# Myra Ahmad bet her company on the word "personalized"

On April 20, a federal judge in San Francisco [ruled](https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/eli-lilly-vs-mochi-health-order.pdf?ref=ceo.com) that Eli Lilly's lawsuit against Mochi Health can go forward. Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley had thrown out Lilly's first complaint in October for failing to establish that Lilly was harmed at all. The amended version cleared that bar, and two claims survived: unfair competition under California law and false advertising under the federal Lanham Act.

Lilly alleges Mochi Health, a corporation without a medical license, exercises control over the doctors who prescribe through it. It hires the physicians at the affiliated Mochi Medical entities, advertises for them, supplies diagnostic protocols, and trains their staff. It also, Lilly says, changed the dose and formulation of patients' compounded tirzepatide three separate times, in December 2024, March 2025, and September 2025, driven by shifting pharmacy partnerships rather than any clinical indication.

California prohibits lay corporations from practicing medicine, and Corley found the allegations plausible enough to proceed. The California Medical Association filed a brief against Mochi's motion to dismiss, [according to Courthouse News](https://www.courthousenews.com/eli-lilly-can-proceed-with-lawsuit-against-telehealth-seller-of-weight-loss-drugs/?ref=ceo.com).

The order is not uniformly bad for Mochi. Corley dismissed Lilly's civil conspiracy claim outright, finding no plausible agreement among Mochi Health, the Mochi Medical entities, and Aequita Pharmacy, all named defendants. Mere association, she wrote, is not a conspiracy. She also declined to infer that Mochi forced any physician to write a particular prescription, noting the allegations do not support that. Discovery is now open. Mochi said it was pleased with the ruling and "remain confident in our position."

Aequita is the other thread. A year before the ruling, Washington State [ordered](https://doh.wa.gov/newsroom/pharmacy-quality-assurance-commission-issues-limited-stop-service-license-pharmacy?ref=ceo.com) the Kirkland pharmacy to stop compounding after it failed to implement a state-approved plan to correct deficient practices. The commission alleged those practices included letting untrained and unqualified staff perform sterile compounding.

Mochi [responded](https://joinmochi.com/blog/aequita-quality-reports?ref=ceo.com) by publishing third-party certificates of analysis for recent batches, saying it would not resume work with Aequita until the state cleared it, and characterizing the state's concerns as matters of reporting structure and operations. The Washington notice describes something more than paperwork.

This is the company Dr. Myra Ahmad came to talk about on the CEO.com Podcast. She is a physician trained at the University of Washington who founded Mochi in 2022 and reached profitability within a year.

"We raised funding in March 2022," she said. "Then by late 2022, we became profitable and have continued operating off existing cash flow since then."

She raised once. Hims & Hers, Ro, and Noom took hundreds of millions of venture dollars into the same market. Mochi grew on its own revenue instead, and by [July 2025](https://joinmochi.com/blog/mochi-health-patients-lose-over-3-million-pounds-combined?ref=ceo.com) reported 500% year-over-year growth, licensure in all 50 states, and patients who had collectively lost more than 3 million pounds.

That November, it [announced](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2025/11/12/3186360/0/en/Mochi-Health-Expands-Beyond-Obesity-Care-with-Comprehensive-Digital-Health-Platform-Adding-15-New-Categories-of-Care.html?ref=ceo.com) an expansion into 15 new specialty areas, putting a catalog of more than 120 conditions in front of over 500 affiliated providers. Ahmad describes the model as a marketplace rather than a pipeline. "I usually compare it to DoorDash versus Domino's." Patients choose the provider and the pharmacy; the company sells access, not a single product.

The lawsuit went unmentioned in the conversation. But her defense of compounding, the practice at the center of it, ran through the whole hour.

"Compounding is actually a longstanding and very normal part of pharmacy practice," she said. It already happens in IVF, pediatrics, and skincare, she pointed out, without anyone objecting. Applied to obesity drugs, it lets a provider adjust dose and formulation to a patient's side effects. "It's really personalized medicine."

The FDA has since narrowed the ground further, advising that a compounded drug combining a GLP-1 with another active ingredient such as a vitamin may still count as essentially a copy of the approved product. Ahmad says tailoring is the company's entire point.

On the medicine itself, her ground is firmer. "If someone comes to a doctor for depression or anxiety, providers discuss medications and treatment options openly," she said. "Historically, obesity wasn't treated that way." She has watched the category she works in become a culture-war object and does not hide her irritation. "Honestly, I've never seen a medication category receive this much vitriol."

The population data is on her side. [Gallup](https://news.gallup.com/poll/712157/glp-usage-reaches-new-high.aspx?ref=ceo.com) finds the adult obesity rate has fallen from a 2022 peak of 39.9% to 36.4%, a decline it calls statistically meaningful and says tracks inversely with GLP-1 use. Current use has climbed from 3% of adults in 2024 to 11% this year. Ahmad credits the medications.

Only 19% of current GLP-1 users are on a compounded version, against 68% on brand-name products. And the traffic runs mostly one way for one reason: 35% of compounded users switched from a brand name, while just 10% went the other direction, and those moving toward compounded were twice as likely to cite cost.

Price is where the pressure lands, and it comes from an unexpected direction. Under the White House's [November agreements](https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/11/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-announces-major-developments-in-bringing-most-favored-nation-pricing-to-american-patients/?ref=ceo.com) with Lilly and Novo Nordisk, Medicare pays $245 a month for Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound against a $50 patient copay; cash buyers pay about $350 through the TrumpRx platform, and Medicare covers Wegovy and Zepbound for obesity for the first time. Cheap branded drugs erode the discount that made compounded versions attractive. Ahmad chooses to see the policy as an ally. "Anything that removes unnecessary middle layers from healthcare tends to improve access and reduce costs for patients."

Mochi has been adjusting all the same, adding generics to its catalog and, [this month](https://joinmochi.com/blog/per-dose-pricing-mochi-health?ref=ceo.com), replacing its flat medication rate with per-dose pricing that drops compounded semaglutide to $60 at the lowest dose.

Tariffs, the year's other macro story, mostly missed her. Compounding pharmacies manufacture domestically. "At one point, we had a quarter-million water bottles stuck on boats for months," she said. "Our biggest tariff story was cardboard boxes and shipping delays."

The company is fully in person in San Francisco, built its own medical records system, and leans hard on lawyers. "Healthcare is simply much more regulated than traditional SaaS businesses." Medical school showed her where the system fails patients. It taught her nothing about the money. "Doctors often graduate without understanding how money actually moves through healthcare systems."

Asked who gave her a chance, she named her team. "Every one of them had many other opportunities available to them, and they chose to help build this vision together."

00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:05.000
Dr.<00:00:00.560> Myra<00:00:01.120> Ahmad,<00:00:02.000> thank<00:00:02.240> you<00:00:02.360> so<00:00:02.680> much<00:00:03.200> for<00:00:03.400> joining<00:00:03.880> the<00:00:04.000> CEO.com<00:00:04.720> show.

00:00:05.000 --> 00:00:11.800
What<00:00:05.120> an<00:00:05.280> honor<00:00:05.560> to<00:00:05.680> have<00:00:05.960> you.<00:00:06.680> You<00:00:06.920> are<00:00:07.080> the<00:00:07.360> CEO<00:00:08.640> and<00:00:09.600> founder<00:00:10.400> of<00:00:10.760> Mochi.

00:00:11.800 --> 00:00:14.760
Tell<00:00:12.069> us<00:00:12.337> what<00:00:12.606> Mochi's<00:00:12.874> all<00:00:13.143> about.<00:00:13.411> <00:00:13.680> Yeah.

00:00:14.760 --> 00:00:20.160
Thank<00:00:15.000> you<00:00:15.080> so<00:00:15.160> much<00:00:15.320> for<00:00:15.440> having<00:00:15.760> me.<00:00:15.880> Mochi<00:00:16.440> is<00:00:17.160> a<00:00:18.200> marketplace<00:00:18.800> for<00:00:19.120> evidence-based<00:00:19.760> care.

00:00:20.160 --> 00:00:26.520
So<00:00:20.480> we<00:00:20.760> pride<00:00:20.960> ourselves<00:00:21.280> on<00:00:21.400> being<00:00:21.720> an<00:00:21.960> open<00:00:22.200> marketplace<00:00:22.680> for<00:00:22.800> providers<00:00:23.360> and<00:00:23.480> patients<00:00:23.880> to<00:00:24.040> get<00:00:24.360> access<00:00:24.680> to<00:00:24.800> whatever<00:00:25.080> care<00:00:25.280> they<00:00:25.440> need.

00:00:26.520 --> 00:00:31.720
Our<00:00:26.680> focus<00:00:27.040> for<00:00:27.160> the<00:00:27.240> past<00:00:28.200> couple<00:00:28.520> of<00:00:28.640> years<00:00:29.000> has<00:00:29.160> been<00:00:29.400> metabolic<00:00:29.880> health<00:00:30.080> and<00:00:30.200> obesity.

00:00:31.720 --> 00:00:36.960
<00:00:32.035> So<00:00:32.349> obviously<00:00:32.664> there's<00:00:32.979> a<00:00:33.293> revolution<00:00:33.608> going<00:00:33.923> on<00:00:34.237> in<00:00:34.552> that<00:00:34.867> particular<00:00:35.181> area<00:00:35.496> of<00:00:35.811> health<00:00:36.125> care,<00:00:36.440> right?

00:00:36.960 --> 00:00:46.480
With<00:00:38.040> um<00:00:38.560> you<00:00:38.760> know,<00:00:39.040> like<00:00:39.640> I<00:00:39.720> think<00:00:39.920> Ozempic<00:00:40.360> or<00:00:40.440> Wegovy<00:00:40.960> or<00:00:41.080> one<00:00:41.240> of<00:00:41.280> those<00:00:41.520> like<00:00:41.680> first<00:00:41.920> coming<00:00:42.200> out<00:00:42.320> and<00:00:42.400> kind<00:00:42.560> of<00:00:42.600> like<00:00:42.800> revolutionizing<00:00:44.280> like<00:00:44.760> how<00:00:45.720> um

00:00:46.480 --> 00:00:49.800
uh<00:00:47.000> kind<00:00:47.240> of<00:00:47.720> they're<00:00:47.880> kind<00:00:48.040> of<00:00:48.120> like<00:00:48.240> called<00:00:48.520> wonder<00:00:48.800> drugs<00:00:49.160> or<00:00:49.240> something<00:00:49.520> like<00:00:49.680> that.

00:00:49.800 --> 00:00:54.960
Like<00:00:49.960> how<00:00:50.120> how<00:00:50.280> incredible<00:00:50.720> this<00:00:50.920> is.<00:00:51.480> But<00:00:51.960> also<00:00:53.000> um<00:00:53.200> they're<00:00:53.360> expensive,<00:00:54.320> right?

00:00:54.960 --> 00:01:00.840
And<00:00:55.160> so<00:00:55.800> um<00:00:56.320> tell<00:00:56.520> us<00:00:56.640> how<00:00:56.760> you're<00:00:56.960> different<00:00:57.480> from<00:00:57.720> those<00:00:58.320> types<00:00:58.800> of<00:00:59.680> uh<00:00:59.760> companies.

00:01:00.840 --> 00:01:09.400
<00:01:01.155> Yeah.<00:01:01.470> Um<00:01:01.785> so<00:01:02.100> we<00:01:02.415> are<00:01:02.730> a<00:01:03.045> marketplace<00:01:03.360> where<00:01:03.675> patients<00:01:03.990> can<00:01:04.305> come<00:01:04.620> and<00:01:04.935> meet<00:01:05.250> a<00:01:05.565> provider<00:01:05.880> and<00:01:06.195> then<00:01:06.510> get<00:01:06.825> access<00:01:07.140> to<00:01:07.455> whatever<00:01:07.770> medication<00:01:08.085> they<00:01:08.400> need.

00:01:09.400 --> 00:01:13.240
Um<00:01:09.520> patients<00:01:09.840> work<00:01:10.080> with<00:01:10.200> their<00:01:10.320> provider<00:01:10.720> to<00:01:10.840> come<00:01:11.040> up<00:01:11.160> with<00:01:11.320> the<00:01:11.480> customized<00:01:12.040> plan<00:01:12.280> for<00:01:12.400> them.

00:01:13.240 --> 00:01:17.240
That<00:01:13.480> can<00:01:13.680> include<00:01:14.400> any<00:01:14.800> of<00:01:15.560> the<00:01:15.680> brand<00:01:15.920> name<00:01:16.040> medications<00:01:16.600> for<00:01:16.720> obesity.

00:01:17.240 --> 00:01:25.680
It<00:01:17.360> can<00:01:17.520> include<00:01:17.880> menopause<00:01:18.360> medication,<00:01:19.720> um<00:01:19.920> skin<00:01:20.280> care,<00:01:21.240> um<00:01:22.200> a<00:01:22.280> lot<00:01:22.560> of<00:01:22.680> other<00:01:22.960> focuses<00:01:23.400> outside<00:01:23.680> of<00:01:23.760> obesity<00:01:24.160> as<00:01:24.360> well<00:01:24.640> and<00:01:24.760> just<00:01:24.920> general<00:01:25.240> metabolic

00:01:25.680 --> 00:01:32.440
health.<00:01:26.640> Um<00:01:26.680> we<00:01:26.840> also<00:01:27.040> do<00:01:27.200> compounded<00:01:27.640> medications<00:01:28.480> and<00:01:29.480> um<00:01:29.560> generic<00:01:29.960> medications<00:01:30.520> based<00:01:30.800> on<00:01:31.160> what<00:01:31.400> the<00:01:31.480> patient<00:01:31.760> is<00:01:31.840> coming<00:01:32.080> in<00:01:32.200> for.

00:01:32.440 --> 00:01:36.200
We<00:01:32.560> treat<00:01:33.160> uh<00:01:33.360> everybody<00:01:34.320> ages<00:01:34.760> 12<00:01:35.160> and<00:01:35.320> up.

00:01:36.200 --> 00:01:44.240
Um<00:01:36.560> and<00:01:37.200> we<00:01:37.360> have<00:01:37.680> a<00:01:37.760> huge<00:01:38.560> population<00:01:39.160> of<00:01:39.240> patients<00:01:39.640> that<00:01:39.920> are<00:01:40.600> um<00:01:41.160> that<00:01:41.280> that<00:01:41.600> that<00:01:41.760> have<00:01:41.920> really<00:01:42.400> the<00:01:42.520> entire<00:01:42.840> spectrum<00:01:43.200> of<00:01:43.280> conditions.

00:01:44.240 --> 00:01:48.480
Um<00:01:44.360> and<00:01:44.480> so<00:01:44.640> we<00:01:45.480> are<00:01:45.720> really<00:01:45.960> priding<00:01:46.240> ourselves<00:01:46.560> on<00:01:46.640> being<00:01:46.840> a<00:01:46.880> customized<00:01:47.320> solution.

00:01:48.480 --> 00:01:51.480
<00:01:48.756> And<00:01:49.032> this<00:01:49.308> is<00:01:49.584> really<00:01:49.860> the<00:01:50.136> future<00:01:50.412> of<00:01:50.688> health<00:01:50.964> care,<00:01:51.240> right?

00:01:51.480 --> 00:01:59.280
Like<00:01:51.640> it's<00:01:51.840> here<00:01:52.160> now.<00:01:53.080> Um<00:01:53.760> which<00:01:54.120> is<00:01:54.240> pretty<00:01:54.400> beautiful<00:01:54.840> because<00:01:55.280> I<00:01:55.480> mean<00:01:56.120> like<00:01:56.600> 5<00:01:56.880> years<00:01:57.120> ago<00:01:57.360> even<00:01:57.720> I'd<00:01:57.880> go<00:01:58.040> to<00:01:58.120> the<00:01:58.200> doctor<00:01:58.480> and<00:01:58.560> I'm<00:01:58.600> like,<00:01:58.760> "Could<00:01:58.920> we<00:01:59.000> have<00:01:59.080> done

00:01:59.280 --> 00:02:01.680
this<00:01:59.496> over<00:01:59.712> Zoom?"<00:01:59.928> <00:02:00.144> Yeah.<00:02:00.360> <00:02:00.576> You<00:02:00.792> know<00:02:01.008> what<00:02:01.224> I<00:02:01.440> mean?

00:02:01.680 --> 00:02:04.880
Or<00:02:01.760> something<00:02:02.040> like<00:02:02.160> that.<00:02:02.840> And<00:02:02.960> now<00:02:03.120> you<00:02:03.280> can,<00:02:03.760> which<00:02:04.000> which<00:02:04.200> is<00:02:04.280> pretty<00:02:04.440> beautiful.

00:02:04.880 --> 00:02:08.479
What<00:02:05.320> what<00:02:05.560> inspired<00:02:06.200> you<00:02:06.720> to<00:02:06.880> start<00:02:07.200> Mochi?

00:02:08.479 --> 00:02:11.240
<00:02:08.611> Yeah.<00:02:08.742> <00:02:08.874> And<00:02:09.005> what<00:02:09.137> you're<00:02:09.268> doing.<00:02:09.399> Yeah,<00:02:09.531> give<00:02:09.663> me<00:02:09.794> your<00:02:09.926> give<00:02:10.057> me<00:02:10.189> your<00:02:10.320> backstory.

00:02:11.240 --> 00:02:18.840
<00:02:11.558> Yeah,<00:02:11.876> my<00:02:12.194> background<00:02:12.512> was<00:02:12.830> as<00:02:13.149> a<00:02:13.467> physician.<00:02:13.785> Um<00:02:14.103> I<00:02:14.421> did<00:02:14.739> a<00:02:15.057> lot<00:02:15.375> of<00:02:15.693> research<00:02:16.011> into<00:02:16.330> obesity<00:02:16.648> and<00:02:16.966> bariatric<00:02:17.284> care<00:02:17.602> and<00:02:17.920> management.

00:02:18.840 --> 00:02:22.480
Um<00:02:19.200> and<00:02:19.320> that<00:02:19.480> kind<00:02:19.720> of<00:02:19.840> spun<00:02:20.200> into<00:02:20.760> making<00:02:21.120> Mochi<00:02:21.560> as<00:02:21.840> a<00:02:21.920> company.

00:02:22.480 --> 00:02:30.520
I<00:02:22.600> think<00:02:22.920> our<00:02:23.080> focus<00:02:23.920> in<00:02:24.080> the<00:02:24.160> very<00:02:24.400> beginning<00:02:25.120> was<00:02:25.640> just<00:02:25.880> getting<00:02:26.120> access<00:02:26.640> and<00:02:26.920> awareness<00:02:27.480> to<00:02:27.840> all<00:02:27.959> of<00:02:28.040> these<00:02:28.200> medications<00:02:28.760> and<00:02:28.840> the<00:02:28.880> benefits<00:02:29.280> for<00:02:29.400> people.

00:02:30.520 --> 00:02:33.480
Um<00:02:30.680> and<00:02:30.800> it's<00:02:30.959> it's<00:02:31.080> just<00:02:31.240> grown<00:02:31.480> so<00:02:31.600> much<00:02:31.760> from<00:02:31.920> there.<00:02:32.160> So.

00:02:33.480 --> 00:02:38.200
<00:02:33.746> So,<00:02:34.011> tell<00:02:34.277> us<00:02:34.543> about<00:02:34.809> like<00:02:35.074> how<00:02:35.340> how<00:02:35.606> big<00:02:35.871> of<00:02:36.137> a<00:02:36.403> problem<00:02:36.669> is<00:02:36.934> this<00:02:37.200> obesity?

00:02:38.200 --> 00:02:44.120
And<00:02:38.480> and<00:02:38.560> a<00:02:38.600> lot<00:02:38.760> of<00:02:38.800> people<00:02:39.000> call<00:02:39.120> it<00:02:39.200> like<00:02:39.320> an<00:02:39.440> epidemic.<00:02:39.959> Like<00:02:40.560> give<00:02:40.760> us<00:02:40.880> a<00:02:40.959> sense<00:02:41.240> for<00:02:41.400> what<00:02:41.640> we're<00:02:42.160> what<00:02:42.320> you're<00:02:42.440> trying<00:02:42.680> to<00:02:42.760> tackle<00:02:43.160> and<00:02:43.280> what<00:02:43.600> what<00:02:43.800> what<00:02:43.959> are<00:02:44.040> you

00:02:44.120 --> 00:02:46.320
trying<00:02:44.360> to<00:02:44.440> solve?<00:02:44.840> Like<00:02:45.000> how<00:02:45.120> big<00:02:45.280> of<00:02:45.360> a<00:02:45.440> problem<00:02:45.880> is<00:02:46.000> this?

00:02:46.320 --> 00:02:49.680
<00:02:46.600> Yeah.<00:02:46.880> I<00:02:47.160> mean,<00:02:47.440> metabolic<00:02:47.720> health<00:02:48.000> impacts<00:02:48.280> everyone<00:02:48.560> in<00:02:48.840> the<00:02:49.120> country,<00:02:49.400> right?

00:02:49.680 --> 00:02:54.520
It's<00:02:50.320> It's<00:02:50.600> in<00:02:50.959> diabetes,<00:02:51.480> you<00:02:51.600> see<00:02:51.760> it<00:02:51.880> in<00:02:52.080> so<00:02:52.280> many<00:02:52.480> of<00:02:52.560> the<00:02:52.640> comorbidities<00:02:53.280> from<00:02:53.560> obesity.

00:02:54.520 --> 00:03:01.400
Um<00:02:54.959> it's<00:02:55.400> it's<00:02:55.600> a<00:02:55.680> huge<00:02:56.080> fraction<00:02:56.480> of<00:02:56.560> the<00:02:56.640> population<00:02:57.600> if<00:02:57.760> you<00:02:57.880> include<00:02:59.080> obesity<00:02:59.640> and<00:02:59.920> all<00:03:00.040> of<00:03:00.120> the<00:03:00.200> other<00:03:00.360> comorbidities<00:03:00.840> associated.

00:03:01.400 --> 00:03:09.680
So,<00:03:02.200> um<00:03:02.800> I<00:03:02.920> think<00:03:03.320> our<00:03:04.320> our<00:03:04.600> goal<00:03:05.000> was<00:03:05.160> really<00:03:05.360> to<00:03:05.560> bring<00:03:05.920> awareness<00:03:06.440> that<00:03:06.720> obesity<00:03:07.280> is<00:03:07.600> a<00:03:07.640> medical<00:03:08.000> condition<00:03:08.440> that<00:03:08.880> that<00:03:09.120> deserves<00:03:09.600> the

00:03:09.680 --> 00:03:14.400
same<00:03:10.000> type<00:03:10.239> of<00:03:10.360> treatment<00:03:10.680> and<00:03:10.800> care<00:03:11.680> as<00:03:12.160> any<00:03:12.440> other<00:03:12.640> medical<00:03:12.920> condition<00:03:13.239> that<00:03:13.360> you<00:03:13.440> go<00:03:13.560> to<00:03:13.640> the<00:03:13.680> doctor<00:03:14.000> with,<00:03:14.239> right?

00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:22.320
You<00:03:14.480> go<00:03:14.760> in<00:03:15.519> for<00:03:16.200> depression<00:03:16.880> or<00:03:17.000> any<00:03:17.239> other<00:03:17.400> condition,<00:03:17.920> your<00:03:18.040> provider<00:03:18.440> is<00:03:18.519> going<00:03:18.640> to<00:03:18.720> talk<00:03:18.880> to<00:03:18.959> you<00:03:19.000> about<00:03:19.160> medication<00:03:19.720> options<00:03:20.880> um<00:03:21.160> and<00:03:21.360> build<00:03:21.560> a<00:03:21.600> care<00:03:21.840> plan<00:03:22.040> around

00:03:22.320 --> 00:03:26.080
that.<00:03:22.440> And<00:03:22.560> I<00:03:22.600> think<00:03:22.800> that<00:03:23.000> was<00:03:23.200> not<00:03:23.480> the<00:03:23.560> case<00:03:23.840> for<00:03:23.959> obesity<00:03:24.360> a<00:03:24.440> couple<00:03:24.680> of<00:03:24.720> years<00:03:24.880> ago.

00:03:26.080 --> 00:03:31.280
<00:03:26.275> Uh<00:03:26.470> do<00:03:26.665> you<00:03:26.861> have<00:03:27.056> like<00:03:27.251> a<00:03:27.446> take<00:03:27.641> or<00:03:27.836> an<00:03:28.032> opinion<00:03:28.227> on<00:03:28.422> like<00:03:28.617> how<00:03:28.812> it<00:03:29.007> got<00:03:29.203> so<00:03:29.398> out<00:03:29.593> of<00:03:29.788> control,<00:03:29.983> uh<00:03:30.178> particularly<00:03:30.374> in<00:03:30.569> the<00:03:30.764> United<00:03:30.959> States?

00:03:31.280 --> 00:03:34.360
Like<00:03:32.000> diabetes<00:03:32.800> and<00:03:32.880> obesity<00:03:33.360> and<00:03:33.480> all<00:03:33.720> that<00:03:33.840> type<00:03:34.040> of<00:03:34.120> stuff.

00:03:34.360 --> 00:03:37.360
Like<00:03:34.880> why<00:03:35.400> how<00:03:35.519> did<00:03:35.720> we<00:03:35.840> get<00:03:36.080> here?

00:03:37.360 --> 00:03:39.480
<00:03:37.696> Yeah.<00:03:38.032> That's<00:03:38.368> a<00:03:38.704> hard<00:03:39.040> question.

00:03:39.480 --> 00:03:41.440
I<00:03:39.519> mean,<00:03:39.680> there's<00:03:39.920> so<00:03:40.239> many<00:03:40.560> factors,<00:03:41.160> right?

00:03:41.440 --> 00:03:50.040
Obesity<00:03:42.680> um<00:03:42.959> the<00:03:43.080> Obesity<00:03:43.400> Medicine<00:03:43.680> Association<00:03:44.320> has<00:03:44.760> a<00:03:44.840> diagram<00:03:45.440> that<00:03:45.640> has<00:03:46.400> a<00:03:46.480> circle<00:03:47.280> of<00:03:48.040> the<00:03:48.480> the<00:03:48.600> 12<00:03:49.000> or<00:03:49.080> 13<00:03:49.440> contributors

00:03:50.040 --> 00:03:57.960
to<00:03:50.160> obesity.<00:03:51.080> And<00:03:51.239> it<00:03:51.360> is<00:03:51.600> really<00:03:52.160> there's<00:03:52.480> so<00:03:52.640> many<00:03:52.880> socioeconomic<00:03:53.640> factors,<00:03:54.120> there's<00:03:54.320> behavioral<00:03:54.760> factors,<00:03:55.160> there's<00:03:55.360> genetic<00:03:55.760> factors,<00:03:56.280> there's<00:03:57.120> so<00:03:57.400> many<00:03:57.600> different

00:03:57.960 --> 00:04:05.760
things<00:03:58.320> about<00:03:58.760> our<00:03:58.880> diet<00:03:59.480> and<00:04:00.280> how<00:04:00.480> the<00:04:00.600> food<00:04:00.840> industry<00:04:01.200> is<00:04:01.280> incentivized<00:04:01.920> by<00:04:02.040> the<00:04:02.160> government<00:04:02.840> and<00:04:04.480> that<00:04:04.720> really<00:04:04.960> all<00:04:05.120> tie<00:04:05.320> into<00:04:05.520> this.

00:04:05.760 --> 00:04:12.480
And<00:04:05.840> I<00:04:05.880> think<00:04:06.080> it<00:04:06.160> was<00:04:06.240> just<00:04:06.440> a<00:04:06.480> perfect<00:04:06.880> recipe<00:04:07.280> for<00:04:07.840> for<00:04:08.760> really<00:04:09.080> really<00:04:09.440> skyrocketing<00:04:10.120> rates<00:04:10.280> of<00:04:10.400> obesity<00:04:10.760> over<00:04:10.920> the<00:04:11.000> past<00:04:11.240> couple<00:04:11.440> decades.

00:04:12.480 --> 00:04:15.400
<00:04:12.683> It<00:04:12.886> does<00:04:13.089> seem<00:04:13.292> like<00:04:13.495> the<00:04:13.698> socioeconomic<00:04:13.902> thing<00:04:14.105> is<00:04:14.308> not<00:04:14.511> talked<00:04:14.714> about<00:04:14.917> enough,<00:04:15.120> right?

00:04:15.400 --> 00:04:23.200
Like<00:04:15.600> if<00:04:15.959> if<00:04:16.280> you<00:04:16.720> are<00:04:17.959> like<00:04:18.160> I<00:04:18.200> grew<00:04:18.400> up<00:04:18.480> this<00:04:18.680> way,<00:04:18.920> like<00:04:19.200> McDonald's<00:04:19.959> for<00:04:20.160> us<00:04:20.480> was<00:04:20.640> like<00:04:20.760> going<00:04:21.040> out<00:04:21.160> to<00:04:21.320> eat<00:04:21.640> at<00:04:21.720> a<00:04:21.760> nice<00:04:22.040> restaurant,<00:04:22.720> right?

00:04:23.200 --> 00:04:31.160
Like<00:04:23.400> that's<00:04:23.640> like<00:04:23.960> what<00:04:24.080> it<00:04:24.240> was.<00:04:25.280> And<00:04:25.480> now<00:04:25.800> it's<00:04:26.000> like<00:04:27.200> and<00:04:27.360> it<00:04:27.480> was<00:04:27.680> then,<00:04:27.880> too,<00:04:28.120> but<00:04:28.280> like<00:04:28.480> it's<00:04:28.600> like<00:04:28.760> the<00:04:28.919> only<00:04:29.160> thing,<00:04:29.640> you<00:04:29.760> know,<00:04:29.919> like<00:04:30.240> like<00:04:30.480> like<00:04:30.720> some<00:04:30.880> people

00:04:31.160 --> 00:04:40.320
can't<00:04:31.440> afford.<00:04:31.919> And<00:04:32.040> if<00:04:32.120> that's<00:04:32.400> like<00:04:33.360> if<00:04:33.520> we're<00:04:33.640> if<00:04:33.800> we're<00:04:33.919> putting<00:04:34.280> people<00:04:34.600> in<00:04:34.720> that<00:04:34.919> type<00:04:35.120> of<00:04:35.240> position<00:04:35.800> where<00:04:36.320> like<00:04:36.680> the<00:04:37.400> most<00:04:37.640> affordable<00:04:38.240> option<00:04:38.800> is<00:04:40.160> not

00:04:40.320 --> 00:04:43.520
to<00:04:40.400> pick<00:04:40.560> on<00:04:40.680> McDonald's,<00:04:41.200> but<00:04:41.360> why<00:04:41.520> not?<00:04:41.840> They'll<00:04:42.040> they'll<00:04:42.240> be<00:04:42.360> fine.

00:04:43.520 --> 00:04:47.880
Like<00:04:43.880> like<00:04:44.120> McDonald's<00:04:44.680> like<00:04:45.480> what<00:04:46.000> are<00:04:46.040> we<00:04:46.160> doing?

00:04:47.880 --> 00:04:52.120
As<00:04:48.040> like<00:04:48.200> a<00:04:48.240> society,<00:04:48.600> that's<00:04:48.800> really<00:04:49.000> interesting.

00:04:52.120 --> 00:04:58.120
<00:04:52.412> I<00:04:52.704> think<00:04:52.996> I<00:04:53.288> mean,<00:04:53.580> there's<00:04:53.872> so<00:04:54.164> many<00:04:54.456> there's<00:04:54.748> so<00:04:55.040> many<00:04:55.332> things<00:04:55.624> that<00:04:55.916> drive<00:04:56.208> our<00:04:56.500> our<00:04:56.792> patterns<00:04:57.084> and<00:04:57.376> eating<00:04:57.668> habits,<00:04:57.960> right?

00:04:58.120 --> 00:05:07.360
And<00:04:58.200> I<00:04:58.280> think<00:04:58.520> so<00:04:58.640> much<00:04:58.880> of<00:04:58.960> that<00:04:59.160> comes<00:04:59.440> down<00:04:59.760> to<00:05:00.000> what<00:05:00.280> is<00:05:00.919> the<00:05:01.040> government<00:05:01.440> subsidizing<00:05:02.040> and<00:05:02.160> what<00:05:02.360> types<00:05:02.640> of<00:05:02.840> foods<00:05:03.680> are<00:05:04.240> are<00:05:04.360> being<00:05:04.600> allowed<00:05:04.840> by<00:05:04.960> the<00:05:05.120> FDA,<00:05:05.560> really.

00:05:07.360 --> 00:05:14.080
We<00:05:07.560> could<00:05:07.720> talk<00:05:07.840> about<00:05:08.040> this<00:05:08.200> for<00:05:08.320> ages,<00:05:08.680> but<00:05:08.840> I<00:05:08.880> think<00:05:09.120> that<00:05:09.240> the<00:05:09.640> there's<00:05:10.200> there's<00:05:10.880> a<00:05:10.960> lot<00:05:11.320> of<00:05:11.600> complicating<00:05:12.200> factors<00:05:12.560> that<00:05:12.760> led<00:05:13.040> to<00:05:13.200> obesity,<00:05:13.600> and<00:05:13.720> I<00:05:13.760> think<00:05:13.960> we're

00:05:14.080 --> 00:05:18.200
just<00:05:14.240> excited<00:05:14.640> to<00:05:14.800> start<00:05:15.600> working<00:05:15.960> on<00:05:16.080> a<00:05:16.120> solution<00:05:16.520> to<00:05:16.600> actually<00:05:16.840> reverse<00:05:17.200> this<00:05:17.360> trend,<00:05:17.760> right?

00:05:18.200 --> 00:05:26.919
Nationwide,<00:05:18.960> the<00:05:19.080> last<00:05:19.360> couple<00:05:19.600> of<00:05:19.680> years<00:05:20.080> is<00:05:20.120> the<00:05:20.200> first<00:05:20.520> time<00:05:20.800> that<00:05:21.400> has<00:05:22.240> declined<00:05:23.280> nationwide<00:05:24.680> and<00:05:24.800> we're<00:05:24.919> seeing<00:05:25.200> so<00:05:25.480> many<00:05:26.880> of

00:05:26.919 --> 00:05:30.640
the<00:05:27.960> the<00:05:28.120> fallout<00:05:28.640> from<00:05:28.840> this<00:05:29.320> trickling<00:05:29.720> down,<00:05:30.040> right?

00:05:30.640 --> 00:05:38.200
Rates<00:05:30.919> of<00:05:31.000> diabetes<00:05:31.480> diagnosis<00:05:32.040> are<00:05:32.120> going<00:05:32.240> to<00:05:32.280> go<00:05:32.400> down,<00:05:32.720> rates<00:05:33.000> of<00:05:33.520> osteoarthritis,<00:05:34.520> urinary<00:05:34.880> incontinence,<00:05:35.400> sleep<00:05:35.680> apnea,<00:05:36.600> I<00:05:36.640> mean,<00:05:36.840> so<00:05:37.160> so<00:05:37.320> many<00:05:37.600> other<00:05:37.760> things.

00:05:38.200 --> 00:05:42.919
So<00:05:38.555> <00:05:38.910> What<00:05:39.265> do<00:05:39.620> you<00:05:39.975> attribute<00:05:40.330> that<00:05:40.685> decline<00:05:41.040> to?

00:05:42.919 --> 00:05:46.440
<00:05:43.399> Um<00:05:43.879> awareness<00:05:44.360> of<00:05:44.840> these<00:05:45.320> medications.

00:05:46.440 --> 00:05:50.720
<00:05:46.675> Okay,<00:05:46.909> so<00:05:47.144> it<00:05:47.379> is<00:05:47.613> like<00:05:47.848> the<00:05:48.083> GLP-1s<00:05:48.317> that<00:05:48.552> are<00:05:48.787> really<00:05:49.021> kind<00:05:49.256> of<00:05:49.491> driving<00:05:49.725> that<00:05:49.960> decline.

00:05:50.720 --> 00:05:54.280
<00:05:51.065> Oh,<00:05:51.410> absolutely.<00:05:51.755> Yeah.<00:05:52.100> I<00:05:52.445> think<00:05:52.790> <00:05:53.135> Yeah,<00:05:53.480> sorry.

00:05:54.280 --> 00:05:57.560
<00:05:54.510> are<00:05:54.740> I<00:05:54.970> mean,<00:05:55.200> life-changing.<00:05:55.430> <00:05:55.660> Yeah,<00:05:55.890> it<00:05:56.120> seem<00:05:56.350> it<00:05:56.580> seems<00:05:56.810> that<00:05:57.040> way.

00:05:57.560 --> 00:06:02.240
What<00:05:57.720> do<00:05:57.800> you<00:05:57.920> make<00:05:58.160> of<00:05:58.320> like<00:05:58.600> the<00:05:59.600> uh<00:06:00.280> anti-GLP-1<00:06:01.840> stuff?

00:06:02.240 --> 00:06:06.040
Like<00:06:02.440> the<00:06:02.560> kind<00:06:02.800> of<00:06:02.960> like<00:06:03.400> um<00:06:04.360> And<00:06:04.400> there's<00:06:04.640> I<00:06:04.760> I<00:06:04.880> want<00:06:05.000> to<00:06:05.080> say<00:06:05.160> there's<00:06:05.360> a<00:06:05.400> lot,<00:06:05.840> right?

00:06:06.040 --> 00:06:11.400
It's<00:06:06.160> not<00:06:06.280> like<00:06:06.400> the<00:06:06.480> COVID<00:06:06.880> vaccine<00:06:07.560> or<00:06:07.720> anything<00:06:08.000> like<00:06:08.160> that<00:06:08.320> where<00:06:08.440> people<00:06:08.720> are<00:06:08.840> And<00:06:08.960> it's<00:06:09.080> also<00:06:09.320> like<00:06:09.480> not<00:06:09.760> being<00:06:09.960> mandated<00:06:10.440> by<00:06:10.520> the<00:06:10.600> government,<00:06:10.920> things<00:06:11.080> like<00:06:11.200> that.

00:06:11.400 --> 00:06:16.520
But<00:06:11.520> like<00:06:12.320> um<00:06:12.920> you<00:06:13.040> know,<00:06:13.200> like<00:06:13.680> what<00:06:13.800> do<00:06:13.880> you<00:06:13.960> make<00:06:14.200> of<00:06:14.320> like<00:06:14.600> those<00:06:15.000> who<00:06:15.160> are<00:06:15.280> like<00:06:15.480> against<00:06:15.960> these<00:06:16.160> drugs?

00:06:16.520 --> 00:06:19.240
Cuz<00:06:16.680> those<00:06:16.880> people<00:06:17.280> are<00:06:17.640> out<00:06:17.840> there,<00:06:18.040> too.

00:06:19.240 --> 00:06:27.560
<00:06:19.565> I<00:06:19.890> feel<00:06:20.214> like<00:06:20.539> it's<00:06:20.864> interesting<00:06:21.189> because<00:06:21.514> I've<00:06:21.838> never<00:06:22.163> seen<00:06:22.488> a<00:06:22.813> medication<00:06:23.138> that<00:06:23.462> has<00:06:23.787> so<00:06:24.112> much<00:06:24.437> vitriol<00:06:24.762> against<00:06:25.086> it<00:06:25.411> when<00:06:25.736> I<00:06:26.061> mean,<00:06:26.386> people<00:06:26.710> are<00:06:27.035> getting<00:06:27.360> this

00:06:27.560 --> 00:06:31.400
from<00:06:27.760> their<00:06:27.960> doctor.<00:06:28.560> They're<00:06:29.120> I<00:06:29.160> mean,<00:06:29.320> they're<00:06:29.480> working<00:06:29.840> with<00:06:30.080> them<00:06:30.400> to<00:06:30.520> make<00:06:30.760> a<00:06:30.840> care<00:06:31.040> plan.

00:06:31.400 --> 00:06:41.360
They're<00:06:32.120> I<00:06:32.160> mean,<00:06:32.360> also<00:06:32.640> doing<00:06:32.840> this<00:06:33.000> alongside<00:06:33.480> with<00:06:33.640> nutrition<00:06:34.240> and<00:06:34.400> fitness<00:06:34.880> and<00:06:35.800> um<00:06:36.480> there's<00:06:37.040> there's<00:06:37.280> this<00:06:37.520> narrative<00:06:38.240> of<00:06:38.400> people<00:06:38.760> using<00:06:39.080> this<00:06:40.120> and

00:06:41.360 --> 00:06:46.320
basically<00:06:42.200> without<00:06:42.680> any<00:06:42.840> kind<00:06:43.040> of<00:06:43.160> supervision<00:06:43.760> is<00:06:43.880> like<00:06:44.480> as<00:06:44.680> in<00:06:44.800> one<00:06:45.080> prescription.

00:06:46.320 --> 00:06:50.720
And<00:06:47.040> that's<00:06:47.440> just<00:06:47.680> not<00:06:47.919> the<00:06:48.040> vast<00:06:48.320> majority<00:06:48.800> of<00:06:48.919> people<00:06:49.680> that<00:06:49.880> we<00:06:50.040> see,<00:06:50.440> right?

00:06:50.720 --> 00:06:59.560
We<00:06:50.840> see<00:06:51.040> people<00:06:51.360> who<00:06:51.520> are<00:06:51.880> who<00:06:51.960> are<00:06:52.919> who<00:06:53.000> have<00:06:53.160> been<00:06:53.440> trying<00:06:54.000> to<00:06:54.200> lose<00:06:54.520> weight<00:06:55.320> and<00:06:55.919> address<00:06:56.400> all<00:06:56.520> of<00:06:56.600> these<00:06:56.800> problems<00:06:57.800> without<00:06:58.240> medication<00:06:58.840> management

00:06:59.560 --> 00:07:01.840
and<00:06:59.960> and<00:07:00.120> without<00:07:00.520> any<00:07:00.720> kind<00:07:00.960> of<00:07:01.080> intervention.

00:07:01.840 --> 00:07:04.200
And<00:07:02.680> they've<00:07:02.840> been<00:07:03.000> unable<00:07:03.480> to,<00:07:03.720> right?

00:07:04.200 --> 00:07:10.040
Every<00:07:04.520> year<00:07:05.520> the<00:07:05.800> average<00:07:06.160> person<00:07:06.440> who<00:07:06.560> was<00:07:06.680> obese<00:07:07.040> tries<00:07:07.440> to<00:07:07.560> lose<00:07:07.840> weight<00:07:08.200> at<00:07:08.360> least<00:07:08.680> once<00:07:08.919> per<00:07:09.120> year,<00:07:09.840> right?

00:07:10.040 --> 00:07:18.200
It's<00:07:10.200> not<00:07:10.440> for<00:07:10.600> lack<00:07:10.840> of<00:07:11.000> trying.<00:07:11.760> It's<00:07:12.000> really<00:07:12.720> it's<00:07:13.320> that<00:07:13.520> there's<00:07:13.720> a<00:07:13.800> lot<00:07:14.000> of<00:07:14.120> other<00:07:14.360> factors<00:07:14.840> happening<00:07:15.360> that<00:07:15.720> are<00:07:15.840> causing<00:07:16.240> this<00:07:16.560> and<00:07:16.720> it's<00:07:17.040> it's<00:07:17.360> naive<00:07:17.840> to<00:07:17.960> say

00:07:18.200 --> 00:07:21.760
like<00:07:19.320> oh,<00:07:19.520> like<00:07:19.760> they<00:07:19.880> shouldn't<00:07:20.160> be<00:07:20.280> using<00:07:20.520> obesity<00:07:20.960> medication,<00:07:21.520> right?

00:07:21.760 --> 00:07:26.680
Like<00:07:21.880> you<00:07:21.960> would<00:07:22.080> never<00:07:22.320> see<00:07:22.440> this<00:07:22.640> for<00:07:22.760> something<00:07:23.080> like<00:07:23.280> depression<00:07:23.720> medications<00:07:24.200> or<00:07:24.280> anxiety<00:07:24.640> medications<00:07:25.320> or<00:07:25.440> like<00:07:25.640> cholesterol<00:07:26.040> medications.

00:07:26.680 --> 00:07:30.600
Like<00:07:27.720> a<00:07:27.840> medication<00:07:28.360> can<00:07:28.640> be<00:07:28.760> useful,<00:07:29.360> so.

00:07:30.600 --> 00:07:37.240
<00:07:30.822> Yeah,<00:07:31.044> right.<00:07:31.266> And<00:07:31.488> you<00:07:31.710> know,<00:07:31.932> a<00:07:32.154> lot<00:07:32.377> of<00:07:32.599> a<00:07:32.821> lot<00:07:33.043> of<00:07:33.265> people<00:07:33.487> say<00:07:33.709> it's<00:07:33.931> like<00:07:34.153> cheating<00:07:34.375> or<00:07:34.597> anything<00:07:34.819> like<00:07:35.041> that,<00:07:35.263> but<00:07:35.486> like<00:07:35.708> like<00:07:35.930> like<00:07:36.152> you<00:07:36.374> said,<00:07:36.596> it's<00:07:36.818> like<00:07:37.040> it's

00:07:37.240 --> 00:07:41.280
it's<00:07:37.578> bigger<00:07:37.916> than<00:07:38.255> like<00:07:38.593> one<00:07:38.931> thing.<00:07:39.269> It's<00:07:39.607> like<00:07:39.945> an<00:07:40.284> environmental<00:07:40.622> <00:07:40.960> Yeah.

It's<00:09:25.440> like,<00:09:25.640> "Hey,<00:09:25.800> we're<00:09:25.920> going<00:09:26.040> to<00:09:26.080> give<00:09:26.240> you<00:09:26.320> this<00:09:26.480> ingredient,<00:09:26.960> but<00:09:27.080> you<00:09:27.200> also<00:09:27.440> need<00:09:27.640> these<00:09:27.839> other<00:09:29.040> two<00:09:29.240> ingredients<00:09:29.960> or<00:09:30.040> whatever<00:09:30.600> specific<00:09:31.200> to<00:09:31.360> you."

00:09:32.080 --> 00:09:36.280
So<00:09:32.360> in<00:09:32.600> in<00:09:32.720> a<00:09:32.800> way<00:09:33.040> to<00:09:33.200> me,<00:09:33.480> how<00:09:33.720> I<00:09:33.839> hear<00:09:34.040> that<00:09:34.160> and<00:09:34.280> again,<00:09:34.520> I<00:09:34.760> I<00:09:34.800> don't<00:09:35.000> I<00:09:35.080> a<00:09:35.640> dog<00:09:35.920> in<00:09:36.000> the<00:09:36.080> fight.

00:09:36.280 --> 00:09:38.440
I<00:09:36.320> don't<00:09:36.440> know,<00:09:36.880> you<00:09:37.000> know,<00:09:37.200> I<00:09:37.240> don't<00:09:37.480> know<00:09:37.560> if<00:09:37.680> this<00:09:37.840> is<00:09:37.920> controversial<00:09:38.360> too.

00:09:38.440 --> 00:09:47.400
I<00:09:38.480> have<00:09:38.560> no<00:09:38.680> idea.<00:09:39.360> But<00:09:39.480> like<00:09:39.640> the<00:09:39.760> way<00:09:40.000> I<00:09:40.120> hear<00:09:40.360> that<00:09:40.760> is<00:09:41.240> like<00:09:42.240> it's<00:09:42.400> more<00:09:42.880> personalized<00:09:43.840> and<00:09:43.920> it's<00:09:44.080> more<00:09:44.320> tailored<00:09:44.880> rather<00:09:45.160> than<00:09:45.320> just<00:09:45.560> kind<00:09:45.720> of<00:09:45.840> off-the-shelf.

00:09:47.400 --> 00:09:51.680
<00:09:47.712> It<00:09:48.024> is<00:09:48.336> like<00:09:48.648> truly<00:09:48.960> the<00:09:49.272> the<00:09:49.584> future<00:09:49.896> of<00:09:50.208> personalized<00:09:50.520> medication.

00:09:51.680 --> 00:09:53.840
Right?<00:09:51.920> Is<00:09:52.040> that<00:09:52.240> you<00:09:52.360> could<00:09:52.520> do<00:09:52.680> this<00:09:52.840> for<00:09:53.080> any<00:09:53.320> medication.

00:09:53.840 --> 00:10:01.520
If<00:09:53.960> you<00:09:54.080> have<00:09:54.320> a<00:09:54.400> thyroid<00:09:54.760> medication<00:09:55.360> and<00:09:55.560> the<00:09:55.640> dose<00:09:55.920> is<00:09:56.080> too<00:09:56.280> high<00:09:56.560> and<00:09:56.680> the<00:09:56.760> commercially<00:09:57.200> available<00:09:57.560> forms<00:09:58.000> are<00:09:58.880> 25<00:09:59.440> micrograms<00:09:59.960> and<00:10:00.080> 50<00:10:00.400> micrograms,<00:10:01.000> you<00:10:01.120> could

00:10:01.520 --> 00:10:05.400
you<00:10:01.640> could<00:10:01.800> take<00:10:02.040> a<00:10:02.080> dose<00:10:02.320> that's<00:10:02.480> in<00:10:02.560> between<00:10:02.920> those<00:10:03.200> and<00:10:03.360> have<00:10:04.280> the<00:10:04.400> right<00:10:04.560> medication<00:10:05.040> for<00:10:05.200> you.

00:10:05.400 --> 00:10:09.560
You<00:10:05.520> could<00:10:05.640> do<00:10:05.760> this<00:10:05.960> for<00:10:06.200> birth<00:10:06.480> controls.<00:10:06.920> You<00:10:07.000> could<00:10:07.120> do<00:10:07.240> this<00:10:07.400> for<00:10:08.200> so<00:10:08.360> many<00:10:08.520> different<00:10:08.800> types<00:10:08.960> of<00:10:09.080> things,<00:10:09.400> right?

00:10:09.560 --> 00:10:13.080
It<00:10:09.680> is<00:10:09.800> really<00:10:10.000> about<00:10:10.280> that<00:10:10.480> level<00:10:10.840> of<00:10:11.520> customization<00:10:12.280> for<00:10:12.480> patients.

00:10:13.080 --> 00:10:17.320
So.<00:10:13.406> <00:10:13.731> How<00:10:14.057> come<00:10:14.383> drugs<00:10:14.709> are<00:10:15.034> so<00:10:15.360> expensive?

00:10:17.320 --> 00:10:23.080
<00:10:17.620> That.<00:10:17.920> <00:10:18.220> [laughter]<00:10:18.520> <00:10:18.820> That's<00:10:19.120> a<00:10:19.420> whole<00:10:19.720> separate<00:10:20.020> a<00:10:20.320> whole<00:10:20.620> other<00:10:20.920> podcast.

00:10:23.080 --> 00:10:30.600
No,<00:10:23.600> I<00:10:23.800> I<00:10:23.960> think<00:10:25.440> um<00:10:27.760> I<00:10:27.800> mean,<00:10:28.000> there's<00:10:28.240> so<00:10:28.400> many<00:10:28.640> different<00:10:28.960> people<00:10:29.240> in<00:10:29.360> the<00:10:29.440> food<00:10:29.640> chain.

00:10:30.600 --> 00:10:36.040
<00:10:30.803> Mhm.<00:10:31.006> <00:10:31.210> Right?<00:10:31.413> They're<00:10:31.616> manufactured<00:10:31.819> in<00:10:32.022> one<00:10:32.226> place<00:10:32.429> and<00:10:32.632> then<00:10:32.835> they're<00:10:33.038> sold<00:10:33.242> to<00:10:33.445> another<00:10:33.648> place<00:10:33.851> and<00:10:34.054> then<00:10:34.258> there's<00:10:34.461> a<00:10:34.664> whole<00:10:34.867> layer<00:10:35.070> of<00:10:35.274> big<00:10:35.477> pharma<00:10:35.680> marketing

00:10:36.040 --> 00:10:43.680
that's<00:10:36.240> happening<00:10:37.120> and<00:10:37.240> then<00:10:37.400> they're<00:10:37.520> sold<00:10:37.920> to<00:10:38.160> PBMs<00:10:39.120> and<00:10:39.440> then<00:10:39.720> retail<00:10:40.080> pharmacies<00:10:40.920> and<00:10:41.360> every<00:10:41.600> piece<00:10:41.880> of<00:10:41.960> the<00:10:42.040> pie<00:10:42.320> wants<00:10:42.600> a<00:10:42.680> cut.

00:10:43.680 --> 00:10:48.560
And<00:10:44.520> ultimately<00:10:45.040> the<00:10:45.240> end<00:10:45.800> consumer<00:10:46.360> isn't<00:10:46.800> paying<00:10:47.200> for<00:10:47.320> most<00:10:47.640> of<00:10:47.720> this.

00:10:48.560 --> 00:10:56.560
Um<00:10:48.839> it's<00:10:49.120> their<00:10:49.520> insurance<00:10:49.960> company<00:10:50.360> which<00:10:50.560> is<00:10:50.680> their<00:10:50.800> employer<00:10:51.320> which<00:10:51.520> is<00:10:51.640> really<00:10:51.839> just<00:10:52.760> weighing<00:10:53.080> down<00:10:53.760> all<00:10:54.000> of<00:10:54.240> I<00:10:54.320> mean,<00:10:54.839> everybody's<00:10:55.320> income<00:10:55.680> in<00:10:55.800> America<00:10:56.280> to<00:10:56.400> say

00:10:56.560 --> 00:11:00.160
That<00:10:56.720> a<00:10:56.760> huge<00:10:57.040> fraction<00:10:57.400> of<00:10:57.480> this<00:10:57.640> is<00:10:57.760> just<00:10:57.960> going<00:10:58.200> to<00:10:58.280> cover<00:10:58.560> for<00:10:59.080> required<00:10:59.520> health<00:10:59.680> insurance.

00:11:00.160 --> 00:11:09.839
So,<00:11:01.000> I<00:11:01.040> think<00:11:01.240> that's<00:11:01.400> one<00:11:01.520> of<00:11:01.560> the<00:11:01.640> more<00:11:01.839> interesting<00:11:02.200> arguments<00:11:02.600> I've<00:11:02.720> seen<00:11:03.040> from<00:11:03.200> people<00:11:03.480> who,<00:11:04.400> um,<00:11:05.000> are<00:11:06.320> critical<00:11:06.800> of,<00:11:07.600> who<00:11:07.760> are<00:11:07.880> really<00:11:08.120> anti-GLP-1,<00:11:09.600> right?

00:11:09.839 --> 00:11:16.640
Is<00:11:10.000> basically<00:11:10.440> it<00:11:10.600> is,<00:11:10.960> it<00:11:11.120> is<00:11:11.240> effectively<00:11:11.760> increasing<00:11:12.240> the<00:11:12.320> cost<00:11:12.600> of<00:11:12.720> everyone's<00:11:13.160> health<00:11:13.360> insurance<00:11:13.760> to<00:11:13.880> have<00:11:14.120> these<00:11:14.320> drugs<00:11:14.680> be<00:11:14.839> covered,<00:11:15.880> um,<00:11:16.040> because<00:11:16.400> they're<00:11:16.520> so

00:11:16.640 --> 00:11:21.240
expensive<00:11:17.040> and<00:11:17.120> because<00:11:17.360> there's<00:11:17.520> so<00:11:17.680> many<00:11:17.839> people<00:11:18.120> that<00:11:18.240> are<00:11:18.360> eligible<00:11:18.839> and<00:11:18.960> meet<00:11:19.120> criteria<00:11:19.560> for<00:11:19.720> them.

00:11:21.240 --> 00:11:27.480
<00:11:21.506> Yeah.<00:11:21.772> Yeah,<00:11:22.038> that<00:11:22.304> makes<00:11:22.570> sense.<00:11:22.836> Uh,<00:11:23.102> what<00:11:23.368> does<00:11:23.634> a<00:11:23.900> typical<00:11:24.166> day<00:11:24.432> look<00:11:24.698> like<00:11:24.964> for<00:11:25.230> you<00:11:25.496> as<00:11:25.762> CEO<00:11:26.028> of<00:11:26.294> this<00:11:26.560> company?

00:11:27.480 --> 00:11:31.480
<00:11:28.080> Yeah.<00:11:28.680> Um,<00:11:29.280> it<00:11:29.880> changes<00:11:30.480> every<00:11:31.080> day.

00:11:31.480 --> 00:11:36.160
Sometimes<00:11:32.000> I<00:11:32.120> am<00:11:32.400> at<00:11:32.760> conferences,<00:11:33.360> sometimes<00:11:33.760> I<00:11:33.840> am<00:11:33.920> meeting<00:11:34.400> with<00:11:34.720> partners<00:11:35.120> and<00:11:35.240> vendors.

00:11:36.160 --> 00:11:44.320
Um,<00:11:36.760> a<00:11:36.840> lot<00:11:37.120> of<00:11:37.240> my<00:11:37.360> day-to-day<00:11:37.800> is<00:11:37.960> focused<00:11:38.320> on<00:11:38.720> the<00:11:38.800> strategy<00:11:39.240> and<00:11:39.360> the<00:11:39.440> mission,<00:11:40.520> um,<00:11:40.960> and<00:11:41.080> raising<00:11:41.400> awareness<00:11:41.800> about<00:11:42.000> what<00:11:42.160> we<00:11:42.280> are<00:11:42.360> doing<00:11:42.880> and<00:11:43.520> building<00:11:43.920> out<00:11:44.200> the

00:11:44.320 --> 00:11:50.480
good<00:11:44.621> product.<00:11:44.922> So.<00:11:45.224> <00:11:45.525> So,<00:11:45.826> uh,<00:11:46.127> how<00:11:46.428> long<00:11:46.729> have<00:11:47.031> you<00:11:47.332> been,<00:11:47.633> how<00:11:47.934> long<00:11:48.235> have<00:11:48.536> you<00:11:48.838> been<00:11:49.139> doing<00:11:49.440> this?

00:11:50.480 --> 00:11:53.480
<00:11:50.713> Three,<00:11:50.947> a<00:11:51.180> little<00:11:51.413> over<00:11:51.647> three<00:11:51.880> years.<00:11:52.113> <00:11:52.347> How<00:11:52.580> did<00:11:52.813> you<00:11:53.047> fund<00:11:53.280> it?

00:11:53.480 --> 00:11:57.280
Did<00:11:53.720> you<00:11:53.840> raise<00:11:54.080> VC,<00:11:54.920> privately<00:11:55.440> funded,<00:11:55.720> like<00:11:56.160> give<00:11:56.240> me<00:11:56.280> a<00:11:56.320> sense<00:11:56.520> for<00:11:56.600> how<00:11:56.680> you<00:11:57.000> funded<00:11:57.120> it?

00:11:57.280 --> 00:12:04.760
<00:11:57.581> Funding<00:11:57.882> in<00:11:58.183> March<00:11:58.483> of<00:11:58.784> 2022<00:11:59.085> and<00:11:59.386> then<00:11:59.687> we<00:11:59.988> were<00:12:00.289> profitable<00:12:00.590> by<00:12:00.890> late<00:12:01.191> 2022<00:12:01.492> and<00:12:01.793> have<00:12:02.094> been<00:12:02.395> running<00:12:02.696> off<00:12:02.997> of<00:12:03.297> the<00:12:03.598> existing<00:12:03.899> cash<00:12:04.200> flows.

00:12:04.760 --> 00:12:13.920
So.<00:12:05.079> <00:12:05.397> So,<00:12:05.716> what,<00:12:06.034> give<00:12:06.353> me<00:12:06.671> a<00:12:06.990> sense<00:12:07.308> for<00:12:07.627> like<00:12:07.945> your<00:12:08.264> competitive<00:12:08.582> landscape<00:12:08.901> and<00:12:09.219> who,<00:12:09.538> who<00:12:09.856> you're<00:12:10.175> kind<00:12:10.493> of<00:12:10.812> targeting<00:12:11.130> versus<00:12:11.449> maybe,<00:12:11.767> I<00:12:12.086> mean,<00:12:12.404> I<00:12:12.723> don't<00:12:13.041> even,<00:12:13.360> um,

00:12:13.920 --> 00:12:20.280
I<00:12:14.166> won't<00:12:14.413> say<00:12:14.659> any<00:12:14.906> of<00:12:15.152> your<00:12:15.398> competitors'<00:12:15.645> names<00:12:15.891> or<00:12:16.138> whatever,<00:12:16.384> but<00:12:16.630> you<00:12:16.877> know,<00:12:17.123> like,<00:12:17.370> uh,<00:12:17.616> give<00:12:17.862> me<00:12:18.109> a<00:12:18.355> sense<00:12:18.602> for<00:12:18.848> like<00:12:19.094> what's<00:12:19.341> the<00:12:19.587> landscape<00:12:19.834> and<00:12:20.080> how

00:12:20.280 --> 00:12:24.240
are<00:12:20.440> you<00:12:20.680> targeting,<00:12:21.760> uh,<00:12:21.840> individuals<00:12:22.480> and<00:12:22.560> patients<00:12:22.960> differently?

00:12:24.240 --> 00:12:28.640
<00:12:24.553> Yeah.<00:12:24.865> Um,<00:12:25.178> there's<00:12:25.491> a<00:12:25.804> lot<00:12:26.116> of<00:12:26.429> players<00:12:26.742> in<00:12:27.055> the<00:12:27.367> GLP-1<00:12:27.680> space.

00:12:28.640 --> 00:12:38.000
There's<00:12:28.800> a<00:12:28.840> lot<00:12:29.080> of<00:12:29.200> people<00:12:29.480> who<00:12:29.760> are<00:12:30.520> wanting<00:12:30.960> to<00:12:31.040> be<00:12:31.200> vertically<00:12:31.640> integrated<00:12:32.400> and<00:12:32.680> do<00:12:32.960> and<00:12:33.160> have<00:12:33.520> this<00:12:34.080> model<00:12:34.839> of,<00:12:35.839> um,<00:12:36.080> doing<00:12:36.400> everything<00:12:36.920> in-house.

00:12:38.000 --> 00:12:43.080
Our<00:12:38.200> model<00:12:38.520> is<00:12:38.640> very<00:12:38.880> different.<00:12:39.520> I<00:12:39.640> think<00:12:39.880> of<00:12:40.000> it<00:12:40.200> as<00:12:40.360> like<00:12:41.040> DoorDash<00:12:41.600> versus<00:12:42.000> like<00:12:42.200> Domino's,<00:12:42.800> right?

00:12:43.080 --> 00:12:48.400
Like<00:12:43.240> you,<00:12:43.480> if<00:12:43.640> you<00:12:43.720> go<00:12:43.839> to<00:12:43.960> Domino's,<00:12:44.440> you<00:12:44.560> get<00:12:44.720> a<00:12:44.760> pizza<00:12:45.120> and<00:12:45.240> you<00:12:45.320> know<00:12:45.480> what<00:12:45.600> your<00:12:45.720> delivery<00:12:46.080> is<00:12:46.280> and<00:12:46.400> you<00:12:46.520> do<00:12:46.680> the<00:12:46.760> whole<00:12:46.920> process<00:12:47.320> within<00:12:47.600> that<00:12:47.760> website<00:12:48.120> and<00:12:48.240> that

00:12:48.400 --> 00:12:51.200
app.<00:12:49.360> DoorDash<00:12:49.720> is<00:12:49.800> a<00:12:49.839> marketplace,<00:12:50.640> right?

00:12:51.200 --> 00:12:53.480
And<00:12:51.320> that's,<00:12:51.640> that's<00:12:51.880> kind<00:12:52.000> of<00:12:52.120> how<00:12:52.440> we<00:12:52.680> see<00:12:52.960> ourselves.

00:12:53.480 --> 00:13:00.080
So,<00:12:53.560> we<00:12:53.839> have<00:12:54.600> a<00:12:54.680> pharmacy<00:12:55.080> marketplace<00:12:55.560> and<00:12:55.680> a<00:12:55.720> provider<00:12:56.080> marketplace<00:12:56.600> where<00:12:56.720> people<00:12:57.000> can<00:12:57.520> pick<00:12:57.720> and<00:12:57.880> choose<00:12:58.480> what<00:12:58.640> types<00:12:58.839> of<00:12:58.920> providers<00:12:59.320> they're<00:12:59.440> looking<00:12:59.720> for<00:13:00.000> or

00:13:00.080 --> 00:13:06.200
what<00:13:00.200> other<00:13:00.320> types<00:13:00.520> of<00:13:00.600> care<00:13:00.800> they're<00:13:00.920> looking<00:13:01.200> to<00:13:01.280> access.<00:13:02.240> Um,<00:13:02.640> same<00:13:02.839> thing<00:13:03.000> for<00:13:03.120> nutritionists<00:13:04.120> and<00:13:04.240> then<00:13:04.520> for<00:13:04.680> pharmacies,<00:13:05.120> they<00:13:05.240> can<00:13:05.400> pick<00:13:05.600> and<00:13:05.720> choose<00:13:05.960> between

00:13:06.200 --> 00:13:08.280
different<00:13:06.440> types<00:13:06.640> of<00:13:06.720> pharmacies<00:13:07.200> that<00:13:07.320> they<00:13:07.440> want<00:13:07.600> to<00:13:07.680> work<00:13:07.839> with.

00:13:08.280 --> 00:13:11.160
So,<00:13:08.680> and<00:13:08.800> that<00:13:08.920> includes<00:13:09.560> pharmacies<00:13:10.000> for<00:13:10.120> really<00:13:10.360> any<00:13:10.520> medications.

00:13:11.160 --> 00:13:17.640
So.<00:13:12.520> <00:13:12.640> How<00:13:12.839> have<00:13:12.960> you<00:13:13.200> thought<00:13:13.400> about<00:13:13.720> building<00:13:13.880> your<00:13:14.360> team<00:13:14.480> and<00:13:14.560> the<00:13:15.240> culture<00:13:15.720> and<00:13:15.839> are<00:13:15.920> you<00:13:16.200> going<00:13:16.240> in-person,<00:13:16.720> remote,<00:13:17.160> hybrid?

00:13:17.640 --> 00:13:22.440
How<00:13:17.906> have<00:13:18.171> you<00:13:18.437> thought<00:13:18.703> about<00:13:18.969> that?<00:13:19.234> <00:13:19.500> Yeah.<00:13:19.766> We<00:13:20.031> are<00:13:20.297> fully<00:13:20.563> in-person<00:13:20.829> in<00:13:21.094> San<00:13:21.360> Francisco.

00:13:22.440 --> 00:13:26.480
Um,<00:13:23.320> I<00:13:23.440> think,<00:13:24.800> I<00:13:24.839> think<00:13:25.040> in-person<00:13:25.400> is<00:13:25.520> really<00:13:25.680> important.

00:13:26.480 --> 00:13:34.200
I<00:13:26.560> think<00:13:26.760> in-person,<00:13:27.160> especially<00:13:27.520> in<00:13:27.600> the<00:13:27.680> early<00:13:27.920> stages,<00:13:28.320> is<00:13:28.560> so,<00:13:28.800> so<00:13:29.000> critical<00:13:29.360> for<00:13:29.480> culture<00:13:30.280> and<00:13:30.840> building<00:13:31.200> this<00:13:31.360> mentality<00:13:31.960> of<00:13:32.600> being<00:13:32.880> very,<00:13:33.120> very<00:13:33.320> mission-oriented

00:13:34.200 --> 00:13:42.320
and<00:13:34.509> also<00:13:34.818> wanting<00:13:35.128> to<00:13:35.437> ship<00:13:35.746> fast.<00:13:36.055> So.<00:13:36.365> <00:13:36.674> Can<00:13:36.983> you<00:13:37.292> give<00:13:37.602> us<00:13:37.911> a<00:13:38.220> sense<00:13:38.529> that<00:13:38.838> our<00:13:39.148> audience,<00:13:39.457> obviously<00:13:39.766> ceo.com<00:13:40.075> is<00:13:40.385> like<00:13:40.694> global<00:13:41.003> and<00:13:41.312> I'm,<00:13:41.622> I'm<00:13:41.931> talking<00:13:42.240> to

00:13:42.320 --> 00:13:49.560
you<00:13:42.567> from<00:13:42.814> Utah.<00:13:43.061> <00:13:43.308> Yeah.<00:13:43.554> <00:13:43.801> Which<00:13:44.048> has<00:13:44.295> a<00:13:44.542> kind<00:13:44.789> of<00:13:45.036> a,<00:13:45.283> a<00:13:45.530> strong<00:13:45.777> tech<00:13:46.023> scene<00:13:46.270> and<00:13:46.517> you<00:13:46.764> know,<00:13:47.011> kind<00:13:47.258> of<00:13:47.505> has<00:13:47.752> the<00:13:47.999> nickname<00:13:48.246> Silicon<00:13:48.492> Slopes,<00:13:48.739> but<00:13:48.986> I<00:13:49.233> don't<00:13:49.480> know

00:13:49.560 --> 00:13:54.000
that<00:13:49.720> people<00:13:50.000> realize<00:13:50.400> like<00:13:50.600> Silicon<00:13:50.920> Valley<00:13:51.200> still<00:13:51.520> is<00:13:52.040> the<00:13:52.160> Mecca<00:13:52.760> of<00:13:52.920> starting<00:13:53.320> companies<00:13:53.720> and<00:13:53.800> stuff.

00:13:54.000 --> 00:14:03.040
So<00:13:54.120> can<00:13:54.280> you,<00:13:54.520> can<00:13:54.600> you<00:13:54.640> give<00:13:54.760> us<00:13:54.880> a<00:13:55.160> like<00:13:55.240> the<00:13:56.040> advantages<00:13:57.280> of<00:13:57.640> starting<00:13:58.080> in<00:13:58.200> San<00:13:58.360> Francisco,<00:13:58.840> what<00:13:59.000> you<00:13:59.120> like<00:13:59.360> about<00:13:59.640> it<00:13:59.680> and<00:13:59.800> maybe<00:14:00.280> what<00:14:00.600> you<00:14:00.720> think<00:14:00.960> could<00:14:01.120> be<00:14:01.200> improved?

00:14:03.040 --> 00:14:09.680
<00:14:03.505> Um,<00:14:03.969> I<00:14:04.434> think<00:14:04.898> the<00:14:05.363> biggest<00:14:05.828> difference<00:14:06.292> is<00:14:06.757> I<00:14:07.222> was<00:14:07.686> in<00:14:08.151> Seattle<00:14:08.615> before<00:14:09.080> this.

00:14:09.680 --> 00:14:14.080
The,<00:14:11.320> it's<00:14:11.560> very<00:14:11.840> normal<00:14:12.360> to<00:14:12.520> work<00:14:12.720> at<00:14:12.800> a<00:14:12.840> startup.

00:14:14.080 --> 00:14:22.600
<00:14:14.420> Mhm.<00:14:14.760> <00:14:15.100> It's<00:14:15.440> extremely,<00:14:15.780> like<00:14:16.120> everybody<00:14:16.460> that<00:14:16.800> you<00:14:17.140> meet<00:14:17.480> is<00:14:17.820> at<00:14:18.160> a<00:14:18.500> startup<00:14:18.840> and<00:14:19.180> there's<00:14:19.520> different<00:14:19.860> stages<00:14:20.200> of<00:14:20.540> startups,<00:14:20.880> but<00:14:21.220> basically<00:14:21.560> everybody<00:14:21.900> is,<00:14:22.240> is

00:14:22.600 --> 00:14:26.600
wanting<00:14:22.960> to<00:14:23.160> work<00:14:23.520> in<00:14:23.800> startups<00:14:24.760> and<00:14:25.120> likes<00:14:25.280> that<00:14:25.440> culture<00:14:25.760> and<00:14:25.880> likes<00:14:26.040> that<00:14:26.160> environment.

00:14:26.600 --> 00:14:34.680
And<00:14:26.720> so<00:14:26.800> I<00:14:26.880> think<00:14:27.080> from<00:14:27.240> a<00:14:27.320> recruiting<00:14:27.880> perspective,<00:14:29.240> um,<00:14:29.720> it's<00:14:29.960> just,<00:14:30.440> it's<00:14:30.640> a<00:14:30.720> very,<00:14:32.520> it's<00:14:32.680> very<00:14:32.880> easy<00:14:33.080> to<00:14:33.160> find<00:14:33.360> other<00:14:33.520> people<00:14:33.720> who<00:14:33.839> want<00:14:34.040> to<00:14:34.080> work<00:14:34.200> at<00:14:34.280> startups<00:14:34.600> and

00:14:34.680 --> 00:14:43.200
they<00:14:34.760> kind<00:14:34.920> of<00:14:35.040> know<00:14:35.160> how<00:14:35.280> this<00:14:35.480> works.<00:14:36.480> Um,<00:14:36.880> and<00:14:37.120> from<00:14:37.680> a,<00:14:38.880> from<00:14:39.000> a<00:14:39.080> perspective<00:14:39.640> of<00:14:39.880> like<00:14:40.440> who<00:14:40.760> everybody<00:14:41.200> here<00:14:41.600> sees<00:14:41.920> outside<00:14:42.280> of<00:14:42.360> work,<00:14:42.760> everybody

00:14:43.200 --> 00:14:48.560
that<00:14:43.320> they<00:14:43.440> talk<00:14:43.640> to<00:14:43.800> is<00:14:43.920> in<00:14:44.040> startups<00:14:44.440> and<00:14:44.560> I<00:14:44.600> think<00:14:44.800> you<00:14:44.880> just<00:14:45.040> get<00:14:45.160> so<00:14:45.280> much<00:14:45.480> more<00:14:45.600> awareness<00:14:46.080> of<00:14:46.200> what's<00:14:46.360> happening<00:14:46.720> in<00:14:46.800> the<00:14:46.839> space.

00:14:48.560 --> 00:14:54.760
<00:14:48.762> What<00:14:48.964> do<00:14:49.165> you<00:14:49.367> read?<00:14:49.569> Give<00:14:49.771> us<00:14:49.973> a<00:14:50.175> sense<00:14:50.376> for<00:14:50.578> what<00:14:50.780> you<00:14:50.982> read<00:14:51.184> and<00:14:51.385> what<00:14:51.587> reading<00:14:51.789> recommendations<00:14:51.991> do<00:14:52.193> you<00:14:52.395> have<00:14:52.596> for<00:14:52.798> other<00:14:53.000> CEOs?

00:15:05.360 --> 00:15:13.160
Everybody<00:15:05.720> reads,<00:15:06.000> Everybody<00:15:06.280> in<00:15:06.400> healthcare<00:15:07.360> reads,<00:15:08.120> um,<00:15:09.280> the<00:15:09.360> ones<00:15:09.720> from,<00:15:10.920> uh,<00:15:11.000> Teneha,<00:15:11.360> the<00:15:11.480> guy<00:15:11.680> from<00:15:11.920> General<00:15:12.160> Catalyst.

00:15:17.560 --> 00:15:26.280
Um,<00:15:18.520> I<00:15:18.600> read<00:15:18.760> a<00:15:18.800> lot<00:15:18.960> of<00:15:19.080> books<00:15:19.560> about<00:15:20.600> how<00:15:20.800> to<00:15:20.960> be,<00:15:21.720> how<00:15:21.839> to<00:15:22.040> run<00:15:22.280> a<00:15:22.440> good<00:15:22.640> company<00:15:23.000> internally<00:15:23.600> and<00:15:23.800> how<00:15:23.920> to<00:15:24.120> present<00:15:24.800> a<00:15:24.880> good<00:15:25.640> marketplace

00:15:26.280 --> 00:15:31.920
that<00:15:26.654> is<00:15:27.029> valuable<00:15:27.403> to<00:15:27.777> our<00:15:28.151> patients.<00:15:28.526> <00:15:28.900> What<00:15:29.274> is<00:15:29.649> the<00:15:30.023> kind<00:15:30.397> of,<00:15:30.771> there's<00:15:31.146> additional<00:15:31.520> roadblock?

00:15:31.920 --> 00:15:34.400
This<00:15:32.120> isn't<00:15:32.320> just<00:15:32.480> like<00:15:32.600> your<00:15:32.720> typical<00:15:33.120> SaaS<00:15:33.560> startup,<00:15:34.080> right?

00:15:34.400 --> 00:15:38.560
Like<00:15:34.680> there,<00:15:34.840> there's<00:15:35.080> some<00:15:35.280> regulations<00:15:36.040> and<00:15:36.200> laws<00:15:36.640> and<00:15:36.760> HIPAA<00:15:37.160> and<00:15:37.320> things<00:15:37.600> like<00:15:37.760> that.

00:15:38.560 --> 00:15:47.160
Give<00:15:38.720> us<00:15:38.840> a<00:15:38.920> sense<00:15:39.200> for<00:15:39.360> like,<00:15:41.000> kind<00:15:41.200> of<00:15:41.400> the<00:15:42.040> extra<00:15:42.440> hurdles<00:15:42.880> you<00:15:42.960> have<00:15:43.080> to<00:15:43.200> go<00:15:43.320> over<00:15:43.480> if<00:15:43.600> you<00:15:43.760> do<00:15:43.960> want<00:15:44.120> to<00:15:44.200> start<00:15:44.440> like<00:15:44.600> a<00:15:44.680> health<00:15:45.040> tech<00:15:45.240> company.

00:15:47.160 --> 00:15:55.560
<00:15:47.554> Get<00:15:47.949> good<00:15:48.343> legal.<00:15:48.737> And<00:15:49.131> I<00:15:49.526> think<00:15:49.920> legal<00:15:50.314> is<00:15:50.709> really,<00:15:51.103> is<00:15:51.497> key<00:15:51.891> to<00:15:52.286> making<00:15:52.680> sure<00:15:53.074> that<00:15:53.469> you<00:15:53.863> have,<00:15:54.257> I<00:15:54.651> mean,<00:15:55.046> BAs<00:15:55.440> in

00:15:55.560 --> 00:16:03.800
place<00:15:55.920> and<00:15:56.000> you're<00:15:56.160> doing<00:15:56.560> data<00:15:56.800> management<00:15:57.240> correctly<00:15:57.920> and<00:15:58.440> that<00:15:58.680> you<00:15:59.120> are,<00:16:00.280> that<00:16:00.520> you<00:16:00.640> are<00:16:00.800> using<00:16:01.160> the<00:16:01.280> right<00:16:01.560> vendors<00:16:02.040> for<00:16:02.160> different<00:16:02.480> things.

00:16:03.800 --> 00:16:12.760
We<00:16:03.960> have<00:16:04.120> our<00:16:04.320> own<00:16:04.480> in-house<00:16:04.960> EMR<00:16:05.280> system<00:16:05.680> which<00:16:05.840> I<00:16:05.880> think<00:16:06.160> adds<00:16:06.400> a<00:16:06.440> huge<00:16:06.800> layer<00:16:07.000> of<00:16:07.120> complexity<00:16:07.680> for<00:16:07.840> what<00:16:08.000> we're<00:16:08.120> doing,<00:16:09.720> but<00:16:10.480> yeah,<00:16:10.840> I<00:16:10.920> think<00:16:11.240> that<00:16:12.240> operating

00:16:12.760 --> 00:16:16.360
in<00:16:12.920> healthcare<00:16:13.360> is<00:16:13.640> so<00:16:13.840> much<00:16:14.120> more<00:16:14.520> strictly<00:16:14.840> regulated<00:16:15.240> than<00:16:15.320> a<00:16:15.360> lot<00:16:15.480> of<00:16:15.600> other<00:16:15.760> things.

00:16:16.360 --> 00:16:19.040
So<00:16:16.720> it<00:16:16.880> has,<00:16:17.120> it<00:16:17.240> has<00:16:17.440> had<00:16:17.560> its<00:16:17.680> own<00:16:17.760> set<00:16:17.880> of<00:16:17.960> challenges.

00:16:19.040 --> 00:16:21.600
<00:16:19.257> Tell<00:16:19.474> us<00:16:19.691> what<00:16:19.909> an<00:16:20.126> EMR<00:16:20.343> system<00:16:20.560> is.

00:16:21.600 --> 00:16:24.640
<00:16:21.931> Um,<00:16:22.263> an,<00:16:22.594> an<00:16:22.926> electronic<00:16:23.257> medical<00:16:23.589> health<00:16:23.920> record.

00:16:24.640 --> 00:16:32.520
<00:16:24.929> Okay.<00:16:25.218> <00:16:25.508> It's<00:16:25.797> like<00:16:26.086> where,<00:16:26.375> where<00:16:26.665> all<00:16:26.954> of<00:16:27.243> the<00:16:27.532> data<00:16:27.822> goes<00:16:28.111> and<00:16:28.400> where<00:16:28.689> do<00:16:28.978> providers<00:16:29.268> put<00:16:29.557> their<00:16:29.846> notes<00:16:30.135> and<00:16:30.425> how<00:16:30.714> do<00:16:31.003> pharmacies<00:16:31.292> get<00:16:31.582> prescriptions<00:16:31.871> sent<00:16:32.160> in

00:16:32.520 --> 00:16:36.400
and<00:16:34.200> everything<00:16:34.520> that<00:16:34.640> connects<00:16:34.920> it<00:16:35.000> in<00:16:35.040> between.

00:16:36.400 --> 00:16:40.480
<00:16:36.577> When<00:16:36.754> you<00:16:36.931> went<00:16:37.109> to<00:16:37.286> medical<00:16:37.463> school,<00:16:37.640> did<00:16:37.817> you<00:16:37.994> think<00:16:38.171> you'd<00:16:38.349> be<00:16:38.526> running<00:16:38.703> a<00:16:38.880> startup?

00:16:40.480 --> 00:16:43.080
<00:16:40.832> No.<00:16:41.184> I,<00:16:41.536> I<00:16:41.888> love<00:16:42.240> medicine.

00:16:43.080 --> 00:16:51.480
I<00:16:43.240> think<00:16:43.480> it<00:16:43.600> was<00:16:43.960> a,<00:16:46.160> I<00:16:46.320> think<00:16:46.760> practicing<00:16:47.360> medicine<00:16:47.800> day-to-day<00:16:48.440> was<00:16:48.640> not<00:16:48.880> for<00:16:49.000> me,<00:16:50.280> but<00:16:50.440> I<00:16:50.520> think<00:16:50.760> I<00:16:50.880> did<00:16:51.200> love

00:16:51.480 --> 00:16:54.320
the<00:16:51.560> parts<00:16:51.920> of<00:16:52.080> just<00:16:52.280> getting<00:16:52.520> to<00:16:52.640> connect<00:16:53.000> with<00:16:53.160> different<00:16:53.440> people<00:16:53.760> every<00:16:53.920> day,<00:16:54.120> right?

00:16:54.320 --> 00:17:00.720
You<00:16:54.400> never<00:16:54.680> really<00:16:54.880> know<00:16:55.080> who's<00:16:55.240> going<00:16:55.360> to<00:16:55.440> show<00:16:55.640> up<00:16:56.280> and<00:16:57.280> you<00:16:57.360> have<00:16:57.440> to<00:16:57.520> be<00:16:57.640> very<00:16:57.839> open-minded<00:16:58.400> to<00:16:58.520> that<00:16:58.880> and<00:16:58.960> it's<00:16:59.280> just<00:16:59.440> kind<00:16:59.600> of<00:16:59.680> an<00:16:59.800> excitement<00:17:00.240> of,<00:17:00.320> like,<00:17:00.480> meeting

00:17:00.720 --> 00:17:04.640

00:17:07.680 --> 00:17:10.360
Like,<00:17:07.930> uh,<00:17:08.180> <00:17:08.430> It's<00:17:08.680> become<00:17:08.930> really<00:17:09.180> trendy.<00:17:09.430> <00:17:09.680> Really?

00:17:10.360 --> 00:17:18.600
Oh,<00:17:10.646> wow.<00:17:10.932> It's<00:17:11.218> awesome.<00:17:11.505> <00:17:11.791> Like,<00:17:12.077> really,<00:17:12.363> it's<00:17:12.649> become,<00:17:12.935> I<00:17:13.222> think<00:17:13.508> there's<00:17:13.794> a<00:17:14.080> lot<00:17:14.366> more<00:17:14.652> people<00:17:14.938> who<00:17:15.225> go<00:17:15.511> to<00:17:15.797> medical<00:17:16.083> school<00:17:16.369> who<00:17:16.655> want<00:17:16.942> to<00:17:17.228> do<00:17:17.514> healthcare<00:17:17.800> innovation

00:17:18.600 --> 00:17:20.560
and<00:17:18.959> and<00:17:19.160> tech<00:17:19.439> in<00:17:19.520> general.<00:17:20.360> So.

00:17:20.560 --> 00:17:23.680
<00:17:20.820> Well,<00:17:21.080> there's<00:17:21.340> probably<00:17:21.600> no<00:17:21.860> better,<00:17:22.120> you<00:17:22.380> know,<00:17:22.640> training<00:17:22.900> for<00:17:23.160> it.

00:17:23.680 --> 00:17:32.080
You<00:17:23.760> know,<00:17:23.920> to<00:17:24.120> really<00:17:24.480> understand<00:17:25.120> the<00:17:25.240> industry<00:17:26.120> and<00:17:26.319> what<00:17:26.480> you're<00:17:26.600> dealing<00:17:26.920> with<00:17:27.280> and<00:17:27.920> it,<00:17:28.600> it<00:17:28.760> also<00:17:29.000> just<00:17:29.200> brings<00:17:29.480> like<00:17:29.680> an<00:17:30.000> incredibly,<00:17:31.160> um,<00:17:31.880> just

00:17:32.080 --> 00:17:37.240
like<00:17:32.240> this<00:17:32.560> level<00:17:32.960> of,<00:17:33.440> uh,<00:17:34.080> expertise<00:17:34.960> and<00:17:35.120> credibility,<00:17:36.000> right?

00:17:37.240 --> 00:17:42.080
Like<00:17:37.440> to<00:17:37.520> what<00:17:37.640> you're<00:17:37.760> doing.<00:17:38.240> Has<00:17:38.360> it<00:17:38.480> helped?<00:17:38.880> Like<00:17:39.080> being<00:17:39.360> an<00:17:39.440> MD,<00:17:39.800> is<00:17:39.920> that,<00:17:40.080> that,<00:17:40.280> that<00:17:40.480> do<00:17:40.600> it<00:17:40.720> help?

00:17:42.080 --> 00:17:50.320
<00:17:42.431> I<00:17:42.783> think<00:17:43.134> it's<00:17:43.485> been<00:17:43.837> helpful<00:17:44.188> to<00:17:44.539> understanding<00:17:44.890> what<00:17:45.242> does,<00:17:45.593> What<00:17:45.944> are<00:17:46.296> some<00:17:46.647> of<00:17:46.998> the<00:17:47.350> real-world<00:17:47.701> challenges<00:17:48.052> for<00:17:48.403> providers<00:17:48.755> in<00:17:49.106> a<00:17:49.457> health<00:17:49.809> system,<00:17:50.160> but

00:17:50.320 --> 00:17:56.960
I<00:17:50.360> think<00:17:50.640> that<00:17:50.760> there's<00:17:50.960> a<00:17:51.040> lot,<00:17:51.880> um,<00:17:52.360> of<00:17:52.600> how<00:17:53.560> a<00:17:53.680> business<00:17:54.160> in<00:17:54.320> healthcare<00:17:54.720> operates<00:17:55.200> that<00:17:55.320> is<00:17:55.440> left<00:17:55.680> out<00:17:55.800> of<00:17:55.880> medical<00:17:56.160> school.

00:17:56.960 --> 00:18:00.680
Somewhat<00:17:57.240> intentionally<00:17:57.800> almost,<00:17:58.280> right?<00:17:58.440> I<00:17:58.520> think<00:17:58.760> like,<00:17:59.400> um,<00:17:59.640> how<00:17:59.800> does<00:17:59.960> insurance<00:18:00.440> work?

00:18:00.680 --> 00:18:04.960
How<00:18:00.800> do<00:18:00.960> billing<00:18:01.200> codes<00:18:01.480> work?<00:18:01.760> How<00:18:01.920> do<00:18:02.080> you,<00:18:02.760> um,<00:18:03.240> how,<00:18:03.520> how<00:18:03.720> do<00:18:03.880> healthcare<00:18:04.200> practices<00:18:04.640> operate?

00:18:04.960 --> 00:18:07.680
What<00:18:05.080> does<00:18:05.240> the<00:18:05.360> legal<00:18:05.680> look<00:18:05.880> like<00:18:06.120> for<00:18:06.240> a<00:18:06.280> hospital<00:18:06.640> system?

00:18:07.680 --> 00:18:09.880
Um,<00:18:08.040> that<00:18:08.280> is<00:18:08.360> entirely<00:18:08.880> left<00:18:09.200> out.

00:18:09.880 --> 00:18:14.960
Um,<00:18:10.320> and<00:18:10.600> honestly,<00:18:10.960> like<00:18:11.120> doctors<00:18:11.520> don't<00:18:11.720> know<00:18:11.880> anything<00:18:12.360> about<00:18:13.200> flows<00:18:13.520> of<00:18:13.640> money,<00:18:14.200> right?

00:18:14.960 --> 00:18:18.600
Um,<00:18:15.440> like<00:18:15.600> how<00:18:15.800> do,<00:18:16.280> How<00:18:16.400> much<00:18:16.600> is<00:18:16.720> your<00:18:16.840> patient<00:18:17.120> going<00:18:17.240> to<00:18:17.320> pay<00:18:17.480> for<00:18:17.600> this<00:18:17.720> prescription?

00:18:18.600 --> 00:18:24.240
How<00:18:18.720> much<00:18:18.920> is<00:18:19.000> your<00:18:19.120> patient<00:18:19.360> going<00:18:19.480> to<00:18:19.520> pay<00:18:19.680> for<00:18:19.800> this<00:18:19.960> visit?<00:18:20.800> Um,<00:18:21.400> how<00:18:21.640> does<00:18:21.840> the<00:18:21.960> billing<00:18:22.200> code<00:18:22.400> that<00:18:22.520> you're<00:18:22.680> selecting<00:18:23.200> change<00:18:23.560> that?

00:18:24.240 --> 00:18:29.800
That's<00:18:24.600> a<00:18:24.680> lot<00:18:24.840> of<00:18:24.920> that<00:18:25.040> is<00:18:25.120> like<00:18:25.320> really<00:18:25.520> left<00:18:25.760> out<00:18:25.880> of<00:18:25.960> healthcare,<00:18:26.800> uh,<00:18:26.920> um,<00:18:27.200> of<00:18:27.720> medical<00:18:28.040> education,<00:18:28.480> really.

00:18:29.800 --> 00:18:34.560
<00:18:30.034> Give<00:18:30.267> me<00:18:30.501> a<00:18:30.735> sense<00:18:30.968> for<00:18:31.202> like<00:18:31.436> the<00:18:31.669> macroeconomic<00:18:31.903> environment<00:18:32.137> and<00:18:32.371> how<00:18:32.604> that<00:18:32.838> might<00:18:33.072> or<00:18:33.305> might<00:18:33.539> not<00:18:33.773> be<00:18:34.006> affecting<00:18:34.240> you.

00:18:34.560 --> 00:18:41.120
Like<00:18:34.880> particularly<00:18:35.320> the<00:18:35.400> first<00:18:35.680> half<00:18:35.840> of<00:18:35.920> the<00:18:36.000> year,<00:18:37.480> um,<00:18:37.640> there<00:18:37.800> was<00:18:37.920> a<00:18:37.960> lot<00:18:38.080> of<00:18:38.160> uncertainty<00:18:38.600> around<00:18:38.880> tariffs<00:18:39.520> and<00:18:39.960> and<00:18:40.120> things<00:18:40.360> like<00:18:40.560> that.

00:18:41.120 --> 00:18:44.640
Um,<00:18:42.000> it<00:18:42.200> seems<00:18:42.480> to<00:18:42.600> stabilize<00:18:43.120> a<00:18:43.160> little<00:18:43.400> bit<00:18:43.640> here<00:18:43.840> in<00:18:43.920> the<00:18:44.000> second<00:18:44.360> half.

00:18:44.640 --> 00:18:49.800
How,<00:18:45.240> How<00:18:45.400> did<00:18:45.600> this<00:18:45.800> year<00:18:46.320> affect<00:18:46.840> you<00:18:47.040> and<00:18:47.200> how<00:18:47.360> are<00:18:47.480> you<00:18:47.600> looking<00:18:47.880> at<00:18:48.000> the<00:18:48.080> next<00:18:48.320> year?

00:18:49.800 --> 00:18:53.200
<00:18:50.260> Um,<00:18:50.720> how<00:18:51.180> did<00:18:51.640> tariffs<00:18:52.100> affect<00:18:52.560> us?

00:18:53.200 --> 00:18:59.440
Um,<00:18:53.440> compounding<00:18:53.880> pharmacies<00:18:54.320> are<00:18:54.480> all<00:18:54.600> made<00:18:55.000> in<00:18:55.120> making<00:18:55.480> their<00:18:55.640> products<00:18:56.040> within<00:18:56.280> the<00:18:56.400> US<00:18:56.800> and<00:18:56.920> so<00:18:57.040> I<00:18:57.120> think<00:18:57.400> from<00:18:57.560> a<00:18:57.600> manufacturing<00:18:58.320> perspective<00:18:58.840> and<00:18:58.960> medication

00:18:59.440 --> 00:19:07.680
management,<00:19:00.480> um,<00:19:00.840> this<00:19:01.000> administration<00:19:01.640> has<00:19:01.880> really,<00:19:02.120> really<00:19:03.040> wanted<00:19:03.560> to<00:19:03.680> push<00:19:04.280> more<00:19:04.640> small<00:19:04.920> business<00:19:05.520> innovation<00:19:06.080> and<00:19:06.200> more<00:19:06.760> manufacturing<00:19:07.360> to<00:19:07.440> happen

00:19:07.680 --> 00:19:14.160
in<00:19:07.760> the<00:19:07.840> US.<00:19:08.840> Um,<00:19:09.760> our<00:19:09.880> packaging<00:19:10.400> comes<00:19:10.680> from<00:19:10.840> China,<00:19:11.760> like<00:19:11.920> the<00:19:12.040> boxes<00:19:12.520> that<00:19:12.680> we<00:19:12.800> ship<00:19:13.240> in.

00:19:14.160 --> 00:19:16.960
Um,<00:19:14.600> and<00:19:14.720> that's,<00:19:15.040> that<00:19:15.240> it's<00:19:15.400> just<00:19:15.520> cardboard<00:19:15.880> boxes.

00:19:16.960 --> 00:19:25.560
Um,<00:19:17.360> but<00:19:17.640> we<00:19:17.880> had<00:19:19.120> a<00:19:19.200> quarter<00:19:19.440> million<00:19:19.720> water<00:19:19.920> bottles<00:19:21.160> stuck<00:19:21.440> on<00:19:21.600> boats<00:19:23.200> for<00:19:24.120> like<00:19:24.320> 4<00:19:24.560> months.

00:19:25.560 --> 00:19:28.400
Um,<00:19:26.280> and<00:19:27.320> it<00:19:27.400> was<00:19:27.520> really<00:19:27.720> fun.

00:19:28.400 --> 00:19:36.040
It<00:19:28.520> was,<00:19:28.680> it<00:19:28.800> was<00:19:28.920> pretty<00:19:29.080> exciting.<00:19:29.920> Honestly,<00:19:30.880> it<00:19:31.000> eventually<00:19:31.440> made<00:19:31.680> it,<00:19:32.080> but<00:19:32.240> it<00:19:32.360> was<00:19:33.040> a<00:19:33.160> fun<00:19:33.600> puzzle<00:19:33.960> to<00:19:34.080> untangle.

00:19:36.040 --> 00:19:42.640
I<00:19:36.160> think<00:19:36.520> relative<00:19:37.000> to<00:19:37.080> other<00:19:37.280> companies<00:19:37.640> we've<00:19:37.760> been<00:19:37.920> very,<00:19:38.360> we've<00:19:38.560> been<00:19:39.200> lucky<00:19:39.600> to<00:19:39.720> not<00:19:40.040> be<00:19:40.080> very<00:19:40.440> impacted,<00:19:40.920> but<00:19:41.040> it<00:19:41.120> was<00:19:41.240> just<00:19:41.400> kind<00:19:41.560> of<00:19:41.640> a<00:19:41.720> funny<00:19:42.000> story<00:19:42.240> that<00:19:42.360> we<00:19:42.480> would

00:19:42.640 --> 00:19:50.040
tell.<00:19:42.923> <00:19:43.207> Yeah,<00:19:43.490> we're<00:19:43.774> not<00:19:44.057> a<00:19:44.341> political<00:19:44.624> show<00:19:44.908> at<00:19:45.191> all,<00:19:45.475> but<00:19:45.758> I<00:19:46.042> have<00:19:46.325> to<00:19:46.609> ask<00:19:46.892> you<00:19:47.176> like<00:19:47.459> how<00:19:47.743> do<00:19:48.026> you<00:19:48.310> think<00:19:48.593> of<00:19:48.877> RFK<00:19:49.160> Jr.

00:19:50.040 --> 00:19:53.160
and<00:19:51.080> the<00:19:51.240> new<00:19:52.120> Health<00:19:52.400> and<00:19:52.480> Human<00:19:52.720> Services?

00:19:53.160 --> 00:19:59.280
You,<00:19:53.360> you've<00:19:53.520> obviously,<00:19:53.960> these<00:19:54.320> are<00:19:54.400> kind<00:19:54.600> of<00:19:54.680> two<00:19:54.840> drastically<00:19:55.520> different,<00:19:56.880> um,<00:19:57.600> and<00:19:57.880> and<00:19:58.000> you've<00:19:58.160> been<00:19:58.320> a<00:19:58.400> part<00:19:58.640> of<00:19:58.720> both<00:19:59.000> now.

00:19:59.280 --> 00:20:05.920
You<00:19:59.400> know<00:19:59.480> what<00:19:59.560> I<00:19:59.600> mean?<00:19:59.840> Like<00:20:00.080> running<00:20:00.320> your<00:20:00.480> company<00:20:00.840> in<00:20:01.440> between<00:20:01.880> like<00:20:02.520> his,<00:20:02.760> his,<00:20:03.680> uh,<00:20:03.760> predecessor<00:20:04.360> and<00:20:04.520> now<00:20:04.760> with<00:20:05.000> him.

00:20:05.920 --> 00:20:09.520
Have<00:20:06.120> you<00:20:06.200> noticed<00:20:06.520> any<00:20:06.640> big<00:20:06.840> changes?<00:20:07.560> Anything<00:20:07.840> like<00:20:08.000> that?

00:20:09.520 --> 00:20:15.040
<00:20:09.793> Um,<00:20:10.066> I<00:20:10.339> think<00:20:10.612> this<00:20:10.885> administration<00:20:11.158> really<00:20:11.431> wants<00:20:11.704> to<00:20:11.976> lower<00:20:12.249> drug<00:20:12.522> prices<00:20:12.795> and<00:20:13.068> is<00:20:13.341> pretty<00:20:13.614> serious<00:20:13.887> about<00:20:14.160> that.

00:20:15.040 --> 00:20:23.200
And<00:20:15.160> I<00:20:15.240> think<00:20:15.520> that,<00:20:16.160> um,<00:20:17.080> opening<00:20:17.440> up<00:20:17.600> new<00:20:17.840> avenues<00:20:18.280> that<00:20:18.440> remove<00:20:18.760> a<00:20:18.840> lot<00:20:18.960> of<00:20:19.040> the<00:20:19.120> middle<00:20:19.280> men<00:20:19.520> in<00:20:19.680> healthcare,<00:20:20.800> um,<00:20:20.960> whether<00:20:21.200> it<00:20:21.280> be<00:20:22.040> providers<00:20:22.520> in<00:20:22.600> getting<00:20:22.840> access<00:20:23.120> to

00:20:23.200 --> 00:20:26.520
patients<00:20:23.600> and<00:20:23.760> billing<00:20:24.000> insurance<00:20:24.520> and<00:20:24.680> PBMs<00:20:25.360> and<00:20:25.680> hospital<00:20:26.040> systems.

00:20:26.520 --> 00:20:33.520
All<00:20:26.640> of<00:20:26.720> these,<00:20:27.040> every<00:20:27.280> layer<00:20:27.560> that<00:20:27.720> you<00:20:27.840> add<00:20:28.520> adds<00:20:28.720> expense<00:20:29.680> and<00:20:30.000> anything<00:20:30.400> that<00:20:30.520> removes<00:20:30.880> layers<00:20:31.520> makes<00:20:31.760> it<00:20:31.880> cheaper<00:20:32.120> for<00:20:32.240> patients<00:20:32.600> to<00:20:32.680> get<00:20:32.800> access<00:20:33.080> to<00:20:33.160> care.

00:20:33.520 --> 00:20:40.960
And<00:20:33.640> so<00:20:33.720> I<00:20:33.760> think<00:20:34.000> we've<00:20:34.240> been<00:20:35.240> lucky<00:20:35.520> that<00:20:35.680> in<00:20:35.800> our<00:20:35.960> space<00:20:36.360> that's<00:20:36.640> literally<00:20:36.960> what<00:20:37.080> we're<00:20:37.200> doing<00:20:37.640> and<00:20:37.880> so<00:20:38.000> we<00:20:38.200> have<00:20:38.480> seen<00:20:39.280> a<00:20:39.360> lot<00:20:39.600> of<00:20:39.720> change<00:20:40.040> just<00:20:40.160> that<00:20:40.320> the<00:20:40.480> administration

00:20:40.960 --> 00:20:47.200
is<00:20:41.080> making<00:20:41.680> positively<00:20:42.200> impact<00:20:42.520> our<00:20:42.600> business<00:20:42.960> to<00:20:43.080> say,<00:20:43.520> yes,<00:20:43.800> we<00:20:43.920> would<00:20:44.080> like<00:20:44.280> to<00:20:44.360> basically<00:20:44.680> get<00:20:44.880> patients<00:20:45.240> access<00:20:45.520> to<00:20:45.600> medication.

00:20:47.200 --> 00:20:55.840
<00:20:47.507> Oh,<00:20:47.813> that's<00:20:48.120> interesting.<00:20:48.427> Um,<00:20:48.733> finally,<00:20:49.040> we<00:20:49.347> end<00:20:49.653> every<00:20:49.960> interview<00:20:50.267> with<00:20:50.573> the<00:20:50.880> same<00:20:51.187> question<00:20:51.493> and<00:20:51.800> that<00:20:52.107> is<00:20:52.413> at<00:20:52.720> ceo.com<00:20:53.027> we<00:20:53.333> believe<00:20:53.640> the<00:20:53.947> chances<00:20:54.253> one<00:20:54.560> gives

00:20:55.840 --> 00:21:02.560
is<00:20:55.960> just<00:20:56.200> as<00:20:56.240> important<00:20:56.560> as<00:20:56.640> the<00:20:56.760> chances<00:20:57.120> one<00:20:57.280> takes.<00:20:57.920> When<00:20:58.160> you<00:20:58.320> hear<00:20:58.520> that,<00:20:58.760> who<00:20:58.920> gave<00:20:59.160> you<00:20:59.280> a<00:20:59.320> chance<00:20:59.600> to<00:20:59.720> get<00:20:59.840> you<00:20:59.920> to<00:21:00.000> where<00:21:00.160> you<00:21:00.280> are<00:21:00.440> today?

00:21:02.560 --> 00:21:07.640
<00:21:03.015> Who<00:21:03.470> gave<00:21:03.925> me<00:21:04.380> a<00:21:04.835> chance?<00:21:05.290> Um,<00:21:05.745> my<00:21:06.200> team.

00:21:07.640 --> 00:21:16.000

00:21:16.000 --> 00:21:21.800
