# Nicole Sahin built what lawyers said couldn't be done

For six years, Nicole Sahin helped companies set up shop in other countries. Each one meant a new legal entity, a new payroll, a new tax filing. She got good at it, and she got tired of it.

"There has to be a more scalable way for companies to do business around the globe," she said on the CEO.com Podcast, recalling the thought that made her quit. She had a noncompete to wait out, so she spent the year reading the employment and tax law of one country after another, trying to find out whether a single company could legally employ people everywhere on behalf of other businesses. Most lawyers and tax advisors at the time, she said, would have told her it couldn't be done.

She founded [Globalization Partners](https://www.globalization-partners.com/?ref=ceo.com) in 2012 anyway. The company, now called G-P, built its own entities country by country and put software on top. A customer drafts an employment contract on the platform and hits send. The offer goes out from G-P's local entity. G-P is the employer on paper. The customer gets the hire. Today the company does this in [more than 180 countries](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/g-p-secures-1-leader-ranking-in-2026-iec-group-global-eor-study-302754888.html?ref=ceo.com), and the thing she was told couldn't be done has a name, employer of record, and a crowd of competitors.

Sahin stepped back to executive chair for a year and [returned as CEO in February 2023](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/g-p-announces-the-return-of-nicole-sahin-visionary-founder-of-the-employer-of-record-industry-as-ceo-301745966.html?ref=ceo.com). A year later, Fortune was calling it a [$4 billion business](https://fortune.com/2024/02/26/gp-ceo-nicole-sahin-globalization-dead-accelerating/?ref=ceo.com). G-P [finished 2025](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/g-p-closes-2025-with-record-breaking-growth-ai-innovation-and-market-leadership-302667097.html?ref=ceo.com) with the highest revenue in its history.

None of that is what she wants to talk about. She told the CEO.com Podcast that the original employer-of-record business has reached maybe 40 percent of the companies that could use it, and that she has mentally moved on. "We've already built it."

What she wants to talk about is AI, and she is unusually direct about why. "We didn't know what we needed at the time when we set out to do this," she said, "but we needed AI in order to just effectively and efficiently manage the legal compliance across such a broad scan of work."

Her example is firing. In some countries it is, on paper, not legal to let someone go. People get let go anyway. What actually happens is a negotiation, and the shape of that negotiation is known to the lawyers and HR people on the ground in that country and almost nobody else. G-P has spent 13 years building that bench across 180 countries. The company fed what they know into a product she describes as a legal team on one shoulder and an HR team on the other, both fluent in every jurisdiction. The product is [G-P Gia](https://www.globalization-partners.com/gia/?ref=ceo.com). In June, the company followed it with what it calls an [agentic platform](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/g-p-unveils-worlds-first-agentic-ai-global-employment-platform-302790846.html?ref=ceo.com) that writes labor law into workflows, and this week it [opened that data](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/g-p-delivers-compliant-global-workforce-intelligence-to-enterprise-ai-tools-302859999.html?ref=ceo.com) to Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Workday, and ADP.

She sees more in it than compliance. "The last maybe five generations of people of our elders and ancestors were fighting for employment rights," she said. "That's what we're codifying into the future of humanity."

She is also, by her own account, rereading Ray Kurzweil. She first picked up The Singularity Is Near around 2005 and found it convincing but far off. Kurzweil said humans would merge with machines by 2029\. "Now, where I'm looking at it, I feel like he's probably right on track," she said. She expects brain chips in children within a decade and says the current version of us will look like Neanderthals by comparison. Then she asks the obvious question. "Who programs the brain chips?" She does not answer it.

The rest of her day is more ordinary. Up at 5 a.m., meditation, at her desk by seven or eight because the world's time zones do not wait for Boston. Headlines, but not politics. "Politics is meant to be very distracting," she said. "The real story of our generation is in science and technology."

The part of the conversation that had nothing to do with software was about a hire she made years ago. When she visited G-P's teams in India or Mexico, someone met her at the airport, took her to dinner with their parents, and filled her schedule until she left. When an Indian colleague flew to Boston, they cleared customs alone, found a taxi alone, and walked into an office where nobody knew they were coming. So she hired a woman whose whole job was hospitality, to bring those traditions into the headquarters. The role went remote during the pandemic, along with everyone else, and she doesn't pretend that worked. "It's a challenge to run a cozy, really vibrant company culture by Zoom," she said. "I think meeting in person is required in this day and age occasionally."

Every episode of the CEO.com Podcast closes with the same question: who gave you a chance? Sahin grew up in the Midwest, where nobody she knew traveled abroad. Her parents encouraged her to go anyway, first at a young age and again to study overseas in college. "That must have taken an incredible amount of courage," she said.

00:00:26.109 --> 00:00:26.917
Thank<00:00:26.439> you,<00:00:26.604> Clint.

00:00:27.016 --> 00:00:29.178
Yeah,<00:00:27.099> I'm<00:00:27.297> so<00:00:27.528> happy<00:00:27.775> to<00:00:27.858> be<00:00:28.089> here<00:00:28.254> and<00:00:28.336> love,<00:00:28.666> love<00:00:28.848> your<00:00:28.996> show.

00:00:31.250 --> 00:00:34.341
So<00:00:31.362> GP<00:00:31.990> is<00:00:32.167> a<00:00:32.876> recognized<00:00:33.294> leader<00:00:33.536> in<00:00:33.616> global<00:00:33.906> employment.

00:00:34.582 --> 00:00:43.272
What<00:00:34.727> we<00:00:34.824> do<00:00:34.985> is<00:00:35.130> we<00:00:35.226> help<00:00:35.452> companies<00:00:35.870> hire<00:00:36.337> anyone,<00:00:36.981> anywhere,<00:00:37.400> quickly<00:00:37.867> and<00:00:37.964> easily<00:00:38.350> without<00:00:38.608> them<00:00:38.849> having<00:00:39.155> to<00:00:39.252> figure<00:00:39.558> out<00:00:39.799> how<00:00:39.896> to<00:00:40.057> navigate<00:00:40.701> the<00:00:40.846> legal<00:00:41.247> HR<00:00:41.520> and<00:00:41.665> tax<00:00:41.986> jurisdictions<00:00:42.613> around<00:00:42.790> the<00:00:42.934> globe.

00:00:43.899 --> 00:00:50.698
And<00:00:43.995> what<00:00:44.300> we<00:00:44.622> built<00:00:45.184> and<00:00:45.521> the<00:00:45.746> industry<00:00:46.164> that<00:00:46.245> I<00:00:46.325> started<00:00:46.807> and<00:00:46.903> kind<00:00:47.193> of<00:00:47.289> figured<00:00:47.675> out<00:00:48.317> was<00:00:48.639> we<00:00:48.799> built<00:00:48.992> companies<00:00:49.394> in<00:00:49.522> each<00:00:49.699> country<00:00:50.021> around<00:00:50.230> the<00:00:50.347> globe.

00:00:50.765 --> 00:00:52.202
So<00:00:50.999> 180<00:00:51.500> different<00:00:51.751> countries.

00:00:52.552 --> 00:01:11.545
When<00:00:52.712> a<00:00:52.728> company<00:00:53.193> wants<00:00:53.434> to<00:00:53.578> hire<00:00:53.899> an<00:00:53.979> employee<00:00:54.380> in<00:00:54.461> another<00:00:54.782> country,<00:00:55.199> instead<00:00:55.503> of<00:00:55.616> figuring<00:00:56.065> out<00:00:56.706> how<00:00:56.803> to<00:00:56.883> run<00:00:57.124> payroll,<00:00:57.669> how<00:00:57.701> to<00:00:57.781> set<00:00:57.990> up<00:00:58.086> a<00:00:58.150> company<00:00:58.487> in<00:00:58.631> that<00:00:58.808> country,<00:00:59.770> which<00:01:00.316> like<00:01:00.813> makes<00:01:01.054> them<00:01:01.439> have<00:01:01.615> to<00:01:01.695> file<00:01:02.321> taxes<00:01:02.722> in<00:01:02.818> that<00:01:02.979> country,<00:01:03.700> we<00:01:03.797> set<00:01:03.941> up<00:01:04.085> companies<00:01:04.502> in<00:01:04.663> each<00:01:04.823> country<00:01:05.609> and<00:01:05.706> give<00:01:05.866> all<00:01:06.010> of<00:01:06.091> our<00:01:06.123> customers<00:01:06.812> access<00:01:07.213> to<00:01:07.390> it<00:01:07.951> using<00:01:08.449> a<00:01:08.513> software<00:01:08.994> that<00:01:09.138> we've<00:01:09.315> built<00:01:09.700> on<00:01:09.796> top<00:01:10.037> of<00:01:10.117> our<00:01:10.261> global<00:01:10.582> legal<00:01:10.839> infrastructure.

00:01:11.881 --> 00:01:26.165
So<00:01:12.347> ultimately,<00:01:12.908> like<00:01:13.068> a<00:01:13.084> customer<00:01:13.951> logs<00:01:14.191> on<00:01:14.288> to<00:01:14.352> our<00:01:14.528> platform,<00:01:15.234> builds<00:01:15.427> a<00:01:15.491> locally<00:01:15.811> compliant<00:01:16.341> employment<00:01:16.694> contract,<00:01:17.576> but<00:01:17.672> when<00:01:17.817> they<00:01:17.977> hit<00:01:18.154> send<00:01:18.683> on<00:01:18.843> the<00:01:19.004> offer,<00:01:20.143> The<00:01:20.448> offer,<00:01:20.705> the<00:01:20.785> employment<00:01:21.171> contract<00:01:21.508> goes<00:01:21.813> out<00:01:21.909> from<00:01:22.054> our<00:01:22.231> local<00:01:22.536> company<00:01:23.355> and<00:01:23.515> country<00:01:23.997> directly<00:01:24.414> to<00:01:24.639> the<00:01:24.719> client's<00:01:25.346> end<00:01:25.522> employee.

00:01:26.422 --> 00:01:37.854
So<00:01:26.791> legally<00:01:27.192> we're<00:01:27.289> the<00:01:27.449> employer<00:01:27.690> of<00:01:27.851> record<00:01:28.172> in<00:01:28.252> each<00:01:28.477> country,<00:01:28.894> but<00:01:29.119> the<00:01:29.280> customer<00:01:29.697> is<00:01:29.858> like,<00:01:30.725> you<00:01:30.757> know,<00:01:31.223> like<00:01:31.383> they're<00:01:31.528> working<00:01:33.230> usually<00:01:34.017> all<00:01:34.177> inclusively<00:01:34.675> for<00:01:35.060> that<00:01:35.317> customer<00:01:35.799> and<00:01:36.040> meeting<00:01:36.361> the<00:01:36.441> needs<00:01:36.763> of<00:01:36.843> the<00:01:36.923> customer<00:01:37.308> in<00:01:37.389> that<00:01:37.630> country.

00:01:38.384 --> 00:01:40.986
So,<00:01:39.974> so<00:01:40.135> how<00:01:40.295> did<00:01:40.456> that<00:01:40.552> start?

00:01:41.981 --> 00:01:50.219
I<00:01:42.061> used<00:01:42.222> to<00:01:42.286> help<00:01:42.527> companies<00:01:42.880> expand<00:01:43.266> their<00:01:43.491> operations<00:01:44.053> all<00:01:44.165> over<00:01:44.374> the<00:01:44.470> globe<00:01:44.936> and<00:01:45.032> was<00:01:45.257> helping<00:01:45.658> them<00:01:45.755> figure<00:01:46.301> out<00:01:46.622> on<00:01:46.718> a<00:01:46.798> company-by-company<00:01:47.762> basis<00:01:48.163> how<00:01:48.404> to<00:01:48.677> do,<00:01:48.886> how<00:01:49.046> to<00:01:49.127> do<00:01:49.271> business<00:01:49.608> in<00:01:49.673> each<00:01:49.849> country.

00:01:50.796 --> 00:01:57.454
And<00:01:50.973> after<00:01:51.278> doing<00:01:51.534> that<00:01:51.695> for<00:01:51.935> 6<00:01:52.401> years,<00:01:52.802> I<00:01:52.818> just<00:01:53.139> thought,<00:01:53.941> my<00:01:54.021> God,<00:01:54.246> there<00:01:54.406> has<00:01:54.534> to<00:01:54.663> be<00:01:54.807> a<00:01:54.823> more<00:01:55.000> scalable<00:01:55.545> way<00:01:55.850> for<00:01:56.010> companies<00:01:56.299> to<00:01:56.427> do<00:01:56.572> business<00:01:56.925> around<00:01:57.149> the<00:01:57.229> globe.

00:01:58.112 --> 00:02:09.277
And<00:01:58.192> so<00:01:58.577> I<00:01:58.753> quit<00:01:59.138> my<00:01:59.235> job,<00:01:59.876> took<00:02:00.053> a<00:02:00.101> year<00:02:00.502> off<00:02:00.999> while<00:02:01.160> like<00:02:01.641> waiting<00:02:01.946> out<00:02:02.026> my<00:02:02.122> non-compete<00:02:02.620> agreement<00:02:03.085> and<00:02:03.245> figuring<00:02:03.630> out<00:02:03.791> the<00:02:03.887> legal<00:02:04.128> and<00:02:04.272> tax<00:02:04.625> implications<00:02:05.251> in<00:02:05.331> each<00:02:05.491> country<00:02:06.518> and<00:02:06.759> ultimately<00:02:07.721> figured<00:02:08.042> out<00:02:08.379> it<00:02:08.539> could<00:02:08.780> be<00:02:09.005> done.

00:02:09.759 --> 00:02:22.063
It's<00:02:09.903> just<00:02:10.144> that<00:02:10.288> the<00:02:10.384> legal<00:02:10.785> and<00:02:10.946> tax<00:02:11.347> implications<00:02:12.053> underneath<00:02:12.550> the<00:02:12.694> platform,<00:02:13.817> you<00:02:13.849> know,<00:02:14.074> we<00:02:14.154> had<00:02:14.266> to<00:02:14.379> figure<00:02:14.619> it<00:02:14.700> out<00:02:14.876> on<00:02:14.940> a<00:02:14.972> country-by-country<00:02:15.758> basis<00:02:16.240> because<00:02:16.641> prior<00:02:16.962> to<00:02:17.042> that<00:02:17.202> time,<00:02:17.764> most,<00:02:18.887> most<00:02:19.288> lawyers<00:02:19.689> and<00:02:19.769> tax<00:02:20.010> people<00:02:20.812> would<00:02:20.956> have<00:02:21.052> said<00:02:21.357> it<00:02:21.518> couldn't<00:02:21.774> be<00:02:21.806> done.

00:02:23.298 --> 00:02:29.475
Yeah,<00:02:23.443> it<00:02:23.539> sounds<00:02:23.780> super<00:02:24.100> complicated,<00:02:24.742> actually,<00:02:26.507> which<00:02:26.988> is<00:02:27.373> why<00:02:27.630> it's<00:02:27.790> so<00:02:28.111> great<00:02:28.432> as<00:02:28.528> a<00:02:28.592> business,<00:02:28.913> I'm<00:02:29.138> sure.

00:02:30.341 --> 00:02:31.320
How<00:02:30.373> many<00:02:30.598> countries<00:02:30.983> are<00:02:31.063> you<00:02:31.223> in?

00:02:32.282 --> 00:02:33.373
We<00:02:32.362> do<00:02:32.459> business<00:02:32.779> in<00:02:32.812> 180.

00:02:33.646 --> 00:02:35.218
It's<00:02:34.031> over<00:02:34.191> 180<00:02:34.833> countries.

00:02:35.314 --> 00:02:36.742
It's<00:02:35.731> 180.

00:02:36.870 --> 00:02:38.394
Yeah,<00:02:37.175> that<00:02:37.336> is<00:02:37.496> incredible.

00:02:38.458 --> 00:02:41.555
How<00:02:38.539> do<00:02:38.667> you—<00:02:38.940> how<00:02:39.501> did<00:02:39.726> you<00:02:39.902> get<00:02:40.624> in<00:02:40.785> that<00:02:40.945> many<00:02:41.186> countries?

00:02:41.811 --> 00:02:42.533
That's<00:02:41.988> phenomenal.

00:02:43.432 --> 00:02:45.790
One<00:02:43.672> by<00:02:43.913> one,<00:02:44.635> you<00:02:44.875> know,<00:02:45.100> one<00:02:45.277> by<00:02:45.517> one.

00:02:46.865 --> 00:02:50.731
We<00:02:46.945> have<00:02:47.105> an<00:02:47.137> amazing<00:02:47.667> legal<00:02:47.907> team<00:02:48.389> around<00:02:48.581> the<00:02:48.645> globe,<00:02:49.046> a<00:02:49.127> global<00:02:49.448> HR<00:02:49.993> ops<00:02:50.234> team.

00:02:50.940 --> 00:02:52.435
Tax<00:02:51.297> team,<00:02:51.606> finance<00:02:52.110> team.

00:02:52.533 --> 00:02:56.564
So<00:02:52.760> we're<00:02:53.232> around<00:02:53.573> 1,100<00:02:54.061> people<00:02:54.386> now<00:02:55.183> and<00:02:55.361> the<00:02:55.557> company<00:02:55.768> was<00:02:55.930> built<00:02:56.158> organically.

00:02:58.620 --> 00:03:06.735
But<00:02:58.732> beyond<00:02:59.199> that,<00:02:59.602> you<00:02:59.682> know,<00:02:59.924> I<00:02:59.940> mean,<00:03:00.278> my<00:03:00.568> vision<00:03:00.826> was<00:03:01.067> always<00:03:01.454> to<00:03:01.534> automate<00:03:02.098> everything<00:03:02.581> around<00:03:02.903> doing<00:03:03.144> global<00:03:03.402> business<00:03:03.805> and<00:03:03.901> just<00:03:04.127> make<00:03:04.352> it<00:03:04.449> really<00:03:04.835> easy<00:03:05.093> for<00:03:05.238> companies<00:03:05.528> to<00:03:05.721> hire<00:03:06.043> anyone<00:03:06.381> anywhere.

00:03:07.347 --> 00:03:12.147
And<00:03:07.412> it<00:03:07.460> took<00:03:07.750> 13<00:03:08.136> years<00:03:08.716> really<00:03:09.038> to<00:03:09.119> get<00:03:09.280> to<00:03:09.425> this<00:03:09.667> point<00:03:10.005> where<00:03:10.311> we're<00:03:10.408> like,<00:03:10.649> we<00:03:10.714> have<00:03:10.826> a<00:03:11.132> really<00:03:11.374> good<00:03:11.600> foundation.

00:03:12.244 --> 00:03:16.819
We're,<00:03:12.566> we're<00:03:12.663> the<00:03:12.824> head<00:03:12.969> of<00:03:13.001> the<00:03:13.130> class<00:03:13.549> for,<00:03:14.193> we're<00:03:14.370> known<00:03:14.580> for<00:03:14.757> compliance,<00:03:15.240> we're<00:03:15.337> known<00:03:15.643> for<00:03:15.788> really<00:03:15.981> supporting<00:03:16.432> our<00:03:16.529> customers.

00:03:17.538 --> 00:03:21.023
But<00:03:17.860> part<00:03:18.118> of<00:03:18.280> what<00:03:19.151> has<00:03:19.248> supported<00:03:19.716> us,<00:03:19.974> of<00:03:20.055> course,<00:03:20.313> is<00:03:20.361> software.

00:03:21.571 --> 00:03:25.847
And<00:03:21.733> we<00:03:21.975> couldn't<00:03:22.555> be<00:03:22.701> as<00:03:22.797> scalable<00:03:23.507> as<00:03:23.669> we<00:03:23.830> are<00:03:23.991> and<00:03:24.169> cover<00:03:24.411> so<00:03:24.572> many<00:03:24.734> countries<00:03:25.121> without<00:03:25.379> software.

00:03:25.928 --> 00:03:43.367
But<00:03:26.105> even<00:03:26.347> more<00:03:26.492> exciting<00:03:26.977> right<00:03:27.155> now<00:03:27.398> is<00:03:27.559> AI,<00:03:28.450> you<00:03:28.531> know,<00:03:28.855> and<00:03:28.952> I<00:03:29.340> tell<00:03:29.502> my<00:03:29.664> team<00:03:29.891> like,<00:03:30.214> oh,<00:03:30.619> you<00:03:30.716> know,<00:03:31.186> we<00:03:31.234> didn't<00:03:31.526> know<00:03:31.768> what<00:03:31.930> we<00:03:32.092> needed<00:03:32.578> at<00:03:32.659> the<00:03:32.740> time<00:03:33.209> when<00:03:33.371> we<00:03:33.404> set<00:03:33.630> out<00:03:33.792> to<00:03:33.873> do<00:03:34.035> this,<00:03:34.278> but<00:03:34.440> we<00:03:34.585> needed<00:03:34.925> AI<00:03:35.249> in<00:03:35.460> order<00:03:35.733> to<00:03:37.565> just<00:03:38.208> effectively<00:03:38.787> and<00:03:38.867> efficiently<00:03:39.654> manage<00:03:40.394> the<00:03:40.876> legal<00:03:41.117> compliance<00:03:41.599> across<00:03:41.840> such<00:03:42.387> a<00:03:42.564> broad<00:03:42.805> span<00:03:43.046> of<00:03:43.207> work.

00:03:43.448 --> 00:03:47.670
Like<00:03:43.608> it's<00:03:43.769> just<00:03:44.010> a,<00:03:44.446> It<00:03:44.526> takes<00:03:44.943> vast<00:03:45.264> computing<00:03:45.809> power<00:03:46.082> to<00:03:46.242> stay<00:03:46.467> on<00:03:46.547> top<00:03:46.788> of<00:03:46.948> all<00:03:47.092> of<00:03:47.269> that.

00:03:48.055 --> 00:04:03.119
And<00:03:48.376> we're<00:03:48.777> actually,<00:03:50.157> by<00:03:50.237> the<00:03:50.397> time<00:03:51.103> this<00:03:51.681> podcast<00:03:52.643> is<00:03:52.739> announced<00:03:53.365> and<00:03:53.590> published,<00:03:53.910> we'll<00:03:54.071> have<00:03:54.231> launched<00:03:54.472> our<00:03:54.729> AI<00:03:55.033> product<00:03:55.450> into<00:03:55.691> market,<00:03:56.493> which<00:03:56.878> is<00:03:57.055> like<00:03:57.279> the<00:03:57.311> next<00:03:57.760> level<00:03:58.081> of<00:03:58.162> helping<00:03:58.482> companies<00:04:00.103> do<00:04:00.247> business<00:04:00.568> anywhere<00:04:00.841> quickly<00:04:01.226> and<00:04:01.306> easily<00:04:01.627> from<00:04:01.803> an<00:04:01.947> HR<00:04:02.156> and<00:04:02.268> legal<00:04:02.573> perspective.

00:04:03.873 --> 00:04:09.551
How<00:04:04.049> is<00:04:04.193> it<00:04:04.338> changing<00:04:04.739> your<00:04:04.899> company,<00:04:05.316> AI,<00:04:06.022> in<00:04:06.183> terms<00:04:06.519> of<00:04:07.322> workflow,<00:04:08.990> customer?

00:04:09.632 --> 00:04:14.685
I<00:04:09.664> mean,<00:04:09.952> obviously,<00:04:10.931> for<00:04:11.091> a<00:04:11.172> company<00:04:11.493> like<00:04:11.653> yours,<00:04:11.958> I<00:04:12.054> imagine<00:04:12.519> it<00:04:12.615> could<00:04:13.017> make<00:04:13.257> a<00:04:13.273> significant<00:04:14.284> impact.

00:04:15.368 --> 00:04:22.230
And<00:04:15.773> kind<00:04:15.951> of<00:04:16.259> cut<00:04:16.501> back<00:04:16.825> on<00:04:16.922> a<00:04:17.165> lot<00:04:17.715> of,<00:04:19.350> you<00:04:19.431> know,<00:04:19.592> various<00:04:20.224> roadblocks<00:04:21.437> out<00:04:22.004> of<00:04:22.101> the<00:04:22.150> way.

00:04:23.153 --> 00:04:23.477
Totally.

00:04:23.720 --> 00:04:31.164
I<00:04:23.736> mean,<00:04:27.038> like,<00:04:27.443> I<00:04:27.605> think<00:04:27.767> the<00:04:27.929> reason<00:04:28.236> it<00:04:28.317> makes<00:04:28.560> a<00:04:28.576> difference<00:04:29.208> is<00:04:30.179> we<00:04:30.260> have<00:04:30.422> really<00:04:30.600> good<00:04:30.730> data.

00:04:31.245 --> 00:04:40.549
Like,<00:04:31.486> we<00:04:31.889> know—<00:04:32.146> so<00:04:32.516> you<00:04:32.613> could<00:04:32.774> just<00:04:32.999> look<00:04:33.160> at<00:04:33.241> the<00:04:33.337> laws<00:04:33.820> in<00:04:33.917> each<00:04:34.126> country<00:04:34.706> and<00:04:34.786> like<00:04:35.011> the<00:04:35.189> laws<00:04:35.575> will<00:04:35.671> prescribe<00:04:36.299> one<00:04:36.541> thing,<00:04:36.943> but<00:04:37.104> there's<00:04:37.297> an<00:04:37.523> HR<00:04:37.925> and<00:04:37.990> a<00:04:38.086> human<00:04:38.489> touch<00:04:39.036> element<00:04:39.438> on<00:04:39.535> the<00:04:39.615> ground<00:04:40.018> in<00:04:40.098> each<00:04:40.324> country.

00:04:41.010 --> 00:04:43.250
Which<00:04:41.210> is<00:04:41.510> how<00:04:41.650> are<00:04:41.930> things<00:04:42.090> actually<00:04:42.550> negotiated?

00:04:43.670 --> 00:04:47.140
Because<00:04:43.910> in<00:04:44.110> some<00:04:44.290> countries<00:04:44.610> it's<00:04:44.850> actually<00:04:45.170> not<00:04:45.430> even<00:04:45.670> legal<00:04:46.050> to<00:04:46.250> fire<00:04:46.490> somebody.

00:04:47.190 --> 00:04:49.910
Of<00:04:47.770> course,<00:04:48.050> people<00:04:48.290> get<00:04:48.570> fired,<00:04:48.930> but<00:04:49.210> how<00:04:49.350> do<00:04:49.530> you<00:04:49.590> do<00:04:49.710> it?

00:04:49.910 --> 00:04:54.470
How<00:04:50.010> do<00:04:50.170> you<00:04:50.310> terminate<00:04:50.650> a<00:04:50.830> relationship<00:04:51.450> that<00:04:51.750> isn't<00:04:52.070> going<00:04:52.510> to<00:04:52.750> last<00:04:53.030> an<00:04:53.410> entire<00:04:53.670> lifetime?

00:04:54.610 --> 00:05:04.450
And<00:04:55.090> it's<00:04:55.830> always<00:04:55.970> done<00:04:56.210> in<00:04:56.390> countries<00:04:56.610> where<00:04:56.810> there<00:04:56.950> are<00:04:57.069> laws<00:04:57.430> like<00:04:57.710> that,<00:04:58.010> which<00:04:58.210> are<00:04:58.770> to<00:04:59.010> protect<00:04:59.290> people,<00:04:59.870> but<00:05:00.250> then<00:05:00.490> you<00:05:00.550> have<00:05:00.670> to<00:05:00.830> deal<00:05:00.990> with<00:05:01.170> the<00:05:01.490> realities<00:05:01.990> of<00:05:02.610> people<00:05:02.870> being<00:05:03.110> people<00:05:03.430> and<00:05:03.570> business<00:05:03.830> being<00:05:04.030> business.

00:05:04.450 --> 00:05:06.450
It's<00:05:05.170> done<00:05:05.370> with<00:05:05.610> negotiation.

00:05:06.450 --> 00:05:10.990
And<00:05:06.610> so<00:05:06.950> there's<00:05:07.250> like<00:05:07.570> a<00:05:07.750> formula<00:05:08.150> that<00:05:08.410> a<00:05:08.670> lawyer,<00:05:08.910> an<00:05:09.070> HR<00:05:09.290> advisor<00:05:09.590> would<00:05:09.850> follow<00:05:10.090> in<00:05:10.250> that<00:05:10.450> country.

00:05:10.990 --> 00:05:11.130
There's<00:05:11.010> a<00:05:11.030> way<00:05:11.050> to<00:05:11.070> handle<00:05:11.090> the<00:05:11.110> person.

00:05:12.752 --> 00:05:32.366
And<00:05:12.832> because<00:05:13.153> we<00:05:13.297> have<00:05:13.554> HR<00:05:14.517> and<00:05:14.598> legal<00:05:14.902> people<00:05:15.159> on<00:05:15.256> the<00:05:15.464> ground<00:05:16.187> in<00:05:16.427> each<00:05:16.604> country<00:05:17.487> kind<00:05:17.631> of<00:05:17.744> navigate<00:05:18.289> those<00:05:18.450> situations<00:05:19.188> and<00:05:19.333> all<00:05:19.509> the<00:05:19.654> data<00:05:19.959> of<00:05:20.199> 13<00:05:20.520> years<00:05:20.761> of<00:05:20.793> doing<00:05:21.082> business<00:05:21.403> around<00:05:21.564> the<00:05:21.724> globe,<00:05:22.398> our<00:05:22.543> team<00:05:22.784> was<00:05:22.944> able<00:05:23.185> to<00:05:23.345> compile<00:05:23.971> all<00:05:24.148> of<00:05:24.373> that<00:05:24.710> into<00:05:25.031> a<00:05:25.737> really<00:05:25.994> smooth<00:05:26.395> product<00:05:27.198> that<00:05:27.439> ultimately<00:05:28.225> is<00:05:28.402> like<00:05:28.562> you<00:05:28.642> have<00:05:28.787> an<00:05:28.883> HR<00:05:29.349> team<00:05:29.830> on<00:05:29.926> this<00:05:30.007> side,<00:05:30.472> on<00:05:30.504> this<00:05:30.649> shoulder,<00:05:30.970> and<00:05:31.066> a<00:05:31.130> legal<00:05:31.371> team<00:05:31.612> on<00:05:31.692> this<00:05:31.933> shoulder.

00:05:32.735 --> 00:05:35.272
But<00:05:32.992> these<00:05:33.281> legal<00:05:33.538> teams<00:05:34.004> know<00:05:34.325> everything<00:05:34.646> about<00:05:34.806> every<00:05:34.983> country.

00:05:35.705 --> 00:05:40.568
And<00:05:35.849> then<00:05:36.251> we<00:05:36.347> put<00:05:36.572> that<00:05:37.856> power<00:05:38.353> and<00:05:38.498> human<00:05:38.755> knowledge<00:05:39.220> at<00:05:39.316> the<00:05:39.397> fingertips<00:05:39.894> of<00:05:39.942> our<00:05:39.975> customers.

00:05:41.307 --> 00:05:52.190
It<00:05:41.355> must<00:05:41.564> be<00:05:41.788> pretty<00:05:41.965> incredible<00:05:42.511> what<00:05:42.671> you<00:05:42.768> do,<00:05:42.928> because<00:05:43.233> really<00:05:43.490> what,<00:05:44.036> as<00:05:44.196> I<00:05:44.293> think<00:05:44.453> about<00:05:44.630> it<00:05:44.678> and<00:05:44.774> kind<00:05:44.903> of<00:05:44.951> like<00:05:45.111> step<00:05:45.416> back,<00:05:45.657> 180<00:05:46.219> countries,<00:05:47.680> it<00:05:47.744> sounds<00:05:48.145> to<00:05:48.209> me<00:05:48.370> like<00:05:48.530> you're<00:05:48.627> democratizing<00:05:49.815> opportunity<00:05:50.697> to<00:05:50.810> the<00:05:50.938> entire<00:05:51.436> world,<00:05:52.062> right?

00:05:52.238 --> 00:05:58.306
Like<00:05:52.415> in<00:05:52.479> America,<00:05:53.041> we<00:05:53.121> kind<00:05:53.266> of<00:05:53.442> take<00:05:53.603> for<00:05:53.747> granted<00:05:54.309> how<00:05:54.726> much<00:05:55.754> access<00:05:56.797> to<00:05:56.958> opportunity<00:05:57.776> we<00:05:57.921> have.

00:05:59.045 --> 00:06:01.212
And<00:05:59.622> you're<00:05:59.863> really<00:06:00.088> kind<00:06:00.248> of<00:06:00.281> democratizing<00:06:01.051> that.

00:06:01.452 --> 00:06:05.883
Like<00:06:01.773> how<00:06:01.870> much<00:06:02.207> does<00:06:02.496> opportunity<00:06:03.379> play<00:06:03.635> into<00:06:04.422> kind<00:06:04.920> of<00:06:05.160> what<00:06:05.481> you<00:06:05.786> do?

00:06:05.963 --> 00:06:08.339
Because<00:06:06.429> obviously<00:06:06.750> your<00:06:06.910> clients<00:06:07.263> are<00:06:07.327> the<00:06:07.568> people<00:06:07.873> hiring.

00:06:08.916 --> 00:06:09.494
Yeah,<00:06:09.237> right.

00:06:10.119 --> 00:06:10.456
Yeah.

00:06:10.841 --> 00:06:15.317
But<00:06:11.563> you're<00:06:11.659> probably<00:06:11.964> making<00:06:12.445> as<00:06:12.622> much,<00:06:12.846> if<00:06:12.943> not<00:06:13.103> a<00:06:13.264> bigger<00:06:13.520> impact<00:06:13.985> on<00:06:14.082> the<00:06:14.226> people<00:06:14.531> who<00:06:14.627> are<00:06:14.707> being<00:06:15.012> hired.

00:06:16.215 --> 00:06:16.680
It's<00:06:16.376> huge.

00:06:16.873 --> 00:06:18.333
I<00:06:16.889> mean,<00:06:17.097> it's,<00:06:17.579> it's<00:06:17.755> huge.

00:06:18.541 --> 00:06:23.049
And<00:06:19.664> look,<00:06:19.840> at<00:06:19.921> the<00:06:20.065> end<00:06:20.225> of<00:06:20.322> the<00:06:20.402> day,<00:06:20.707> we're<00:06:20.883> not<00:06:21.027> telling<00:06:21.220> our<00:06:21.284> customers<00:06:21.910> who<00:06:22.006> to<00:06:22.166> hire<00:06:22.567> or<00:06:22.792> why.

00:06:23.193 --> 00:06:29.112
We're<00:06:23.353> just<00:06:23.594> making<00:06:23.915> it<00:06:24.011> easier<00:06:24.508> for<00:06:24.797> them<00:06:25.134> to<00:06:25.278> access<00:06:25.679> the<00:06:25.760> best<00:06:25.936> talent<00:06:26.337> for<00:06:26.481> the<00:06:26.578> job,<00:06:26.899> no<00:06:26.995> matter<00:06:27.460> where<00:06:27.685> the<00:06:27.765> talent<00:06:28.021> for<00:06:28.262> that<00:06:28.487> job<00:06:28.679> sits.

00:06:29.224 --> 00:06:38.429
But<00:06:29.465> the,<00:06:30.251> the<00:06:30.572> equalization<00:06:31.149> of<00:06:31.294> opportunity<00:06:31.951> for<00:06:32.064> people<00:06:32.369> around<00:06:32.657> the<00:06:32.818> globe<00:06:33.299> is<00:06:33.475> something—<00:06:33.860> the<00:06:33.957> democratization<00:06:34.839> of<00:06:34.983> opportunity<00:06:36.506> is<00:06:36.667> hugely<00:06:37.163> inspiring<00:06:37.788> for<00:06:37.916> our<00:06:38.125> team.

00:06:38.589 --> 00:06:40.576
You<00:06:38.621> know,<00:06:38.830> we<00:06:38.942> have<00:06:39.230> team<00:06:39.358> members<00:06:39.711> all<00:06:39.823> around<00:06:40.127> the<00:06:40.271> world.

00:06:41.073 --> 00:06:44.501
Many<00:06:41.249> of<00:06:41.393> them<00:06:41.585> are<00:06:42.130> today's<00:06:42.450> Silicon<00:06:42.931> Valley,<00:06:43.636> you<00:06:43.668> know,<00:06:43.876> rock<00:06:44.069> stars.

00:06:44.693 --> 00:06:45.190
They're<00:06:44.838> amazing.

00:06:45.254 --> 00:06:46.985
They've<00:06:45.478> built<00:06:46.039> fabulous<00:06:46.520> careers.

00:06:47.561 --> 00:06:57.927
And<00:06:48.058> many<00:06:48.218> of<00:06:48.298> them<00:06:48.475> have<00:06:48.683> worked<00:06:49.003> in<00:06:49.324> the<00:06:49.420> world's<00:06:49.724> hottest<00:06:50.061> companies,<00:06:50.942> but<00:06:51.182> most<00:06:51.423> of<00:06:51.503> them<00:06:51.727> had<00:06:51.839> to<00:06:51.967> leave<00:06:52.224> their<00:06:52.464> home<00:06:52.704> country<00:06:53.569> and<00:06:53.650> come<00:06:53.906> to<00:06:54.082> Silicon<00:06:54.547> Valley<00:06:55.172> to<00:06:55.268> find<00:06:55.524> a<00:06:55.588> job<00:06:56.309> and<00:06:56.710> become<00:06:57.351> who<00:06:57.447> they<00:06:57.655> are.

00:06:58.456 --> 00:07:08.295
And<00:06:58.552> now<00:06:58.712> in<00:06:58.808> today's<00:06:59.193> generation,<00:07:00.298> I<00:07:00.315> mean,<00:07:00.779> it's<00:07:01.116> been<00:07:01.276> incredible<00:07:01.917> even<00:07:02.221> over<00:07:02.381> the,<00:07:02.862> you<00:07:02.894> know,<00:07:03.182> 20-something<00:07:03.823> years<00:07:04.064> that<00:07:04.160> I've<00:07:04.464> had<00:07:04.640> my<00:07:04.865> career,<00:07:05.506> to<00:07:05.618> see<00:07:05.842> how<00:07:06.002> much<00:07:06.243> the<00:07:06.403> landscape<00:07:06.964> has<00:07:07.365> changed<00:07:07.766> and<00:07:07.846> shifted.

00:07:08.407 --> 00:07:13.152
I<00:07:08.423> mean,<00:07:08.632> it<00:07:08.712> used<00:07:08.872> to<00:07:08.968> be<00:07:09.129> companies<00:07:09.433> wanna<00:07:09.529> hire<00:07:09.914> people<00:07:10.090> in<00:07:10.171> the<00:07:10.251> Bay<00:07:10.395> Area,<00:07:10.956> London,<00:07:11.373> New<00:07:11.533> York,<00:07:11.934> and<00:07:11.998> that,<00:07:12.255> that's<00:07:12.511> kind<00:07:12.719> of<00:07:12.816> it,<00:07:12.976> you<00:07:13.056> know?

Now<00:07:18.410> companies<00:07:18.811> are<00:07:18.891> hiring<00:07:19.228> the<00:07:19.308> best<00:07:19.468> talent<00:07:19.789> for<00:07:19.933> the<00:07:20.030> job<00:07:20.430> anywhere<00:07:20.815> it<00:07:21.056> is.

00:07:22.017 --> 00:07:31.027
And<00:07:22.418> besides<00:07:22.979> just<00:07:23.220> the<00:07:23.380> access<00:07:23.733> to<00:07:23.861> opportunity,<00:07:24.679> like<00:07:24.823> if<00:07:24.919> you're<00:07:25.143> really<00:07:25.336> smart<00:07:25.801> and<00:07:25.945> you<00:07:26.025> grew<00:07:26.121> up<00:07:26.266> in<00:07:26.346> India,<00:07:27.083> you<00:07:27.227> can<00:07:27.324> stay<00:07:27.644> in<00:07:27.724> your<00:07:27.949> home,<00:07:28.446> you<00:07:28.542> know,<00:07:28.606> stay<00:07:28.831> home<00:07:29.392> and<00:07:29.472> get<00:07:29.632> the<00:07:29.664> same<00:07:30.033> access<00:07:30.305> to<00:07:30.450> a<00:07:30.530> job.

00:07:32.773 --> 00:07:49.325
But<00:07:33.014> beyond<00:07:33.494> that,<00:07:33.815> like,<00:07:33.975> if<00:07:34.039> you<00:07:34.135> think<00:07:34.296> of<00:07:34.440> the<00:07:34.536> ripple<00:07:34.856> effect<00:07:35.481> on<00:07:35.738> those<00:07:36.042> communities<00:07:36.619> as<00:07:36.843> well,<00:07:37.420> you<00:07:37.516> know,<00:07:37.676> it's<00:07:37.901> not—<00:07:38.221> it's<00:07:39.807> like<00:07:39.920> somebody<00:07:40.304> being<00:07:40.544> able<00:07:40.657> to<00:07:40.689> have<00:07:40.865> a<00:07:41.009> great<00:07:41.490> job<00:07:41.970> who<00:07:42.211> grew<00:07:42.291> up<00:07:42.451> in<00:07:42.531> a<00:07:42.611> village<00:07:43.268> in<00:07:43.348> Brazil,<00:07:44.069> you<00:07:44.149> know,<00:07:44.694> yet<00:07:44.870> stays<00:07:45.207> in<00:07:45.271> Brazil<00:07:45.672> and<00:07:45.752> they<00:07:46.152> spend<00:07:46.537> in<00:07:46.633> Brazil<00:07:47.034> and<00:07:47.178> they<00:07:47.274> bring<00:07:47.514> their<00:07:47.755> colleagues<00:07:48.171> and<00:07:48.315> friends<00:07:48.572> along<00:07:48.876> with<00:07:49.100> them.

00:07:49.757 --> 00:07:50.767
It's<00:07:50.222> incredible.

00:07:51.039 --> 00:07:55.638
So<00:07:52.001> it<00:07:52.065> really<00:07:52.385> is<00:07:52.481> the<00:07:52.625> globalization<00:07:53.282> of<00:07:53.427> opportunity<00:07:55.109> and<00:07:55.269> access.

00:07:56.391 --> 00:07:59.563
Yeah,<00:07:56.711> that—<00:07:57.128> the<00:07:57.288> globalization<00:07:58.025> of<00:07:58.089> opportunity<00:07:58.393> is<00:07:58.586> a<00:07:58.714> great<00:07:58.970> way<00:07:59.002> to<00:07:59.195> put<00:07:59.371> that.

00:07:59.997 --> 00:08:01.288
And<00:08:00.078> you<00:08:00.110> wrote<00:08:00.271> a<00:08:00.336> book<00:08:00.578> about<00:08:00.820> this,<00:08:01.062> right?

00:08:02.417 --> 00:08:02.966
I<00:08:02.514> did.

00:08:03.078 --> 00:08:03.450
I<00:08:03.240> did.

00:08:03.708 --> 00:08:09.937
It's<00:08:04.030> called<00:08:04.272> Global<00:08:04.530> Talent<00:08:04.998> Unleashed,<00:08:05.740> and<00:08:05.902> it's<00:08:06.063> an<00:08:06.128> executive's<00:08:06.708> guide<00:08:07.418> to<00:08:07.515> conquering<00:08:07.935> the<00:08:07.999> world<00:08:08.322> and<00:08:08.402> doing<00:08:08.644> business<00:08:09.274> all<00:08:09.370> over<00:08:09.500> the<00:08:09.597> globe.

00:08:10.327 --> 00:08:36.046
That<00:08:10.992> was<00:08:11.462> a<00:08:11.543> little<00:08:11.771> bit<00:08:11.965> more<00:08:12.225> just<00:08:12.452> the<00:08:12.549> story<00:08:13.182> and<00:08:13.344> some<00:08:13.506> of<00:08:13.652> the<00:08:13.977> knowledge<00:08:14.723> that<00:08:14.869> I've<00:08:15.047> gained<00:08:17.237> from<00:08:17.400> doing<00:08:17.627> business<00:08:17.886> in<00:08:17.984> so<00:08:18.146> many<00:08:18.260> countries,<00:08:18.761> because<00:08:20.217> ultimately<00:08:20.638> what<00:08:20.784> I<00:08:20.881> found<00:08:21.447> is<00:08:21.609> that<00:08:21.997> over<00:08:22.321> the<00:08:22.353> many<00:08:22.563> years<00:08:22.741> of<00:08:22.806> helping<00:08:23.065> customers<00:08:23.470> do<00:08:23.615> business<00:08:23.939> all<00:08:24.036> over<00:08:24.133> the<00:08:24.279> globe,<00:08:25.007> there's<00:08:25.201> so<00:08:25.330> many<00:08:25.573> little<00:08:25.751> human<00:08:26.220> things<00:08:26.528> that<00:08:26.706> come<00:08:26.932> up<00:08:27.512> that,<00:08:28.139> you<00:08:28.219> know,<00:08:28.380> you<00:08:28.476> can't<00:08:28.798> really<00:08:29.199> write<00:08:29.505> it<00:08:29.762> into<00:08:30.469> a<00:08:30.565> how-to<00:08:31.128> manual,<00:08:32.092> but<00:08:32.333> there's<00:08:32.639> a<00:08:32.735> lot<00:08:33.040> of<00:08:33.201> just<00:08:33.539> collective<00:08:34.005> wisdom<00:08:34.326> of<00:08:34.439> doing<00:08:34.744> business<00:08:35.065> with<00:08:35.226> people<00:08:35.387> in<00:08:35.483> different<00:08:35.708> countries.

00:08:36.094 --> 00:08:41.849
How<00:08:36.206> people<00:08:36.512> communicate<00:08:37.721> is<00:08:37.882> normally<00:08:38.205> one<00:08:38.366> of<00:08:38.447> the<00:08:38.527> key<00:08:38.769> things<00:08:39.817> to<00:08:39.979> know<00:08:40.301> besides<00:08:40.704> the<00:08:40.849> legal<00:08:41.107> and<00:08:41.188> HR<00:08:41.511> stuff.

00:08:42.010 --> 00:08:45.979
So<00:08:42.204> it's<00:08:42.494> an<00:08:42.720> endlessly<00:08:43.526> fascinating<00:08:45.624> career.

00:08:46.253 --> 00:08:53.370
Of<00:08:46.334> course<00:08:46.527> I'm<00:08:46.673> biased,<00:08:47.318> but<00:08:47.480> like,<00:08:47.786> I<00:08:48.270> really<00:08:48.529> have<00:08:48.674> enjoyed<00:08:49.158> my<00:08:49.336> work<00:08:49.578> working<00:08:49.884> with<00:08:50.062> everyone<00:08:50.385> everywhere<00:08:51.014> and<00:08:51.353> helping<00:08:51.676> them,<00:08:52.321> you<00:08:52.402> know,<00:08:52.483> get<00:08:52.709> access<00:08:52.983> to<00:08:53.112> opportunity.

00:08:54.326 --> 00:09:03.739
Yeah,<00:08:54.743> you've<00:08:55.064> been<00:08:55.208> able<00:08:55.465> to,<00:08:56.251> I<00:08:56.347> imagine,<00:08:56.892> travel<00:08:57.389> a<00:08:57.453> lot<00:08:57.534> of<00:08:57.614> countries,<00:08:58.255> talk<00:08:58.512> a<00:08:58.576> lot<00:08:58.672> of<00:08:58.752> places,<00:08:59.538> see<00:08:59.682> a<00:08:59.714> lot<00:08:59.939> of<00:09:00.019> cultures,<00:09:01.462> and<00:09:01.863> you<00:09:01.959> spoke<00:09:02.521> at<00:09:02.617> the<00:09:02.761> World<00:09:03.002> Economic<00:09:03.547> Forum.

00:09:03.820 --> 00:09:04.429
Is<00:09:03.948> that<00:09:04.124> correct?

00:09:04.605 --> 00:09:07.107
Like,<00:09:04.894> one<00:09:05.551> of<00:09:05.888> the<00:09:06.129> unicorn<00:09:06.690> panels?

00:09:07.171 --> 00:09:08.550
What<00:09:07.812> was<00:09:08.133> that<00:09:08.374> like?

00:09:08.678 --> 00:09:15.750
Because<00:09:08.935> by<00:09:09.079> the<00:09:09.159> way,<00:09:09.801> World<00:09:10.041> Economic<00:09:10.523> Forum<00:09:10.763> over<00:09:10.843> the<00:09:10.939> past<00:09:11.180> 2<00:09:11.340> years<00:09:11.581> has<00:09:11.741> been<00:09:12.142> painted<00:09:12.399> as<00:09:12.768> the<00:09:12.864> most<00:09:13.184> evil,<00:09:13.730> you<00:09:14.066> know,<00:09:14.307> they're<00:09:14.644> controlling<00:09:15.125> our<00:09:15.189> whole<00:09:15.494> world.

00:09:16.311 --> 00:09:20.016
But<00:09:16.536> of<00:09:16.632> course,<00:09:16.953> that<00:09:17.514> wouldn't<00:09:19.759> be<00:09:19.903> true.

00:09:21.187 --> 00:09:21.989
Yeah,<00:09:21.347> it's<00:09:21.780> not.

00:09:22.165 --> 00:09:28.328
I<00:09:22.182> mean,<00:09:22.470> I,<00:09:22.872> yeah,<00:09:23.112> I<00:09:23.369> mean,<00:09:23.530> I<00:09:23.674> think<00:09:23.915> the<00:09:24.091> Schwab<00:09:24.493> Foundation,<00:09:25.760> you<00:09:25.792> know,<00:09:26.242> it,<00:09:26.579> it<00:09:26.659> does<00:09:26.964> a<00:09:26.980> lot<00:09:27.141> of<00:09:27.381> great<00:09:27.766> work<00:09:27.959> in<00:09:28.023> the<00:09:28.168> world.

00:09:28.408 --> 00:09:29.660
There's<00:09:28.585> incredible<00:09:29.307> people.

00:09:29.773 --> 00:09:32.308
They<00:09:30.190> garner<00:09:30.591> brilliant<00:09:30.992> people<00:09:31.329> from<00:09:31.538> all<00:09:31.714> over<00:09:31.875> the<00:09:32.019> world.

00:09:32.822 --> 00:09:47.009
And<00:09:32.902> I<00:09:32.918> guess<00:09:33.159> there's<00:09:33.400> two<00:09:33.560> sides<00:09:33.833> to<00:09:33.945> every<00:09:34.202> coin,<00:09:34.748> you<00:09:34.828> know,<00:09:35.085> where<00:09:35.325> there's<00:09:36.192> brilliant<00:09:36.673> intellect<00:09:37.556> and,<00:09:38.038> and<00:09:38.359> the<00:09:38.391> future<00:09:38.856> of,<00:09:39.321> of<00:09:39.562> the<00:09:39.658> world<00:09:40.044> is<00:09:40.220> being<00:09:40.461> kind<00:09:40.702> of<00:09:41.344> incubated,<00:09:42.050> you<00:09:42.082> know,<00:09:42.210> I<00:09:42.226> mean,<00:09:42.371> these<00:09:42.547> are<00:09:42.692> really<00:09:42.948> people,<00:09:43.414> you<00:09:43.510> know,<00:09:43.735> scientists,<00:09:44.473> leaders,<00:09:44.858> technologists<00:09:45.516> at<00:09:45.596> the<00:09:45.757> cutting<00:09:46.142> edge<00:09:46.335> of<00:09:46.399> innovation.

00:09:47.362 --> 00:09:50.440
There's<00:09:47.586> also,<00:09:48.724> you<00:09:48.821> know,<00:09:49.109> a<00:09:49.125> lot<00:09:49.269> of<00:09:49.366> money<00:09:49.670> that<00:09:49.766> goes<00:09:50.023> into<00:09:50.247> that.

00:09:50.632 --> 00:09:56.580
And<00:09:50.712> it<00:09:50.953> can<00:09:51.113> be<00:09:51.209> seen<00:09:51.530> as<00:09:51.690> like<00:09:52.155> a<00:09:52.492> cabal<00:09:53.197> of<00:09:53.293> people<00:09:53.774> cooking<00:09:54.079> up<00:09:54.111> the<00:09:54.255> next,<00:09:55.217> you<00:09:55.297> know,<00:09:55.441> what's<00:09:55.618> going<00:09:55.922> on<00:09:56.019> in<00:09:56.099> the<00:09:56.243> world.

00:09:56.804 --> 00:09:59.754
Yeah,<00:09:58.648> I<00:09:58.728> found<00:09:58.904> it<00:09:58.968> really<00:09:59.209> fascinating.

00:09:59.882 --> 00:10:01.421
I<00:09:59.930> learned<00:10:00.171> a<00:10:00.187> lot<00:10:00.427> about<00:10:00.652> what<00:10:00.812> was<00:10:00.972> going<00:10:01.229> on.

00:10:01.774 --> 00:10:07.978
And<00:10:02.672> yeah,<00:10:02.992> it's<00:10:03.217> fun<00:10:03.329> to<00:10:03.457> be<00:10:03.553> at<00:10:03.633> the<00:10:03.714> forefront<00:10:04.419> of<00:10:04.515> technology<00:10:05.156> in<00:10:05.237> the<00:10:05.317> future<00:10:05.637> where<00:10:06.182> we<00:10:06.583> are<00:10:06.760> with<00:10:06.984> technology<00:10:07.561> right<00:10:07.802> now.

00:10:08.379 --> 00:10:12.707
I'm<00:10:08.603> not<00:10:08.699> the<00:10:08.779> first<00:10:09.004> person<00:10:09.309> to<00:10:09.405> say,<00:10:09.805> you<00:10:09.886> know,<00:10:10.046> that<00:10:10.206> we<00:10:10.351> are<00:10:10.463> taking<00:10:10.831> human<00:10:11.088> evolution<00:10:11.649> into<00:10:11.825> our<00:10:11.970> own<00:10:12.290> hands.

00:10:13.076 --> 00:10:20.473
It's<00:10:13.172> incredibly<00:10:13.959> exciting<00:10:14.456> to<00:10:14.536> be<00:10:14.681> at<00:10:14.761> the<00:10:14.841> forefront<00:10:15.483> of<00:10:15.660> augmented<00:10:16.141> intelligence,<00:10:16.943> artificial<00:10:17.409> intelligence,<00:10:18.692> and<00:10:18.789> being<00:10:19.174> human<00:10:19.816> at<00:10:19.912> this<00:10:20.136> time.

00:10:21.099 --> 00:10:25.496
And<00:10:22.383> yeah,<00:10:22.784> Davos<00:10:23.137> is<00:10:23.282> really<00:10:23.827> the<00:10:23.923> epicenter<00:10:24.405> of<00:10:24.630> that<00:10:24.886> in<00:10:25.031> many<00:10:25.271> ways.

00:10:26.491 --> 00:10:27.101
What<00:10:26.587> do<00:10:26.716> you<00:10:26.812> think?

00:10:27.149 --> 00:10:29.604
And<00:10:27.277> I<00:10:27.534> know<00:10:27.775> that<00:10:27.919> this<00:10:28.176> is<00:10:28.256> like<00:10:28.416> the<00:10:28.497> question<00:10:28.818> everybody's<00:10:29.283> asking.

00:10:29.700 --> 00:10:32.476
There's<00:10:29.861> not<00:10:30.085> like<00:10:30.262> an<00:10:30.342> actual<00:10:31.048> answer<00:10:31.321> because<00:10:31.610> nobody<00:10:31.883> knows.

00:10:33.214 --> 00:10:40.179
But<00:10:33.551> given<00:10:34.017> that,<00:10:35.477> what<00:10:35.589> do<00:10:35.702> you<00:10:35.878> think<00:10:36.600> the<00:10:36.680> future<00:10:37.066> of<00:10:37.242> AI<00:10:38.125> is<00:10:38.285> going—<00:10:38.670> how<00:10:38.847> is<00:10:38.927> that<00:10:39.087> going<00:10:39.184> to<00:10:39.232> affect<00:10:39.649> humanity?

00:10:40.772 --> 00:10:44.121
No,<00:10:41.493> it's,<00:10:42.358> it's,<00:10:42.679> uh,<00:10:43.079> it's<00:10:43.256> gonna<00:10:43.416> be<00:10:43.560> awesome.

00:10:44.217 --> 00:10:45.611
It's<00:10:44.377> gonna<00:10:44.537> be<00:10:44.698> a<00:10:44.762> wild<00:10:45.018> ride<00:10:45.242> to<00:10:45.275> get<00:10:45.499> there.

00:10:46.444 --> 00:10:53.719
Um,<00:10:48.207> but<00:10:48.688> yeah,<00:10:48.848> there's<00:10:49.040> a<00:10:49.104> lot,<00:10:49.344> there's<00:10:49.521> a<00:10:49.569> lot<00:10:49.729> of<00:10:49.761> complications<00:10:50.530> there,<00:10:50.851> but<00:10:51.091> ultimately<00:10:51.508> I<00:10:51.668> think<00:10:51.908> we<00:10:51.988> are,<00:10:52.293> we<00:10:52.389> are<00:10:52.549> transforming<00:10:53.254> humanity.

00:10:54.232 --> 00:11:07.339
10<00:10:54.456> years<00:10:54.648> from<00:10:54.809> now,<00:10:55.097> when<00:10:55.289> we<00:10:55.417> are,<00:10:55.674> when<00:10:55.834> we've<00:10:56.074> put<00:10:56.315> brain<00:10:56.619> chips<00:10:56.956> into<00:10:57.100> our<00:10:57.340> kids'<00:10:57.581> heads<00:10:57.917> and<00:10:57.981> they<00:10:58.125> have<00:10:58.238> a<00:10:58.318> million<00:10:58.638> times<00:10:58.943> the<00:10:58.975> computing<00:10:59.584> power<00:11:00.545> of,<00:11:00.865> of<00:11:01.106> what,<00:11:01.426> what<00:11:01.586> we<00:11:01.683> today<00:11:01.923> consider<00:11:02.804> what<00:11:02.964> we<00:11:03.109> are<00:11:03.269> today,<00:11:04.150> we'll<00:11:04.310> be<00:11:04.487> looking<00:11:04.743> at<00:11:04.871> the<00:11:04.967> current<00:11:05.288> versions<00:11:05.672> of<00:11:05.705> ourselves<00:11:06.169> as<00:11:06.329> if<00:11:06.474> we're<00:11:06.714> Neanderthals.

00:11:07.996 --> 00:11:13.350
And<00:11:08.236> that's,<00:11:09.839> that's<00:11:10.016> scary,<00:11:10.561> you<00:11:10.657> know,<00:11:10.833> it's<00:11:10.977> like,<00:11:11.282> and<00:11:11.603> yet<00:11:12.083> who<00:11:12.260> programs<00:11:12.805> the<00:11:12.885> brain<00:11:13.061> chips?

00:11:14.488 --> 00:11:27.439
But<00:11:14.600> I<00:11:14.808> think<00:11:15.001> for<00:11:15.289> all<00:11:15.466> of<00:11:15.610> us<00:11:15.722> to<00:11:15.930> have<00:11:16.491> access<00:11:16.988> to<00:11:18.030> so<00:11:18.351> much<00:11:18.591> collective<00:11:19.072> wisdom,<00:11:19.489> so<00:11:19.649> much<00:11:19.938> collective<00:11:20.290> intelligence,<00:11:21.236> it's,<00:11:21.557> it's,<00:11:22.582> it<00:11:22.679> is<00:11:23.464> inspiring,<00:11:24.666> it's<00:11:25.083> transformative,<00:11:26.526> it's<00:11:26.670> unpredictable.

00:11:28.209 --> 00:11:29.218
And<00:11:28.305> I'm<00:11:28.385> excited<00:11:28.834> about<00:11:29.090> it.

00:11:29.395 --> 00:11:33.851
You<00:11:29.427> know,<00:11:29.715> it's,<00:11:30.453> it's<00:11:30.613> a<00:11:30.677> wild<00:11:30.998> ride<00:11:31.398> that<00:11:31.719> all<00:11:31.799> of<00:11:31.895> us<00:11:32.040> have<00:11:32.120> signed<00:11:32.440> up<00:11:32.553> for<00:11:33.242> in<00:11:33.322> one<00:11:33.418> way<00:11:33.562> or<00:11:33.642> another.

00:11:33.899 --> 00:11:35.021
We're<00:11:34.220> going<00:11:34.460> on<00:11:34.540> the<00:11:34.620> ride.

00:11:35.566 --> 00:11:38.756
And<00:11:36.047> it's<00:11:37.666> going<00:11:37.762> to<00:11:37.826> be<00:11:37.971> a<00:11:38.051> wild<00:11:38.243> time<00:11:38.484> ahead.

00:11:39.654 --> 00:11:42.508
Yeah,<00:11:39.830> kind<00:11:39.991> of<00:11:40.135> humanity<00:11:40.616> doesn't<00:11:40.889> have<00:11:40.969> a<00:11:41.033> choice<00:11:41.578> whether<00:11:41.738> you<00:11:41.770> sign<00:11:42.091> up<00:11:42.251> or<00:11:42.315> not.

00:11:42.620 --> 00:11:45.313
Here<00:11:42.796> we<00:11:42.941> go<00:11:43.277> is<00:11:43.438> kind<00:11:43.678> of<00:11:43.903> what's<00:11:44.143> happening<00:11:44.544> with<00:11:44.720> it,<00:11:44.800> with<00:11:45.105> AI.

00:11:46.387 --> 00:11:49.482
Although,<00:11:46.868> you<00:11:46.900> know,<00:11:47.205> the<00:11:47.365> chips<00:11:47.750> thing<00:11:47.926> that<00:11:48.472> you<00:11:48.568> would<00:11:48.712> have<00:11:48.888> to<00:11:48.969> sign<00:11:49.145> up<00:11:49.289> for<00:11:49.369> that.

00:11:49.914 --> 00:11:52.880
I<00:11:49.930> wonder<00:11:50.251> like<00:11:51.197> what<00:11:51.293> does<00:11:51.453> a<00:11:51.534> typical<00:11:51.934> day<00:11:52.159> look<00:11:52.335> like<00:11:52.512> for<00:11:52.656> you?

00:11:54.323 --> 00:11:58.908
Oh<00:11:54.740> yeah,<00:11:56.968> a<00:11:56.984> typical<00:11:57.385> day<00:11:57.610> for<00:11:57.770> me,<00:11:58.026> like<00:11:58.251> a<00:11:58.411> weekday.

00:11:59.469 --> 00:12:00.736
I<00:11:59.646> mean,<00:11:59.854> I'm<00:11:59.934> an<00:12:00.030> early<00:12:00.271> riser.

00:12:00.816 --> 00:12:02.916
I<00:12:00.832> definitely<00:12:01.233> believe<00:12:01.537> in<00:12:01.570> the<00:12:01.714> early<00:12:01.954> bird<00:12:02.179> gets<00:12:02.419> the<00:12:02.580> worm.

00:12:03.093 --> 00:12:05.337
So<00:12:03.461> I<00:12:03.557> wake<00:12:03.798> up<00:12:04.022> at<00:12:04.263> around<00:12:04.503> 5<00:12:04.744> a.m.

00:12:05.947 --> 00:12:07.392
I<00:12:06.364> meditate<00:12:07.071> every<00:12:07.247> day.

00:12:07.552 --> 00:12:17.668
I<00:12:07.649> feel<00:12:07.809> like<00:12:08.050> that's<00:12:08.291> really<00:12:08.532> important<00:12:09.094> to<00:12:09.415> just<00:12:09.656> get<00:12:09.816> my<00:12:10.218> head<00:12:10.443> and<00:12:10.555> heart<00:12:10.940> in<00:12:11.021> the<00:12:11.101> right<00:12:11.342> space,<00:12:11.904> get<00:12:12.064> a<00:12:12.080> lot<00:12:12.209> of<00:12:12.305> clarity<00:12:12.771> from<00:12:12.963> that,<00:12:13.670> spend<00:12:13.975> a<00:12:13.991> little<00:12:14.152> bit<00:12:14.248> of<00:12:14.312> time<00:12:14.553> with<00:12:14.714> my<00:12:14.954> family<00:12:15.436> if<00:12:15.597> possible<00:12:16.062> before,<00:12:16.721> before<00:12:16.978> getting<00:12:17.218> to<00:12:17.363> work.

00:12:18.310 --> 00:12:21.618
And<00:12:18.551> because<00:12:18.744> of<00:12:18.808> time<00:12:19.129> zones,<00:12:19.434> I'm<00:12:19.547> definitely<00:12:20.237> on<00:12:20.333> the<00:12:20.414> early<00:12:20.671> side<00:12:20.960> of<00:12:21.056> working<00:12:21.457> too.

00:12:22.196 --> 00:12:27.430
So<00:12:22.276> I'm<00:12:22.421> usually<00:12:22.967> at<00:12:22.999> my<00:12:23.143> desk<00:12:23.384> by<00:12:23.481> 7<00:12:24.187> or<00:12:24.348> 8<00:12:25.295> and<00:12:25.391> then<00:12:25.696> work<00:12:26.274> just<00:12:26.820> like<00:12:26.997> anybody<00:12:27.318> else.

00:12:27.784 --> 00:12:30.080
Yeah,<00:12:28.185> try<00:12:28.362> to,<00:12:28.522> and<00:12:28.603> try<00:12:28.795> to<00:12:28.924> focus<00:12:29.245> on<00:12:29.389> what's<00:12:29.566> important.

00:12:31.724 --> 00:12:38.489
Knock<00:12:31.966> out<00:12:32.111> what's<00:12:32.288> urgent,<00:12:32.771> deal<00:12:32.900> with<00:12:32.997> what's<00:12:33.174> important,<00:12:33.738> rather<00:12:34.044> than<00:12:35.187> getting<00:12:35.445> sidetracked<00:12:35.992> by<00:12:36.073> all<00:12:36.234> the<00:12:36.298> many<00:12:36.475> things<00:12:36.717> that<00:12:36.862> we<00:12:36.959> could<00:12:37.442> otherwise<00:12:37.877> spend<00:12:38.328> time<00:12:38.408> on.

00:12:39.360 --> 00:12:40.040
What<00:12:39.473> do<00:12:39.538> you<00:12:39.716> read?

00:12:40.121 --> 00:12:42.195
Like,<00:12:40.348> what<00:12:40.591> reading<00:12:40.850> recommendations<00:12:41.498> would<00:12:41.644> you<00:12:41.725> have<00:12:41.903> for<00:12:42.049> us?

00:12:43.685 --> 00:12:47.734
Well,<00:12:44.803> right<00:12:45.046> now<00:12:45.225> I'm<00:12:45.468> reading<00:12:46.018> Ray<00:12:46.180> Kurzweil's<00:12:46.764> The<00:12:46.845> Singularity<00:12:47.411> is<00:12:47.572> Near.

00:12:48.476 --> 00:13:00.098
So<00:12:48.944> Ray<00:12:49.428> Kurzweil,<00:12:51.913> he<00:12:52.010> wrote<00:12:52.171> The<00:12:52.252> Singularity<00:12:52.898> is<00:12:53.124> Near<00:12:53.688> around<00:12:53.931> 2005,<00:12:55.302> which<00:12:55.625> is<00:12:55.819> about<00:12:56.045> humanity<00:12:56.529> merging<00:12:56.772> with<00:12:57.084> AI<00:12:57.673> and<00:12:57.772> taking<00:12:58.148> the<00:12:58.230> evolution<00:12:58.640> of<00:12:58.722> the<00:12:58.804> human<00:12:59.049> race<00:12:59.311> into<00:12:59.492> its<00:12:59.721> own<00:12:59.868> hand.

00:13:00.807 --> 00:13:01.192
Hands.

00:13:01.385 --> 00:13:08.370
And,<00:13:02.011> you<00:13:02.092> know,<00:13:02.332> in<00:13:02.429> 2005,<00:13:03.055> I<00:13:03.151> remember<00:13:03.472> reading<00:13:03.729> it<00:13:03.858> and<00:13:04.018> I<00:13:04.034> was<00:13:04.195> like,<00:13:05.062> I<00:13:05.142> know<00:13:05.319> this<00:13:05.479> to<00:13:05.560> be<00:13:05.720> true,<00:13:06.041> but,<00:13:06.363> you<00:13:06.459> know,<00:13:06.925> it<00:13:07.021> seems<00:13:07.310> far<00:13:07.470> off<00:13:07.647> into<00:13:07.808> the<00:13:07.888> future.

00:13:08.691 --> 00:13:13.058
So<00:13:08.835> at<00:13:08.916> that<00:13:09.156> time,<00:13:09.333> he<00:13:09.413> was<00:13:09.510> saying<00:13:09.799> 2029<00:13:10.778> is<00:13:10.923> the<00:13:10.971> point<00:13:11.244> where,<00:13:11.581> where<00:13:11.822> humans<00:13:12.207> will<00:13:12.304> merge<00:13:12.544> with<00:13:12.849> AI.

00:13:13.668 --> 00:13:17.361
And<00:13:13.829> now<00:13:14.471> where<00:13:14.616> I'm<00:13:14.712> looking<00:13:15.017> at<00:13:15.194> it,<00:13:15.354> I<00:13:15.370> feel<00:13:15.579> like<00:13:15.675> he's<00:13:15.980> probably<00:13:16.221> like<00:13:16.462> right<00:13:16.719> on<00:13:16.880> track.

00:13:17.586 --> 00:13:19.256
Um,<00:13:18.148> and<00:13:18.228> it's<00:13:18.566> kind<00:13:18.790> of<00:13:18.822> crazy.

00:13:19.690 --> 00:13:24.571
So<00:13:19.914> I<00:13:19.930> haven't,<00:13:20.316> I<00:13:20.396> haven't<00:13:20.573> finished<00:13:20.814> reading<00:13:21.054> it<00:13:21.199> yet,<00:13:21.375> but<00:13:21.536> he's,<00:13:21.777> he<00:13:21.937> outlines<00:13:22.403> his<00:13:22.499> predictions<00:13:23.045> for<00:13:23.142> the<00:13:23.222> next<00:13:23.463> years<00:13:23.704> ahead.

00:13:24.812 --> 00:13:25.731
I'm<00:13:25.358> excited<00:13:25.582> about<00:13:25.711> that.

00:13:26.416 --> 00:13:36.129
Other<00:13:27.250> things,<00:13:27.699> I<00:13:27.715> mean,<00:13:27.955> I<00:13:28.035> try<00:13:28.372> to—<00:13:28.821> I<00:13:28.917> read<00:13:29.141> like<00:13:29.301> the<00:13:29.397> headlines<00:13:29.878> of<00:13:29.958> news<00:13:30.199> and<00:13:30.263> I<00:13:30.519> do<00:13:30.760> care<00:13:30.984> what's<00:13:31.161> going<00:13:31.481> on<00:13:31.641> in<00:13:31.705> the<00:13:31.802> world,<00:13:32.042> but<00:13:32.186> I<00:13:32.282> try<00:13:32.539> not<00:13:32.827> to<00:13:33.725> devolve<00:13:34.526> into<00:13:34.687> reading<00:13:35.007> too<00:13:35.167> much<00:13:35.344> about<00:13:35.632> politics.

00:13:36.209 --> 00:13:40.905
I<00:13:36.353> feel<00:13:36.450> like<00:13:36.770> politics<00:13:37.267> is<00:13:37.411> meant<00:13:37.572> to<00:13:37.652> be<00:13:37.796> very<00:13:38.052> distracting<00:13:38.694> and<00:13:38.854> where<00:13:39.094> the<00:13:39.254> real<00:13:39.655> innovation<00:13:40.056> and<00:13:40.136> change<00:13:40.441> is<00:13:40.521> happening.

00:13:41.562 --> 00:13:45.281
The<00:13:41.803> real<00:13:41.995> story<00:13:42.540> of<00:13:42.620> our<00:13:43.342> generation<00:13:43.902> is<00:13:44.063> in<00:13:44.159> science<00:13:44.608> and<00:13:44.704> technology.

00:13:45.826 --> 00:13:47.268
So<00:13:45.970> I<00:13:45.986> love<00:13:46.291> keeping<00:13:46.547> an<00:13:46.643> eye<00:13:46.787> on<00:13:46.948> that.

00:13:48.534 --> 00:13:48.695
Yeah.

00:13:48.855 --> 00:13:49.031
Yeah.

00:13:49.111 --> 00:13:54.641
Politics<00:13:49.592> is<00:13:49.753> a<00:13:49.817> whole<00:13:50.233> rabbit<00:13:50.618> hole<00:13:50.794> you<00:13:50.955> can<00:13:51.099> go<00:13:51.259> down<00:13:51.596> and<00:13:51.676> never<00:13:52.317> get<00:13:52.541> out<00:13:52.702> of<00:13:53.263> if<00:13:53.519> you<00:13:53.663> kind<00:13:53.824> of<00:13:53.920> follow<00:13:54.160> that<00:13:54.336> every<00:13:54.561> day.

00:13:55.106 --> 00:14:00.894
And<00:13:55.282> like<00:13:55.443> you<00:13:55.523> said,<00:13:55.827> it's<00:13:56.068> hard<00:13:56.886> to<00:13:57.046> make<00:13:57.302> a<00:13:57.431> dent<00:13:57.607> in<00:13:57.751> that<00:13:57.928> area<00:13:58.329> anyways,<00:13:58.793> particularly<00:13:59.290> if<00:13:59.435> you're<00:13:59.932> not<00:14:00.252> in<00:14:00.413> that<00:14:00.573> game.

00:14:02.080 --> 00:14:23.789
I<00:14:02.241> wonder,<00:14:03.539> as<00:14:03.684> you<00:14:03.780> think<00:14:03.956> about<00:14:05.046> AI<00:14:05.928> and<00:14:06.008> as<00:14:06.169> you<00:14:06.265> think<00:14:06.505> about<00:14:07.531> democratizing<00:14:08.894> or<00:14:08.990> the<00:14:09.135> globalization<00:14:09.872> of<00:14:09.952> talent,<00:14:11.540> how<00:14:11.652> do<00:14:11.780> you<00:14:12.438> think<00:14:12.598> about<00:14:12.919> culture<00:14:13.544> and<00:14:13.640> maintaining<00:14:14.185> your<00:14:14.346> culture,<00:14:15.163> both<00:14:15.628> at<00:14:15.805> your<00:14:16.029> company<00:14:16.670> and,<00:14:18.033> you<00:14:18.113> know,<00:14:18.290> like,<00:14:19.011> what<00:14:19.171> is<00:14:19.332> the—<00:14:19.508> how<00:14:19.652> do<00:14:19.717> you<00:14:19.893> do<00:14:20.053> that<00:14:20.454> in<00:14:20.598> terms<00:14:20.839> of<00:14:20.935> like<00:14:21.111> the<00:14:21.256> values<00:14:22.122> and<00:14:22.202> all<00:14:22.298> that<00:14:22.458> type<00:14:22.635> of<00:14:22.715> stuff<00:14:22.955> across<00:14:23.340> countries?

00:14:25.104 --> 00:14:26.195
That's<00:14:25.521> a<00:14:25.585> great<00:14:25.826> question.

00:14:26.451 --> 00:14:46.276
I<00:14:26.484> mean,<00:14:26.788> so<00:14:27.735> we're,<00:14:28.055> you<00:14:28.087> know,<00:14:28.232> we're<00:14:28.392> a<00:14:28.408> founder-led<00:14:29.194> company<00:14:29.595> and<00:14:29.980> we've<00:14:30.221> had<00:14:30.558> an<00:14:30.718> organic<00:14:31.263> DNA<00:14:31.680> that,<00:14:32.145> I<00:14:32.242> mean,<00:14:32.562> the<00:14:32.723> DNA<00:14:33.124> of<00:14:33.284> a<00:14:33.300> company<00:14:33.830> does,<00:14:34.327> it<00:14:34.648> matters<00:14:34.968> about<00:14:35.209> the<00:14:35.401> founder<00:14:35.835> and<00:14:35.995> things<00:14:36.203> for<00:14:36.396> me<00:14:36.556> that<00:14:36.669> have<00:14:36.813> been<00:14:36.973> important<00:14:37.438> have<00:14:37.615> been<00:14:38.882> people<00:14:39.139> being<00:14:39.299> human,<00:14:39.764> people<00:14:40.021> connecting<00:14:40.518> across<00:14:40.823> the<00:14:40.903> globe,<00:14:41.224> people<00:14:41.545> treating<00:14:41.865> each<00:14:42.090> other<00:14:42.250> with<00:14:42.411> consideration<00:14:43.132> and<00:14:43.213> respect,<00:14:43.710> but<00:14:43.854> also<00:14:44.817> driving<00:14:45.137> hard<00:14:45.699> as<00:14:45.795> a<00:14:45.875> business.

00:14:47.543 --> 00:14:52.275
And<00:14:47.640> over<00:14:47.880> the<00:14:48.041> 13<00:14:48.442> years<00:14:48.682> we've<00:14:49.147> had<00:14:49.628> different<00:14:49.949> chapters<00:14:50.751> in<00:14:51.072> the<00:14:51.168> company<00:14:51.633> and<00:14:51.730> in<00:14:51.810> the<00:14:51.890> business.

00:14:53.477 --> 00:14:54.407

00:14:55.000 --> 00:15:03.479
I<00:14:55.096> try<00:14:55.256> to,<00:14:56.234> in<00:14:56.362> the<00:14:56.555> early<00:14:56.923> days,<00:14:57.324> I<00:14:57.340> mean,<00:14:57.500> we,<00:14:57.725> we,<00:14:57.981> when<00:14:58.286> people<00:14:58.526> were<00:14:58.686> meeting<00:14:58.943> in<00:14:59.023> the<00:14:59.167> office<00:14:59.584> more<00:15:00.049> and<00:15:00.161> it<00:15:00.225> was<00:15:00.321> a<00:15:00.385> smaller<00:15:00.930> company,<00:15:01.251> we'd<00:15:01.347> have<00:15:01.491> people<00:15:01.812> flying<00:15:02.549> in<00:15:02.774> and<00:15:02.854> that<00:15:02.982> type<00:15:03.190> of<00:15:03.335> thing.

00:15:03.992 --> 00:15:08.432
I<00:15:04.056> would<00:15:04.232> always<00:15:04.553> try<00:15:04.873> to<00:15:05.114> bring<00:15:05.354> the<00:15:05.515> best<00:15:05.835> from<00:15:06.011> different<00:15:06.316> countries<00:15:07.021> into<00:15:07.294> our<00:15:07.502> headquarters<00:15:08.143> office.

00:15:08.961 --> 00:15:15.564
So<00:15:09.281> just<00:15:09.538> as<00:15:09.666> an<00:15:09.746> example,<00:15:10.307> we<00:15:10.467> had,<00:15:11.669> you<00:15:11.701> know,<00:15:11.846> when<00:15:11.942> you<00:15:12.006> go<00:15:12.102> to<00:15:12.182> see<00:15:12.407> our,<00:15:12.647> meet<00:15:12.823> our<00:15:13.048> team<00:15:13.272> in<00:15:13.352> India<00:15:13.609> or<00:15:13.689> Mexico,<00:15:14.571> they're<00:15:14.747> so<00:15:15.372> warm.

00:15:15.692 --> 00:15:18.209
They<00:15:15.837> pick<00:15:15.997> you<00:15:16.077> up<00:15:16.109> at<00:15:16.237> the<00:15:16.398> airport,<00:15:16.814> they<00:15:16.895> take<00:15:17.119> you<00:15:17.199> to<00:15:17.295> dinner<00:15:17.440> with<00:15:17.616> their<00:15:17.840> parents.

00:15:18.337 --> 00:15:20.549
Like<00:15:18.658> the<00:15:18.802> kid,<00:15:19.042> like<00:15:19.219> the<00:15:19.379> people,<00:15:19.619> the<00:15:19.780> team<00:15:20.164> is<00:15:20.341> like<00:15:20.389> so<00:15:20.469> warm.

00:15:21.350 --> 00:15:29.770
They<00:15:21.850> have<00:15:22.050> you<00:15:22.270> scheduled<00:15:22.570> both<00:15:22.870> socially<00:15:23.230> and<00:15:23.450> from<00:15:23.630> a<00:15:23.750> business<00:15:23.910> perspective,<00:15:24.590> from,<00:15:25.070> from<00:15:25.290> the<00:15:25.430> second<00:15:25.710> you<00:15:25.890> touch<00:15:26.070> the<00:15:26.270> ground<00:15:26.550> to<00:15:26.810> till<00:15:26.990> you<00:15:27.130> leave<00:15:27.550> and<00:15:27.670> you<00:15:27.830> just<00:15:28.030> feel<00:15:28.270> completely<00:15:28.690> loved<00:15:29.010> and<00:15:29.170> embraced.

00:15:30.110 --> 00:15:39.210
If<00:15:30.210> you<00:15:30.350> compare<00:15:30.650> that<00:15:30.990> to<00:15:31.730> an<00:15:31.990> Indian<00:15:32.270> team<00:15:32.590> member<00:15:32.890> flying<00:15:33.210> over<00:15:33.490> to<00:15:33.630> our<00:15:33.830> Boston<00:15:34.150> office,<00:15:34.890> following<00:15:35.290> the<00:15:35.490> American<00:15:35.830> cultural<00:15:36.250> tradition,<00:15:36.970> they<00:15:37.310> get<00:15:37.430> off<00:15:37.670> the<00:15:37.770> plane,<00:15:37.930> they<00:15:38.010> have<00:15:38.130> no<00:15:38.230> idea<00:15:38.390> how<00:15:38.510> to<00:15:38.570> get<00:15:38.690> through<00:15:38.910> customs.

00:15:39.350 --> 00:15:44.720
They<00:15:39.430> have<00:15:39.570> to<00:15:39.650> figure<00:15:39.810> out<00:15:39.950> how<00:15:40.090> to<00:15:40.430> book<00:15:40.610> a<00:15:40.850> taxi,<00:15:41.150> how<00:15:41.250> to<00:15:41.330> get<00:15:41.450> to<00:15:41.550> their<00:15:41.690> hotel,<00:15:42.150> how<00:15:42.230> to<00:15:42.330> walk<00:15:42.430> to<00:15:42.570> the<00:15:42.650> airport<00:15:42.990> or<00:15:43.650> how<00:15:43.830> to<00:15:43.950> walk<00:15:44.110> into<00:15:44.290> the<00:15:44.370> office.

00:15:44.810 --> 00:15:47.990
And<00:15:45.030> then<00:15:45.630> they<00:15:45.870> kind<00:15:46.110> of<00:15:46.230> walk<00:15:46.430> in<00:15:46.590> and<00:15:46.690> nobody<00:15:46.890> even<00:15:47.090> knows<00:15:47.270> they're<00:15:47.490> coming.

00:15:48.170 --> 00:15:50.630
I<00:15:48.230> mean,<00:15:48.290> you're<00:15:48.430> really<00:15:48.690> like,<00:15:49.030> Americans<00:15:49.370> are<00:15:49.690> so<00:15:50.130> independent.

00:15:51.552 --> 00:15:54.245
That<00:15:51.712> we<00:15:51.857> don't—<00:15:52.273> we<00:15:52.354> didn't<00:15:52.578> have<00:15:52.770> this<00:15:52.979> like<00:15:53.155> culture<00:15:53.396> of<00:15:53.540> hospitality.

00:15:54.662 --> 00:16:03.656
We<00:15:54.758> actually<00:15:55.079> hired<00:15:55.704> a<00:15:56.041> woman<00:15:56.346> whose<00:15:56.586> job<00:15:56.859> it<00:15:57.083> was<00:15:57.468> to<00:15:57.564> just<00:15:57.885> be<00:15:58.045> like<00:15:58.286> the<00:15:58.430> hospitality<00:15:59.151> commitment<00:15:59.648> and<00:15:59.809> bring<00:16:00.033> the<00:16:00.129> best<00:16:00.450> of<00:16:00.931> the<00:16:01.075> traditions<00:16:01.508> of<00:16:01.588> India<00:16:01.861> and<00:16:01.957> Mexico<00:16:02.438> into<00:16:02.550> our<00:16:02.678> headquarters<00:16:03.320> office.

00:16:04.602 --> 00:16:10.679
She<00:16:04.779> went<00:16:04.939> remote<00:16:05.404> like<00:16:05.580> everybody<00:16:05.965> else<00:16:06.158> during<00:16:06.462> the<00:16:06.526> pandemic<00:16:07.087> and<00:16:07.184> was<00:16:07.408> kind<00:16:07.472> of<00:16:07.584> reaching<00:16:07.969> out<00:16:08.130> to<00:16:08.226> people<00:16:08.627> and<00:16:08.787> doing<00:16:09.188> things<00:16:10.134> remotely.

00:16:11.256 --> 00:16:16.018
It<00:16:11.336> is<00:16:11.512> hard<00:16:11.977> to<00:16:12.154> have<00:16:12.779> a<00:16:13.661> remote,<00:16:14.799> you<00:16:14.879> know,<00:16:15.104> humanist<00:16:15.681> culture.

00:16:16.242 --> 00:16:20.619
We<00:16:16.322> try<00:16:16.563> to<00:16:16.643> do<00:16:16.819> things<00:16:17.268> like<00:16:17.509> the<00:16:17.541> Muse<00:16:17.925> storytelling<00:16:18.871> hour<00:16:19.929> by<00:16:20.170> Zoom.

00:16:21.132 --> 00:16:28.990
But<00:16:21.356> honestly,<00:16:23.040> it's<00:16:23.698> a<00:16:23.778> challenge<00:16:24.243> to<00:16:24.564> run<00:16:24.885> like<00:16:25.141> a<00:16:25.221> cozy,<00:16:26.985> like<00:16:27.226> really<00:16:27.466> vibrant<00:16:27.867> company<00:16:28.252> culture<00:16:28.573> by<00:16:28.685> Zoom.

00:16:29.295 --> 00:16:33.320
I<00:16:29.391> think<00:16:29.696> meeting<00:16:29.952> in<00:16:30.112> person<00:16:31.059> is<00:16:31.235> required<00:16:31.957> in<00:16:32.037> this<00:16:32.261> day<00:16:32.422> and<00:16:32.518> age<00:16:32.743> occasionally.

00:16:34.507 --> 00:16:37.249
Yeah,<00:16:35.469> yeah,<00:16:35.549> I<00:16:35.645> think<00:16:35.886> that's<00:16:36.367> exactly<00:16:36.912> right.

00:16:38.676 --> 00:16:43.728
How<00:16:38.917> do<00:16:38.949> you<00:16:39.093> stay<00:16:39.350> motivated<00:16:40.440> as<00:16:40.552> a<00:16:40.681> leader,<00:16:41.322> as<00:16:41.483> a<00:16:41.515> CEO,<00:16:42.300> like<00:16:42.621> every<00:16:42.862> day,<00:16:43.166> like<00:16:43.343> keep<00:16:43.583> going?

00:16:43.808 --> 00:16:45.877
You've<00:16:43.968> obviously<00:16:44.241> seen<00:16:44.529> a<00:16:44.690> tremendous<00:16:45.187> amount<00:16:45.411> of<00:16:45.444> success.

00:16:46.053 --> 00:16:46.919
What<00:16:46.213> keeps<00:16:46.454> you<00:16:46.550> going?

00:16:48.086 --> 00:16:48.570
Thank<00:16:48.392> you.

00:16:50.732 --> 00:17:05.498
I<00:16:50.813> think<00:16:50.990> what<00:16:51.071> keeps<00:16:51.378> me<00:16:51.555> going<00:16:52.184> is<00:16:52.362> like,<00:16:53.959> is<00:16:54.072> making<00:16:54.460> my<00:16:54.685> team<00:16:55.121> successful<00:16:56.542> and<00:16:56.720> knowing<00:16:57.205> that<00:16:57.448> like,<00:16:58.256> it's<00:16:58.644> really<00:16:58.838> about<00:16:59.145> making<00:16:59.452> the<00:16:59.533> next<00:16:59.792> generation<00:17:00.276> of<00:17:00.438> great<00:17:00.761> leaders<00:17:01.392> and<00:17:01.570> knowing<00:17:02.038> that<00:17:02.297> we<00:17:02.443> are<00:17:02.604> at<00:17:02.685> the<00:17:02.847> cutting<00:17:03.267> edge<00:17:03.978> of<00:17:04.140> the<00:17:04.172> next<00:17:04.496> era<00:17:04.722> of<00:17:04.884> technology.

00:17:05.611 --> 00:17:18.042
I<00:17:05.692> feel<00:17:05.837> like<00:17:06.015> with<00:17:06.193> our<00:17:06.501> original<00:17:06.889> business,<00:17:07.293> even<00:17:07.471> though<00:17:07.698> we,<00:17:08.345> even<00:17:08.458> though<00:17:08.669> the<00:17:09.170> global<00:17:09.477> employer<00:17:09.817> of<00:17:09.882> record<00:17:10.286> platform<00:17:11.273> and<00:17:11.435> that<00:17:11.742> industry<00:17:12.163> that<00:17:12.389> we<00:17:12.487> started,<00:17:13.346> has<00:17:13.586> only<00:17:13.682> really<00:17:14.083> penetrated<00:17:14.644> about<00:17:14.868> 40%<00:17:15.221> of<00:17:15.349> the<00:17:15.606> market<00:17:16.006> and<00:17:16.151> a<00:17:16.231> lot<00:17:16.391> of<00:17:16.487> companies<00:17:16.888> don't<00:17:17.112> even<00:17:17.192> know<00:17:17.353> it<00:17:17.449> exists<00:17:17.834> yet.

00:17:18.875 --> 00:17:21.889
To<00:17:18.988> me<00:17:19.132> it's<00:17:19.292> like,<00:17:19.597> oh,<00:17:19.677> we've<00:17:19.789> already<00:17:20.013> built<00:17:20.318> it<00:17:20.671> so<00:17:20.895> I<00:17:20.975> can<00:17:21.135> mentally<00:17:21.456> move<00:17:21.680> on.

00:17:22.257 --> 00:17:31.521
But<00:17:22.418> now<00:17:22.722> to<00:17:22.818> be<00:17:22.914> at<00:17:22.979> the<00:17:23.139> forefront<00:17:23.540> of<00:17:23.764> AI<00:17:24.100> and<00:17:24.325> be<00:17:24.421> like,<00:17:24.742> oh<00:17:24.902> my<00:17:25.062> God,<00:17:25.367> like<00:17:25.543> we<00:17:25.703> have<00:17:25.880> this<00:17:26.585> really—<00:17:26.969> we're<00:17:27.146> just—<00:17:28.188> we<00:17:28.268> have<00:17:28.444> an<00:17:28.588> incredible<00:17:29.149> opportunity<00:17:29.951> to<00:17:30.111> change<00:17:30.432> the<00:17:30.512> future<00:17:30.848> of<00:17:30.976> humanity.

00:17:32.034 --> 00:17:46.910

It's<00:17:47.380> incredibly<00:17:47.940> important.

00:17:48.680 --> 00:17:57.080
And,<00:17:49.520> you<00:17:49.521> know,<00:17:49.522> the<00:17:49.620> last<00:17:50.040> maybe<00:17:50.620> 5<00:17:50.980> generations<00:17:51.680> of<00:17:51.960> people,<00:17:52.480> of<00:17:52.600> our<00:17:52.840> elders<00:17:53.300> and<00:17:53.760> ancestors,<00:17:54.180> were<00:17:54.380> fighting<00:17:54.820> for<00:17:55.280> employment,<00:17:55.920> employment<00:17:56.260> rights.

00:17:57.080 --> 00:18:06.770
That's<00:17:57.380> what<00:17:57.580> we're<00:17:57.800> kind<00:17:58.100> of<00:17:58.101> codifying<00:17:58.840> into<00:17:59.280> the<00:17:59.400> future<00:17:59.680> of<00:17:59.820> humanity<00:18:00.300> by,<00:18:01.220> by<00:18:01.380> what<00:18:01.580> we're<00:18:01.740> offering<00:18:02.020> through,<00:18:02.520> through<00:18:02.700> our<00:18:02.900> HR<00:18:03.680> and<00:18:03.900> legal<00:18:04.060> product<00:18:04.600> that's<00:18:05.420> AI-enabled.

00:18:07.080 --> 00:18:18.773
Yeah,<00:18:07.100> we<00:18:07.260> kind<00:18:07.500> of,<00:18:07.660> we<00:18:07.720> kind<00:18:07.940> of<00:18:07.980> talked<00:18:08.160> about<00:18:08.340> politics<00:18:08.740> earlier,<00:18:09.220> but<00:18:09.600> I<00:18:09.800> wonder<00:18:09.940> what<00:18:10.120> you<00:18:10.320> think<00:18:10.460> of<00:18:10.640> this<00:18:10.820> whole<00:18:11.020> idea<00:18:11.380> of<00:18:12.268> CEOs<00:18:12.959> maybe<00:18:13.216> 10,<00:18:13.457> 15<00:18:13.778> years<00:18:14.019> ago<00:18:15.063> were<00:18:15.159> never<00:18:15.609> asked<00:18:15.946> to<00:18:16.187> speak<00:18:16.589> out<00:18:16.814> on<00:18:16.894> anything<00:18:17.312> outside<00:18:17.794> their<00:18:18.034> company,<00:18:18.661> right?

00:18:18.822 --> 00:18:21.215
Like<00:18:18.998> people<00:18:19.319> just<00:18:19.480> like,<00:18:20.022> hey,<00:18:20.042> this<00:18:20.267> is<00:18:20.444> what<00:18:20.588> you<00:18:20.669> do<00:18:20.829> for<00:18:20.926> a<00:18:21.006> living.

00:18:21.311 --> 00:18:24.748
Like,<00:18:21.536> hey,<00:18:22.050> well,<00:18:22.194> you<00:18:22.275> know,<00:18:22.451> if<00:18:22.612> you're<00:18:22.741> in<00:18:22.773> manufacturing,<00:18:23.447> we<00:18:23.479> want<00:18:23.656> to<00:18:23.736> ask<00:18:23.961> you<00:18:23.993> about<00:18:24.138> manufacturing.

00:18:25.182 --> 00:18:37.228
Now<00:18:25.439> CEOs<00:18:26.049> have<00:18:26.226> a<00:18:26.290> much<00:18:26.692> larger<00:18:27.174> role<00:18:27.350> in<00:18:27.495> society,<00:18:28.073> it<00:18:28.169> seems<00:18:28.555> like,<00:18:28.796> and<00:18:28.876> they<00:18:28.957> have<00:18:29.133> a<00:18:29.181> social<00:18:29.599> responsibility<00:18:31.189> to<00:18:31.607> go<00:18:31.912> outside<00:18:32.313> of<00:18:32.346> their<00:18:32.570> company<00:18:33.213> and<00:18:33.374> to,<00:18:34.080> you<00:18:34.112> know,<00:18:34.353> speak<00:18:34.883> on<00:18:35.462> behalf,<00:18:35.847> you<00:18:35.879> know,<00:18:36.040> whatever<00:18:36.650> they're<00:18:36.827> passionate<00:18:37.132> about.

00:18:37.614 --> 00:18:38.529
How<00:18:37.694> do<00:18:37.790> you<00:18:37.935> feel<00:18:38.176> about<00:18:38.417> that?

00:18:38.594 --> 00:18:40.441
Do<00:18:38.642> you<00:18:38.674> think<00:18:38.835> that's<00:18:39.011> a<00:18:39.075> good<00:18:39.236> change,<00:18:39.557> bad<00:18:39.718> change,<00:18:40.119> neutral?

00:18:42.972 --> 00:18:49.106
I<00:18:42.988> mean,<00:18:43.134> I<00:18:43.231> think<00:18:43.441> people<00:18:43.700> want<00:18:43.878> to<00:18:43.911> know<00:18:44.024> who<00:18:44.186> they're<00:18:44.445> working<00:18:44.833> for<00:18:45.157> and<00:18:45.319> with,<00:18:45.820> you<00:18:45.901> know,<00:18:46.079> and<00:18:46.290> where<00:18:46.468> does<00:18:46.581> somebody<00:18:46.969> stand<00:18:47.439> from<00:18:47.601> an<00:18:47.698> integrity<00:18:48.329> perspective.

00:18:49.607 --> 00:18:56.157
I<00:18:49.688> would<00:18:49.866> say,<00:18:50.352> you<00:18:50.433> know,<00:18:50.595> there,<00:18:52.626> there's<00:18:53.177> often<00:18:53.436> not<00:18:53.760> a<00:18:53.905> right<00:18:54.165> side<00:18:54.553> of<00:18:54.651> any<00:18:54.813> situation<00:18:55.379> or<00:18:55.541> a<00:18:55.622> wrong<00:18:55.882> side.

00:18:56.270 --> 00:19:00.724
There's<00:18:56.449> just<00:18:56.675> human<00:18:56.918> compassion<00:18:57.420> and<00:18:57.566> empathy,<00:18:58.117> and,<00:18:58.457> and<00:18:58.700> always<00:18:58.943> being<00:18:59.121> in<00:18:59.251> aligned<00:18:59.591> with<00:18:59.834> integrity<00:19:00.320> is<00:19:00.450> important.

00:19:01.596 --> 00:19:12.999
Um,<00:19:02.758> I'm<00:19:02.903> not<00:19:03.000> sure<00:19:03.243> I<00:19:03.307> have<00:19:03.533> more<00:19:03.775> to<00:19:03.872> say<00:19:04.195> than<00:19:04.583> on<00:19:04.825> that,<00:19:05.067> but<00:19:05.309> I<00:19:05.567> do<00:19:05.729> think<00:19:06.052> that<00:19:06.229> CEOs<00:19:06.940> are<00:19:07.863> They're<00:19:08.089> business<00:19:08.346> celebrities<00:19:08.974> and<00:19:09.071> they're<00:19:09.312> leaders<00:19:09.779> and<00:19:09.859> they're<00:19:10.037> people<00:19:10.342> that,<00:19:10.664> they're<00:19:11.598> people<00:19:11.791> that<00:19:11.952> people<00:19:12.210> want<00:19:12.371> to<00:19:12.612> follow.

00:19:13.160 --> 00:19:16.557
And,<00:19:13.417> and<00:19:13.514> I<00:19:13.659> think<00:19:13.981> people<00:19:14.448> have<00:19:14.625> a<00:19:14.850> right,<00:19:15.430> people<00:19:15.816> have<00:19:16.009> a<00:19:16.219> right.

00:19:17.217 --> 00:19:25.489
So<00:19:17.330> yeah,<00:19:17.604> I<00:19:17.620> do<00:19:17.685> think<00:19:17.927> where<00:19:18.089> CEO<00:19:18.493> Matters<00:19:18.848> stands<00:19:19.688> on<00:19:19.785> certain<00:19:20.092> topics,<00:19:21.078> especially<00:19:21.385> when<00:19:21.466> you're<00:19:21.563> choosing<00:19:21.886> something<00:19:22.209> as<00:19:22.290> important<00:19:22.677> as<00:19:22.774> who's<00:19:23.001> gonna<00:19:23.098> be<00:19:23.243> your<00:19:23.340> employer,<00:19:23.986> what<00:19:24.035> are<00:19:24.132> you<00:19:24.293> gonna,<00:19:24.632> what<00:19:24.762> are<00:19:24.794> you<00:19:24.859> gonna<00:19:25.036> work<00:19:25.279> towards?

00:19:26.070 --> 00:19:33.185
Like<00:19:26.182> where<00:19:26.424> people<00:19:26.909> want<00:19:27.296> more<00:19:29.248> from<00:19:29.490> their<00:19:29.716> employer<00:19:30.378> and<00:19:30.458> from<00:19:30.620> their<00:19:30.765> business<00:19:31.168> partners<00:19:31.991> than<00:19:32.233> just<00:19:32.475> money<00:19:33.040> now.

00:19:33.540 --> 00:19:37.810
They<00:19:33.637> want<00:19:33.717> to<00:19:33.814> be<00:19:33.895> inspired<00:19:34.850> by<00:19:35.901> what<00:19:36.063> they<00:19:36.483> work<00:19:36.710> for<00:19:36.888> and<00:19:37.033> what<00:19:37.130> they<00:19:37.276> buy<00:19:37.454> into.

00:19:39.752 --> 00:19:41.797
What<00:19:39.800> makes<00:19:40.058> a<00:19:40.138> great<00:19:40.396> leader<00:19:41.265> in<00:19:41.346> your<00:19:41.507> opinion?

00:19:41.845 --> 00:19:43.906
Like<00:19:42.070> what<00:19:42.248> traits<00:19:42.731> and<00:19:42.892> values<00:19:43.310> should<00:19:43.536> they<00:19:43.681> have?

00:19:44.824 --> 00:19:55.439
Let's<00:19:44.985> see,<00:19:45.307> in<00:19:45.388> terms<00:19:45.855> of<00:19:46.193> what<00:19:46.354> are<00:19:46.579> the<00:19:46.998> most<00:19:47.320> important<00:19:47.722> traits<00:19:48.125> a<00:19:48.141> successful<00:19:48.673> leader<00:19:48.946> should<00:19:49.140> have,<00:19:49.573> I<00:19:49.654> think<00:19:49.879> for<00:19:50.039> a<00:19:50.055> founder<00:19:50.554> CEO,<00:19:51.341> it's<00:19:51.486> really<00:19:51.743> a<00:19:51.903> vision<00:19:52.530> and<00:19:52.626> staying<00:19:53.028> true<00:19:53.269> to<00:19:53.430> the<00:19:53.591> vision<00:19:53.912> of<00:19:54.137> what<00:19:54.298> you<00:19:54.378> set<00:19:54.619> out<00:19:54.796> to<00:19:54.940> execute.

00:19:55.519 --> 00:20:10.305
Because<00:19:57.431> if<00:19:57.592> you're<00:19:57.769> a<00:19:57.929> founder<00:19:58.509> CEO,<00:19:58.986> which<00:19:59.151> is<00:19:59.233> different<00:20:00.534> than<00:20:00.633> other<00:20:00.880> types<00:20:01.127> of<00:20:01.209> CEOs,<00:20:02.916> there's<00:20:03.173> some,<00:20:03.509> something<00:20:04.054> that<00:20:04.359> you<00:20:04.455> set<00:20:04.695> out<00:20:04.871> to<00:20:05.016> accomplish<00:20:05.561> that<00:20:05.737> nobody<00:20:06.057> else,<00:20:06.602> you<00:20:06.634> know,<00:20:07.404> kind<00:20:07.740> of<00:20:07.836> had<00:20:07.997> the<00:20:08.125> audacity<00:20:08.702> to<00:20:08.782> do<00:20:09.343> and<00:20:09.583> the<00:20:09.728> gumption<00:20:10.080> to<00:20:10.176> do.

00:20:10.561 --> 00:20:11.619
There's<00:20:10.769> a<00:20:10.786> high<00:20:10.866> risk<00:20:11.106> of<00:20:11.186> failure.

00:20:12.308 --> 00:20:24.697
But,<00:20:12.693> you<00:20:12.773> know,<00:20:12.949> I<00:20:13.029> think<00:20:13.270> either<00:20:13.574> owning<00:20:13.911> like<00:20:14.071> you're<00:20:14.167> going<00:20:14.328> to<00:20:14.376> make<00:20:14.568> it<00:20:14.648> or<00:20:14.712> not<00:20:14.953> make<00:20:15.257> it<00:20:15.417> and<00:20:15.578> driving<00:20:16.059> with<00:20:16.299> everything<00:20:16.716> you<00:20:16.940> have<00:20:17.277> to<00:20:17.501> get<00:20:17.741> there<00:20:18.543> and<00:20:18.639> like<00:20:19.184> corralling<00:20:19.761> a<00:20:19.841> team<00:20:20.146> behind<00:20:20.578> you<00:20:20.963> to<00:20:21.123> accomplish<00:20:21.604> that<00:20:21.909> vision<00:20:22.165> and<00:20:22.245> mission,<00:20:22.630> that's<00:20:23.111> ultimately<00:20:23.511> what<00:20:23.672> moves<00:20:23.928> the<00:20:24.072> world<00:20:24.200> forward.

00:20:24.890 --> 00:20:25.210
Right.

00:20:25.707 --> 00:20:26.605
So<00:20:25.755> that's<00:20:26.172> critical.

00:20:27.117 --> 00:20:29.393
The<00:20:27.214> second<00:20:27.518> is<00:20:27.614> passion,<00:20:28.175> which<00:20:28.416> ties<00:20:28.736> right<00:20:28.977> into<00:20:29.137> that.

00:20:29.457 --> 00:20:38.489
You<00:20:29.538> know,<00:20:29.762> you<00:20:29.874> have<00:20:30.115> to<00:20:30.243> have<00:20:30.419> the<00:20:30.579> passion<00:20:31.124> of<00:20:31.301> like<00:20:32.006> endless<00:20:32.648> grit<00:20:33.290> and<00:20:33.370> determination<00:20:34.028> to<00:20:34.108> get<00:20:34.253> it<00:20:34.413> done<00:20:34.734> because<00:20:35.007> that<00:20:35.232> human<00:20:35.633> force<00:20:36.034> and<00:20:36.178> willpower<00:20:36.676> is<00:20:36.772> the<00:20:36.981> only<00:20:37.109> thing<00:20:37.382> that's<00:20:37.542> going<00:20:37.671> to<00:20:37.703> make<00:20:37.879> it<00:20:38.024> happen.

00:20:39.227 --> 00:20:44.282
And<00:20:39.292> then<00:20:39.468> finally,<00:20:39.949> I<00:20:40.030> think,<00:20:40.415> you<00:20:40.447> know,<00:20:40.752> just<00:20:40.928> from<00:20:41.089> a<00:20:41.105> structural<00:20:41.715> perspective,<00:20:42.228> it's<00:20:42.453> making<00:20:42.694> sure<00:20:42.918> that<00:20:43.014> you<00:20:43.079> have<00:20:43.191> the<00:20:43.319> right<00:20:43.496> team<00:20:43.801> behind<00:20:44.202> you.

00:20:44.780 --> 00:20:58.741
So,<00:20:45.807> um,<00:20:46.449> it's<00:20:46.609> both<00:20:46.866> choosing<00:20:47.331> the<00:20:47.428> right—<00:20:47.765> it's,<00:20:47.989> it's<00:20:48.214> choosing<00:20:48.551> the<00:20:48.631> right<00:20:48.872> people,<00:20:49.273> it's<00:20:49.658> moving<00:20:49.915> people<00:20:50.220> around<00:20:50.717> when<00:20:50.862> you<00:20:50.958> need<00:20:51.279> to,<00:20:52.065> and<00:20:52.145> then<00:20:52.258> it's<00:20:52.402> also<00:20:52.707> treating<00:20:53.124> them<00:20:53.445> well<00:20:53.911> and<00:20:53.991> inspiring<00:20:54.729> them<00:20:54.970> to<00:20:55.275> leap<00:20:55.531> across<00:20:56.077> every<00:20:56.719> hurdle<00:20:57.200> that<00:20:57.441> is<00:20:57.537> inevitably<00:20:58.019> going<00:20:58.179> to<00:20:58.259> come<00:20:58.420> your<00:20:58.564> way.

00:20:59.158 --> 00:21:07.880
So,<00:20:59.687> I<00:20:59.928> think<00:21:00.344> that's<00:21:00.585> my<00:21:00.825> secret<00:21:01.226> formula<00:21:01.771> for<00:21:02.830> success<00:21:03.711> that<00:21:04.417> I<00:21:04.737> try<00:21:04.914> to,<00:21:05.619> I<00:21:05.635> think<00:21:05.796> those<00:21:05.972> are<00:21:06.052> the<00:21:06.132> critical<00:21:06.469> components<00:21:06.918> of<00:21:06.998> CEO<00:21:07.383> leadership.

00:21:08.361 --> 00:21:08.938
I<00:21:08.377> love<00:21:08.762> it.

00:21:09.804 --> 00:21:18.301
Finally,<00:21:10.205> we<00:21:10.750> end<00:21:10.910> every<00:21:11.087> interview<00:21:11.327> with<00:21:11.471> the<00:21:11.551> same<00:21:11.808> question,<00:21:13.091> and<00:21:13.235> that<00:21:13.475> is<00:21:13.588> at<00:21:13.668> CEO.com,<00:21:14.453> we<00:21:14.614> believe<00:21:14.854> the<00:21:14.934> chances<00:21:15.399> one<00:21:15.656> gives<00:21:16.361> is<00:21:16.522> just<00:21:16.778> as<00:21:16.858> important<00:21:17.179> as<00:21:17.323> the<00:21:17.420> chances<00:21:17.820> one<00:21:17.981> takes.

00:21:19.103 --> 00:21:22.181
When<00:21:19.344> you<00:21:19.584> hear<00:21:19.825> that,<00:21:20.129> who<00:21:20.290> gave<00:21:20.530> you<00:21:20.626> a<00:21:20.706> chance<00:21:21.027> to<00:21:21.171> get<00:21:21.332> you<00:21:21.428> to<00:21:21.508> where<00:21:21.732> you<00:21:21.893> are<00:21:22.053> today?

00:21:23.256 --> 00:21:24.843
Yeah,<00:21:23.897> thank<00:21:24.137> you<00:21:24.234> for<00:21:24.458> asking.

00:21:25.356 --> 00:21:38.817
I<00:21:25.436> mean,<00:21:25.821> when<00:21:25.981> I<00:21:26.142> think<00:21:26.254> about<00:21:26.623> who<00:21:26.783> gave<00:21:27.023> me<00:21:27.136> the<00:21:27.264> best<00:21:27.456> chance,<00:21:28.146> I<00:21:28.178> think<00:21:28.386> like<00:21:28.563> everyone<00:21:28.948> else,<00:21:29.125> it's<00:21:29.285> my<00:21:29.510> parents,<00:21:30.248> you<00:21:30.328> know,<00:21:30.649> like,<00:21:31.676> and,<00:21:32.077> um,<00:21:33.441> in<00:21:33.522> the<00:21:33.602> case<00:21:33.794> of<00:21:33.923> my<00:21:34.099> parents,<00:21:34.420> they<00:21:34.725> were<00:21:34.902> always<00:21:35.126> incredibly<00:21:35.560> supportive<00:21:36.105> of<00:21:36.266> me<00:21:36.426> being,<00:21:36.667> you<00:21:36.747> know,<00:21:37.132> kind<00:21:37.229> of<00:21:37.373> marching<00:21:37.710> to<00:21:37.790> the<00:21:37.870> beat<00:21:38.031> of<00:21:38.175> my<00:21:38.352> own<00:21:38.496> drummer.

00:21:38.914 --> 00:21:51.398
I<00:21:39.074> grew<00:21:39.218> up<00:21:39.315> in<00:21:39.379> the<00:21:39.459> Midwest,<00:21:40.101> and,<00:21:40.422> and<00:21:40.839> international<00:21:41.337> travel<00:21:41.786> was<00:21:41.979> not<00:21:42.219> a<00:21:42.283> common<00:21:42.669> thing,<00:21:42.845> but<00:21:43.070> they,<00:21:44.434> they<00:21:44.530> really<00:21:44.771> encouraged<00:21:45.397> me<00:21:45.493> to<00:21:45.637> travel<00:21:45.974> abroad<00:21:46.456> at<00:21:46.536> a<00:21:46.616> young<00:21:46.921> age<00:21:47.178> and,<00:21:47.419> and<00:21:47.515> study<00:21:47.884> abroad<00:21:48.285> in<00:21:48.446> college,<00:21:49.168> which<00:21:49.585> must<00:21:49.729> have<00:21:49.826> taken<00:21:50.147> an<00:21:50.243> incredible<00:21:50.724> amount<00:21:50.933> of<00:21:51.093> courage.

00:21:52.137 --> 00:21:56.262
Um,<00:21:52.698> and<00:21:52.794> I'm<00:21:53.035> just<00:21:53.276> incredibly<00:21:53.902> grateful<00:21:54.383> for<00:21:54.479> them<00:21:54.800> for,<00:21:54.881> for<00:21:55.346> everything<00:21:55.668> that<00:21:55.764> they<00:21:55.925> taught<00:21:56.166> me.
