<00:07:31.793> our<00:07:31.971> core,<00:07:32.955> we<00:07:34.247> had<00:07:34.505> very<00:07:34.812> strong<00:07:35.134> operations.

00:07:35.764 --> 00:07:42.364
That's<00:07:35.925> something<00:07:36.200> that<00:07:37.539> we've<00:07:37.782> really<00:07:37.959> prided<00:07:38.250> ourselves<00:07:38.669> throughout<00:07:38.911> the<00:07:39.170> course<00:07:40.558> of<00:07:40.639> our<00:07:40.687> entire<00:07:41.268> Chapter<00:07:41.590> 11<00:07:41.913> process.

00:07:43.122 --> 00:07:53.565
For<00:07:43.268> me,<00:07:43.913> I<00:07:44.010> came<00:07:44.235> in<00:07:44.348> as<00:07:44.477> kind<00:07:44.639> of<00:07:44.671> fresh<00:07:45.139> blood,<00:07:48.740> In<00:07:48.868> April<00:07:49.141> of<00:07:49.205> 2023,<00:07:50.087> we're<00:07:50.471> about<00:07:51.369> 4<00:07:51.689> months<00:07:51.946> into<00:07:52.250> our<00:07:52.411> Chapter<00:07:52.747> 11<00:07:53.052> process.

00:07:54.334 --> 00:08:03.455
Chapter<00:07:54.639> 11<00:07:54.959> processes<00:07:55.761> can<00:07:56.242> really<00:07:56.963> hurt<00:07:57.219> a<00:07:57.380> team<00:07:58.406> unless<00:07:58.806> they<00:07:59.143> understand<00:07:59.544> what's<00:07:59.704> going<00:08:00.008> on,<00:08:00.265> they<00:08:00.489> understand<00:08:00.890> the<00:08:00.986> vision<00:08:01.307> for<00:08:01.387> the<00:08:01.467> company,<00:08:01.852> and<00:08:01.932> they<00:08:02.108> understand<00:08:02.733> where<00:08:02.813> we're<00:08:02.910> trying<00:08:03.166> to<00:08:03.310> go.

00:08:04.112 --> 00:08:09.049
So<00:08:04.288> that<00:08:04.448> started<00:08:05.298> as<00:08:05.635> kind<00:08:05.843> of<00:08:05.875> a<00:08:06.019> level<00:08:06.260> setting<00:08:06.596> from<00:08:06.837> day<00:08:07.141> 1,<00:08:07.382> which<00:08:07.558> is,<00:08:08.279> what<00:08:08.440> are<00:08:08.520> our<00:08:08.760> goals?

00:08:09.642 --> 00:08:14.819
Let's<00:08:09.802> set<00:08:10.026> goals<00:08:10.219> that<00:08:10.315> are<00:08:10.427> high<00:08:10.603> enough<00:08:10.844> where<00:08:11.645> we<00:08:11.806> know<00:08:12.046> we<00:08:12.190> have<00:08:12.287> to<00:08:12.367> work<00:08:12.591> hard<00:08:12.928> every<00:08:13.104> single<00:08:13.489> day<00:08:13.970> for<00:08:14.114> us<00:08:14.210> to<00:08:14.370> achieve<00:08:14.691> them.

00:08:15.561 --> 00:08:20.397
That<00:08:15.723> instills<00:08:16.143> a<00:08:16.159> sense<00:08:16.402> of<00:08:16.629> urgency<00:08:17.745> in<00:08:17.826> long-term<00:08:18.327> goals<00:08:18.731> that<00:08:19.297> people<00:08:19.540> don't<00:08:19.702> always<00:08:20.090> have.

00:08:20.592 --> 00:08:27.389
So<00:08:20.753> it's<00:08:20.980> like<00:08:21.546> you<00:08:21.643> can<00:08:21.724> set<00:08:21.966> these<00:08:22.209> long-term<00:08:22.694> goals<00:08:23.099> of<00:08:23.163> saying<00:08:23.988> a<00:08:24.134> year<00:08:24.879> from<00:08:25.024> now<00:08:25.203> we<00:08:25.365> want<00:08:25.607> to<00:08:26.401> be<00:08:26.806> at<00:08:27.049> X.

00:08:28.992 --> 00:08:38.863
In<00:08:29.089> my<00:08:29.251> perspective,<00:08:29.721> you<00:08:29.802> should<00:08:29.980> set<00:08:30.158> it<00:08:30.288> at<00:08:30.628> Z<00:08:31.599> so<00:08:31.842> that<00:08:32.231> X<00:08:32.474> is<00:08:32.571> the<00:08:32.620> worst-case<00:08:32.974> scenario<00:08:34.168> where<00:08:34.749> that's<00:08:35.556> kind<00:08:35.765> of<00:08:35.798> your<00:08:35.943> fallback<00:08:36.524> plan<00:08:37.233> is<00:08:37.572> what<00:08:37.798> you<00:08:37.879> would<00:08:38.040> normally<00:08:38.459> reach<00:08:38.685> for.

00:08:39.427 --> 00:08:46.992
So<00:08:39.911> it<00:08:39.944> was<00:08:40.073> really<00:08:40.298> about<00:08:40.557> setting<00:08:41.202> a<00:08:41.218> sense<00:08:41.541> of<00:08:41.766> urgency<00:08:42.234> inside<00:08:42.380> the<00:08:42.502> company<00:08:42.922> that<00:08:43.606> we<00:08:43.767> only<00:08:43.943> have<00:08:44.200> a<00:08:44.248> certain<00:08:44.521> amount<00:08:44.762> of<00:08:44.842> time<00:08:45.387> before<00:08:45.773> we're<00:08:45.949> back<00:08:46.270> on<00:08:46.350> the<00:08:46.430> playing<00:08:46.816> field.

00:08:47.698 --> 00:09:00.969
Uh,<00:08:48.019> our<00:08:48.180> reemergence<00:08:48.998> was<00:08:49.174> essentially<00:08:49.640> like<00:08:49.880> going<00:08:50.185> from,<00:08:51.084> you<00:08:51.164> know,<00:08:51.325> your—<00:08:51.710> the<00:08:51.742> summer<00:08:52.512> NFL<00:08:52.865> games<00:08:53.796> that<00:08:53.892> you<00:08:53.972> play,<00:08:54.293> or<00:08:54.454> this—<00:08:54.935> or<00:08:55.112> the<00:08:55.240> fall<00:08:55.577> games,<00:08:56.155> or<00:08:56.219> the<00:08:56.299> games<00:08:56.524> before<00:08:56.796> the<00:08:56.861> regular<00:08:57.101> season<00:08:57.406> starts,<00:08:57.727> preseason,<00:08:59.268> and<00:08:59.332> then<00:08:59.428> you're<00:08:59.508> back<00:08:59.733> on<00:08:59.765> the<00:08:59.893> playing<00:09:00.134> field,<00:09:00.632> right?

00:09:01.097 --> 00:09:16.457
And<00:09:01.177> so<00:09:01.434> it<00:09:01.514> was,<00:09:02.461> let's<00:09:02.637> practice<00:09:04.082> like<00:09:04.627> it's<00:09:04.788> game<00:09:05.044> speed<00:09:06.312> and<00:09:06.473> put<00:09:06.633> in<00:09:06.713> the<00:09:06.793> right<00:09:06.970> processes<00:09:08.238> so<00:09:08.414> that<00:09:08.880> when<00:09:09.040> we<00:09:09.136> finally<00:09:09.537> get<00:09:09.698> back<00:09:09.939> on<00:09:10.035> the<00:09:10.163> playing<00:09:10.420> field<00:09:11.447> We're<00:09:11.784> ready<00:09:12.090> to<00:09:12.186> play<00:09:12.330> at<00:09:12.427> game<00:09:12.668> speed,<00:09:13.454> and<00:09:14.835> we've<00:09:14.996> done<00:09:15.172> a<00:09:15.237> number<00:09:15.494> of<00:09:15.638> initiatives<00:09:16.039> internally.

00:09:16.505 --> 00:09:29.864
We<00:09:16.585> can<00:09:16.682> talk<00:09:16.987> through<00:09:17.260> them,<00:09:19.235> but<00:09:19.331> really<00:09:19.556> just<00:09:19.732> communicating,<00:09:20.535> being<00:09:20.760> transparent<00:09:22.125> in<00:09:22.462> what<00:09:22.574> our<00:09:22.783> goals<00:09:23.024> are,<00:09:23.185> not<00:09:23.361> only<00:09:23.586> to<00:09:23.731> our<00:09:23.795> employees,<00:09:24.453> but<00:09:24.533> also<00:09:24.790> to<00:09:24.951> our<00:09:25.031> investors<00:09:26.557> who<00:09:26.717> we<00:09:26.797> are<00:09:26.862> in<00:09:26.942> regular<00:09:27.263> conversations<00:09:28.002> with,<00:09:28.307> given<00:09:28.724> the<00:09:28.804> process<00:09:29.206> that<00:09:29.350> we<00:09:29.431> were<00:09:29.527> going<00:09:29.768> through.

00:09:31.213 --> 00:09:34.199
And<00:09:31.919> you're<00:09:32.016> obviously<00:09:32.337> back,<00:09:33.445> relisted.

00:09:34.328 --> 00:09:35.388
What<00:09:34.424> was<00:09:34.569> that<00:09:34.745> process<00:09:35.211> like?

00:09:38.034 --> 00:09:45.975
It<00:09:38.179> was<00:09:38.598> a<00:09:38.663> long<00:09:38.840> process<00:09:39.645> to<00:09:39.742> go<00:09:39.887> through<00:09:40.032> our<00:09:40.128> Chapter<00:09:40.434> 11<00:09:40.756> process,<00:09:41.256> but<00:09:43.655> the<00:09:43.752> past<00:09:44.074> few<00:09:44.235> weeks<00:09:44.461> have<00:09:44.557> been<00:09:44.718> really<00:09:44.879> exciting<00:09:45.266> for<00:09:45.347> us<00:09:45.524> as<00:09:45.604> a<00:09:45.685> business.

00:09:46.393 --> 00:09:56.610
We<00:09:46.474> had<00:09:46.635> the<00:09:46.716> opportunity<00:09:47.703> not<00:09:47.865> only<00:09:48.091> to<00:09:48.253> relist<00:09:49.305> on<00:09:49.564> January<00:09:50.535> 24th,<00:09:51.506> but<00:09:51.587> then<00:09:51.733> we<00:09:51.765> had<00:09:51.895> an<00:09:51.976> opportunity<00:09:52.461> to<00:09:53.190> ring<00:09:53.368> the<00:09:53.513> closing<00:09:53.772> bell<00:09:53.853> on<00:09:54.080> the<00:09:54.112> NASDAQ<00:09:55.310> on<00:09:55.375> that<00:09:55.456> Friday.

00:09:57.097 --> 00:10:01.826
Really<00:09:57.406> unique<00:09:57.666> opportunity<00:09:58.235> for<00:09:58.381> the<00:09:58.478> team<00:09:59.063> to<00:09:59.193> celebrate<00:09:59.681> a<00:10:00.168> lot<00:10:00.331> of<00:10:00.412> hard<00:10:00.656> work<00:10:00.835> that<00:10:00.981> went<00:10:01.143> in<00:10:01.241> through<00:10:01.403> that<00:10:01.501> process.

00:10:02.502 --> 00:10:08.199
A<00:10:02.566> lot<00:10:02.646> of<00:10:02.807> late<00:10:03.064> nights,<00:10:04.652> everyone<00:10:04.989> from<00:10:05.374> our<00:10:05.471> data<00:10:05.711> center<00:10:06.016> employees<00:10:06.674> to<00:10:06.899> our<00:10:06.995> executive<00:10:07.461> leadership<00:10:07.862> team.

00:10:09.162 --> 00:10:19.801
We<00:10:09.306> went<00:10:09.402> through<00:10:09.579> a<00:10:09.643> lot<00:10:10.108> throughout<00:10:10.285> the<00:10:10.429> course<00:10:10.606> of<00:10:10.670> Chapter<00:10:10.927> 11,<00:10:11.954> and<00:10:12.756> ringing<00:10:13.077> the<00:10:13.173> bell<00:10:13.478> was<00:10:13.639> one<00:10:13.799> of<00:10:14.056> those<00:10:14.313> moments<00:10:14.762> where<00:10:15.885> it<00:10:16.238> was<00:10:16.463> the<00:10:17.426> closing<00:10:18.164> of<00:10:18.308> one<00:10:18.469> chapter<00:10:18.870> and<00:10:18.950> the<00:10:19.111> opening<00:10:19.351> of<00:10:19.432> the<00:10:19.528> next.

00:10:19.849 --> 00:10:24.021
And<00:10:19.929> so<00:10:20.731> it<00:10:20.796> was<00:10:21.277> great<00:10:21.518> for<00:10:21.678> me,<00:10:22.160> but<00:10:22.641> I<00:10:22.657> know<00:10:22.866> how<00:10:22.962> great<00:10:23.203> it<00:10:23.283> was<00:10:23.443> for<00:10:23.507> the<00:10:23.588> rest<00:10:23.780> of<00:10:23.828> our<00:10:23.925> team.

00:10:24.310 --> 00:10:26.925
That's<00:10:25.529> incredible.

00:10:27.279 --> 00:10:27.985
I<00:10:27.375> actually<00:10:27.599> don't<00:10:27.696> know<00:10:27.840> this.

00:10:28.097 --> 00:10:29.413
Did<00:10:28.322> you<00:10:28.482> go<00:10:28.642> through<00:10:28.803> a<00:10:28.819> SPAC<00:10:29.220> again?

00:10:30.926 --> 00:10:32.573
No,<00:10:31.104> we<00:10:31.265> relisted<00:10:31.976> as<00:10:32.299> part<00:10:32.396> of<00:10:32.476> that.

00:10:32.670 --> 00:10:33.622
So<00:10:32.864> we<00:10:33.025> direct<00:10:33.364> listed.

00:10:33.687 --> 00:10:38.579
So<00:10:33.768> we,<00:10:34.236> we<00:10:34.333> continued<00:10:34.817> to<00:10:34.962> trade<00:10:35.931> on<00:10:36.270> the<00:10:36.432> OTC<00:10:36.997> throughout<00:10:37.223> the<00:10:37.384> course<00:10:37.578> of<00:10:37.642> the<00:10:37.723> Chapter<00:10:37.981> 11<00:10:38.369> process.

00:10:39.170 --> 00:10:42.413
So<00:10:39.347> we<00:10:39.428> went<00:10:39.589> through<00:10:39.670> a<00:10:39.702> simple<00:10:40.235> uplisting<00:10:40.735> process<00:10:41.219> to<00:10:41.316> get<00:10:41.461> back<00:10:41.703> onto<00:10:41.929> the<00:10:41.961> Nasdaq.

00:10:42.914 --> 00:10:43.172
Okay.

00:10:43.382 --> 00:10:44.657
Yeah,<00:10:43.559> that<00:10:43.737> makes,<00:10:44.027> that<00:10:44.140> makes<00:10:44.366> sense.

00:10:45.254 --> 00:10:47.094
What<00:10:45.334> does<00:10:45.496> a<00:10:45.577> typical<00:10:46.061> day<00:10:46.303> look<00:10:46.545> like<00:10:46.722> for<00:10:46.932> you?

00:10:49.007 --> 00:10:55.328
Well,<00:10:49.088> I<00:10:49.186> think<00:10:49.348> it's—<00:10:50.161> you<00:10:50.258> kind<00:10:50.388> of<00:10:50.486> need<00:10:50.632> to<00:10:50.713> bifurcate<00:10:51.363> the<00:10:51.461> days<00:10:52.257> between<00:10:52.680> when<00:10:52.842> we<00:10:52.988> were<00:10:53.086> in<00:10:53.183> a<00:10:53.313> reorganization<00:10:54.061> process<00:10:54.630> and<00:10:54.711> where<00:10:54.873> we<00:10:55.020> are<00:10:55.198> today.

00:10:57.469 --> 00:11:00.578
During<00:10:57.629> our<00:10:57.725> reorganization<00:10:58.446> process,<00:10:59.328> it<00:10:59.809> looked<00:10:59.985> a<00:11:00.033> lot<00:11:00.210> different.

00:11:01.188 --> 00:11:07.840
The<00:11:01.316> time<00:11:01.556> that<00:11:01.717> you<00:11:01.781> would<00:11:01.893> normally<00:11:02.214> spend<00:11:02.534> on<00:11:02.614> the<00:11:02.694> reorganization<00:11:03.496> process<00:11:04.458> is<00:11:04.538> time<00:11:04.698> that<00:11:04.842> you<00:11:04.923> should<00:11:05.099> be<00:11:05.243> spending<00:11:06.285> on<00:11:06.862> the<00:11:07.006> growth<00:11:07.359> of<00:11:07.487> the<00:11:07.567> company.

00:11:07.904 --> 00:11:16.047
So<00:11:08.000> I<00:11:08.032> would<00:11:08.225> say<00:11:08.465> during<00:11:08.690> the<00:11:08.770> reorganization<00:11:09.427> process,<00:11:10.549> we<00:11:10.709> were<00:11:10.950> probably<00:11:11.270> 40%<00:11:12.136> focused<00:11:12.553> on<00:11:12.633> the<00:11:12.713> bankruptcy,<00:11:13.274> focused<00:11:13.675> on<00:11:13.739> the<00:11:13.771> negotiation<00:11:15.422> of<00:11:15.502> our<00:11:15.598> plan.

00:11:16.785 --> 00:11:22.219
About<00:11:17.121> 40%<00:11:17.362> of<00:11:17.458> the<00:11:17.586> time<00:11:17.843> was<00:11:18.468> really<00:11:18.644> focused<00:11:19.125> on<00:11:19.365> rebuilding<00:11:20.472> and<00:11:20.568> reorganizing<00:11:21.289> the<00:11:21.369> company<00:11:21.690> internally.

00:11:23.133 --> 00:11:27.197
Then<00:11:23.278> 20%<00:11:24.017> was<00:11:24.242> really<00:11:24.402> focused<00:11:24.820> on<00:11:25.446> our<00:11:25.623> future<00:11:26.185> go-forward<00:11:26.619> strategy.

00:11:27.309 --> 00:11:37.476
That's<00:11:28.193> bifurcated<00:11:28.980> though<00:11:29.237> between<00:11:30.120> a<00:11:30.200> company<00:11:30.522> in<00:11:30.682> crisis<00:11:31.148> mode<00:11:31.308> versus<00:11:32.625> a<00:11:32.690> company<00:11:33.236> that<00:11:33.637> is<00:11:34.858> focused<00:11:35.725> on<00:11:35.966> growth<00:11:36.303> and<00:11:36.384> the<00:11:36.464> future<00:11:36.785> health<00:11:36.914> of<00:11:37.010> the<00:11:37.171> business.

00:11:38.713 --> 00:11:44.976
We<00:11:38.777> were<00:11:38.873> really<00:11:39.114> focused<00:11:39.580> on<00:11:39.676> making<00:11:39.917> sure<00:11:39.997> that<00:11:40.158> we<00:11:40.254> set<00:11:40.560> that<00:11:40.784> north<00:11:40.945> star<00:11:41.266> and<00:11:41.427> communicated<00:11:42.005> that<00:11:42.150> accordingly<00:11:42.872> throughout<00:11:43.113> the<00:11:43.274> course<00:11:43.467> of<00:11:43.531> our<00:11:43.932> Chapter<00:11:44.238> 11<00:11:44.495> process.

00:11:46.406 --> 00:11:54.137
But<00:11:46.566> as<00:11:46.663> we've<00:11:46.904> shifted<00:11:47.386> back<00:11:47.626> to<00:11:47.771> a<00:11:47.851> public<00:11:48.173> company,<00:11:49.502> Now<00:11:49.682> the<00:11:49.763> focus<00:11:50.171> for<00:11:50.334> me<00:11:50.645> is<00:11:50.971> how<00:11:51.134> do<00:11:51.167> we<00:11:51.314> push<00:11:51.558> our<00:11:51.722> company<00:11:52.211> beyond<00:11:52.848> what<00:11:52.962> our<00:11:53.190> current<00:11:53.435> business<00:11:53.696> plan<00:11:54.006> is?

00:11:56.019 --> 00:11:58.423
I<00:11:56.052> would<00:11:56.152> say<00:11:56.599> it's<00:11:57.180> come<00:11:57.279> down<00:11:57.528> to<00:11:57.627> a<00:11:57.677> number<00:11:57.942> of<00:11:58.042> factors.

00:12:00.232 --> 00:12:06.354
And<00:12:00.810> I<00:12:01.084> would<00:12:01.180> say<00:12:01.437> one<00:12:01.598> of<00:12:01.678> the<00:12:01.726> things<00:12:01.823> that<00:12:01.919> we're<00:12:02.064> focused<00:12:02.466> on<00:12:02.562> most<00:12:02.867> today<00:12:03.831> is<00:12:04.571> where<00:12:04.731> do<00:12:04.812> we<00:12:04.956> take<00:12:05.519> all<00:12:05.615> of<00:12:05.840> our<00:12:06.001> assets?

00:12:06.419 --> 00:12:14.385
Where<00:12:06.531> do<00:12:06.579> we<00:12:06.660> take<00:12:06.965> all<00:12:07.061> the<00:12:07.238> infrastructure<00:12:07.688> that<00:12:07.784> we<00:12:07.929> developed<00:12:08.974> and<00:12:09.070> really<00:12:09.717> focus<00:12:10.190> it<00:12:10.598> on<00:12:11.659> capturing<00:12:12.312> the<00:12:12.492> best<00:12:12.818> business<00:12:13.210> opportunities<00:12:13.716> we<00:12:13.814> have<00:12:13.961> going<00:12:14.287> forward?

00:12:15.039 --> 00:12:17.719
And<00:12:15.087> so<00:12:15.183> we<00:12:15.247> have<00:12:15.360> a<00:12:15.488> really<00:12:15.729> aligned<00:12:15.986> team<00:12:16.323> internally<00:12:16.868> and<00:12:17.013> with<00:12:17.109> our<00:12:17.254> investors.

00:12:18.297 --> 00:12:22.213
And<00:12:18.618> so<00:12:19.115> I<00:12:19.276> think<00:12:19.356> we're<00:12:19.517> all<00:12:20.624> really<00:12:20.801> excited<00:12:21.122> about<00:12:21.266> where<00:12:21.427> we<00:12:21.459> can<00:12:21.603> take<00:12:21.667> this<00:12:21.924> company.

00:12:23.353 --> 00:12:24.284
It<00:12:23.674> might<00:12:23.770> be<00:12:23.915> useful.

00:12:25.038 --> 00:12:34.379
I'm<00:12:25.134> not<00:12:25.279> sure,<00:12:25.520> like<00:12:25.696> a<00:12:25.712> lot<00:12:25.921> of<00:12:25.953> people<00:12:26.258> watching<00:12:26.659> this<00:12:26.884> may,<00:12:27.285> or<00:12:27.446> listening<00:12:27.767> to<00:12:27.863> this,<00:12:28.168> may<00:12:28.361> not<00:12:28.826> completely<00:12:29.307> understand<00:12:29.773> what<00:12:29.869> a<00:12:29.933> blockchain<00:12:30.511> computing<00:12:30.913> data<00:12:31.169> center<00:12:31.555> does<00:12:32.742> and<00:12:33.545> how<00:12:33.866> you<00:12:33.946> mine.

00:12:34.428 --> 00:12:39.291
I<00:12:34.668> assume<00:12:35.070> you<00:12:35.166> mine<00:12:35.968> primarily<00:12:36.530> Bitcoin,<00:12:36.931> but<00:12:37.493> are<00:12:37.638> you<00:12:37.734> mining<00:12:38.055> other<00:12:38.280> cryptocurrencies<00:12:39.002> as<00:12:39.162> well?

00:12:39.821 --> 00:12:46.505
I<00:12:39.885> think<00:12:39.997> it<00:12:40.045> might<00:12:40.222> just<00:12:40.382> be<00:12:40.543> useful<00:12:41.024> to<00:12:41.426> kind<00:12:41.586> of<00:12:41.650> give<00:12:41.763> a<00:12:42.148> little<00:12:42.308> primer<00:12:42.854> on<00:12:43.320> what<00:12:43.499> a<00:12:43.826> blockchain<00:12:45.002> mining<00:12:45.312> data<00:12:45.557> center<00:12:46.211> does?

00:12:49.580 --> 00:12:56.992
A<00:12:49.693> Bitcoin<00:12:50.081> mining<00:12:50.340> facility<00:12:51.068> is<00:12:51.214> almost<00:12:51.716> identical<00:12:52.428> to<00:12:52.590> a<00:12:52.606> traditional<00:12:53.075> data<00:12:53.269> center<00:12:54.143> minus<00:12:54.952> a<00:12:55.130> number<00:12:55.584> of<00:12:55.745> different<00:12:56.166> electrical<00:12:56.636> components.

00:12:57.040 --> 00:12:59.561
So<00:12:57.946> what<00:12:58.043> do<00:12:58.108> we<00:12:58.270> do<00:12:58.400> at<00:12:58.496> our<00:12:58.916> core?

00:12:59.723 --> 00:13:01.820
Bitcoin<00:13:00.045> miners<00:13:00.674> solve<00:13:01.255> blocks.

00:13:02.046 --> 00:13:03.966
So<00:13:02.191> it's<00:13:02.853> in<00:13:02.933> the<00:13:02.966> name<00:13:03.272> blockchain.

00:13:04.385 --> 00:13:07.532
Every<00:13:04.563> 10<00:13:04.789> minutes,<00:13:05.047> a<00:13:05.063> new<00:13:05.370> block<00:13:05.773> occurs<00:13:06.644> on<00:13:06.725> the<00:13:06.822> Bitcoin<00:13:07.144> network.

00:13:08.337 --> 00:13:11.834
Our<00:13:08.501> job<00:13:08.926> as<00:13:09.073> miners<00:13:09.742> is<00:13:09.971> to<00:13:10.530> solve<00:13:10.884> that<00:13:11.190> next<00:13:11.528> block.

00:13:12.075 --> 00:13:13.460
We<00:13:12.188> receive<00:13:12.574> a<00:13:12.719> fee<00:13:12.960> for<00:13:13.154> that.

00:13:13.878 --> 00:13:20.945
And<00:13:13.943> so<00:13:14.490> what<00:13:14.586> we<00:13:14.731> have<00:13:14.973> in<00:13:15.005> our<00:13:15.150> facilities<00:13:16.293> is<00:13:16.985> a,<00:13:17.227> a<00:13:17.323> large<00:13:17.726> number<00:13:18.048> of<00:13:18.193> machines<00:13:18.611> that<00:13:18.708> are<00:13:18.998> all<00:13:19.255> competing<00:13:19.819> to<00:13:19.915> solve<00:13:20.270> the<00:13:20.318> next<00:13:20.784> block.

00:13:21.347 --> 00:13:28.005
They're<00:13:21.508> competing<00:13:21.990> not<00:13:22.151> only<00:13:22.714> against<00:13:23.116> other<00:13:23.261> machines<00:13:23.598> in<00:13:23.663> our<00:13:23.840> facilities,<00:13:24.949> uh,<00:13:25.287> but<00:13:25.512> also<00:13:25.769> competing<00:13:26.155> against<00:13:26.493> machines<00:13:26.895> that<00:13:26.943> are<00:13:27.120> located<00:13:27.603> worldwide.

00:13:28.670 --> 00:13:46.065
So<00:13:28.766> at<00:13:29.649> our<00:13:29.826> core,<00:13:30.453> we<00:13:31.176> are<00:13:31.497> a<00:13:31.577> refining<00:13:32.075> business<00:13:32.541> that<00:13:32.702> refines<00:13:33.119> power<00:13:33.521> into<00:13:33.923> compute,<00:13:36.075> and<00:13:36.172> the<00:13:36.252> focus<00:13:36.638> of<00:13:36.670> our<00:13:36.830> facilities<00:13:37.360> today<00:13:37.778> is<00:13:37.923> refining<00:13:39.163> power<00:13:39.873> into<00:13:40.211> compute<00:13:40.759> that's<00:13:40.921> being<00:13:41.034> applied<00:13:41.421> to<00:13:41.501> the<00:13:41.646> Bitcoin<00:13:41.985> network<00:13:42.372> to<00:13:42.775> help<00:13:42.969> solve<00:13:43.501> blocks<00:13:43.920> and<00:13:44.001> secure<00:13:45.226> the<00:13:45.371> Bitcoin<00:13:45.694> blockchain.

00:13:47.590 --> 00:13:55.240
Obviously,<00:13:48.026> the<00:13:48.253> Bitcoin<00:13:48.689> ETF<00:13:49.223> coming<00:13:49.547> out<00:13:50.275> and<00:13:51.083> various<00:13:51.488> things<00:13:51.650> that<00:13:51.908> are<00:13:52.070> making—<00:13:53.591> I<00:13:53.671> think<00:13:53.833> the<00:13:53.930> crypto<00:13:54.318> winter<00:13:54.658> is<00:13:54.820> over.

00:13:55.451 --> 00:13:57.038
You<00:13:55.548> could<00:13:55.855> correct<00:13:56.098> me<00:13:56.211> if<00:13:56.276> I'm<00:13:56.437> wrong<00:13:56.842> there.

00:13:57.903 --> 00:14:00.156
What<00:13:57.985> do<00:13:58.050> you<00:13:58.148> think<00:13:58.377> the<00:13:58.458> future<00:13:58.883> of<00:13:59.128> the<00:13:59.275> cryptocurrencies<00:14:00.107> is?

00:14:02.428 --> 00:14:04.004
I<00:14:02.448> think<00:14:02.546> we're<00:14:02.644> seeing<00:14:02.874> the<00:14:03.038> early<00:14:03.218> stages<00:14:03.594> of<00:14:03.693> it<00:14:03.775> today.

00:14:05.938 --> 00:14:10.892
Fidelity<00:14:06.422> announced<00:14:06.761> that<00:14:06.907> they're<00:14:07.245> putting<00:14:08.214> Bitcoin<00:14:09.004> even<00:14:09.166> into<00:14:09.343> their<00:14:09.505> conservative<00:14:10.215> portfolio.

00:14:12.310 --> 00:14:22.506
Bitcoin<00:14:12.745> is,<00:14:13.391> in<00:14:13.633> my<00:14:13.875> perspective,<00:14:14.424> Bitcoin<00:14:14.828> represents<00:14:15.732> the<00:14:15.813> future<00:14:16.297> for<00:14:17.572> folks<00:14:17.976> anywhere<00:14:18.541> in<00:14:18.622> the<00:14:18.783> world<00:14:18.961> to<00:14:19.042> transact<00:14:19.591> without<00:14:19.849> the<00:14:19.930> need<00:14:20.172> for<00:14:20.737> oversight<00:14:21.458> of<00:14:21.905> governments.

00:14:24.160 --> 00:14:27.386
We're<00:14:24.676> seeing<00:14:24.998> Bitcoin<00:14:25.386> being<00:14:25.628> used<00:14:25.870> more<00:14:26.031> heavily<00:14:26.370> in<00:14:26.450> third<00:14:26.676> world<00:14:26.854> countries.

00:14:28.064 --> 00:14:32.420
I<00:14:28.225> think<00:14:28.467> that<00:14:29.016> is<00:14:29.112> a<00:14:29.516> bigger<00:14:29.919> bellwether<00:14:30.484> for<00:14:30.726> me<00:14:31.290> than<00:14:31.436> really<00:14:31.678> any<00:14:31.920> other<00:14:32.081> metric.

00:14:33.126 --> 00:14:35.514
Represents<00:14:33.847> at<00:14:33.928> its<00:14:34.024> core<00:14:34.424> what<00:14:34.585> Bitcoin<00:14:34.969> was<00:14:35.146> built<00:14:35.370> for.

00:14:35.563 --> 00:14:56.080
It<00:14:35.611> was<00:14:35.947> built<00:14:36.588> for<00:14:36.749> people<00:14:37.069> to<00:14:37.149> be<00:14:37.230> able<00:14:37.614> to<00:14:38.095> escape<00:14:38.512> the<00:14:38.592> modern<00:14:39.137> financial<00:14:39.650> system<00:14:40.820> and<00:14:41.381> build<00:14:41.574> a<00:14:41.638> new<00:14:41.798> financial<00:14:42.215> system<00:14:42.744> that<00:14:43.064> doesn't<00:14:43.321> necessarily<00:14:43.802> need<00:14:44.042> the<00:14:44.138> same<00:14:44.507> oversight,<00:14:45.084> the<00:14:45.180> same<00:14:47.569> third<00:14:47.873> party<00:14:48.434> that<00:14:48.675> hasn't<00:14:48.947> always<00:14:49.171> been<00:14:49.332> the<00:14:49.412> trusted<00:14:49.877> third<00:14:50.053> party,<00:14:50.438> whether<00:14:50.694> that<00:14:50.855> be<00:14:50.999> governments,<00:14:51.480> whether<00:14:51.720> that<00:14:51.816> be<00:14:51.961> large<00:14:52.217> financial<00:14:52.602> institutions,<00:14:53.900> and<00:14:53.980> have<00:14:54.157> it<00:14:54.221> something<00:14:54.541> that<00:14:54.702> is<00:14:54.798> accessible<00:14:55.279> to<00:14:55.423> anyone<00:14:55.743> in<00:14:55.808> the<00:14:55.888> world.

00:14:56.705 --> 00:15:04.308
So<00:14:57.747> from<00:14:59.094> my<00:14:59.270> perspective,<00:15:00.216> Obviously,<00:15:00.780> it's<00:15:00.941> a<00:15:00.957> little<00:15:01.183> biased<00:15:01.521> because<00:15:02.101> I've<00:15:02.504> been<00:15:02.649> in<00:15:02.794> this<00:15:02.955> industry<00:15:03.293> since<00:15:03.680> 2016.

00:15:15.107 --> 00:15:30.101
Preston<00:15:15.127> Pysh<00:15:15.147> As<00:15:15.245> you<00:15:15.408> think<00:15:15.669> about<00:15:16.387> the<00:15:16.533> future,<00:15:17.039> I<00:15:17.121> mean,<00:15:17.757> in<00:15:17.855> the<00:15:17.936> middle<00:15:18.262> of<00:15:18.670> the<00:15:18.817> crypto<00:15:19.160> winter<00:15:19.649> and<00:15:21.626> Web3<00:15:22.277> not<00:15:22.619> being<00:15:22.928> as<00:15:23.172> popular<00:15:23.676> as<00:15:23.839> it<00:15:23.920> once<00:15:24.229> was,<00:15:25.059> the<00:15:25.222> rise<00:15:25.629> of<00:15:25.775> AI,<00:15:26.460> became<00:15:26.732> a<00:15:26.812> big<00:15:27.037> thing<00:15:27.775> and<00:15:27.855> everybody<00:15:28.176> became<00:15:28.561> an<00:15:28.641> AI<00:15:29.058> company,<00:15:29.780> right?

00:15:30.502 --> 00:15:37.768
How<00:15:30.662> do<00:15:30.806> you<00:15:30.919> think<00:15:31.159> about<00:15:32.747> artificial<00:15:33.308> intelligence,<00:15:33.950> the<00:15:34.094> future<00:15:34.351> of<00:15:34.495> artificial<00:15:35.153> intelligence,<00:15:36.340> and<00:15:36.420> how<00:15:36.613> it<00:15:36.741> might<00:15:36.901> affect<00:15:37.222> your<00:15:37.399> business?

00:15:40.025 --> 00:15:43.542
I<00:15:40.045> would<00:15:40.206> say<00:15:40.591> AI<00:15:41.585> is<00:15:41.729> probably<00:15:42.291> going<00:15:42.451> to<00:15:42.515> affect<00:15:42.852> us<00:15:43.013> in<00:15:43.093> two<00:15:43.317> ways.

00:15:44.360 --> 00:15:47.841
Um,<00:15:44.921> as<00:15:45.018> a<00:15:45.178> digital<00:15:45.499> infrastructure<00:15:46.060> company,<00:15:46.381> we're<00:15:46.525> obviously<00:15:46.926> excited<00:15:47.263> about<00:15:47.520> AI.

00:15:48.065 --> 00:15:54.481
You<00:15:48.129> know,<00:15:48.225> it<00:15:48.306> represents<00:15:48.867> an<00:15:48.947> opportunity<00:15:50.070> in<00:15:50.134> a<00:15:50.150> form<00:15:50.535> of<00:15:50.615> high-value<00:15:51.113> compute<00:15:51.834> that<00:15:51.995> is<00:15:52.091> not<00:15:52.300> required<00:15:52.636> really<00:15:52.957> that<00:15:53.102> traditional<00:15:53.519> data<00:15:53.775> center<00:15:54.016> space.

00:15:54.946 --> 00:16:00.341
And<00:15:55.508> so<00:15:55.621> it<00:15:55.701> represents<00:15:56.086> a<00:15:56.166> big<00:15:56.391> opportunity<00:15:56.809> for<00:15:56.969> us<00:15:57.146> as<00:15:57.226> a<00:15:57.354> company<00:15:57.836> given<00:15:58.639> our<00:15:58.815> existing<00:15:59.377> infrastructure<00:15:59.939> footprint.

00:16:01.464 --> 00:16:04.161
But<00:16:01.609> we've<00:16:01.705> seen<00:16:02.090> AI<00:16:02.347> affect<00:16:02.684> us<00:16:02.909> in<00:16:02.989> a<00:16:03.006> number<00:16:03.311> of<00:16:03.471> different<00:16:03.792> ways.

00:16:04.900 --> 00:16:08.014
We've<00:16:05.398> been<00:16:05.558> big<00:16:05.863> on<00:16:05.959> data<00:16:06.264> collection<00:16:07.003> inside<00:16:07.244> of<00:16:07.340> our<00:16:07.469> own<00:16:07.709> company.

00:16:08.608 --> 00:16:21.259
And<00:16:08.689> so<00:16:09.315> we've<00:16:09.475> been<00:16:09.636> able<00:16:09.748> to<00:16:09.957> utilize<00:16:10.840> AI<00:16:11.402> for<00:16:11.883> optimizing<00:16:12.381> the<00:16:12.461> state<00:16:12.766> of<00:16:12.863> our<00:16:13.023> machines<00:16:13.970> based<00:16:14.292> on<00:16:15.191> a<00:16:15.207> number<00:16:15.656> of<00:16:15.752> different<00:16:16.475> variables<00:16:17.053> that<00:16:17.197> we<00:16:17.342> collect,<00:16:17.759> whether<00:16:18.000> that<00:16:18.225> be<00:16:18.562> humidity,<00:16:19.124> whether<00:16:19.429> that<00:16:19.525> be<00:16:19.686> pressure,<00:16:20.167> whether<00:16:20.408> that<00:16:20.569> be<00:16:20.809> wind.

00:17:04.188 --> 00:17:10.688
You<00:17:04.221> know,<00:17:04.673> I<00:17:04.689> know<00:17:04.786> it's<00:17:04.948> going<00:17:05.077> to<00:17:05.110> be<00:17:05.255> a<00:17:05.886> hot-button<00:17:06.387> item<00:17:06.953> to<00:17:07.098> choose,<00:17:08.069> but<00:17:08.651> I<00:17:08.731> grew<00:17:08.877> up<00:17:09.039> in<00:17:09.071> the<00:17:09.119> era<00:17:09.362> of<00:17:09.524> Derek<00:17:09.701> Jeter.

00:17:11.383 --> 00:17:13.485
You<00:17:11.480> know,<00:17:11.625> Derek<00:17:11.884> Jeter's<00:17:12.208> best<00:17:12.515> attribute<00:17:12.935> was<00:17:13.097> his<00:17:13.178> character.

00:17:14.552 --> 00:17:18.465
You<00:17:14.650> know,<00:17:14.813> one<00:17:14.976> of<00:17:15.041> the<00:17:15.074> things<00:17:15.286> that<00:17:15.400> he<00:17:15.531> always<00:17:15.775> liked<00:17:15.857> to<00:17:15.954> talk<00:17:16.215> about<00:17:16.460> was<00:17:17.259> he<00:17:17.340> practiced<00:17:17.731> like<00:17:17.911> it<00:17:17.976> was<00:17:18.074> game<00:17:18.302> speed.

00:17:18.547 --> 00:17:26.598
I<00:17:18.579> actually<00:17:18.807> said<00:17:18.987> it<00:17:19.134> earlier,<00:17:21.360> but<00:17:21.602> he<00:17:21.699> always<00:17:21.926> played<00:17:22.168> really<00:17:22.831> selflessly,<00:17:23.963> not<00:17:24.124> caring<00:17:24.351> about<00:17:24.528> personal<00:17:24.933> stats,<00:17:25.434> only<00:17:25.806> wins<00:17:26.000> and<00:17:26.129> losses.

00:17:27.209 --> 00:17:29.058
And<00:17:27.305> because<00:17:27.562> of<00:17:27.627> that,<00:17:27.803> his<00:17:27.948> teammates<00:17:28.270> really<00:17:28.447> looked<00:17:28.672> up<00:17:28.832> to<00:17:28.913> him.

00:17:29.492 --> 00:17:31.791
So<00:17:29.588> I<00:17:29.733> really<00:17:29.958> like<00:17:30.151> leaders<00:17:30.440> that<00:17:30.521> kind<00:17:30.617> of<00:17:30.698> share<00:17:31.019> those<00:17:31.260> qualities.

00:17:31.984 --> 00:17:45.468
You<00:17:32.788> know,<00:17:33.254> two,<00:17:33.576> I<00:17:33.672> would<00:17:33.817> say<00:17:33.994> two<00:17:34.154> others<00:17:34.396> that<00:17:34.476> come<00:17:34.637> to<00:17:34.781> mind<00:17:35.039> that<00:17:36.205> I<00:17:36.225> don't<00:17:36.373> want<00:17:36.488> to<00:17:36.570> call<00:17:36.669> them<00:17:36.816> Derek<00:17:37.063> Jeter-esque,<00:17:37.802> but,<00:17:38.458> you<00:17:38.524> know,<00:17:38.688> Teddy<00:17:38.951> Roosevelt<00:17:39.816> and<00:17:39.897> Phil<00:17:40.154> Knight<00:17:40.782> both<00:17:40.976> had<00:17:41.137> the<00:17:41.265> enthusiasm,<00:17:41.926> both<00:17:42.151> had<00:17:42.248> the<00:17:42.393> work<00:17:42.634> ethic<00:17:43.455> that<00:17:43.858> were<00:17:44.003> inspiring<00:17:44.566> to<00:17:44.647> everyone<00:17:44.985> around<00:17:45.291> them.

00:17:45.951 --> 00:17:56.017
And<00:17:46.032> they<00:17:46.579> all<00:17:46.676> achieved<00:17:47.014> incredible<00:17:47.561> goals<00:17:47.867> because<00:17:48.270> they<00:17:48.350> were<00:17:48.447> able<00:17:48.689> to<00:17:48.769> inspire<00:17:49.172> the<00:17:49.316> team<00:17:49.493> around<00:17:49.734> them<00:17:49.959> and<00:17:50.120> really,<00:17:51.984> you<00:17:52.064> know,<00:17:52.208> practice<00:17:52.867> like<00:17:53.108> it<00:17:53.189> was<00:17:53.333> game<00:17:53.526> speed<00:17:54.056> all<00:17:54.153> the<00:17:54.297> time,<00:17:54.570> uh,<00:17:54.940> and<00:17:55.261> work<00:17:55.438> hard<00:17:55.663> every<00:17:55.840> day.

00:17:56.627 --> 00:18:04.878
And<00:17:56.707> that<00:17:56.868> was<00:17:56.965> something<00:17:57.286> that<00:17:57.913> I<00:17:57.993> felt<00:17:58.154> like<00:17:58.330> I<00:17:58.411> tried<00:17:58.636> to<00:17:58.733> bring<00:17:59.692> to<00:18:00.034> Core<00:18:00.196> Scientific<00:18:00.928> last<00:18:01.334> year<00:18:02.310> as<00:18:02.456> we<00:18:02.489> were<00:18:02.619> going<00:18:02.895> through<00:18:03.383> some<00:18:03.610> really<00:18:03.854> difficult<00:18:04.179> times<00:18:04.521> as<00:18:04.602> a<00:18:04.667> company.

00:18:05.676 --> 00:18:08.457
It<00:18:05.757> was,<00:18:06.733> let's<00:18:06.896> start<00:18:07.140> practicing<00:18:07.709> like<00:18:07.888> it's<00:18:08.034> game<00:18:08.197> speed.

00:18:08.749 --> 00:18:09.839
We're<00:18:09.091> going<00:18:09.205> to<00:18:09.335> be<00:18:09.498> public.

00:18:10.538 --> 00:18:12.116
There's<00:18:10.961> a<00:18:11.042> light<00:18:11.286> at<00:18:11.368> the<00:18:11.514> end<00:18:11.579> of<00:18:11.612> the<00:18:11.693> tunnel<00:18:12.018> here.

00:18:13.757 --> 00:18:17.879
And<00:18:13.968> so<00:18:14.244> those<00:18:14.422> are<00:18:14.730> a<00:18:14.974> few<00:18:15.234> people<00:18:15.558> that<00:18:15.720> I<00:18:15.801> would<00:18:15.899> say<00:18:16.045> come<00:18:16.207> to<00:18:16.353> mind<00:18:16.532> when<00:18:16.743> I<00:18:16.775> think<00:18:16.872> about<00:18:17.424> great<00:18:17.651> leaders.

00:18:19.031 --> 00:18:26.311
Would<00:18:19.128> you<00:18:19.209> say<00:18:19.534> the<00:18:19.615> practicing<00:18:20.183> at<00:18:20.264> game<00:18:20.442> speed<00:18:20.686> is<00:18:22.594> what<00:18:22.755> defines<00:18:23.159> your<00:18:23.256> culture,<00:18:23.967> or<00:18:24.711> how<00:18:24.792> do<00:18:24.937> you<00:18:25.099> define<00:18:25.422> your<00:18:25.519> company's<00:18:25.988> culture?

00:18:30.403 --> 00:18:34.981
If<00:18:30.548> we<00:18:30.613> were<00:18:30.711> going<00:18:30.808> to<00:18:30.873> define<00:18:31.197> the<00:18:31.278> company<00:18:31.603> culture,<00:18:31.992> I'd<00:18:32.089> probably<00:18:32.559> do<00:18:32.738> it<00:18:32.981> via<00:18:33.370> our<00:18:33.844> corporate<00:18:34.533> values.

00:18:35.894 --> 00:18:45.957
We<00:18:36.135> went<00:18:36.295> through<00:18:36.439> a<00:18:36.535> pretty<00:18:36.840> extensive<00:18:37.272> process<00:18:38.058> interviewing<00:18:38.923> people<00:18:39.724> inside<00:18:40.060> the<00:18:40.141> team,<00:18:40.381> people<00:18:40.765> outside<00:18:41.102> the<00:18:41.246> team,<00:18:42.464> to<00:18:42.528> really<00:18:42.784> understand<00:18:43.425> how<00:18:43.730> people<00:18:44.130> viewed<00:18:44.371> us<00:18:44.627> and<00:18:44.771> how<00:18:45.027> we<00:18:45.188> view<00:18:45.428> ourselves.

00:18:47.094 --> 00:18:53.680
We<00:18:47.126> kind<00:18:47.351> of<00:18:47.431> narrowed<00:18:47.767> it<00:18:47.912> down<00:18:48.312> to<00:18:48.488> about<00:18:48.697> 4<00:18:49.129> corporate<00:18:50.796> values<00:18:51.276> that<00:18:51.421> we<00:18:51.517> feel<00:18:51.821> like<00:18:52.077> embody<00:18:53.103> our<00:18:53.199> culture.

00:18:54.865 --> 00:19:04.356
It<00:18:55.202> takes<00:18:55.602> a<00:18:55.763> bit<00:18:56.067> from,<00:18:57.269> I<00:18:57.910> would<00:18:58.022> say,<00:18:58.647> a<00:18:59.031> military<00:18:59.624> approach,<00:19:00.329> but<00:19:00.714> it<00:19:00.810> also<00:19:01.050> takes<00:19:01.435> from<00:19:02.574> lean<00:19:02.991> startup<00:19:03.553> style<00:19:03.939> approach.

00:19:04.902 --> 00:19:11.165
And<00:19:04.983> so<00:19:05.609> kind<00:19:05.737> of<00:19:05.770> the<00:19:05.866> first<00:19:06.251> two<00:19:06.653> are,<00:19:06.910> I<00:19:06.974> would<00:19:07.070> say,<00:19:07.391> more<00:19:08.178> on<00:19:08.211> the<00:19:08.291> military<00:19:08.853> side,<00:19:09.078> which<00:19:09.238> is<00:19:09.543> the<00:19:09.784> first<00:19:10.041> one's<00:19:10.282> Extreme<00:19:10.668> Ownership.

00:19:11.567 --> 00:19:12.868
It's<00:19:11.792> act<00:19:11.984> as<00:19:12.113> owners<00:19:12.386> of<00:19:12.434> the<00:19:12.530> business.

00:19:12.996 --> 00:19:22.905
Everyone's<00:19:13.414> an<00:19:13.574> owner<00:19:14.361> and<00:19:15.084> everyone<00:19:15.325> has<00:19:15.501> to<00:19:15.903> work<00:19:16.963> in<00:19:17.043> the<00:19:17.188> best<00:19:17.493> interest<00:19:18.055> of<00:19:18.456> not<00:19:18.633> only<00:19:18.729> our<00:19:18.874> stakeholders,<00:19:20.159> but<00:19:20.303> also<00:19:20.560> ourselves<00:19:21.203> and<00:19:21.283> hold<00:19:21.459> ourselves<00:19:21.829> accountable<00:19:22.230> to<00:19:22.391> our<00:19:22.487> actions.

00:19:23.676 --> 00:19:24.912
The<00:19:23.708> second<00:19:24.077> one's<00:19:24.318> Team<00:19:24.575> First.

00:19:25.683 --> 00:19:32.327
Always<00:19:26.004> operate<00:19:26.582> with<00:19:26.743> integrity<00:19:27.225> and<00:19:27.369> maintain<00:19:27.707> the<00:19:27.851> highest<00:19:28.269> standards<00:19:29.537> of<00:19:30.018> maintaining<00:19:30.675> the<00:19:30.836> best<00:19:31.220> team<00:19:31.461> you<00:19:31.621> possibly<00:19:32.103> can.

00:19:32.920 --> 00:19:38.148
And<00:19:33.017> so<00:19:33.963> those<00:19:34.203> two,<00:19:34.428> I<00:19:34.508> would<00:19:34.588> say,<00:19:34.749> are<00:19:34.925> really<00:19:35.246> focal<00:19:35.631> points<00:19:35.887> that<00:19:36.031> come<00:19:36.208> from<00:19:36.368> more<00:19:36.513> of<00:19:36.545> a<00:19:36.609> military<00:19:37.571> perspective.

00:19:38.694 --> 00:19:43.745
The<00:19:38.758> next<00:19:39.014> one<00:19:39.191> is<00:19:39.351> more<00:19:40.361> on<00:19:40.458> the<00:19:40.618> technology<00:19:41.259> side,<00:19:42.125> which<00:19:42.302> is<00:19:42.847> innovate<00:19:43.072> and<00:19:43.184> simplify.

00:19:44.371 --> 00:19:48.203
Our<00:19:45.670> business<00:19:46.135> is<00:19:46.632> relatively<00:19:47.033> simple<00:19:47.434> when<00:19:47.514> you<00:19:47.594> look<00:19:47.770> at<00:19:47.851> its<00:19:47.979> core.

00:19:48.460 --> 00:19:51.282
We<00:19:48.620> transform<00:19:49.037> power<00:19:49.358> into<00:19:49.663> high-value<00:19:50.881> compute.

00:19:51.363 --> 00:19:55.051
Today,<00:19:51.603> we<00:19:51.747> do<00:19:51.780> that<00:19:51.924> for<00:19:52.084> Bitcoin,<00:19:52.966> and<00:19:53.030> we're<00:19:53.191> constantly<00:19:53.592> looking<00:19:53.832> at<00:19:53.928> ways<00:19:54.153> that<00:19:54.297> we<00:19:54.329> can<00:19:54.490> improve<00:19:54.794> that.

00:19:56.095 --> 00:19:59.950
But<00:19:56.320> always<00:19:56.962> thinking<00:19:57.219> about<00:19:57.460> ways<00:19:57.701> that<00:19:57.781> we<00:19:57.862> can<00:19:58.022> just<00:19:58.263> make<00:19:58.488> our<00:19:58.665> business<00:19:59.532> simpler.

00:20:00.994 --> 00:20:05.748
And<00:20:01.074> oftentimes<00:20:01.636> that<00:20:01.781> results<00:20:02.118> in<00:20:02.423> outcomes<00:20:02.761> that<00:20:03.564> lower<00:20:04.045> the<00:20:04.126> cost<00:20:04.608> for<00:20:04.752> us<00:20:04.849> to<00:20:05.009> operate<00:20:05.250> our<00:20:05.411> business.

00:20:06.599 --> 00:20:08.270
And<00:20:07.001> the<00:20:07.081> last<00:20:07.322> one's<00:20:07.499> transparency.

00:20:08.784 --> 00:20:19.802
We<00:20:09.025> always<00:20:09.201> seek<00:20:09.410> to<00:20:09.491> maximize<00:20:09.892> transparency<00:20:10.535> to<00:20:10.615> all<00:20:10.711> of<00:20:10.872> our<00:20:10.968> stakeholders,<00:20:11.579> but<00:20:12.382> transparency<00:20:13.024> to<00:20:13.105> your<00:20:13.265> team<00:20:13.538> in<00:20:13.667> times<00:20:13.908> of<00:20:14.004> crisis<00:20:15.096> have<00:20:15.273> been<00:20:15.385> probably<00:20:16.815> the<00:20:16.895> best<00:20:17.779> thing<00:20:17.939> that<00:20:18.084> you<00:20:18.164> could<00:20:18.260> possibly<00:20:18.726> do<00:20:18.903> for<00:20:19.385> a<00:20:19.465> company.

00:20:21.120 --> 00:20:27.948
The<00:20:21.168> more<00:20:21.313> people<00:20:21.620> are<00:20:21.717> bought<00:20:21.943> into<00:20:22.524> what<00:20:22.685> you're<00:20:22.847> doing<00:20:23.089> and<00:20:23.170> the<00:20:23.250> more<00:20:23.412> people<00:20:23.638> understand<00:20:23.993> what's<00:20:24.154> going<00:20:24.445> on,<00:20:25.494> it<00:20:25.591> really<00:20:25.817> changes<00:20:26.705> how<00:20:27.109> people<00:20:27.448> operate.

00:20:28.481 --> 00:20:30.594
And<00:20:29.062> I<00:20:29.126> think<00:20:29.288> we've<00:20:29.449> really<00:20:29.611> seen<00:20:29.788> a<00:20:29.869> positive<00:20:30.192> impact.

00:20:31.061 --> 00:20:41.013
We<00:20:31.174> actually<00:20:31.705> released<00:20:32.027> these<00:20:32.848> values<00:20:33.331> last<00:20:33.718> year<00:20:34.539> and<00:20:34.619> we've<00:20:34.958> seen<00:20:35.505> a<00:20:35.811> real<00:20:35.972> positive<00:20:36.374> impact<00:20:36.696> just<00:20:36.938> by<00:20:37.260> communicating<00:20:38.323> those<00:20:38.628> and<00:20:38.725> being<00:20:38.951> transparent<00:20:39.450> about<00:20:40.001> what<00:20:40.180> we<00:20:40.328> expect<00:20:40.605> of<00:20:40.687> our<00:20:40.834> team.

00:20:43.300 --> 00:20:49.620
How<00:20:43.412> often<00:20:43.653> do<00:20:43.718> you<00:20:43.814> think<00:20:44.071> about<00:20:44.441> just<00:20:44.860> the<00:20:45.406> current<00:20:45.824> macroeconomic<00:20:47.449> environment,<00:20:48.253> state<00:20:48.655> of<00:20:48.719> the<00:20:48.944> world?

00:20:49.829 --> 00:20:51.035
We're<00:20:50.231> in<00:20:50.263> an<00:20:50.328> election<00:20:50.456> year<00:20:50.617> right<00:20:50.665> now<00:20:50.697> at<00:20:50.730> the<00:20:50.778> beginning<00:20:50.939> of<00:20:50.971> it.

00:20:53.250 --> 00:20:58.174
Really,<00:20:54.319> a<00:20:54.416> lot<00:20:54.643> of<00:20:55.631> chaos<00:20:56.441> is<00:20:56.586> predicted<00:20:57.007> to<00:20:57.153> come<00:20:57.639> this<00:20:57.898> year.

00:20:58.708 --> 00:21:00.474
How<00:20:58.870> do<00:20:59.016> you<00:20:59.518> think<00:20:59.939> about<00:21:00.312> that?

00:21:00.555 --> 00:21:06.323
How<00:21:00.717> often<00:21:01.041> do<00:21:01.122> you<00:21:01.219> think<00:21:01.478> about—<00:21:01.932> Do<00:21:01.964> you<00:21:02.013> have<00:21:02.126> any<00:21:02.240> takes<00:21:02.991> on<00:21:03.661> just<00:21:03.889> the<00:21:03.938> macroeconomic<00:21:05.637> state<00:21:05.882> of<00:21:05.947> the<00:21:06.094> world?

00:21:09.271 --> 00:21:11.364
Macroeconomics<00:21:10.163> definitely<00:21:10.569> affect<00:21:10.909> our<00:21:11.055> business.

00:21:12.013 --> 00:21:13.197
We<00:21:12.110> saw<00:21:12.272> it<00:21:12.434> in<00:21:12.515> 2022.

00:21:14.121 --> 00:21:17.139
A<00:21:14.219> war<00:21:14.381> in<00:21:14.527> Ukraine<00:21:14.933> can<00:21:15.046> affect<00:21:15.435> a<00:21:15.679> mining<00:21:16.068> company<00:21:16.393> in<00:21:16.441> North<00:21:16.652> America.

00:21:18.488 --> 00:21:22.692
But<00:21:18.571> you're<00:21:18.736> absolutely<00:21:19.002> right,<00:21:19.317> probably<00:21:19.582> more<00:21:19.814> conflict,<00:21:20.560> more<00:21:20.742> uncertainty,<00:21:21.906> more<00:21:22.066> volatility.

00:21:23.430 --> 00:21:31.915
Um,<00:21:23.751> the<00:21:23.831> good<00:21:23.943> news<00:21:24.248> is<00:21:24.392> we<00:21:24.472> have<00:21:24.954> a<00:21:25.034> pretty<00:21:25.194> strong<00:21:25.515> economy<00:21:25.868> in<00:21:25.916> the<00:21:25.996> US<00:21:26.237> right<00:21:26.333> now,<00:21:27.199> uh,<00:21:27.295> but<00:21:27.360> we're<00:21:27.536> also<00:21:27.696> in<00:21:27.761> an<00:21:27.921> election<00:21:28.242> year,<00:21:28.739> so,<00:21:29.541> you<00:21:29.605> know,<00:21:29.766> there's,<00:21:30.503> there's<00:21:30.664> gives<00:21:30.904> and<00:21:30.985> takes<00:21:31.289> on<00:21:31.386> both<00:21:31.546> sides.

00:21:32.252 --> 00:21:38.058
Um,<00:21:33.407> I<00:21:33.439> would<00:21:33.535> have<00:21:33.631> to<00:21:33.792> imagine<00:21:34.273> that,<00:21:35.139> you<00:21:35.171> know,<00:21:35.315> there's<00:21:35.556> going<00:21:35.652> to<00:21:35.700> be<00:21:35.797> major<00:21:36.117> interest<00:21:36.454> rate<00:21:36.599> decisions<00:21:37.160> over<00:21:37.304> the<00:21:37.401> course<00:21:37.577> of<00:21:37.641> this<00:21:37.898> year.

00:21:38.844 --> 00:21:59.357
You<00:21:38.941> know,<00:21:39.005> the<00:21:39.261> existing,<00:21:40.753> uh,<00:21:41.170> group<00:21:41.491> does<00:21:41.667> not<00:21:41.972> want<00:21:42.293> inflation<00:21:42.774> metrics<00:21:43.175> to<00:21:43.255> really<00:21:43.496> tick<00:21:43.720> up<00:21:43.897> prior<00:21:44.458> to,<00:21:45.485> uh,<00:21:45.726> the<00:21:45.822> election,<00:21:46.704> but<00:21:46.848> we're<00:21:46.945> already<00:21:47.249> running<00:21:47.827> hotter<00:21:48.212> than<00:21:48.372> 2%<00:21:48.565> inflation<00:21:49.832> With<00:21:49.928> interest<00:21:50.298> rates<00:21:50.491> potentially<00:21:50.876> going<00:21:51.117> down,<00:21:52.241> these<00:21:53.848> all<00:21:53.992> present—<00:21:54.554> they<00:21:54.876> all<00:21:55.277> group<00:21:55.454> together<00:21:55.920> to<00:21:56.803> be<00:21:57.703> potentially<00:21:58.168> a<00:21:58.185> net<00:21:58.425> positive<00:21:58.891> for<00:21:59.052> Bitcoin.

00:22:00.096 --> 00:22:02.923
And<00:22:00.835> obviously,<00:22:01.172> that<00:22:01.381> affects<00:22:01.702> us<00:22:02.361> as<00:22:02.505> a<00:22:02.586> company.

00:22:02.987 --> 00:22:07.742
And<00:22:03.084> so<00:22:04.128> things<00:22:04.834> are<00:22:04.915> lining<00:22:05.236> up,<00:22:05.557> at<00:22:05.638> least<00:22:05.814> in<00:22:05.895> my<00:22:06.055> view,<00:22:06.441> to<00:22:06.537> be<00:22:06.682> a<00:22:06.762> really<00:22:07.019> interesting<00:22:07.501> year.

00:22:08.465 --> 00:22:17.359
Because<00:22:08.786> there<00:22:08.963> is<00:22:09.107> that<00:22:09.252> much<00:22:09.428> uncertainty,<00:22:10.055> there's<00:22:10.232> a<00:22:10.248> lot<00:22:10.473> of<00:22:10.553> potential<00:22:11.035> volatility<00:22:11.597> on<00:22:11.629> the<00:22:11.758> horizon,<00:22:12.320> but<00:22:13.043> hopefully,<00:22:13.765> it's<00:22:14.167> for<00:22:14.247> the<00:22:14.328> net<00:22:14.488> benefit<00:22:14.906> of<00:22:15.440> of,<00:22:15.940> of<00:22:16.107> us<00:22:16.291> as<00:22:16.391> a<00:22:16.458> Bitcoin<00:22:16.792> mining<00:22:17.042> company.

00:22:19.056 --> 00:22:22.735
Adam,<00:22:19.216> I<00:22:19.232> want<00:22:19.361> to<00:22:19.393> be<00:22:19.473> respectful<00:22:19.891> of<00:22:19.955> your<00:22:20.100> time,<00:22:20.453> and<00:22:20.678> again,<00:22:20.919> thank<00:22:21.144> you<00:22:21.176> so<00:22:21.337> much<00:22:21.562> for,<00:22:21.948> for<00:22:22.028> hopping<00:22:22.301> on<00:22:22.430> the<00:22:22.510> show.

00:22:22.831 --> 00:22:31.661
We<00:22:23.072> end<00:22:23.394> every<00:22:23.972> interview<00:22:24.470> the<00:22:24.599> exact<00:22:24.952> same<00:22:25.241> way,<00:22:26.366> uh,<00:22:26.527> and<00:22:26.623> that<00:22:26.784> is<00:22:26.944> at<00:22:27.025> CEO.com,<00:22:28.310> we<00:22:28.471> believe<00:22:28.680> the<00:22:28.776> chances<00:22:29.179> one<00:22:29.340> takes<00:22:29.679> is<00:22:29.824> just<00:22:29.985> as<00:22:30.082> important<00:22:30.340> as<00:22:30.469> the<00:22:30.565> chances<00:22:30.968> one<00:22:31.210> gives.

00:22:32.161 --> 00:22:35.304
When<00:22:32.322> you<00:22:32.564> hear<00:22:32.806> that,<00:22:33.047> who<00:22:33.225> gave<00:22:33.466> you<00:22:33.628> a<00:22:33.708> chance<00:22:34.111> to<00:22:34.192> get<00:22:34.417> you<00:22:34.514> to<00:22:34.595> where<00:22:34.820> you<00:22:34.998> are<00:22:35.143> today?

00:22:38.005 --> 00:22:44.005
There's<00:22:38.231> definitely,<00:22:39.153> uh,<00:22:40.738> a<00:22:40.819> person<00:22:41.142> that<00:22:41.546> took<00:22:41.724> a<00:22:41.805> chance<00:22:42.193> on<00:22:42.647> on<00:22:42.808> me<00:22:42.905> back<00:22:43.164> in<00:22:43.229> 2017.

00:22:44.749 --> 00:22:56.817
As<00:22:45.154> you<00:22:45.234> can<00:22:45.331> imagine,<00:22:45.898> telling<00:22:46.205> someone<00:22:46.528> that<00:22:46.625> you<00:22:46.706> want<00:22:46.900> to<00:22:47.014> launch<00:22:47.272> an<00:22:47.353> investment<00:22:47.677> banking<00:22:48.000> team<00:22:48.324> focused<00:22:48.647> on<00:22:48.809> crypto<00:22:50.992> in<00:22:51.073> the<00:22:51.154> traditional<00:22:51.575> investment<00:22:51.882> banking<00:22:52.208> world,<00:22:52.452> I<00:22:52.533> think<00:22:52.696> a<00:22:52.713> lot<00:22:52.941> of<00:22:53.022> people<00:22:54.488> would<00:22:54.585> say,<00:22:55.204> you<00:22:55.302> know,<00:22:55.774> what<00:22:55.954> the<00:22:56.100> heck<00:22:56.361> are<00:22:56.426> you<00:22:56.605> doing?

00:22:58.821 --> 00:23:03.432
But<00:22:58.997> there<00:22:59.142> was,<00:23:00.010> you<00:23:00.042> know,<00:23:00.170> the<00:23:00.267> group<00:23:00.572> that<00:23:00.733> I<00:23:00.990> was<00:23:01.214> part<00:23:01.375> of<00:23:01.793> for<00:23:01.970> 6<00:23:02.339> years,<00:23:02.596> XMS<00:23:02.998> Capital.

00:23:04.042 --> 00:23:04.894
There<00:23:04.187> were<00:23:04.283> 2<00:23:04.508> partners.

00:23:04.990 --> 00:23:09.462
I<00:23:05.006> remember<00:23:05.263> sitting<00:23:05.649> down<00:23:06.211> at<00:23:06.291> a<00:23:06.452> lunch<00:23:07.014> when<00:23:07.480> I<00:23:07.577> was<00:23:07.882> pitching<00:23:08.203> the<00:23:08.300> idea<00:23:08.510> to<00:23:08.629> launch<00:23:08.952> this<00:23:09.139> team.

00:23:10.156 --> 00:23:17.867
And<00:23:11.118> one<00:23:11.230> of<00:23:11.294> those<00:23:11.615> individuals<00:23:12.160> took<00:23:12.817> a<00:23:12.897> big<00:23:13.058> chance<00:23:13.378> on<00:23:13.539> me<00:23:13.699> and<00:23:13.795> said,<00:23:14.564> you<00:23:14.821> know<00:23:14.885> what,<00:23:14.997> I'm<00:23:15.142> gonna<00:23:15.286> commit<00:23:15.606> my<00:23:15.783> time<00:23:16.103> to<00:23:16.184> helping<00:23:16.729> you<00:23:16.905> grow<00:23:17.161> this<00:23:17.370> practice.

00:23:19.053 --> 00:23:20.448
That<00:23:19.165> was<00:23:19.790> Ted<00:23:19.951> Brombach.

00:23:20.832 --> 00:23:24.471
He<00:23:20.961> understood<00:23:21.329> the<00:23:21.458> potential<00:23:22.516> that<00:23:23.397> this<00:23:23.622> opportunity<00:23:24.183> had.

00:23:25.802 --> 00:23:35.981
And<00:23:25.850> he<00:23:25.946> also<00:23:26.138> understood<00:23:26.587> that<00:23:26.828> whoever<00:23:27.325> was<00:23:27.790> gonna<00:23:27.966> do<00:23:28.126> this<00:23:28.767> was<00:23:28.912> about<00:23:29.152> to<00:23:29.184> spend<00:23:29.425> a<00:23:29.489> lot<00:23:29.713> of<00:23:29.809> time<00:23:30.611> and<00:23:30.707> a<00:23:30.755> lot<00:23:30.932> of<00:23:31.076> heartache<00:23:32.294> over<00:23:32.454> the<00:23:32.599> course<00:23:32.919> of<00:23:33.593> a<00:23:33.657> few<00:23:33.977> years<00:23:34.298> to<00:23:34.378> try<00:23:34.619> to<00:23:34.779> build<00:23:35.019> this<00:23:35.180> type<00:23:35.420> of<00:23:35.484> practice.

00:23:36.607 --> 00:23:37.906
And,<00:23:37.024> you<00:23:37.104> know,<00:23:37.184> he<00:23:37.329> stuck<00:23:37.650> with<00:23:37.810> us.

00:23:38.211 --> 00:23:45.769
He<00:23:38.292> stuck<00:23:38.532> with<00:23:38.629> me<00:23:38.885> through<00:23:39.575> the<00:23:39.672> course<00:23:40.057> of<00:23:40.153> 2018<00:23:41.020> when<00:23:41.180> we<00:23:41.276> went<00:23:41.533> into<00:23:41.902> a<00:23:42.063> deep<00:23:42.239> crypto<00:23:42.640> winter<00:23:43.057> and<00:23:43.587> it<00:23:43.619> felt<00:23:43.924> like,<00:23:44.229> you<00:23:44.261> know,<00:23:44.341> the<00:23:44.486> industry<00:23:44.951> was<00:23:45.111> falling<00:23:45.384> apart.

00:23:46.315 --> 00:23:55.574
Um,<00:23:47.534> but<00:23:47.695> throughout<00:23:48.000> that<00:23:48.080> entire<00:23:48.497> time,<00:23:48.834> as<00:23:48.979> we<00:23:49.043> were<00:23:49.139> trying<00:23:49.300> to<00:23:49.444> build<00:23:49.620> the<00:23:49.701> practice,<00:23:50.663> you<00:23:50.728> know,<00:23:50.904> he<00:23:50.984> was<00:23:51.129> always<00:23:51.370> pushing<00:23:51.626> me<00:23:51.851> to,<00:23:52.268> to<00:23:52.413> find,<00:23:53.536> uh,<00:23:53.889> you<00:23:53.953> know,<00:23:54.178> what,<00:23:54.499> what<00:23:54.579> are<00:23:54.739> we<00:23:54.836> trying<00:23:55.012> to<00:23:55.092> achieve<00:23:55.477> here?

00:23:56.264 --> 00:24:12.260
And<00:23:57.082> we<00:23:57.243> built<00:23:57.499> an<00:23:57.788> incredible<00:23:58.205> practice<00:23:58.703> at<00:23:58.831> XMS<00:23:59.633> purely<00:23:59.954> because<00:24:00.676> we<00:24:00.773> never<00:24:01.158> left<00:24:01.399> the<00:24:01.495> seat<00:24:01.832> of<00:24:01.960> trying<00:24:02.153> to<00:24:02.297> work<00:24:02.522> with<00:24:02.682> companies,<00:24:03.100> whether<00:24:03.420> it<00:24:03.485> was<00:24:04.064> a<00:24:04.144> downturn<00:24:04.564> in<00:24:04.628> the<00:24:04.709> environment<00:24:05.290> or<00:24:05.419> whether,<00:24:05.919> you<00:24:06.016> know,<00:24:06.145> we're<00:24:06.306> in<00:24:06.403> the<00:24:06.791> roaring<00:24:07.210> 2020s<00:24:08.323> and<00:24:08.420> 2021s<00:24:09.291> of,<00:24:10.501> of<00:24:10.598> crypto's<00:24:11.163> bull<00:24:11.405> run.

00:24:12.696 --> 00:24:17.681
And<00:24:12.776> so<00:24:13.099> he<00:24:13.260> really<00:24:13.390> stuck<00:24:13.647> by,<00:24:14.129> stuck<00:24:14.386> by<00:24:14.547> me,<00:24:14.691> was<00:24:14.788> a<00:24:14.852> great<00:24:15.029> mentor,<00:24:15.817> still<00:24:16.074> is<00:24:16.717> an<00:24:16.797> amazing<00:24:17.119> mentor<00:24:17.440> to<00:24:17.601> me.

Congratulations,<00:24:25.740> too,<00:24:25.985> by<00:24:26.148> the<00:24:26.295> way.

00:24:26.458 --> 00:24:37.013

00:24:37.109 --> 00:24:38.135
Congratulations<00:24:37.830> on<00:24:37.926> that.
