# Linda Tong stopped forecasting, then 2026 happened

Thirty seconds into the CEO.com Podcast, Linda Tong corrected the record.

She had been introduced as a CEO of two years. "One small correction," she said. "I actually only became CEO about seven months ago." She had been at Webflow for two and a half. The distinction mattered to her enough to interrupt for it.

Google had once told her she could not be a product manager without a computer science degree. She was already doing the work on her 20% time. She left. A friend named Ben, another Google PM, hired her as the first product manager at his startup, Tapjoy, and two years later she was chief product officer running product, design, and engineering. That is the answer she gave to the question every episode of the show ends on, the one about who gave you a chance. "It all came down to him giving me that shot."

Her [degree is in economics](https://webflow.com/people/linda-tong?ref=ceo.com). She describes herself as really close to technical but not quite, and she says the gap is what drew her to the company she now runs.

"I always had to rely on a team of engineers to execute it for me," she said. "Between vision and execution, there's this translation layer, and it doesn't always work out as planned."

Webflow was built to remove that layer. Three founders made it work: Vlad Magdalin, an engineer who went to art school and freelanced websites to fund the company; Bryant Chou on the back end; and Sergie Magdalin, a designer, Vlad's brother, and the product's first customer. "Every element, every component that you drag onto the screen, is actually a one-to-one mapping with code," Tong said. "There's nothing you can't do with Webflow that you can do with code."

When she sat for the interview, Webflow had roughly 700 people, more than 300,000 customers, and a couple hundred million dollars in annual recurring revenue. By her count, just under one percent of all CMS-powered websites ran on it. Dropbox, Discord, Waste Management. Orangetheory Fitness too, which she mentioned because she books her own classes there most mornings and thinks about the hosting while she does it.

She keeps no productivity stack. She tried Stream Deck macros, note-taking apps, AI transcription, and a whole document system, then stripped it all out because the mental overhead of maintaining it exceeded what it gave back. Since 2017, she has taken every meeting note by hand in numbered, dated paper notebooks with a 0.38mm pen. "Writing just creates that memory when you write it. It inks itself into you." Asked for a book, she named Annie Duke's *Thinking in Bets* and said she would take every quote in it and repeat it back as her theory of decision-making. Her other annual read is *Ender's Game*.

On leadership, she said she used to think it meant being the most expert person in the room with authority to match, and now thinks both are close to irrelevant. "Good leadership is when you don't need a leader with authority. The more people you inspire, the more effective and impactful you can be, because once you're in a leadership position, you're no longer rolling up your sleeves."

## The accelerator argument

Tong's framing on AI was that any technology is either a disruptor or an accelerator, and that most turn out to be accelerators if you treat them that way. At Webflow, it powers a design assistant, a writing assistant, image generation, and translation. Inside the company, it handles front-line support, contract review, lead scoring, and marketing copy. Engineers use it to write code.

Asked whether aspiring developers should bother learning to code, she said absolutely not, and then made the case that has aged best of anything she said that day.

"It takes the best engineers and makes them 10x better, and it takes mediocre engineers and only slightly improves them. If your core capabilities are light, enhancement's light."

The interview was recorded in December 2024, weeks after the killing of UnitedHealthcare's CEO, with a new administration incoming. Asked how she was thinking about the year ahead, Tong said she had stopped forecasting. "If history is a guide, I think there's going to be a lot of disruption in 2025 that I'm just not thinking about yet."

## What the accelerator did

Eighteen months later, the disruption was hers.

The acquisitions came first, roughly as she had told [Axios](https://www.axios.com/pro/media-deals/2024/08/19/webflow-ceo-linda-tong-acquisitions?ref=ceo.com) they would in August 2024\. [Intellimize](https://techcrunch.com/2024/04/19/webflow-intellimize-acquisition-web-development-ai/?ref=ceo.com) for personalization, then [GreenSock](https://webflow.com/blog/webflow-acquires-gsap?ref=ceo.com) for animation. In March 2026, Webflow [bought Vidoso](https://webflow.com/blog/webflow-acquires-vidoso?ref=ceo.com), a four-person AI content startup, and Tong [told TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2026/03/12/webflow-buys-ai-content-generation-platform-vidoso-to-bolster-its-marketing-suite/?ref=ceo.com) the company should no longer be understood as a website builder. "People have historically seen us as a website builder or CMS. We are an agentic marketing platform, and this is a major step in that direction."

Then, on May 27, 2026, Webflow restructured. Tong published a memo that morning, [Evolving Webflow for the agentic web](https://webflow.com/blog/evolving-webflow-for-the-agentic-web?ref=ceo.com), and it lays out the strategy and the cost plainly.

"We're at an inflection point, both as a company and as an industry," she wrote. "AI is rewriting the rules for how marketing teams create, test, and optimize digital experiences." Two-thirds of the way down comes the concession: "AI tools and lightweight builders are providing a faster path to launch for those with simple website requirements. We expected this and are doubling down on the shift we started over two years ago."

That is the bottom of the market Webflow created. Freelancers, founders, marketers spinning up a landing page. Tong argues that depth is defensible and lightweight builds are not, and the restructuring points the company at marketing teams that treat a website as a growth engine. "Depth is where our platform is genuinely differentiated," she wrote. "I own this decision."

The memo lists what departing employees get: 16 weeks of severance plus a week of base pay per completed year of service, six months of COBRA for US staff, career resources, and their company laptops. Employees outside the US were told their support would be tailored to local requirements. It does not say how many people were leaving. It says "many."

That number is still not public. What is public is how people found out. The [San Francisco Chronicle](https://www.sfchronicle.com/tech/article/webflow-layoffs-tech-san-francisco-22279561.php?ref=ceo.com) reported that employees were locked out of their accounts with no warning. One developer woke around 7:30 a.m. to texts from coworkers asking what was going on, could not sign into Slack, and got a termination email half an hour later. He called it a bloodbath and said he believed the round was larger than the [8% cut](https://webflow.com/blog/restructuring-announcement?ref=ceo.com) Webflow made in July 2024, a month after Tong took the job. At least one engineer on a closed work permit in a foreign country [spent the day publicly asking](https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/webflow-layoffs-ai-transition-1799370?ref=ceo.com) whether he still had one. The memo itself is published with a noindex tag, which keeps it out of search results.

Webflow was not alone that week. ClickUp [cut 22% of its staff](https://thenextweb.com/news/clickup-layoffs-22-percent-ai-100x-org-million-salary?ref=ceo.com) on May 21, with CEO Zeb Evans calling the result a 100x organization and introducing million-dollar salary bands for those who stayed. Wix [eliminated roughly 1,000 jobs](https://thenextweb.com/news/wix-is-cutting-20-of-its-workforce-as-a-strong-shekel-and-ai-competition-squeeze-the-website-builder-from-both-sides?ref=ceo.com), a fifth of its workforce and the largest cut in its history, with CEO Avishai Abrahami citing both a currency squeeze and the need to rebuild around AI-native roles. Three vocabularies, one claim: the headcount math for no-code software no longer works against AI-native competitors.

Tong has kept making the case since. In a [GTMnow interview in May](https://thegtmnewsletter.substack.com/p/gtm-191-answer-engine-optimization-aeo-webflow-linda-tong), she argued that every website now serves two audiences, humans and AI agents, that answer engine optimization is displacing SEO, and that she built her own personal CRM with Claude Code. She has said she [still writes code on nights and weekends](https://betweentwocoos.com/linda-tong-webflow-ceo-on-the-new-web-ai-powered-ops-and-how-they-run-webflow/?ref=ceo.com) because she cannot imagine leading in this moment without putting her hands on the technology. [Webflow Conf](https://webflow.com/webflowconf?ref=ceo.com) runs September 1 through 3 in Boston.

00:00:08.808 --> 00:00:12.045
Love<00:00:11.352> it.

00:00:12.899 --> 00:00:15.620
Linda,<00:00:14.010> thank<00:00:14.171> you<00:00:14.251> so<00:00:14.412> much<00:00:14.654> for<00:00:14.735> coming<00:00:14.992> on<00:00:15.137> the<00:00:15.218> show.

00:00:15.717 --> 00:00:17.054
What<00:00:15.894> an<00:00:16.120> honor<00:00:16.361> to<00:00:16.522> have<00:00:16.909> you.

00:00:17.150 --> 00:00:19.476
Webflow<00:00:17.875> is<00:00:17.956> an<00:00:17.988> incredible<00:00:18.942> company.

00:00:19.589 --> 00:00:27.815
I'm<00:00:19.751> sure<00:00:19.913> a<00:00:20.058> lot<00:00:20.236> of<00:00:20.317> people<00:00:20.544> who<00:00:20.641> are<00:00:20.786> watching<00:00:21.142> or<00:00:21.271> listening<00:00:21.676> have<00:00:21.918> used<00:00:22.177> it,<00:00:22.339> heard<00:00:22.517> about<00:00:22.889> it,<00:00:23.697> um,<00:00:24.264> or<00:00:24.361> at<00:00:24.441> the<00:00:24.522> very<00:00:24.910> least<00:00:25.250> is<00:00:25.493> curious<00:00:26.043> how<00:00:26.156> it's<00:00:26.447> all<00:00:26.609> working<00:00:27.029> in<00:00:27.110> this<00:00:27.275> age<00:00:27.455> of<00:00:27.617> AI.

00:00:28.556 --> 00:00:30.738
You<00:00:28.636> became<00:00:28.893> the<00:00:28.973> CEO<00:00:29.535> about<00:00:29.839> 2<00:00:30.080> years<00:00:30.353> ago.

00:00:31.283 --> 00:00:34.379
Tell<00:00:31.460> us<00:00:31.845> what<00:00:32.101> led<00:00:32.406> you<00:00:32.727> to<00:00:32.823> become<00:00:33.385> the<00:00:33.481> CEO<00:00:33.930> of<00:00:34.027> Webflow.

00:00:35.551 --> 00:00:35.807
Thank<00:00:35.775> you.

00:00:35.871 --> 00:00:37.748
Well,<00:00:36.016> actually,<00:00:37.075> one<00:00:37.251> small<00:00:37.412> correction.

00:00:37.797 --> 00:00:40.363
I<00:00:38.182> actually<00:00:38.406> only<00:00:38.518> became<00:00:38.904> CEO<00:00:39.240> about<00:00:39.497> 7<00:00:39.722> months<00:00:40.043> ago.

00:00:40.668 --> 00:00:41.615
Oh,<00:00:41.069> I'm<00:00:41.182> sorry.

00:00:42.192 --> 00:00:42.850
No<00:00:42.433> worries.

00:00:42.914 --> 00:00:43.700
Incredible.

00:00:44.053 --> 00:00:46.540
But<00:00:44.198> I've<00:00:44.374> been<00:00:44.599> at<00:00:44.679> Webflow<00:00:45.176> for<00:00:45.240> about<00:00:45.513> 2<00:00:45.738> and<00:00:45.818> a<00:00:45.882> half<00:00:46.059> years<00:00:46.444> now.

00:00:46.941 --> 00:00:47.711
Okay,<00:00:47.037> that's<00:00:47.502> what<00:00:47.567> it<00:00:47.663> is.

00:00:47.887 --> 00:01:05.042
And<00:00:48.000> so,<00:00:48.690> I've<00:00:48.866> been<00:00:49.026> at<00:00:49.107> this<00:00:49.331> company<00:00:49.748> and<00:00:49.893> I've<00:00:50.069> just<00:00:50.294> been<00:00:50.550> a<00:00:50.615> part<00:00:50.887> of<00:00:50.968> the<00:00:51.048> story,<00:00:51.593> and<00:00:51.898> I<00:00:51.978> had<00:00:52.476> the<00:00:52.620> great<00:00:52.861> honor<00:00:53.021> of<00:00:53.133> stepping<00:00:53.518> into<00:00:53.759> the<00:00:53.839> CEO<00:00:54.224> role<00:00:55.042> more<00:00:55.202> recently,<00:00:57.125> you<00:00:57.205> know,<00:00:57.366> and<00:00:57.446> so<00:00:57.606> for<00:00:57.750> those<00:00:57.911> who<00:00:57.943> don't<00:00:58.167> know,<00:00:58.231> Webflow<00:00:58.487> is<00:00:58.632> a<00:00:58.712> web<00:00:58.888> development<00:00:59.273> platform<00:00:59.930> that<00:01:00.154> empowers,<00:01:01.837> you<00:01:01.869> know,<00:01:02.478> non-developers<00:01:03.455> to<00:01:03.760> build<00:01:04.096> powerful<00:01:04.577> websites.

00:01:05.763 --> 00:01:07.606
We<00:01:05.859> are<00:01:05.939> a<00:01:06.099> visual<00:01:06.500> abstraction<00:01:07.125> of<00:01:07.221> code.

00:01:08.022 --> 00:01:15.282
So<00:01:08.167> designers,<00:01:08.888> marketers<00:01:09.368> can<00:01:09.609> come<00:01:09.785> together<00:01:10.266> and<00:01:10.410> build<00:01:10.586> these<00:01:10.843> incredible<00:01:11.372> websites<00:01:11.868> for<00:01:11.949> their<00:01:12.093> companies,<00:01:12.590> these<00:01:13.214> global<00:01:13.615> marketing<00:01:13.968> sites<00:01:14.336> or<00:01:14.416> main.coms.

00:01:16.355 --> 00:01:25.710
And<00:01:16.436> what's<00:01:16.660> great<00:01:16.852> about<00:01:17.077> it<00:01:17.301> is<00:01:17.413> it<00:01:17.493> allows<00:01:17.862> people<00:01:18.198> to<00:01:18.343> move<00:01:18.599> faster<00:01:19.160> and<00:01:19.208> allows<00:01:19.544> them<00:01:19.721> to<00:01:19.817> get<00:01:20.426> incredible<00:01:21.149> powerful<00:01:21.502> sites<00:01:21.888> built<00:01:22.771> that<00:01:22.931> ultimately<00:01:23.397> drive<00:01:23.831> return<00:01:24.296> on<00:01:24.441> investment<00:01:25.083> for<00:01:25.260> their<00:01:25.404> business.

00:01:26.207 --> 00:01:32.599
So<00:01:26.288> whether<00:01:26.480> it's<00:01:26.577> driving<00:01:26.930> conversions<00:01:27.685> or<00:01:27.749> signups<00:01:28.391> or<00:01:28.472> just<00:01:28.713> brand<00:01:28.953> awareness,<00:01:30.334> it's<00:01:30.640> such<00:01:30.816> a<00:01:31.025> powerful,<00:01:31.748> powerful<00:01:32.069> platform.

00:01:33.916 --> 00:01:36.421
And<00:01:34.237> for<00:01:34.397> me,<00:01:34.654> you<00:01:34.735> know,<00:01:34.895> I,<00:01:35.762> I<00:01:35.859> love<00:01:36.084> Webflow.

00:01:36.501 --> 00:01:40.066
So<00:01:36.662> part<00:01:36.919> of<00:01:36.983> the<00:01:37.047> mission<00:01:37.368> is<00:01:37.545> about<00:01:38.251> bringing<00:01:38.508> development<00:01:38.910> superpowers<00:01:39.488> to<00:01:39.633> everyone.

00:01:40.500 --> 00:01:47.341
And<00:01:40.917> my<00:01:41.078> background<00:01:41.560> is<00:01:41.704> actually<00:01:42.202> that<00:01:42.443> of<00:01:43.149> a<00:01:43.326> product<00:01:43.647> manager,<00:01:44.049> which<00:01:44.209> is<00:01:44.771> really<00:01:45.012> close<00:01:45.398> to<00:01:45.494> being<00:01:46.040> technical,<00:01:46.538> but<00:01:46.682> not<00:01:46.795> quite.

00:01:47.726 --> 00:01:53.730
And<00:01:48.127> my<00:01:48.304> background<00:01:48.770> is<00:01:49.909> studying<00:01:50.375> healthcare<00:01:50.937> economics,<00:01:51.515> so<00:01:51.900> clearly<00:01:52.799> development<00:01:53.200> capabilities.

00:01:54.886 --> 00:02:00.151
But<00:01:55.913> as<00:01:56.090> a<00:01:56.154> product<00:01:56.555> person,<00:01:57.679> I<00:01:58.000> was<00:01:58.241> always—<00:01:58.899> I<00:01:58.979> always<00:01:59.139> had<00:01:59.236> this<00:01:59.445> chip<00:01:59.621> on<00:01:59.653> my<00:01:59.782> shoulder.

00:02:00.568 --> 00:02:05.705
I<00:02:00.648> had<00:02:00.825> this<00:02:01.130> idea<00:02:01.451> of<00:02:01.612> the<00:02:01.788> things<00:02:02.013> that<00:02:02.109> I<00:02:02.254> wanted<00:02:02.655> to<00:02:03.377> build,<00:02:04.036> the<00:02:04.116> experiences<00:02:04.742> I<00:02:04.902> wanted<00:02:05.159> to<00:02:05.239> unlock.

00:02:06.187 --> 00:02:10.136
I<00:02:06.267> always<00:02:06.508> had<00:02:06.636> to<00:02:06.748> rely<00:02:07.246> on<00:02:07.342> a<00:02:07.487> team<00:02:07.792> of<00:02:08.434> engineers<00:02:08.996> to<00:02:09.092> go<00:02:09.317> execute<00:02:09.670> it<00:02:09.879> for<00:02:09.975> me.

00:02:10.762 --> 00:02:14.662
And<00:02:11.323> a<00:02:11.404> lot<00:02:11.580> of<00:02:11.661> times<00:02:11.966> between<00:02:12.463> vision<00:02:12.945> and<00:02:13.089> execution,<00:02:13.667> there's<00:02:13.812> this<00:02:13.908> translation<00:02:14.470> layer.

00:02:15.176 --> 00:02:16.814
And<00:02:15.256> it<00:02:15.289> doesn't<00:02:15.658> always<00:02:15.915> work<00:02:16.140> out<00:02:16.236> as<00:02:16.380> planned.

00:02:16.878 --> 00:02:23.349
And<00:02:17.023> I've<00:02:17.183> always<00:02:17.585> wanted<00:02:17.825> to<00:02:17.906> be<00:02:17.986> able<00:02:18.098> to<00:02:18.307> build<00:02:18.500> it<00:02:18.644> myself<00:02:19.688> because<00:02:19.849> I<00:02:19.865> never<00:02:20.073> felt<00:02:20.314> like<00:02:20.475> my<00:02:20.635> vision<00:02:20.876> was<00:02:21.053> ever<00:02:21.759> really<00:02:22.000> being<00:02:22.257> executed<00:02:22.723> appropriately.

00:02:24.088 --> 00:02:35.953
And<00:02:24.585> when<00:02:24.746> I<00:02:24.762> saw<00:02:25.067> Webflow<00:02:25.533> and<00:02:25.613> I<00:02:25.629> saw<00:02:25.870> what<00:02:26.014> we<00:02:26.111> could<00:02:26.255> do,<00:02:26.657> the<00:02:26.897> idea<00:02:27.154> that<00:02:27.315> someone<00:02:27.620> like<00:02:27.797> me<00:02:27.941> could<00:02:28.037> be<00:02:28.118> empowered<00:02:28.583> to<00:02:28.664> go<00:02:28.840> build<00:02:29.081> for<00:02:29.161> the<00:02:29.242> web<00:02:29.964> and<00:02:30.221> see<00:02:30.590> my<00:02:30.767> vision<00:02:31.088> through<00:02:31.249> the<00:02:31.329> way<00:02:31.570> that<00:02:31.730> it,<00:02:32.052> it's<00:02:32.212> sort<00:02:32.517> of<00:02:32.614> captured<00:02:32.999> in<00:02:33.031> my<00:02:33.111> mind,<00:02:34.043> uh,<00:02:34.219> felt<00:02:34.444> like<00:02:34.605> one<00:02:34.717> of<00:02:34.781> the<00:02:34.862> greatest<00:02:35.183> missions<00:02:35.440> to<00:02:35.584> be<00:02:35.745> on.

00:02:36.146 --> 00:02:40.000
And<00:02:36.291> so<00:02:36.451> for<00:02:36.580> me,<00:02:36.708> it's<00:02:36.933> really<00:02:37.190> been<00:02:37.334> about<00:02:37.671> taking<00:02:38.057> this<00:02:38.217> mission<00:02:38.956> and<00:02:39.036> bringing<00:02:39.277> it<00:02:39.357> to<00:02:39.502> billions<00:02:39.839> of<00:02:39.871> people.

00:02:41.284 --> 00:02:42.793
Well,<00:02:41.429> it's<00:02:41.525> like<00:02:41.701> magic,<00:02:42.633> right?

00:02:42.906 --> 00:02:51.013
Like,<00:02:43.516> I<00:02:43.532> mean,<00:02:43.772> just<00:02:44.029> a<00:02:44.094> few<00:02:44.479> years<00:02:44.800> ago,<00:02:45.153> it<00:02:45.298> was<00:02:46.164> really<00:02:46.486> hard<00:02:47.224> to<00:02:48.027> build<00:02:48.252> a<00:02:48.332> website<00:02:48.829> and<00:02:48.910> you<00:02:49.038> had<00:02:49.118> to<00:02:49.151> have<00:02:49.311> at<00:02:49.391> least<00:02:49.584> some<00:02:49.712> sort<00:02:49.953> of<00:02:50.034> technical<00:02:50.435> background.

00:02:51.703 --> 00:02:56.600
What<00:02:51.864> is—<00:02:52.201> I<00:02:52.217> mean,<00:02:52.442> what<00:02:52.682> led<00:02:52.987> to<00:02:53.549> it<00:02:53.886> being<00:02:54.593> like<00:02:54.850> magic<00:02:55.974> through<00:02:56.118> Webflow?

00:02:57.402 --> 00:02:59.875
I<00:02:57.418> mean,<00:02:58.285> credit<00:02:58.783> due<00:02:59.168> to<00:02:59.329> the<00:02:59.425> founders.

00:03:00.148 --> 00:03:02.748
They<00:03:00.613> are<00:03:01.352> this<00:03:01.592> really<00:03:01.897> unique<00:03:02.475> blend.

00:03:02.796 --> 00:03:04.771
There's<00:03:02.957> 3<00:03:03.182> of<00:03:03.278> them,<00:03:03.599> Vlad,<00:03:04.001> Bryant,<00:03:04.306> and<00:03:04.386> Sergiy.

00:03:05.349 --> 00:03:11.203
They<00:03:05.429> are<00:03:05.526> this<00:03:05.750> unique<00:03:05.991> combination<00:03:06.874> of<00:03:07.452> frontend<00:03:08.013> and<00:03:08.157> backend<00:03:08.478> developers<00:03:09.119> paired<00:03:09.456> with<00:03:09.616> design<00:03:10.402> prowess.

00:03:11.524 --> 00:03:19.636
And<00:03:12.887> they've<00:03:14.089> always<00:03:14.586> sort<00:03:15.003> of<00:03:15.147> had<00:03:15.308> this<00:03:15.612> eye<00:03:15.933> to<00:03:16.029> like,<00:03:16.270> what<00:03:16.430> does<00:03:16.670> great<00:03:17.071> design,<00:03:17.536> what<00:03:17.616> does<00:03:17.793> great<00:03:17.969> experience<00:03:19.139> look<00:03:19.316> like?

00:03:20.743 --> 00:03:23.484
And,<00:03:21.063> you<00:03:21.159> know,<00:03:21.320> Vlad<00:03:21.705> himself,<00:03:22.426> you<00:03:22.458> know,<00:03:22.602> he<00:03:22.683> was<00:03:22.779> a<00:03:22.843> previous<00:03:23.164> CEO.

00:03:24.190 --> 00:03:27.027
He'd<00:03:24.286> actually<00:03:24.526> been<00:03:24.751> building<00:03:25.087> websites<00:03:26.210> to<00:03:26.370> fund<00:03:26.755> Webflow.

00:03:27.476 --> 00:03:29.240
So<00:03:27.653> it<00:03:27.733> was<00:03:27.893> sort<00:03:28.134> of<00:03:28.198> his<00:03:28.438> freelance<00:03:28.919> gig.

00:03:29.721 --> 00:03:31.805
And<00:03:29.801> he's<00:03:29.977> this<00:03:30.202> engineer<00:03:30.763> who<00:03:30.923> also<00:03:31.164> went<00:03:31.244> to<00:03:31.420> art<00:03:31.564> school.

00:03:32.687 --> 00:03:37.722
And<00:03:32.767> he<00:03:32.863> was<00:03:33.023> always<00:03:33.328> like,<00:03:33.665> why<00:03:33.841> is<00:03:33.985> it<00:03:34.065> so<00:03:34.627> hard<00:03:35.332> even<00:03:35.492> as<00:03:35.605> an<00:03:35.733> engineer<00:03:36.069> to<00:03:36.150> go<00:03:36.390> build<00:03:36.631> these<00:03:37.176> these<00:03:37.433> websites.

00:03:37.834 --> 00:03:39.504
Like,<00:03:38.091> it<00:03:38.235> doesn't<00:03:38.621> have<00:03:38.733> to<00:03:38.813> be<00:03:38.958> this<00:03:39.118> difficult.

00:03:40.146 --> 00:03:42.731
And<00:03:40.226> Sergi,<00:03:40.788> his<00:03:40.884> brother,<00:03:42.088> is<00:03:42.185> a<00:03:42.249> designer.

00:03:43.212 --> 00:03:45.123
And<00:03:43.292> Sergi<00:03:43.597> was<00:03:43.758> the<00:03:43.935> first<00:03:44.320> customer<00:03:44.657> of<00:03:44.737> Webflow.

00:03:45.203 --> 00:03:47.338
He<00:03:45.283> was<00:03:45.379> the<00:03:45.460> first<00:03:45.781> person<00:03:46.006> that<00:03:46.102> we<00:03:46.198> were<00:03:46.262> designing<00:03:46.728> and<00:03:46.824> building<00:03:47.210> for.

00:03:47.964 --> 00:03:53.615
And<00:03:48.028> so<00:03:48.992> Vlad<00:03:49.457> and<00:03:49.618> Bryant<00:03:49.971> started<00:03:50.260> building<00:03:50.517> this<00:03:50.597> platform<00:03:51.785> and<00:03:51.946> they<00:03:52.106> built<00:03:52.347> it<00:03:52.588> with<00:03:52.764> Sergi<00:03:53.166> in<00:03:53.246> mind.

00:03:53.792 --> 00:04:01.963
How<00:03:53.968> do<00:03:54.049> we<00:03:54.113> get<00:03:54.225> a<00:03:54.289> designer<00:03:54.691> into<00:03:54.851> this<00:03:55.012> place<00:03:55.734> to<00:03:55.879> go<00:03:56.216> build<00:03:56.762> in<00:03:56.842> a<00:03:57.019> very<00:03:57.259> intuitive<00:03:57.821> way<00:03:58.608> while<00:03:58.704> in<00:03:58.849> the<00:03:58.945> background,<00:03:59.908> you<00:03:59.989> know,<00:04:00.213> Webflow<00:04:00.534> would<00:04:00.615> handle<00:04:00.872> all<00:04:01.032> that<00:04:01.112> complexity<00:04:01.739> of<00:04:01.819> code.

00:04:02.638 --> 00:04:13.835
And<00:04:02.718> so<00:04:02.782> they<00:04:02.959> built<00:04:03.199> it<00:04:03.360> with<00:04:03.521> that<00:04:03.697> magic<00:04:04.018> in<00:04:04.050> mind<00:04:04.484> of<00:04:04.564> how<00:04:04.725> do<00:04:04.805> we<00:04:04.885> empower<00:04:05.286> a<00:04:05.431> designer<00:04:05.929> who<00:04:06.153> isn't<00:04:06.330> technical,<00:04:07.613> to<00:04:07.694> be<00:04:07.774> able<00:04:07.998> to<00:04:08.094> build<00:04:08.335> something<00:04:08.640> so<00:04:08.960> powerful<00:04:09.457> and<00:04:09.602> beautiful<00:04:09.938> without<00:04:10.195> sacrificing<00:04:11.702> what<00:04:11.847> someone<00:04:12.087> would<00:04:12.183> do<00:04:12.344> else,<00:04:12.745> you<00:04:12.825> know,<00:04:13.049> otherwise<00:04:13.370> with<00:04:13.530> code.

00:04:14.653 --> 00:04:25.220
And<00:04:14.749> because<00:04:15.310> they<00:04:16.673> were<00:04:16.753> so<00:04:17.154> hardline<00:04:17.571> about<00:04:17.780> ensuring<00:04:18.100> that<00:04:18.341> every<00:04:18.758> element,<00:04:19.078> every<00:04:19.223> component<00:04:19.784> that<00:04:19.864> you<00:04:19.960> drag<00:04:20.265> onto<00:04:20.522> the<00:04:20.586> screen<00:04:20.906> is<00:04:21.548> actually<00:04:21.708> a<00:04:21.804> one-to-one<00:04:22.189> mapping<00:04:22.510> with<00:04:22.606> code,<00:04:23.392> you<00:04:23.424> never<00:04:23.664> sacrifice<00:04:24.274> the<00:04:24.434> power<00:04:24.771> of<00:04:24.995> code.

00:04:25.348 --> 00:04:27.304
So<00:04:25.476> you<00:04:25.573> could<00:04:25.717> really<00:04:25.957> build<00:04:26.198> anything<00:04:26.599> you<00:04:26.695> can<00:04:26.839> imagine.

00:04:27.882 --> 00:04:33.879
And<00:04:28.042> they've<00:04:28.138> continued<00:04:28.619> to<00:04:28.683> invest<00:04:29.164> in<00:04:29.245> that<00:04:29.405> way<00:04:29.597> such<00:04:29.886> that<00:04:30.127> even<00:04:30.303> today<00:04:30.688> with<00:04:30.848> Webflow,<00:04:31.906> there's<00:04:32.067> nothing<00:04:32.372> you<00:04:32.468> can't<00:04:32.692> do<00:04:32.772> with<00:04:32.869> Webflow<00:04:33.205> that<00:04:33.334> you<00:04:33.430> can<00:04:33.510> do<00:04:33.590> with<00:04:33.751> code.

00:04:35.598 --> 00:04:37.655
And<00:04:35.758> what<00:04:36.321> are<00:04:36.433> some<00:04:36.658> incredible<00:04:37.141> products?

00:04:37.703 --> 00:04:43.810
I<00:04:37.783> mean,<00:04:38.330> I<00:04:38.426> can<00:04:38.587> think<00:04:38.764> of<00:04:38.844> a<00:04:38.908> few,<00:04:39.391> but<00:04:39.953> what<00:04:40.098> are<00:04:40.130> some<00:04:40.355> incredible<00:04:40.757> products<00:04:41.303> or<00:04:41.399> companies<00:04:41.882> that<00:04:42.026> have<00:04:42.348> literally<00:04:42.685> been<00:04:42.910> built<00:04:43.232> on<00:04:43.328> Webflow?

00:04:44.720 --> 00:04:47.785
Oh<00:04:44.884> man,<00:04:45.212> I<00:04:45.228> mean,<00:04:45.720> we've<00:04:45.867> seen<00:04:46.129> so<00:04:46.375> many<00:04:46.769> incredible<00:04:47.113> websites.

00:04:49.117 --> 00:04:50.766
I<00:04:49.360> do<00:04:49.764> Orange<00:04:49.942> Theory<00:04:50.168> Fitness<00:04:50.426> a<00:04:50.507> lot.

00:04:50.831 --> 00:04:52.560
I<00:04:50.863> don't<00:04:51.073> know<00:04:51.121> if<00:04:51.170> you<00:04:51.235> like<00:04:51.396> to<00:04:51.461> put<00:04:51.623> yourself<00:04:51.881> through<00:04:52.043> that<00:04:52.285> pain.

00:04:52.851 --> 00:04:52.996
Yeah.

00:04:53.417 --> 00:04:55.405
Orange<00:04:53.562> Theory<00:04:53.740> Fitness's<00:04:54.128> website<00:04:54.710> built<00:04:54.887> on<00:04:55.017> Webflow.

00:04:56.954 --> 00:05:03.621
When<00:04:57.101> you<00:04:57.198> go<00:04:57.442> and<00:04:57.588> you<00:04:57.686> book<00:04:57.848> your<00:04:58.011> classes,<00:04:58.969> every<00:04:59.213> morning<00:04:59.457> when<00:04:59.571> I<00:04:59.701> book<00:04:59.863> my<00:04:59.961> classes<00:05:00.464> and<00:05:00.594> I<00:05:00.757> get<00:05:01.017> ready<00:05:01.261> for<00:05:01.342> that<00:05:01.569> pain,<00:05:02.162> I<00:05:02.242> know<00:05:02.402> it's<00:05:02.707> running<00:05:02.947> on<00:05:03.124> Webflow.

00:05:04.150 --> 00:05:07.952
I<00:05:04.648> get<00:05:04.808> to<00:05:04.888> go,<00:05:05.674> what's<00:05:05.851> really<00:05:06.075> cool<00:05:06.187> is<00:05:06.316> actually<00:05:06.556> I<00:05:06.572> see<00:05:06.797> a<00:05:06.813> bunch<00:05:07.037> of<00:05:07.070> these<00:05:07.294> like<00:05:07.454> cool<00:05:07.695> sites.

00:05:08.000 --> 00:05:09.684
So<00:05:08.160> it's<00:05:08.754> Orchard<00:05:09.139> Fitness.

00:05:09.764 --> 00:05:11.544
I<00:05:09.796> see,<00:05:10.261> you<00:05:10.342> know,<00:05:10.502> sites<00:05:10.726> from<00:05:10.903> Dropbox.

00:05:11.609 --> 00:05:14.127
I<00:05:11.625> see<00:05:11.801> sites<00:05:12.106> from,<00:05:13.132> you<00:05:13.164> know,<00:05:13.309> waste<00:05:13.549> management.

00:05:14.175 --> 00:05:19.147
Like<00:05:14.816> they<00:05:14.849> have<00:05:14.993> these<00:05:15.378> powerful<00:05:15.971> main.coms<00:05:16.982> are<00:05:17.142> all<00:05:17.383> hosted<00:05:17.784> on<00:05:18.201> Webflow.

00:05:19.548 --> 00:05:22.018
You<00:05:19.628> know,<00:05:19.740> Discord,<00:05:20.286> I'm<00:05:20.863> a<00:05:20.991> big<00:05:21.168> Discord<00:05:21.633> person.

00:05:22.531 --> 00:05:23.670
Their<00:05:22.692> website's<00:05:23.077> on<00:05:23.157> Webflow.

00:05:23.766 --> 00:05:30.663
So<00:05:24.280> you<00:05:24.376> can<00:05:24.536> find<00:05:25.883> just<00:05:26.060> under<00:05:26.862> 1%<00:05:27.118> of<00:05:28.065> the<00:05:28.225> CMS-powered<00:05:29.187> websites<00:05:29.749> are<00:05:29.829> hosted<00:05:30.150> on<00:05:30.230> Webflow.

00:05:31.835 --> 00:05:39.314
And<00:05:31.915> do<00:05:31.979> you<00:05:32.156> integrate<00:05:32.557> with<00:05:32.717> things<00:05:33.038> like<00:05:33.343> WordPress<00:05:34.386> and<00:05:34.563> like<00:05:34.804> other<00:05:35.109> like<00:05:35.349> platforms<00:05:36.232> or<00:05:36.312> like<00:05:36.473> how<00:05:36.585> did—<00:05:37.436> I<00:05:37.468> mean,<00:05:37.837> WordPress<00:05:38.110> isn't<00:05:38.238> the<00:05:38.335> only<00:05:38.463> one,<00:05:38.575> like<00:05:38.800> Ghost.

00:05:39.362 --> 00:05:42.732
And<00:05:39.458> I'm<00:05:39.619> just<00:05:39.843> thinking<00:05:40.100> like,<00:05:40.261> I<00:05:40.277> mean,<00:05:40.437> there's<00:05:40.646> millions<00:05:40.983> of<00:05:41.127> them,<00:05:41.769> but<00:05:41.866> how<00:05:42.026> does<00:05:42.203> that<00:05:42.411> all<00:05:42.572> work?

00:05:42.829 --> 00:05:45.252
Or<00:05:42.989> does<00:05:43.149> Webflow<00:05:43.470> have<00:05:43.631> its<00:05:43.775> own<00:05:43.936> kind<00:05:44.048> of<00:05:44.096> like<00:05:44.337> backend<00:05:44.835> platform?

00:05:45.958 --> 00:05:48.622
So<00:05:46.103> Webflow<00:05:46.359> does<00:05:46.536> have<00:05:46.680> its,<00:05:46.905> it's<00:05:47.226> a<00:05:47.242> seamlessly<00:05:47.868> integrated<00:05:48.221> backend.

00:05:48.687 --> 00:06:02.542
So<00:05:49.473> if<00:05:49.553> you<00:05:49.650> think<00:05:49.826> about<00:05:50.051> Webflow<00:05:50.677> as<00:05:50.934> not<00:05:51.238> only<00:05:51.495> the<00:05:51.656> visual<00:05:51.977> development<00:05:52.683> piece<00:05:52.940> where<00:05:53.020> you<00:05:53.100> can<00:05:53.261> just<00:05:53.405> go<00:05:53.566> and<00:05:53.646> you<00:05:53.726> can<00:05:53.822> drag<00:05:53.983> components<00:05:54.400> on<00:05:54.529> a<00:05:54.561> screen<00:05:54.946> and<00:05:55.106> interact<00:05:55.411> with<00:05:55.492> them<00:05:55.588> and<00:05:55.668> design<00:05:55.989> your<00:05:56.069> website,<00:05:57.033> We<00:05:57.113> also<00:05:57.338> have<00:05:57.434> a<00:05:57.450> CMS,<00:05:58.157> a<00:05:58.318> really<00:05:58.559> powerful<00:05:59.040> CMS,<00:06:00.149> uh,<00:06:00.309> that's<00:06:00.566> seamlessly<00:06:01.112> integrated<00:06:01.675> into<00:06:01.851> the<00:06:01.996> designers.

00:06:02.590 --> 00:06:08.614
If<00:06:02.719> you<00:06:02.799> wanna<00:06:03.120> add<00:06:03.217> things<00:06:03.602> like<00:06:03.715> a<00:06:03.779> blog<00:06:04.004> or<00:06:04.421> things<00:06:04.518> that<00:06:04.662> are<00:06:04.727> requiring<00:06:05.144> a<00:06:05.176> data<00:06:05.401> structure,<00:06:05.947> that's<00:06:06.188> really<00:06:07.393> where<00:06:07.554> a<00:06:07.698> lot<00:06:07.779> of<00:06:07.859> the<00:06:07.955> backend<00:06:08.276> comes<00:06:08.437> from.

00:06:08.678 --> 00:06:10.011
And<00:06:08.774> then<00:06:08.855> we<00:06:08.935> have<00:06:09.160> integrated<00:06:09.545> hosting.

00:06:10.525 --> 00:06:15.392
So<00:06:10.911> once<00:06:11.152> you've<00:06:11.248> designed<00:06:11.650> and<00:06:11.730> built<00:06:11.955> your<00:06:12.035> site,<00:06:12.517> you<00:06:12.597> actually<00:06:12.838> just<00:06:13.015> click<00:06:13.192> a<00:06:13.256> button<00:06:13.979> and<00:06:14.075> it's<00:06:14.284> published<00:06:14.782> and<00:06:14.878> it's<00:06:15.087> live.

00:06:15.854 --> 00:06:22.155
So<00:06:15.874> you<00:06:15.970> don't<00:06:16.292> really<00:06:16.549> need<00:06:16.790> to<00:06:16.934> integrate<00:06:17.272> with<00:06:17.336> the<00:06:17.432> likes<00:06:17.898> of<00:06:18.316> like<00:06:18.476> a<00:06:18.541> WordPress<00:06:18.958> or<00:06:19.022> a<00:06:19.038> Ghost,<00:06:19.440> but<00:06:19.520> rather<00:06:19.826> we<00:06:19.890> actually<00:06:20.083> have<00:06:20.243> the<00:06:20.323> full<00:06:20.725> stack<00:06:21.608> in<00:06:21.753> one<00:06:21.930> place.

00:06:23.053 --> 00:06:24.863
That's<00:06:24.078> so<00:06:24.334> incredible.

00:06:26.017 --> 00:06:28.148
And<00:06:26.097> how<00:06:26.337> has<00:06:26.802> AI<00:06:27.299> changed<00:06:27.764> all<00:06:27.860> of<00:06:28.004> this?

00:06:28.260 --> 00:06:35.599
Tell<00:06:28.372> me<00:06:28.565> about<00:06:29.462> the<00:06:29.606> way<00:06:30.007> AI<00:06:30.424> is<00:06:30.664> obviously<00:06:30.984> facilitating<00:06:31.689> a<00:06:31.770> lot<00:06:31.946> of<00:06:32.026> this<00:06:32.891> and<00:06:32.971> how<00:06:33.212> you're<00:06:33.308> thinking<00:06:33.724> about<00:06:34.093> it<00:06:34.253> and<00:06:34.333> implementing<00:06:34.830> it<00:06:34.910> within<00:06:35.151> the<00:06:35.231> company.

00:06:36.416 --> 00:06:36.497
Yeah.

00:06:36.673 --> 00:06:39.830
I<00:06:36.689> mean,<00:06:36.897> I<00:06:36.913> think,<00:06:37.795> gosh,<00:06:38.179> there's<00:06:38.419> so<00:06:38.692> much<00:06:38.996> going<00:06:39.237> on<00:06:39.317> with<00:06:39.541> AI.

00:06:40.455 --> 00:06:48.851
First,<00:06:40.839> to<00:06:40.935> me,<00:06:41.384> philosophically,<00:06:42.522> I<00:06:42.602> think<00:06:42.906> AI,<00:06:43.147> like<00:06:43.323> any<00:06:43.483> other<00:06:43.643> technology,<00:06:44.124> you<00:06:44.749> have<00:06:44.925> to<00:06:45.069> ask<00:06:45.246> yourself,<00:06:46.031> is<00:06:46.191> this<00:06:46.752> a<00:06:46.848> disruptor<00:06:47.729> or<00:06:47.810> is<00:06:47.954> this<00:06:48.114> an<00:06:48.194> accelerator?

00:06:49.316 --> 00:06:54.165
And<00:06:49.380> I<00:06:49.396> think<00:06:49.509> in<00:06:49.653> general,<00:06:49.990> most<00:06:50.231> technologies,<00:06:51.082> if<00:06:51.163> you<00:06:51.339> look<00:06:51.500> at<00:06:51.596> it<00:06:51.741> as<00:06:51.821> an<00:06:51.901> accelerator,<00:06:52.704> it<00:06:52.784> is<00:06:52.945> just<00:06:53.491> that.

00:06:54.229 --> 00:06:58.805
And<00:06:54.310> to<00:06:54.534> us,<00:06:54.727> it's<00:06:54.888> an<00:06:54.952> accelerator<00:06:55.658> of<00:06:55.755> taking<00:06:56.220> the<00:06:56.301> core<00:06:56.477> value<00:06:56.782> proposition<00:06:57.216> of<00:06:57.360> Webflow<00:06:58.003> and<00:06:58.147> enhancing<00:06:58.709> it.

00:06:59.528 --> 00:07:02.145
So<00:06:59.865> for<00:07:00.154> us,<00:07:00.347> it's<00:07:01.037> democratizing<00:07:01.696> technology.

00:07:02.739 --> 00:07:06.801
It's<00:07:02.836> about<00:07:03.060> allowing<00:07:03.381> people<00:07:03.542> to<00:07:03.687> move<00:07:03.847> faster<00:07:04.971> and<00:07:05.870> improving<00:07:06.416> ease<00:07:06.529> of<00:07:06.657> use.

00:07:07.540 --> 00:07:09.643
And<00:07:08.263> for<00:07:08.744> us,<00:07:08.985> AI<00:07:09.226> does<00:07:09.467> that.

00:07:09.804 --> 00:07:15.135
It's<00:07:09.965> about,<00:07:10.446> you<00:07:10.543> know,<00:07:11.233> when<00:07:11.490> someone<00:07:11.731> comes<00:07:11.972> into<00:07:12.052> Webflow,<00:07:13.096> they<00:07:13.176> already<00:07:13.433> move<00:07:13.658> pretty<00:07:13.898> fast<00:07:14.220> in<00:07:14.300> designing<00:07:14.605> that<00:07:14.701> website.

00:07:15.263 --> 00:07:24.114
With<00:07:15.488> AI,<00:07:15.905> they<00:07:16.050> can<00:07:16.146> go<00:07:16.307> from<00:07:16.483> zero<00:07:17.013> to<00:07:17.672> a<00:07:17.736> prototype<00:07:18.379> very<00:07:18.555> quickly,<00:07:18.957> whether<00:07:19.198> it's<00:07:19.294> a<00:07:19.423> prompt-based,<00:07:20.306> you<00:07:20.339> know,<00:07:21.029> sort<00:07:21.126> of<00:07:21.286> blank<00:07:21.592> canvas<00:07:22.090> to<00:07:22.234> prototype.

00:07:24.259 --> 00:07:26.524
That<00:07:24.435> is<00:07:24.580> a<00:07:24.885> core<00:07:25.046> use<00:07:25.287> case<00:07:25.849> of<00:07:26.251> AI.

00:07:27.070 --> 00:07:35.601
In<00:07:27.150> addition<00:07:27.488> to<00:07:27.568> that,<00:07:28.034> iteration,<00:07:28.677> 'cause<00:07:28.773> you're<00:07:28.869> never<00:07:29.078> gonna,<00:07:29.946> you<00:07:29.978> know,<00:07:30.042> sort<00:07:30.508> of<00:07:30.685> design<00:07:31.006> something<00:07:31.263> and<00:07:31.392> call<00:07:31.633> it,<00:07:31.729> but<00:07:31.793> you're<00:07:31.890> gonna<00:07:32.050> tweak<00:07:32.516> it<00:07:32.773> and<00:07:32.854> you're<00:07:32.934> gonna<00:07:33.159> change<00:07:33.496> things<00:07:33.802> and<00:07:33.898> you're<00:07:34.026> gonna<00:07:34.123> wanna<00:07:34.300> iterate<00:07:34.862> and<00:07:35.006> get<00:07:35.183> feedback.

00:07:35.665 --> 00:07:40.694
And<00:07:36.292> the<00:07:36.388> process<00:07:36.806> of<00:07:36.934> doing<00:07:37.191> that,<00:07:37.497> you<00:07:37.529> know,<00:07:37.657> you<00:07:37.689> see<00:07:37.834> that<00:07:37.914> in<00:07:38.075> code<00:07:38.316> today<00:07:38.718> with<00:07:38.814> like<00:07:39.103> these<00:07:39.264> Copilot-like<00:07:40.003> experiences.

00:07:41.128 --> 00:07:44.357
For<00:07:41.352> us,<00:07:41.513> we<00:07:41.593> have<00:07:41.706> a<00:07:41.770> very<00:07:41.947> similar<00:07:42.654> solution<00:07:43.055> called<00:07:43.361> AI<00:07:43.618> Design<00:07:43.875> Assistant.

00:07:44.662 --> 00:07:52.225
That<00:07:44.806> allows<00:07:45.207> you<00:07:45.287> to<00:07:45.543> go<00:07:45.703> and<00:07:45.944> iterate<00:07:46.264> different<00:07:46.521> sections<00:07:47.290> and<00:07:47.466> start<00:07:47.690> to<00:07:47.787> change<00:07:48.091> them,<00:07:48.171> whether<00:07:48.411> it's<00:07:48.892> you<00:07:48.972> wanna<00:07:49.069> change<00:07:49.309> styles,<00:07:50.334> layouts,<00:07:50.847> structure,<00:07:51.793> whatever.

00:07:53.139 --> 00:07:56.760
We<00:07:53.219> have<00:07:53.379> this<00:07:53.700> AI<00:07:53.876> copilot<00:07:54.277> called<00:07:54.581> AI<00:07:54.757> Design<00:07:55.094> Assistant.

00:07:57.081 --> 00:08:09.228
In<00:07:57.161> addition<00:07:57.482> to<00:07:57.578> that,<00:07:58.283> we<00:07:58.363> have<00:07:58.587> AI<00:07:58.844> help<00:07:59.405> generate<00:07:59.789> content<00:08:00.526> because<00:08:00.831> a<00:08:00.847> lot<00:08:01.007> of<00:08:01.087> times<00:08:01.408> you<00:08:01.488> might<00:08:01.648> design<00:08:01.888> the<00:08:01.969> shell<00:08:02.209> of<00:08:02.369> a<00:08:02.385> site,<00:08:02.690> but<00:08:02.834> you<00:08:02.930> really<00:08:03.186> need,<00:08:03.956> you<00:08:03.988> know,<00:08:04.292> text,<00:08:04.693> you<00:08:04.789> need<00:08:05.093> imagery,<00:08:06.295> and<00:08:06.375> then<00:08:06.520> you<00:08:06.616> need<00:08:06.744> to<00:08:06.840> translate<00:08:07.401> that<00:08:07.497> text<00:08:07.737> and<00:08:07.818> imagery<00:08:08.122> as<00:08:08.202> you<00:08:08.298> think<00:08:08.459> about<00:08:08.619> localization.

00:08:09.420 --> 00:08:11.923
And<00:08:09.516> so<00:08:09.805> AI,<00:08:10.478> is<00:08:10.622> the<00:08:10.687> backbone<00:08:11.024> to<00:08:11.104> power<00:08:11.425> a<00:08:11.569> lot<00:08:11.746> of<00:08:11.810> that.

00:08:12.003 --> 00:08:19.740
So<00:08:12.083> we<00:08:12.212> have<00:08:12.308> a<00:08:12.388> writing<00:08:12.709> assistant,<00:08:13.737> we're<00:08:13.833> working<00:08:14.074> through<00:08:14.395> image<00:08:14.619> generation<00:08:15.197> and<00:08:15.358> integrating<00:08:15.823> third-party<00:08:16.176> solutions<00:08:16.802> like<00:08:17.445> Adobe<00:08:17.846> Photoshop<00:08:18.183> Express<00:08:18.600> to<00:08:18.729> do<00:08:18.889> image<00:08:19.114> generation.

00:08:20.318 --> 00:08:22.710
And<00:08:20.559> then<00:08:20.719> we<00:08:20.880> also<00:08:21.361> leverage<00:08:21.763> a<00:08:21.779> translation<00:08:22.357> service.

00:08:22.822 --> 00:08:29.997
So<00:08:22.999> as<00:08:23.143> people<00:08:23.448> want<00:08:23.625> to<00:08:23.689> take<00:08:23.785> their<00:08:23.881> website<00:08:24.491> and<00:08:25.053> unlock<00:08:25.374> it<00:08:25.455> for<00:08:25.615> whatever<00:08:26.032> geos<00:08:26.434> and<00:08:26.594> languages<00:08:27.301> that<00:08:27.557> they<00:08:27.654> support,<00:08:28.826> all<00:08:28.986> of<00:08:29.018> that<00:08:29.227> is<00:08:29.387> AI-powered.

00:08:30.206 --> 00:08:37.847
And<00:08:30.286> so<00:08:30.447> we<00:08:30.543> see<00:08:30.993> AI<00:08:31.410> throughout<00:08:31.827> our<00:08:31.972> product<00:08:32.598> as<00:08:33.336> this<00:08:33.673> accelerant<00:08:34.380> to<00:08:34.524> how<00:08:34.781> people<00:08:35.343> get<00:08:35.648> more<00:08:35.776> value<00:08:36.049> out<00:08:36.129> of<00:08:36.210> Webflow<00:08:36.611> faster<00:08:37.269> and<00:08:37.349> seamlessly.

00:08:38.989 --> 00:08:42.919
In<00:08:39.539> addition<00:08:39.879> to<00:08:40.059> that,<00:08:40.359> though,<00:08:40.439> I<00:08:40.440> think<00:08:40.639> AI<00:08:40.919> is<00:08:41.079> a<00:08:41.179> really<00:08:41.359> interesting<00:08:41.659> technology<00:08:42.219> in<00:08:42.419> general.

00:08:43.339 --> 00:08:51.619
It's<00:08:43.939> not<00:08:44.139> just<00:08:44.379> about<00:08:44.619> incorporating<00:08:45.039> it<00:08:45.259> into<00:08:45.339> our<00:08:45.479> product<00:08:45.839> to<00:08:46.019> make<00:08:46.099> our<00:08:46.279> product<00:08:46.559> more<00:08:46.739> powerful<00:08:47.119> for<00:08:47.319> our<00:08:47.639> customers,<00:08:48.359> but<00:08:48.519> it's<00:08:49.119> a<00:08:49.519> technology<00:08:49.779> that<00:08:49.959> we<00:08:50.059> can<00:08:50.219> leverage<00:08:50.459> in<00:08:50.599> our<00:08:50.839> day-to-day<00:08:51.019> operations.

00:08:52.299 --> 00:09:00.099
So<00:08:52.319> whether,<00:08:52.819> you<00:08:52.820> know,<00:08:53.119> right<00:08:53.199> now<00:08:53.419> we<00:08:53.519> have<00:08:54.258> an<00:08:54.379> AI<00:08:55.079> customer<00:08:55.379> support<00:08:55.819> agent<00:08:56.199> that<00:08:56.519> really<00:08:56.949> handles<00:08:57.399> a<00:08:57.559> lot<00:08:57.719> of<00:08:57.859> the<00:08:57.939> top<00:08:58.119> questions<00:08:58.379> that<00:08:58.519> we're<00:08:58.739> seeing,<00:08:58.959> that's<00:08:59.079> feeding<00:08:59.319> our<00:08:59.499> documentation.

00:09:00.879 --> 00:09:11.461

So<00:09:33.941> it's<00:09:34.086> something<00:09:34.343> that<00:09:34.439> I<00:09:34.503> think<00:09:34.664> can<00:09:34.825> plug<00:09:35.306> into<00:09:35.628> everything<00:09:35.949> we're<00:09:36.110> doing<00:09:36.656> to<00:09:36.752> improve<00:09:37.138> how<00:09:37.395> we<00:09:37.619> operate,<00:09:38.599> but<00:09:38.760> paired<00:09:39.161> with<00:09:39.402> the<00:09:39.547> talent<00:09:39.900> of<00:09:39.965> our<00:09:40.125> team<00:09:40.591> to<00:09:40.687> make<00:09:40.768> sure<00:09:40.993> that<00:09:41.153> we<00:09:41.185> still,<00:09:42.133> you<00:09:42.213> know,<00:09:42.695> both<00:09:43.017> from<00:09:43.241> an<00:09:43.402> operations<00:09:43.820> perspective<00:09:44.286> and<00:09:44.382> a<00:09:44.462> product<00:09:44.703> perspective,<00:09:45.747> we<00:09:45.908> believe<00:09:46.213> the<00:09:46.293> creator's<00:09:46.807> the<00:09:46.936> heart<00:09:47.659> of<00:09:47.900> what<00:09:48.060> you<00:09:48.157> want<00:09:48.301> to<00:09:48.382> accomplish.

00:09:48.799 --> 00:09:51.803
And<00:09:49.024> AI<00:09:49.217> is<00:09:49.361> a<00:09:49.426> partner,<00:09:50.309> like<00:09:50.470> a<00:09:50.550> collaborator<00:09:51.048> to<00:09:51.112> help<00:09:51.289> unlock<00:09:51.674> that.

00:09:52.959 --> 00:09:59.256
What<00:09:53.072> advice<00:09:53.441> would<00:09:53.538> you<00:09:53.682> have<00:09:53.859> for<00:09:54.357> software<00:09:54.742> developers,<00:09:55.385> people<00:09:55.626> who<00:09:55.867> wanna<00:09:56.172> be<00:09:56.268> software<00:09:56.606> developers,<00:09:57.088> software<00:09:57.473> engineers,<00:09:57.939> like<00:09:58.100> what<00:09:58.196> should<00:09:58.421> they<00:09:58.517> be<00:09:58.678> focused<00:09:59.144> on?

00:09:59.320 --> 00:10:09.324
Like,<00:09:59.882> We<00:10:00.107> really<00:10:00.348> are<00:10:00.444> coming<00:10:00.766> into<00:10:00.926> this<00:10:01.247> world<00:10:02.195> where<00:10:02.596> you<00:10:02.692> can<00:10:02.853> build<00:10:03.158> a<00:10:03.174> lot<00:10:03.351> of<00:10:03.495> things<00:10:03.736> without<00:10:04.362> having<00:10:04.619> to<00:10:04.716> know<00:10:04.924> how<00:10:04.956> to<00:10:05.101> code,<00:10:05.647> just<00:10:05.984> basically<00:10:06.385> by<00:10:06.931> prompting<00:10:07.493> and<00:10:07.590> things,<00:10:07.975> things<00:10:08.120> of<00:10:08.168> that<00:10:08.248> nature<00:10:08.553> and<00:10:08.617> what<00:10:08.778> Webflow<00:10:09.115> does.

00:10:09.998 --> 00:10:11.058
What<00:10:10.143> advice<00:10:10.480> do<00:10:10.560> you<00:10:10.640> have<00:10:10.865> for<00:10:10.962> them?

00:10:11.122 --> 00:10:12.503
I<00:10:11.138> mean,<00:10:11.347> should<00:10:11.524> they<00:10:11.604> just<00:10:11.780> stop<00:10:12.085> doing<00:10:12.310> that?

00:10:13.675 --> 00:10:14.317
Absolutely<00:10:14.028> not.

00:10:14.574 --> 00:10:24.754
I<00:10:14.735> think,<00:10:15.056> you<00:10:15.602> know,<00:10:15.762> I<00:10:15.843> was,<00:10:16.116> I<00:10:16.148> was<00:10:16.324> reading<00:10:16.581> this<00:10:16.806> article,<00:10:17.529> um,<00:10:18.332> and<00:10:18.974> you<00:10:19.006> know,<00:10:19.231> it<00:10:19.295> was<00:10:19.536> kind<00:10:19.712> of<00:10:19.777> one<00:10:19.889> of<00:10:19.937> those<00:10:20.098> like<00:10:20.258> doomsday<00:10:20.820> articles,<00:10:21.382> but<00:10:21.543> they<00:10:21.623> were<00:10:21.719> talking<00:10:21.896> about<00:10:22.121> how<00:10:23.309> AI<00:10:23.630> is<00:10:23.791> not<00:10:23.967> an<00:10:24.128> equalizer.

00:10:25.140 --> 00:10:32.551
It's<00:10:25.316> not<00:10:25.428> something<00:10:25.669> that<00:10:25.813> takes<00:10:26.134> everybody<00:10:26.439> and<00:10:26.535> suddenly<00:10:26.856> puts<00:10:27.032> us<00:10:27.177> on<00:10:27.241> the<00:10:27.337> same<00:10:27.562> playing<00:10:27.899> field,<00:10:28.605> but<00:10:28.701> rather<00:10:29.102> it's<00:10:29.246> a<00:10:29.278> multiplier<00:10:29.904> and<00:10:30.000> it<00:10:30.129> takes<00:10:30.369> the<00:10:30.546> best<00:10:30.867> engineers<00:10:31.348> and<00:10:31.428> makes<00:10:31.589> them<00:10:31.749> 10x<00:10:32.230> better.

00:10:33.096 --> 00:10:36.417
And<00:10:33.209> it<00:10:33.273> takes<00:10:34.139> mediocre<00:10:34.556> engineers<00:10:35.342> and<00:10:35.503> only<00:10:35.695> slightly<00:10:36.000> improves<00:10:36.321> them.

00:10:36.481 --> 00:10:40.701
And<00:10:36.562> so<00:10:36.658> what<00:10:36.786> you<00:10:36.818> see<00:10:37.027> is<00:10:37.059> this<00:10:37.348> larger<00:10:37.669> disparity<00:10:38.872> because<00:10:39.193> it<00:10:39.289> still<00:10:39.594> takes<00:10:39.850> a<00:10:39.914> lot<00:10:40.155> of<00:10:40.235> intention.

00:10:41.198 --> 00:10:44.246
And<00:10:41.374> there's,<00:10:41.920> you<00:10:41.952> know,<00:10:42.080> the<00:10:42.160> technology's<00:10:42.658> not<00:10:42.818> exactly<00:10:43.219> where<00:10:43.444> we<00:10:43.540> want<00:10:43.700> it<00:10:43.845> to<00:10:43.925> be<00:10:44.021> yet.

00:10:44.358 --> 00:10:51.481
It's<00:10:44.663> not<00:10:44.775> like<00:10:45.786> in<00:10:45.946> anything<00:10:46.267> I<00:10:46.347> do<00:10:46.508> where<00:10:46.588> I'm<00:10:46.748> writing<00:10:47.005> a<00:10:47.069> prompt<00:10:47.551> or<00:10:47.631> I'm<00:10:48.096> running,<00:10:48.593> you<00:10:48.674> know,<00:10:48.914> sort<00:10:49.075> of<00:10:49.219> a<00:10:49.315> query<00:10:50.101> or<00:10:50.262> a<00:10:50.278> sequence<00:10:50.839> and<00:10:50.936> it's<00:10:51.064> just<00:10:51.240> done.

00:10:51.882 --> 00:10:56.984
There's—<00:10:52.540> it<00:10:52.604> takes<00:10:52.989> a<00:10:53.005> lot<00:10:53.422> more<00:10:53.888> thought<00:10:54.449> and<00:10:54.545> understanding<00:10:55.268> to<00:10:55.749> actually<00:10:55.974> get<00:10:56.118> to<00:10:56.198> the<00:10:56.294> output<00:10:56.551> you<00:10:56.760> want.

00:10:57.032 --> 00:11:03.884
So<00:10:57.257> whether<00:10:57.498> it's<00:10:57.722> coding,<00:10:58.621> I<00:10:58.637> see<00:10:58.781> developers<00:10:59.888> leverage<00:11:00.209> AI<00:11:00.370> and<00:11:00.466> they're<00:11:00.610> constantly<00:11:01.092> reviewing<00:11:01.429> the<00:11:01.509> code<00:11:01.766> and<00:11:01.894> then<00:11:02.071> reprompting<00:11:02.632> and<00:11:02.728> reviewing<00:11:03.113> it<00:11:03.178> and<00:11:03.274> reprompting.

00:11:04.654 --> 00:11:08.938
It<00:11:04.718> takes<00:11:04.975> a<00:11:05.103> really<00:11:05.280> good<00:11:05.440> engineer<00:11:05.921> to<00:11:06.066> be<00:11:06.162> able<00:11:06.306> to<00:11:06.387> shape<00:11:06.740> it<00:11:06.804> into<00:11:06.980> the<00:11:07.109> right<00:11:07.269> direction<00:11:07.767> to<00:11:07.847> get<00:11:07.991> to<00:11:08.071> the<00:11:08.152> output<00:11:08.473> you<00:11:08.569> want.

00:11:09.451 --> 00:11:20.089
And<00:11:09.531> so<00:11:09.772> walking<00:11:10.157> away<00:11:10.398> from<00:11:10.558> having<00:11:10.799> that<00:11:10.895> core<00:11:11.377> knowledge<00:11:12.436> or<00:11:12.500> not<00:11:12.821> building<00:11:13.302> that<00:11:13.623> expertise,<00:11:14.987> I<00:11:15.067> think<00:11:15.243> is<00:11:15.532> actually<00:11:15.869> going<00:11:15.949> to<00:11:16.030> put<00:11:16.254> you<00:11:16.335> on<00:11:16.415> the<00:11:16.575> low<00:11:16.752> end<00:11:16.912> of<00:11:17.073> how<00:11:17.377> much<00:11:17.634> AI<00:11:17.795> can<00:11:18.019> truly<00:11:18.741> multiply<00:11:19.174> your<00:11:19.319> capabilities.

00:11:20.250 --> 00:11:27.970
And<00:11:20.750> so<00:11:20.870> I<00:11:20.871> do<00:11:21.070> think<00:11:21.190> there<00:11:21.410> is<00:11:21.690> foundational<00:11:22.470> expertise<00:11:23.110> and<00:11:23.310> excellence<00:11:23.630> that<00:11:23.770> people<00:11:23.970> should<00:11:24.170> strive<00:11:24.470> for,<00:11:24.950> and<00:11:25.310> they<00:11:25.430> should<00:11:25.570> look<00:11:25.850> at<00:11:25.950> AI<00:11:26.210> as<00:11:26.390> really<00:11:26.630> an<00:11:26.730> enhancement<00:11:27.150> to<00:11:27.330> what<00:11:27.450> they<00:11:27.690> have.

00:11:27.970 --> 00:11:31.630
And<00:11:28.110> it<00:11:28.170> can<00:11:28.289> only<00:11:28.570> enhance<00:11:29.350> your<00:11:30.050> core<00:11:30.390> capabilities<00:11:31.010> so<00:11:31.370> much.

00:11:31.630 --> 00:11:34.910
And<00:11:31.710> so<00:11:31.810> if<00:11:31.870> your<00:11:31.950> core<00:11:32.190> capabilities<00:11:32.670> are<00:11:32.910> light,<00:11:33.670> enhancement's<00:11:34.470> light.

00:11:34.910 --> 00:11:38.470
If<00:11:35.070> your<00:11:35.150> core<00:11:35.370> capabilities<00:11:35.770> are<00:11:36.010> strong,<00:11:36.890> it<00:11:37.290> can<00:11:37.430> take<00:11:37.590> you<00:11:37.790> so<00:11:37.930> much<00:11:38.070> further.

00:11:38.490 --> 00:11:40.330
And<00:11:38.730> I<00:11:38.930> think<00:11:38.931> people<00:11:39.130> should<00:11:39.270> approach<00:11:39.550> it<00:11:39.650> that<00:11:39.830> way.

00:11:40.530 --> 00:11:41.390
I<00:11:40.710> think<00:11:40.870> that's<00:11:41.030> brilliant.

00:11:41.390 --> 00:11:43.750
I<00:11:41.510> think<00:11:41.630> that's<00:11:41.790> the<00:11:41.950> best<00:11:42.130> answer<00:11:42.470> I've<00:11:42.730> heard<00:11:42.870> on<00:11:43.070> that,<00:11:43.310> actually.

00:11:43.750 --> 00:11:45.280
Like,<00:11:43.970> that<00:11:44.170> is<00:11:44.390> exactly<00:11:44.730> right.

00:11:45.650 --> 00:11:48.770
Um,<00:11:46.350> yeah,<00:11:46.650> that<00:11:46.790> was,<00:11:47.050> that<00:11:47.130> was,<00:11:47.590> that<00:11:47.591> was,<00:11:47.970> yeah,<00:11:48.170> you<00:11:48.330> won.

00:11:48.770 --> 00:11:49.820
Like,<00:11:49.030> that<00:11:49.150> was<00:11:49.290> the<00:11:49.330> right<00:11:49.470> answer.

00:11:49.850 --> 00:11:50.290
No,<00:11:50.230> I'm<00:11:50.250> just<00:11:50.270> kidding.

00:11:50.290 --> 00:11:50.350
I'm<00:11:50.310> an<00:11:50.330> Asian.

00:11:52.150 --> 00:11:52.230
Asian.

00:11:52.326 --> 00:11:54.334
I<00:11:52.423> like<00:11:52.583> positive<00:11:52.969> reinforcement.

00:11:54.832 --> 00:11:57.353
No,<00:11:54.992> that<00:11:55.217> was—<00:11:55.619> that—<00:11:55.940> I<00:11:56.036> think<00:11:56.197> that—<00:11:56.357> I<00:11:56.438> think<00:11:56.598> you're<00:11:56.743> exactly<00:11:57.160> right.

00:11:57.498 --> 00:12:00.405
It<00:11:57.546> can<00:11:57.626> only<00:11:57.883> enhance<00:11:58.927> what's<00:11:59.152> already<00:11:59.409> existing,<00:12:00.212> right?

00:12:01.400 --> 00:12:04.163
Um,<00:12:02.203> what<00:12:02.252> does<00:12:02.380> a<00:12:02.460> typical<00:12:02.781> day<00:12:02.942> look<00:12:03.103> like<00:12:03.279> for<00:12:03.408> you<00:12:03.665> as<00:12:03.745> CEO?

00:12:05.335 --> 00:12:11.663
You<00:12:05.367> know,<00:12:05.576> it's<00:12:05.688> funny,<00:12:06.218> I,<00:12:07.584> I<00:12:07.760> wish<00:12:08.065> I<00:12:08.226> had<00:12:08.483> an<00:12:08.563> answer<00:12:08.868> to<00:12:08.965> that,<00:12:09.350> but<00:12:09.447> it's<00:12:09.687> so—<00:12:10.153> my<00:12:10.250> days<00:12:10.571> are<00:12:10.731> constantly<00:12:11.277> changing.

00:12:12.177 --> 00:12:21.057
There's<00:12:12.418> always<00:12:12.659> things<00:12:12.900> going<00:12:13.221> on,<00:12:13.542> whether,<00:12:14.425> you<00:12:14.457> know,<00:12:14.570> I<00:12:14.586> was<00:12:14.730> looking<00:12:14.923> at<00:12:15.052> my<00:12:15.148> calendar,<00:12:16.031> I<00:12:16.112> have<00:12:16.610> days<00:12:16.899> where<00:12:16.947> I'm<00:12:17.156> doing<00:12:17.332> a<00:12:17.396> bunch<00:12:17.573> of<00:12:17.637> one-on-ones<00:12:18.119> and<00:12:18.264> coaching<00:12:19.083> I<00:12:19.099> have<00:12:19.243> days<00:12:19.548> where<00:12:19.709> I'm<00:12:19.949> doing<00:12:20.447> org<00:12:20.688> planning.

00:12:21.185 --> 00:12:23.528
I<00:12:21.217> have<00:12:21.346> days<00:12:21.635> where<00:12:21.731> I'm<00:12:21.956> prepping<00:12:22.437> for<00:12:22.630> QBRs.

00:12:23.753 --> 00:12:33.495
I<00:12:23.785> have<00:12:23.962> days<00:12:24.363> where<00:12:24.459> I<00:12:24.620> have<00:12:24.941> board<00:12:25.166> meetings<00:12:25.599> or,<00:12:26.305> you<00:12:26.385> know,<00:12:26.626> prep<00:12:26.867> for<00:12:27.011> board<00:12:27.252> meetings,<00:12:27.685> or<00:12:27.766> we'll<00:12:27.926> do<00:12:28.215> annual<00:12:29.114> planning<00:12:29.595> and<00:12:29.676> strategic<00:12:30.141> offsites,<00:12:30.639> or<00:12:30.703> we'll<00:12:30.863> have<00:12:31.505> strategy<00:12:31.923> conversations<00:12:32.565> on<00:12:32.709> pricing<00:12:32.982> and<00:12:33.110> packaging.

00:12:33.688 --> 00:12:36.641
So<00:12:33.865> it's<00:12:35.598> kind<00:12:35.775> of<00:12:35.919> all<00:12:36.015> over<00:12:36.240> the<00:12:36.336> place.

00:12:36.882 --> 00:12:50.318
But<00:12:36.994> I<00:12:37.139> think<00:12:37.877> if<00:12:38.006> I<00:12:38.022> were<00:12:38.118> to<00:12:38.343> look<00:12:38.503> for<00:12:38.664> points<00:12:38.920> of<00:12:39.049> consistency<00:12:39.707> in<00:12:39.787> what<00:12:39.883> my<00:12:40.092> day<00:12:40.413> is,<00:12:41.874> the<00:12:41.954> points<00:12:42.179> of<00:12:42.211> consistency<00:12:42.917> are<00:12:43.077> that<00:12:44.682> Every<00:12:45.004> day,<00:12:45.790> uh,<00:12:46.352> I<00:12:46.433> have<00:12:46.593> clarity<00:12:46.946> of<00:12:47.011> what's<00:12:47.235> the<00:12:47.267> most<00:12:47.476> important<00:12:47.813> thing<00:12:47.926> to<00:12:48.038> accomplish<00:12:49.001> and<00:12:49.194> it's<00:12:49.339> prioritized<00:12:49.820> on<00:12:49.852> my<00:12:49.981> calendar.

00:12:50.462 --> 00:12:52.084
And<00:12:50.543> if<00:12:50.623> it's<00:12:50.784> not,<00:12:51.105> then<00:12:51.249> things<00:12:51.490> move<00:12:51.667> around.

00:12:52.469 --> 00:12:58.972
And<00:12:52.566> so<00:12:52.694> it's<00:12:52.935> always,<00:12:53.497> um,<00:12:54.380> I<00:12:54.396> like<00:12:54.541> to<00:12:54.637> think<00:12:54.733> of<00:12:54.797> my<00:12:54.958> days<00:12:55.135> as<00:12:55.263> high<00:12:55.600> impact<00:12:55.986> days<00:12:56.804> and<00:12:57.109> every<00:12:57.366> day<00:12:57.607> is<00:12:57.704> meant<00:12:57.864> to<00:12:57.944> be<00:12:58.089> a<00:12:58.153> high<00:12:58.410> impact<00:12:58.763> day.

00:12:59.132 --> 00:13:01.428
Some,<00:12:59.470> sometimes<00:12:59.935> I<00:12:59.951> fail,<00:13:00.642> uh,<00:13:00.818> just<00:13:00.915> like<00:13:01.043> anybody<00:13:01.364> else.

00:13:01.477 --> 00:13:06.791
I'm<00:13:01.541> not<00:13:01.685> perfect,<00:13:02.022> but,<00:13:02.809> uh,<00:13:03.162> my<00:13:03.307> typical<00:13:03.773> days<00:13:04.254> are<00:13:04.351> ones<00:13:04.591> in<00:13:04.656> which<00:13:04.832> I<00:13:04.848> have<00:13:04.993> clarity<00:13:05.394> on<00:13:05.474> what<00:13:05.619> it<00:13:05.715> is<00:13:05.812> I'm<00:13:05.956> looking<00:13:06.149> to<00:13:06.213> accomplish.

00:13:07.305 --> 00:13:10.243
My<00:13:07.401> calendar<00:13:07.802> reflects<00:13:08.188> that<00:13:08.348> in<00:13:08.429> terms<00:13:08.621> of<00:13:08.686> where<00:13:08.766> I'm<00:13:08.926> spending<00:13:09.231> my<00:13:09.264> time<00:13:09.488> and<00:13:09.633> prioritizing.

00:13:11.800 --> 00:13:15.156
Tell<00:13:11.961> us<00:13:12.073> about,<00:13:12.362> like,<00:13:12.539> you<00:13:12.603> just<00:13:12.780> recently<00:13:13.245> launched<00:13:14.145> a<00:13:14.289> couple<00:13:14.610> things.

00:13:15.493 --> 00:13:21.418
You<00:13:15.654> did<00:13:15.895> the<00:13:16.617> Webflow<00:13:17.179> Optimize,<00:13:18.480> Webflow<00:13:19.186> Analyze,<00:13:19.845> and<00:13:19.925> this<00:13:20.230> was<00:13:20.471> launched<00:13:20.872> in<00:13:20.969> October.

00:13:21.515 --> 00:13:22.028
Tell<00:13:21.675> us<00:13:21.868> about<00:13:21.964> that.

00:13:22.093 --> 00:13:24.148
That<00:13:22.350> seemed<00:13:22.639> like<00:13:22.815> a<00:13:22.879> good<00:13:23.040> step<00:13:23.297> forward<00:13:23.602> for<00:13:23.698> the<00:13:23.843> company.

00:13:24.887 --> 00:13:25.432
Absolutely.

00:13:25.770 --> 00:13:34.344
We,<00:13:26.733> you<00:13:26.813> know,<00:13:26.910> so<00:13:27.086> a<00:13:27.134> lot<00:13:27.311> of<00:13:27.391> people<00:13:27.793> have<00:13:27.953> thought<00:13:28.178> about<00:13:28.499> us<00:13:28.756> as<00:13:29.142> a<00:13:29.238> website<00:13:29.639> builder,<00:13:30.362> the<00:13:30.426> ability<00:13:30.763> to<00:13:30.827> come<00:13:31.020> in,<00:13:31.261> design<00:13:31.887> a<00:13:31.951> website,<00:13:32.433> build<00:13:32.674> it,<00:13:33.075> publish<00:13:33.477> it,<00:13:34.135> run<00:13:34.231> it.

00:13:35.950 --> 00:13:43.612
The<00:13:36.062> thing<00:13:36.222> is,<00:13:36.318> as<00:13:36.398> soon<00:13:36.623> as<00:13:36.703> you<00:13:36.847> launch<00:13:37.040> a<00:13:37.104> website,<00:13:38.386> I<00:13:38.466> think<00:13:39.268> a<00:13:39.348> lot<00:13:39.492> of<00:13:39.572> people<00:13:39.749> used<00:13:39.941> to<00:13:40.005> think<00:13:40.166> about<00:13:40.310> websites<00:13:40.871> the<00:13:40.935> same<00:13:41.176> way<00:13:41.272> that<00:13:41.432> they<00:13:41.592> think<00:13:41.753> about<00:13:42.458> brick<00:13:42.634> and<00:13:42.779> mortar,<00:13:43.500> right?

00:13:43.692 --> 00:13:44.766
It's<00:13:43.821> like<00:13:43.917> this<00:13:44.237> fixed<00:13:44.558> thing.

00:13:44.959 --> 00:13:49.319
It's<00:13:45.071> just<00:13:45.215> a<00:13:45.263> store<00:13:45.760> and<00:13:45.840> it's<00:13:46.065> structured,<00:13:46.578> or<00:13:47.107> it's<00:13:47.187> sort<00:13:47.299> of<00:13:47.363> like<00:13:47.540> an<00:13:47.668> entity<00:13:48.005> that<00:13:48.229> you<00:13:48.277> just<00:13:48.389> go<00:13:48.566> to<00:13:48.806> and<00:13:48.950> that's<00:13:49.191> it.

00:13:50.153 --> 00:13:59.803
The<00:13:50.249> reality<00:13:50.730> is<00:13:51.435> when<00:13:51.611> you<00:13:52.157> go<00:13:52.413> from<00:13:52.734> brick<00:13:52.910> and<00:13:53.038> mortar<00:13:53.455> and<00:13:53.599> you<00:13:53.695> go<00:13:54.080> onto<00:13:54.497> the<00:13:54.657> internet<00:13:55.138> and<00:13:55.218> you<00:13:55.363> think<00:13:55.539> about<00:13:55.860> the<00:13:56.004> dynamism<00:13:56.517> of<00:13:56.581> the<00:13:56.725> web,<00:13:57.126> there's<00:13:57.944> no<00:13:58.184> reason<00:13:58.505> why<00:13:58.729> websites<00:13:59.002> should<00:13:59.146> be<00:13:59.226> static.

00:13:59.947 --> 00:14:08.855
And<00:14:00.092> that's<00:14:00.332> why<00:14:00.492> the<00:14:00.573> best<00:14:00.813> companies<00:14:01.294> have<00:14:01.390> turned<00:14:01.550> their<00:14:01.695> webs—<00:14:02.080> websites<00:14:02.433> into<00:14:02.593> these<00:14:02.818> like<00:14:03.139> living,<00:14:03.621> breathing,<00:14:04.103> dynamic<00:14:04.665> beings<00:14:05.162> that<00:14:05.259> are<00:14:06.302> highly<00:14:06.688> personalized<00:14:07.491> to<00:14:07.731> the<00:14:07.812> people<00:14:08.053> who<00:14:08.133> are<00:14:08.277> coming<00:14:08.518> to<00:14:08.679> them.

00:14:09.562 --> 00:14:19.694
And<00:14:09.835> so<00:14:09.979> the<00:14:10.060> power<00:14:10.381> that<00:14:10.541> comes<00:14:10.846> with<00:14:10.943> the<00:14:11.023> ability<00:14:11.585> to<00:14:11.730> have<00:14:11.922> different<00:14:12.211> experiences<00:14:12.773> for<00:14:12.870> different<00:14:13.191> people<00:14:13.512> across<00:14:13.913> different<00:14:14.218> periods<00:14:14.411> of<00:14:14.555> time<00:14:16.225> means<00:14:16.547> that<00:14:16.707> that<00:14:16.868> website<00:14:17.349> can't<00:14:17.670> be<00:14:17.703> something<00:14:17.959> that<00:14:18.072> you<00:14:18.152> just<00:14:18.265> publish<00:14:18.810> and<00:14:18.955> like<00:14:19.051> set<00:14:19.292> it<00:14:19.356> and<00:14:19.453> forget<00:14:19.661> it.

00:14:20.480 --> 00:14:22.471
It<00:14:20.657> needs<00:14:20.962> like<00:14:21.123> constant<00:14:21.861> iteration.

00:14:22.985 --> 00:14:27.465
And<00:14:23.130> what<00:14:23.226> we<00:14:23.387> realize<00:14:23.804> is<00:14:24.109> that<00:14:24.414> what<00:14:24.591> feeds<00:14:24.976> that<00:14:25.153> iteration<00:14:25.940> is<00:14:26.116> getting<00:14:26.357> regular<00:14:26.823> analytics.

00:14:28.026 --> 00:14:33.810
And<00:14:28.282> being<00:14:28.523> able<00:14:28.635> to<00:14:28.763> build<00:14:29.003> personalized<00:14:29.821> experiences<00:14:30.910> by<00:14:31.327> the<00:14:31.471> different<00:14:31.743> sort<00:14:31.904> of<00:14:32.048> cohorts<00:14:32.464> of<00:14:32.593> users<00:14:32.849> that<00:14:32.945> are<00:14:33.153> coming<00:14:33.330> to<00:14:33.394> your<00:14:33.506> site.

00:14:34.291 --> 00:14:39.114
And<00:14:34.435> understanding<00:14:34.836> that<00:14:34.996> data<00:14:35.188> system,<00:14:35.557> when<00:14:35.669> someone<00:14:35.973> lands,<00:14:36.374> they<00:14:36.518> get<00:14:36.999> special<00:14:37.319> experiences<00:14:38.217> carved<00:14:38.537> out<00:14:38.697> for<00:14:38.810> them.

00:14:39.579 --> 00:14:52.317
And<00:14:39.659> so<00:14:40.476> our<00:14:40.684> analytics<00:14:41.165> product,<00:14:41.662> our<00:14:41.902> Google,<00:14:42.367> or<00:14:42.527> Webflow,<00:14:43.504> sorry,<00:14:43.809> Webflow<00:14:44.225> Analyze<00:14:45.731> is<00:14:45.828> about<00:14:46.148> being<00:14:46.388> able<00:14:46.549> to<00:14:46.629> understand<00:14:48.295> where<00:14:48.551> are<00:14:48.632> people<00:14:48.872> coming<00:14:49.176> from,<00:14:49.657> what<00:14:49.817> are<00:14:49.913> they<00:14:50.154> doing,<00:14:50.618> how<00:14:50.859> are<00:14:50.955> they<00:14:51.035> traversing<00:14:51.916> the<00:14:51.980> website?

00:14:52.958 --> 00:15:00.865
And<00:14:53.038> then<00:14:53.358> Webflow<00:14:53.743> Optimize<00:14:54.400> is<00:14:54.480> about<00:14:54.704> understanding<00:14:55.923> you<00:14:56.179> know,<00:14:56.468> as<00:14:56.645> we<00:14:56.805> create<00:14:57.110> different<00:14:57.351> experiences,<00:14:57.912> how<00:14:58.008> do<00:14:58.089> we<00:14:58.233> maximize<00:14:58.731> the<00:14:58.875> throughput<00:14:59.437> based<00:14:59.613> off<00:14:59.757> the<00:14:59.854> goals<00:15:00.094> that<00:15:00.175> we've<00:15:00.479> intended?

00:15:00.977 --> 00:15:03.689
So<00:15:01.137> is<00:15:01.282> it<00:15:01.779> a<00:15:01.795> signup,<00:15:02.501> a<00:15:02.581> click-through,<00:15:03.287> a<00:15:03.368> conversion?

00:15:03.769 --> 00:15:07.925
Like<00:15:04.250> whatever<00:15:04.587> it<00:15:04.732> is,<00:15:04.988> we<00:15:05.069> can<00:15:05.165> start<00:15:05.293> to<00:15:05.389> create<00:15:05.614> these<00:15:05.710> experiences<00:15:06.416> and<00:15:06.513> cater<00:15:06.834> them<00:15:06.994> to<00:15:07.395> individuals.

00:15:08.021 --> 00:15:11.711
These<00:15:08.903> two<00:15:09.080> products<00:15:09.561> are<00:15:09.626> seamlessly<00:15:10.364> integrated<00:15:10.909> into<00:15:11.086> the<00:15:11.166> web<00:15:11.407> builder.

00:15:11.808 --> 00:15:23.489
So<00:15:11.888> instead<00:15:12.273> of,<00:15:13.011> you<00:15:13.091> know,<00:15:13.252> right<00:15:13.412> now<00:15:13.653> today,<00:15:13.894> people<00:15:14.038> will<00:15:14.134> go<00:15:14.231> to<00:15:14.375> a<00:15:14.439> website<00:15:14.760> builder,<00:15:15.017> then<00:15:15.097> they<00:15:15.258> jump<00:15:15.482> to<00:15:15.579> another<00:15:15.899> analytics<00:15:16.638> solution<00:15:17.167> and<00:15:17.247> then<00:15:17.408> jump<00:15:17.584> to<00:15:17.664> another<00:15:17.985> personalization<00:15:18.691> solution<00:15:19.093> and<00:15:19.574> they'd<00:15:19.815> have<00:15:19.927> to<00:15:20.168> hop<00:15:20.392> back<00:15:20.633> and<00:15:20.777> forth<00:15:21.050> and<00:15:21.130> try<00:15:21.339> and<00:15:21.515> marry<00:15:21.820> all<00:15:21.981> this<00:15:22.157> data<00:15:22.398> and<00:15:22.558> create<00:15:22.799> an<00:15:22.863> experience.

00:15:23.949 --> 00:15:26.101
It's<00:15:24.193> all<00:15:24.634> seamlessly<00:15:25.106> integrated<00:15:25.595> into<00:15:25.758> Webflow.

00:15:26.182 --> 00:15:28.905
So<00:15:26.345> as<00:15:26.476> you<00:15:26.574> design,<00:15:27.128> you<00:15:27.209> can<00:15:27.324> see<00:15:27.552> analytics<00:15:28.057> side<00:15:28.530> by<00:15:28.628> side.

00:15:29.723 --> 00:15:35.304
You<00:15:29.756> can,<00:15:29.853> you<00:15:29.885> can<00:15:29.999> create<00:15:30.210> multiple<00:15:30.518> designs<00:15:30.875> and<00:15:31.005> call<00:15:31.183> them<00:15:31.329> different<00:15:31.572> experiences<00:15:32.237> and<00:15:32.384> then<00:15:32.951> load<00:15:33.130> them<00:15:33.276> in<00:15:33.373> to<00:15:33.519> optimize<00:15:34.103> and<00:15:34.168> make<00:15:34.249> sure<00:15:34.428> that<00:15:34.573> they're<00:15:34.671> hitting<00:15:34.898> the<00:15:34.979> right<00:15:35.076> cohorts.

00:15:35.810 --> 00:15:43.232
But<00:15:37.117> this,<00:15:37.213> these<00:15:37.455> seamlessly<00:15:38.101> integrated<00:15:38.569> products<00:15:39.134> are<00:15:39.166> what<00:15:39.295> allow<00:15:39.553> us<00:15:39.698> to<00:15:39.795> go<00:15:39.941> from<00:15:40.037> being<00:15:40.199> a<00:15:40.279> website<00:15:40.667> builder<00:15:41.522> to<00:15:41.570> being<00:15:41.796> a<00:15:41.812> website<00:15:42.200> experience<00:15:42.781> platform.

00:15:43.329 --> 00:15:46.937
And<00:15:43.507> it's<00:15:43.733> fundamentally<00:15:44.152> changed<00:15:44.539> the<00:15:44.620> way<00:15:44.717> that<00:15:44.878> people<00:15:45.120> should<00:15:45.250> be<00:15:45.525> building<00:15:45.996> and<00:15:46.174> iterating<00:15:46.515> on<00:15:46.596> the<00:15:46.807> web.

00:15:48.608 --> 00:15:50.653
So,<00:15:49.079> um,<00:15:49.962> What<00:15:50.043> do<00:15:50.123> you<00:15:50.348> read?

00:15:51.022 --> 00:15:56.848
I'm<00:15:51.423> super—<00:15:51.792> I<00:15:51.824> mean,<00:15:51.969> I'm<00:15:52.145> seeing<00:15:52.434> these<00:15:52.675> books<00:15:53.156> behind<00:15:53.558> you<00:15:53.814> and<00:15:53.895> they're,<00:15:54.135> by<00:15:54.216> the<00:15:54.360> way,<00:15:54.408> they're<00:15:54.537> perfectly<00:15:55.002> color-coded<00:15:56.142> and<00:15:56.238> incredible.

00:15:57.490 --> 00:15:59.336
I<00:15:57.907> imagine<00:15:58.854> you<00:15:58.951> read<00:15:59.127> a<00:15:59.143> lot.

00:16:03.108 --> 00:16:04.681
I<00:16:03.204> read—<00:16:03.766> so<00:16:03.830> I<00:16:03.910> read<00:16:04.167> everything.

00:16:05.034 --> 00:16:06.318
I'm<00:16:05.756> all<00:16:05.852> over<00:16:06.013> the<00:16:06.077> place.

00:16:07.457 --> 00:16:11.277
Everything<00:16:07.923> from<00:16:08.661> a<00:16:08.806> lot<00:16:08.982> of<00:16:09.014> sci-fi,<00:16:09.624> like<00:16:09.865> big<00:16:10.186> Orson<00:16:10.491> Scott<00:16:10.748> Card<00:16:10.988> fan.

But<00:16:26.134> I<00:16:26.150> would<00:16:26.311> say<00:16:26.551> probably<00:16:27.578> if<00:16:27.658> I<00:16:27.690> were<00:16:27.818> to<00:16:27.850> make<00:16:28.011> a<00:16:28.075> recommendation<00:16:28.716> to<00:16:29.358> this<00:16:29.599> group,<00:16:29.903> probably<00:16:31.523> the<00:16:31.619> most<00:16:32.004> impactful<00:16:32.646> book<00:16:33.111> on<00:16:33.191> the<00:16:33.271> shelf<00:16:33.849> is<00:16:34.250> by<00:16:34.570> this<00:16:34.731> woman,<00:16:35.116> Annie<00:16:35.356> Duke.

She<00:16:36.559> was<00:16:36.655> a<00:16:36.720> professional<00:16:37.137> poker<00:16:37.441> player<00:16:37.858> turned<00:16:38.420> VC<00:16:38.821> now,<00:16:39.061> actually.

00:16:40.408 --> 00:16:46.327
But<00:16:40.505> this<00:16:40.665> book<00:16:40.809> called<00:16:41.066> Thinking<00:16:41.323> in<00:16:41.467> Bets,<00:16:42.189> it<00:16:42.333> is<00:16:43.857> the<00:16:43.953> perfect<00:16:44.418> articulation<00:16:45.076> to<00:16:45.156> how<00:16:45.316> I<00:16:45.396> think<00:16:45.541> about<00:16:45.669> decision-making.

00:16:46.744 --> 00:16:57.927
And<00:16:47.000> she<00:16:47.177> just,<00:16:48.236> I<00:16:48.300> would<00:16:48.462> take<00:16:48.784> every<00:16:49.042> single<00:16:49.349> quote<00:16:49.591> from<00:16:49.752> that<00:16:49.929> book<00:16:50.171> and<00:16:50.252> just<00:16:50.413> like<00:16:50.655> regurgitate<00:16:51.301> it<00:16:51.381> to<00:16:51.446> you<00:16:51.704> as<00:16:51.930> what<00:16:52.026> I<00:16:52.188> think<00:16:52.333> of<00:16:52.430> as<00:16:52.575> like<00:16:52.736> the<00:16:52.914> best<00:16:53.333> set<00:16:53.559> of<00:16:53.704> leadership<00:16:54.027> lessons<00:16:54.349> you<00:16:54.446> can<00:16:54.607> learn<00:16:55.656> in<00:16:55.737> how<00:16:55.962> you<00:16:56.632> do<00:16:56.715> effective<00:16:57.213> decision-making.

00:16:59.910 --> 00:17:05.299
Yeah,<00:17:00.088> that<00:17:00.411> actually<00:17:00.735> is<00:17:00.848> a<00:17:00.978> great<00:17:01.317> book,<00:17:02.531> Thinking<00:17:02.855> in<00:17:02.936> Bets,<00:17:03.567> and<00:17:03.729> she's<00:17:04.311> incredible<00:17:04.943> as<00:17:05.040> well.

00:17:06.415 --> 00:17:13.187
Can<00:17:06.529> you<00:17:06.658> give<00:17:06.820> us<00:17:06.982> a<00:17:06.998> sense<00:17:07.386> for<00:17:07.532> like<00:17:07.710> the<00:17:07.807> size<00:17:08.276> of<00:17:08.357> the<00:17:08.438> company<00:17:08.908> and<00:17:08.989> how<00:17:09.102> fast—<00:17:09.475> I<00:17:09.508> mean,<00:17:09.718> my<00:17:09.897> sense<00:17:10.302> like<00:17:10.561> as<00:17:10.691> an<00:17:10.772> outsider<00:17:11.194> here<00:17:11.356> is<00:17:11.518> this<00:17:11.680> is<00:17:11.842> a<00:17:12.555> rocket<00:17:12.960> ship.

00:17:13.391 --> 00:17:14.017
Taking<00:17:13.856> off.

00:17:14.997 --> 00:17:18.707
Give<00:17:15.157> us<00:17:15.254> a<00:17:15.334> sense<00:17:15.623> for<00:17:16.025> how<00:17:16.201> it's<00:17:16.362> grown<00:17:16.667> even<00:17:16.924> since<00:17:17.727> you've<00:17:17.888> become<00:17:18.193> CEO.

00:17:20.120 --> 00:17:22.080
Yeah,<00:17:20.377> so<00:17:20.618> the<00:17:20.763> company<00:17:21.084> has<00:17:21.245> been<00:17:21.325> growing<00:17:21.582> fast.

00:17:22.208 --> 00:17:27.027
We<00:17:22.546> are,<00:17:23.172> we're<00:17:24.473> about<00:17:24.794> 700<00:17:26.240> or<00:17:26.336> so<00:17:26.641> people.

00:17:28.247 --> 00:17:33.355
You<00:17:28.328> know,<00:17:28.488> I<00:17:28.649> think<00:17:29.034> ever<00:17:29.147> since<00:17:29.388> I<00:17:29.452> stepped<00:17:29.629> in<00:17:29.693> the<00:17:29.773> role,<00:17:29.934> we've<00:17:30.078> probably<00:17:30.560> hired<00:17:31.122> like<00:17:32.407> 70<00:17:32.664> to<00:17:32.809> 100<00:17:33.130> people.

00:17:33.403 --> 00:17:40.534
So<00:17:33.483> it's<00:17:33.564> been<00:17:33.708> growing<00:17:34.029> really<00:17:34.270> quickly<00:17:34.656> from<00:17:34.832> an<00:17:35.314> employee<00:17:35.716> count<00:17:35.973> size,<00:17:36.920> you<00:17:37.001> know,<00:17:37.145> revenue,<00:17:37.547> we're<00:17:37.707> growing<00:17:39.330> in<00:17:39.426> a<00:17:39.635> really<00:17:39.956> healthy<00:17:40.277> way.

00:17:40.855 --> 00:17:44.638
We<00:17:40.936> don't<00:17:41.096> share<00:17:41.257> those<00:17:41.434> numbers,<00:17:41.803> but<00:17:42.370> really<00:17:42.699> healthy<00:17:43.028> growth<00:17:43.685> on<00:17:44.129> a<00:17:44.260> base.

00:17:44.917 --> 00:17:54.647
A<00:17:45.016> little<00:17:45.147> over,<00:17:47.458> a<00:17:47.780> little<00:17:47.942> over<00:17:48.119> a<00:17:48.280> year<00:17:48.522> ago,<00:17:49.086> we<00:17:49.247> announced<00:17:49.650> that<00:17:49.811> we<00:17:49.892> had<00:17:50.214> crossed,<00:17:50.924> you<00:17:51.004> know,<00:17:51.729> a<00:17:51.907> couple<00:17:53.180> hundred<00:17:53.454> million<00:17:54.083> in<00:17:54.244> ARR.

00:17:55.276 --> 00:17:58.244
And<00:17:55.533> we<00:17:55.630> had<00:17:55.840> also<00:17:56.017> shared<00:17:56.420> that<00:17:56.565> we<00:17:56.742> crossed<00:17:57.049> 300,000<00:17:57.969> customers.

00:17:58.357 --> 00:18:08.534
So<00:17:58.518> there<00:17:58.679> is<00:17:58.841> a<00:17:59.648> really<00:17:59.906> nice<00:18:00.536> foundation<00:18:01.827> that<00:18:01.972> we've<00:18:02.134> been<00:18:02.311> building<00:18:03.344> in<00:18:03.603> terms<00:18:04.006> of<00:18:04.248> reach<00:18:04.878> and<00:18:05.459> revenue<00:18:05.782> scale<00:18:06.601> that<00:18:07.175> has<00:18:07.338> been<00:18:07.666> wildly<00:18:08.076> exciting.

00:18:08.649 --> 00:18:17.570
And<00:18:08.813> now<00:18:09.586> as<00:18:09.667> we<00:18:09.763> go<00:18:09.908> from<00:18:10.005> being<00:18:10.230> a<00:18:10.246> single<00:18:10.568> product<00:18:10.890> company<00:18:11.308> to<00:18:11.389> now<00:18:11.679> a<00:18:11.695> multi-product<00:18:12.258> company,<00:18:13.288> as<00:18:13.626> well<00:18:13.868> as<00:18:14.351> we've<00:18:14.608> brought<00:18:14.817> in<00:18:14.898> some<00:18:15.075> really<00:18:15.220> incredible<00:18:15.638> leadership<00:18:16.025> over<00:18:16.137> the<00:18:16.266> past<00:18:16.749> year,<00:18:17.071> year<00:18:17.167> and<00:18:17.232> a<00:18:17.248> half.

00:18:18.660 --> 00:18:20.318
I'm<00:18:18.869> pretty<00:18:19.191> excited<00:18:19.594> to<00:18:19.674> see<00:18:19.851> where<00:18:20.012> we<00:18:20.093> go.

00:18:20.801 --> 00:18:22.959
We've<00:18:21.606> got<00:18:21.945> a<00:18:22.090> really<00:18:22.347> bright<00:18:22.589> future.

00:18:24.521 --> 00:18:26.872
How<00:18:24.601> do<00:18:24.666> you<00:18:24.843> think<00:18:25.020> about<00:18:25.181> leadership<00:18:25.809> now<00:18:26.051> that<00:18:26.131> you're<00:18:26.453> CEO?

00:18:27.097 --> 00:18:35.505
Like,<00:18:27.339> how<00:18:27.435> have<00:18:27.661> you<00:18:27.838> thought<00:18:28.227> about<00:18:28.616> that<00:18:28.957> previously<00:18:29.929> and<00:18:30.075> what<00:18:30.334> changed<00:18:30.983> or<00:18:31.145> what<00:18:31.631> was<00:18:31.858> unexpected<00:18:32.425> for<00:18:32.587> you<00:18:33.333> and<00:18:33.414> like<00:18:33.576> what<00:18:33.722> it<00:18:33.803> means<00:18:34.046> to<00:18:34.127> be<00:18:34.224> a<00:18:34.240> leader<00:18:34.532> now<00:18:34.629> that<00:18:34.840> you've<00:18:34.954> taken<00:18:35.262> this<00:18:35.424> role?

00:18:36.700 --> 00:18:46.086
Gosh,<00:18:37.135> I<00:18:37.216> think<00:18:38.264> leadership<00:18:38.667> is<00:18:38.699> something<00:18:39.312> for<00:18:39.473> me<00:18:40.038> that<00:18:40.199> has—<00:18:41.473> I<00:18:41.489> think<00:18:41.715> good<00:18:41.892> leadership,<00:18:42.360> rather,<00:18:42.924> is<00:18:43.134> something<00:18:43.811> that<00:18:43.908> has<00:18:44.134> changed<00:18:44.795> over<00:18:45.037> the<00:18:45.117> entirety<00:18:45.504> of<00:18:45.585> my<00:18:45.650> career.

00:18:46.652 --> 00:18:59.688
I<00:18:46.733> think<00:18:46.878> I<00:18:46.959> had<00:18:47.121> ideas<00:18:47.961> of<00:18:48.188> what<00:18:48.834> made<00:18:49.093> a<00:18:49.158> good<00:18:49.465> leader<00:18:50.516> and<00:18:52.052> what<00:18:52.213> I<00:18:52.310> thought<00:18:52.553> I<00:18:52.634> needed<00:18:52.892> to<00:18:52.957> be<00:18:53.361> as<00:18:53.523> a<00:18:53.604> leader<00:18:54.105> to<00:18:54.978> what<00:18:55.139> I<00:18:55.285> look<00:18:55.350> for<00:18:55.480> nowadays<00:18:56.103> when<00:18:56.266> I<00:18:56.446> like<00:18:56.692> hire<00:18:57.085> leaders<00:18:57.674> or<00:18:57.903> even<00:18:58.493> what<00:18:58.640> I<00:18:58.656> try<00:18:58.836> to<00:18:58.918> model<00:18:59.295> myself.

00:19:01.410 --> 00:19:02.750
You<00:19:01.509> know,<00:19:01.691> and<00:19:01.840> I'll<00:19:02.005> give<00:19:02.121> you<00:19:02.171> an<00:19:02.254> example.

00:19:02.833 --> 00:19:05.746
I<00:19:02.916> think<00:19:03.098> back<00:19:03.329> in<00:19:03.363> the<00:19:03.445> day,<00:19:04.092> I<00:19:04.140> used<00:19:04.204> to<00:19:04.333> think<00:19:04.493> leaders<00:19:04.879> were<00:19:04.959> just<00:19:05.457> the<00:19:05.602> best.

00:19:06.003 --> 00:19:07.385
They<00:19:06.084> were<00:19:06.164> the<00:19:06.341> experts<00:19:06.678> at<00:19:06.807> what<00:19:06.903> they<00:19:07.048> did.

00:19:08.574 --> 00:19:09.570
They<00:19:08.670> made<00:19:08.831> decisions.

00:19:09.634 --> 00:19:13.329
They<00:19:09.715> sort<00:19:09.940> of<00:19:10.020> like,<00:19:10.823> they<00:19:10.903> were<00:19:11.000> just<00:19:11.241> like<00:19:12.269> the<00:19:12.349> most<00:19:12.606> qualified.

00:19:13.554 --> 00:19:15.900
I<00:19:13.651> think<00:19:13.811> I'm<00:19:13.908> a<00:19:14.052> very<00:19:14.374> merit-oriented<00:19:15.257> individual.

00:19:16.526 --> 00:19:21.571
And<00:19:18.310> because<00:19:18.711> they<00:19:18.856> were<00:19:18.952> such<00:19:19.258> experts,<00:19:19.916> they<00:19:20.077> sort<00:19:20.302> of<00:19:20.382> just,<00:19:20.559> they<00:19:20.655> knew<00:19:21.025> everything.

00:19:21.667 --> 00:19:25.668
There's<00:19:21.908> some<00:19:22.166> magical<00:19:23.451> level<00:19:23.852> of<00:19:24.013> expertise<00:19:24.640> reached<00:19:24.881> to<00:19:24.977> become<00:19:25.234> a<00:19:25.379> leader.

00:19:26.343 --> 00:19:50.398
And<00:19:26.455> nowadays<00:19:26.825> I<00:19:26.905> realize<00:19:27.226> that<00:19:27.371> that<00:19:27.531> is<00:19:27.628> totally<00:19:28.094> false,<00:19:28.511> or<00:19:29.058> maybe<00:19:29.234> I'm<00:19:29.395> just<00:19:29.716> a<00:19:29.732> terrible<00:19:30.118> leader,<00:19:30.423> but<00:19:30.536> it's<00:19:30.680> just,<00:19:31.242> I<00:19:31.323> think<00:19:31.483> good<00:19:31.644> leadership<00:19:32.045> nowadays<00:19:32.688> is<00:19:32.784> about<00:19:33.474> curiosity,<00:19:34.935> is<00:19:35.032> about<00:19:35.353> surrounding<00:19:36.043> yourself<00:19:36.381> with<00:19:36.525> people<00:19:37.007> who<00:19:37.344> are<00:19:37.505> curious,<00:19:38.131> who<00:19:38.227> can<00:19:38.388> collaborate,<00:19:39.672> who,<00:19:40.218> who<00:19:40.314> are<00:19:40.379> aligned<00:19:40.780> on<00:19:40.876> problems<00:19:42.145> and<00:19:42.482> look<00:19:42.643> to<00:19:42.787> get<00:19:43.445> as<00:19:43.590> much<00:19:43.767> information<00:19:44.264> as<00:19:44.393> they<00:19:44.489> can,<00:19:44.971> but<00:19:45.131> ultimately<00:19:45.533> make<00:19:45.774> reasonable<00:19:46.175> decisions<00:19:47.219> that<00:19:47.379> move<00:19:47.556> a<00:19:47.620> business<00:19:48.006> forward<00:19:48.824> because<00:19:49.049> they're<00:19:49.130> moving<00:19:49.451> in<00:19:49.483> an<00:19:49.563> aligned<00:19:49.948> fashion.

00:19:50.976 --> 00:19:56.178
And<00:19:52.261> to<00:19:52.421> me,<00:19:52.582> it's<00:19:52.742> about<00:19:53.063> being<00:19:53.320> decisive<00:19:53.802> and<00:19:53.963> owning<00:19:54.589> the<00:19:54.669> results<00:19:55.006> of<00:19:55.070> your<00:19:55.231> decisions,<00:19:55.649> good<00:19:55.809> or<00:19:55.889> bad.

00:19:57.094 --> 00:20:02.765
It's<00:19:57.239> about<00:19:57.897> constantly<00:19:58.684> challenging<00:19:59.729> yourself<00:20:00.050> and<00:20:00.130> being<00:20:00.307> open<00:20:00.548> to<00:20:00.661> learning<00:20:01.030> because<00:20:01.737> things<00:20:01.930> are<00:20:01.994> constantly<00:20:02.315> changing.

00:20:03.102 --> 00:20:04.115
You'll<00:20:03.311> never<00:20:03.456> know<00:20:03.617> everything.

00:20:04.789 --> 00:20:07.745
And<00:20:05.512> then<00:20:05.673> I<00:20:05.689> think<00:20:05.914> frankly,<00:20:06.316> it's<00:20:06.428> about<00:20:06.894> being<00:20:07.071> able<00:20:07.215> to<00:20:07.296> influence.

00:20:08.565 --> 00:20:16.437
And,<00:20:08.886> you<00:20:08.918> know,<00:20:08.999> I<00:20:09.127> think<00:20:09.304> the<00:20:09.448> biggest<00:20:09.641> difference<00:20:09.946> between<00:20:10.252> where<00:20:10.348> I<00:20:10.428> started<00:20:10.846> and<00:20:10.975> where<00:20:11.071> I<00:20:11.232> am<00:20:11.392> now,<00:20:11.955> I<00:20:12.019> used<00:20:12.260> to<00:20:12.356> think<00:20:12.517> about<00:20:12.822> leadership<00:20:13.304> as<00:20:14.204> just<00:20:14.365> being<00:20:14.541> at<00:20:14.606> the<00:20:14.702> top<00:20:15.409> and<00:20:15.489> telling<00:20:15.810> people<00:20:16.035> what<00:20:16.132> to<00:20:16.276> do.

00:20:17.401 --> 00:20:23.056
And<00:20:17.883> I<00:20:17.979> think<00:20:18.285> there's<00:20:18.526> always,<00:20:19.104> you<00:20:19.168> know,<00:20:19.586> I<00:20:19.650> like<00:20:19.747> to<00:20:19.891> break<00:20:20.068> things<00:20:20.309> down<00:20:20.630> into<00:20:20.791> binary<00:20:21.192> models<00:20:21.498> because<00:20:21.690> it's<00:20:21.915> easiest<00:20:22.221> for<00:20:22.301> my<00:20:22.413> simple<00:20:22.735> mind.

00:20:24.003 --> 00:20:25.976
I<00:20:24.083> think<00:20:24.228> a<00:20:24.308> lot<00:20:24.404> of<00:20:24.468> people<00:20:24.725> think<00:20:24.821> about<00:20:25.030> leadership<00:20:25.383> as<00:20:25.527> authority.

00:20:26.249 --> 00:20:27.549
It's<00:20:26.410> having<00:20:26.714> authority<00:20:27.212> over<00:20:27.372> people.

00:20:27.597 --> 00:20:30.404
They<00:20:27.677> always<00:20:27.854> say,<00:20:27.998> oh,<00:20:28.174> if<00:20:28.319> they,<00:20:28.576> this<00:20:28.720> person<00:20:28.896> reported<00:20:29.314> to<00:20:29.394> me,<00:20:29.602> I<00:20:29.699> could<00:20:29.859> make<00:20:30.019> this<00:20:30.164> decision.

00:20:30.485 --> 00:20:33.758
And<00:20:31.367> I<00:20:31.383> think<00:20:31.624> good<00:20:31.848> leadership<00:20:32.201> is<00:20:32.330> when<00:20:32.426> you<00:20:32.506> don't<00:20:32.747> need<00:20:32.827> to<00:20:32.987> lead<00:20:33.148> with<00:20:33.308> authority.

00:20:34.191 --> 00:20:45.951
I<00:20:34.255> think<00:20:34.367> it's<00:20:34.496> actually<00:20:34.816> leading<00:20:34.993> with<00:20:35.153> influence<00:20:36.421> and<00:20:36.758> the<00:20:36.838> ability<00:20:37.399> to<00:20:37.544> inspire<00:20:38.121> many<00:20:38.522> people<00:20:39.581> against<00:20:39.822> a<00:20:39.950> common<00:20:40.351> goal<00:20:40.769> and<00:20:40.849> to<00:20:40.993> execute<00:20:41.330> together<00:20:42.309> is<00:20:42.517> what<00:20:42.758> actually<00:20:43.721> amplifies<00:20:44.555> someone's<00:20:44.940> leadership.

00:20:46.239 --> 00:20:49.031
The<00:20:46.320> more<00:20:46.544> people<00:20:46.785> you<00:20:46.945> can<00:20:47.009> inspire,<00:20:47.491> the<00:20:47.539> more<00:20:47.683> effective<00:20:48.036> and<00:20:48.084> impactful<00:20:48.614> you<00:20:48.694> can<00:20:48.790> be.

00:20:49.577 --> 00:20:55.067
Because<00:20:49.753> once<00:20:49.898> you're<00:20:49.978> in<00:20:50.058> a<00:20:50.074> leadership<00:20:50.395> position,<00:20:50.877> you're<00:20:50.973> no<00:20:51.198> longer<00:20:51.744> rolling<00:20:52.001> up<00:20:52.081> your<00:20:52.161> sleeves,<00:20:52.482> you're<00:20:52.595> no<00:20:52.804> longer<00:20:53.205> doing<00:20:54.168> all<00:20:54.264> the<00:20:54.409> work,<00:20:54.891> right?

00:20:55.115 --> 00:21:02.324
You're<00:20:55.212> really<00:20:55.388> inspiring<00:20:56.962> a<00:20:56.994> scaled<00:20:57.475> organization<00:20:58.101> to<00:20:58.326> do<00:20:58.503> work<00:20:58.744> together<00:20:59.466> and<00:20:59.546> to<00:20:59.707> execute<00:21:00.108> something<00:21:00.509> and<00:21:00.654> create<00:21:01.007> something<00:21:01.392> bigger<00:21:01.633> than<00:21:01.778> themselves.

00:21:02.902 --> 00:21:06.979
And<00:21:03.223> the<00:21:03.319> only<00:21:03.560> way<00:21:03.640> to<00:21:03.720> really<00:21:03.961> do<00:21:04.106> that<00:21:04.282> in<00:21:04.378> a<00:21:04.427> leadership<00:21:04.764> position<00:21:05.181> is,<00:21:05.422> is<00:21:05.550> to<00:21:05.631> inspire<00:21:05.952> and<00:21:06.048> influence<00:21:06.690> others.

00:21:08.280 --> 00:21:14.701
What<00:21:08.392> are<00:21:08.456> some<00:21:08.761> products,<00:21:09.500> tools,<00:21:10.286> apps<00:21:11.025> that<00:21:11.169> you<00:21:11.330> use<00:21:11.571> every<00:21:11.812> day<00:21:11.972> or<00:21:12.229> you<00:21:12.389> just<00:21:12.614> like<00:21:12.791> couldn't<00:21:13.192> live<00:21:13.417> without?

00:21:15.424 --> 00:21:16.936
I'm<00:21:16.147> So<00:21:16.549> old<00:21:16.662> school.

00:21:17.274 --> 00:21:21.733
I,<00:21:17.676> I<00:21:17.773> actually<00:21:18.014> tried<00:21:20.027> leveraging<00:21:20.510> all<00:21:20.671> these<00:21:20.783> different<00:21:21.073> products,<00:21:21.331> tools,<00:21:21.540> and<00:21:21.621> apps.

00:21:21.798 --> 00:21:27.252
Like,<00:21:22.104> I<00:21:22.200> have<00:21:22.426> a<00:21:22.442> Stream<00:21:22.925> Deck<00:21:23.488> to<00:21:23.633> like<00:21:23.730> create<00:21:24.277> all<00:21:24.374> these<00:21:24.615> macros<00:21:25.259> to<00:21:25.485> open<00:21:25.662> things<00:21:25.922> and<00:21:26.003> like<00:21:26.214> make<00:21:26.376> me<00:21:26.457> more<00:21:26.554> efficient.

00:21:27.431 --> 00:21:29.021
I<00:21:27.528> was<00:21:27.674> using<00:21:27.934> different<00:21:28.112> note-taking<00:21:28.729> apps.

00:21:29.150 --> 00:21:31.065
I<00:21:29.215> was<00:21:29.378> like<00:21:29.864> using<00:21:30.270> AI<00:21:30.465> note-taking.

00:21:31.750 --> 00:21:35.605
I<00:21:31.766> was<00:21:31.927> like,<00:21:32.330> you<00:21:32.411> know,<00:21:32.572> created<00:21:32.911> a<00:21:32.976> whole<00:21:33.137> system<00:21:33.556> for<00:21:33.718> docs<00:21:34.121> and<00:21:34.266> how<00:21:34.347> I<00:21:34.444> want<00:21:34.589> to<00:21:34.621> manage<00:21:35.024> information.

00:21:36.541 --> 00:21:53.699
And<00:21:36.621> I<00:21:36.767> realized<00:21:37.267> I<00:21:37.331> tried<00:21:37.589> those<00:21:37.815> things<00:21:38.299> and<00:21:38.396> then<00:21:38.622> I<00:21:39.428> sort<00:21:39.606> of<00:21:39.687> grew<00:21:39.993> out<00:21:40.171> of<00:21:40.251> them<00:21:40.719> because<00:21:40.961> they<00:21:41.380> took<00:21:42.088> so<00:21:42.249> much<00:21:42.489> mental<00:21:42.938> load<00:21:43.355> to<00:21:43.435> incorporate<00:21:43.981> new<00:21:44.157> systems<00:21:45.023> and,<00:21:45.680> and<00:21:45.985> like<00:21:46.402> sort<00:21:46.546> of<00:21:46.643> processes<00:21:47.140> into<00:21:47.332> my<00:21:47.589> life<00:21:48.391> that<00:21:48.487> I,<00:21:48.952> I<00:21:48.984> stripped<00:21:49.529> everything<00:21:50.075> out<00:21:50.492> and<00:21:50.572> I<00:21:50.876> actually<00:21:51.133> just<00:21:51.374> do—<00:21:52.480> I<00:21:52.641> literally<00:21:52.961> go<00:21:53.058> down<00:21:53.154> to<00:21:53.298> a<00:21:53.314> notebook.

00:21:54.004 --> 00:21:59.120
So<00:21:54.100> I<00:21:54.180> have<00:21:54.982> notebooks<00:21:56.089> and<00:21:56.505> my<00:21:56.666> trusty<00:21:57.548> like<00:21:57.821> 0.38<00:21:58.911> pen.

00:21:59.312 --> 00:21:59.585
That's<00:21:59.488> it.

00:21:59.793 --> 00:22:04.476
This<00:22:00.018> is<00:22:00.098> like<00:22:00.819> the<00:22:00.932> bane<00:22:01.236> of<00:22:01.333> my<00:22:01.782> existence,<00:22:02.183> but<00:22:02.423> also<00:22:02.600> like<00:22:03.000> the<00:22:03.225> one<00:22:03.482> thing<00:22:03.626> I<00:22:03.722> can't<00:22:03.963> live<00:22:04.043> without.

00:22:05.149 --> 00:22:08.388
Um,<00:22:05.711> I<00:22:05.727> started<00:22:06.048> doing<00:22:06.288> this<00:22:06.497> probably<00:22:06.689> in<00:22:06.769> 20—<00:22:07.780> 17.

00:22:09.318 --> 00:22:19.525
All<00:22:09.478> of<00:22:09.510> my<00:22:09.654> meetings,<00:22:10.375> I,<00:22:11.161> I<00:22:11.177> just<00:22:11.337> take<00:22:11.497> notes<00:22:11.978> and<00:22:12.042> I<00:22:12.138> have<00:22:12.234> a<00:22:12.362> really<00:22:12.555> simple<00:22:12.859> system<00:22:13.821> for<00:22:14.365> what<00:22:14.478> I<00:22:14.606> flag<00:22:14.798> as<00:22:14.878> an<00:22:15.006> action<00:22:15.247> item,<00:22:15.743> an<00:22:15.904> area<00:22:16.064> to<00:22:16.224> do<00:22:16.384> research<00:22:16.769> and<00:22:16.865> follow<00:22:17.170> up,<00:22:17.602> or<00:22:17.730> just<00:22:17.923> a<00:22:17.939> note<00:22:18.291> that<00:22:18.387> I<00:22:18.532> want<00:22:18.612> to<00:22:18.692> call<00:22:18.948> out<00:22:19.028> and<00:22:19.092> remember.

00:22:19.605 --> 00:22:26.832
Uh,<00:22:20.374> I<00:22:21.416> keep<00:22:21.512> my<00:22:21.656> calendar<00:22:22.217> always<00:22:22.393> up<00:22:22.489> to<00:22:22.618> date<00:22:23.114> and<00:22:23.195> I<00:22:23.355> always<00:22:23.611> date<00:22:23.819> things<00:22:24.060> in<00:22:24.092> these<00:22:24.236> notebooks<00:22:24.637> and<00:22:25.101> I,<00:22:25.214> I<00:22:25.518> order<00:22:25.742> them<00:22:26.063> 1<00:22:26.223> through<00:22:26.383> whatever.

00:22:27.825 --> 00:22:33.161
And<00:22:27.922> anytime<00:22:28.242> I<00:22:28.723> look<00:22:28.883> back<00:22:29.188> on<00:22:29.284> a<00:22:29.300> meeting,<00:22:30.245> I<00:22:30.325> can<00:22:30.550> find<00:22:30.806> the<00:22:30.886> right<00:22:31.046> notebook,<00:22:31.591> look<00:22:31.687> to<00:22:31.783> that<00:22:32.008> day<00:22:32.248> and<00:22:32.392> look<00:22:32.504> at<00:22:32.569> my<00:22:32.665> notes<00:22:32.937> from<00:22:33.049> it.

00:22:33.370 --> 00:22:34.235
And<00:22:33.450> it's<00:22:33.562> just<00:22:33.754> that<00:22:33.947> simple.

00:22:34.796 --> 00:22:40.564
But<00:22:34.892> I've<00:22:35.036> realized<00:22:35.469> if<00:22:35.597> I<00:22:35.613> take<00:22:36.030> notes,<00:22:37.199> I'm<00:22:38.481> present<00:22:38.898> in<00:22:38.962> the<00:22:39.042> meeting,<00:22:39.395> I'm<00:22:40.260> focused.

00:22:41.462 --> 00:22:48.752
The<00:22:41.686> things<00:22:41.846> that<00:22:41.926> I<00:22:42.006> write<00:22:42.183> down<00:22:42.519> are<00:22:42.647> the<00:22:42.743> things<00:22:42.904> I<00:22:42.968> want<00:22:43.144> to<00:22:43.208> take<00:22:43.320> away,<00:22:44.826> and<00:22:44.907> my<00:22:45.131> action<00:22:45.387> items<00:22:45.772> are<00:22:45.852> all<00:22:45.948> in<00:22:46.044> one<00:22:46.269> place,<00:22:46.893> and<00:22:47.134> it<00:22:47.310> makes<00:22:47.486> it<00:22:47.615> really<00:22:47.855> easy<00:22:48.015> for<00:22:48.111> me<00:22:48.207> to<00:22:48.271> follow<00:22:48.592> up.

00:22:48.912 --> 00:22:54.841
And<00:22:48.993> so<00:22:49.153> I<00:22:49.233> keep<00:22:49.473> a<00:22:49.553> really<00:22:50.771> simple,<00:22:51.316> low-tech<00:22:52.261> approach<00:22:52.838> to<00:22:52.982> how<00:22:53.239> I<00:22:53.944> operate<00:22:54.360> and<00:22:54.440> execute.

00:22:55.947 --> 00:22:56.459
I<00:22:56.043> love<00:22:56.267> that.

00:22:56.748 --> 00:22:58.991
Yeah,<00:22:57.501> I'm<00:22:58.110> very<00:22:58.366> similar<00:22:58.767> to<00:22:58.847> that.

00:22:59.071 --> 00:23:04.473
I've<00:22:59.167> tried<00:22:59.408> like<00:22:59.712> every<00:23:00.113> app<00:23:00.465> and<00:23:00.754> various<00:23:01.154> things,<00:23:01.411> and<00:23:01.491> then<00:23:01.603> I'm<00:23:01.731> like,<00:23:02.677> Uh,<00:23:02.773> is<00:23:03.014> it<00:23:03.110> as<00:23:03.318> good<00:23:03.495> as<00:23:03.639> just<00:23:03.800> writing<00:23:04.056> it<00:23:04.201> down?

00:23:05.259 --> 00:23:05.564
Yeah.

00:23:06.782 --> 00:23:08.851
And<00:23:06.927> writing,<00:23:07.264> it<00:23:07.328> just<00:23:07.504> creates<00:23:07.681> that<00:23:07.825> memory<00:23:08.386> when<00:23:08.482> you<00:23:08.611> write<00:23:08.723> it.

00:23:09.108 --> 00:23:09.429
Yeah.

00:23:09.974 --> 00:23:11.048
It<00:23:10.134> inks<00:23:10.375> itself<00:23:10.712> into<00:23:11.016> you.

00:23:11.112 --> 00:23:11.257
Yeah.

00:23:11.738 --> 00:23:12.973
You<00:23:11.914> have<00:23:11.994> to<00:23:12.155> think<00:23:12.331> about<00:23:12.492> it<00:23:12.556> more.

00:23:13.181 --> 00:23:17.335
Like<00:23:13.358> there's<00:23:13.582> something<00:23:13.823> about<00:23:14.079> writing<00:23:14.464> it<00:23:14.496> down<00:23:14.945> that<00:23:15.122> like,<00:23:15.442> like<00:23:15.667> you<00:23:15.699> said,<00:23:15.988> like<00:23:16.148> kind<00:23:16.260> of<00:23:16.485> inks<00:23:16.645> it<00:23:16.725> into<00:23:16.870> your<00:23:17.046> brain.

00:23:18.153 --> 00:23:22.451
Hey,<00:23:18.393> uh,<00:23:18.634> like<00:23:19.067> 2024<00:23:19.756> was<00:23:19.917> an<00:23:19.997> interesting<00:23:20.414> time<00:23:20.959> to<00:23:21.376> run<00:23:21.536> a<00:23:21.617> company,<00:23:22.178> right?

00:23:22.579 --> 00:23:23.669
There<00:23:22.675> was<00:23:22.835> a<00:23:22.884> lot<00:23:22.996> of<00:23:23.124> uncertainty.

00:23:24.487 --> 00:23:28.529
Uh,<00:23:24.888> some<00:23:25.161> industries<00:23:25.626> doing<00:23:25.786> really<00:23:26.091> well,<00:23:26.508> some<00:23:27.149> basically<00:23:27.695> in<00:23:27.727> a<00:23:27.791> recession.

00:23:28.593 --> 00:23:31.896
There's<00:23:28.833> an<00:23:28.913> election,<00:23:29.860> not<00:23:30.036> only<00:23:30.277> in<00:23:30.421> the<00:23:30.485> United<00:23:30.758> States,<00:23:31.078> but<00:23:31.239> throughout<00:23:31.479> the<00:23:31.624> world.

00:23:31.944 --> 00:23:34.270
There's<00:23:32.105> about<00:23:32.410> a<00:23:32.910> bunch<00:23:33.130> of<00:23:33.350> those.

00:23:34.270 --> 00:23:37.550
And<00:23:34.271> so<00:23:34.450> there's<00:23:34.570> a<00:23:34.710> lot<00:23:34.830> of<00:23:34.950> uncertainty,<00:23:35.510> you<00:23:35.650> know,<00:23:35.870> going<00:23:36.050> into<00:23:36.310> 2024.

00:23:37.550 --> 00:23:40.340
It<00:23:37.590> does<00:23:37.830> seem<00:23:38.010> like<00:23:38.130> 2025,<00:23:38.690> maybe<00:23:38.910> there's<00:23:39.070> a<00:23:39.190> little<00:23:39.330> bit<00:23:39.570> more<00:23:39.790> certainty.

00:23:41.050 --> 00:23:43.720
No,<00:23:41.330> no,<00:23:41.450> you<00:23:41.451> can't<00:23:41.670> be<00:23:42.010> entirely<00:23:42.370> certain,<00:23:42.870> right?

00:23:43.770 --> 00:23:46.430
But,<00:23:43.790> um,<00:23:44.390> it<00:23:44.391> does<00:23:44.510> seem<00:23:44.650> like<00:23:44.750> there's<00:23:44.910> more<00:23:45.110> certainty<00:23:45.470> going<00:23:45.670> into<00:23:45.890> 2025.

00:23:46.430 --> 00:23:49.630
How<00:23:46.690> are<00:23:46.830> you,<00:23:46.970> how<00:23:47.010> did<00:23:47.130> you<00:23:47.290> think<00:23:47.450> about<00:23:47.610> 2024<00:23:48.250> and<00:23:48.390> how<00:23:48.570> are<00:23:48.710> you<00:23:48.810> thinking<00:23:49.030> about<00:23:49.230> 2025?

00:23:50.710 --> 00:24:01.959
You<00:23:51.450> know,<00:23:51.670> I<00:23:51.790> think<00:23:51.970> it's<00:23:52.290> a,<00:23:53.450> every<00:23:54.890> year<00:23:55.210> now<00:23:55.590> feels,<00:23:56.860> feels<00:23:57.310> like<00:23:57.430> it's<00:23:57.610> going<00:23:57.770> to<00:23:57.930> be<00:23:58.070> intense<00:23:58.570> and<00:23:58.770> have<00:23:59.050> a<00:23:59.310> lot<00:23:59.430> of<00:23:59.550> uncertainty<00:24:00.030> regardless<00:24:01.062> of<00:24:01.142> what<00:24:01.302> it<00:24:01.446> actually<00:24:01.863> is.

00:24:02.023 --> 00:24:14.654
And<00:24:02.087> I<00:24:02.184> think<00:24:02.408> ever<00:24:02.584> since,<00:24:03.690> I<00:24:03.722> don't,<00:24:04.011> maybe<00:24:04.267> this<00:24:04.428> is<00:24:04.572> like<00:24:04.732> my<00:24:04.892> generation<00:24:05.534> of<00:24:06.511> sort<00:24:06.688> of<00:24:06.912> leadership<00:24:07.329> during<00:24:07.537> the<00:24:07.633> pandemic,<00:24:08.419> but<00:24:09.397> I<00:24:09.477> don't<00:24:09.701> think<00:24:09.942> anything<00:24:10.262> can<00:24:10.438> really<00:24:12.025> sort<00:24:12.186> of<00:24:12.362> unseat<00:24:13.147> what<00:24:13.243> happened<00:24:13.804> in<00:24:13.885> 2019.

00:24:15.327 --> 00:24:25.602
And<00:24:15.471> so<00:24:15.552> now<00:24:15.888> every<00:24:16.129> year<00:24:16.289> to<00:24:16.449> me<00:24:16.706> is<00:24:16.834> just,<00:24:17.748> it's<00:24:17.892> a<00:24:18.052> year<00:24:18.277> that<00:24:18.437> we<00:24:18.533> just<00:24:18.757> need<00:24:18.854> to<00:24:18.918> be<00:24:19.078> ready<00:24:19.318> for<00:24:19.479> whatever<00:24:19.751> is<00:24:19.895> gonna<00:24:20.056> come,<00:24:20.697> but<00:24:20.777> have<00:24:21.178> clarity<00:24:21.803> of<00:24:21.899> what<00:24:22.043> we<00:24:22.204> wanna<00:24:22.316> accomplish<00:24:23.101> and<00:24:23.245> then<00:24:23.342> be<00:24:23.502> ready<00:24:23.742> to<00:24:23.903> iterate<00:24:24.303> based<00:24:24.544> off<00:24:24.704> of<00:24:24.784> whatever<00:24:25.105> happens.

00:24:26.211 --> 00:24:35.631
You<00:24:26.259> know,<00:24:26.387> 2024,<00:24:27.253> when<00:24:27.413> I<00:24:27.429> compare<00:24:27.750> it<00:24:27.910> to<00:24:27.974> other<00:24:28.214> years,<00:24:28.471> like,<00:24:29.016> Yeah,<00:24:29.161> there's<00:24:29.337> uncertainty,<00:24:29.835> but<00:24:29.996> honestly,<00:24:30.397> frankly,<00:24:30.863> didn't<00:24:31.103> compare<00:24:31.617> to<00:24:32.565> how<00:24:32.725> significant<00:24:33.528> the<00:24:33.608> pandemic<00:24:34.090> was<00:24:34.491> or<00:24:34.588> the<00:24:34.796> following<00:24:35.198> years<00:24:35.358> from<00:24:35.455> that.

00:24:35.712 --> 00:24:42.696
So<00:24:36.081> even<00:24:36.241> this<00:24:36.418> year,<00:24:36.659> though,<00:24:36.819> there<00:24:36.980> was<00:24:37.140> an<00:24:37.189> election,<00:24:37.622> though<00:24:37.719> there's<00:24:37.943> a<00:24:38.008> lot<00:24:38.200> of<00:24:38.264> change,<00:24:38.762> though<00:24:38.826> there's<00:24:39.308> especially<00:24:39.854> a<00:24:40.015> lot<00:24:40.127> of<00:24:40.191> corporate<00:24:41.797> sort<00:24:41.973> of<00:24:42.038> like<00:24:42.262> moments.

00:24:42.760 --> 00:24:49.632
And<00:24:42.937> even,<00:24:43.242> you<00:24:43.322> know,<00:24:43.402> just<00:24:43.563> a<00:24:43.627> couple<00:24:43.868> weeks<00:24:44.141> ago<00:24:44.366> with,<00:24:45.393> you<00:24:45.425> know,<00:24:45.586> sort<00:24:45.907> of<00:24:46.132> the<00:24:46.196> murder<00:24:46.533> of<00:24:46.614> the<00:24:46.758> UnitedHealthcare<00:24:47.352> CEO,<00:24:47.818> like<00:24:47.978> there's<00:24:48.444> just<00:24:48.605> a<00:24:48.701> lot<00:24:48.861> of<00:24:49.006> things<00:24:49.183> happening.

00:24:50.451 --> 00:24:54.449
And<00:24:51.591> what<00:24:51.735> I<00:24:51.832> found<00:24:52.153> is<00:24:53.020> there<00:24:53.181> will<00:24:53.341> always<00:24:53.582> be<00:24:53.678> a<00:24:53.694> lot<00:24:53.919> of<00:24:53.999> things<00:24:54.224> happening.

00:24:54.610 --> 00:25:06.100
And<00:24:54.790> it's<00:24:54.950> a<00:24:55.050> question<00:24:55.310> of<00:24:55.590> if<00:24:55.750> it's<00:24:55.970> going<00:24:56.230> to<00:24:57.290> disrupt<00:24:57.730> my<00:24:57.930> ability<00:24:58.370> to<00:24:58.669> lead<00:24:59.010> or<00:24:59.270> if<00:24:59.430> I'm<00:24:59.530> just<00:24:59.710> going<00:24:59.930> to<00:25:00.110> absorb<00:25:00.470> that<00:25:00.670> and<00:25:00.850> understand<00:25:01.130> it<00:25:01.370> and<00:25:01.450> figure<00:25:01.610> out<00:25:01.750> whether<00:25:01.870> I<00:25:02.010> need<00:25:02.150> to<00:25:02.310> make<00:25:02.390> changes<00:25:02.750> in<00:25:02.910> our<00:25:03.030> organization<00:25:03.470> to<00:25:03.710> accommodate<00:25:04.070> for<00:25:04.490> what's<00:25:05.050> happening.

00:25:06.390 --> 00:25:12.620
And<00:25:06.410> so<00:25:06.730> I<00:25:06.910> think<00:25:07.090> I<00:25:07.270> look<00:25:07.430> at<00:25:07.530> 2025<00:25:08.010> and<00:25:08.270> so<00:25:08.430> far<00:25:08.630> it<00:25:08.750> looks<00:25:09.030> like<00:25:09.590> there's<00:25:09.790> probably<00:25:10.030> more<00:25:10.210> certainty,<00:25:10.910> but<00:25:10.911> I'm<00:25:11.610> not<00:25:11.710> going<00:25:11.850> to<00:25:11.970> bet<00:25:12.030> on<00:25:12.270> that.

00:25:13.270 --> 00:25:14.170
Yeah.

00:25:14.170 --> 00:25:20.750
If<00:25:14.171> history<00:25:14.172> is,<00:25:14.370> if<00:25:14.870> history<00:25:15.130> is<00:25:15.310> a<00:25:15.350> guide,<00:25:16.230> I<00:25:16.250> think<00:25:16.450> there's<00:25:16.650> going<00:25:16.750> to<00:25:16.770> be<00:25:16.910> a<00:25:17.030> lot<00:25:17.230> of<00:25:17.350> disruption<00:25:17.630> in<00:25:17.830> 2025<00:25:18.330> that<00:25:18.550> I'm<00:25:18.690> just<00:25:18.930> not<00:25:19.270> thinking<00:25:20.090> about<00:25:20.410> yet.

00:25:22.158 --> 00:25:28.986
So<00:25:22.239> I'd<00:25:22.400> rather<00:25:22.722> just<00:25:22.835> set<00:25:23.060> the<00:25:23.124> expectation<00:25:24.654> as<00:25:25.137> open<00:25:25.475> for,<00:25:26.764> open<00:25:27.005> for<00:25:27.150> anything<00:25:27.891> and<00:25:27.971> like<00:25:28.213> ready<00:25:28.454> to<00:25:28.616> iterate.

00:25:30.840 --> 00:25:37.549
Finally,<00:25:31.017> we<00:25:31.195> end<00:25:31.502> every<00:25:31.680> interview<00:25:31.987> with<00:25:32.084> the<00:25:32.165> same<00:25:32.408> question,<00:25:32.974> and<00:25:33.054> that<00:25:33.281> is<00:25:33.442> at<00:25:33.523> CEO.com,<00:25:34.267> we<00:25:34.348> believe<00:25:34.606> the<00:25:34.736> chances<00:25:35.156> one<00:25:35.399> gives<00:25:35.964> is<00:25:36.045> just<00:25:36.175> as<00:25:36.288> important<00:25:36.546> as<00:25:36.676> the<00:25:36.757> chances<00:25:37.096> one<00:25:37.242> takes.

00:25:38.176 --> 00:25:41.175
When<00:25:38.419> you<00:25:38.597> hear<00:25:38.824> that,<00:25:39.002> who<00:25:39.165> gave<00:25:39.408> you<00:25:39.570> a<00:25:39.586> chance<00:25:39.910> to<00:25:40.040> get<00:25:40.202> you<00:25:40.299> to<00:25:40.380> where<00:25:40.607> you<00:25:40.721> are<00:25:40.867> today?

00:25:42.360 --> 00:25:46.806
You<00:25:42.457> know,<00:25:42.636> my<00:25:42.864> first<00:25:43.369> big<00:25:43.695> role,<00:25:44.346> my<00:25:44.574> first<00:25:44.819> leadership<00:25:45.161> role<00:25:45.324> came<00:25:45.633> out<00:25:45.747> of<00:25:45.828> a<00:25:45.894> startup<00:25:46.219> called<00:25:46.447> Tapjoy.

00:25:47.617 --> 00:25:51.067
And<00:25:48.098> the<00:25:48.178> way<00:25:48.275> I<00:25:48.355> got<00:25:48.580> to<00:25:48.612> that<00:25:48.820> company<00:25:49.318> was<00:25:49.944> a<00:25:49.960> friend<00:25:50.201> taking<00:25:50.441> a<00:25:50.522> chance<00:25:50.762> on<00:25:50.842> me.

00:25:51.388 --> 00:25:57.101
I<00:25:51.725> was<00:25:52.832> previously<00:25:53.250> at<00:25:53.330> Google<00:25:54.229> in<00:25:54.357> product<00:25:54.598> marketing<00:25:55.240> and<00:25:55.336> I<00:25:55.497> wanted<00:25:55.753> to<00:25:55.882> shift<00:25:56.138> into<00:25:56.363> product<00:25:56.604> management.

00:25:57.326 --> 00:26:01.434
And<00:25:58.048> at<00:25:58.128> the<00:25:58.209> time<00:25:58.706> Google<00:25:59.027> said,<00:25:59.268> hey,<00:25:59.573> you<00:25:59.669> can't<00:25:59.910> be<00:26:00.054> a<00:26:00.070> PM<00:26:00.632> unless<00:26:00.873> you're<00:26:01.033> an<00:26:01.130> engineer.

00:26:01.531 --> 00:26:06.088
So<00:26:01.739> you<00:26:01.804> have<00:26:01.852> to<00:26:01.916> go<00:26:02.076> back<00:26:02.317> to<00:26:02.397> school,<00:26:03.152> get<00:26:03.521> a<00:26:03.585> degree<00:26:04.147> in<00:26:04.243> CS<00:26:04.724> before<00:26:04.949> you<00:26:05.029> can<00:26:05.126> come<00:26:05.238> back<00:26:05.447> and<00:26:05.591> do<00:26:05.671> the<00:26:05.751> job.

00:26:06.714 --> 00:26:10.277
And<00:26:07.517> I<00:26:07.613> just<00:26:07.774> wasn't<00:26:08.078> having<00:26:08.335> it<00:26:08.817> because<00:26:08.929> I<00:26:08.945> was<00:26:09.057> like,<00:26:09.170> I'm<00:26:09.234> already<00:26:09.539> doing<00:26:09.699> the<00:26:09.764> job.

00:26:10.405 --> 00:26:12.075
I<00:26:10.502> like<00:26:10.726> have<00:26:10.823> been<00:26:10.903> doing<00:26:11.144> it<00:26:11.176> my<00:26:11.288> 20%<00:26:11.786> time.

00:26:12.732 --> 00:26:14.450
And<00:26:12.829> this<00:26:12.989> friend<00:26:13.294> was<00:26:13.390> working<00:26:13.631> at<00:26:13.711> Google<00:26:14.016> with<00:26:14.257> me.

00:26:14.578 --> 00:26:19.120
He<00:26:14.674> was<00:26:14.771> a<00:26:14.835> product<00:26:15.076> manager<00:26:15.621> and<00:26:15.701> he<00:26:15.862> hired<00:26:16.183> me<00:26:16.279> as<00:26:16.375> a<00:26:16.440> first<00:26:17.483> PM<00:26:17.980> in<00:26:18.125> his<00:26:18.269> startup<00:26:18.703> Tapjoy.

00:26:19.553 --> 00:26:28.444
And<00:26:20.356> I<00:26:20.436> went<00:26:20.596> from<00:26:20.757> being<00:26:20.933> the<00:26:21.078> first<00:26:21.334> PM<00:26:21.655> to<00:26:21.752> becoming<00:26:22.137> the<00:26:22.217> chief<00:26:22.458> product<00:26:22.779> officer<00:26:23.565> in<00:26:23.662> a<00:26:23.726> matter<00:26:23.902> of<00:26:24.047> 2<00:26:24.287> years<00:26:24.705> and<00:26:25.587> ended<00:26:25.748> up<00:26:25.892> running<00:26:26.631> all<00:26:26.775> of<00:26:26.935> product<00:26:27.272> design<00:26:27.754> and<00:26:27.914> engineering.

00:26:28.637 --> 00:26:31.798
And<00:26:29.664> it<00:26:29.904> really<00:26:30.161> set<00:26:30.466> me<00:26:30.707> on<00:26:30.803> the<00:26:30.948> course<00:26:31.301> of<00:26:31.381> my<00:26:31.525> career.

00:26:32.890 --> 00:26:40.031
It<00:26:32.970> was<00:26:33.066> probably<00:26:33.371> the<00:26:33.612> fastest,<00:26:34.173> most<00:26:35.136> dense<00:26:35.521> 2<00:26:35.762> years<00:26:36.003> of<00:26:36.099> learning<00:26:36.420> in<00:26:36.484> my<00:26:36.661> life,<00:26:37.865> but<00:26:38.025> it<00:26:38.169> all<00:26:38.346> came<00:26:38.619> down<00:26:38.747> to<00:26:38.827> him<00:26:39.229> giving<00:26:39.469> me<00:26:39.614> that<00:26:39.855> shot.

00:26:40.834 --> 00:26:41.604
So<00:26:41.010> it's<00:26:41.138> my<00:26:41.235> friend<00:26:41.459> Ben.
