# Genevieve Bellaire wants to automate adulthood

Genevieve Bellaire earned a bachelor's degree from Princeton, a JD/MBA from Georgetown, and worked at Goldman Sachs. Then she had to pick a health insurance plan.

"I learned so many different things in school, but there was this massive knowledge gap around all the practical life stuff, whether it was figuring out insurance or finances," Bellaire told the CEO.com Podcast. "I'm the oldest kid in my family, so I didn't have an older brother or sister who could give me the playbook."

She made the mistakes most people make in their twenties, then spent the next several years building what would have prevented them. Bellaire is the founder and CEO of [Realworld](https://www.realworld.co/?ref=ceo.com), an AI-driven platform for navigating adulthood: insurance, taxes, leases, retirement accounts, the paperwork no one teaches.

The idea was easy to validate. "I tell them about this idea, and they say, 'Oh, I wish I had that when I was younger,'" she said. "Next person you talked to, 'Oh, I wish I had that when I was younger.'" Figuring out what to actually build took years.

The first version was a course. Three and a half hours, 36 animated modules, licensed to about 100 schools: the class you should have taken before graduation but didn't. It roughly broke even without outside capital. It also had a structural flaw. "We weren't really building a direct relationship with our end user," Bellaire said. Schools took months to close and marketed the course to students who hadn't yet felt the problem. The real customer was a few years older. "The quarter-life crisis moment person where they're in the real world. They realize this is a problem. They've already made a couple mistakes across their finances or insurance or whatever it might be, and they're ready to invest in that time and themselves to get their lives together."

So the company went direct-to-consumer. [TechCrunch covered](https://techcrunch.com/2021/04/08/realworld-seed-funding/?ref=ceo.com) the $3.4 million seed round in 2021, when the product was more than 90 step-by-step playbooks on budgeting, moving, and salary negotiation. A [$3.2 million round followed in 2022](https://www.entrepreneur.com/living/this-goldman-sachs-alum-is-simplifying-the-transition-to/430332?ref=ceo.com). Bellaire says the total raised is about $8 million.

Between those versions came others. A Duolingo for adulthood. Modules. Conversational AI. "When you're building something that's truly new, you have to try and fail at a lot of different things to get to that product market fit moment," she said. Some failures arrived after months of building and a team organized around a vision that didn't take off. "It's disheartening for your team and also for you." She kept the lesson simple: "There's always another pathway going forward."

Today [Realworld](https://www.realworld.co/?ref=ceo.com) is built around a personal vault. AI reads what users upload, from leases to credit reports to tax returns, pulls out what matters, sets reminders for doctor's appointments and passport renewals, and puts finances in one view. The [current app](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.realworld.co.app&ref=ceo.com) organizes life across finance, health, work, home, car, travel, identification, and relationships, with Life Kits for major transitions. The company has mapped 15 of them, from buying a house to switching jobs to having a child.

The original mission was to simplify adulthood. "It has now evolved to automate adulthood," Bellaire said, and agentic AI is why. "Let us file that claim for you. Let us book your doctor's appointment."

Going direct to consumer changed how quickly she could learn. "If you have a product and it takes you three to six months to get in the hands of your user, your product might actually not be that good, but it takes you six months to get feedback," she said. "Versus the direct-to-consumer side, we can have 10,000 people sign up in a month. If half of them churn, we're like, 'Oh, okay, something's wrong.'"

Bellaire started the company at 27 and spent her early years as a founder collecting advice. She weighs it differently now. "I've come now more to just trust my own gut and to trust data and to seek data over advice," she said. The person spending her whole life inside a problem has better information than the person giving it 30 minutes of thought.

She wakes at 4:00 a.m. to read, plan, and meditate before the day starts. Her standing book recommendation is Endurance, Alfred Lansing's account of Shackleton's Antarctic expedition.

Every conversation on the CEO.com Podcast ends with the same question: who gave you a chance? Bellaire named Jean Case, the entrepreneur and philanthropist whose family foundation backs entrepreneurs, particularly underrepresented ones. Before Realworld had built anything, Case offered her an entrepreneur-in-residence post at the foundation. A place to work, a community, a reason to think of herself as a founder rather than a lawyer who used to work at Goldman. Case became one of Realworld's first investors and remains a mentor.

"It was that first step," Bellaire said, "that started to help me really create that identity in my mind of someone who was building something."

Welcome<00:00:07.116> to<00:00:07.229> the<00:00:07.261> CEO.com<00:00:08.046> Show.

00:00:08.367 --> 00:00:09.360
My<00:00:08.527> name<00:00:08.687> is<00:00:08.832> Clint<00:00:09.088> Betts.

We<00:00:09.569> have<00:00:09.889> Genevieve<00:00:10.531> Bélair,<00:00:11.572> the<00:00:11.893> founder<00:00:12.695> and<00:00:12.839> CEO<00:00:13.801> of<00:00:13.977> Real<00:00:14.297> World.

00:00:15.083 --> 00:00:21.334
Genevieve<00:00:15.580> is<00:00:15.740> the<00:00:15.820> founder<00:00:16.606> of<00:00:16.766> Real<00:00:17.022> World,<00:00:17.343> which<00:00:17.503> is<00:00:17.599> an<00:00:17.808> AI-driven<00:00:18.369> platform<00:00:18.705> to<00:00:18.802> navigate<00:00:19.427> adulthood<00:00:20.132> and<00:00:20.228> its<00:00:20.388> life's<00:00:20.773> moments.

00:00:21.575 --> 00:00:27.361
She's<00:00:21.735> a<00:00:21.895> lawyer<00:00:22.232> by<00:00:22.376> training,<00:00:22.873> experienced<00:00:23.370> the<00:00:23.498> pain<00:00:23.755> points<00:00:24.011> around<00:00:24.171> the<00:00:24.300> quarter-life<00:00:24.716> crisis<00:00:25.181> firsthand<00:00:25.678> when<00:00:25.822> she<00:00:25.919> began<00:00:26.159> her<00:00:26.303> career<00:00:26.447> at<00:00:26.544> Goldman<00:00:26.864> Sachs.

00:00:27.602 --> 00:00:37.236
And<00:00:27.682> realized<00:00:28.066> that<00:00:28.163> despite<00:00:28.547> being<00:00:28.724> educated,<00:00:29.205> she<00:00:29.349> was<00:00:29.525> totally<00:00:29.862> unprepared<00:00:30.247> to<00:00:30.311> navigate<00:00:30.792> all<00:00:30.952> the<00:00:31.048> complexities<00:00:31.689> of<00:00:31.817> modern<00:00:32.170> life,<00:00:32.651> whether<00:00:32.811> it<00:00:32.875> was<00:00:33.052> figuring<00:00:33.356> out<00:00:33.388> how<00:00:33.453> to<00:00:33.549> set<00:00:33.693> up<00:00:33.853> a<00:00:33.917> manager<00:00:34.254> 401<00:00:35.472> or<00:00:35.536> finding<00:00:35.841> doctors<00:00:36.338> that<00:00:36.418> took<00:00:36.643> her<00:00:36.739> insurance.

00:00:37.540 --> 00:00:45.251
She<00:00:37.701> realized<00:00:38.085> there<00:00:38.165> was<00:00:38.342> no<00:00:38.646> one-stop<00:00:39.143> shop<00:00:39.464> to<00:00:39.608> help<00:00:39.849> her<00:00:40.025> generate,<00:00:40.746> to<00:00:40.810> help<00:00:40.987> her<00:00:41.131> generation<00:00:41.692> understand<00:00:42.173> what<00:00:42.349> they<00:00:42.429> needed<00:00:42.734> to<00:00:42.814> do<00:00:42.974> to<00:00:43.007> set<00:00:43.215> themselves<00:00:43.696> up<00:00:43.856> for<00:00:43.968> success<00:00:44.674> as<00:00:44.834> adults.

00:00:45.475 --> 00:00:47.255
So<00:00:45.940> she<00:00:46.116> decided<00:00:46.677> to<00:00:46.838> build<00:00:47.142> it.

00:00:47.319 --> 00:00:48.280
She's<00:00:47.639> built<00:00:47.880> Real<00:00:48.104> World.

00:00:48.345 --> 00:00:49.803
Genevieve,<00:00:48.713> thank<00:00:48.842> you<00:00:48.922> so<00:00:49.066> much<00:00:49.162> for<00:00:49.306> coming<00:00:49.483> on<00:00:49.563> the<00:00:49.643> show.

00:00:50.669 --> 00:00:51.967
Thanks,<00:00:50.925> Clint,<00:00:51.166> so<00:00:51.326> much<00:00:51.422> for<00:00:51.503> having<00:00:51.823> me.

00:00:52.593 --> 00:00:59.341
Tell<00:00:52.833> us,<00:00:52.993> tell<00:00:53.106> me<00:00:53.234> what<00:00:53.330> I<00:00:53.410> missed<00:00:53.651> there<00:00:54.035> and<00:00:54.131> tell<00:00:54.340> us<00:00:54.436> about<00:00:54.773> Real<00:00:54.997> World<00:00:55.414> and<00:00:55.558> how,<00:00:55.959> uh,<00:00:56.440> you<00:00:56.536> know,<00:00:56.600> all<00:00:56.841> of<00:00:56.937> this<00:00:57.097> got<00:00:57.257> started<00:00:57.642> and<00:00:57.722> how<00:00:57.883> you<00:00:57.963> became<00:00:58.299> the<00:00:58.444> founder<00:00:58.780> and<00:00:58.860> CEO.

00:00:59.470 --> 00:01:01.150
Yeah,<00:00:59.910> well,<00:01:00.510> you<00:01:00.690> nailed<00:01:00.890> it.

00:01:01.150 --> 00:01:02.760
So<00:01:01.350> I'm<00:01:01.351> a<00:01:01.610> lawyer<00:01:01.870> turned<00:01:02.110> entrepreneur.

00:01:02.970 --> 00:01:05.610
I<00:01:03.330> was<00:01:03.470> very<00:01:03.710> fortunate<00:01:04.170> to<00:01:04.430> have<00:01:04.630> an<00:01:04.790> amazing<00:01:05.010> education.

00:01:06.070 --> 00:01:11.050
I<00:01:06.090> got<00:01:06.330> a<00:01:06.670> JD<00:01:06.790> and<00:01:06.990> an<00:01:07.110> MBA<00:01:07.390> shortly<00:01:07.750> after<00:01:08.030> graduating<00:01:08.450> from<00:01:08.710> college,<00:01:09.630> then<00:01:09.850> began<00:01:10.030> my<00:01:10.250> career<00:01:10.450> at<00:01:10.850> Goldman.

00:01:11.050 --> 00:01:22.510
And<00:01:11.330> I<00:01:11.510> basically<00:01:11.850> started<00:01:12.230> to<00:01:12.410> realize<00:01:12.730> as<00:01:12.910> soon<00:01:13.090> as<00:01:13.190> I<00:01:13.330> started<00:01:13.570> working<00:01:14.010> full-time<00:01:14.510> that<00:01:14.830> I'd<00:01:15.650> learned<00:01:15.770> so<00:01:15.930> many<00:01:16.090> different<00:01:16.310> things<00:01:16.490> in<00:01:16.790> school,<00:01:17.090> but<00:01:17.410> there<00:01:17.570> was<00:01:17.690> this<00:01:17.850> massive<00:01:18.410> knowledge<00:01:18.910> gap<00:01:19.250> around<00:01:19.750> all<00:01:20.430> the<00:01:20.550> practical<00:01:21.150> kind<00:01:21.470> of<00:01:21.530> life<00:01:21.930> stuff.

00:01:22.510 --> 00:01:35.970
So<00:01:22.610> whether<00:01:22.770> it<00:01:23.010> was<00:01:23.011> figuring<00:01:23.290> out<00:01:23.570> insurance<00:01:24.070> or<00:01:24.330> finances,<00:01:25.020> and<00:01:25.470> I<00:01:25.670> was<00:01:25.710> the<00:01:25.850> oldest<00:01:26.070> kid<00:01:26.230> in<00:01:26.410> my<00:01:26.550> family,<00:01:26.910> so<00:01:27.150> I<00:01:27.190> didn't<00:01:27.370> have<00:01:27.490> an<00:01:27.590> older<00:01:27.810> brother<00:01:28.170> or<00:01:28.310> sister<00:01:28.690> who<00:01:29.010> kind<00:01:29.050> of,<00:01:29.450> you<00:01:29.470> know,<00:01:29.490> could<00:01:29.510> give<00:01:29.530> me<00:01:29.550> the<00:01:29.570> playbook<00:01:29.590> and<00:01:29.610> walk<00:01:29.630> me<00:01:29.650> through<00:01:31.370> figure<00:01:31.470> out<00:01:31.471> how<00:01:31.472> to<00:01:31.550> get<00:01:31.690> that<00:01:31.970> credit<00:01:32.370> card<00:01:32.650> or<00:01:33.210> set<00:01:33.410> up<00:01:33.570> this<00:01:33.750> account<00:01:34.170> or<00:01:34.330> choose<00:01:34.630> this<00:01:34.790> health<00:01:35.030> insurance<00:01:35.429> plan.

00:01:35.970 --> 00:01:42.260
And<00:01:35.971> so,<00:01:36.470> like<00:01:36.670> most<00:01:36.910> people<00:01:37.170> in<00:01:37.290> my<00:01:37.430> early<00:01:37.650> 20s,<00:01:37.950> I<00:01:38.050> just<00:01:38.210> made<00:01:38.390> a<00:01:38.570> ton<00:01:38.730> of<00:01:38.930> careless<00:01:39.409> and<00:01:39.650> avoidable<00:01:40.130> mistakes<00:01:40.570> when<00:01:40.710> it<00:01:40.850> came<00:01:40.990> to<00:01:41.190> a<00:01:41.310> lot<00:01:41.410> of<00:01:41.510> these<00:01:41.650> different<00:01:41.910> decisions.

00:01:42.990 --> 00:01:58.230
And<00:01:43.390> the<00:01:43.590> more<00:01:43.770> that<00:01:43.910> I<00:01:43.970> started<00:01:44.350> thinking<00:01:44.990> about<00:01:45.250> this,<00:01:45.610> the<00:01:45.750> more<00:01:45.950> I<00:01:46.150> realized<00:01:46.330> there<00:01:46.510> just<00:01:46.650> really<00:01:47.070> wasn't<00:01:47.350> a<00:01:47.609> place<00:01:47.810> where<00:01:48.050> you<00:01:48.110> could<00:01:48.330> go<00:01:48.750> that<00:01:49.410> could<00:01:49.690> kind<00:01:49.730> of<00:01:49.950> onboard<00:01:50.270> you<00:01:50.590> into<00:01:50.810> adulthood,<00:01:51.330> so<00:01:51.570> to<00:01:51.810> speak,<00:01:52.050> and<00:01:52.310> just<00:01:52.570> not<00:01:52.910> only<00:01:53.110> help<00:01:53.310> you<00:01:53.530> figure<00:01:53.750> out<00:01:54.010> how<00:01:54.210> to<00:01:54.370> do<00:01:54.510> these<00:01:54.710> things,<00:01:55.090> but<00:01:55.330> help<00:01:55.510> you<00:01:55.730> figure<00:01:55.910> out<00:01:56.090> the<00:01:56.290> things<00:01:56.470> you<00:01:56.630> didn't<00:01:56.850> even<00:01:57.050> know<00:01:57.290> that<00:01:57.390> you<00:01:57.530> didn't<00:01:57.730> know.

00:01:58.610 --> 00:02:10.996
And<00:01:58.770> so<00:01:58.870> that<00:01:58.950> was<00:01:59.090> really<00:01:59.330> the<00:01:59.450> impetus<00:01:59.810> initially<00:02:00.210> of<00:02:00.390> Real<00:02:00.650> World,<00:02:00.810> was<00:02:00.970> to<00:02:01.130> build<00:02:01.350> kind<00:02:01.370> of<00:02:01.390> that<00:02:01.410> platform<00:02:01.430> that<00:02:03.270> teach<00:02:03.606> you<00:02:04.087> all<00:02:04.247> these<00:02:04.424> different<00:02:04.664> topics<00:02:05.145> across<00:02:05.706> dozens<00:02:06.107> of<00:02:06.187> categories<00:02:06.812> that<00:02:06.892> you<00:02:07.005> don't<00:02:07.213> learn<00:02:07.389> in<00:02:07.469> the<00:02:07.550> classroom,<00:02:08.175> but<00:02:08.335> that<00:02:08.672> truly<00:02:08.976> you<00:02:09.088> need<00:02:09.473> to<00:02:09.633> be<00:02:09.714> successful<00:02:10.275> as<00:02:10.419> an<00:02:10.515> adult.

And<00:03:34.557> it<00:03:34.637> was<00:03:34.878> really<00:03:35.198> this<00:03:35.423> idea<00:03:36.001> and<00:03:36.161> kind<00:03:36.386> of<00:03:36.482> this<00:03:36.787> one<00:03:36.963> phrase<00:03:37.509> that<00:03:37.605> kept<00:03:37.845> coming<00:03:38.166> up,<00:03:38.327> which<00:03:38.567> was,<00:03:39.386> I<00:03:39.450> tell<00:03:39.610> them<00:03:39.706> about<00:03:39.931> this<00:03:40.091> idea<00:03:40.348> and<00:03:40.476> they<00:03:40.509> say,<00:03:40.797> "Oh,<00:03:40.894> I<00:03:40.974> wish<00:03:41.279> I<00:03:41.359> had<00:03:41.519> that<00:03:41.599> when<00:03:41.696> I<00:03:41.760> was<00:03:41.920> younger."<00:03:42.702> I<00:03:42.722> was<00:03:42.851> like,<00:03:43.043> "Okay."<00:03:43.476> Next<00:03:43.765> person<00:03:43.990> you<00:03:44.022> talk<00:03:44.182> to,<00:03:44.327> "Oh,<00:03:44.439> I<00:03:44.503> wish<00:03:44.728> I<00:03:44.808> had<00:03:44.904> that<00:03:45.065> when<00:03:45.161> I<00:03:45.209> was<00:03:45.369> younger."<00:03:45.530> It's<00:03:45.771> like,<00:03:46.107> "Okay,<00:03:46.589> well,<00:03:47.134> let's<00:03:47.391> build<00:03:47.615> it<00:03:47.728> so<00:03:47.952> that<00:03:48.113> the<00:03:48.193> younger<00:03:48.514> selves<00:03:48.851> of<00:03:48.979> us<00:03:49.011> can<00:03:49.236> have<00:03:49.476> this<00:03:49.701> thing."<00:03:50.824> What<00:03:50.920> was<00:03:51.305> less<00:03:51.706> clear<00:03:52.123> was,<00:03:52.845> what<00:03:53.006> is<00:03:53.246> it?

00:03:54.065 --> 00:04:00.914
If<00:03:54.193> you're<00:03:54.434> truly<00:03:54.706> defining<00:03:55.476> a<00:03:55.492> new<00:03:55.653> category<00:03:56.134> and<00:03:56.279> you're<00:03:56.375> building<00:03:56.680> this<00:03:56.856> new<00:03:57.000> type<00:03:57.193> of<00:03:57.337> product<00:03:57.642> that<00:03:57.738> doesn't<00:03:57.979> exist,<00:03:59.038> Is<00:03:59.246> it<00:03:59.487> a<00:03:59.567> course,<00:04:00.225> which<00:04:00.369> we<00:04:00.465> tried?

00:04:01.347 --> 00:04:04.635
Is<00:04:01.524> it<00:04:01.732> a<00:04:02.069> Duolingo<00:04:02.726> for<00:04:02.951> adulthood,<00:04:03.592> which<00:04:03.737> we<00:04:03.897> also<00:04:04.218> tried?

00:04:04.859 --> 00:04:11.371
Is<00:04:06.255> it<00:04:06.463> a<00:04:07.666> series<00:04:08.019> of<00:04:08.163> different<00:04:09.029> modules<00:04:09.991> or<00:04:10.168> conversational<00:04:11.050> AI?

00:04:11.515 --> 00:04:12.621
All<00:04:11.611> of<00:04:11.691> these<00:04:11.852> things<00:04:12.076> which<00:04:12.172> we've<00:04:12.333> tried.

00:04:13.536 --> 00:04:24.537
And<00:04:13.696> so,<00:04:14.241> one<00:04:14.402> of<00:04:14.578> the<00:04:15.620> big<00:04:16.021> lessons<00:04:16.406> throughout<00:04:16.663> this<00:04:16.823> journey<00:04:17.449> is<00:04:17.769> when<00:04:17.850> you're<00:04:18.058> building<00:04:18.411> something<00:04:18.892> that's<00:04:19.149> truly<00:04:19.550> new,<00:04:20.496> you<00:04:20.528> have<00:04:20.672> to<00:04:20.817> try<00:04:21.137> and<00:04:21.234> fail<00:04:21.474> at<00:04:21.554> a<00:04:21.634> lot<00:04:21.811> of<00:04:21.875> different<00:04:22.180> things<00:04:22.420> to<00:04:22.757> get<00:04:22.933> to<00:04:23.078> that<00:04:23.383> product-market<00:04:23.960> fit<00:04:24.265> moment.

00:04:24.730 --> 00:04:51.170
And<00:04:25.230> so,<00:04:25.430> as<00:04:25.450> I<00:04:25.650> mentioned,<00:04:26.050> fast<00:04:26.250> forward<00:04:26.430> to<00:04:26.590> where<00:04:26.690> we<00:04:26.790> are<00:04:26.970> now,<00:04:27.950> we've<00:04:28.290> taken<00:04:28.610> so<00:04:29.110> much<00:04:29.290> just<00:04:29.510> foundational<00:04:29.930> knowledge<00:04:30.470> and<00:04:30.650> sort<00:04:30.870> of<00:04:31.580> learnings<00:04:32.130> over<00:04:32.150> the<00:04:32.270> last<00:04:32.490> few<00:04:32.730> years<00:04:32.890> to<00:04:33.090> now<00:04:33.310> launch<00:04:33.550> this<00:04:33.850> product,<00:04:34.350> which<00:04:34.670> is<00:04:34.850> in<00:04:34.970> market,<00:04:35.490> which<00:04:35.590> is<00:04:36.190> not<00:04:36.290> only<00:04:36.470> powered<00:04:36.790> by<00:04:37.810> AI,<00:04:38.490> which<00:04:38.491> makes<00:04:38.790> it<00:04:39.010> exciting<00:04:39.570> just<00:04:39.750> because<00:04:39.990> of<00:04:40.150> the<00:04:40.670> technological<00:04:41.170> advances<00:04:41.670> that<00:04:41.870> have<00:04:42.010> come<00:04:42.150> down<00:04:42.270> the<00:04:42.430> pipeline,<00:04:43.210> but<00:04:43.710> also<00:04:43.930> it's<00:04:44.070> really<00:04:44.210> grounded<00:04:44.550> in<00:04:44.910> sort<00:04:45.050> of<00:04:45.190> learnings<00:04:45.850> from<00:04:46.140> years'<00:04:46.690> worth<00:04:46.790> of<00:04:46.930> talking<00:04:47.170> to<00:04:47.390> people<00:04:47.650> and<00:04:47.790> sort<00:04:47.990> of<00:04:48.150> experimenting<00:04:48.530> with<00:04:48.750> different<00:04:48.970> mediums<00:04:49.430> to<00:04:49.590> help<00:04:49.970> them<00:04:50.110> navigate<00:04:50.410> these<00:04:50.610> questions.

00:04:51.170 --> 00:04:52.250
Why<00:04:51.310> didn't<00:04:51.490> the<00:04:51.690> course<00:04:51.950> work?

00:04:52.250 --> 00:04:53.170
I'm<00:04:52.450> interested<00:04:52.750> in<00:04:52.970> that.

00:04:53.170 --> 00:04:54.750
Like,<00:04:53.330> what<00:04:53.390> was<00:04:53.550> your—<00:04:54.630> what<00:04:54.650> was<00:04:54.670> the<00:04:54.690> idea<00:04:54.710> behind<00:04:54.730> that?

00:04:54.750 --> 00:04:57.834
Was<00:04:56.646> the<00:04:56.726> first<00:04:56.967> thing<00:04:57.063> you<00:04:57.144> tried<00:04:57.384> was<00:04:57.529> the<00:04:57.609> course?

00:04:58.332 --> 00:04:58.541
Yes.

00:04:59.151 --> 00:05:04.096
So<00:04:59.472> when<00:04:59.632> we<00:04:59.889> started<00:05:00.275> the<00:05:00.355> business,<00:05:01.479> the<00:05:01.559> whole<00:05:01.800> idea<00:05:02.282> was<00:05:02.667> to<00:05:03.229> go<00:05:03.325> where<00:05:03.470> the<00:05:03.550> problem<00:05:03.887> was.

00:05:04.449 --> 00:05:07.034
And<00:05:04.931> for<00:05:05.076> us,<00:05:05.252> the<00:05:05.348> problem<00:05:05.670> initially<00:05:06.135> was<00:05:06.537> education.

00:05:07.083 --> 00:05:08.881
It's<00:05:07.243> like,<00:05:07.741> okay,<00:05:08.046> why<00:05:08.207> is<00:05:08.303> this<00:05:08.447> a<00:05:08.463> problem?

00:05:09.009 --> 00:05:10.294
People<00:05:09.186> don't<00:05:09.331> learn<00:05:09.507> this<00:05:09.587> stuff<00:05:09.812> in<00:05:09.844> school.

00:05:10.888 --> 00:05:15.657
So<00:05:11.097> we<00:05:11.193> built<00:05:11.434> a<00:05:11.514> product<00:05:11.916> that<00:05:11.996> was<00:05:12.140> designed<00:05:12.478> specifically<00:05:13.024> for<00:05:13.184> colleges<00:05:14.147> and<00:05:14.228> high<00:05:14.404> schools,<00:05:14.709> but<00:05:14.806> mostly<00:05:15.191> colleges.

00:05:16.106 --> 00:05:27.699
It<00:05:16.171> was<00:05:16.315> kind<00:05:16.572> of<00:05:16.717> like<00:05:17.279> the<00:05:17.375> course<00:05:17.696> you<00:05:17.776> should<00:05:17.985> have<00:05:18.097> taken<00:05:18.402> in<00:05:18.483> college<00:05:18.900> but<00:05:19.045> didn't,<00:05:19.607> that<00:05:19.783> would<00:05:20.506> launch<00:05:20.811> you<00:05:20.907> into<00:05:21.084> life<00:05:21.373> in<00:05:21.453> the<00:05:21.534> real<00:05:21.774> world<00:05:22.192> and<00:05:22.336> teach<00:05:22.577> you<00:05:22.657> about<00:05:23.139> taxes<00:05:23.701> and<00:05:23.862> debt<00:05:24.103> and<00:05:24.263> credit<00:05:24.665> and<00:05:25.227> how<00:05:25.387> insurance<00:05:25.885> works<00:05:26.126> and<00:05:26.270> paying<00:05:26.511> back<00:05:26.704> your<00:05:26.848> loans<00:05:27.169> and<00:05:27.250> all<00:05:27.410> of<00:05:27.490> that.

00:05:27.972 --> 00:05:28.726
So,<00:05:28.116> we<00:05:28.277> built<00:05:28.469> this.

00:05:28.951 --> 00:05:31.293
It<00:05:29.560> was<00:05:29.721> actually<00:05:29.881> a<00:05:29.897> pretty<00:05:30.218> incredible<00:05:30.619> product,<00:05:30.940> to<00:05:31.020> be<00:05:31.085> honest.

00:05:31.341 --> 00:05:40.342
It<00:05:31.405> was<00:05:31.582> like<00:05:31.742> 3.5<00:05:32.448> hours,<00:05:33.250> 36<00:05:33.668> different<00:05:33.908> modules,<00:05:34.951> animated<00:05:35.352> content,<00:05:36.716> you<00:05:36.860> know,<00:05:36.957> very<00:05:37.277> kind<00:05:37.502> of<00:05:37.823> next-gen,<00:05:39.042> you<00:05:39.123> know,<00:05:39.347> inspirational,<00:05:39.925> etc.

00:05:40.887 --> 00:05:44.160
We<00:05:41.048> packaged<00:05:41.449> that<00:05:41.625> and<00:05:41.754> licensed<00:05:42.171> it<00:05:42.315> to<00:05:42.508> about<00:05:42.620> 100<00:05:42.989> schools<00:05:43.358> across<00:05:43.679> the<00:05:43.759> country.

00:05:44.337 --> 00:05:52.471
And<00:05:44.417> it<00:05:44.481> was,<00:05:44.802> you<00:05:44.834> know,<00:05:45.219> a<00:05:45.396> successful<00:05:45.941> business<00:05:46.262> in<00:05:46.326> the<00:05:46.358> sense<00:05:46.743> where<00:05:47.465> it<00:05:47.530> wasn't<00:05:47.931> a<00:05:48.091> huge<00:05:48.492> revenue<00:05:48.829> generator,<00:05:49.310> but<00:05:49.760> we<00:05:49.952> were<00:05:50.113> basically<00:05:51.396> breakeven.

00:05:52.503 --> 00:05:52.968
So,<00:05:52.551> we<00:05:52.583> hadn't<00:05:52.696> really<00:05:52.776> raised<00:05:52.840> capital.

00:05:53.000 --> 00:05:53.418
We<00:05:53.033> hadn't<00:05:53.145> done<00:05:53.193> much<00:05:53.241> at<00:05:53.273> that<00:05:53.321> point.

00:05:54.027 --> 00:05:55.613
And<00:05:54.219> sort<00:05:54.363> of<00:05:54.395> scaled<00:05:54.748> it<00:05:54.828> across<00:05:55.068> the<00:05:55.165> country.

00:05:56.190 --> 00:06:03.627
The<00:05:56.286> problem<00:05:56.767> with<00:05:56.928> that<00:05:57.088> that<00:05:57.248> we<00:05:57.408> found<00:05:57.889> was,<00:05:58.594> um,<00:05:59.251> very<00:05:59.556> long<00:05:59.668> sales<00:06:00.037> cycles<00:06:00.598> to<00:06:00.678> work<00:06:00.918> with<00:06:01.014> schools<00:06:01.640> and<00:06:01.736> really<00:06:01.976> any<00:06:02.200> kind<00:06:02.313> of<00:06:02.377> large<00:06:02.938> institution.

00:06:04.284 --> 00:06:10.230
Um,<00:06:04.781> but<00:06:04.925> more<00:06:05.117> importantly,<00:06:05.582> actually,<00:06:06.608> we<00:06:06.768> weren't<00:06:07.169> really<00:06:08.163> building<00:06:08.451> a<00:06:08.483> direct<00:06:08.852> relationship<00:06:09.429> with<00:06:09.525> our<00:06:09.733> end<00:06:09.894> user.

00:06:10.374 --> 00:06:13.676
We<00:06:10.470> were<00:06:10.775> working<00:06:11.015> with<00:06:11.112> schools,<00:06:11.576> but<00:06:11.673> then<00:06:11.833> they<00:06:11.977> had<00:06:12.073> to<00:06:12.169> market<00:06:12.570> the<00:06:12.698> product<00:06:13.019> to<00:06:13.115> their<00:06:13.195> students.

00:06:13.740 --> 00:06:16.849
It<00:06:13.772> wasn't<00:06:13.996> a<00:06:14.012> mandatory<00:06:15.263> thing<00:06:15.359> that<00:06:15.455> they<00:06:15.599> had<00:06:15.824> to<00:06:15.920> do<00:06:16.000> when<00:06:16.144> they<00:06:16.240> graduated.

00:06:17.138 --> 00:06:40.765
And<00:06:17.282> we<00:06:17.378> started<00:06:17.747> to<00:06:17.907> realize<00:06:18.388> that<00:06:18.580> it<00:06:18.644> was<00:06:19.109> actually<00:06:19.366> the<00:06:19.526> wrong<00:06:19.846> population<00:06:20.423> of<00:06:20.552> people<00:06:20.808> to<00:06:20.968> target<00:06:21.609> this<00:06:21.834> sort<00:06:21.994> of,<00:06:22.234> um,<00:06:23.068> soon-to-be<00:06:23.517> graduate<00:06:24.238> as<00:06:24.334> opposed<00:06:24.799> to<00:06:24.975> the<00:06:25.296> kind<00:06:25.440> of<00:06:25.585> quarter-life<00:06:26.082> crisis<00:06:26.739> moment<00:06:27.140> person<00:06:27.620> where<00:06:28.326> they're<00:06:28.422> in<00:06:28.518> the<00:06:28.646> real<00:06:28.823> world,<00:06:29.368> they<00:06:29.528> realize<00:06:29.849> this<00:06:30.025> is<00:06:30.105> a<00:06:30.185> problem,<00:06:30.810> they've<00:06:30.971> already<00:06:31.612> made<00:06:31.852> a<00:06:31.868> couple<00:06:32.157> of<00:06:32.189> mistakes<00:06:32.670> across<00:06:32.991> their<00:06:33.087> finances<00:06:33.648> or<00:06:33.712> insurance<00:06:34.257> or<00:06:34.289> whatever<00:06:34.594> it<00:06:34.674> might<00:06:34.914> be,<00:06:35.555> and<00:06:35.636> they're<00:06:35.860> ready<00:06:36.197> to<00:06:36.341> kind<00:06:36.453> of<00:06:36.533> invest<00:06:36.998> in<00:06:37.078> that<00:06:37.303> time<00:06:37.880> and<00:06:37.960> themselves<00:06:38.601> to<00:06:38.761> get<00:06:39.467> their<00:06:39.579> lives<00:06:39.867> together,<00:06:40.188> so<00:06:40.348> to<00:06:40.380> speak.

00:06:41.406 --> 00:06:47.113
So<00:06:41.551> all<00:06:41.631> that<00:06:41.727> is<00:06:41.839> to<00:06:41.903> say<00:06:42.128> is<00:06:42.224> I<00:06:42.352> think<00:06:42.528> it<00:06:42.913> was<00:06:43.009> an<00:06:43.090> interesting<00:06:43.474> kind<00:06:43.586> of<00:06:43.731> first<00:06:43.987> step<00:06:44.308> for<00:06:44.516> us<00:06:44.709> and<00:06:44.837> a<00:06:45.077> nice<00:06:45.494> way<00:06:45.574> to<00:06:45.735> learn<00:06:46.135> what<00:06:46.296> we<00:06:46.376> needed<00:06:46.568> to<00:06:46.776> build.

00:06:47.642 --> 00:06:56.731
But<00:06:48.043> ultimately,<00:06:48.700> that<00:06:48.860> kind<00:06:49.037> of<00:06:49.165> passive-oriented<00:06:50.608> education<00:06:51.265> versus<00:06:51.586> a<00:06:51.666> more<00:06:51.890> active<00:06:52.387> and<00:06:53.028> frankly,<00:06:53.269> like<00:06:53.493> personalized<00:06:54.086> experience<00:06:55.192> just<00:06:55.417> wasn't<00:06:55.817> the<00:06:55.897> right<00:06:56.234> path<00:06:56.394> forward.

00:06:57.180 --> 00:06:59.247
I<00:06:57.196> wonder<00:06:57.356> if<00:06:57.436> you<00:06:57.516> think<00:06:57.677> that<00:06:57.789> might<00:06:57.997> be<00:06:58.157> the<00:06:58.238> future<00:06:58.638> of<00:06:58.718> education.

00:06:59.600 --> 00:07:06.412
Like,<00:06:59.824> I<00:06:59.921> wonder<00:07:00.161> if<00:07:00.401> you<00:07:00.658> like<00:07:01.043> kind<00:07:01.283> of<00:07:01.363> were<00:07:01.507> like,<00:07:01.684> hey,<00:07:01.988> we're<00:07:02.229> like<00:07:02.389> groundbreaking<00:07:03.206> in<00:07:03.270> terms<00:07:03.527> of<00:07:03.591> the<00:07:03.687> tools<00:07:04.248> and,<00:07:04.873> you<00:07:04.905> know,<00:07:05.050> the<00:07:05.194> way<00:07:05.370> we're<00:07:05.514> presenting<00:07:05.931> this<00:07:06.011> stuff.

00:07:06.492 --> 00:07:09.409
But<00:07:07.069> maybe<00:07:07.678> that's<00:07:07.854> not<00:07:07.999> going<00:07:08.095> to<00:07:08.239> work<00:07:08.736> in<00:07:08.880> the<00:07:08.960> future.

00:07:09.682 --> 00:07:15.692
And<00:07:10.499> which<00:07:10.723> probably<00:07:10.980> leads<00:07:11.236> to<00:07:11.365> like<00:07:11.845> AI<00:07:12.487> and<00:07:12.583> what<00:07:12.807> you're<00:07:12.903> doing<00:07:13.144> with<00:07:13.368> AI<00:07:14.025> and<00:07:14.170> the<00:07:14.266> way<00:07:14.522> that<00:07:14.666> people<00:07:14.907> are<00:07:15.067> learning<00:07:15.308> with<00:07:15.532> AI.

00:07:15.788 --> 00:07:23.209
Give<00:07:15.949> us<00:07:16.109> a<00:07:16.125> sense<00:07:16.413> for<00:07:16.494> how<00:07:16.670> you're<00:07:16.894> using<00:07:17.311> it<00:07:17.952> and<00:07:18.032> maybe<00:07:18.273> just<00:07:18.417> touch<00:07:18.609> a<00:07:18.657> little<00:07:18.898> bit<00:07:19.218> too<00:07:19.475> on<00:07:19.635> just<00:07:19.795> like<00:07:20.180> how<00:07:20.340> you<00:07:20.501> think<00:07:20.677> about<00:07:20.837> the<00:07:20.917> future<00:07:21.158> of<00:07:21.238> education,<00:07:21.719> having,<00:07:22.103> having<00:07:22.344> gone<00:07:22.520> through<00:07:22.600> that<00:07:22.745> experience.

00:07:23.706 --> 00:07:23.915
Sure.

00:07:24.748 --> 00:07:25.678
Well,<00:07:24.860> start<00:07:25.069> with<00:07:25.149> the<00:07:25.229> AI<00:07:25.486> piece.

00:07:25.726 --> 00:07:35.456
So<00:07:26.848> it's<00:07:26.992> a<00:07:27.008> really<00:07:27.249> exciting<00:07:27.570> time<00:07:28.034> to<00:07:28.131> be<00:07:28.692> building<00:07:29.958> for<00:07:30.038> many<00:07:30.311> reasons,<00:07:30.776> but<00:07:30.920> I<00:07:31.096> think<00:07:31.417> the<00:07:32.282> cost<00:07:32.683> of<00:07:32.763> building<00:07:33.020> things<00:07:33.244> has<00:07:33.356> gone<00:07:33.597> down<00:07:33.917> just<00:07:34.142> because<00:07:34.446> of<00:07:34.479> the<00:07:34.543> efficiencies<00:07:35.088> with<00:07:35.248> AI.

00:07:35.665 --> 00:07:40.089
Also,<00:07:35.985> just<00:07:36.226> the<00:07:36.466> personalization<00:07:37.268> that<00:07:37.332> you<00:07:37.492> can<00:07:37.588> build<00:07:37.813> into<00:07:37.973> your<00:07:38.133> product<00:07:38.534> has<00:07:38.855> totally<00:07:39.272> skyrocketed.

00:07:40.153 --> 00:07:45.091
So<00:07:40.314> it's<00:07:40.875> just<00:07:41.051> a<00:07:41.115> very<00:07:41.420> exciting<00:07:41.901> moment<00:07:42.381> if<00:07:42.462> you're<00:07:42.862> a<00:07:42.942> product-oriented<00:07:43.664> person<00:07:44.065> building<00:07:44.305> something<00:07:44.626> in<00:07:44.706> this<00:07:44.866> space.

00:07:45.828 --> 00:07:48.457
The<00:07:45.908> way<00:07:46.068> that<00:07:46.245> we<00:07:46.405> think<00:07:46.629> about<00:07:46.950> it<00:07:47.062> is<00:07:47.190> really<00:07:47.511> in<00:07:47.591> a<00:07:47.671> couple<00:07:47.992> of<00:07:48.088> ways.

00:07:49.050 --> 00:07:52.881
The<00:07:49.130> first<00:07:49.755> is<00:07:49.996> to<00:07:50.653> really<00:07:50.893> personalize<00:07:51.358> our<00:07:51.454> product<00:07:51.935> for<00:07:52.160> the<00:07:52.336> individual.

00:07:52.993 --> 00:08:23.850

00:08:23.850 --> 00:08:25.190
So<00:08:24.010> there's<00:08:24.150> kind<00:08:24.370> of<00:08:24.371> the<00:08:24.510> personalization<00:08:25.170> lens.

00:08:26.193 --> 00:08:30.410
The<00:08:26.289> second<00:08:26.674> thing<00:08:26.770> that<00:08:26.882> we're<00:08:26.995> building<00:08:27.251> into<00:08:27.460> the<00:08:27.556> product<00:08:27.973> is<00:08:28.101> really<00:08:28.341> more<00:08:28.518> of<00:08:28.598> that<00:08:29.303> generative<00:08:29.704> AI<00:08:29.945> component.

00:08:30.458 --> 00:08:40.671
So<00:08:30.762> being<00:08:30.987> able<00:08:31.227> to<00:08:31.307> have<00:08:32.205> kind<00:08:32.350> of<00:08:32.446> like<00:08:32.831> ask<00:08:33.151> Real<00:08:33.328> World<00:08:33.648> as<00:08:33.744> opposed<00:08:34.065> to<00:08:34.274> ask<00:08:34.530> your<00:08:34.674> mom<00:08:34.947> or<00:08:35.091> your<00:08:35.236> dad<00:08:35.508> or<00:08:35.957> Google<00:08:36.198> or<00:08:36.294> someone<00:08:36.679> else<00:08:36.919> and<00:08:36.999> get<00:08:37.159> like<00:08:37.480> very<00:08:37.817> contextualized<00:08:38.923> answers<00:08:39.372> to<00:08:39.436> some<00:08:39.645> of<00:08:39.677> these<00:08:39.885> life<00:08:40.126> questions.

00:08:41.184 --> 00:08:44.166
And<00:08:41.264> that<00:08:41.424> could<00:08:41.520> be<00:08:41.665> understanding<00:08:42.531> this<00:08:42.691> health<00:08:42.867> insurance<00:08:43.252> plan<00:08:43.428> versus<00:08:43.829> this<00:08:44.054> one.

00:08:44.214 --> 00:08:49.745
It<00:08:44.294> could<00:08:44.390> be<00:08:44.615> helping<00:08:44.855> you<00:08:44.952> figure<00:08:45.336> out,<00:08:45.433> should<00:08:45.577> I<00:08:45.673> rent<00:08:45.994> versus<00:08:46.379> buy,<00:08:47.581> lease<00:08:47.773> a<00:08:47.902> car<00:08:48.142> versus<00:08:48.479> buy<00:08:48.575> a<00:08:48.719> car,<00:08:49.104> things<00:08:49.280> like<00:08:49.521> that.

00:08:49.826 --> 00:08:54.539
But<00:08:49.938> again,<00:08:50.323> based<00:08:50.643> upon<00:08:50.884> your<00:08:51.124> unique<00:08:51.445> circumstances,<00:08:52.744> that's<00:08:53.449> something<00:08:54.235> we're<00:08:54.299> actively<00:08:54.411> building<00:08:54.507> now.

00:08:55.198 --> 00:09:07.545
And<00:08:55.278> then,<00:08:55.374> of<00:08:55.454> course,<00:08:55.759> you<00:08:55.792> know,<00:08:55.872> the<00:08:56.016> thing,<00:08:56.338> frankly,<00:08:56.562> I'm<00:08:56.739> most<00:08:57.044> excited<00:08:57.397> for<00:08:57.686> is<00:08:57.847> all<00:08:58.007> the<00:08:58.104> agentic<00:08:58.746> workflows<00:08:59.244> and<00:08:59.372> agentic<00:08:59.854> AI<00:09:00.014> that's<00:09:00.271> coming<00:09:00.512> down<00:09:00.673> the<00:09:00.817> pipeline,<00:09:01.475> where<00:09:02.342> one<00:09:02.455> of<00:09:02.519> our<00:09:02.760> missions—<00:09:03.306> our<00:09:03.418> mission<00:09:03.723> initially,<00:09:04.028> I<00:09:04.125> should<00:09:04.301> say,<00:09:04.510> was<00:09:04.606> simplify<00:09:05.168> adulthood,<00:09:05.746> help<00:09:06.035> people<00:09:06.292> navigate<00:09:06.758> all<00:09:06.854> these<00:09:07.015> different<00:09:07.320> things.

00:09:08.074 --> 00:09:12.201
It<00:09:08.107> has<00:09:08.219> now<00:09:08.444> evolved<00:09:08.797> to<00:09:09.407> automate<00:09:09.809> adulthood,<00:09:10.467> which<00:09:10.884> is<00:09:11.013> much<00:09:11.173> more<00:09:11.286> exciting,<00:09:11.751> frankly.

00:09:12.378 --> 00:09:25.999
And<00:09:12.458> the<00:09:12.554> idea<00:09:12.956> there<00:09:13.180> is<00:09:13.357> to<00:09:13.518> do<00:09:14.240> everything<00:09:14.561> we've<00:09:14.706> done<00:09:14.866> in<00:09:14.898> the<00:09:15.027> past,<00:09:15.508> teach<00:09:15.749> you<00:09:15.830> what<00:09:15.926> you<00:09:16.022> need<00:09:16.247> to<00:09:16.343> know,<00:09:17.275> and<00:09:17.676> sort<00:09:17.772> of<00:09:17.997> help<00:09:18.158> you<00:09:18.238> get<00:09:18.415> organized<00:09:18.912> across<00:09:19.362> these<00:09:19.603> things,<00:09:19.940> but<00:09:20.100> then<00:09:20.726> just<00:09:20.886> start<00:09:21.047> taking<00:09:21.319> stuff<00:09:21.608> off<00:09:21.704> your<00:09:21.864> plate,<00:09:22.329> like<00:09:22.569> let<00:09:22.890> us<00:09:23.467> file<00:09:23.771> that<00:09:23.947> claim<00:09:24.188> for<00:09:24.348> you,<00:09:24.508> let<00:09:24.669> us<00:09:24.893> book<00:09:25.053> your<00:09:25.150> doctor's<00:09:25.550> appointment.

00:09:26.592 --> 00:09:31.192
And<00:09:26.688> so<00:09:26.816> I<00:09:26.912> think<00:09:27.313> what's<00:09:27.489> exciting<00:09:27.938> about<00:09:28.291> the<00:09:28.371> next<00:09:28.740> phase<00:09:28.996> of<00:09:29.140> all<00:09:29.220> this<00:09:29.333> technology<00:09:29.861> is<00:09:29.958> that's<00:09:30.214> not<00:09:30.358> that<00:09:30.615> far<00:09:30.919> away.

00:09:31.304 --> 00:09:33.019
And<00:09:31.464> in<00:09:31.544> some<00:09:31.961> cases,<00:09:32.282> it's<00:09:32.442> already<00:09:32.698> here.

00:09:33.564 --> 00:09:39.718
So<00:09:33.948> we<00:09:34.109> want<00:09:34.189> to<00:09:34.285> be<00:09:34.445> the<00:09:34.525> place<00:09:35.006> where<00:09:35.807> you<00:09:35.952> have<00:09:36.208> that<00:09:36.304> sort<00:09:36.449> of<00:09:36.545> centralized<00:09:37.314> life<00:09:37.811> dashboard<00:09:38.372> or<00:09:38.532> copilot,<00:09:39.109> so<00:09:39.205> to<00:09:39.269> speak.

00:09:40.199 --> 00:09:44.911
But<00:09:40.279> then,<00:09:40.535> and<00:09:40.599> it's<00:09:40.776> very<00:09:41.000> much<00:09:41.176> grounded<00:09:41.497> in<00:09:41.577> human,<00:09:42.042> you<00:09:42.074> know,<00:09:42.154> there's<00:09:42.395> a<00:09:42.619> person<00:09:42.859> on<00:09:42.939> the<00:09:43.084> other<00:09:43.180> side<00:09:43.725> that<00:09:43.805> you<00:09:43.901> can<00:09:44.045> talk<00:09:44.302> to.

00:09:45.584 --> 00:09:53.605
We,<00:09:45.888> I<00:09:45.904> can<00:09:46.145> speak<00:09:46.321> a<00:09:46.337> little<00:09:46.545> bit<00:09:46.626> about<00:09:46.882> that,<00:09:47.026> but<00:09:47.106> we<00:09:47.267> offer<00:09:47.651> one-on-one<00:09:48.292> onboarding<00:09:48.789> and<00:09:48.869> things<00:09:49.110> like<00:09:49.270> that<00:09:49.494> with<00:09:49.607> our<00:09:50.473> members,<00:09:51.180> but<00:09:51.372> then<00:09:51.501> a<00:09:51.517> lot<00:09:51.693> of<00:09:51.774> it's<00:09:51.902> just<00:09:52.079> powered<00:09:52.545> by<00:09:53.027> technology.

00:09:53.781 --> 00:09:58.744
So<00:09:53.862> you<00:09:53.926> don't<00:09:54.006> have<00:09:54.167> to<00:09:54.247> sort<00:09:54.472> of<00:09:54.729> take<00:09:54.970> that,<00:09:55.355> get<00:09:55.452> that<00:09:55.612> stuff<00:09:55.918> off<00:09:56.094> of<00:09:56.174> your<00:09:56.319> mental<00:09:56.560> load<00:09:56.721> and<00:09:56.881> off<00:09:57.202> of<00:09:57.443> your<00:09:57.540> plate.

00:09:58.825 --> 00:09:59.579
So<00:09:58.905> we're<00:09:59.049> really<00:09:59.162> excited.

00:09:59.708 --> 00:10:03.402
There's<00:09:59.852> just<00:10:00.190> so<00:10:00.350> much<00:10:00.736> every<00:10:00.912> day<00:10:01.153> coming<00:10:01.475> out<00:10:01.699> that's<00:10:02.358> propelling<00:10:02.743> this<00:10:02.984> all<00:10:03.016> forward.

00:10:03.707 --> 00:10:04.382
Yeah,<00:10:03.884> it's<00:10:04.109> wild.

00:10:04.446 --> 00:10:14.612
Does,<00:10:04.847> does<00:10:05.024> it<00:10:05.169> ever<00:10:05.393> kind<00:10:05.570> of<00:10:05.634> freak<00:10:05.956> you<00:10:06.116> out<00:10:06.389> or<00:10:06.534> get<00:10:06.694> overwhelming<00:10:07.738> or<00:10:08.044> kind<00:10:08.284> of<00:10:08.365> get<00:10:08.461> a<00:10:08.477> little<00:10:08.702> scary<00:10:09.328> given<00:10:09.730> like<00:10:10.228> every<00:10:10.453> single<00:10:10.790> day<00:10:10.886> it<00:10:11.015> seems<00:10:11.256> like<00:10:11.432> there's<00:10:11.657> just<00:10:11.978> major<00:10:12.492> advancements<00:10:13.263> that<00:10:13.360> are<00:10:13.440> changing<00:10:14.227> everything?

00:10:14.661 --> 00:10:16.379
So<00:10:14.869> who<00:10:14.966> knows<00:10:15.207> what<00:10:15.287> it's<00:10:15.448> going<00:10:15.560> to<00:10:15.608> look<00:10:15.769> like<00:10:15.929> tomorrow?

00:10:16.797 --> 00:10:23.553
Is<00:10:17.053> it<00:10:17.117> always<00:10:17.599> like<00:10:17.759> super<00:10:18.080> exciting,<00:10:18.482> great<00:10:18.658> time<00:10:18.883> to<00:10:18.979> build,<00:10:19.445> or<00:10:19.605> is<00:10:19.701> there<00:10:19.862> part<00:10:20.103> of<00:10:20.247> you<00:10:20.407> where<00:10:20.584> like,<00:10:20.809> this<00:10:21.049> is<00:10:21.772> freaking<00:10:22.430> weird,<00:10:22.751> this<00:10:22.991> is<00:10:23.152> wild?

00:10:24.997 --> 00:10:29.764
To<00:10:25.078> be<00:10:25.158> honest,<00:10:25.704> I<00:10:25.800> follow<00:10:26.105> a<00:10:26.185> lot<00:10:26.362> of<00:10:26.442> the<00:10:26.522> newsletters<00:10:27.308> and<00:10:27.389> sometimes<00:10:27.822> it's<00:10:28.031> just<00:10:28.287> like<00:10:28.560> drinking<00:10:29.074> from<00:10:29.186> a<00:10:29.250> fire<00:10:29.571> hose.

00:10:29.812 --> 00:10:31.754
There's<00:10:29.956> just<00:10:30.133> too<00:10:30.358> much<00:10:30.695> to<00:10:30.791> be<00:10:30.871> able<00:10:31.096> to<00:10:31.240> absorb.

00:10:31.962 --> 00:10:36.392
So,<00:10:32.364> sometimes<00:10:32.765> I<00:10:32.797> actually<00:10:33.006> use<00:10:33.246> AI<00:10:33.503> to<00:10:33.744> parse<00:10:34.530> it<00:10:34.611> down<00:10:34.948> and<00:10:35.028> then<00:10:35.188> kind<00:10:35.365> of<00:10:35.493> get<00:10:35.670> the<00:10:35.750> highlights<00:10:36.296> there.

00:10:36.488 --> 00:10:39.120
So,<00:10:36.697> it's<00:10:36.857> almost<00:10:37.034> like<00:10:37.259> using<00:10:37.579> AI<00:10:37.836> for<00:10:38.061> AI.

00:10:39.425 --> 00:10:45.091
But<00:10:39.666> I<00:10:39.682> would<00:10:39.842> say,<00:10:40.468> yeah,<00:10:40.548> I<00:10:40.661> mean,<00:10:40.869> of<00:10:41.046> course,<00:10:41.768> there's<00:10:42.009> always<00:10:42.250> going<00:10:42.346> to<00:10:42.490> be<00:10:43.373> false<00:10:43.839> starts<00:10:44.337> with<00:10:44.417> some<00:10:44.577> of<00:10:44.658> these<00:10:44.883> things.

00:10:45.139 --> 00:10:55.142
You're<00:10:45.204> always<00:10:45.412> going<00:10:45.493> to<00:10:45.557> learn<00:10:45.766> about<00:10:45.958> some<00:10:46.119> technology<00:10:46.665> or<00:10:46.745> hear<00:10:46.906> about<00:10:47.162> some<00:10:48.094> company<00:10:48.495> building<00:10:48.832> something<00:10:49.314> that<00:10:49.796> in<00:10:49.876> theory<00:10:50.197> is<00:10:50.374> amazing,<00:10:50.903> but<00:10:51.000> maybe<00:10:51.305> it's<00:10:51.481> really<00:10:52.027> 5<00:10:52.204> or<00:10:52.284> 6<00:10:52.509> years<00:10:52.750> away<00:10:52.991> as<00:10:53.087> opposed<00:10:53.793> to<00:10:53.890> down<00:10:54.114> the<00:10:54.757> line.

00:10:56.362 --> 00:11:01.002
But<00:10:56.443> I<00:10:56.539> think<00:10:56.844> on<00:10:56.940> the<00:10:56.988> whole,<00:10:57.904> it's<00:10:58.128> more<00:10:58.466> inspiring<00:10:59.027> than<00:10:59.188> it<00:10:59.284> is<00:10:59.429> intimidating<00:11:00.167> at<00:11:00.232> this<00:11:00.392> point.

00:11:01.259 --> 00:11:01.452
Yeah.

00:11:01.580 --> 00:11:02.720
Yeah,<00:11:01.773> that's<00:11:01.998> my<00:11:02.094> sense<00:11:02.399> of<00:11:02.479> it<00:11:02.560> too.

00:11:02.881 --> 00:11:04.647
It's<00:11:03.266> just<00:11:03.780> so<00:11:04.149> wild<00:11:04.486> though.

00:11:04.727 --> 00:11:07.826
Like,<00:11:05.048> it's<00:11:05.514> hard<00:11:05.691> to<00:11:05.755> even<00:11:05.931> keep<00:11:06.172> up<00:11:06.349> sometimes,<00:11:06.814> which<00:11:07.136> is<00:11:07.441> crazy.

00:11:09.623 --> 00:11:11.851
What<00:11:09.767> was<00:11:09.944> like<00:11:10.104> a<00:11:10.248> challenge<00:11:10.969> like<00:11:11.306> to<00:11:11.450> begin<00:11:11.723> with?

00:11:11.931 --> 00:11:13.743
Like<00:11:12.108> you've<00:11:12.268> pivoted<00:11:12.669> a<00:11:12.749> number<00:11:13.053> of<00:11:13.134> times<00:11:13.534> here.

00:11:14.352 --> 00:11:23.762
Like<00:11:14.512> what<00:11:14.656> was<00:11:14.817> a<00:11:14.849> significant<00:11:15.458> challenge<00:11:15.859> in<00:11:15.955> this<00:11:16.179> journey<00:11:16.516> for<00:11:16.596> you<00:11:16.756> that<00:11:16.901> you<00:11:16.981> had<00:11:17.077> to<00:11:17.141> overcome<00:11:17.702> that<00:11:17.862> you<00:11:17.959> think<00:11:18.183> about<00:11:18.439> like,<00:11:19.145> man,<00:11:19.481> the<00:11:19.658> fact<00:11:19.962> that<00:11:20.043> we<00:11:20.187> got<00:11:20.363> over<00:11:20.604> that<00:11:21.004> really<00:11:21.245> kind<00:11:21.421> of<00:11:21.469> cemented<00:11:22.030> that<00:11:22.447> we're<00:11:22.575> going<00:11:22.639> to<00:11:22.752> be<00:11:22.864> a<00:11:22.928> thing<00:11:23.313> for<00:11:23.473> a<00:11:23.553> while.

00:11:23.970 --> 00:11:25.461
We're<00:11:24.130> going<00:11:24.210> to<00:11:24.291> be<00:11:24.451> a<00:11:24.515> going<00:11:24.771> concern.

00:11:26.935 --> 00:11:29.180
Can<00:11:27.080> you<00:11:27.256> think<00:11:27.481> back<00:11:27.657> of<00:11:27.817> any<00:11:28.042> like<00:11:28.202> specific<00:11:28.683> challenge?

00:11:29.484 --> 00:11:29.773
Yes.

00:11:30.045 --> 00:11:33.668
I<00:11:30.398> mean,<00:11:30.622> there's<00:11:31.408> been<00:11:31.504> challenges<00:11:32.065> like<00:11:32.290> every<00:11:32.546> day,<00:11:33.027> to<00:11:33.187> be<00:11:33.412> honest.

00:11:33.732 --> 00:11:38.253
It's<00:11:34.133> one<00:11:34.213> of<00:11:34.309> those<00:11:34.373> things<00:11:34.614> as<00:11:34.710> founders,<00:11:35.816> you<00:11:35.912> just<00:11:36.297> always<00:11:36.618> are<00:11:36.714> dealing<00:11:37.034> with<00:11:37.291> something<00:11:37.740> or<00:11:37.836> another.

00:11:38.461 --> 00:12:05.897
But<00:11:38.942> I<00:11:38.958> think<00:11:39.118> some<00:11:39.343> of<00:11:39.423> the<00:11:39.519> big<00:11:39.760> things<00:11:40.064> for<00:11:40.224> us<00:11:40.545> were<00:11:41.907> really<00:11:42.084> thinking<00:11:42.484> that<00:11:42.644> some<00:11:42.805> of<00:11:42.885> these<00:11:43.045> product<00:11:43.382> iterations<00:11:44.151> or<00:11:44.231> even<00:11:44.487> go-to-market<00:11:45.032> iterations,<00:11:45.769> meaning<00:11:46.571> working<00:11:46.875> with<00:11:46.955> schools<00:11:47.468> versus<00:11:47.772> going<00:11:47.949> direct-to-consumer,<00:11:49.038> thinking<00:11:49.295> it<00:11:49.375> was<00:11:49.679> the<00:11:49.856> thing<00:11:50.160> and<00:11:50.256> putting<00:11:50.593> all<00:11:51.122> of<00:11:51.362> our<00:11:51.538> time<00:11:51.779> and<00:11:51.859> energy<00:11:52.179> in<00:11:52.340> building<00:11:52.804> out<00:11:54.006> everything<00:11:54.343> from<00:11:54.904> marketing<00:11:55.368> plans<00:11:55.929> to<00:11:56.650> resourcing<00:11:57.131> the<00:11:57.291> team<00:11:57.628> to<00:11:57.724> support<00:11:58.173> that<00:11:58.269> vision,<00:11:59.455> to<00:12:00.112> spending<00:12:00.512> months<00:12:00.977> building<00:12:01.298> out<00:12:01.474> some<00:12:01.634> product<00:12:02.019> iteration,<00:12:03.076> and<00:12:03.157> then<00:12:03.301> that<00:12:03.477> not<00:12:03.701> being<00:12:03.878> the<00:12:03.974> right<00:12:04.262> thing<00:12:04.535> and<00:12:04.919> not<00:12:05.224> taking<00:12:05.544> off.

00:12:06.506 --> 00:12:16.115
You<00:12:06.538> know,<00:12:06.698> it's<00:12:06.827> disheartening<00:12:07.308> for<00:12:07.404> your<00:12:07.565> team<00:12:07.902> and<00:12:08.030> also<00:12:08.287> for<00:12:08.511> you<00:12:08.688> as<00:12:08.832> you're<00:12:08.928> sort<00:12:09.105> of<00:12:09.249> like<00:12:09.714> trying<00:12:09.971> to<00:12:10.051> manage<00:12:10.773> what's<00:12:10.934> happening<00:12:11.254> internally,<00:12:11.896> also<00:12:12.843> externally,<00:12:13.356> talking<00:12:13.725> about<00:12:13.965> the<00:12:14.046> company,<00:12:14.383> investors,<00:12:15.104> all<00:12:15.265> of<00:12:15.345> that<00:12:15.570> sort<00:12:15.826> of<00:12:15.907> thing.

00:12:16.693 --> 00:12:22.628
And<00:12:16.933> there<00:12:16.981> were<00:12:17.078> a<00:12:17.110> couple<00:12:17.350> of<00:12:17.495> those<00:12:17.735> moments<00:12:18.136> where<00:12:18.297> we<00:12:18.393> really<00:12:18.634> felt<00:12:18.874> like<00:12:19.035> we<00:12:19.195> had<00:12:19.580> kind<00:12:19.757> of<00:12:19.853> the<00:12:19.933> next<00:12:20.655> piece<00:12:21.104> right<00:12:21.906> and<00:12:22.243> we<00:12:22.323> didn't.

00:12:22.789 --> 00:12:28.965
And<00:12:22.965> it<00:12:23.109> took<00:12:23.286> a<00:12:23.366> lot<00:12:23.542> of<00:12:23.671> time<00:12:24.008> and<00:12:24.152> energy<00:12:24.569> and<00:12:24.714> kind<00:12:24.826> of<00:12:24.970> backpedaling<00:12:25.692> to<00:12:25.853> then<00:12:26.398> realign<00:12:26.959> how<00:12:27.072> we<00:12:27.216> thought<00:12:27.441> about<00:12:27.601> our<00:12:27.713> strategy<00:12:28.339> and<00:12:28.483> all<00:12:28.580> of<00:12:28.724> that.

00:12:29.943 --> 00:12:31.997
That<00:12:30.039> was<00:12:30.489> more<00:12:30.665> frustrating<00:12:31.307> than<00:12:31.451> anything<00:12:31.788> else.

00:12:32.189 --> 00:12:41.328
But<00:12:32.831> I<00:12:32.911> think<00:12:33.392> one<00:12:33.536> of<00:12:33.633> the<00:12:33.777> greatest<00:12:34.049> skills<00:12:34.675> that<00:12:35.220> at<00:12:35.797> least<00:12:36.021> I've<00:12:36.118> built<00:12:36.358> is<00:12:36.454> just<00:12:37.080> one<00:12:37.224> of<00:12:37.256> my<00:12:37.320> strengths<00:12:37.657> is<00:12:37.785> flexibility<00:12:38.426> and<00:12:38.522> sort<00:12:38.619> of<00:12:38.843> being<00:12:39.084> able<00:12:39.244> to<00:12:39.404> look<00:12:39.629> and<00:12:39.725> see,<00:12:40.671> okay,<00:12:40.831> this<00:12:40.927> didn't<00:12:41.152> work.

00:12:41.408 --> 00:12:43.829
Like,<00:12:41.649> let's<00:12:41.873> take<00:12:41.969> a<00:12:41.985> step<00:12:42.210> back<00:12:42.450> and<00:12:42.547> figure<00:12:42.835> out<00:12:42.947> like<00:12:43.156> the<00:12:43.252> next<00:12:43.557> pathway.

00:12:43.893 --> 00:12:46.106
There's<00:12:44.198> always<00:12:44.519> another<00:12:44.775> pathway<00:12:45.481> going<00:12:45.721> forward.

00:12:46.362 --> 00:12:50.884
So<00:12:46.619> that's<00:12:47.020> definitely<00:12:47.517> been<00:12:47.693> sort<00:12:48.222> of<00:12:48.447> one<00:12:48.543> of<00:12:49.088> the<00:12:49.184> biggest<00:12:49.569> consistent<00:12:49.986> challenges<00:12:50.451> we<00:12:50.547> faced.

00:12:51.172 --> 00:13:02.619
What<00:12:51.348> recommendation<00:12:51.829> would<00:12:51.990> you<00:12:52.070> have<00:12:52.391> for<00:12:52.631> those<00:12:53.032> who<00:12:53.834> maybe<00:12:54.635> have<00:12:54.876> to<00:12:55.036> also<00:12:55.357> pivot<00:12:55.741> from<00:12:55.918> B<00:12:56.078> to<00:12:56.174> C,<00:12:56.559> which<00:12:56.735> is<00:12:56.800> what<00:12:56.944> you<00:12:57.040> were<00:12:57.264> doing,<00:12:58.242> going,<00:12:58.563> you<00:12:58.723> know,<00:12:58.884> selling<00:12:59.269> to<00:12:59.766> these<00:13:00.006> universities<00:13:00.808> and,<00:13:01.048> you<00:13:01.144> know,<00:13:01.369> educational<00:13:02.090> institutions.

00:13:03.052 --> 00:13:04.430
To<00:13:03.132> going<00:13:03.437> direct<00:13:03.789> to<00:13:03.917> consumer.

00:13:04.494 --> 00:13:06.353
What<00:13:04.655> are<00:13:04.719> the<00:13:04.895> differences<00:13:05.456> between<00:13:05.776> those<00:13:05.937> two<00:13:06.161> things?

00:13:06.722 --> 00:13:12.314
They<00:13:06.802> are<00:13:06.914> so<00:13:07.299> wildly<00:13:07.699> different,<00:13:08.244> and<00:13:08.484> I<00:13:08.645> wish<00:13:08.757> it's<00:13:09.125> something<00:13:09.446> that<00:13:09.606> I<00:13:09.622> had<00:13:09.863> known<00:13:10.423> earlier<00:13:10.824> in<00:13:10.984> starting<00:13:11.241> this<00:13:11.449> business,<00:13:11.786> to<00:13:11.930> be<00:13:12.090> honest.

00:13:12.427 --> 00:13:19.526
I<00:13:12.443> mean,<00:13:12.907> in<00:13:12.987> business<00:13:13.228> school<00:13:13.388> they<00:13:13.548> teach<00:13:13.773> you<00:13:14.029> some<00:13:14.205> of<00:13:14.334> this<00:13:14.510> stuff,<00:13:14.894> but<00:13:15.071> not<00:13:15.391> the<00:13:15.471> way<00:13:15.712> that<00:13:15.856> you<00:13:15.952> would<00:13:16.096> really<00:13:16.273> need<00:13:16.497> to<00:13:16.593> know,<00:13:16.833> in<00:13:16.994> my<00:13:17.138> opinion<00:13:17.474> at<00:13:17.555> least,<00:13:18.019> um,<00:13:18.740> to<00:13:18.820> start<00:13:19.077> a<00:13:19.141> company.

00:13:20.343 --> 00:13:39.272
One<00:13:20.583> is<00:13:21.080> the<00:13:21.160> team<00:13:21.705> that<00:13:21.801> you<00:13:21.897> need<00:13:22.426> and<00:13:22.522> where<00:13:22.666> you<00:13:22.827> put<00:13:22.987> your<00:13:23.083> resources,<00:13:23.804> because<00:13:24.125> if<00:13:24.269> you're<00:13:24.429> building<00:13:24.766> a<00:13:24.846> B2B-oriented<00:13:26.208> business,<00:13:26.673> you<00:13:26.769> need<00:13:27.490> people—<00:13:28.131> well,<00:13:28.307> it's<00:13:28.756> changing<00:13:28.964> with<00:13:29.109> AI,<00:13:29.253> I<00:13:29.413> should<00:13:29.574> say,<00:13:29.798> but<00:13:29.894> you<00:13:29.990> need<00:13:30.135> like<00:13:30.600> account<00:13:30.952> executives,<00:13:31.642> you<00:13:31.674> need<00:13:31.962> like<00:13:32.155> sales<00:13:32.684> outreach,<00:13:33.165> you<00:13:33.261> need<00:13:33.405> people<00:13:33.661> sourcing<00:13:34.142> who<00:13:34.223> these<00:13:34.383> people,<00:13:35.249> who<00:13:35.345> the<00:13:35.489> right<00:13:35.665> person<00:13:36.050> is<00:13:36.242> at<00:13:36.371> these<00:13:36.547> different<00:13:36.868> companies<00:13:37.317> or<00:13:37.365> institutions<00:13:38.070> to<00:13:38.310> buy<00:13:38.615> your<00:13:38.791> product.

00:13:39.737 --> 00:13:42.046
You<00:13:39.817> also<00:13:39.994> need<00:13:40.138> to<00:13:40.298> build<00:13:40.491> a<00:13:40.699> different<00:13:41.180> product<00:13:41.533> and<00:13:41.661> solution.

00:13:42.142 --> 00:13:47.656
You<00:13:42.174> need<00:13:42.382> something<00:13:42.719> likely<00:13:43.056> that<00:13:43.200> has<00:13:43.617> a<00:13:43.745> dashboard<00:13:44.242> for<00:13:44.402> them<00:13:44.563> to<00:13:44.723> be<00:13:44.819> able<00:13:45.027> to<00:13:45.428> monitor<00:13:45.925> data<00:13:46.166> tracking,<00:13:46.727> all<00:13:46.807> of<00:13:46.951> that<00:13:47.144> sort<00:13:47.352> of<00:13:47.448> a<00:13:47.528> thing.

00:13:48.570 --> 00:13:58.555
And<00:13:48.715> those<00:13:48.907> sales<00:13:49.212> cycles<00:13:49.612> can<00:13:49.692> take<00:13:49.933> a<00:13:50.013> very<00:13:50.334> long<00:13:50.574> time,<00:13:50.895> which<00:13:51.199> I<00:13:51.296> think<00:13:51.520> is<00:13:51.857> actually<00:13:52.097> the<00:13:52.322> most<00:13:52.578> important<00:13:53.059> thing<00:13:53.380> to,<00:13:53.844> most<00:13:54.037> important<00:13:54.806> difference<00:13:55.207> for<00:13:55.447> an<00:13:55.479> early-stage<00:13:55.928> company<00:13:56.424> because<00:13:57.610> one,<00:13:57.866> cash<00:13:58.123> is<00:13:58.267> king.

00:13:58.667 --> 00:14:03.282
So<00:13:58.812> if<00:13:58.972> you're<00:13:59.132> waiting<00:13:59.388> a<00:13:59.404> long<00:13:59.629> time<00:13:59.949> for<00:14:00.093> these<00:14:01.215> contracts<00:14:01.712> to<00:14:01.808> land,<00:14:02.112> that<00:14:02.272> can<00:14:02.433> be<00:14:02.753> frustrating.

00:14:03.859 --> 00:14:10.332
But<00:14:03.955> two,<00:14:04.516> and<00:14:04.740> almost<00:14:05.060> more<00:14:05.140> importantly,<00:14:05.781> you<00:14:05.958> don't<00:14:06.182> get<00:14:06.438> really<00:14:06.775> solid<00:14:07.319> feedback<00:14:07.800> on<00:14:07.944> your<00:14:08.104> product<00:14:08.777> for<00:14:09.386> long<00:14:09.643> periods<00:14:10.027> of<00:14:10.107> time.

00:14:10.860 --> 00:14:23.229
So<00:14:11.101> if<00:14:11.181> you<00:14:11.261> have<00:14:11.405> a<00:14:11.469> product<00:14:11.950> and<00:14:12.046> it<00:14:12.206> takes<00:14:12.511> you<00:14:12.767> 3<00:14:12.991> to<00:14:13.023> 6<00:14:13.328> months<00:14:13.568> to<00:14:13.664> get<00:14:13.808> in<00:14:13.953> the<00:14:14.049> hands<00:14:14.513> of<00:14:14.674> your<00:14:14.930> user,<00:14:15.475> whether<00:14:15.651> that's<00:14:16.308> someone<00:14:16.628> who's<00:14:16.772> working<00:14:17.013> at<00:14:17.173> the<00:14:17.237> company<00:14:17.574> or<00:14:17.734> their<00:14:17.894> team<00:14:18.295> or<00:14:18.359> whatever<00:14:18.663> it<00:14:18.759> might<00:14:18.935> be,<00:14:19.737> your<00:14:19.817> product<00:14:20.073> might<00:14:20.217> actually<00:14:20.458> not<00:14:20.618> be<00:14:20.714> that<00:14:21.002> good,<00:14:21.403> but<00:14:21.499> it<00:14:21.579> takes<00:14:21.884> you<00:14:21.964> 6<00:14:22.300> months<00:14:22.476> to<00:14:22.605> get<00:14:22.701> feedback.

00:14:24.150 --> 00:14:28.040
Versus<00:14:24.550> direct-to-consumer<00:14:25.190> side,<00:14:25.890> we<00:14:25.990> can<00:14:26.090> have<00:14:26.310> 10,000<00:14:26.630> people<00:14:26.910> sign<00:14:27.070> up<00:14:27.190> in<00:14:27.270> a<00:14:27.490> month.

00:14:28.070 --> 00:14:30.710
If<00:14:28.270> half<00:14:28.430> of<00:14:28.590> them<00:14:28.710> churn,<00:14:29.270> we're<00:14:29.410> like,<00:14:29.590> oh,<00:14:29.670> okay,<00:14:29.970> something's<00:14:30.390> wrong.

00:14:30.710 --> 00:14:32.550
Like,<00:14:30.950> let's<00:14:31.090> figure<00:14:31.330> out<00:14:31.470> how<00:14:31.590> to<00:14:31.710> change<00:14:31.950> this.

00:14:33.130 --> 00:14:36.990
Or<00:14:33.230> if,<00:14:33.450> you<00:14:33.570> know,<00:14:33.670> tons<00:14:33.910> of<00:14:33.990> them<00:14:34.150> start<00:14:34.350> paying<00:14:34.610> for<00:14:34.790> the<00:14:34.890> product,<00:14:35.270> we're<00:14:35.430> like,<00:14:35.550> okay,<00:14:35.690> something's<00:14:36.050> going<00:14:36.290> right.

00:14:36.990 --> 00:14:44.410
So<00:14:37.190> you<00:14:37.191> just<00:14:37.330> have<00:14:37.510> such<00:14:37.670> a<00:14:37.890> larger—<00:14:38.570> you<00:14:38.571> have<00:14:38.710> such<00:14:38.850> a<00:14:39.170> faster<00:14:39.610> iteration<00:14:40.270> cycle<00:14:40.670> in<00:14:40.830> terms<00:14:41.050> of<00:14:41.230> what<00:14:41.390> you<00:14:41.510> need<00:14:41.870> to<00:14:42.350> or<00:14:42.750> what<00:14:42.910> you<00:14:42.930> can<00:14:43.090> learn<00:14:43.390> if<00:14:43.730> you<00:14:43.850> go<00:14:44.010> direct-to-consumer.

00:14:45.130 --> 00:14:53.180
The<00:14:45.430> flip<00:14:45.630> side<00:14:45.730> of<00:14:45.970> that<00:14:46.110> is<00:14:46.490> you<00:14:46.710> don't<00:14:46.850> necessarily<00:14:47.270> need<00:14:47.510> quite<00:14:47.650> as<00:14:47.830> many<00:14:47.990> people,<00:14:48.330> but<00:14:48.510> you<00:14:48.630> do<00:14:48.790> need<00:14:48.910> more<00:14:49.070> money<00:14:49.410> because<00:14:49.870> you<00:14:50.450> have<00:14:50.610> to<00:14:50.750> get<00:14:50.910> in<00:14:51.130> front<00:14:51.230> of—<00:14:51.970> have<00:14:52.230> to<00:14:52.330> get<00:14:52.430> in<00:14:52.570> front<00:14:52.571> of<00:14:52.710> them<00:14:52.830> somehow.

00:14:53.250 --> 00:14:59.910
And<00:14:53.270> obviously<00:14:53.290> if<00:14:53.310> you<00:14:53.330> can<00:14:53.350> build<00:14:55.430> product-led<00:14:55.930> strategies,<00:14:56.810> product-led<00:14:57.090> growth<00:14:57.270> strategies,<00:14:57.850> or<00:14:57.930> organic<00:14:58.290> growth,<00:14:58.730> that's<00:14:58.910> different.

00:14:59.910 --> 00:15:04.690
But<00:14:59.911> oftentimes<00:15:00.570> you<00:15:00.790> have<00:15:00.870> to<00:15:01.010> rely<00:15:01.170> on<00:15:01.370> some<00:15:01.730> paid<00:15:02.010> media<00:15:02.230> and<00:15:02.410> marketing<00:15:02.610> to<00:15:02.810> get<00:15:02.990> started,<00:15:03.410> so<00:15:03.610> it<00:15:03.670> can<00:15:03.790> be<00:15:03.910> a<00:15:03.970> little<00:15:04.130> bit<00:15:04.290> more<00:15:04.390> costly.

00:15:05.690 --> 00:15:23.310
I<00:15:05.870> think<00:15:05.990> the<00:15:06.090> other<00:15:06.290> thing<00:15:06.530> is<00:15:06.810> investing<00:15:07.290> in<00:15:07.890> brand<00:15:08.450> and<00:15:08.630> investing<00:15:09.110> in<00:15:09.510> storytelling<00:15:10.070> and<00:15:10.350> sort<00:15:10.550> of<00:15:10.730> the<00:15:11.210> design<00:15:11.850> and<00:15:11.970> the<00:15:12.170> entire<00:15:12.450> product<00:15:12.810> experience<00:15:13.290> is<00:15:13.510> just<00:15:13.970> so<00:15:14.370> much<00:15:14.550> more<00:15:14.810> important<00:15:15.050> at<00:15:15.210> the<00:15:15.290> consumer<00:15:15.670> level<00:15:15.970> than<00:15:16.150> it<00:15:16.290> is<00:15:16.510> on<00:15:16.690> the<00:15:16.870> B2B<00:15:17.170> side,<00:15:18.010> which<00:15:18.390> ultimately,<00:15:18.870> in<00:15:19.230> my<00:15:19.290> opinion,<00:15:19.530> leads<00:15:19.730> to<00:15:19.910> a<00:15:20.030> better<00:15:20.170> quality<00:15:20.650> product<00:15:21.170> but<00:15:21.510> can<00:15:22.070> take<00:15:22.110> a<00:15:22.310> lot<00:15:22.450> more<00:15:22.810> time.

00:15:23.670 --> 00:15:31.356
What<00:15:23.690> is<00:15:23.950> the—<00:15:24.530> what<00:15:24.531> has<00:15:24.810> been<00:15:24.970> the<00:15:25.070> response<00:15:25.190> from<00:15:25.210> kind<00:15:25.230> of—<00:15:25.250> and<00:15:25.270> it's<00:15:25.290> mostly<00:15:27.126> young<00:15:27.302> adults,<00:15:27.702> right,<00:15:28.023> who<00:15:28.247> use<00:15:28.439> the<00:15:28.520> product<00:15:29.048> and<00:15:29.145> are<00:15:29.385> kind<00:15:29.545> of<00:15:30.250> focused<00:15:30.571> on<00:15:30.731> how<00:15:30.827> do<00:15:30.907> we<00:15:31.067> do<00:15:31.212> this.

00:15:31.452 --> 00:15:38.887
And<00:15:32.013> you<00:15:32.253> have<00:15:32.429> a<00:15:32.494> really<00:15:32.734> interesting<00:15:33.070> situation<00:15:33.439> because<00:15:33.631> like<00:15:34.416> they're<00:15:34.577> likely<00:15:34.913> going<00:15:35.025> to<00:15:35.154> want<00:15:35.378> to<00:15:35.474> continue<00:15:35.939> to<00:15:36.019> use<00:15:36.131> the<00:15:36.275> product<00:15:36.612> in<00:15:36.676> like<00:15:36.900> 10<00:15:37.076> years,<00:15:37.621> right,<00:15:38.038> in<00:15:38.278> 20<00:15:38.583> years.

00:15:38.999 --> 00:15:44.800
And<00:15:39.079> like,<00:15:39.656> so<00:15:39.816> you're<00:15:39.961> kind<00:15:40.137> of<00:15:40.185> going<00:15:40.265> to<00:15:40.361> grow<00:15:40.746> with<00:15:41.002> them,<00:15:41.243> the<00:15:41.387> product<00:15:41.723> will<00:15:41.868> grow<00:15:42.044> with<00:15:42.188> them<00:15:42.300> and<00:15:42.428> all<00:15:42.509> that<00:15:42.605> type<00:15:42.669> of<00:15:42.781> stuff,<00:15:43.390> which<00:15:43.486> seems<00:15:43.806> like<00:15:43.967> really<00:15:44.287> exciting.

00:15:45.393 --> 00:15:53.741
But<00:15:46.050> talking<00:15:46.290> about<00:15:46.466> the<00:15:46.595> feedback,<00:15:47.027> like<00:15:47.252> what,<00:15:47.492> what's<00:15:47.732> like<00:15:47.909> a<00:15:48.037> common<00:15:48.453> piece<00:15:48.694> of<00:15:48.758> feedback<00:15:49.174> you<00:15:49.319> get<00:15:49.415> from<00:15:49.639> your<00:15:49.880> users<00:15:50.216> about<00:15:50.440> how<00:15:50.537> they<00:15:50.777> implement<00:15:51.402> it<00:15:51.578> and<00:15:51.738> use<00:15:52.123> it<00:15:52.700> and<00:15:52.844> how<00:15:52.956> it's<00:15:53.180> changed<00:15:53.421> their<00:15:53.581> life?

00:15:54.303 --> 00:16:04.419
I<00:15:54.383> think<00:15:54.608> the<00:15:54.785> biggest<00:15:55.250> thing,<00:15:55.652> and<00:15:55.909> this<00:15:56.133> gets<00:15:56.310> back<00:15:56.567> to<00:15:57.418> honestly<00:15:57.755> the<00:15:57.916> earliest<00:15:58.317> origin<00:15:58.606> of<00:15:58.719> the<00:15:58.799> company,<00:15:59.345> was<00:16:00.148> one<00:16:00.308> thing<00:16:00.549> Real<00:16:00.726> World<00:16:00.950> does<00:16:01.207> very<00:16:01.609> well<00:16:02.107> is<00:16:02.251> defines<00:16:03.295> adulthood,<00:16:03.873> so<00:16:04.082> to<00:16:04.114> speak.

00:16:04.595 --> 00:16:09.798
It<00:16:04.724> helps<00:16:04.981> you<00:16:05.061> figure<00:16:05.607> out<00:16:06.185> the<00:16:06.329> things<00:16:06.522> you<00:16:06.667> don't<00:16:06.891> know<00:16:06.988> that<00:16:07.148> you<00:16:07.245> don't<00:16:07.550> know,<00:16:08.015> which<00:16:08.818> is<00:16:08.995> really<00:16:09.236> hard<00:16:09.493> to<00:16:09.637> do.

00:16:09.878 --> 00:16:14.342
And<00:16:09.958> it's<00:16:10.119> one<00:16:10.199> of<00:16:10.263> the<00:16:10.344> reasons<00:16:10.697> why<00:16:10.986> adulthood,<00:16:11.805> life,<00:16:12.351> whatever<00:16:12.592> you<00:16:12.688> want<00:16:12.816> to<00:16:12.848> call<00:16:13.170> it,<00:16:13.250> can<00:16:13.410> be<00:16:13.555> very<00:16:13.812> overwhelming.

00:16:14.518 --> 00:16:19.287
Because<00:16:14.952> if<00:16:15.080> you<00:16:15.241> don't<00:16:15.578> know<00:16:15.803> the<00:16:15.899> rules<00:16:16.140> of<00:16:16.220> the<00:16:16.365> game,<00:16:17.103> then<00:16:17.200> you're<00:16:17.312> expected<00:16:17.746> to<00:16:17.890> go<00:16:18.003> figure<00:16:18.452> all<00:16:18.549> this<00:16:18.629> stuff<00:16:19.014> out.

00:16:19.400 --> 00:16:26.920
Can<00:16:19.860> be<00:16:20.260> very<00:16:20.261> frustrating<00:16:20.920> even<00:16:21.240> for<00:16:21.460> the<00:16:21.640> smartest,<00:16:22.360> most<00:16:22.480> educated,<00:16:23.380> most,<00:16:23.660> you<00:16:23.720> know,<00:16:24.460> set<00:16:24.640> up<00:16:24.880> person<00:16:25.380> to<00:16:26.000> sort<00:16:26.180> of<00:16:26.320> decipher.

00:16:27.480 --> 00:16:32.720
And<00:16:27.560> so<00:16:27.640> I<00:16:27.720> think<00:16:27.900> that<00:16:28.360> the<00:16:28.380> biggest<00:16:28.820> piece<00:16:29.160> of<00:16:29.260> feedback<00:16:29.500> has<00:16:29.740> always<00:16:29.980> been<00:16:30.440> it's<00:16:31.040> everything<00:16:31.280> in<00:16:31.460> one<00:16:31.640> place,<00:16:31.980> which<00:16:32.240> is<00:16:32.360> amazing.

00:16:32.720 --> 00:16:34.900
I<00:16:32.840> don't<00:16:32.900> have<00:16:33.040> to<00:16:33.060> go<00:16:33.160> to<00:16:33.220> all<00:16:33.320> these<00:16:33.440> different<00:16:33.680> apps<00:16:33.980> or<00:16:34.180> research<00:16:34.600> things.

00:16:35.090 --> 00:16:40.480
And<00:16:35.540> also<00:16:35.760> it's<00:16:35.940> helping<00:16:36.160> me<00:16:36.400> make<00:16:36.560> sure<00:16:36.720> that<00:16:36.880> I<00:16:37.060> have<00:16:37.260> this<00:16:37.440> sense<00:16:37.700> of<00:16:37.940> peace<00:16:38.140> of<00:16:38.360> mind<00:16:38.740> that<00:16:39.020> there's<00:16:39.600> no<00:16:39.800> blind<00:16:40.100> spot.

00:16:40.480 --> 00:16:49.540
I'm<00:16:40.680> not<00:16:40.840> forgetting<00:16:41.300> that<00:16:41.720> there's<00:16:42.080> open<00:16:42.320> enrollment<00:16:42.660> you<00:16:42.800> have<00:16:42.960> to<00:16:43.000> deal<00:16:43.160> with<00:16:43.320> for<00:16:43.460> health<00:16:43.660> insurance,<00:16:44.100> or<00:16:44.360> did<00:16:44.540> you<00:16:44.720> sign<00:16:44.980> up<00:16:45.100> for<00:16:45.220> your<00:16:45.440> 401<00:16:46.080> or,<00:16:46.860> you<00:16:47.300> know,<00:16:47.680> TSA<00:16:47.960> PreCheck<00:16:48.300> numbers,<00:16:48.780> frequent<00:16:48.900> flyer<00:16:49.220> numbers,<00:16:49.380> like<00:16:49.400> it's<00:16:49.420> all<00:16:49.440> of<00:16:49.460> this<00:16:49.480> stuff<00:16:49.500> in<00:16:49.520> one.

00:16:51.260 --> 00:16:52.880
Sort<00:16:51.620> of<00:16:52.300> place.

00:16:52.880 --> 00:16:58.300
And<00:16:52.920> so<00:16:53.020> I<00:16:53.060> think<00:16:53.420> that's<00:16:53.520> been<00:16:53.760> a<00:16:53.880> consistent<00:16:54.800> sort<00:16:55.760> of<00:16:56.060> positive<00:16:56.640> piece<00:16:56.940> of<00:16:57.020> feedback<00:16:57.280> we've<00:16:57.640> heard.

00:16:58.300 --> 00:17:02.920
But<00:16:58.380> to<00:16:58.500> your<00:16:58.600> earlier<00:16:58.900> point,<00:16:59.440> just<00:16:59.460> about,<00:17:00.040> you<00:17:00.041> know,<00:17:00.520> ideally<00:17:00.660> people<00:17:00.940> will<00:17:01.180> use<00:17:01.280> this<00:17:01.500> for<00:17:01.720> 10+<00:17:02.320> years.

00:17:03.320 --> 00:17:14.900
It's<00:17:03.380> actually<00:17:03.560> something<00:17:03.740> we've<00:17:03.980> thought<00:17:04.080> deeply<00:17:04.360> about<00:17:04.660> over<00:17:04.860> the<00:17:05.020> years<00:17:05.340> of<00:17:05.620> how<00:17:05.840> do<00:17:06.060> we<00:17:06.600> help<00:17:06.920> you<00:17:07.140> get<00:17:07.220> the<00:17:07.360> foundations<00:17:07.820> right<00:17:08.140> as<00:17:08.320> an<00:17:08.520> individual,<00:17:09.200> whether<00:17:09.220> that's<00:17:10.060> at<00:17:10.200> age<00:17:10.340> 22,<00:17:11.120> 32,<00:17:11.860> 42,<00:17:12.220> 52,<00:17:12.700> whatever<00:17:12.940> age,<00:17:13.460> you<00:17:13.500> know,<00:17:13.600> you're<00:17:13.680> sort<00:17:13.840> of<00:17:14.040> in<00:17:14.140> that<00:17:14.400> moment.

00:17:15.180 --> 00:17:18.380
But<00:17:15.320> then<00:17:15.480> how<00:17:15.600> do<00:17:15.760> we<00:17:15.880> grow<00:17:16.060> with<00:17:16.220> you<00:17:16.400> through<00:17:16.600> each<00:17:16.760> life<00:17:17.200> moment<00:17:17.480> or<00:17:17.760> life<00:17:17.980> stage?

00:17:18.902 --> 00:17:26.619
And<00:17:18.982> so<00:17:19.207> what<00:17:19.303> we've<00:17:19.464> done<00:17:19.720> is<00:17:19.865> actually<00:17:20.169> identify<00:17:20.907> the<00:17:20.988> top<00:17:21.389> 15<00:17:22.191> life<00:17:22.496> transitions,<00:17:23.234> life<00:17:23.410> stages,<00:17:23.875> whatever<00:17:24.116> you<00:17:24.260> want<00:17:24.373> to<00:17:24.501> call<00:17:24.742> it,<00:17:25.704> that<00:17:25.865> people<00:17:26.105> go<00:17:26.282> through.

00:17:26.843 --> 00:17:31.287
And<00:17:26.988> then<00:17:27.308> we're<00:17:27.485> building<00:17:28.030> out<00:17:28.287> workflows<00:17:28.865> to<00:17:28.993> help<00:17:29.314> you<00:17:29.490> essentially<00:17:29.891> navigate<00:17:30.357> each<00:17:30.453> of<00:17:30.533> those<00:17:30.693> things<00:17:31.014> in<00:17:31.078> turn.

00:17:31.897 --> 00:17:42.774
So<00:17:31.977> an<00:17:32.057> example<00:17:32.442> could<00:17:32.538> be<00:17:32.683> anything<00:17:33.036> from<00:17:34.287> buying<00:17:34.560> a<00:17:34.608> house<00:17:35.105> to<00:17:35.362> switching<00:17:35.891> jobs<00:17:36.469> to<00:17:37.335> moving<00:17:37.592> somewhere,<00:17:38.073> getting<00:17:38.314> married,<00:17:38.795> having<00:17:39.036> a<00:17:39.180> child,<00:17:39.822> any<00:17:39.998> of<00:17:40.095> these<00:17:40.303> kind<00:17:40.415> of<00:17:40.576> moments<00:17:41.121> where,<00:17:41.923> you<00:17:42.004> know,<00:17:42.164> life<00:17:42.405> changes.

00:17:42.870 --> 00:17:48.501
Your<00:17:42.966> insurance<00:17:43.512> might<00:17:43.688> change,<00:17:44.025> you<00:17:44.089> might<00:17:44.153> have<00:17:44.266> different<00:17:44.619> financial<00:17:44.972> picture,<00:17:45.373> there<00:17:45.469> might<00:17:45.677> be<00:17:45.838> health-related<00:17:46.496> questions,<00:17:47.041> career-related<00:17:47.570> questions,<00:17:48.100> etc.

00:17:48.966 --> 00:17:54.602
Kind<00:17:49.127> of<00:17:49.159> try<00:17:49.288> and<00:17:49.464> like<00:17:49.641> simplify<00:17:50.749> and,<00:17:51.616> and,<00:17:52.178> you<00:17:52.226> know,<00:17:52.499> create<00:17:52.740> less<00:17:52.981> anxiety<00:17:53.398> around<00:17:53.703> those<00:17:53.880> different<00:17:54.121> moments.

00:17:54.683 --> 00:17:59.275
And<00:17:54.827> so<00:17:54.859> our<00:17:55.068> hope<00:17:55.405> is<00:17:55.566> that<00:17:56.031> people<00:17:56.352> join<00:17:56.674> us<00:17:57.155> and<00:17:57.284> sort<00:17:57.492> of<00:17:57.653> get<00:17:57.814> their<00:17:57.974> life<00:17:58.199> set<00:17:58.440> up<00:17:58.536> within<00:17:58.841> Real<00:17:59.002> World.

00:17:59.724 --> 00:18:03.000
We'll<00:17:59.981> be<00:18:00.126> there<00:18:00.222> for<00:18:00.399> whatever<00:18:01.025> life<00:18:01.330> throws<00:18:01.587> at<00:18:01.667> them<00:18:02.053> throughout<00:18:02.309> those<00:18:02.534> next<00:18:02.647> stages.

00:18:03.353 --> 00:18:05.762
What<00:18:03.449> does<00:18:03.594> a<00:18:03.674> typical<00:18:03.995> day<00:18:04.156> look<00:18:04.317> like<00:18:04.477> for<00:18:04.702> you<00:18:05.023> as<00:18:05.200> CEO?

00:18:05.938 --> 00:18:07.062
It's<00:18:06.564> a<00:18:06.629> good<00:18:06.789> question.

00:18:07.126 --> 00:18:11.237
I<00:18:07.191> mean,<00:18:07.672> as<00:18:07.849> early-stage<00:18:08.315> founder,<00:18:08.652> every<00:18:08.812> day<00:18:08.973> is<00:18:09.117> kind<00:18:09.374> of<00:18:09.471> different,<00:18:10.643> which<00:18:10.819> is<00:18:10.964> great.

00:18:11.317 --> 00:18:12.746
It's<00:18:11.462> an<00:18:11.542> exciting<00:18:11.943> part<00:18:12.168> of<00:18:12.265> the<00:18:12.345> job.

00:18:13.389 --> 00:18:38.205
But<00:18:13.533> I'd<00:18:13.629> say<00:18:14.448> Some<00:18:14.592> habits<00:18:14.993> that<00:18:15.137> I've<00:18:15.297> introduced<00:18:15.875> that<00:18:16.115> have<00:18:16.275> really<00:18:16.516> helped<00:18:16.917> me<00:18:17.157> kind<00:18:17.397> of,<00:18:17.718> I<00:18:18.760> don't<00:18:18.920> know,<00:18:19.225> just<00:18:19.545> roll<00:18:19.882> with<00:18:20.042> all<00:18:20.203> the<00:18:20.299> different<00:18:20.523> punches<00:18:21.004> and<00:18:21.084> be<00:18:21.245> able<00:18:21.421> to<00:18:21.565> kind<00:18:21.726> of<00:18:21.790> have<00:18:21.966> a<00:18:22.030> clear<00:18:22.271> mind<00:18:22.463> each<00:18:22.671> day<00:18:22.848> is<00:18:23.569> I<00:18:23.649> get<00:18:23.793> up<00:18:23.874> at<00:18:23.954> 4<00:18:24.130> in<00:18:24.210> the<00:18:24.290> morning<00:18:24.996> and<00:18:25.332> I<00:18:25.413> have<00:18:25.974> a<00:18:26.134> very<00:18:26.599> kind<00:18:26.711> of<00:18:26.791> structured<00:18:27.737> early<00:18:27.913> morning<00:18:28.282> routine<00:18:28.859> that<00:18:28.987> it's<00:18:29.725> everything<00:18:30.061> from<00:18:30.542> reading<00:18:31.023> to<00:18:31.648> thinking<00:18:31.905> about<00:18:32.145> priorities<00:18:32.690> for<00:18:32.851> the<00:18:33.011> week<00:18:33.989> to<00:18:34.069> meditation<00:18:34.710> to<00:18:34.854> all<00:18:34.966> of<00:18:35.095> that<00:18:35.672> sort<00:18:35.848> of<00:18:36.057> thing<00:18:36.858> before<00:18:37.115> really<00:18:37.419> the<00:18:37.515> day<00:18:37.756> begins.

00:18:38.461 --> 00:18:50.796
And<00:18:38.782> it's<00:18:39.359> been<00:18:39.455> a<00:18:39.679> really<00:18:40.080> life-changing,<00:18:40.962> kind<00:18:41.106> of<00:18:41.202> game-changing<00:18:42.084> practice<00:18:42.629> for<00:18:42.709> me<00:18:42.901> just<00:18:43.126> because<00:18:43.446> I<00:18:43.527> feel<00:18:43.623> like<00:18:43.847> I've<00:18:43.943> already<00:18:44.232> accomplished<00:18:44.729> a<00:18:44.793> lot<00:18:45.049> by<00:18:45.130> the<00:18:45.210> time<00:18:45.514> most<00:18:45.755> people<00:18:46.027> get<00:18:46.140> get<00:18:46.236> up<00:18:46.477> and<00:18:46.573> then<00:18:47.440> whatever<00:18:47.697> the<00:18:47.858> day<00:18:48.098> throws<00:18:48.420> at<00:18:48.484> me,<00:18:48.564> I've<00:18:48.676> at<00:18:48.757> least<00:18:48.982> had<00:18:49.142> that<00:18:49.303> kind<00:18:49.479> of<00:18:49.608> protected<00:18:50.089> time<00:18:50.202> in<00:18:50.330> the<00:18:50.427> morning.

00:18:50.973 --> 00:18:52.723
So,<00:18:51.535> that's<00:18:51.968> certainly<00:18:52.353> one<00:18:52.578> thing.

00:18:52.819 --> 00:18:54.698
And<00:18:52.899> then,<00:18:53.381> exercise<00:18:53.815> is<00:18:53.895> really<00:18:54.039> important<00:18:54.441> to<00:18:54.537> me.

00:18:54.762 --> 00:19:02.533
So,<00:18:54.826> I<00:18:54.922> try<00:18:55.067> and<00:18:55.228> incorporate<00:18:55.709> that<00:18:55.870> at<00:18:55.966> least<00:18:56.528> once<00:18:56.833> at<00:18:56.913> the<00:18:56.994> end<00:18:57.154> of<00:18:57.251> the<00:18:57.331> day<00:18:58.214> before<00:18:59.563> family<00:18:59.820> time<00:19:00.221> or<00:19:00.607> networking<00:19:01.104> or<00:19:01.185> whatever<00:19:01.506> is<00:19:01.827> happening<00:19:02.148> in<00:19:02.228> the<00:19:02.309> evening.

00:19:03.416 --> 00:19:03.657
Yeah.

00:19:03.818 --> 00:19:06.371
What<00:19:03.914> do<00:19:03.978> you<00:19:04.155> read<00:19:04.556> and<00:19:04.701> what<00:19:04.942> reading<00:19:05.183> recommendations<00:19:05.745> would<00:19:05.857> you<00:19:05.985> have<00:19:06.082> for<00:19:06.242> us?

00:19:06.628 --> 00:19:06.692
Hoo.

00:19:08.089 --> 00:19:10.433
So,<00:19:08.233> in<00:19:08.266> the<00:19:08.330> mornings,<00:19:08.908> I'll<00:19:09.117> try<00:19:09.373> and<00:19:09.534> do<00:19:09.855> one<00:19:10.016> of<00:19:10.176> two<00:19:10.337> things.

00:19:10.481 --> 00:19:18.770
I'll<00:19:10.899> either<00:19:11.220> read<00:19:13.210> industry-oriented,<00:19:13.710> you<00:19:14.510> know,<00:19:15.510> newsletters,<00:19:16.590> or<00:19:16.670> I'll<00:19:16.930> save<00:19:17.170> articles<00:19:17.530> for<00:19:17.770> things<00:19:17.930> that<00:19:18.090> I<00:19:18.130> think<00:19:18.230> are<00:19:18.370> interesting.

00:19:18.930 --> 00:19:21.210
I<00:19:18.950> use<00:19:19.230> something<00:19:19.810> called<00:19:20.030> a<00:19:20.110> Remarkable<00:19:20.750> tablet.

00:19:21.210 --> 00:19:22.450
I<00:19:21.211> don't<00:19:21.330> know<00:19:21.430> if<00:19:21.470> you've<00:19:21.610> ever<00:19:21.770> come<00:19:21.890> across<00:19:22.150> it.

00:19:22.530 --> 00:19:23.590
Yeah,<00:19:22.930> yeah,<00:19:23.050> it's<00:19:23.150> cool.

00:19:23.590 --> 00:19:24.570
I<00:19:23.750> love<00:19:24.130> it.

00:19:24.570 --> 00:19:30.310
But<00:19:24.950> it's<00:19:25.090> just<00:19:25.270> a<00:19:25.430> really<00:19:25.630> great<00:19:25.870> way<00:19:26.090> to,<00:19:26.510> you<00:19:26.610> know,<00:19:26.870> take<00:19:26.930> all<00:19:27.090> these<00:19:27.210> different<00:19:27.430> articles,<00:19:27.729> save<00:19:28.049> them,<00:19:28.370> and<00:19:28.410> have<00:19:28.550> a<00:19:28.830> nice<00:19:29.030> format<00:19:29.410> to<00:19:29.610> read<00:19:29.810> them.

00:19:30.550 --> 00:19:31.370
So<00:19:30.710> I'll<00:19:30.850> do<00:19:30.970> that.

00:19:31.470 --> 00:19:38.370
And<00:19:31.550> I'll<00:19:31.670> typically<00:19:31.990> have<00:19:32.330> like<00:19:32.590> one<00:19:33.110> kind<00:19:33.450> of<00:19:33.590> business-oriented<00:19:34.370> book<00:19:34.810> or<00:19:35.010> like<00:19:35.190> productivity-oriented<00:19:36.030> book<00:19:36.330> that<00:19:36.470> I'm<00:19:36.670> going<00:19:36.830> through<00:19:37.150> that<00:19:37.290> I<00:19:37.390> try<00:19:37.610> and<00:19:37.790> read<00:19:37.870> in<00:19:37.970> the<00:19:38.110> morning.

00:19:38.926 --> 00:19:47.150
And<00:19:39.343> this<00:19:39.423> has<00:19:39.583> been<00:19:39.728> everything<00:19:40.144> from<00:19:40.369> like<00:19:40.962> Stretch<00:19:41.667> to<00:19:41.908> The<00:19:42.052> 5<00:19:42.293> AM<00:19:42.613> Club<00:19:43.110> to<00:19:43.431> like<00:19:43.735> any<00:19:43.896> of<00:19:44.056> those<00:19:44.393> more<00:19:45.595> business/productivity<00:19:46.878> books.

00:19:48.385 --> 00:19:54.589
One<00:19:48.561> book—<00:19:49.026> well,<00:19:49.202> what<00:19:49.314> I'm<00:19:49.427> reading<00:19:49.619> right<00:19:49.763> now<00:19:49.988> is<00:19:50.324> not<00:19:50.485> really<00:19:50.645> a<00:19:50.725> business<00:19:51.126> book,<00:19:51.350> but<00:19:51.447> it's<00:19:52.489> Yuval<00:19:52.873> Harari's<00:19:53.595> Homo<00:19:53.931> Deus<00:19:54.396> book.

00:19:54.637 --> 00:19:57.426
It's<00:19:54.797> the<00:19:54.893> sequel<00:19:55.374> to<00:19:55.615> Sapiens.

00:19:57.523 --> 00:19:59.238
Yeah,<00:19:57.715> yeah,<00:19:58.661> it's<00:19:59.046> great.

00:19:59.302 --> 00:20:00.921
The<00:19:59.382> first<00:19:59.607> one<00:19:59.703> was<00:20:00.039> Sapiens<00:20:00.392> was<00:20:00.504> amazing.

00:20:00.985 --> 00:20:04.785
He<00:20:01.017> has<00:20:01.146> another<00:20:01.450> one<00:20:01.627> called<00:20:01.787> Nexus<00:20:02.412> that<00:20:02.685> is<00:20:02.893> more<00:20:03.005> around<00:20:03.310> AI<00:20:03.615> and<00:20:03.775> kind<00:20:03.935> of<00:20:03.967> information<00:20:04.496> networks.

00:20:04.833 --> 00:20:13.777
I'm<00:20:04.929> excited<00:20:05.314> to<00:20:05.410> read,<00:20:06.196> but<00:20:06.372> sometimes<00:20:06.837> it's<00:20:07.238> just<00:20:07.462> getting<00:20:07.783> out<00:20:07.943> of<00:20:08.119> the<00:20:09.402> you<00:20:09.482> know,<00:20:09.642> super<00:20:10.043> tech<00:20:10.620> zone<00:20:11.021> and<00:20:11.149> sort<00:20:11.245> of<00:20:11.325> thinking<00:20:11.646> a<00:20:11.790> bit<00:20:12.191> bigger<00:20:12.447> picture<00:20:12.751> around<00:20:13.008> some<00:20:13.168> of<00:20:13.264> these<00:20:13.489> things.

00:20:14.835 --> 00:20:32.529
But<00:20:14.931> one<00:20:15.156> book<00:20:15.268> that<00:20:15.396> I<00:20:15.412> always<00:20:15.636> recommend<00:20:16.213> is<00:20:16.934> the<00:20:17.255> story<00:20:17.656> of<00:20:17.816> Ernest<00:20:17.976> Shackleton,<00:20:19.643> Endurance,<00:20:20.541> that<00:20:20.861> is<00:20:21.246> all<00:20:21.342> about<00:20:21.646> Shackleton's<00:20:22.784> trip<00:20:22.945> to<00:20:23.089> Antarctica<00:20:23.666> and<00:20:23.762> sort<00:20:23.890> of<00:20:24.131> the<00:20:24.387> challenges<00:20:24.868> he<00:20:25.028> faced<00:20:25.413> with<00:20:25.573> his<00:20:26.070> team<00:20:26.406> and<00:20:26.551> company,<00:20:27.031> and<00:20:27.112> then<00:20:28.233> how<00:20:28.458> he<00:20:28.810> successfully<00:20:29.419> made<00:20:29.532> it<00:20:29.660> back<00:20:29.980> and<00:20:30.061> like<00:20:30.301> the<00:20:30.638> resilience<00:20:31.215> and<00:20:31.343> all<00:20:31.439> of<00:20:31.519> that<00:20:31.759> that<00:20:32.160> he<00:20:32.256> showed.

00:20:33.106 --> 00:20:40.550
How<00:20:33.266> have<00:20:33.426> you<00:20:33.522> thought<00:20:33.747> about<00:20:34.708> fundraising<00:20:35.365> and<00:20:35.510> raising<00:20:35.846> money,<00:20:36.551> you<00:20:36.648> know,<00:20:36.888> and<00:20:37.128> taking<00:20:37.449> venture<00:20:37.689> capital<00:20:38.170> and<00:20:38.411> meeting,<00:20:38.731> you<00:20:38.811> know,<00:20:38.940> So<00:20:39.280> how<00:20:39.420> have<00:20:39.600> you<00:20:39.720> thought<00:20:39.860> about<00:20:40.100> that?

00:20:40.640 --> 00:20:47.300
And,<00:20:40.760> you<00:20:40.761> know,<00:20:40.960> just<00:20:41.180> overall,<00:20:41.720> I<00:20:41.721> mean,<00:20:41.960> originally<00:20:42.600> you<00:20:42.860> said<00:20:42.940> like,<00:20:43.480> hey,<00:20:44.260> you<00:20:44.300> know,<00:20:44.440> we<00:20:44.480> kind<00:20:44.680> of<00:20:44.800> bootstrapped<00:20:45.220> it<00:20:45.460> with<00:20:45.520> the<00:20:45.740> course<00:20:45.920> thing,<00:20:46.200> but<00:20:46.320> we<00:20:46.440> were<00:20:46.540> kind<00:20:46.700> of<00:20:46.740> breaking<00:20:47.000> even.

00:20:47.800 --> 00:20:48.950
How<00:20:47.820> have<00:20:47.960> you<00:20:48.080> thought<00:20:48.200> about<00:20:48.380> it<00:20:48.600> since?

00:20:49.200 --> 00:20:50.680
We<00:20:49.220> have<00:20:49.580> raised<00:20:49.820> venture<00:20:50.100> capital.

00:20:50.680 --> 00:20:54.350
We've<00:20:50.681> raised<00:20:50.820> just<00:20:51.060> about<00:20:51.400> $8<00:20:51.660> million<00:20:51.940> total<00:20:52.600> from<00:20:53.200> some<00:20:53.440> amazing<00:20:53.700> investors.

00:20:54.350 --> 00:21:06.080
We've<00:20:54.360> been<00:20:54.700> really<00:20:54.940> lucky<00:20:55.260> to<00:20:55.460> work<00:20:55.720> with<00:20:56.040> everybody<00:20:57.020> from<00:20:57.760> large<00:20:58.260> family<00:20:58.880> offices<00:20:59.440> to<00:20:59.760> VCs<00:21:00.420> to<00:21:00.820> angels<00:21:01.540> who've<00:21:01.820> worked<00:21:02.040> at—<00:21:03.040> been<00:21:03.041> operators<00:21:03.500> at<00:21:03.700> some<00:21:03.860> amazing<00:21:04.220> consumer<00:21:04.760> and<00:21:04.960> other-oriented<00:21:05.500> companies.

00:21:06.080 --> 00:21:09.060
So<00:21:06.160> really,<00:21:07.020> I<00:21:07.420> feel<00:21:07.800> like<00:21:07.920> I<00:21:08.100> won<00:21:08.160> the<00:21:08.300> lottery<00:21:08.580> in<00:21:08.760> terms<00:21:08.920> of<00:21:08.940> our<00:21:08.960> investors,<00:21:08.980> which<00:21:09.000> has<00:21:09.020> been<00:21:09.040> great.

00:21:11.593 --> 00:21:20.525
We<00:21:12.235> have<00:21:12.459> thought<00:21:12.652> about<00:21:12.860> it<00:21:12.956> really<00:21:13.213> as<00:21:13.357> a<00:21:13.437> way<00:21:13.742> to<00:21:14.640> frankly,<00:21:14.961> like,<00:21:15.121> test<00:21:15.442> and<00:21:15.506> iterate<00:21:15.987> off<00:21:16.228> of<00:21:16.468> these<00:21:16.629> different<00:21:16.885> concepts<00:21:17.366> and<00:21:17.446> different<00:21:17.687> visions<00:21:18.072> for<00:21:18.152> the<00:21:18.248> product<00:21:18.729> and<00:21:18.810> then<00:21:19.467> start<00:21:19.756> to<00:21:19.836> show<00:21:20.028> some<00:21:20.237> scale.

00:21:20.958 --> 00:21:29.057
And<00:21:21.295> I<00:21:21.391> think<00:21:21.600> one<00:21:21.776> of<00:21:21.808> the<00:21:22.001> things<00:21:22.257> that<00:21:22.402> you<00:21:22.498> realize<00:21:23.043> when<00:21:23.123> you're<00:21:23.300> building<00:21:23.620> something<00:21:24.021> that<00:21:24.166> is<00:21:24.342> truly<00:21:24.599> net<00:21:24.903> new<00:21:25.144> is<00:21:25.866> it<00:21:25.930> takes<00:21:26.186> time<00:21:26.651> to<00:21:26.748> be<00:21:26.828> able<00:21:26.988> to<00:21:27.068> figure<00:21:27.453> out<00:21:27.614> that<00:21:27.790> product<00:21:28.111> market<00:21:28.415> fit<00:21:28.672> moment.

00:21:29.137 --> 00:21:36.369
You're<00:21:29.233> not,<00:21:30.901> you're<00:21:30.981> not<00:21:31.158> just<00:21:31.302> creating<00:21:31.558> something<00:21:31.879> that's<00:21:32.120> like<00:21:32.681> 2%<00:21:32.841> better,<00:21:33.627> 2%<00:21:33.884> faster<00:21:35.006> than<00:21:35.247> another<00:21:35.552> existing<00:21:36.033> product.

00:21:36.434 --> 00:21:44.790
Like,<00:21:36.594> it<00:21:36.754> really<00:21:37.075> takes<00:21:37.510> figuring<00:21:38.060> out<00:21:38.200> the<00:21:38.320> go-to-market<00:21:38.680> strategy,<00:21:39.420> figuring<00:21:39.480> out<00:21:39.820> the,<00:21:40.790> the<00:21:41.240> product<00:21:41.900> itself<00:21:42.360> and<00:21:42.540> sort<00:21:42.680> of<00:21:42.780> who<00:21:42.900> your<00:21:43.020> target<00:21:43.300> market<00:21:43.600> is<00:21:43.800> and<00:21:43.940> all<00:21:44.020> of<00:21:44.240> that.

00:21:44.960 --> 00:21:48.180
So<00:21:45.020> we've<00:21:45.220> used<00:21:45.280> venture<00:21:45.480> capital<00:21:45.800> to<00:21:45.940> be<00:21:46.040> able<00:21:46.220> to<00:21:46.440> propel<00:21:46.640> us<00:21:46.860> throughout<00:21:47.140> that<00:21:47.520> journey.

00:21:48.180 --> 00:21:48.920
Yeah,<00:21:48.400> yeah.

00:21:48.920 --> 00:21:56.960
How<00:21:49.320> to<00:21:49.520> take<00:21:49.740> it,<00:21:50.220> when<00:21:50.280> to<00:21:50.480> take<00:21:50.720> it,<00:21:50.980> all<00:21:51.060> that<00:21:51.200> type<00:21:51.340> of<00:21:51.500> stuff<00:21:51.580> is<00:21:51.760> like,<00:21:52.120> it's<00:21:52.140> such<00:21:52.280> a<00:21:52.480> fascinating<00:21:52.980> and<00:21:53.359> important<00:21:53.700> part<00:21:53.920> of<00:21:54.040> being<00:21:54.160> an<00:21:54.280> entrepreneur<00:21:54.740> and<00:21:55.480> everybody<00:21:55.860> approaches<00:21:56.220> it<00:21:56.380> really<00:21:56.520> different.

00:21:56.960 --> 00:21:58.170
That's,<00:21:57.060> that's<00:21:57.180> actually<00:21:57.400> really<00:21:57.620> interesting.

00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:02.420
What<00:21:58.460> do<00:21:58.560> you<00:21:58.720> think<00:21:58.960> about<00:21:59.540> kind<00:22:00.460> of<00:22:00.600> the<00:22:00.601> most<00:22:00.820> important<00:22:01.140> attributes<00:22:01.660> of<00:22:01.880> leadership?

00:22:02.420 --> 00:22:03.800
What<00:22:02.520> have<00:22:02.660> you<00:22:02.740> learned<00:22:03.000> about<00:22:03.240> being<00:22:03.460> a<00:22:03.620> leader?

00:22:04.173 --> 00:22:11.495
I<00:22:04.237> remember<00:22:04.510> in<00:22:04.638> business<00:22:04.895> school,<00:22:05.602> we<00:22:05.859> read<00:22:06.036> a<00:22:06.100> case,<00:22:06.485> and<00:22:06.742> it's<00:22:06.983> going<00:22:07.625> to<00:22:07.706> escape<00:22:08.027> me<00:22:08.123> now,<00:22:08.428> but<00:22:09.087> it<00:22:09.151> was<00:22:09.311> basically<00:22:09.617> about<00:22:09.857> the<00:22:10.018> different<00:22:10.596> types<00:22:10.917> of<00:22:10.998> leadership.

00:22:11.576 --> 00:22:20.761
It<00:22:11.688> was<00:22:11.801> one<00:22:11.897> of<00:22:11.961> those<00:22:12.266> Harvard<00:22:12.507> Business<00:22:12.844> Review<00:22:13.005> cases<00:22:13.390> where<00:22:13.471> they<00:22:13.631> take<00:22:13.968> different<00:22:14.209> examples<00:22:14.852> of<00:22:15.157> this<00:22:15.333> person<00:22:15.638> operates<00:22:15.960> this<00:22:16.136> way,<00:22:16.233> they<00:22:16.538> operate<00:22:16.779> this<00:22:16.939> way,<00:22:17.100> assign<00:22:17.485> them<00:22:18.625> titles<00:22:19.107> in<00:22:19.187> terms<00:22:19.492> of<00:22:19.814> the<00:22:19.910> leadership<00:22:20.247> styles.

00:22:21.259 --> 00:22:25.177
I<00:22:21.275> think<00:22:21.436> something<00:22:21.773> I've<00:22:21.917> realized<00:22:22.415> is<00:22:22.544> that<00:22:22.720> my<00:22:22.881> leadership<00:22:23.202> style<00:22:23.603> has<00:22:24.005> changed<00:22:24.631> over<00:22:24.808> the<00:22:24.888> years.

00:22:25.273 --> 00:22:34.025
It's<00:22:25.450> kind<00:22:25.595> of<00:22:25.691> changed<00:22:26.173> based<00:22:26.494> upon<00:22:27.538> different<00:22:27.875> dynamics<00:22:28.421> that<00:22:28.581> are<00:22:28.662> facing<00:22:29.465> my<00:22:29.625> own<00:22:29.946> personal<00:22:30.428> and<00:22:30.508> professional<00:22:30.974> growth,<00:22:32.034> the<00:22:32.179> team<00:22:32.355> that<00:22:32.468> I'm<00:22:32.660> managing,<00:22:33.078> and<00:22:33.222> things<00:22:33.463> like<00:22:33.720> that.

00:22:34.362 --> 00:22:47.357
But<00:22:34.603> I<00:22:34.747> think<00:22:34.844> at<00:22:34.924> the<00:22:35.068> end<00:22:35.164> of<00:22:35.261> the<00:22:35.389> day,<00:22:36.047> most<00:22:36.271> important<00:22:36.673> traits<00:22:36.993> are<00:22:37.090> really<00:22:38.036> being<00:22:38.213> resilient<00:22:39.015> and<00:22:39.095> being<00:22:39.320> resourceful,<00:22:40.138> particularly<00:22:40.443> at<00:22:40.523> an<00:22:40.683> early<00:22:40.796> stage,<00:22:42.544> and<00:22:42.625> just<00:22:43.090> having<00:22:43.427> like<00:22:43.748> very<00:22:44.085> strong<00:22:45.031> vision<00:22:45.737> and<00:22:45.817> focus<00:22:46.379> on<00:22:46.459> what<00:22:46.619> you're<00:22:46.716> trying<00:22:46.956> to<00:22:47.053> do.

00:22:47.983 --> 00:23:08.056
And<00:22:48.400> I<00:22:48.416> think<00:22:48.561> there's<00:22:48.705> a<00:22:48.785> difference<00:22:49.186> between<00:22:50.326> having<00:22:50.646> a<00:22:50.711> vision<00:22:51.112> for<00:22:51.609> a<00:22:51.673> product,<00:22:52.090> a<00:22:52.154> company,<00:22:52.812> and<00:22:53.695> what<00:22:53.839> you're<00:22:53.999> doing<00:22:54.497> that<00:22:54.737> week,<00:22:55.203> and<00:22:55.283> being<00:22:55.524> able<00:22:55.700> to<00:22:55.844> kind<00:22:56.021> of<00:22:56.117> separate<00:22:56.727> out<00:22:57.144> what<00:22:57.240> needs<00:22:57.465> to<00:22:57.609> happen<00:22:57.930> from<00:22:58.107> execution<00:22:58.668> perspective<00:22:59.390> and<00:22:59.534> kind<00:22:59.647> of<00:23:00.192> focusing<00:23:00.594> on<00:23:00.754> the<00:23:00.850> stair<00:23:01.396> or<00:23:01.701> focusing<00:23:02.022> on<00:23:02.054> the<00:23:02.118> step,<00:23:02.519> not<00:23:02.680> the<00:23:02.760> staircase,<00:23:03.322> so<00:23:03.434> to<00:23:03.546> speak,<00:23:04.686> but<00:23:04.782> then<00:23:04.910> having<00:23:05.167> the<00:23:05.247> North<00:23:05.424> Star<00:23:06.050> that's<00:23:06.531> long-term<00:23:07.173> where<00:23:07.253> you're<00:23:07.414> trying<00:23:07.719> to<00:23:07.815> go.

00:23:08.698 --> 00:23:16.048
So,<00:23:08.810> I<00:23:08.842> think<00:23:09.003> those<00:23:09.179> have<00:23:09.323> been<00:23:10.302> things<00:23:10.527> at<00:23:10.607> least<00:23:10.784> I've<00:23:11.009> really<00:23:11.185> tried<00:23:11.410> to<00:23:11.747> build<00:23:11.907> in<00:23:11.987> myself<00:23:12.469> and<00:23:13.095> the<00:23:13.255> people<00:23:13.464> that<00:23:13.576> I<00:23:13.656> look<00:23:13.833> up<00:23:13.913> to,<00:23:14.154> those<00:23:14.330> are<00:23:14.395> some<00:23:14.523> of<00:23:14.555> the<00:23:14.699> skills<00:23:15.020> that<00:23:15.181> they<00:23:15.454> certainly<00:23:15.823> have.

00:23:16.224 --> 00:23:18.086
Who's<00:23:16.401> a<00:23:16.545> leader<00:23:16.866> that<00:23:16.962> you<00:23:17.107> would<00:23:17.283> really<00:23:17.540> admire?

00:23:19.048 --> 00:23:20.429
There's<00:23:19.289> so—<00:23:19.594> I<00:23:19.610> mean,<00:23:19.835> there's<00:23:20.011> so<00:23:20.188> many.

00:23:20.509 --> 00:23:24.986
I'll<00:23:20.974> give<00:23:21.119> you<00:23:21.215> one<00:23:21.375> that's<00:23:21.712> kind<00:23:22.643> of<00:23:22.964> off<00:23:23.076> the<00:23:23.205> beaten<00:23:23.381> track,<00:23:23.622> but<00:23:23.718> it<00:23:23.750> was<00:23:24.023> our<00:23:24.184> first<00:23:24.440> investor.

00:23:25.195 --> 00:23:26.719
He<00:23:25.628> was<00:23:25.788> a<00:23:25.853> guy<00:23:25.981> named<00:23:26.334> Ben<00:23:26.527> Sutton.

00:23:27.537 --> 00:23:36.686
And<00:23:27.809> he<00:23:27.937> was<00:23:28.033> kind<00:23:28.194> of<00:23:28.274> the<00:23:28.354> guy<00:23:28.738> who,<00:23:29.219> you<00:23:29.331> know,<00:23:29.459> took<00:23:29.572> the<00:23:29.780> chance<00:23:30.100> on<00:23:30.197> me,<00:23:30.373> so<00:23:30.597> to<00:23:30.661> speak,<00:23:31.302> and<00:23:31.959> really<00:23:32.584> helped<00:23:32.905> us<00:23:33.401> kind<00:23:33.562> of<00:23:33.866> launch<00:23:34.203> Real<00:23:34.427> World<00:23:34.683> in<00:23:34.779> the<00:23:34.908> beginning,<00:23:35.885> very<00:23:36.125> early<00:23:36.366> days.

00:23:37.391 --> 00:23:46.493
And<00:23:37.968> one<00:23:38.128> thing<00:23:38.273> I<00:23:38.289> really<00:23:38.513> appreciate<00:23:38.817> about<00:23:39.010> him,<00:23:39.234> he's<00:23:39.346> a<00:23:39.474> very<00:23:39.651> successful<00:23:40.196> entrepreneur,<00:23:41.237> really<00:23:41.493> just<00:23:41.798> kind<00:23:41.894> of<00:23:41.974> the<00:23:42.038> American<00:23:42.471> dream,<00:23:42.872> American<00:23:43.737> story,<00:23:44.153> so<00:23:44.314> to<00:23:44.394> speak,<00:23:44.842> that<00:23:45.419> got<00:23:45.580> him<00:23:45.724> where<00:23:45.884> he<00:23:45.980> is<00:23:46.205> today.

00:23:47.326 --> 00:23:53.239
And<00:23:47.887> he<00:23:48.544> talked<00:23:48.784> about<00:23:49.570> building<00:23:49.810> a<00:23:49.826> really<00:23:50.066> strong<00:23:50.451> team<00:23:51.108> and<00:23:51.252> how<00:23:51.749> culture<00:23:52.213> eats<00:23:52.310> strategy<00:23:52.790> for<00:23:52.951> lunch.

00:23:53.560 --> 00:24:07.760
And<00:23:53.900> if<00:23:54.040> you<00:23:54.180> really<00:23:54.580> instill<00:23:55.140> people<00:23:55.720> with<00:23:56.360> the<00:23:56.760> mission<00:23:57.900> and<00:23:58.200> you<00:23:58.440> find<00:23:58.600> people<00:23:58.900> who<00:23:59.100> are<00:23:59.220> dedicated<00:23:59.620> to<00:24:00.020> what<00:24:00.380> you're<00:24:00.560> trying<00:24:00.760> to<00:24:00.960> build<00:24:01.280> and<00:24:01.620> you<00:24:01.900> support<00:24:02.300> them<00:24:02.540> and<00:24:02.640> you<00:24:02.760> help<00:24:02.880> them<00:24:03.040> grow<00:24:03.360> and<00:24:03.500> you<00:24:03.660> sort<00:24:03.780> of<00:24:03.880> invest<00:24:04.140> in<00:24:04.360> them,<00:24:05.000> like,<00:24:05.260> those<00:24:05.420> are<00:24:05.580> the<00:24:05.680> people<00:24:05.940> who<00:24:06.160> will<00:24:06.220> help<00:24:06.340> you<00:24:06.540> actually<00:24:06.800> get<00:24:06.980> the<00:24:07.140> job<00:24:07.320> done.

00:24:08.040 --> 00:24:09.939
And<00:24:08.440> he<00:24:08.540> had<00:24:08.680> proven<00:24:08.820> it<00:24:09.020> out<00:24:09.100> in<00:24:09.200> his<00:24:09.360> own<00:24:09.540> businesses.

00:24:09.980 --> 00:24:16.820
He<00:24:10.040> had<00:24:10.160> people<00:24:10.340> who<00:24:10.620> had<00:24:10.621> worked<00:24:10.622> with<00:24:10.800> him<00:24:10.960> for<00:24:11.660> 15+<00:24:12.560> years,<00:24:12.980> I<00:24:13.240> mean,<00:24:13.241> who<00:24:13.440> had<00:24:13.441> grown<00:24:13.680> every<00:24:13.960> step<00:24:14.220> of<00:24:14.360> their<00:24:14.520> career<00:24:14.840> and<00:24:15.120> obviously<00:24:15.560> been<00:24:15.840> very<00:24:16.120> successful.

00:24:17.380 --> 00:24:18.980
So,<00:24:17.600> I<00:24:17.700> think<00:24:17.900> that's<00:24:18.400> one<00:24:18.780> piece.

00:24:18.980 --> 00:24:23.130
And<00:24:19.160> then,<00:24:19.360> the<00:24:19.580> other<00:24:19.800> thing<00:24:19.920> I<00:24:20.060> admired<00:24:20.400> so<00:24:20.680> much<00:24:20.820> about<00:24:21.060> him<00:24:21.200> was<00:24:21.380> just<00:24:21.640> his<00:24:21.940> eternal<00:24:22.380> optimism.

00:24:23.240 --> 00:24:28.792
Constantly,<00:24:23.540> no<00:24:23.560> matter<00:24:23.580> the<00:24:23.600> problem,<00:24:25.460> problems<00:24:25.638> were<00:24:25.720> happening,<00:24:26.142> there<00:24:26.272> was<00:24:26.532> always,<00:24:26.939> you<00:24:26.971> know,<00:24:27.264> the<00:24:27.297> next<00:24:27.589> step,<00:24:27.849> there<00:24:27.898> was<00:24:28.158> always<00:24:28.483> the<00:24:28.565> way<00:24:28.743> out.

00:24:28.922 --> 00:24:35.913
It<00:24:29.052> was<00:24:29.215> always<00:24:29.410> so<00:24:29.703> exciting<00:24:30.190> to<00:24:30.272> be<00:24:30.369> building<00:24:30.711> something<00:24:31.626> and<00:24:32.061> kind<00:24:32.206> of<00:24:32.271> having<00:24:32.609> that<00:24:33.012> twinkle<00:24:33.319> in<00:24:33.351> your<00:24:33.560> eye<00:24:33.818> when<00:24:33.899> you're<00:24:34.302> talking<00:24:34.608> about<00:24:34.721> something<00:24:35.108> that<00:24:35.366> excites<00:24:35.817> you.

00:24:36.155 --> 00:24:39.492
What<00:24:36.252> do<00:24:36.316> you<00:24:36.542> know<00:24:36.735> now<00:24:37.042> that<00:24:37.187> you<00:24:37.364> wish<00:24:37.590> you<00:24:37.670> had<00:24:37.832> known<00:24:38.331> at<00:24:38.492> the<00:24:38.573> beginning<00:24:38.911> of<00:24:39.040> your<00:24:39.202> career?

00:24:40.330 --> 00:24:41.827
I<00:24:40.733> mean,<00:24:40.926> so<00:24:41.155> many<00:24:41.491> things.

00:24:43.792 --> 00:24:45.110
What<00:24:43.961> do<00:24:44.045> I<00:24:44.214> wish<00:24:44.535> I<00:24:44.637> had<00:24:44.891> known?

00:24:46.872 --> 00:24:51.107
I<00:24:46.888> think<00:24:47.099> one<00:24:47.278> thing<00:24:47.424> that<00:24:47.521> comes<00:24:47.764> to<00:24:47.927> mind<00:24:48.478> is<00:24:49.712> I<00:24:49.776> was<00:24:49.955> pretty<00:24:50.182> young<00:24:50.426> to<00:24:50.507> start<00:24:50.750> the<00:24:50.831> company.

00:24:51.172 --> 00:24:54.872
I<00:24:51.253> was<00:24:51.415> like<00:24:51.724> 27,<00:24:52.308> 28<00:24:52.713> years<00:24:53.022> old,<00:24:53.298> and,<00:24:53.427> you<00:24:53.606> know,<00:24:53.914> relatively<00:24:54.125> fresh<00:24:54.206> out<00:24:54.255> of<00:24:54.287> school<00:24:54.498> and<00:24:54.596> all<00:24:54.644> of<00:24:54.725> that.

00:24:54.969 --> 00:24:59.668
And<00:24:55.099> so,<00:24:55.228> I<00:24:55.245> spent<00:24:57.488> a<00:24:57.504> lot<00:24:57.632> of<00:24:57.776> time<00:24:58.033> seeking<00:24:58.514> advice<00:24:58.995> from<00:24:59.155> other<00:24:59.379> people.

00:25:00.037 --> 00:25:08.293
And<00:25:00.117> that<00:25:00.229> might<00:25:00.357> be<00:25:00.518> advice<00:25:00.983> on<00:25:01.945> how<00:25:02.265> the<00:25:02.297> venture<00:25:02.538> capital<00:25:02.842> industry<00:25:03.243> works,<00:25:03.804> or<00:25:04.109> understanding<00:25:04.461> the<00:25:04.590> education<00:25:05.007> ecosystem,<00:25:05.744> or,<00:25:06.369> you<00:25:06.449> know,<00:25:06.610> customer<00:25:06.914> discovery,<00:25:07.395> or<00:25:07.475> whatever<00:25:07.732> it<00:25:07.812> might<00:25:08.053> be.

00:25:09.479 --> 00:25:16.517
But<00:25:09.559> I<00:25:09.736> think<00:25:10.040> that<00:25:10.137> I've<00:25:10.297> come<00:25:10.618> now<00:25:10.858> more<00:25:11.179> to<00:25:11.323> just<00:25:11.499> trust<00:25:11.804> my<00:25:11.884> own<00:25:12.060> gut<00:25:12.477> and<00:25:12.557> to<00:25:12.702> trust<00:25:13.102> like<00:25:13.407> data<00:25:13.968> and<00:25:14.064> to<00:25:14.209> seek<00:25:15.187> data<00:25:15.651> over<00:25:16.148> advice.

00:25:16.934 --> 00:25:19.451
And<00:25:17.110> I<00:25:17.190> think<00:25:17.335> there's<00:25:17.495> a<00:25:17.575> good<00:25:17.752> balance<00:25:18.233> between<00:25:18.537> the<00:25:18.617> two<00:25:19.034> to<00:25:19.178> get.

00:25:19.900 --> 00:25:27.867
But<00:25:20.541> I<00:25:20.637> found<00:25:20.862> myself<00:25:21.198> looking<00:25:21.439> back<00:25:21.743> and<00:25:21.840> saying,<00:25:22.545> okay,<00:25:22.785> in<00:25:22.866> the<00:25:22.946> last<00:25:23.266> week,<00:25:23.427> I've<00:25:23.587> had<00:25:23.908> all<00:25:23.988> these<00:25:24.148> different<00:25:24.389> conversations<00:25:25.030> with<00:25:25.126> people,<00:25:26.120> got<00:25:26.232> so<00:25:26.280> many<00:25:26.441> different<00:25:26.649> perspectives,<00:25:27.274> which<00:25:27.370> is<00:25:27.467> helpful.

00:25:28.397 --> 00:25:48.862
But<00:25:28.958> had<00:25:29.134> I<00:25:29.215> sat<00:25:29.600> down<00:25:30.017> and<00:25:30.097> just<00:25:30.658> looked<00:25:30.835> at<00:25:30.963> the<00:25:31.059> data<00:25:31.284> of<00:25:31.444> how<00:25:32.021> our<00:25:32.422> users<00:25:32.727> were<00:25:32.888> performing,<00:25:33.385> or<00:25:33.465> looked<00:25:33.641> at<00:25:33.706> the<00:25:33.786> data<00:25:33.962> of<00:25:34.090> where<00:25:34.171> the<00:25:34.251> market<00:25:34.588> was<00:25:34.748> going,<00:25:35.053> or<00:25:35.085> whatever<00:25:35.358> it<00:25:35.470> might<00:25:35.710> be,<00:25:36.047> I<00:25:36.512> might<00:25:36.657> have<00:25:36.753> been<00:25:36.897> able<00:25:37.074> to<00:25:37.218> kind<00:25:37.378> of<00:25:37.475> have<00:25:37.795> some<00:25:38.662> opinions<00:25:39.062> on<00:25:39.095> my<00:25:39.303> own<00:25:39.560> that<00:25:39.720> would<00:25:39.864> have<00:25:39.961> been<00:25:40.506> better<00:25:41.003> than<00:25:41.180> someone<00:25:41.629> who's,<00:25:42.415> you<00:25:42.463> know,<00:25:42.543> someone<00:25:42.783> who's<00:25:42.912> spending<00:25:43.473> their<00:25:43.569> entire<00:25:44.035> life<00:25:44.355> thinking<00:25:44.676> about<00:25:45.013> this<00:25:45.173> problem<00:25:45.510> space<00:25:45.879> versus<00:25:46.055> someone<00:25:46.216> who's<00:25:46.360> spending<00:25:46.617> 30<00:25:46.809> minutes<00:25:47.178> thinking<00:25:47.435> about<00:25:47.675> it<00:25:47.723> and<00:25:47.964> giving<00:25:48.205> me<00:25:48.301> their<00:25:48.365> advice.

00:25:49.359 --> 00:25:56.449
So,<00:25:49.488> I<00:25:49.648> think<00:25:49.808> it's<00:25:49.905> something<00:25:50.290> to<00:25:50.386> balance,<00:25:50.723> certainly,<00:25:51.268> but<00:25:51.669> I<00:25:51.749> love<00:25:51.974> the<00:25:52.070> idea<00:25:52.391> now<00:25:52.631> of<00:25:52.792> really,<00:25:53.193> like,<00:25:53.513> trusting<00:25:53.818> your<00:25:53.995> gut<00:25:54.460> and<00:25:55.037> owning<00:25:55.518> when<00:25:55.759> your<00:25:55.919> gut<00:25:56.064> is<00:25:56.224> wrong.

00:25:56.850 --> 00:26:00.070
Being<00:25:57.310> able<00:25:57.550> to<00:25:57.730> kind<00:25:57.930> of<00:25:58.870> focus<00:25:59.250> your<00:25:59.450> attention<00:25:59.710> there.

00:26:00.070 --> 00:26:00.850
Yeah.

00:26:00.850 --> 00:26:02.460
What<00:26:00.869> do<00:26:01.050> you<00:26:01.230> think<00:26:01.350> about<00:26:01.570> the<00:26:01.710> current<00:26:02.010> market?

00:26:02.570 --> 00:26:04.050
Like,<00:26:02.650> we're<00:26:02.870> in<00:26:02.970> an<00:26:03.170> interesting<00:26:03.450> period,<00:26:03.850> right?

00:26:04.050 --> 00:26:05.070
We're<00:26:04.110> in<00:26:04.190> 2025.

00:26:05.070 --> 00:26:06.870
We're<00:26:05.170> almost<00:26:05.430> through<00:26:05.630> the<00:26:05.690> first<00:26:05.890> quarter<00:26:06.210> of<00:26:06.370> it.

00:26:06.870 --> 00:26:10.860
2024,<00:26:07.470> a<00:26:07.490> lot<00:26:07.610> of<00:26:07.710> uncertainty<00:26:08.090> for<00:26:08.310> a<00:26:08.450> variety<00:26:08.650> of<00:26:08.730> reasons,<00:26:09.310> elections,<00:26:09.810> things<00:26:09.811> like<00:26:10.110> that.

00:26:10.990 --> 00:26:13.520
2025,<00:26:11.590> it<00:26:11.591> seems<00:26:11.710> like<00:26:11.890> there's<00:26:12.170> a<00:26:12.350> lot<00:26:12.550> of<00:26:12.650> uncertainty<00:26:13.069> still.

00:26:14.210 --> 00:26:17.750
No,<00:26:14.630> you<00:26:14.631> know,<00:26:14.870> no<00:26:14.950> elections<00:26:15.710> coming<00:26:16.670> up<00:26:16.890> or<00:26:17.010> anything<00:26:17.210> like<00:26:17.490> that.

00:26:17.750 --> 00:26:23.570
But<00:26:17.751> it<00:26:17.890> does<00:26:18.070> feel<00:26:18.330> like,<00:26:18.890> you<00:26:18.990> know,<00:26:19.310> particularly<00:26:19.470> with<00:26:19.650> like<00:26:19.750> tariff<00:26:20.150> policy,<00:26:20.550> but<00:26:20.610> probably<00:26:20.870> you<00:26:21.010> don't<00:26:21.130> have<00:26:21.250> to<00:26:21.330> like<00:26:21.490> really<00:26:21.730> worry<00:26:21.970> about<00:26:22.190> that<00:26:22.570> in<00:26:22.870> a<00:26:22.970> lot<00:26:23.110> of<00:26:23.230> senses.

00:26:23.820 --> 00:26:26.130
How<00:26:24.320> are<00:26:24.440> you<00:26:24.560> thinking<00:26:24.780> about<00:26:25.000> going<00:26:25.220> into<00:26:25.580> 2025?

00:26:26.920 --> 00:26:28.380
I<00:26:26.940> mean,<00:26:26.941> I<00:26:27.180> think<00:26:27.340> I<00:26:27.540> agree<00:26:27.779> with<00:26:27.980> you.

00:26:28.380 --> 00:26:30.280
Over<00:26:28.440> the<00:26:28.580> last<00:26:28.820> few<00:26:29.000> years,<00:26:29.200> it<00:26:29.260> has<00:26:29.460> been<00:26:29.780> weird.

00:26:30.680 --> 00:26:32.400
It<00:26:30.700> has<00:26:30.960> been<00:26:31.240> weird<00:26:31.620> to<00:26:31.760> be<00:26:31.900> a<00:26:32.060> founder.

00:26:32.400 --> 00:26:45.620
It's<00:26:32.440> been<00:26:32.580> weird<00:26:32.800> to<00:26:32.940> be<00:26:33.000> in<00:26:33.080> the<00:26:33.120> tech<00:26:33.340> ecosystem,<00:26:34.360> VC,<00:26:34.940> et<00:26:34.941> cetera,<00:26:35.440> really<00:26:35.620> starting<00:26:36.160> midway<00:26:36.640> through<00:26:36.840> 2022,<00:26:38.980> where<00:26:39.000> companies<00:26:39.900> that<00:26:40.080> had<00:26:40.220> raised<00:26:40.400> these<00:26:40.640> huge<00:26:40.800> valuations<00:26:42.120> were<00:26:42.560> then<00:26:42.660> having<00:26:42.820> trouble<00:26:43.380> kind<00:26:43.580> of<00:26:43.720> getting<00:26:43.880> to<00:26:44.060> the<00:26:44.140> next<00:26:44.420> step<00:26:44.760> and<00:26:44.900> raising<00:26:45.120> capital.

00:26:46.940 --> 00:26:51.980
The<00:26:46.960> cost<00:26:47.420> of<00:26:47.880> engineering<00:26:48.240> talent,<00:26:48.740> the<00:26:48.741> cost<00:26:48.920> of<00:26:49.100> a<00:26:49.101> lot<00:26:49.240> of<00:26:49.300> tech<00:26:49.460> talent<00:26:49.700> had<00:26:49.880> gone<00:26:49.980> up<00:26:50.220> so<00:26:50.440> high<00:26:50.640> that<00:26:50.800> there<00:26:50.960> were<00:26:51.060> all<00:26:51.140> these<00:26:51.280> massive<00:26:51.580> layoffs.

00:26:52.020 --> 00:26:58.173
Layoffs,<00:26:52.277> people<00:26:52.775> are<00:26:52.855> looking<00:26:53.112> to<00:26:53.240> get<00:26:53.803> closer<00:26:54.044> to<00:26:54.140> profitability<00:26:54.847> versus<00:26:55.184> focusing<00:26:55.490> on<00:26:55.666> growth,<00:26:56.052> which<00:26:56.148> had<00:26:56.293> kind<00:26:56.486> of<00:26:56.550> been<00:26:56.695> the<00:26:56.775> narrative<00:26:57.177> for<00:26:57.418> years<00:26:57.755> past.

00:26:58.751 --> 00:27:09.354
VCs,<00:26:59.024> you<00:26:59.362> know,<00:26:59.827> dry<00:27:00.084> powder,<00:27:00.406> so<00:27:00.518> to<00:27:00.583> speak,<00:27:00.888> had<00:27:01.032> either<00:27:01.370> dried<00:27:01.675> up<00:27:02.012> or<00:27:02.253> there<00:27:02.494> was<00:27:03.298> just<00:27:03.699> the<00:27:04.406> goalposts<00:27:04.920> around<00:27:05.145> metrics<00:27:05.547> had<00:27:05.772> really<00:27:06.109> moved<00:27:06.366> so<00:27:06.591> that<00:27:06.687> a<00:27:06.752> lot<00:27:06.928> of<00:27:07.057> companies<00:27:07.394> got<00:27:07.555> squeezed<00:27:08.744> during<00:27:08.985> that<00:27:09.162> time.

00:27:09.419 --> 00:27:11.539
So<00:27:09.547> I<00:27:09.627> think<00:27:09.804> the<00:27:09.949> last<00:27:10.206> couple<00:27:10.383> of<00:27:10.431> years<00:27:10.672> have<00:27:10.929> been<00:27:11.025> strange.

00:27:12.439 --> 00:27:18.849
In<00:27:12.519> addition<00:27:12.776> to<00:27:12.841> everything<00:27:13.178> you<00:27:13.210> described,<00:27:13.740> all<00:27:13.885> the<00:27:14.142> geopolitical,<00:27:15.347> you<00:27:15.684> know,<00:27:16.407> American<00:27:16.937> politics,<00:27:17.435> etc.,<00:27:18.544> happenings.

00:27:19.347 --> 00:27:37.093
But<00:27:20.070> I<00:27:20.471> am<00:27:20.568> very<00:27:21.515> optimistic<00:27:22.800> about<00:27:23.041> 2025<00:27:23.924> because<00:27:24.181> I<00:27:24.342> think<00:27:24.583> there's<00:27:24.840> now—<00:27:25.546> while<00:27:25.691> there's<00:27:25.819> still<00:27:26.012> a<00:27:26.028> lot<00:27:26.269> of<00:27:26.349> uncertainty,<00:27:27.634> the<00:27:27.778> companies<00:27:28.052> that<00:27:28.180> have<00:27:28.341> made<00:27:28.517> it<00:27:28.598> through<00:27:28.919> the<00:27:28.983> last<00:27:29.240> couple<00:27:29.497> of<00:27:29.577> years<00:27:29.898> are<00:27:30.027> probably<00:27:30.364> going<00:27:30.460> to<00:27:30.541> make<00:27:30.846> it<00:27:31.087> and<00:27:31.167> they're<00:27:31.280> going<00:27:31.392> to<00:27:31.424> be<00:27:31.504> able<00:27:31.585> to<00:27:31.665> make<00:27:31.986> it<00:27:32.115> because<00:27:32.516> they've<00:27:32.677> gotten<00:27:33.094> leaner,<00:27:33.512> they've<00:27:33.656> gotten<00:27:33.881> more<00:27:34.058> focused,<00:27:34.700> they've<00:27:34.861> figured<00:27:35.327> out<00:27:36.049> how<00:27:36.081> to<00:27:36.226> do<00:27:36.322> more<00:27:36.611> with<00:27:36.788> less.

00:27:37.190 --> 00:27:48.731
And<00:27:37.350> now<00:27:37.575> with<00:27:37.671> the<00:27:37.816> advent<00:27:38.137> again<00:27:38.410> of<00:27:38.555> all<00:27:38.651> this<00:27:38.876> new<00:27:38.956> technology,<00:27:40.241> you'll<00:27:40.386> be<00:27:40.466> able<00:27:40.562> to<00:27:40.787> automate<00:27:41.044> a<00:27:41.060> lot<00:27:41.221> of<00:27:41.269> these<00:27:41.445> processes,<00:27:42.329> automate<00:27:42.634> a<00:27:42.650> lot<00:27:42.875> of<00:27:42.955> the<00:27:43.035> things<00:27:43.453> that<00:27:44.417> maybe<00:27:44.641> took<00:27:44.882> more<00:27:45.043> time<00:27:45.460> or,<00:27:45.525> you<00:27:46.246> cause<00:27:46.519> uncertainty<00:27:47.128> or<00:27:47.160> whatever<00:27:47.401> it<00:27:47.545> might<00:27:47.641> have<00:27:47.785> been<00:27:47.946> with<00:27:48.106> your<00:27:48.250> business.

00:27:49.244 --> 00:27:55.031
And<00:27:49.308> so,<00:27:49.372> I'm<00:27:49.549> feeling<00:27:49.789> very<00:27:50.030> optimistic<00:27:50.607> about<00:27:51.376> what<00:27:52.017> the<00:27:52.113> world,<00:27:52.675> what<00:27:52.899> the<00:27:53.236> tech<00:27:53.476> world<00:27:53.700> at<00:27:53.781> least<00:27:54.181> looks<00:27:54.422> like<00:27:54.678> right<00:27:54.919> now.

00:27:55.865 --> 00:28:08.625
I<00:27:56.185> also<00:27:56.458> think<00:27:56.602> that<00:27:56.762> consumer<00:27:57.323> sentiment<00:27:57.740> is<00:27:57.868> changing<00:27:58.349> too<00:27:58.590> in<00:27:58.670> a<00:27:58.926> positive<00:27:59.391> way,<00:28:00.129> particularly<00:28:00.513> around<00:28:00.930> things<00:28:01.331> like<00:28:02.212> the<00:28:02.293> way<00:28:02.838> that<00:28:03.335> we<00:28:03.431> approach<00:28:03.799> the<00:28:03.896> world<00:28:04.136> as<00:28:04.280> kind<00:28:04.441> of<00:28:04.681> having<00:28:04.938> control<00:28:05.322> over<00:28:05.563> your<00:28:05.659> own<00:28:05.819> life,<00:28:06.204> having<00:28:06.525> a<00:28:06.621> clear<00:28:06.957> sense<00:28:07.342> as<00:28:07.502> to<00:28:07.647> how<00:28:07.711> all<00:28:07.967> these<00:28:08.128> things<00:28:08.384> work.

00:28:09.250 --> 00:28:19.973
It<00:28:09.763> seems<00:28:10.131> like<00:28:10.308> people<00:28:10.548> are<00:28:11.574> moving<00:28:11.782> a<00:28:11.815> little<00:28:11.975> bit<00:28:12.055> away<00:28:12.392> from<00:28:12.696> the<00:28:12.792> kind<00:28:12.953> of<00:28:13.033> like<00:28:13.177> constant<00:28:13.514> commercialism<00:28:14.299> and<00:28:14.379> focused<00:28:14.860> on<00:28:15.341> consuming<00:28:15.838> things<00:28:16.159> and<00:28:16.303> actually<00:28:16.816> slightly<00:28:17.056> more<00:28:17.265> internally<00:28:17.650> focused<00:28:18.146> of<00:28:18.226> like,<00:28:18.884> how<00:28:19.044> do<00:28:19.124> I<00:28:19.188> get<00:28:19.300> my<00:28:19.509> life<00:28:19.685> together?

00:28:20.021 --> 00:28:21.704
How<00:28:20.102> do<00:28:20.182> I<00:28:20.262> focus<00:28:20.647> on<00:28:20.807> my<00:28:20.967> career<00:28:21.191> ambitions?

00:28:21.784 --> 00:28:24.781
How<00:28:21.865> do<00:28:21.945> I<00:28:22.089> focus<00:28:22.474> on<00:28:23.547> some<00:28:23.708> of<00:28:23.788> those<00:28:24.012> things<00:28:24.317> closer<00:28:24.589> to<00:28:24.653> home?

00:28:24.829 --> 00:28:27.057
So<00:28:26.096> I'm<00:28:26.480> optimistic.

00:28:27.201 --> 00:28:33.949
Finally,<00:28:27.538> we<00:28:27.762> end<00:28:27.923> every<00:28:28.035> interview<00:28:28.484> with<00:28:28.596> the<00:28:28.676> same<00:28:28.964> question,<00:28:29.541> and<00:28:29.621> that<00:28:29.798> is<00:28:29.942> at<00:28:30.006> CEO.com,<00:28:30.663> we<00:28:30.823> believe<00:28:31.048> the<00:28:31.128> chances<00:28:31.529> one<00:28:31.785> gives<00:28:32.266> is<00:28:32.346> just<00:28:32.554> as<00:28:32.651> important<00:28:32.907> as<00:28:32.987> the<00:28:33.067> chances<00:28:33.452> one<00:28:33.548> takes.

00:28:34.510 --> 00:28:37.234
When<00:28:34.734> you<00:28:34.894> hear<00:28:35.055> that,<00:28:35.231> who<00:28:35.391> gave<00:28:35.567> you<00:28:35.696> a<00:28:35.776> chance<00:28:36.016> to<00:28:36.112> get<00:28:36.273> you<00:28:36.369> to<00:28:36.497> where<00:28:36.657> you<00:28:36.817> are<00:28:36.914> today?
