# The union organizer who wants to negotiate your cable bill

Carrie Joy Grimes bought her house 15 years ago. She couldn't save 20 percent down, so she paid mortgage insurance to get in. She says she couldn't afford that same house today.

"I feel like I was part of the last wave of people who could still get in," Grimes said on the CEO.com Podcast.

Grimes is the founder and CEO of [WorkMoney](https://workmoney.org/about-us?ref=ceo.com), a nonprofit that now counts more than 9 million members. Before that she was National Organizing Director at the Service Employees International Union, where she [helped launch the Fight for $15](https://www.emersoncollective.com/persons/carrie-joy-grimes-dd2024?ref=ceo.com), the campaign to raise the minimum wage.

"WorkMoney is a nonprofit, kind of like the AARP," she said. "You know how the AARP helps folks navigate aging? Well, we help folks navigate money. We don't send you an envelope when you turn 50 that makes you feel old, but we do have coupons and discounts."

It started during COVID, when Grimes built a simple website explaining stimulus checks and how relief programs worked. It exploded. People needed help understanding money, and a nonprofit with no product to sell was something they could trust. Today WorkMoney has about 100 employees, all remote, and Grimes says its content draws over a billion views a year.

The numbers behind her argument are public. The Federal Reserve's [2025 household survey](https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases/other20260513a.htm) found that 63 percent of American adults said they would cover a $400 emergency expense using cash or its equivalent, unchanged from the year before. Prices remained the most common financial concern, cited by 91 percent. A [RAND working paper](https://www.rand.org/pubs/working%5Fpapers/WRA516-1.html?ref=ceo.com) Grimes cites often puts a number on the longer trend. Had income growth since 1975 stayed as equitable as it was in the first two post-war decades, aggregate income for Americans below the 90th percentile would have been $2.5 trillion higher in 2018 alone, or 67 percent more than they actually earned. Across the full period, the gap totals $47 trillion.

"Over the last 50 years, it's gotten harder, not easier, for people to succeed financially," Grimes said. "That's not the promise of the American Dream. The promise was that if you worked hard, you'd have a reasonable shot at financial security and success. I don't think that feels reasonable anymore."

She has no quarrel with wealth. "I'm all for people getting rich. Go build companies, make money, create value. But we can do that without extracting so much from everyone else. When people have enough security to take risks, build companies, and try new ideas, markets are stronger. When fewer companies control more of what happens, capitalism becomes brittle."

So she is doing what organizers do. She is counting heads.

WorkMoney already negotiates discounts on prescriptions, insurance, and phone plans. Its next product negotiates directly with cable, internet, and cell phone companies on a member's behalf, armed with what the organization knows about the retention deals those companies offer customers who threaten to cancel. Grimes wants to aim it higher from there.

"I would love to start arguing with health insurance companies on behalf of members," she said. "As an individual, it's hard to fight giant corporations. But with 50 million people behind you? That changes the conversation."

The nonprofit structure was deliberate. "During COVID, it mattered that people trusted the information they were getting. I wanted people to know the mission was the point." A for-profit subsidiary will build products and services. The nonprofit owns it.

The bill negotiation service will pair humans with AI agents, and Grimes has few illusions about what is coming. Her daughter, a college freshman, asks what she should study to get a good job. Grimes admits she no longer knows. "AI is coming whether people like it or not," she said. "The important question is how we shape it."

Her first book, [The Joy of Money](https://thejoyofmoney.com/?ref=ceo.com), came out from Harper Business on May 19\. Its premise is that two things are true at once: you are responsible for your money choices, and the system makes it too hard to get ahead.

Every CEO.com Podcast conversation ends with the same question: who gave you a chance that led you to where you are? Grimes named Reid Hoffman, whose book Blitzscaling convinced her that WorkMoney could be big, and whose team later invested an early $50,000\. But her first answer was a woman in the bursar's office at Northern Illinois University who picked up the phone one day and took the time to explain college finances to a confused kid.

Grimes never learned her name.

00:00:19.400 --> 00:00:25.840
Give<00:00:19.664> me<00:00:19.929> a<00:00:20.193> sense<00:00:20.457> for<00:00:20.722> what<00:00:20.986> WorkMoney<00:00:21.250> is<00:00:21.515> and<00:00:21.779> what<00:00:22.043> it<00:00:22.308> does<00:00:22.572> and<00:00:22.837> why<00:00:23.101> it<00:00:23.365> was<00:00:23.630> so<00:00:23.894> important<00:00:24.158> to<00:00:24.423> you<00:00:24.687> that<00:00:24.951> you're<00:00:25.216> doing<00:00:25.480> this.

00:00:25.840 --> 00:00:28.680
WorkMoney<00:00:26.110> is<00:00:26.380> a<00:00:26.650> nonprofit,<00:00:26.920> kind<00:00:27.190> of<00:00:27.460> like<00:00:27.730> the<00:00:28.000> AARP.

00:00:28.680 --> 00:00:31.600
You<00:00:28.760> know<00:00:28.840> how<00:00:28.920> the<00:00:29.080> AARP<00:00:29.640> helps<00:00:29.960> folks<00:00:30.200> navigate<00:00:30.800> aging?

00:00:31.600 --> 00:00:34.560
Well,<00:00:31.840> we<00:00:32.240> are<00:00:32.480> a<00:00:32.520> nonprofit<00:00:32.960> helps<00:00:33.160> folks<00:00:33.320> navigate<00:00:33.840> money.

00:00:34.560 --> 00:00:37.880
And<00:00:34.640> we<00:00:34.720> don't<00:00:34.920> send<00:00:35.120> you<00:00:35.160> an<00:00:35.240> envelope<00:00:35.560> when<00:00:35.640> you<00:00:35.720> turn<00:00:35.960> 50<00:00:36.240> that<00:00:36.360> makes<00:00:36.560> you<00:00:36.680> feel<00:00:36.880> old.

00:00:37.880 --> 00:00:45.800
You<00:00:37.920> know,<00:00:38.040> we<00:00:38.160> have<00:00:38.560> coupons<00:00:39.120> and<00:00:39.280> discounts.<00:00:40.080> We've<00:00:40.280> got<00:00:40.640> information<00:00:41.240> about<00:00:42.200> um<00:00:42.360> different<00:00:42.800> programs<00:00:43.280> and<00:00:43.400> services,<00:00:44.320> everything<00:00:44.760> from<00:00:45.000> public<00:00:45.280> sector<00:00:45.520> stuff

00:00:45.800 --> 00:00:53.120
to<00:00:45.880> private<00:00:46.240> sector<00:00:46.560> things.<00:00:47.480> And<00:00:47.800> our<00:00:48.040> vision<00:00:48.440> is<00:00:48.560> an<00:00:48.640> America<00:00:49.160> where<00:00:49.320> everybody<00:00:50.200> who<00:00:50.320> wants<00:00:50.520> to<00:00:50.640> contribute<00:00:51.040> or<00:00:51.120> work<00:00:51.320> hard<00:00:51.600> can<00:00:51.760> afford<00:00:52.040> to<00:00:52.160> live<00:00:52.280> a<00:00:52.360> good<00:00:52.520> life.

00:00:53.120 --> 00:00:59.240
It's<00:00:53.240> just<00:00:53.400> not<00:00:53.600> rocket<00:00:53.880> surgery.<00:00:54.760> And<00:00:54.880> so,<00:00:55.000> we<00:00:55.120> do<00:00:55.280> everything<00:00:55.680> we<00:00:55.800> can<00:00:56.040> to<00:00:56.120> help<00:00:56.280> people<00:00:56.480> at<00:00:56.520> the<00:00:56.600> individual<00:00:57.080> level<00:00:57.320> and<00:00:57.440> navigate<00:00:57.880> a<00:00:57.960> financial<00:00:58.320> decision.

00:00:59.240 --> 00:01:03.760
But<00:00:59.360> also,<00:01:00.000> we<00:01:00.160> think<00:01:00.360> a<00:01:00.400> lot<00:01:00.520> about<00:01:00.680> how<00:01:00.760> do<00:01:00.840> we<00:01:00.920> use<00:01:01.080> our,<00:01:01.720> you<00:01:01.760> know,<00:01:01.840> the<00:01:02.240> the<00:01:02.480> the<00:01:02.560> size<00:01:03.040> of<00:01:03.120> an<00:01:03.200> organization.

00:01:03.760 --> 00:01:11.040
How<00:01:03.880> how<00:01:04.199> big<00:01:04.519> can<00:01:04.680> we<00:01:04.800> get<00:01:05.600> and<00:01:05.760> how<00:01:05.840> can<00:01:05.960> we<00:01:06.080> use<00:01:06.200> that<00:01:06.440> strength<00:01:06.920> to<00:01:07.040> bargain<00:01:07.440> for<00:01:07.880> cheaper<00:01:08.200> things<00:01:08.520> at<00:01:08.640> scale<00:01:09.120> and<00:01:09.560> make<00:01:09.720> sure<00:01:09.840> that<00:01:10.040> folks<00:01:10.280> who<00:01:10.400> are<00:01:10.520> in<00:01:10.600> charge<00:01:10.920> know

00:01:11.040 --> 00:01:13.920
what<00:01:11.160> we<00:01:11.280> expect<00:01:11.640> of<00:01:11.760> them<00:01:11.960> and<00:01:12.080> businesses<00:01:12.560> and<00:01:12.680> government.

00:01:13.920 --> 00:01:19.000
Well,<00:01:14.040> you're<00:01:14.160> doing<00:01:14.400> something<00:01:14.760> that,<00:01:15.120> you<00:01:15.240> know,<00:01:15.400> couldn't<00:01:15.760> feel<00:01:16.000> more<00:01:16.280> necessary<00:01:16.960> or<00:01:17.040> important<00:01:17.520> than<00:01:17.640> now,<00:01:18.200> right?

00:01:19.000 --> 00:01:27.440
As<00:01:19.160> you<00:01:19.280> see<00:01:19.480> like<00:01:19.680> the<00:01:19.800> class<00:01:20.200> divide<00:01:20.840> that<00:01:21.080> that<00:01:21.320> we're<00:01:21.680> all<00:01:21.880> experiencing<00:01:22.760> in<00:01:23.120> and<00:01:23.280> the<00:01:23.480> insane<00:01:24.040> transfer<00:01:24.600> of<00:01:24.760> wealth<00:01:25.040> that's<00:01:25.280> happened<00:01:26.280> over<00:01:26.480> the<00:01:26.600> past<00:01:26.880> 20,<00:01:27.160> 30

00:01:27.440 --> 00:01:32.720
years,<00:01:27.760> but<00:01:27.920> even<00:01:28.120> like<00:01:28.320> since<00:01:28.560> COVID,<00:01:29.080> the<00:01:29.160> numbers<00:01:29.560> that<00:01:29.680> you<00:01:29.800> see<00:01:30.000> and<00:01:30.160> the<00:01:30.400> transfer<00:01:30.880> of<00:01:30.960> wealth<00:01:31.480> is<00:01:31.760> staggering.

00:01:32.720 --> 00:01:36.520
Yeah.<00:01:33.160> So,<00:01:33.320> the<00:01:33.440> very<00:01:34.280> wealthy<00:01:34.720> are<00:01:34.840> getting<00:01:35.120> wealthier.

00:01:36.520 --> 00:01:45.440
The<00:01:36.600> middle<00:01:36.880> class<00:01:37.240> seems<00:01:37.520> to<00:01:37.600> be<00:01:37.720> shrinking.<00:01:38.600> It's<00:01:38.760> becoming<00:01:39.200> harder<00:01:39.640> and<00:01:39.760> harder<00:01:41.000> uh<00:01:41.200> to<00:01:42.440> if<00:01:42.680> you<00:01:42.880> are,<00:01:43.080> you<00:01:43.160> know,<00:01:43.320> I<00:01:43.360> have<00:01:43.560> a<00:01:44.040> uh<00:01:44.840> kids

00:01:45.440 --> 00:01:48.800
and,<00:01:45.670> you<00:01:45.900> know,<00:01:46.130> they're<00:01:46.360> graduated<00:01:46.590> from<00:01:46.820> high<00:01:47.050> school<00:01:47.280> and<00:01:47.510> like<00:01:47.740> Oh,<00:01:47.970> you<00:01:48.200> know.

00:01:48.800 --> 00:01:51.640
How<00:01:48.960> are<00:01:49.040> they<00:01:49.200> going<00:01:49.360> to<00:01:50.320> afford<00:01:50.680> a<00:01:50.760> home?

00:01:51.640 --> 00:01:56.960
Is<00:01:51.760> that<00:01:51.920> even<00:01:52.120> a<00:01:52.240> thing?<00:01:52.880> Like<00:01:53.080> are<00:01:53.160> they<00:01:53.280> just<00:01:53.440> going<00:01:53.560> to<00:01:53.600> live<00:01:53.760> with<00:01:53.920> me<00:01:54.080> their<00:01:54.240> whole<00:01:54.720> Like<00:01:54.920> I<00:01:55.000> I<00:01:55.160> even<00:01:55.440> know<00:01:55.920> like<00:01:56.240> which<00:01:56.440> is<00:01:56.600> fine.

00:01:56.960 --> 00:02:05.280
I<00:01:57.080> actually<00:01:57.360> would<00:01:57.480> love<00:01:57.640> that.<00:01:58.320> But<00:01:59.080> uh<00:01:59.200> you<00:01:59.360> know,<00:01:59.560> like<00:02:00.120> what<00:02:00.360> is<00:02:00.480> going<00:02:00.800> on<00:02:01.480> that<00:02:01.640> you<00:02:01.760> can't<00:02:02.240> it<00:02:02.360> feels<00:02:02.640> like<00:02:03.040> you<00:02:03.120> know,<00:02:03.240> the<00:02:03.400> next<00:02:03.640> generation<00:02:04.560> and<00:02:04.680> my<00:02:04.840> children's

00:02:05.280 --> 00:02:13.040
generation<00:02:06.560> can't<00:02:08.520> you<00:02:08.600> know,<00:02:09.119> fulfill<00:02:09.840> the<00:02:09.960> American<00:02:10.440> dream<00:02:10.720> the<00:02:10.840> way<00:02:11.000> it<00:02:11.160> was<00:02:11.360> pitched<00:02:11.680> to<00:02:11.880> us.

00:02:13.040 --> 00:02:20.120
Which<00:02:13.200> is<00:02:13.320> you<00:02:13.440> could<00:02:13.840> afford<00:02:14.240> a<00:02:14.320> home.<00:02:15.120> You<00:02:15.280> could<00:02:16.040> you<00:02:16.160> know,<00:02:16.320> be<00:02:16.520> like<00:02:16.880> a<00:02:17.520> high<00:02:17.720> school<00:02:18.080> school<00:02:18.440> teacher<00:02:19.120> and<00:02:19.320> still<00:02:19.560> make<00:02:19.720> a<00:02:19.800> living.

00:02:20.120 --> 00:02:27.400
I<00:02:20.160> mean<00:02:20.280> that's<00:02:20.440> all<00:02:20.600> that's<00:02:20.840> a<00:02:20.880> bad<00:02:21.040> example<00:02:21.440> cuz<00:02:21.600> they<00:02:21.680> don't<00:02:21.840> get<00:02:21.959> paid<00:02:22.160> nearly<00:02:22.400> enough<00:02:22.600> but<00:02:22.680> you<00:02:22.800> get<00:02:23.000> you<00:02:23.160> get<00:02:23.280> my<00:02:23.400> point<00:02:23.640> like<00:02:24.280> we're<00:02:24.440> not<00:02:24.880> doing<00:02:25.280> enough<00:02:26.760> for<00:02:26.959> whatever

00:02:27.400 --> 00:02:30.160
reason.<00:02:27.800> This<00:02:27.959> isn't<00:02:28.160> even<00:02:28.320> a<00:02:28.360> government<00:02:28.840> thing.<00:02:29.000> This<00:02:29.120> is<00:02:29.240> a<00:02:29.280> society<00:02:29.880> thing.

00:02:30.160 --> 00:02:37.840
Government<00:02:30.600> just<00:02:30.760> reflects<00:02:31.200> us,<00:02:31.400> I<00:02:31.440> think.<00:02:32.280> Um<00:02:32.959> and<00:02:33.200> so<00:02:34.360> what<00:02:34.560> you're<00:02:34.720> doing<00:02:34.959> couldn't<00:02:35.200> be<00:02:35.320> more<00:02:35.520> important<00:02:35.959> I<00:02:36.080> want<00:02:36.280> people<00:02:36.520> to<00:02:36.560> understand<00:02:37.160> like<00:02:37.320> what<00:02:37.520> it<00:02:37.640> is.

00:02:37.840 --> 00:02:40.440
So<00:02:38.840> you<00:02:38.920> have<00:02:39.000> 9<00:02:39.240> million<00:02:39.520> members.

00:02:40.440 --> 00:02:43.680
We<00:02:40.520> do.<00:02:41.640> Which<00:02:41.880> is<00:02:42.840> oh<00:02:42.920> my<00:02:43.080> goodness.

00:02:43.680 --> 00:02:46.840
Congratulations.<00:02:44.520> That's<00:02:44.840> incredible.<00:02:45.640> That's<00:02:45.880> so<00:02:46.080> hard<00:02:46.320> to<00:02:46.400> do.

00:02:46.840 --> 00:02:49.480
I<00:02:46.920> don't<00:02:47.320> you<00:02:47.440> know,<00:02:47.680> I<00:02:47.760> can't<00:02:48.000> even<00:02:48.680> that's<00:02:48.880> hard<00:02:49.080> to<00:02:49.160> fathom.

00:02:49.480 --> 00:02:53.240
That's<00:02:49.720> wonderful<00:02:50.280> and<00:02:50.360> amazing.<00:02:51.840> Um<00:02:52.320> I<00:02:52.400> live<00:02:52.600> in<00:02:52.680> the<00:02:52.760> state<00:02:52.959> of<00:02:53.040> Utah.

00:02:53.240 --> 00:02:57.240
There's<00:02:53.400> 3<00:02:53.640> million<00:02:53.920> people<00:02:54.200> in<00:02:54.240> the<00:02:54.320> entire<00:02:54.600> state.<00:02:55.160> So<00:02:55.240> it's<00:02:55.320> nice<00:02:55.440> to<00:02:55.520> get<00:02:55.680> people<00:02:55.880> like<00:02:56.040> a<00:02:56.720> Yeah.

00:02:57.240 --> 00:02:59.472
sense<00:02:57.440> for<00:02:57.520> like<00:02:57.680> what<00:02:57.840> 9<00:02:58.160> million<00:02:58.880> is.

00:02:59.472 --> 00:03:02.560
[laughter]<00:02:59.560> Yeah,<00:02:59.680> that's<00:03:00.120> that's<00:03:00.320> a<00:03:00.400> lot<00:03:00.640> of<00:03:00.720> people.<00:03:01.040> So<00:03:01.160> there<00:03:01.360> yeah.

00:03:02.560 --> 00:03:10.200
Um<00:03:02.600> so<00:03:02.880> so<00:03:03.120> well<00:03:03.360> done<00:03:03.600> there.<00:03:04.720> And<00:03:05.000> give<00:03:05.160> me<00:03:05.320> give<00:03:05.480> us<00:03:05.600> a<00:03:05.680> sense<00:03:05.920> like<00:03:06.040> you<00:03:06.320> mentioned<00:03:06.680> it<00:03:06.800> kind<00:03:06.959> of<00:03:07.040> in<00:03:07.160> your<00:03:07.320> opening<00:03:07.600> but<00:03:07.760> like<00:03:07.880> this<00:03:08.040> whole<00:03:08.200> idea<00:03:08.400> of<00:03:08.480> like<00:03:08.600> negotiating

00:03:10.200 --> 00:03:14.480
on<00:03:10.320> behalf<00:03:10.800> of<00:03:10.959> like<00:03:11.160> 9<00:03:11.480> million<00:03:11.840> members<00:03:12.360> in<00:03:12.519> the<00:03:12.640> power<00:03:13.160> of<00:03:13.280> that.

00:03:14.480 --> 00:03:19.120
Um<00:03:15.080> and<00:03:16.080> the<00:03:17.239> for<00:03:17.360> example<00:03:17.640> like<00:03:17.880> maybe<00:03:18.120> like<00:03:18.320> phone<00:03:18.560> bills<00:03:18.800> or<00:03:18.880> something.

00:03:19.120 --> 00:03:22.760
I<00:03:19.160> don't<00:03:19.280> know<00:03:19.360> what<00:03:19.480> you<00:03:19.560> want<00:03:19.680> to<00:03:19.760> like<00:03:19.880> but<00:03:20.080> tell<00:03:20.239> us<00:03:20.400> like<00:03:20.560> how<00:03:20.800> how<00:03:21.080> all<00:03:21.200> of<00:03:21.280> this<00:03:21.480> works.

00:03:22.760 --> 00:03:26.600
Well,<00:03:23.320> I<00:03:23.440> just<00:03:23.680> want<00:03:23.800> to<00:03:23.880> say<00:03:24.680> it<00:03:24.840> shouldn't<00:03:25.080> be<00:03:25.200> so<00:03:25.360> hard<00:03:25.560> to<00:03:25.640> get<00:03:25.760> by.

00:03:26.600 --> 00:03:34.440
It<00:03:26.720> shouldn't<00:03:27.000> be.<00:03:27.320> I<00:03:27.400> mean<00:03:27.600> and<00:03:27.680> with<00:03:27.880> AI<00:03:28.239> coming<00:03:28.720> which<00:03:28.880> is<00:03:28.959> going<00:03:29.080> to<00:03:29.400> be<00:03:29.560> this<00:03:29.800> incredible<00:03:30.519> transformation<00:03:31.800> of<00:03:31.959> what<00:03:32.160> work<00:03:32.440> is<00:03:32.680> and<00:03:32.800> what<00:03:32.920> jobs<00:03:33.320> are<00:03:33.680> and<00:03:33.800> how<00:03:33.880> we<00:03:34.000> communicate

00:03:34.440 --> 00:03:37.160
with<00:03:34.560> each<00:03:34.720> other.<00:03:35.320> There's<00:03:35.480> just<00:03:35.640> so<00:03:35.840> much<00:03:36.080> uncertainty.

00:03:37.160 --> 00:03:40.160
I<00:03:37.200> mean<00:03:37.400> as<00:03:37.519> a<00:03:37.560> parent<00:03:38.000> I<00:03:38.080> just<00:03:38.400> my<00:03:38.519> daughter<00:03:38.920> is<00:03:39.080> a<00:03:39.120> freshman<00:03:39.560> in<00:03:39.640> college.

00:03:40.160 --> 00:03:46.280
It's<00:03:40.440> she<00:03:40.959> I<00:03:41.040> dropped<00:03:41.320> her<00:03:41.400> off<00:03:41.560> at<00:03:41.680> college<00:03:42.040> like<00:03:42.160> three<00:03:42.360> or<00:03:42.440> four<00:03:42.600> weeks<00:03:42.840> ago<00:03:43.200> and<00:03:43.680> I<00:03:43.800> still<00:03:44.080> can't<00:03:44.320> believe<00:03:44.680> that<00:03:45.200> that's<00:03:45.480> how<00:03:45.640> old<00:03:45.880> she<00:03:46.040> is.

00:03:46.280 --> 00:03:48.600
How<00:03:46.640> do<00:03:46.840> they<00:03:47.040> get<00:03:47.320> so<00:03:47.600> old<00:03:47.959> so<00:03:48.120> quickly?

00:03:48.600 --> 00:03:55.640
It's<00:03:48.720> so<00:03:49.000> crazy.<00:03:49.840> It's<00:03:49.959> crazy.<00:03:50.800> But<00:03:51.040> but<00:03:51.200> she<00:03:51.360> you<00:03:51.440> know,<00:03:51.560> she's<00:03:52.680> she<00:03:52.760> says<00:03:52.880> to<00:03:52.959> me,<00:03:53.120> know,<00:03:53.160> "Mom,<00:03:53.400> what<00:03:53.560> should<00:03:53.760> I<00:03:53.880> study<00:03:54.640> to<00:03:54.760> get<00:03:54.880> a<00:03:54.960> good<00:03:55.120> job?"

00:03:55.640 --> 00:04:04.720
And<00:03:55.880> I<00:03:55.960> was<00:03:56.200> like<00:03:58.360> you<00:03:58.480> know,<00:03:58.560> I<00:03:58.600> mean,<00:03:58.840> there's<00:03:59.120> obviously,<00:03:59.800> like<00:04:00.000> you<00:04:00.080> used<00:04:00.240> to<00:04:00.320> say<00:04:00.440> it's<00:04:00.560> the<00:04:00.640> sciences,<00:04:01.280> but<00:04:01.440> with<00:04:01.600> AI,<00:04:01.920> who<00:04:02.160> you<00:04:02.240> know,<00:04:02.400> there's<00:04:02.640> a<00:04:02.680> lot<00:04:02.880> of<00:04:03.600> uncertainty

00:04:04.720 --> 00:04:10.920
about<00:04:05.000> what's<00:04:05.160> going<00:04:05.280> to<00:04:05.360> happen<00:04:05.600> next<00:04:06.040> for<00:04:06.200> people.<00:04:06.840> And<00:04:06.959> I<00:04:07.040> feel<00:04:07.400> on<00:04:07.560> top<00:04:07.880> of<00:04:08.680> a<00:04:08.720> moment<00:04:09.040> where<00:04:09.120> it's<00:04:09.240> already<00:04:09.520> pretty<00:04:09.720> hard<00:04:10.000> to<00:04:10.120> get<00:04:10.280> by.

00:04:10.920 --> 00:04:17.440
I<00:04:11.000> mean,<00:04:11.240> I<00:04:11.360> couldn't<00:04:11.640> afford<00:04:11.920> to<00:04:11.959> buy<00:04:12.080> my<00:04:12.240> house<00:04:12.840> in<00:04:12.920> the<00:04:13.000> neighborhood<00:04:13.360> that<00:04:13.480> I'm<00:04:13.600> in<00:04:13.720> right<00:04:13.920> now,<00:04:14.200> given<00:04:14.520> what's<00:04:14.720> up<00:04:14.840> with<00:04:14.959> home<00:04:15.120> valuations<00:04:15.880> and<00:04:16.600> I<00:04:16.720> barely<00:04:17.160> got<00:04:17.320> into

00:04:17.440 --> 00:04:22.000
that<00:04:17.600> house,<00:04:18.040> you<00:04:18.120> know,<00:04:18.239> 15<00:04:18.640> years<00:04:18.840> ago.<00:04:19.959> I<00:04:20.000> couldn't<00:04:20.239> get<00:04:20.480> I<00:04:20.560> couldn't<00:04:20.840> save<00:04:21.000> 20%<00:04:21.680> down.

00:04:22.000 --> 00:04:28.320
I<00:04:22.080> did<00:04:22.280> less<00:04:22.480> than<00:04:22.680> that,<00:04:22.960> and<00:04:23.080> then,<00:04:23.600> you<00:04:23.680> know,<00:04:23.840> had<00:04:23.960> had<00:04:24.400> had<00:04:24.600> mortgage<00:04:24.919> insurance,<00:04:25.520> and<00:04:25.960> you<00:04:26.040> know,<00:04:26.120> it<00:04:26.160> was<00:04:26.400> I<00:04:26.480> was<00:04:26.640> like<00:04:26.880> kind<00:04:27.040> of<00:04:27.120> the<00:04:27.200> last<00:04:27.640> wave<00:04:27.880> of<00:04:28.000> people<00:04:28.240> who

00:04:28.320 --> 00:04:34.400
I<00:04:28.360> thought<00:04:28.520> could<00:04:28.640> like<00:04:28.800> kind<00:04:29.120> of<00:04:29.200> get<00:04:29.400> in<00:04:29.560> there.<00:04:29.840> And<00:04:29.960> I<00:04:30.000> just<00:04:30.200> want<00:04:30.360> to<00:04:30.440> just<00:04:30.720> underscore<00:04:31.160> what<00:04:31.280> you're<00:04:31.400> saying<00:04:31.720> that<00:04:31.880> over<00:04:32.080> the<00:04:32.160> last<00:04:32.440> 50<00:04:32.720> or<00:04:32.840> so<00:04:33.080> years,<00:04:33.880> it's<00:04:34.080> gotten

00:04:34.400 --> 00:04:37.000
harder,<00:04:34.800> not<00:04:35.000> easier,<00:04:35.360> for<00:04:35.480> people<00:04:36.000> to<00:04:36.160> get<00:04:36.320> by.

00:04:37.000 --> 00:04:39.680
And<00:04:37.120> that's<00:04:37.280> not<00:04:37.400> the<00:04:37.520> promise<00:04:37.960> that<00:04:38.280> of<00:04:38.400> this<00:04:38.560> country<00:04:38.919> or<00:04:39.000> the<00:04:39.080> American<00:04:39.440> dream.

00:04:39.680 --> 00:04:44.160
Like<00:04:39.760> the<00:04:39.840> promise<00:04:40.280> is<00:04:40.360> that<00:04:40.480> if<00:04:40.600> you<00:04:40.720> work<00:04:40.919> hard,<00:04:41.120> you<00:04:41.200> have<00:04:41.280> a<00:04:41.360> reasonable<00:04:41.840> chance<00:04:42.200> of<00:04:42.280> financial<00:04:42.600> security<00:04:43.040> and<00:04:43.120> success.

00:04:44.160 --> 00:04:49.600
I<00:04:44.320> don't<00:04:44.520> think<00:04:44.760> under<00:04:45.000> anybody's<00:04:45.520> measurement<00:04:45.960> you<00:04:46.040> can<00:04:46.200> say<00:04:46.320> that<00:04:46.480> it's<00:04:46.600> reasonable<00:04:47.080> anymore,<00:04:47.600> you<00:04:47.680> know,<00:04:47.800> that<00:04:47.919> I<00:04:47.960> think<00:04:48.160> we've<00:04:48.320> really<00:04:48.560> kind<00:04:48.720> of<00:04:48.840> lost<00:04:49.160> the<00:04:49.240> thread

00:04:49.600 --> 00:04:57.160
on<00:04:50.200> what<00:04:50.400> it<00:04:50.480> means<00:04:50.720> to<00:04:50.800> have<00:04:50.919> an<00:04:51.000> economy<00:04:51.880> that<00:04:52.280> works<00:04:52.600> for<00:04:52.800> the<00:04:52.919> people<00:04:53.160> who<00:04:53.280> are<00:04:53.400> working<00:04:53.760> in<00:04:53.919> it<00:04:54.440> versus<00:04:55.040> an<00:04:55.160> economy<00:04:55.680> that<00:04:55.919> generates<00:04:56.320> a<00:04:56.360> lot<00:04:56.520> of<00:04:56.600> wealth,<00:04:56.960> but<00:04:57.040> it's

00:04:57.160 --> 00:05:02.000
increasingly<00:04:57.640> captured<00:04:57.960> by<00:04:58.080> fewer<00:04:58.280> and<00:04:58.360> fewer<00:04:58.560> people.<00:04:59.240> And<00:04:59.320> look,<00:04:59.840> I'm<00:05:00.440> all<00:05:00.720> for<00:05:00.960> folks<00:05:01.400> getting<00:05:01.680> rich.

00:05:02.000 --> 00:05:06.680
Like<00:05:02.240> go<00:05:02.480> nuts,<00:05:02.800> get<00:05:03.040> rich,<00:05:03.480> have<00:05:03.640> a<00:05:03.720> good<00:05:03.919> idea,<00:05:04.360> build<00:05:04.680> a<00:05:04.720> company,<00:05:05.200> make<00:05:05.440> a<00:05:05.480> lot<00:05:05.680> of<00:05:05.760> money.

00:05:06.680 --> 00:05:13.520
And<00:05:07.200> I<00:05:07.240> think<00:05:07.440> it's<00:05:07.560> very<00:05:07.800> possible<00:05:08.240> to<00:05:08.320> do<00:05:08.440> that<00:05:08.560> in<00:05:08.640> a<00:05:08.680> way<00:05:08.720> that<00:05:08.880> doesn't<00:05:09.160> extract<00:05:09.840> from<00:05:10.120> quite<00:05:10.360> so<00:05:10.480> many<00:05:10.720> of<00:05:10.840> us<00:05:11.000> and<00:05:11.080> make<00:05:11.240> everybody<00:05:11.640> else,<00:05:12.000> you<00:05:12.080> know,<00:05:12.200> poor<00:05:12.600> or<00:05:12.760> having

00:05:13.520 --> 00:05:16.360
to<00:05:13.640> do<00:05:13.880> more<00:05:14.160> with<00:05:14.280> the<00:05:14.360> same<00:05:14.520> amount<00:05:14.720> of<00:05:14.760> money<00:05:14.919> that<00:05:15.040> they<00:05:15.160> already<00:05:15.480> have.

00:05:16.360 --> 00:05:18.520
I<00:05:16.520> agree.<00:05:17.120> Yeah.<00:05:17.919> Oh,<00:05:17.960> no,<00:05:18.080> go<00:05:18.200> ahead.

00:05:18.520 --> 00:05:22.720
No,<00:05:18.640> just<00:05:18.919> to<00:05:18.960> underscore<00:05:19.400> I<00:05:19.480> couldn't<00:05:19.800> agree<00:05:20.000> more<00:05:20.400> with<00:05:20.520> what<00:05:20.640> you<00:05:20.760> obviously<00:05:21.080> you're<00:05:21.160> talking<00:05:21.360> to<00:05:21.440> ceo.com.

00:05:22.720 --> 00:05:30.160
So<00:05:23.280> so<00:05:23.440> we're<00:05:23.600> totally<00:05:24.280> we're<00:05:24.440> totally<00:05:24.840> good<00:05:25.640> with<00:05:25.840> people<00:05:26.160> making<00:05:26.480> money<00:05:27.200> and<00:05:27.400> building<00:05:27.800> incredible<00:05:28.280> things<00:05:28.520> and<00:05:28.640> things<00:05:28.840> like<00:05:29.320> obviously<00:05:29.640> we<00:05:29.760> probably<00:05:30.000> wouldn't

00:05:30.160 --> 00:05:33.120
have<00:05:30.280> a<00:05:30.720> business<00:05:31.520> were<00:05:31.680> people<00:05:31.960> not<00:05:32.120> doing<00:05:32.360> that.

00:05:33.120 --> 00:05:39.880
But<00:05:33.280> at<00:05:33.360> the<00:05:33.480> same<00:05:33.800> time,<00:05:35.040> there<00:05:35.280> is<00:05:35.480> something<00:05:35.919> really<00:05:36.160> interesting<00:05:36.720> about<00:05:37.000> what<00:05:37.320> what<00:05:37.560> what<00:05:37.800> about<00:05:38.080> what<00:05:38.200> you<00:05:38.320> just<00:05:38.520> said.

00:05:39.880 --> 00:05:48.480
And<00:05:40.120> it's<00:05:40.680> we're<00:05:40.880> living<00:05:41.280> in<00:05:41.400> this<00:05:41.600> new<00:05:42.080> age<00:05:42.840> of<00:05:43.520> monopolies<00:05:44.520> and<00:05:44.680> oligarchies,<00:05:46.400> you<00:05:46.480> know,<00:05:46.680> where<00:05:46.880> like<00:05:47.080> these<00:05:47.480> like<00:05:47.680> the<00:05:47.880> numbers

00:05:48.480 --> 00:05:56.680
that<00:05:48.600> are<00:05:48.680> coming<00:05:48.960> out<00:05:49.080> like<00:05:49.320> Elon<00:05:49.600> Musk<00:05:49.840> will<00:05:49.960> soon<00:05:50.400> be<00:05:50.840> not<00:05:51.000> to<00:05:51.080> pick<00:05:51.240> on<00:05:51.360> him,<00:05:51.560> but<00:05:51.680> let's<00:05:51.880> do<00:05:52.040> it<00:05:52.920> cuz<00:05:52.960> he's<00:05:53.120> probably<00:05:53.560> used<00:05:53.800> to<00:05:53.960> it<00:05:54.320> and<00:05:55.000> whatever,<00:05:55.560> you<00:05:55.680> know,<00:05:55.960> but

00:05:56.680 --> 00:06:00.520
uh<00:05:57.640> Elon<00:05:57.840> Musk<00:05:58.040> is<00:05:58.160> about<00:05:58.440> to<00:05:58.520> be<00:05:58.600> the<00:05:58.720> first<00:05:59.080> trillionaire.

00:06:00.520 --> 00:06:06.160
Mhm.<00:06:01.520> You<00:06:01.680> know<00:06:01.760> what<00:06:01.880> I<00:06:01.920> mean?<00:06:02.320> Isn't<00:06:02.520> that<00:06:02.640> a<00:06:02.720> such<00:06:03.000> an<00:06:03.080> interesting<00:06:04.520> contra-<00:06:05.600> He<00:06:05.680> should<00:06:05.920> be<00:06:06.040> it.

00:06:06.160 --> 00:06:08.480
Like<00:06:06.360> I<00:06:06.400> have<00:06:06.560> nothing<00:06:06.880> against<00:06:07.200> trillionaires.<00:06:07.520> I<00:06:07.560> have<00:06:07.640> nothing<00:06:07.800> against<00:06:08.040> billionaires.

00:06:08.480 --> 00:06:16.960
Like<00:06:08.680> great,<00:06:09.080> that's<00:06:09.360> great.<00:06:10.040> What's<00:06:10.240> fascinating<00:06:10.720> is<00:06:10.800> we<00:06:10.960> live<00:06:11.120> in<00:06:11.240> a<00:06:11.280> society<00:06:12.480> where<00:06:13.800> 80<00:06:14.400> 85%<00:06:16.280> couldn't<00:06:16.600> afford

00:06:16.960 --> 00:06:19.960
a<00:06:17.000> $500<00:06:17.760> emergency.<00:06:18.960> Yeah,<00:06:19.080> that's<00:06:19.280> something<00:06:19.440> I<00:06:19.480> talked<00:06:19.640> about.

00:06:19.960 --> 00:06:24.440
I<00:06:20.000> mean,<00:06:20.200> capitalism<00:06:21.080> works<00:06:21.520> best<00:06:22.200> when<00:06:22.400> people<00:06:22.760> can<00:06:22.919> participate<00:06:23.520> in<00:06:23.640> it.

00:06:24.440 --> 00:06:31.200
When<00:06:24.840> when<00:06:25.120> when<00:06:25.320> folks<00:06:25.680> can<00:06:25.880> take<00:06:26.120> their<00:06:26.320> ideas<00:06:26.800> and<00:06:26.919> be<00:06:27.080> entrepreneurial<00:06:28.040> and<00:06:28.200> figure<00:06:28.520> out<00:06:28.640> how<00:06:28.720> they<00:06:28.880> get<00:06:29.080> the<00:06:29.160> resources<00:06:29.680> together<00:06:30.000> to<00:06:30.120> launch<00:06:30.440> new<00:06:30.560> businesses

00:06:31.200 --> 00:06:38.280
to<00:06:31.320> try<00:06:31.600> things.<00:06:32.560> And<00:06:32.760> when<00:06:33.000> fewer<00:06:33.480> companies<00:06:34.560> control<00:06:35.040> more<00:06:35.360> of<00:06:35.480> what<00:06:35.680> happens,<00:06:36.800> it's<00:06:37.040> not<00:06:37.320> as<00:06:37.440> good<00:06:37.600> for<00:06:37.720> capitalism.

00:06:38.280 --> 00:06:41.800
It<00:06:38.360> makes<00:06:38.560> capitalism<00:06:39.200> brittle.<00:06:39.840> It<00:06:40.080> it<00:06:40.280> puts<00:06:40.600> it<00:06:40.680> at<00:06:40.800> risk.

00:06:41.800 --> 00:06:47.840
And<00:06:42.080> I<00:06:42.320> am<00:06:42.640> a<00:06:42.760> huge<00:06:43.360> fan<00:06:44.160> of<00:06:44.360> how<00:06:44.560> markets<00:06:46.040> entrepreneurship<00:06:46.480> can<00:06:46.600> solve<00:06:46.880> problems.

00:06:47.840 --> 00:06:50.240
And<00:06:48.000> that's<00:06:48.400> to<00:06:48.520> me<00:06:48.840> like<00:06:49.080> when<00:06:49.200> this<00:06:49.400> country<00:06:49.720> is<00:06:49.840> so<00:06:50.000> great.

00:06:50.240 --> 00:06:57.240
But<00:06:50.360> people<00:06:50.600> have<00:06:50.720> enough<00:06:51.120> money<00:06:52.120> when<00:06:52.240> the<00:06:52.360> economy<00:06:53.040> is<00:06:53.280> working<00:06:53.600> for<00:06:53.720> enough<00:06:54.000> of<00:06:54.120> us<00:06:54.240> to<00:06:54.320> participate<00:06:54.760> in<00:06:54.880> it,<00:06:55.040> you<00:06:55.120> get<00:06:55.280> better<00:06:55.520> ideas,<00:06:56.080> you<00:06:56.160> get<00:06:56.320> better<00:06:56.560> technological

00:06:57.240 --> 00:07:04.400
advancements.<00:06:58.440> You<00:06:58.520> know,<00:06:58.640> the<00:06:58.800> purpose<00:06:59.560> of<00:07:00.480> of<00:07:00.680> our<00:07:00.840> country<00:07:01.240> is<00:07:01.880> is<00:07:02.040> for<00:07:02.240> all<00:07:02.520> is<00:07:02.760> life,<00:07:03.040> liberty,<00:07:03.280> and<00:07:03.360> the<00:07:03.440> pursuit<00:07:03.720> of<00:07:03.800> happiness.

00:07:04.400 --> 00:07:06.520
It's<00:07:04.640> it's<00:07:04.840> the<00:07:04.919> ability<00:07:05.240> for<00:07:05.440> the<00:07:05.600> many<00:07:05.919> to<00:07:06.040> thrive.

00:07:06.520 --> 00:07:11.040
And<00:07:06.680> I<00:07:06.760> think<00:07:07.000> that<00:07:07.160> that<00:07:07.400> is<00:07:07.800> that<00:07:07.960> is<00:07:08.440> what<00:07:08.680> what<00:07:08.800> this<00:07:08.919> is<00:07:09.000> with<00:07:09.080> the<00:07:09.120> American<00:07:09.480> dream<00:07:10.600> is<00:07:10.720> about.

00:07:11.040 --> 00:07:18.120
It's<00:07:11.160> meant<00:07:11.360> to<00:07:11.440> be<00:07:12.080> a<00:07:12.160> motivate<00:07:12.640> a<00:07:12.720> motivator<00:07:13.360> to<00:07:13.480> do<00:07:13.760> all<00:07:13.960> the<00:07:14.080> things<00:07:14.400> that<00:07:14.880> produce<00:07:15.200> new<00:07:15.280> technology<00:07:16.000> and<00:07:16.520> new<00:07:16.720> ways<00:07:16.960> of<00:07:17.080> being.

00:07:18.120 --> 00:07:22.800
And<00:07:18.240> I<00:07:18.520> I<00:07:18.600> think<00:07:18.960> the<00:07:19.120> good<00:07:19.320> news<00:07:19.600> is<00:07:20.360> it's<00:07:20.720> it<00:07:20.919> feels<00:07:21.160> like<00:07:21.360> it's<00:07:22.040> it's<00:07:22.200> getting<00:07:22.440> harder.

00:07:22.800 --> 00:07:25.000
It<00:07:23.000> is.<00:07:23.480> But<00:07:23.600> I<00:07:23.680> think<00:07:23.840> there's<00:07:24.000> a<00:07:24.040> real<00:07:24.280> way<00:07:24.520> out<00:07:24.720> of<00:07:24.840> it.

00:07:25.000 --> 00:07:31.280
That's<00:07:25.215> part<00:07:25.430> of<00:07:25.644> why<00:07:25.859> I<00:07:26.074> built<00:07:26.289> WorkMoney.<00:07:26.504> But<00:07:26.719> before<00:07:26.933> I<00:07:27.148> talk<00:07:27.363> about<00:07:27.578> like<00:07:27.793> kind<00:07:28.007> of<00:07:28.222> why<00:07:28.437> and<00:07:28.652> how<00:07:28.867> I<00:07:29.081> built<00:07:29.296> WorkMoney,<00:07:29.511> let<00:07:29.726> me<00:07:29.941> just<00:07:30.156> say<00:07:30.370> like<00:07:30.585> the<00:07:30.800> numbers

00:07:31.280 --> 00:07:36.760
really<00:07:31.480> bear<00:07:31.640> this<00:07:31.880> out.<00:07:32.040> There's<00:07:32.200> this<00:07:32.440> really<00:07:32.840> interesting<00:07:33.360> study<00:07:33.720> by<00:07:33.880> the<00:07:34.040> RAND<00:07:34.400> Corporation<00:07:35.080> which<00:07:35.240> came<00:07:35.440> out<00:07:35.560> in<00:07:35.600> 2018.

00:07:36.760 --> 00:07:41.200
And<00:07:36.840> for<00:07:36.919> those<00:07:37.040> who<00:07:37.120> don't<00:07:37.240> know,<00:07:37.360> they're<00:07:37.480> like<00:07:37.720> a<00:07:38.200> they<00:07:38.760> specialize<00:07:39.200> in<00:07:39.280> defense<00:07:39.760> contracting<00:07:40.360> and<00:07:40.440> national<00:07:40.680> security.

00:07:41.200 --> 00:07:44.400
And<00:07:41.280> then<00:07:41.360> they<00:07:41.440> started<00:07:41.720> doing<00:07:41.919> some<00:07:42.040> other<00:07:42.200> kinds<00:07:42.520> of<00:07:42.600> things<00:07:42.960> just<00:07:43.120> to<00:07:43.160> talk<00:07:43.400> about<00:07:43.680> national<00:07:43.960> security.

00:07:44.400 --> 00:07:53.080
So,<00:07:44.480> I<00:07:44.560> studied<00:07:44.960> the<00:07:45.080> economy<00:07:46.440> and<00:07:46.560> they<00:07:46.640> took<00:07:46.840> a<00:07:46.920> look<00:07:47.120> and<00:07:47.200> they<00:07:47.280> found<00:07:47.640> that<00:07:47.760> if<00:07:48.480> if<00:07:48.680> the<00:07:48.800> working<00:07:49.080> and<00:07:49.160> middle-class<00:07:49.680> folks<00:07:50.080> like<00:07:50.320> us<00:07:50.560> had<00:07:51.200> had<00:07:51.440> kept<00:07:51.760> the<00:07:51.840> same<00:07:52.200> share

00:07:53.080 --> 00:08:01.120
of<00:07:53.280> profit<00:07:53.640> and<00:07:53.720> productivity<00:07:54.280> that<00:07:54.440> we<00:07:54.560> had<00:07:54.880> back<00:07:55.120> in<00:07:55.200> the<00:07:55.280> early<00:07:55.520> '70s,<00:07:56.080> so<00:07:56.240> the<00:07:56.440> pie<00:07:57.400> grew<00:07:58.600> with<00:07:58.920> and<00:07:59.000> we<00:07:59.080> grew<00:07:59.280> with<00:07:59.400> the<00:07:59.480> same<00:07:59.840> same<00:08:00.080> share<00:08:00.320> of<00:08:00.400> the<00:08:00.480> pie,<00:08:00.840> like<00:08:00.960> from

00:08:01.120 --> 00:08:07.520
this<00:08:01.320> to<00:08:01.440> this,<00:08:01.560> but<00:08:01.680> we<00:08:01.760> kept<00:08:02.000> our<00:08:02.080> same<00:08:02.360> slice,<00:08:03.520> the<00:08:03.960> the<00:08:04.240> average<00:08:04.640> person's<00:08:05.160> income<00:08:05.520> would<00:08:05.640> be<00:08:05.760> double<00:08:06.120> what<00:08:06.240> it<00:08:06.360> is<00:08:06.520> today.

00:08:07.520 --> 00:08:15.040
And<00:08:07.960> I'm<00:08:08.080> not<00:08:08.560> suggesting<00:08:09.200> that<00:08:09.320> there's<00:08:09.640> anything<00:08:10.200> wrong<00:08:10.720> with<00:08:10.880> people<00:08:11.680> getting<00:08:12.000> rich<00:08:12.280> and<00:08:12.360> building<00:08:12.640> companies<00:08:13.120> and<00:08:13.240> building<00:08:13.560> wealth<00:08:13.760> for<00:08:13.880> themselves.

00:08:15.040 --> 00:08:23.440
I<00:08:15.200> am<00:08:15.440> saying<00:08:15.800> that<00:08:16.320> the<00:08:16.440> incentives<00:08:16.960> are<00:08:17.080> kind<00:08:17.320> of<00:08:17.440> jacked<00:08:17.760> up<00:08:18.120> now<00:08:18.640> that<00:08:18.880> we've<00:08:19.160> we've<00:08:19.560> we've<00:08:19.760> created<00:08:20.080> a<00:08:20.160> system<00:08:20.640> where<00:08:21.400> it's<00:08:22.000> uh<00:08:22.080> where<00:08:22.440> where<00:08:22.840> if<00:08:23.040> most

00:08:23.440 --> 00:08:28.960
of<00:08:23.520> that<00:08:23.720> wealth<00:08:23.960> is<00:08:24.040> going<00:08:24.320> towards<00:08:24.640> fewer<00:08:24.880> people,<00:08:25.240> it<00:08:25.320> makes<00:08:25.520> it<00:08:25.640> harder<00:08:25.919> for<00:08:26.000> the<00:08:26.080> rest<00:08:26.320> of<00:08:26.400> us<00:08:26.480> to<00:08:26.560> succeed,<00:08:26.960> and<00:08:27.040> that<00:08:27.240> means<00:08:27.440> we<00:08:27.520> get<00:08:27.720> worse<00:08:27.960> ideas,<00:08:28.400> we<00:08:28.520> get<00:08:28.800> more

00:08:28.960 --> 00:08:37.280
fragile<00:08:29.320> markets,<00:08:29.880> we<00:08:29.960> get<00:08:30.520> all<00:08:30.720> kinds<00:08:31.160> of<00:08:31.240> things<00:08:31.520> that<00:08:31.680> aren't<00:08:31.960> really<00:08:32.200> meant<00:08:33.039> um<00:08:33.360> I<00:08:33.479> think<00:08:33.840> that<00:08:34.000> don't<00:08:34.280> help<00:08:34.479> build<00:08:34.840> like<00:08:35.000> a<00:08:35.080> stable<00:08:36.200> a<00:08:36.240> stable<00:08:36.479> America.

00:08:37.280 --> 00:08:42.280
And<00:08:37.440> so,<00:08:37.800> when<00:08:38.200> COVID<00:08:38.599> happened<00:08:38.960> and<00:08:39.039> everyone's<00:08:39.400> money<00:08:39.719> turned<00:08:40.039> inside<00:08:40.440> out,<00:08:41.039> and<00:08:41.120> people<00:08:41.360> were<00:08:41.479> like,<00:08:41.719> "Oh,<00:08:41.919> I<00:08:41.960> don't<00:08:42.120> know.

00:08:42.280 --> 00:08:44.880
How<00:08:42.400> do<00:08:42.479> we<00:08:43.000> How<00:08:43.080> do<00:08:43.159> I<00:08:43.280> do<00:08:43.560> this?<00:08:43.800> What<00:08:43.880> do<00:08:43.960> I<00:08:44.039> do<00:08:44.120> with<00:08:44.240> money?"

00:08:44.880 --> 00:08:50.800
I<00:08:44.960> just<00:08:45.160> made<00:08:45.320> a<00:08:45.520> simple<00:08:45.800> website<00:08:46.240> to<00:08:46.280> help<00:08:46.440> explain<00:08:46.800> to<00:08:46.880> folks<00:08:47.160> like<00:08:47.320> here's<00:08:47.560> how<00:08:47.680> it<00:08:47.800> works<00:08:48.160> and<00:08:48.240> here's<00:08:48.400> what<00:08:48.480> a<00:08:48.520> stimulus<00:08:48.960> check<00:08:49.240> is<00:08:49.560> and<00:08:49.680> here's<00:08:49.960> how<00:08:50.080> that<00:08:50.400> policy

00:08:50.800 --> 00:08:54.839
might<00:08:51.040> work<00:08:51.360> and<00:08:51.440> here's<00:08:51.600> what<00:08:51.720> you<00:08:51.800> can<00:08:51.920> do<00:08:52.040> with<00:08:52.200> it,<00:08:52.720> and<00:08:52.800> it<00:08:52.880> just<00:08:53.000> kind<00:08:53.160> of<00:08:53.240> exploded<00:08:53.839> from<00:08:53.960> there.

00:08:54.839 --> 00:08:57.480
And<00:08:54.920> that<00:08:55.040> turns<00:08:55.360> out<00:08:55.640> that<00:08:55.880> everybody<00:08:56.360> likes<00:08:56.720> money.

00:08:57.480 --> 00:09:04.920
And<00:08:57.739> so,<00:08:57.999> the<00:08:58.258> moment<00:08:58.517> of<00:08:58.776> crisis<00:08:59.036> that<00:08:59.295> we<00:08:59.554> were<00:08:59.813> trying<00:09:00.073> to<00:09:00.332> manage<00:09:00.591> kind<00:09:00.850> of<00:09:01.110> became<00:09:01.369> like<00:09:01.628> the<00:09:01.887> the<00:09:02.147> need<00:09:02.406> for<00:09:02.665> WorkMoney,<00:09:02.924> which<00:09:03.184> is<00:09:03.443> the<00:09:03.702> name<00:09:03.961> of<00:09:04.221> my<00:09:04.480> organization,

00:09:04.920 --> 00:09:08.480
WorkMoney,<00:09:05.366> didn't<00:09:05.811> go<00:09:06.257> away<00:09:06.703> after<00:09:07.149> COVID<00:09:07.594> went<00:09:08.040> away.

00:09:08.480 --> 00:09:12.240
You<00:09:08.560> know,<00:09:08.839> folks<00:09:09.080> were<00:09:09.200> still<00:09:09.560> struggling<00:09:10.120> with<00:09:10.440> to<00:09:10.560> figure<00:09:10.839> out<00:09:11.000> what<00:09:11.120> the<00:09:11.240> right<00:09:11.440> money<00:09:11.600> decisions<00:09:12.080> are.

00:09:12.240 --> 00:09:14.440
People<00:09:12.480> still<00:09:12.960> want<00:09:13.760> to<00:09:13.880> succeed.

00:09:14.440 --> 00:09:21.839
They<00:09:14.640> are<00:09:14.800> still<00:09:15.080> willing<00:09:15.320> to<00:09:15.440> put<00:09:15.600> the<00:09:15.720> work<00:09:16.080> in<00:09:16.240> to<00:09:16.360> figure<00:09:16.760> out<00:09:17.440> how<00:09:17.560> to<00:09:17.760> earn<00:09:18.000> more,<00:09:18.360> how<00:09:18.520> to<00:09:18.720> spend<00:09:19.280> less,<00:09:19.760> and<00:09:20.000> and<00:09:20.360> and<00:09:20.520> how<00:09:20.640> to<00:09:20.800> use<00:09:21.000> their<00:09:21.120> collective<00:09:21.440> strength

00:09:21.839 --> 00:09:25.480
to<00:09:22.440> to<00:09:22.560> build,<00:09:23.040> you<00:09:23.120> know,<00:09:23.280> stronger<00:09:23.720> markets<00:09:24.280> and<00:09:24.360> a<00:09:24.400> better<00:09:24.640> America.

00:09:25.480 --> 00:09:31.480
And<00:09:25.640> so,<00:09:25.880> today<00:09:26.600> is<00:09:26.680> how<00:09:26.760> we<00:09:26.880> kind<00:09:27.040> of<00:09:27.120> went<00:09:27.280> from<00:09:27.480> zero<00:09:27.800> to<00:09:27.920> 9<00:09:28.240> million<00:09:28.680> in<00:09:28.920> in<00:09:29.320> just<00:09:29.600> a<00:09:30.000> a<00:09:30.080> handful<00:09:30.520> of<00:09:30.600> years.

00:09:31.480 --> 00:09:37.520
And<00:09:31.640> I<00:09:31.720> think<00:09:32.000> that<00:09:32.120> it's<00:09:33.200> the<00:09:33.320> way<00:09:33.600> out<00:09:34.480> is<00:09:34.839> kind<00:09:35.040> of<00:09:35.120> to<00:09:35.240> me<00:09:35.400> feels<00:09:35.680> pretty<00:09:35.960> obvious,<00:09:36.280> the<00:09:36.360> way<00:09:36.440> out<00:09:36.560> from<00:09:36.720> like<00:09:36.880> how<00:09:36.960> hard<00:09:37.160> things<00:09:37.400> are.

00:09:37.520 --> 00:09:44.240
Like<00:09:37.680> no<00:09:37.800> one's<00:09:38.040> coming<00:09:38.280> to<00:09:38.400> save<00:09:38.720> us.<00:09:39.520> There's<00:09:39.640> no<00:09:41.040> person<00:09:41.480> on<00:09:41.600> a<00:09:41.640> horse<00:09:42.000> going<00:09:42.120> to<00:09:42.200> show<00:09:42.600> up<00:09:42.880> and<00:09:43.000> say,<00:09:43.160> "Get<00:09:43.400> on,<00:09:43.640> I've<00:09:43.760> got<00:09:44.040> you."

00:09:44.240 --> 00:09:47.640
and<00:09:44.480> ride<00:09:44.720> us<00:09:44.880> off<00:09:45.040> into<00:09:45.160> the<00:09:45.240> sunset.<00:09:45.720> I<00:09:45.760> mean,<00:09:45.880> if<00:09:46.000> that<00:09:46.120> was<00:09:46.240> going<00:09:46.360> to<00:09:46.400> happen,<00:09:46.640> it<00:09:46.760> would<00:09:46.920> have.

00:09:47.640 --> 00:09:50.720
I<00:09:47.680> don't<00:09:47.840> believe<00:09:48.120> that<00:09:48.240> there's<00:09:49.400> a<00:09:49.520> company<00:09:49.920> that's<00:09:50.040> going<00:09:50.160> to<00:09:50.240> save<00:09:50.480> us.

00:09:50.720 --> 00:09:53.800
I<00:09:50.920> certainly<00:09:51.160> don't<00:09:51.320> believe<00:09:51.640> any<00:09:51.960> political<00:09:52.360> party<00:09:52.600> is<00:09:52.680> going<00:09:52.800> to<00:09:52.880> save<00:09:53.120> us<00:09:53.240> these<00:09:53.440> days.

00:09:53.800 --> 00:10:03.080
I<00:09:53.920> think<00:09:54.240> that<00:09:54.480> we<00:09:54.800> I<00:09:54.880> think<00:09:55.120> it's<00:09:55.280> us.<00:09:56.160> And<00:09:56.400> so,<00:09:56.600> we<00:09:56.760> just<00:09:56.920> have<00:09:57.040> to<00:09:57.560> get<00:09:57.760> ourselves<00:09:58.120> together,<00:09:58.600> figure<00:09:59.120> out<00:09:59.480> what<00:09:59.680> we<00:10:00.160> think<00:10:00.480> is<00:10:00.640> a<00:10:00.760> reasonable<00:10:01.360> expectation,<00:10:02.920> which

00:10:03.080 --> 00:10:10.760
I<00:10:03.160> think<00:10:03.440> we<00:10:03.680> know.<00:10:04.200> I<00:10:04.280> think<00:10:04.640> we<00:10:04.800> all<00:10:05.040> know<00:10:05.320> hard<00:10:05.680> work<00:10:05.960> should<00:10:06.120> produce<00:10:06.440> a<00:10:06.480> good<00:10:06.680> life,<00:10:06.960> but<00:10:07.200> I<00:10:07.280> think<00:10:07.920> I<00:10:08.040> might<00:10:08.320> like<00:10:08.520> a<00:10:08.560> good<00:10:08.800> life<00:10:09.000> My<00:10:09.200> good<00:10:09.360> life<00:10:09.600> might<00:10:09.800> be<00:10:10.360> a<00:10:10.440> ball

00:10:10.760 --> 00:10:14.400
game<00:10:11.040> and<00:10:11.160> a<00:10:11.200> beer<00:10:11.480> every<00:10:11.640> so<00:10:11.840> often.<00:10:12.200> Yours<00:10:12.520> might<00:10:12.760> be,<00:10:12.960> I<00:10:13.040> don't<00:10:13.200> know,<00:10:13.360> going<00:10:13.600> to<00:10:13.680> the<00:10:13.760> Met<00:10:14.040> or<00:10:14.120> something.

00:10:14.400 --> 00:10:18.400
I<00:10:14.440> don't<00:10:14.600> know<00:10:14.680> what<00:10:14.840> you<00:10:14.920> do<00:10:15.080> for<00:10:15.240> fun.<00:10:15.960> But,<00:10:16.200> well,<00:10:16.320> you're<00:10:16.520> in<00:10:16.640> Utah,<00:10:17.040> so<00:10:17.160> it's<00:10:17.280> probably<00:10:17.520> not<00:10:17.680> going<00:10:17.800> to<00:10:17.880> the<00:10:17.960> Met.

00:10:18.400 --> 00:10:23.760
I'm<00:10:18.560> not<00:10:18.760> sure<00:10:18.920> in<00:10:19.000> this<00:10:19.200> hoodie<00:10:19.720> that<00:10:19.960> I'm<00:10:20.240> going<00:10:20.520> to<00:10:20.600> the<00:10:20.680> Met<00:10:21.000> anytime<00:10:21.440> soon,<00:10:21.840> but<00:10:22.640> I<00:10:22.760> hear<00:10:22.960> what<00:10:23.080> you're<00:10:23.200> saying.

00:10:23.760 --> 00:10:28.360
You<00:10:23.800> know<00:10:23.920> what<00:10:24.040> I<00:10:24.120> mean?<00:10:24.320> Maybe,<00:10:25.000> maybe<00:10:25.320> yours<00:10:25.800> is,<00:10:26.000> I<00:10:26.040> don't<00:10:26.200> know,<00:10:26.400> ice<00:10:26.720> skating<00:10:27.280> in<00:10:27.400> Provo<00:10:27.920> or<00:10:28.040> something.

Skiing<00:10:39.440> is<00:10:39.520> a<00:10:39.560> big<00:10:39.760> deal.<00:10:40.080> Skiing<00:10:40.640> and<00:10:40.839> snowboarding<00:10:41.520> and<00:10:41.800> and<00:10:41.960> things<00:10:42.240> like<00:10:42.400> that.

Yeah.<00:10:43.280> Yeah.<00:10:43.960> We<00:10:44.080> now<00:10:44.240> have<00:10:44.360> a<00:10:44.400> hockey<00:10:44.680> team<00:10:44.880> though,<00:10:45.080> so<00:10:45.240> there<00:10:45.400> is<00:10:45.520> a<00:10:45.560> bit<00:10:45.680> of<00:10:45.800> hockey<00:10:46.080> culture<00:10:46.400> developing.

00:10:46.600 --> 00:10:52.600
Hey,<00:10:46.800> congrats.<00:10:47.520> I<00:10:47.600> live<00:10:47.760> in<00:10:47.920> Oregon,<00:10:48.400> so<00:10:48.600> also<00:10:49.000> we're<00:10:49.120> big<00:10:49.360> with<00:10:49.480> the<00:10:49.560> skiing<00:10:49.960> and<00:10:50.040> the<00:10:50.640> the<00:10:50.800> outdoors<00:10:51.320> and<00:10:51.440> the<00:10:51.480> Oregon's<00:10:51.720> beautiful.

00:10:52.600 --> 00:10:56.839
Uh,<00:10:52.920> I<00:10:53.000> mean,<00:10:53.160> Utah<00:10:53.480> is<00:10:53.600> not<00:10:53.760> exactly<00:10:54.240> slacking<00:10:54.680> in<00:10:54.760> the<00:10:54.839> beauty<00:10:55.080> department,<00:10:55.640> but<00:10:55.839> I<00:10:55.920> hear<00:10:56.240> you.

00:10:56.839 --> 00:11:00.600
You<00:10:56.960> know,<00:10:57.560> so<00:10:57.680> whatever<00:10:57.960> your<00:10:58.080> good<00:10:58.240> life<00:10:58.480> is,<00:10:58.680> maybe<00:10:58.920> it's<00:10:59.120> skiing<00:10:59.480> every<00:10:59.720> so<00:10:59.920> often.

00:11:00.600 --> 00:11:03.360
I<00:11:00.680> don't<00:11:00.800> know,<00:11:01.120> you<00:11:01.200> know,<00:11:01.320> for<00:11:01.440> me<00:11:01.680> again,<00:11:02.000> it's<00:11:02.160> like<00:11:02.360> I<00:11:02.400> like<00:11:02.640> to<00:11:02.720> go<00:11:02.800> to<00:11:02.880> ball<00:11:03.040> games.

00:11:03.360 --> 00:11:06.800
I<00:11:03.400> like<00:11:03.640> to<00:11:04.000> drink<00:11:04.240> beer.<00:11:04.480> I<00:11:04.520> like<00:11:04.720> to<00:11:04.800> go,<00:11:05.040> you<00:11:05.120> know,<00:11:05.160> I<00:11:05.200> like<00:11:05.360> to<00:11:05.440> hang<00:11:05.600> out<00:11:05.680> with<00:11:05.800> my<00:11:05.880> family.

00:11:06.800 --> 00:11:11.560
We<00:11:06.920> should<00:11:07.160> all<00:11:07.360> be<00:11:07.520> able<00:11:07.800> to<00:11:07.960> put<00:11:08.200> hard<00:11:08.480> work<00:11:09.000> in<00:11:09.520> and<00:11:10.040> make<00:11:10.320> enough<00:11:10.640> to<00:11:10.720> do<00:11:10.839> those<00:11:11.040> things.

00:11:11.560 --> 00:11:15.560
And<00:11:11.720> there<00:11:11.839> is<00:11:12.000> enough.<00:11:12.520> And<00:11:12.640> so,<00:11:12.720> here's<00:11:13.040> the<00:11:13.240> here's<00:11:13.520> what<00:11:13.680> I<00:11:13.760> think<00:11:14.080> the<00:11:14.160> path<00:11:14.480> out<00:11:14.680> is.

00:11:15.560 --> 00:11:21.640
We're<00:11:15.640> not<00:11:15.839> waiting<00:11:16.040> for<00:11:16.160> somebody<00:11:16.360> to<00:11:16.440> come<00:11:16.600> save<00:11:16.880> us.<00:11:17.720> We<00:11:17.800> got<00:11:17.960> to<00:11:18.120> pull<00:11:18.440> our<00:11:18.520> chair<00:11:18.760> up<00:11:18.839> to<00:11:18.920> the<00:11:19.000> table<00:11:19.320> where<00:11:19.400> decisions<00:11:19.880> get<00:11:20.080> made,<00:11:20.520> where<00:11:20.720> companies<00:11:21.280> are<00:11:21.360> looking

00:11:21.640 --> 00:11:27.440
for<00:11:21.760> markets,<00:11:22.520> where<00:11:22.960> I<00:11:23.080> don't<00:11:23.360> care<00:11:23.600> what<00:11:23.760> political<00:11:24.080> party<00:11:24.360> you're<00:11:24.440> in,<00:11:24.520> elected<00:11:24.800> leaders<00:11:25.040> of<00:11:25.120> either<00:11:25.320> party<00:11:25.680> are<00:11:25.760> trying<00:11:26.000> to<00:11:26.080> figure<00:11:26.440> out<00:11:26.560> what,<00:11:27.000> what<00:11:27.160> to<00:11:27.240> do.

00:11:27.440 --> 00:11:36.160
I<00:11:27.520> think<00:11:27.800> we<00:11:27.960> know<00:11:28.160> what<00:11:28.320> we<00:11:28.480> want.<00:11:29.120> Wages<00:11:29.520> that<00:11:30.120> are<00:11:30.400> that<00:11:30.600> allow<00:11:30.880> us<00:11:31.000> to<00:11:31.160> buy<00:11:31.480> homes,<00:11:32.680> wages<00:11:33.000> that<00:11:33.120> allow<00:11:33.440> us<00:11:33.560> to<00:11:33.720> afford<00:11:34.320> healthy<00:11:34.680> good<00:11:34.960> food,<00:11:35.760> schools

00:11:36.160 --> 00:11:38.440
our<00:11:36.280> kids<00:11:36.520> can<00:11:36.640> go<00:11:36.800> to.<00:11:36.880> I<00:11:36.920> mean,<00:11:37.040> the<00:11:37.120> list<00:11:37.360> is<00:11:37.520> pretty<00:11:37.800> obvious.

00:11:38.440 --> 00:11:40.560
And<00:11:38.658> I<00:11:38.876> think<00:11:39.093> that,<00:11:39.311> you<00:11:39.529> know,<00:11:39.747> that's<00:11:39.964> what<00:11:40.182> WorkMoney<00:11:40.400> is.

00:11:40.560 --> 00:11:45.120
WorkMoney<00:11:40.795> is<00:11:41.030> meant<00:11:41.265> to<00:11:41.500> be<00:11:41.735> a<00:11:41.970> market<00:11:42.205> so<00:11:42.440> that<00:11:42.675> we<00:11:42.910> can<00:11:43.145> bargain<00:11:43.380> for<00:11:43.615> cheaper<00:11:43.850> goods<00:11:44.085> and<00:11:44.320> services.

00:11:45.120 --> 00:11:51.280
WorkMoney<00:11:45.376> is<00:11:45.633> also<00:11:45.889> meant<00:11:46.145> to<00:11:46.402> be<00:11:46.658> a<00:11:46.915> way<00:11:47.171> that<00:11:47.427> we<00:11:47.684> can<00:11:47.940> use<00:11:48.196> our<00:11:48.453> collective<00:11:48.709> power<00:11:48.965> to<00:11:49.222> engage<00:11:49.478> with<00:11:49.735> business<00:11:49.991> leaders<00:11:50.247> and<00:11:50.504> government<00:11:50.760> leaders.

00:11:51.280 --> 00:11:53.720
And<00:11:52.040> this<00:11:52.160> is<00:11:52.200> my<00:11:52.320> favorite<00:11:52.600> part<00:11:52.840> right<00:11:53.000> now.

00:11:53.720 --> 00:11:56.880
I<00:11:53.917> think<00:11:54.114> WorkMoney<00:11:54.311> is<00:11:54.508> a<00:11:54.705> place<00:11:54.902> where<00:11:55.098> we're<00:11:55.295> inventing<00:11:55.492> our<00:11:55.689> own<00:11:55.886> products<00:11:56.083> and<00:11:56.280> services.

00:11:56.880 --> 00:12:04.600
We're<00:11:57.174> going<00:11:57.469> to<00:11:57.763> launch<00:11:58.058> some<00:11:58.352> stuff<00:11:58.646> in<00:11:58.941> the<00:11:59.235> next<00:11:59.530> year<00:11:59.824> where<00:12:00.118> we're<00:12:00.413> really<00:12:00.707> going<00:12:01.002> to<00:12:01.296> try<00:12:01.590> to<00:12:01.885> help<00:12:02.179> bargain<00:12:02.474> for<00:12:02.768> lower<00:12:03.062> cell<00:12:03.357> phone,<00:12:03.651> cable,<00:12:03.946> internet<00:12:04.240> bills

00:12:04.600 --> 00:12:09.360
for<00:12:04.720> people<00:12:05.160> at<00:12:05.240> the<00:12:05.320> individual<00:12:05.800> level.<00:12:06.520> And<00:12:06.640> I<00:12:06.720> think<00:12:06.960> the<00:12:07.480> the<00:12:07.600> sky's<00:12:07.960> the<00:12:08.040> limit.

00:12:09.360 --> 00:12:13.920
Can<00:12:09.560> I<00:12:09.640> ask<00:12:09.920> you<00:12:10.120> why<00:12:11.000> it's<00:12:11.200> a<00:12:11.240> non-profit<00:12:11.920> versus<00:12:12.280> a<00:12:12.360> for-profit?

00:12:13.920 --> 00:12:21.000
You<00:12:14.080> can.<00:12:15.280> Um<00:12:16.440> when<00:12:16.760> I<00:12:16.840> thought<00:12:17.120> about<00:12:17.520> how<00:12:17.600> to<00:12:17.720> do<00:12:17.920> this<00:12:18.120> initially<00:12:18.560> in<00:12:18.680> COVID,<00:12:19.360> a<00:12:19.440> non-profit<00:12:19.920> made<00:12:20.080> a<00:12:20.120> lot<00:12:20.320> of<00:12:20.440> sense.

00:12:21.000 --> 00:12:26.000
Yeah.<00:12:21.400> Uh<00:12:21.680> because<00:12:22.200> I<00:12:22.320> wanted<00:12:22.640> a<00:12:22.680> place<00:12:23.000> that<00:12:23.120> people<00:12:23.440> could<00:12:23.680> trust<00:12:24.320> the<00:12:24.440> information<00:12:24.880> that<00:12:25.000> they<00:12:25.120> were<00:12:25.200> getting.

00:12:26.000 --> 00:12:28.960
And<00:12:26.400> the<00:12:26.480> profit<00:12:27.040> profit,<00:12:27.400> which<00:12:27.560> by<00:12:27.680> the<00:12:27.800> way,<00:12:27.920> I'm<00:12:28.080> a<00:12:28.120> big<00:12:28.360> fan<00:12:28.520> of<00:12:28.600> profit.

00:12:28.960 --> 00:12:33.800
We<00:12:29.200> We<00:12:29.320> do<00:12:29.400> have<00:12:29.560> a<00:12:29.640> for-profit<00:12:30.160> subsidiary<00:12:30.720> where<00:12:30.840> we're<00:12:30.920> going<00:12:31.040> to<00:12:31.120> be<00:12:32.040> launching<00:12:32.440> products<00:12:32.720> and<00:12:32.800> services<00:12:33.200> out<00:12:33.360> of.

00:12:33.800 --> 00:12:42.080
But<00:12:33.920> it's<00:12:34.120> owned<00:12:34.360> by<00:12:34.480> the<00:12:34.600> non-profit<00:12:35.080> 'cause<00:12:35.200> I<00:12:35.280> wanted<00:12:35.760> everyone,<00:12:36.760> myself<00:12:37.160> included,<00:12:37.480> to<00:12:37.640> really<00:12:38.040> understand<00:12:39.040> that<00:12:39.160> the<00:12:39.280> goal<00:12:39.640> of<00:12:39.760> this<00:12:40.600> is<00:12:40.880> a<00:12:41.000> good<00:12:41.160> economy<00:12:41.600> for<00:12:41.880> for

00:12:42.080 --> 00:12:46.720
for<00:12:42.280> everybody.<00:12:42.800> That<00:12:42.920> you<00:12:43.000> can<00:12:43.240> trust<00:12:44.280> who's<00:12:44.520> talking<00:12:44.880> to<00:12:45.040> you<00:12:45.400> and<00:12:45.640> where<00:12:45.800> it's<00:12:45.920> coming<00:12:46.200> from.

00:12:46.720 --> 00:12:54.839
I<00:12:46.760> don't<00:12:46.880> mean<00:12:47.000> to<00:12:47.120> imply<00:12:47.440> that<00:12:47.960> for-profit<00:12:48.480> businesses<00:12:49.000> are<00:12:49.120> untrustworthy,<00:12:50.080> but<00:12:50.760> uh<00:12:50.880> uh<00:12:51.240> our<00:12:51.400> motives,<00:12:52.320> our<00:12:52.480> mission<00:12:53.200> is<00:12:53.400> baked<00:12:53.839> into<00:12:54.200> the<00:12:54.360> DNA<00:12:54.720> of

00:12:54.839 --> 00:13:01.680
our<00:12:54.920> organization.<00:12:55.640> Like,<00:12:55.880> our<00:12:56.120> job<00:12:56.680> is<00:12:56.800> to<00:12:56.920> make<00:12:57.160> sure<00:12:57.400> that<00:12:57.560> our<00:12:57.680> members<00:12:58.400> and<00:12:58.480> then<00:12:58.600> eventually<00:12:58.880> America<00:12:59.720> are<00:12:59.880> increasing<00:13:00.400> their<00:13:00.520> financial<00:13:00.880> security.

00:13:01.680 --> 00:13:03.760
We<00:13:01.760> don't<00:13:01.960> have<00:13:02.160> any<00:13:02.360> other<00:13:02.600> motives<00:13:03.040> other<00:13:03.240> than<00:13:03.400> that.

00:13:03.760 --> 00:13:07.600
And<00:13:03.880> so,<00:13:04.000> I<00:13:04.080> wanted<00:13:04.360> to<00:13:04.520> create<00:13:04.800> something<00:13:05.040> that<00:13:05.160> people<00:13:05.440> knew<00:13:05.560> they<00:13:05.680> could<00:13:06.000> they<00:13:06.120> could<00:13:06.240> trust.

00:13:07.600 --> 00:13:09.640
Yeah.<00:13:08.080> Yeah,<00:13:08.360> a<00:13:08.480> non-profit<00:13:09.080> obviously<00:13:09.360> does<00:13:09.520> that.

00:13:09.640 --> 00:13:13.160
I<00:13:09.720> run<00:13:09.880> a<00:13:09.920> non-profit<00:13:10.440> as<00:13:10.600> well,<00:13:10.920> and<00:13:11.080> there's<00:13:11.440> a<00:13:11.480> lot<00:13:11.640> of<00:13:11.760> uses<00:13:12.240> for<00:13:12.360> that.

00:13:13.160 --> 00:13:16.440
And<00:13:13.520> how<00:13:13.680> did<00:13:13.920> you<00:13:14.320> Like,<00:13:14.520> what<00:13:14.640> does<00:13:14.760> it<00:13:14.880> mean<00:13:15.080> to<00:13:15.160> be<00:13:15.320> a<00:13:15.360> member?

00:13:16.440 --> 00:13:20.920
How<00:13:16.560> did<00:13:16.760> you<00:13:16.880> grow<00:13:17.200> the<00:13:17.320> membership?<00:13:18.200> It<00:13:18.320> sounds<00:13:18.560> like<00:13:18.680> it<00:13:18.800> kind<00:13:19.000> of<00:13:19.080> started<00:13:19.400> out<00:13:19.480> as<00:13:19.560> like<00:13:19.760> almost<00:13:20.000> like<00:13:20.160> a<00:13:20.200> blog.

00:13:20.920 --> 00:13:23.920
Is<00:13:21.040> it<00:13:21.120> Is<00:13:21.240> that<00:13:21.400> a<00:13:21.440> kind<00:13:21.640> of<00:13:21.720> a<00:13:21.800> fair<00:13:22.080> characterization?<00:13:23.480> Yeah,<00:13:23.680> totally.

00:13:23.920 --> 00:13:31.040
It's<00:13:24.000> a<00:13:24.040> website,<00:13:24.600> and<00:13:24.680> then<00:13:24.880> we<00:13:25.000> We<00:13:25.120> a<00:13:25.160> lot<00:13:25.280> of<00:13:25.320> questions,<00:13:25.800> so<00:13:25.920> then<00:13:26.040> we<00:13:26.160> made<00:13:26.400> a<00:13:26.600> sign-up<00:13:27.000> form<00:13:27.360> where<00:13:27.480> you<00:13:27.560> can<00:13:27.720> sign<00:13:28.000> up<00:13:28.240> and<00:13:28.760> you<00:13:28.840> know,<00:13:28.960> we<00:13:29.840> because<00:13:30.120> of<00:13:30.200> the<00:13:30.280> way<00:13:30.480> that

00:13:31.040 --> 00:13:39.000
um<00:13:31.960> we<00:13:32.040> were<00:13:32.160> communicating,<00:13:33.200> uh<00:13:33.360> people<00:13:33.640> signed<00:13:33.960> up<00:13:34.200> and<00:13:34.280> they<00:13:34.360> gave<00:13:34.520> us<00:13:34.600> their<00:13:34.760> phone<00:13:35.000> number,<00:13:35.200> their<00:13:35.440> email,<00:13:36.480> um<00:13:36.840> and<00:13:37.160> kind<00:13:37.320> of<00:13:37.400> their<00:13:37.520> zip<00:13:37.720> code<00:13:37.960> so<00:13:38.080> we<00:13:38.160> could<00:13:38.520> provide

00:13:39.000 --> 00:13:42.240
like,<00:13:39.480> you<00:13:39.600> know,<00:13:40.160> geographically<00:13:40.760> tailored<00:13:41.280> information<00:13:41.800> and<00:13:41.920> help.

00:13:42.240 --> 00:13:50.520
And<00:13:42.320> then<00:13:42.560> it<00:13:42.720> kind<00:13:42.880> of<00:13:43.040> just<00:13:43.280> grew.<00:13:44.080> And<00:13:44.320> so<00:13:44.480> we<00:13:45.360> uh<00:13:45.720> there<00:13:45.880> was<00:13:46.200> some<00:13:46.800> uh<00:13:46.920> philanthropy<00:13:47.640> was<00:13:47.920> was<00:13:48.080> willing<00:13:48.280> to<00:13:48.360> support<00:13:48.760> us<00:13:48.960> and<00:13:49.080> so<00:13:49.640> raised<00:13:49.920> a<00:13:49.960> little<00:13:50.080> bit<00:13:50.200> of<00:13:50.280> money

00:13:50.520 --> 00:13:56.960
so<00:13:50.640> that<00:13:50.760> we<00:13:50.800> could<00:13:50.960> text<00:13:51.240> with<00:13:51.360> people.<00:13:51.800> So<00:13:51.920> right<00:13:52.080> now<00:13:52.240> being<00:13:52.440> a<00:13:52.480> member<00:13:52.800> mostly<00:13:53.200> means<00:13:54.080> that<00:13:54.320> we<00:13:54.440> text<00:13:54.960> you<00:13:55.040> and<00:13:55.120> we<00:13:55.200> email<00:13:55.560> you<00:13:55.640> and<00:13:55.760> we<00:13:55.880> call<00:13:56.120> you<00:13:56.240> one-on-one.

00:13:56.960 --> 00:14:04.080
And<00:13:57.080> we<00:13:57.240> and<00:13:57.400> we<00:13:57.520> know<00:13:58.080> typically<00:13:58.600> when<00:13:58.800> you<00:13:58.880> join<00:13:59.200> us,<00:13:59.840> you<00:14:00.040> joined<00:14:00.400> us<00:14:00.520> because<00:14:00.840> you<00:14:00.960> care<00:14:01.120> about<00:14:01.280> a<00:14:01.320> particular<00:14:01.840> issue,<00:14:02.080> like<00:14:02.280> you've<00:14:02.400> seen<00:14:02.600> one<00:14:02.720> of<00:14:02.800> our<00:14:02.920> posts<00:14:03.320> on

00:14:04.080 --> 00:14:06.200
a<00:14:04.120> social<00:14:04.400> media<00:14:04.720> platform<00:14:05.280> or<00:14:05.400> a<00:14:05.440> friend<00:14:05.760> talked<00:14:06.000> to<00:14:06.080> you.

00:14:06.200 --> 00:14:14.840
So<00:14:06.320> you<00:14:06.360> usually<00:14:06.640> come<00:14:06.880> in<00:14:07.000> a<00:14:07.040> door<00:14:07.840> where<00:14:08.000> you<00:14:08.200> are<00:14:08.360> looking<00:14:08.720> for<00:14:08.840> help<00:14:09.040> with<00:14:09.160> a<00:14:09.240> specific<00:14:09.880> thing,<00:14:10.240> like<00:14:11.160> uh<00:14:12.120> uh<00:14:12.320> food<00:14:12.640> costs<00:14:13.440> or<00:14:14.360> understanding

00:14:14.840 --> 00:14:22.760
how<00:14:14.960> credit<00:14:15.360> debt<00:14:15.640> works<00:14:16.360> or<00:14:17.200> um<00:14:18.080> you<00:14:18.120> know,<00:14:18.240> some<00:14:18.440> cases<00:14:18.800> for<00:14:18.920> our<00:14:19.040> senior<00:14:19.360> members<00:14:19.720> is<00:14:19.840> prescription<00:14:20.320> drug<00:14:20.560> costs<00:14:21.040> or<00:14:21.160> navigating<00:14:21.560> social<00:14:21.760> security<00:14:22.240> or<00:14:22.320> Medicare

00:14:22.760 --> 00:14:26.720
issues.<00:14:23.560> And<00:14:23.680> so<00:14:23.800> when<00:14:23.960> you<00:14:24.040> come<00:14:24.280> in<00:14:24.360> that<00:14:24.560> way,<00:14:24.720> we<00:14:25.000> we<00:14:25.120> kind<00:14:25.320> of<00:14:25.360> know<00:14:25.520> a<00:14:25.560> lot<00:14:25.760> about<00:14:25.960> what<00:14:26.160> what<00:14:26.280> matters<00:14:26.600> to<00:14:26.640> you.

00:14:26.720 --> 00:14:30.240
So<00:14:26.840> we<00:14:26.960> just<00:14:27.120> start<00:14:27.320> a<00:14:27.400> one-on-one<00:14:27.880> conversation<00:14:28.440> with<00:14:28.640> you<00:14:28.760> over<00:14:28.960> text<00:14:29.400> mostly.

00:14:30.240 --> 00:14:33.960
And<00:14:30.360> we<00:14:30.440> have<00:14:30.560> a<00:14:30.600> big<00:14:30.880> team<00:14:31.120> now,<00:14:31.360> we're<00:14:31.480> 100<00:14:32.080> people,<00:14:32.480> which<00:14:32.720> is<00:14:32.920> crazy.

00:14:33.960 --> 00:14:41.160
Um<00:14:34.160> and<00:14:34.480> we<00:14:34.720> make<00:14:34.960> sure<00:14:35.200> that<00:14:35.360> we<00:14:35.720> most<00:14:36.000> of<00:14:36.080> what<00:14:36.160> we<00:14:36.280> do<00:14:36.440> is<00:14:36.560> spent<00:14:36.839> trying<00:14:37.000> to<00:14:37.120> figure<00:14:37.440> out<00:14:37.640> how<00:14:37.839> we<00:14:38.040> give<00:14:38.240> people<00:14:38.520> the<00:14:38.640> information<00:14:39.800> or<00:14:39.960> access<00:14:40.320> to<00:14:40.440> products,<00:14:40.800> services,

00:14:41.160 --> 00:14:46.680
and<00:14:41.280> programs<00:14:41.680> that<00:14:41.839> they<00:14:41.960> need.<00:14:43.280> And<00:14:43.400> is<00:14:43.520> it<00:14:43.640> all<00:14:43.880> is<00:14:44.040> the<00:14:44.160> team<00:14:44.360> all<00:14:44.520> remote,<00:14:45.080> all<00:14:45.320> in<00:14:45.680> person?

00:14:46.680 --> 00:14:52.240
Yeah,<00:14:47.000> yeah,<00:14:47.280> it's<00:14:47.440> like<00:14:47.600> the<00:14:48.080> kind<00:14:48.280> of<00:14:48.360> the<00:14:49.200> because<00:14:49.320> of<00:14:49.400> COVID,<00:14:49.880> we're<00:14:50.040> all<00:14:50.440> over<00:14:50.600> the<00:14:50.680> place.

00:14:52.240 --> 00:14:59.520
So<00:14:52.400> how<00:14:52.560> have<00:14:52.720> you<00:14:52.839> thought<00:14:53.000> about<00:14:53.160> like<00:14:53.320> maintaining<00:14:53.839> culture<00:14:54.680> and<00:14:55.040> all<00:14:55.200> of<00:14:55.280> that<00:14:55.600> cuz<00:14:55.800> obviously,<00:14:56.240> you<00:14:56.320> know,<00:14:56.480> there's<00:14:56.680> a<00:14:56.760> huge<00:14:57.120> debate<00:14:57.560> like<00:14:58.160> COVID<00:14:58.520> it<00:14:58.600> was<00:14:58.720> necessary,

00:14:59.520 --> 00:15:05.400
post-COVID<00:15:00.480> a<00:15:00.560> lot<00:15:00.760> of<00:15:01.040> kind<00:15:01.240> of<00:15:01.560> gone<00:15:01.760> hybrid,<00:15:02.920> uh<00:15:03.480> or<00:15:04.200> entirely<00:15:04.760> back<00:15:04.960> to<00:15:05.080> work.

00:15:05.400 --> 00:15:12.920
How<00:15:05.520> have<00:15:05.680> you<00:15:05.839> thought<00:15:06.040> about<00:15:06.280> that?<00:15:07.400> You<00:15:07.440> know,<00:15:07.680> it's<00:15:07.839> a<00:15:07.880> great<00:15:08.240> question<00:15:08.720> and<00:15:09.120> anybody<00:15:09.520> who's<00:15:09.720> run<00:15:09.880> an<00:15:09.960> organization<00:15:10.520> or<00:15:10.600> company<00:15:11.000> knows<00:15:11.240> that<00:15:11.400> culture<00:15:12.320> eats<00:15:12.560> everything

00:15:12.920 --> 00:15:17.080
for<00:15:13.040> breakfast<00:15:13.560> if<00:15:13.680> you<00:15:13.760> don't<00:15:13.960> tend<00:15:14.320> it.<00:15:14.480> And<00:15:14.720> and<00:15:14.920> we<00:15:15.000> take<00:15:15.200> that<00:15:15.320> pretty<00:15:15.560> seriously<00:15:16.080> at<00:15:16.200> WorkMoney.

00:15:17.080 --> 00:15:20.600
Um<00:15:17.240> so<00:15:17.360> we<00:15:17.480> do<00:15:17.680> a<00:15:17.800> big<00:15:18.560> uh<00:15:18.640> in-person<00:15:19.120> gathering<00:15:19.560> once<00:15:19.760> a<00:15:19.839> year.

00:15:20.600 --> 00:15:24.520
We<00:15:20.720> have<00:15:20.960> departmental<00:15:21.600> gatherings,<00:15:22.680> you<00:15:22.760> know,<00:15:23.320> many<00:15:23.640> more<00:15:23.840> times<00:15:24.160> during<00:15:24.360> the<00:15:24.400> year.

00:15:24.520 --> 00:15:27.560
So,<00:15:24.640> people<00:15:24.880> are<00:15:24.920> getting<00:15:25.120> together<00:15:25.640> in<00:15:25.840> bits<00:15:26.120> and<00:15:26.240> bobs<00:15:26.600> here<00:15:26.800> and<00:15:26.920> there.

00:15:27.560 --> 00:15:30.600
And<00:15:27.680> then<00:15:27.800> we<00:15:27.920> have<00:15:28.040> a<00:15:28.120> lot<00:15:28.440> of<00:15:28.600> we<00:15:28.720> just<00:15:29.080> we<00:15:29.200> have<00:15:29.320> a<00:15:29.400> lot<00:15:29.680> of<00:15:29.800> over-communication.

00:15:30.600 --> 00:15:36.640
So,<00:15:30.720> we<00:15:30.840> rely<00:15:31.080> heavily<00:15:31.400> on<00:15:31.560> Slack<00:15:32.080> and<00:15:32.200> we<00:15:32.520> we<00:15:32.680> do<00:15:32.800> a<00:15:32.880> lot<00:15:33.240> of<00:15:33.840> um<00:15:34.520> uh<00:15:35.120> of<00:15:35.480> digital<00:15:35.840> communications.

00:15:36.640 --> 00:15:43.360
And<00:15:36.880> and<00:15:37.000> we<00:15:37.280> I<00:15:37.400> have<00:15:37.720> I<00:15:37.800> have<00:15:38.000> thought<00:15:38.240> about<00:15:38.520> this,<00:15:38.800> but<00:15:38.920> because<00:15:39.320> we<00:15:39.440> started<00:15:39.800> remotely,<00:15:40.320> I'll<00:15:40.440> just<00:15:40.640> tell<00:15:40.840> you<00:15:40.960> the<00:15:41.040> fact<00:15:41.320> that<00:15:41.440> we've<00:15:41.600> stayed<00:15:41.920> remote<00:15:42.680> has<00:15:42.960> really

00:15:43.360 --> 00:15:51.760
given<00:15:43.720> us<00:15:43.960> a<00:15:44.080> hiring<00:15:44.560> advantage<00:15:45.720> because<00:15:46.160> when<00:15:46.360> folks<00:15:46.720> kind<00:15:46.880> of,<00:15:47.400> you<00:15:47.480> know,<00:15:47.680> went<00:15:47.880> back<00:15:48.080> into<00:15:48.280> work,<00:15:48.480> which<00:15:48.640> makes<00:15:48.880> sense<00:15:49.120> for<00:15:49.640> larger<00:15:50.000> companies<00:15:50.640> where<00:15:50.760> they<00:15:51.160> where

00:15:51.760 --> 00:15:56.800
there<00:15:51.960> is<00:15:52.120> a<00:15:52.680> uh<00:15:53.160> uh<00:15:53.960> a<00:15:54.080> different<00:15:54.600> experience<00:15:55.160> you<00:15:55.280> have<00:15:55.520> when<00:15:55.640> you're<00:15:55.760> in<00:15:55.880> person.

00:15:56.800 --> 00:16:01.840
And<00:15:57.040> we've<00:15:57.200> just<00:15:57.360> kind<00:15:57.480> of<00:15:57.720> baked<00:15:58.200> in<00:15:58.760> the<00:15:59.400> uh<00:15:59.480> the<00:15:59.840> the<00:15:59.920> friction<00:16:00.320> of<00:16:00.400> not<00:16:00.600> being<00:16:00.800> in<00:16:00.920> person.

00:16:01.840 --> 00:16:03.960
Uh<00:16:02.160> to<00:16:02.360> to<00:16:02.680> to<00:16:02.760> the<00:16:02.840> way<00:16:03.040> to<00:16:03.120> the<00:16:03.200> way<00:16:03.280> that<00:16:03.400> we<00:16:03.520> work.

00:16:03.960 --> 00:16:09.840
And<00:16:04.120> so<00:16:04.280> now<00:16:05.200> when<00:16:05.400> people<00:16:05.680> had<00:16:05.840> to<00:16:05.920> go<00:16:06.000> back<00:16:06.240> in<00:16:06.320> the<00:16:06.440> office,<00:16:06.720> but<00:16:06.880> folks<00:16:07.120> had<00:16:07.240> kind<00:16:07.360> of<00:16:07.440> changed<00:16:07.720> their<00:16:07.840> lives<00:16:08.120> around<00:16:08.280> and<00:16:08.360> been<00:16:08.480> like,<00:16:08.720> "Hey,<00:16:08.960> I<00:16:09.040> really<00:16:09.280> like<00:16:09.600> this."

00:16:09.840 --> 00:16:16.440
So,<00:16:10.040> I<00:16:10.120> will<00:16:10.240> just<00:16:10.480> say<00:16:10.720> like<00:16:11.000> pro<00:16:11.200> tip,<00:16:12.120> you<00:16:12.240> can<00:16:12.440> hire<00:16:12.760> pretty<00:16:13.120> high-quality<00:16:13.720> people,<00:16:14.320> especially<00:16:14.800> if<00:16:14.920> you're<00:16:15.000> willing<00:16:15.280> to<00:16:15.480> make<00:16:15.640> it<00:16:15.720> all<00:16:15.800> remote.

00:16:16.440 --> 00:16:22.040
It<00:16:16.560> doesn't<00:16:16.920> fix<00:16:17.320> the<00:16:17.680> reasons<00:16:18.120> that<00:16:18.240> people<00:16:18.480> wanted<00:16:18.720> to<00:16:18.800> get<00:16:18.920> back<00:16:19.120> in<00:16:19.200> the<00:16:19.320> office,<00:16:19.560> but<00:16:19.680> we<00:16:19.800> just<00:16:20.480> built<00:16:20.720> ourselves<00:16:21.240> around<00:16:21.520> those<00:16:21.720> reasons.

00:16:22.040 --> 00:16:30.560
And<00:16:22.120> we<00:16:22.160> just<00:16:22.280> kind<00:16:22.400> of<00:16:22.480> absorbed<00:16:22.920> the<00:16:23.560> absorbed<00:16:24.280> um<00:16:25.160> the<00:16:25.600> the<00:16:25.720> friction<00:16:26.080> by<00:16:26.320> getting<00:16:26.560> together,<00:16:27.320> lots<00:16:27.560> of<00:16:27.680> over-communication<00:16:28.520> on<00:16:28.680> Slack<00:16:29.480> um<00:16:29.720> and<00:16:30.040> email,

00:16:30.560 --> 00:16:33.400
and<00:16:30.680> then<00:16:30.800> lots<00:16:31.200> of<00:16:31.320> Zooms.<00:16:31.800> Oh<00:16:31.880> my<00:16:32.000> gosh,<00:16:32.360> so<00:16:32.520> many<00:16:32.720> Zooms.

00:16:33.400 --> 00:16:42.360
So<00:16:33.800> many<00:16:33.960> Zooms.<00:16:34.301> [laughter]<00:16:35.640> I<00:16:35.720> mean,<00:16:35.960> it<00:16:36.080> obviously<00:16:36.400> expands<00:16:36.960> your<00:16:37.240> talent<00:16:37.600> pool<00:16:37.800> beyond<00:16:38.160> like<00:16:38.560> whoever<00:16:38.960> lives<00:16:39.360> within<00:16:39.640> the<00:16:39.800> 50-mi<00:16:40.480> radius<00:16:40.920> of<00:16:41.040> your<00:16:41.200> office,<00:16:41.960> right?

00:16:42.360 --> 00:16:46.000
So<00:16:42.800> is<00:16:42.880> pretty<00:16:43.120> great.<00:16:43.520> To<00:16:43.560> the<00:16:43.720> world,<00:16:44.760> which<00:16:44.960> is<00:16:45.120> which<00:16:45.360> is<00:16:45.480> remarkable.

00:16:46.000 --> 00:16:51.200
So,<00:16:46.120> if<00:16:46.200> you<00:16:46.320> can<00:16:46.440> figure<00:16:46.760> it<00:16:46.880> out,<00:16:47.240> just<00:16:47.520> just<00:16:47.760> that<00:16:47.920> alone<00:16:48.240> would<00:16:48.560> seems<00:16:48.880> to<00:16:48.960> be<00:16:49.200> a<00:16:49.480> a<00:16:49.560> great<00:16:49.960> argument<00:16:50.440> for<00:16:50.720> it.

00:16:51.200 --> 00:16:54.880
Give<00:16:51.360> me<00:16:51.480> a<00:16:51.520> sense<00:16:51.760> for<00:16:51.880> what<00:16:52.040> a<00:16:52.080> typical<00:16:52.520> day<00:16:52.720> looks<00:16:52.960> like<00:16:53.200> for<00:16:53.320> you.

00:16:54.880 --> 00:17:03.080
Oh<00:16:54.960> gosh.<00:16:56.160> Well,<00:16:56.480> I<00:16:56.839> beca-<00:16:57.200> I<00:16:57.280> live<00:16:57.800> I<00:16:57.839> live<00:16:58.080> on<00:16:58.200> the<00:16:58.680> West<00:16:59.000> Coast,<00:16:59.760> but,<00:17:00.160> you<00:17:00.240> know,<00:17:00.440> most<00:17:00.800> Americans<00:17:01.440> are<00:17:01.560> not<00:17:01.920> in<00:17:02.000> the<00:17:02.080> West<00:17:02.320> Coast<00:17:02.560> time<00:17:02.800> zone.

00:17:03.080 --> 00:17:05.439
So,<00:17:03.280> I<00:17:03.360> tend<00:17:03.600> to<00:17:03.680> start<00:17:03.880> my<00:17:04.000> day<00:17:04.199> at<00:17:04.319> 6:00<00:17:04.600> a.m.

00:17:05.439 --> 00:17:07.520
I<00:17:05.520> do<00:17:05.680> not<00:17:05.920> judge<00:17:06.199> those<00:17:06.439> who<00:17:06.560> do<00:17:06.680> not<00:17:06.920> do<00:17:07.079> it.

00:17:07.520 --> 00:17:13.560
This<00:17:07.760> is<00:17:07.920> not<00:17:08.199> a<00:17:08.280> like<00:17:09.199> moralizing<00:17:10.079> sermon<00:17:10.520> about<00:17:10.839> how<00:17:11.280> great<00:17:11.600> it<00:17:11.720> is<00:17:11.839> to<00:17:11.920> get<00:17:12.040> up<00:17:12.160> early<00:17:12.400> in<00:17:12.480> the<00:17:12.560> morning.

00:17:13.560 --> 00:17:20.000
Um<00:17:13.680> but<00:17:13.800> I<00:17:13.880> get<00:17:14.040> up<00:17:14.199> pretty<00:17:14.439> early<00:17:14.920> and<00:17:15.120> I<00:17:15.880> have<00:17:16.040> a<00:17:16.120> cup<00:17:16.280> of<00:17:16.400> tea<00:17:16.760> or<00:17:17.439> I'm<00:17:17.600> a<00:17:17.720> tea<00:17:17.920> drinker,<00:17:18.280> cuz<00:17:18.480> if<00:17:18.600> I<00:17:18.680> drink<00:17:18.880> coffee,<00:17:19.199> I'm<00:17:19.319> a<00:17:19.360> jerk.

00:17:20.000 --> 00:17:27.319
Like<00:17:20.160> I'm<00:17:20.319> such<00:17:21.160> a<00:17:21.240> people<00:17:21.600> person,<00:17:21.959> and<00:17:22.079> I'm<00:17:22.280> so<00:17:22.520> much<00:17:22.720> energy<00:17:23.040> that<00:17:23.160> I<00:17:23.199> found<00:17:23.400> that<00:17:23.480> if<00:17:23.560> I<00:17:23.600> drink<00:17:23.839> caffeine,<00:17:24.520> I<00:17:24.839> it<00:17:24.959> is<00:17:25.400> too<00:17:25.560> much<00:17:25.920> for<00:17:26.040> everybody,<00:17:26.439> including<00:17:26.760> me.

00:17:27.319 --> 00:17:35.720
So,<00:17:27.360> I<00:17:27.400> have<00:17:27.480> a<00:17:27.520> cup<00:17:27.680> of<00:17:27.760> tea,<00:17:28.319> I<00:17:28.400> sit<00:17:29.040> for<00:17:29.360> like<00:17:29.520> 3<00:17:29.680> to<00:17:29.760> 5<00:17:29.960> minutes,<00:17:30.480> you<00:17:30.560> know,<00:17:30.760> I<00:17:30.920> I<00:17:31.440> I<00:17:32.880> do<00:17:33.040> my<00:17:33.480> my<00:17:33.600> personal<00:17:34.040> get<00:17:34.200> myself<00:17:34.480> going<00:17:34.720> thing,<00:17:34.880> and<00:17:34.960> then<00:17:35.080> I<00:17:35.160> get<00:17:35.400> right

00:17:35.720 --> 00:17:39.680

00:17:39.680 --> 00:17:42.120
I<00:17:40.800> gosh,<00:17:41.120> I<00:17:41.200> love<00:17:41.440> what<00:17:41.600> I<00:17:41.680> do.

00:17:42.120 --> 00:17:45.040
It's<00:17:42.320> such<00:17:42.520> a<00:17:42.600> privilege<00:17:43.240> to<00:17:43.360> do<00:17:43.560> meaningful<00:17:44.080> work.

00:17:45.040 --> 00:17:53.720
Especially<00:17:45.480> in<00:17:45.560> these<00:17:45.760> moments,<00:17:46.480> you<00:17:46.560> know,<00:17:46.760> so<00:17:46.960> I<00:17:47.120> spend<00:17:47.440> a<00:17:47.480> lot<00:17:47.720> of<00:17:47.840> time,<00:17:49.000> um,<00:17:49.920> you<00:17:50.000> know,<00:17:50.640> on<00:17:50.880> Zoom<00:17:51.160> meetings<00:17:51.440> with<00:17:51.560> my<00:17:51.680> team,<00:17:52.400> talking<00:17:52.760> to<00:17:53.320> partners

00:17:53.720 --> 00:18:01.920
externally,<00:17:54.560> figuring<00:17:55.040> out<00:17:55.240> how<00:17:55.440> we're<00:17:55.560> going<00:17:55.720> to<00:17:56.760> bring<00:17:57.040> more<00:17:57.200> products<00:17:57.560> and<00:17:57.680> services<00:17:58.120> on<00:17:58.520> for<00:17:58.680> the<00:17:58.760> organization,<00:17:59.560> figuring<00:17:59.920> out<00:18:00.240> like<00:18:00.520> how<00:18:00.640> to<00:18:00.760> design<00:18:01.320> the<00:18:01.400> next

00:18:01.920 --> 00:18:04.040
round<00:18:02.720> of<00:18:02.840> communication<00:18:03.440> technology.

00:18:04.040 --> 00:18:08.440
Like<00:18:04.280> I,<00:18:04.520> you<00:18:04.640> know,<00:18:05.040> as<00:18:05.240> folks<00:18:05.520> will<00:18:05.680> probably,<00:18:06.160> those<00:18:06.520> anybody<00:18:06.840> who's<00:18:06.960> led<00:18:07.200> something<00:18:07.560> will<00:18:07.680> recognize<00:18:08.160> this.

00:18:08.440 --> 00:18:12.160
Like<00:18:08.680> I'm<00:18:08.800> usually<00:18:09.080> living<00:18:09.440> like<00:18:09.680> 1<00:18:09.880> to<00:18:10.000> 2<00:18:10.160> years<00:18:10.400> ahead<00:18:10.640> of<00:18:10.720> where<00:18:10.800> my<00:18:10.960> team<00:18:11.240> is<00:18:11.440> sometimes.

00:18:12.160 --> 00:18:18.080
Mhm.<00:18:12.480> So,<00:18:12.520> there's<00:18:12.720> like<00:18:12.880> a<00:18:12.920> lot<00:18:13.080> of<00:18:13.160> toggling<00:18:13.720> between<00:18:14.040> like<00:18:14.240> this<00:18:14.400> problem<00:18:14.720> I'm<00:18:14.800> solving<00:18:15.200> right<00:18:15.400> now<00:18:15.760> and<00:18:16.240> what<00:18:16.360> I'm<00:18:16.440> trying<00:18:16.680> to<00:18:16.760> get<00:18:16.920> everybody<00:18:17.240> to<00:18:17.680> ready<00:18:17.920> for

00:18:18.080 --> 00:18:26.840
next<00:18:18.440> year.<00:18:19.120> And<00:18:19.240> then<00:18:19.360> at<00:18:19.440> the<00:18:19.520> end<00:18:19.640> of<00:18:19.720> the<00:18:19.800> day,<00:18:20.080> you<00:18:20.200> know,<00:18:20.320> I<00:18:20.400> probably<00:18:20.880> end<00:18:21.080> around<00:18:22.120> 6:00<00:18:22.320> or<00:18:22.400> 7:00,<00:18:23.080> and,<00:18:23.600> uh,<00:18:24.440> invariably<00:18:25.160> in<00:18:25.360> there<00:18:25.760> is<00:18:25.920> a<00:18:26.040> text<00:18:26.680> to

00:18:26.840 --> 00:18:30.880
my<00:18:27.520> college-aged<00:18:28.240> daughter,<00:18:28.600> who<00:18:28.760> will<00:18:28.920> not<00:18:29.120> respond<00:18:29.560> to<00:18:29.720> it<00:18:30.240> Mhm.

00:18:30.880 --> 00:18:36.240
until<00:18:31.160> I<00:18:31.240> send<00:18:31.440> her<00:18:31.520> the<00:18:31.680> second<00:18:32.120> or<00:18:32.200> third<00:18:32.520> text,<00:18:32.920> unless<00:18:33.280> she<00:18:33.480> needs<00:18:33.840> money<00:18:34.120> for<00:18:34.280> something,<00:18:34.600> in<00:18:34.680> which<00:18:34.840> case<00:18:34.960> she<00:18:35.040> will<00:18:35.160> reply.

00:18:36.240 --> 00:18:41.520
But<00:18:36.480> my<00:18:36.640> heart<00:18:36.920> just<00:18:37.480> explodes<00:18:38.040> with<00:18:38.160> joy<00:18:38.520> anytime<00:18:39.000> she<00:18:39.320> likes<00:18:39.640> anything<00:18:39.960> I<00:18:40.040> send<00:18:40.320> her<00:18:40.680> or<00:18:40.880> gives<00:18:41.040> me<00:18:41.160> a<00:18:41.240> call.

00:18:41.520 --> 00:18:46.240
So,<00:18:41.600> there's<00:18:41.760> something<00:18:41.960> like<00:18:42.080> that<00:18:42.280> in<00:18:42.320> the<00:18:42.400> middle<00:18:42.560> of<00:18:42.640> my<00:18:42.760> day.<00:18:43.600> Um,<00:18:43.800> and<00:18:43.880> then<00:18:44.000> at<00:18:44.040> the<00:18:44.120> end<00:18:44.240> of<00:18:44.320> the<00:18:44.360> night,<00:18:44.600> it's<00:18:44.760> kind<00:18:44.960> of<00:18:45.080> they're<00:18:45.200> just<00:18:45.440> in<00:18:45.560> reverse.

00:18:46.240 --> 00:18:50.440
I<00:18:47.160> have<00:18:47.360> my<00:18:47.520> 5<00:18:47.800> minutes<00:18:48.160> of<00:18:48.640> time,<00:18:49.320> you<00:18:49.400> know,<00:18:49.600> towards<00:18:49.840> the<00:18:49.880> end<00:18:50.000> of<00:18:50.080> the<00:18:50.120> day.

00:18:50.440 --> 00:18:58.680
I<00:18:50.520> snuggle<00:18:50.840> with<00:18:50.960> my<00:18:51.080> husband,<00:18:51.480> I<00:18:51.520> go<00:18:51.640> to<00:18:51.760> sleep.<00:18:52.880> And<00:18:53.080> usually<00:18:53.400> there's<00:18:53.640> some<00:18:53.960> sort<00:18:54.240> of,<00:18:54.680> um,<00:18:55.960> uh,<00:18:56.480> debrief<00:18:57.120> at<00:18:57.240> my<00:18:57.360> house,<00:18:57.720> where<00:18:57.800> I'm<00:18:57.880> like,<00:18:58.120> "Oh,<00:18:58.360> this<00:18:58.600> is

00:18:58.680 --> 00:19:01.480
the<00:18:58.800> thing<00:18:59.040> I<00:18:59.400> did<00:18:59.600> today,<00:18:59.880> or<00:19:00.000> the<00:19:00.120> thing<00:19:00.320> I<00:19:00.360> was<00:19:00.520> trying<00:19:00.720> to<00:19:00.800> figure<00:19:01.080> out<00:19:01.160> today."

00:19:01.480 --> 00:19:03.280
And<00:19:02.000> he<00:19:02.080> does<00:19:02.200> the<00:19:02.320> same<00:19:02.520> thing<00:19:02.720> back<00:19:02.920> with<00:19:03.080> me.

00:19:03.280 --> 00:19:11.800
But<00:19:03.440> my<00:19:03.600> favorite<00:19:04.080> thing<00:19:04.240> that<00:19:04.400> I<00:19:04.480> do<00:19:04.840> during<00:19:05.080> the<00:19:05.160> work<00:19:05.400> day<00:19:06.160> is<00:19:06.360> get<00:19:06.600> to<00:19:06.800> talk<00:19:07.240> to<00:19:07.360> people<00:19:07.920> and<00:19:08.120> listen<00:19:09.120> to<00:19:09.280> what,<00:19:09.840> um,<00:19:10.000> Um,<00:19:10.760> either<00:19:11.320> I'm

00:19:11.800 --> 00:19:17.720
if<00:19:11.920> I'm<00:19:12.080> explaining<00:19:12.440> what<00:19:12.560> WorkMoney<00:19:13.000> is,<00:19:13.240> I<00:19:13.280> mean<00:19:13.480> that's<00:19:13.720> just<00:19:14.040> the<00:19:14.120> most<00:19:14.400> fun<00:19:14.640> thing<00:19:14.960> as<00:19:15.160> you<00:19:15.280> can<00:19:15.440> tell<00:19:15.720> like<00:19:15.880> this<00:19:16.040> is<00:19:16.160> my<00:19:16.600> you<00:19:16.760> are<00:19:16.880> in<00:19:17.000> my<00:19:17.120> happy<00:19:17.400> place.

00:19:17.720 --> 00:19:24.560
I'm<00:19:17.920> in<00:19:18.000> my<00:19:18.080> happy<00:19:18.280> place<00:19:18.600> right<00:19:18.760> now.<00:19:19.400> Um,<00:19:19.680> or<00:19:19.880> I<00:19:19.960> get<00:19:20.120> to<00:19:20.240> talk<00:19:20.520> to<00:19:20.640> our<00:19:20.760> members<00:19:21.200> and<00:19:21.320> listen<00:19:21.560> and<00:19:21.680> learn<00:19:21.880> to<00:19:22.000> what's<00:19:22.280> happening<00:19:22.560> in<00:19:22.600> people's<00:19:22.920> lives<00:19:23.400> and<00:19:23.520> that's<00:19:23.720> always

00:19:24.560 --> 00:19:30.720
both<00:19:24.720> a<00:19:24.760> privilege<00:19:25.360> and<00:19:25.920> really<00:19:26.360> helpful<00:19:27.120> for<00:19:27.240> helping<00:19:27.520> us<00:19:27.600> understand<00:19:28.120> how<00:19:28.200> to<00:19:28.760> how<00:19:28.840> to<00:19:28.960> design<00:19:29.280> what's<00:19:29.440> coming<00:19:29.640> next.

00:19:30.720 --> 00:19:34.560
So,<00:19:30.840> how<00:19:31.000> does<00:19:31.160> someone<00:19:31.480> become<00:19:31.800> a<00:19:31.840> member?<00:19:33.480> Oh,<00:19:33.720> it's<00:19:33.920> very<00:19:34.160> easy.

Um,<00:19:57.800> give<00:19:58.000> me<00:19:58.120> a<00:19:58.200> sense<00:19:58.480> for<00:19:58.680> how<00:19:58.880> you<00:19:59.080> think<00:19:59.560> we're<00:19:59.760> doing.

00:20:01.520 --> 00:20:09.760
Like<00:20:01.760> how<00:20:01.920> is<00:20:02.080> it<00:20:03.080> and<00:20:03.240> I<00:20:03.320> want<00:20:03.480> to<00:20:03.560> go<00:20:03.680> to<00:20:03.800> like<00:20:03.960> this<00:20:04.120> idea<00:20:04.480> of<00:20:04.680> like<00:20:05.000> hey<00:20:05.400> because<00:20:05.800> you<00:20:05.920> have<00:20:06.040> this<00:20:06.200> many<00:20:06.400> members<00:20:06.840> you<00:20:06.960> can<00:20:07.120> now<00:20:07.320> negotiate<00:20:07.920> on<00:20:08.040> their<00:20:08.200> behalf<00:20:08.680> as<00:20:08.960> 9<00:20:09.280> million

00:20:09.760 --> 00:20:13.240
rather<00:20:10.040> than<00:20:10.200> just<00:20:10.440> individuals<00:20:11.640> and<00:20:11.840> ways<00:20:12.120> you're<00:20:12.240> thinking<00:20:12.560> about<00:20:12.800> doing<00:20:13.040> that.

00:20:13.240 --> 00:20:19.120
You<00:20:13.360> said<00:20:13.640> earlier<00:20:14.080> you're<00:20:14.200> thinking<00:20:14.400> about<00:20:14.520> maybe<00:20:14.760> getting<00:20:15.000> into<00:20:15.240> phone<00:20:15.560> plans<00:20:15.880> and<00:20:15.960> things<00:20:16.160> like<00:20:16.320> that<00:20:16.800> and<00:20:16.920> that's<00:20:17.080> such<00:20:17.280> an<00:20:17.400> interesting<00:20:18.360> thing<00:20:18.640> because<00:20:18.920> I<00:20:18.960> don't

00:20:19.120 --> 00:20:25.000
know<00:20:19.240> that<00:20:19.360> a<00:20:19.400> lot<00:20:19.560> of<00:20:19.640> people<00:20:19.840> know<00:20:19.960> this<00:20:20.120> but<00:20:20.280> you<00:20:20.400> can<00:20:21.480> negotiate<00:20:22.040> your<00:20:22.400> phone<00:20:22.640> rate<00:20:23.040> really<00:20:23.560> way<00:20:23.880> far<00:20:24.200> down.

00:20:25.000 --> 00:20:32.480
Yes,<00:20:25.240> you<00:20:25.360> can.<00:20:25.920> Yes,<00:20:26.200> you<00:20:26.280> can.<00:20:26.760> They<00:20:26.880> keep<00:20:27.040> it<00:20:27.160> quiet<00:20:27.920> probably<00:20:28.560> for<00:20:28.760> good<00:20:29.000> reason,<00:20:29.520> but<00:20:30.480> they<00:20:30.560> have<00:20:30.680> good...<00:20:30.960> yeah,<00:20:31.040> I<00:20:31.080> was<00:20:31.200> going<00:20:31.320> to<00:20:31.360> say<00:20:31.480> there's<00:20:31.880> obvious<00:20:32.160> reasons

00:20:32.480 --> 00:20:34.920
why<00:20:32.600> they<00:20:32.760> don't<00:20:33.040> exactly<00:20:33.440> want<00:20:33.600> you<00:20:33.680> knowing,<00:20:33.960> but<00:20:34.080> that's<00:20:34.240> exactly...<00:20:34.600> that's<00:20:34.760> right.

00:20:34.920 --> 00:20:40.760
But<00:20:35.000> if<00:20:35.080> there's<00:20:35.280> a<00:20:35.360> whole<00:20:35.520> group<00:20:35.800> of<00:20:35.920> you<00:20:36.040> doing<00:20:36.440> it,<00:20:36.600> they<00:20:36.760> will<00:20:36.960> do<00:20:37.160> it,<00:20:37.320> and<00:20:38.160> give<00:20:38.320> me<00:20:38.440> a<00:20:38.480> sense<00:20:38.720> for<00:20:38.840> how<00:20:38.960> you're<00:20:39.080> thinking<00:20:39.400> about<00:20:39.640> that.

00:20:40.760 --> 00:20:47.960

00:21:16.560 --> 00:21:20.040
Like<00:21:16.680> very<00:21:16.920> similar<00:21:17.160> to<00:21:17.280> AARP.<00:21:17.960> You<00:21:18.000> kind<00:21:18.160> of<00:21:18.200> get<00:21:18.360> your<00:21:18.440> coupons<00:21:18.800> and<00:21:18.880> discounts.

00:21:28.160 --> 00:21:36.320
The<00:21:28.240> second<00:21:28.560> way<00:21:28.640> that<00:21:28.760> we<00:21:28.840> think<00:21:29.080> about...<00:21:29.680> think<00:21:29.840> about<00:21:30.040> lowering<00:21:30.320> costs<00:21:31.280> is,<00:21:32.120> uh,<00:21:32.240> what<00:21:32.400> you<00:21:32.520> just<00:21:32.760> said,<00:21:32.920> which<00:21:33.120> is<00:21:33.240> we<00:21:33.440> are<00:21:34.600> building<00:21:35.160> a...<00:21:35.600> a<00:21:35.640> product<00:21:36.200> that

00:21:36.320 --> 00:21:43.400
we're<00:21:36.440> going<00:21:36.560> to<00:21:36.640> launch<00:21:37.040> in<00:21:37.160> the<00:21:37.240> next<00:21:37.720> few<00:21:37.880> months<00:21:38.600> where<00:21:38.720> we<00:21:38.880> will<00:21:39.040> negotiate<00:21:39.800> on<00:21:40.000> the<00:21:40.120> individual's<00:21:40.720> behalf<00:21:41.160> directly<00:21:41.600> with<00:21:41.760> their<00:21:41.920> phone<00:21:42.200> carrier,<00:21:42.680> cell<00:21:42.920> phone,

00:21:52.600 --> 00:21:56.640
work.<00:21:53.240> Just<00:21:53.440> like<00:21:53.560> the<00:21:53.680> AARP,<00:21:54.080> we<00:21:54.200> call...<00:21:54.480> we<00:21:54.560> help<00:21:54.760> connect<00:21:55.000> you<00:21:55.080> to...<00:21:55.600> to<00:21:55.720> stuff<00:21:55.960> right<00:21:56.080> now.

00:21:56.640 --> 00:22:04.680
We're<00:21:56.760> training<00:21:57.120> all<00:21:57.200> these<00:21:57.600> folks<00:21:58.000> up<00:21:58.560> to<00:21:58.680> do<00:21:58.840> the<00:21:58.960> phone<00:21:59.200> calls<00:21:59.520> on<00:21:59.640> your<00:21:59.760> behalf<00:22:00.200> to<00:22:00.440> your<00:22:01.080> cable<00:22:01.360> provider<00:22:01.840> and<00:22:01.960> be<00:22:02.080> like,<00:22:02.880> "I<00:22:02.920> think<00:22:03.080> we<00:22:03.200> can<00:22:03.320> do<00:22:03.440> better,"<00:22:03.920> cuz<00:22:04.080> we<00:22:04.440> have

00:22:04.680 --> 00:22:11.600
the<00:22:05.000> ability<00:22:05.200> to<00:22:05.280> do<00:22:05.440> all<00:22:05.680> this<00:22:05.880> research,<00:22:06.840> but<00:22:07.040> all<00:22:07.280> the<00:22:07.400> deals<00:22:07.760> they've<00:22:07.960> got<00:22:08.200> out<00:22:08.360> there,<00:22:09.040> we<00:22:09.160> know<00:22:09.440> what<00:22:09.600> they'll<00:22:09.840> offer<00:22:10.160> folks<00:22:10.480> if<00:22:10.600> you're<00:22:10.680> going<00:22:10.800> to<00:22:10.880> disconnect.

00:22:11.600 --> 00:22:15.800
And<00:22:11.960> so<00:22:12.120> we're<00:22:12.240> going<00:22:12.360> to<00:22:12.560> not<00:22:12.880> only<00:22:13.320> try<00:22:13.520> to<00:22:13.720> bargain<00:22:14.360> for<00:22:14.520> deals<00:22:14.960> on<00:22:15.040> the<00:22:15.120> front<00:22:15.480> end.

00:22:15.800 --> 00:22:21.920
Like,<00:22:16.040> "Hey,<00:22:16.320> we<00:22:16.480> will<00:22:16.680> offer,<00:22:17.400> if<00:22:17.560> you<00:22:17.800> give<00:22:18.080> WorkMoney<00:22:18.400> members<00:22:18.680> a<00:22:18.720> deal,<00:22:19.120> we<00:22:19.320> will<00:22:19.920> allow<00:22:20.320> you<00:22:20.480> to<00:22:20.600> be<00:22:20.760> one<00:22:20.880> of<00:22:20.920> the<00:22:21.000> things<00:22:21.240> we<00:22:21.360> promote."

00:22:21.920 --> 00:22:29.080
And<00:22:22.040> we...<00:22:22.440> the<00:22:22.560> quality<00:22:23.000> has<00:22:23.160> to<00:22:23.240> be<00:22:23.320> really<00:22:23.560> good<00:22:23.800> though,<00:22:24.040> and<00:22:24.200> it<00:22:24.360> can't<00:22:24.560> be<00:22:24.680> a<00:22:24.760> company<00:22:25.120> that<00:22:25.320> we<00:22:25.440> think<00:22:26.200> is<00:22:26.480> like<00:22:27.000> giving<00:22:27.280> us<00:22:27.440> a<00:22:27.480> bad<00:22:27.840> deal<00:22:28.200> for<00:22:28.320> a<00:22:28.360> bad<00:22:28.640> service.

00:22:29.080 --> 00:22:32.240
Like<00:22:29.200> we<00:22:29.320> want<00:22:29.560> good<00:22:29.760> deals<00:22:30.080> for<00:22:30.200> good<00:22:30.400> services.<00:22:31.400> So<00:22:31.480> that's<00:22:31.680> one<00:22:31.840> way<00:22:31.960> we<00:22:32.040> do<00:22:32.160> it.

00:22:32.240 --> 00:22:35.240
The<00:22:32.320> second<00:22:32.600> way<00:22:32.720> is<00:22:32.880> we<00:22:33.000> will<00:22:33.160> literally<00:22:33.520> negotiate<00:22:34.080> for<00:22:34.400> you<00:22:34.560> on<00:22:34.680> your<00:22:34.800> behalf.

00:22:35.240 --> 00:22:39.280
And<00:22:35.280> then<00:22:35.360> the<00:22:35.440> third<00:22:35.720> thing<00:22:35.880> I<00:22:35.960> think<00:22:36.160> about<00:22:36.800> is<00:22:37.040> how<00:22:37.240> are<00:22:37.320> we<00:22:37.440> going<00:22:37.600> to<00:22:37.680> expand<00:22:38.280> that?

00:22:39.280 --> 00:22:47.480
And<00:22:39.600> I'm<00:22:39.760> very<00:22:40.240> excited<00:22:40.640> about<00:22:40.960> what<00:22:41.120> comes<00:22:41.440> next,<00:22:41.920> because<00:22:42.560> once<00:22:42.840> we<00:22:42.960> can...<00:22:43.160> once<00:22:43.400> we<00:22:43.520> have<00:22:43.680> a<00:22:43.720> product<00:22:44.120> that<00:22:44.240> can<00:22:44.400> negotiate<00:22:44.880> around<00:22:45.200> cable,<00:22:45.720> internet,<00:22:46.120> cell<00:22:46.320> phone<00:22:46.560> bills,

00:22:47.480 --> 00:22:50.560
I<00:22:47.520> mean,<00:22:47.720> the<00:22:48.120> world<00:22:48.320> is<00:22:48.440> our<00:22:48.600> oyster.<00:22:49.000> We<00:22:49.120> can<00:22:49.280> negotiate<00:22:49.760> over<00:22:50.000> anything.

00:22:50.560 --> 00:22:55.040
We<00:22:50.680> could<00:22:50.800> do<00:22:50.960> insurances.<00:22:51.680> We<00:22:51.800> could<00:22:51.960> do,<00:22:52.560> you<00:22:52.640> know,<00:22:52.880> all<00:22:53.040> kinds<00:22:53.360> of<00:22:53.560> financial<00:22:54.000> products<00:22:54.320> and<00:22:54.400> services.

00:22:55.040 --> 00:23:00.200
And<00:22:55.880> I<00:22:56.000> would<00:22:56.200> very<00:22:56.520> much<00:22:56.760> like<00:22:56.960> to<00:22:57.040> be<00:22:57.280> arguing<00:22:57.760> with<00:22:57.880> people's<00:22:58.760> health<00:22:58.960> insurance<00:22:59.400> companies.

00:23:00.200 --> 00:23:07.000
I<00:23:00.240> think<00:23:00.560> that<00:23:01.160> health<00:23:01.600> insurance<00:23:01.920> companies<00:23:02.440> have<00:23:02.720> an<00:23:03.080> obvious<00:23:04.440> incentive<00:23:05.320> to<00:23:05.440> deny<00:23:05.800> coverage<00:23:06.240> and<00:23:06.360> care.

00:23:07.000 --> 00:23:13.160
And<00:23:07.320> there<00:23:07.600> are<00:23:07.880> things<00:23:08.200> we<00:23:08.280> can<00:23:08.400> do<00:23:08.560> about<00:23:08.760> it,<00:23:09.200> but<00:23:09.440> I<00:23:09.480> don't<00:23:09.640> know...<00:23:09.880> I<00:23:09.960> don't<00:23:10.080> know<00:23:10.120> about<00:23:10.280> you,<00:23:10.360> but<00:23:10.880> in<00:23:11.120> all<00:23:11.280> these<00:23:11.520> cases,<00:23:11.840> whether<00:23:11.960> it's<00:23:12.040> my<00:23:12.160> cable<00:23:12.520> company<00:23:12.960> or<00:23:13.040> my

00:23:13.160 --> 00:23:18.480
health<00:23:13.360> insurance<00:23:13.680> company,<00:23:14.440> as<00:23:14.600> individual<00:23:15.080> person,<00:23:15.680> it's<00:23:15.960> really<00:23:16.480> hard<00:23:16.920> to<00:23:17.040> feel<00:23:17.200> like<00:23:17.360> you<00:23:17.440> can<00:23:17.560> get<00:23:17.760> anywhere.

00:23:18.480 --> 00:23:24.800
Means<00:23:18.720> you<00:23:18.920> versus<00:23:19.280> all<00:23:19.400> of<00:23:19.520> their<00:23:19.640> policies.<00:23:20.880> And<00:23:21.080> this<00:23:21.240> is<00:23:21.360> a<00:23:21.400> great<00:23:21.680> way<00:23:21.880> where<00:23:22.120> I<00:23:22.240> think<00:23:22.480> we're<00:23:22.600> going<00:23:22.720> to...<00:23:22.840> we're<00:23:22.960> thinking<00:23:23.320> hard<00:23:23.640> about<00:23:23.840> the<00:23:23.960> individual<00:23:24.440> person's

00:23:24.800 --> 00:23:32.960
experience<00:23:25.225> and<00:23:25.651> about<00:23:26.076> getting<00:23:26.501> big<00:23:26.926> enough<00:23:27.352> in<00:23:27.777> this...<00:23:28.202> in...<00:23:28.627> um...<00:23:29.053> in<00:23:29.478> enough,<00:23:29.903> uh,<00:23:30.328> like<00:23:30.754> demographic<00:23:31.179> and<00:23:31.604> audience<00:23:32.029> groups<00:23:32.455> that<00:23:32.880> we

00:23:32.960 --> 00:23:35.160
can<00:23:33.160> really,<00:23:33.560> really<00:23:33.880> negotiate<00:23:34.480> pretty<00:23:34.720> hard.

00:23:35.160 --> 00:23:39.000
I<00:23:35.200> mean,<00:23:35.320> my<00:23:35.480> goal<00:23:36.120> is<00:23:36.240> to<00:23:36.320> get<00:23:36.480> to<00:23:36.600> 50<00:23:37.040> million<00:23:37.520> in<00:23:37.600> the<00:23:37.680> next<00:23:38.000> few<00:23:38.200> years.

00:23:39.000 --> 00:23:41.120
Because<00:23:39.573> that's...<00:23:40.147> that's<00:23:40.720> enormous.

00:23:41.120 --> 00:23:44.680
I<00:23:41.160> mean,<00:23:41.240> there's<00:23:41.360> like<00:23:41.480> what?<00:23:41.600> 270<00:23:42.160> million<00:23:42.480> American<00:23:43.200> adults<00:23:43.640> in<00:23:43.720> this<00:23:43.880> country?

00:23:44.680 --> 00:23:48.280
Like<00:23:44.800> 50<00:23:45.120> million<00:23:45.480> is...<00:23:45.880> is<00:23:46.040> market<00:23:46.320> saturation<00:23:47.200> for<00:23:47.440> anything.

00:23:48.280 --> 00:23:52.600
I<00:23:48.320> mean,<00:23:48.440> whatever<00:23:48.800> you're<00:23:49.000> selling,<00:23:49.600> I<00:23:49.720> have<00:23:49.840> enough<00:23:50.080> people<00:23:50.800> that<00:23:50.960> you're<00:23:51.080> going<00:23:51.200> to<00:23:51.320> want<00:23:51.440> to<00:23:51.520> have<00:23:51.640> a<00:23:51.680> relationship<00:23:52.280> to<00:23:52.400> us.

00:23:52.600 --> 00:23:55.160
And<00:23:52.680> so,<00:23:52.760> I'm...<00:23:53.080> So,<00:23:53.200> right<00:23:53.400> now<00:23:53.640> WorkMoney<00:23:54.040> is<00:23:54.280> free.

00:23:55.160 --> 00:24:02.760

00:24:54.200 --> 00:25:02.200
And<00:24:54.880> you...<00:24:55.000> You...<00:24:55.240> I<00:24:55.760> strongly<00:24:56.360> believe<00:24:57.120> that<00:24:57.600> it<00:24:57.760> is<00:24:58.120> in<00:24:58.200> the<00:24:58.320> best<00:24:58.680> interest<00:24:59.200> of<00:24:59.320> all<00:24:59.560> of<00:24:59.680> us<00:25:00.040> if<00:25:00.240> we<00:25:00.560> support<00:25:01.000> our<00:25:01.160> own<00:25:01.360> organization.

00:25:02.200 --> 00:25:08.040
And<00:25:02.400> so,<00:25:03.080> when<00:25:03.200> we...<00:25:03.400> when<00:25:03.560> we<00:25:03.680> launch<00:25:03.960> this<00:25:04.120> new<00:25:04.280> product<00:25:04.600> and<00:25:04.720> service<00:25:05.120> where<00:25:05.200> we're<00:25:05.320> going<00:25:05.440> to<00:25:05.480> negotiate<00:25:05.920> to<00:25:06.040> lower<00:25:06.200> people's<00:25:06.560> bills,<00:25:07.200> we're<00:25:07.320> going<00:25:07.440> to<00:25:07.520> be...<00:25:07.840> we're<00:25:07.920> going

00:25:14.960 --> 00:25:18.680
you<00:25:15.040> have<00:25:15.160> a<00:25:15.200> theory,<00:25:15.600> and<00:25:15.720> then<00:25:15.840> you<00:25:15.960> have<00:25:16.080> to<00:25:16.200> kind<00:25:16.360> of<00:25:16.480> test<00:25:16.880> pressure<00:25:17.240> the<00:25:17.840> price<00:25:18.120> point<00:25:18.360> for<00:25:18.560> it.

00:25:18.680 --> 00:25:22.520
But<00:25:18.880> in<00:25:19.040> theory,<00:25:19.320> we'll<00:25:19.480> take<00:25:19.720> some<00:25:19.920> percentage<00:25:20.440> of<00:25:20.520> what<00:25:20.640> we<00:25:20.760> negotiate<00:25:21.440> for<00:25:21.560> folks.

00:25:22.520 --> 00:25:26.600
But<00:25:23.000> not,<00:25:23.320> you<00:25:23.400> know,<00:25:24.000> up<00:25:24.240> to<00:25:24.440> a<00:25:24.480> certain<00:25:24.800> amount<00:25:25.160> and<00:25:25.240> not<00:25:25.440> even<00:25:25.680> half<00:25:25.960> of<00:25:26.080> it.

00:25:26.600 --> 00:25:28.760
And<00:25:26.720> then<00:25:27.040> from<00:25:27.280> there,<00:25:27.520> we'll<00:25:27.680> figure<00:25:27.960> out<00:25:28.040> other<00:25:28.160> revenue<00:25:28.440> models.

00:25:28.760 --> 00:25:32.680
And<00:25:28.840> so,<00:25:28.960> I<00:25:29.040> think<00:25:29.360> right<00:25:29.520> now<00:25:29.760> it's<00:25:29.920> philanthropy,<00:25:30.920> but<00:25:31.080> I<00:25:31.160> really<00:25:31.480> want<00:25:31.600> to<00:25:31.640> get<00:25:31.800> to<00:25:31.880> B2C.

00:25:32.680 --> 00:25:36.360
And<00:25:33.080> you<00:25:33.160> know,<00:25:33.240> I'll<00:25:33.320> just<00:25:33.520> say<00:25:33.760> right<00:25:34.000> now<00:25:34.200> we<00:25:34.440> have<00:25:34.760> an<00:25:34.920> enormous<00:25:35.800> reach.

00:25:36.360 --> 00:25:45.080
I<00:25:36.400> mean,<00:25:36.560> we're<00:25:36.680> 9<00:25:37.000> million<00:25:37.960> on<00:25:38.160> one-on-one<00:25:38.600> channels,<00:25:39.200> but<00:25:39.520> we<00:25:39.680> hit,<00:25:40.160> I<00:25:40.200> don't<00:25:40.360> know,<00:25:40.840> 1.3<00:25:41.480> or<00:25:41.560> 4<00:25:41.800> billion<00:25:42.320> views<00:25:42.760> in<00:25:42.880> our<00:25:43.000> content<00:25:43.920> this<00:25:44.160> year<00:25:44.320> alone.

00:25:45.080 --> 00:25:52.080
And<00:25:45.240> so,<00:25:45.400> there's<00:25:45.560> another<00:25:45.920> revenue<00:25:46.240> model<00:25:46.520> I<00:25:46.600> think<00:25:46.920> where<00:25:47.080> we<00:25:48.080> can,<00:25:48.800> um,<00:25:49.400> we<00:25:49.520> would...<00:25:49.760> I<00:25:49.800> would<00:25:49.960> be...<00:25:50.400> that?

00:25:52.080 --> 00:25:59.400
Yeah,<00:25:52.200> I...<00:25:52.240> Right?<00:25:52.520> I'd<00:25:52.680> be<00:25:52.920> very<00:25:53.440> willing<00:25:54.360> if<00:25:54.640> we...<00:25:55.080> If<00:25:55.280> we<00:25:55.360> think<00:25:55.520> the<00:25:55.600> product<00:25:55.880> and<00:25:55.960> service<00:25:56.440> is<00:25:56.640> like<00:25:56.840> either<00:25:57.080> anodyne<00:25:57.680> or...<00:25:58.080> or<00:25:58.160> especially<00:25:58.520> if<00:25:58.600> it's<00:25:58.720> good<00:25:58.920> for...<00:25:59.160> if<00:25:59.280> it's

00:25:59.400 --> 00:26:03.760

00:26:03.760 --> 00:26:10.800
And<00:26:04.000> I...<00:26:04.400> I<00:26:04.480> just<00:26:05.160> cannot<00:26:05.640> say<00:26:05.920> how<00:26:06.080> much<00:26:06.520> I<00:26:06.600> think<00:26:06.920> that<00:26:07.240> there<00:26:07.480> are<00:26:07.800> incredibly<00:26:08.840> good<00:26:09.480> businesses<00:26:09.960> out<00:26:10.160> there.

00:26:10.800 --> 00:26:19.400
There's<00:26:10.960> incredibly<00:26:11.440> good<00:26:11.760> content.<00:26:12.400> There<00:26:12.560> are<00:26:12.920> a<00:26:13.000> lot<00:26:13.160> of<00:26:13.320> good<00:26:13.920> companies<00:26:14.520> with<00:26:14.720> good<00:26:15.080> actors<00:26:15.680> that<00:26:15.840> are...<00:26:16.080> that<00:26:16.400> are...<00:26:17.680> I<00:26:17.800> think<00:26:18.880> it

00:26:19.400 --> 00:26:23.840
thing<00:26:19.720> products<00:26:20.080> and<00:26:20.160> services<00:26:20.920> that<00:26:21.200> I<00:26:21.280> would<00:26:21.480> say<00:26:21.800> absolutely<00:26:22.400> people<00:26:22.680> should<00:26:22.880> buy<00:26:23.120> or<00:26:23.240> consume<00:26:23.640> this.

00:26:23.840 --> 00:26:30.720
It's<00:26:23.960> going<00:26:24.080> to<00:26:24.160> make<00:26:24.360> you<00:26:24.440> more<00:26:24.600> financially<00:26:25.120> secure.<00:26:25.840> And<00:26:26.000> I<00:26:26.120> feel<00:26:26.320> like<00:26:27.120> we...<00:26:27.240> we<00:26:27.360> just<00:26:27.640> are<00:26:27.800> like<00:26:28.240> kind<00:26:28.400> of<00:26:28.480> the<00:26:28.560> middle<00:26:28.880> person,<00:26:29.400> like<00:26:29.640> the<00:26:29.720> miss...<00:26:29.920> there's<00:26:30.080> a<00:26:30.160> mismatch,

00:26:30.720 --> 00:26:36.160
right?<00:26:30.920> Like<00:26:31.040> people<00:26:31.240> don't<00:26:31.360> know<00:26:31.440> what's<00:26:31.640> out<00:26:31.800> there.<00:26:32.520> And<00:26:32.680> there<00:26:32.840> are<00:26:32.920> a<00:26:33.000> bunch<00:26:33.240> of...<00:26:33.640> There<00:26:33.800> are...<00:26:34.240> I<00:26:34.280> don't<00:26:34.400> say<00:26:34.560> a<00:26:34.640> bunch,<00:26:34.920> but<00:26:35.000> there<00:26:35.120> are<00:26:35.280> some<00:26:35.440> bad<00:26:35.640> actors,<00:26:36.040> there's

00:26:36.160 --> 00:26:41.360
some<00:26:36.280> hostile<00:26:36.600> folks<00:26:36.920> out<00:26:37.040> there.<00:26:37.280> So,<00:26:37.400> I<00:26:37.440> think<00:26:37.640> a<00:26:37.680> lot<00:26:37.840> of<00:26:37.920> people<00:26:38.200> are<00:26:38.320> nervous<00:26:38.840> about,<00:26:39.760> you<00:26:39.800> know,<00:26:40.000> "Well,<00:26:40.280> all<00:26:40.400> the<00:26:40.520> companies<00:26:40.920> are<00:26:41.000> bad."

00:26:41.360 --> 00:26:48.040
And<00:26:41.480> I<00:26:41.520> don't...<00:26:41.960> I<00:26:42.040> don't<00:26:42.200> think<00:26:42.360> that's<00:26:42.640> true.<00:26:42.800> I<00:26:42.840> think<00:26:42.960> there<00:26:43.080> are<00:26:43.240> some<00:26:43.520> bad<00:26:43.760> ones,<00:26:43.960> but<00:26:44.080> what<00:26:44.200> I<00:26:44.280> really<00:26:44.560> want<00:26:44.680> to<00:26:44.760> be<00:26:44.840> known<00:26:45.160> for<00:26:45.880> is<00:26:46.040> the<00:26:46.160> place<00:26:46.600> that<00:26:46.880> can<00:26:47.680> flex<00:26:47.960> the

00:26:48.040 --> 00:26:56.480
muscle<00:26:48.560> of<00:26:48.800> a<00:26:48.880> lot<00:26:49.080> of<00:26:49.160> people<00:26:49.600> to<00:26:49.720> negotiate<00:26:50.240> for<00:26:50.360> cheaper<00:26:50.680> stuff<00:26:51.200> and<00:26:51.520> can<00:26:51.840> have<00:26:52.000> relationships<00:26:52.720> with<00:26:53.000> reliable,<00:26:54.000> good<00:26:54.800> products<00:26:55.160> and<00:26:55.240> services<00:26:55.640> and<00:26:55.760> companies<00:26:56.200> that

00:26:56.480 --> 00:26:59.040
we<00:26:56.600> think<00:26:56.840> are<00:26:56.920> worth<00:26:57.120> it.<00:26:58.480> Yes.

00:26:59.040 --> 00:27:02.040
How<00:26:59.280> are<00:26:59.360> you<00:26:59.480> thinking<00:26:59.800> about<00:27:00.080> AI?<00:27:00.640> Is<00:27:00.800> that<00:27:01.000> helping<00:27:01.360> in<00:27:01.480> any<00:27:01.680> way?

00:27:02.040 --> 00:27:08.040
Is<00:27:02.200> that<00:27:02.400> helping<00:27:03.120> even<00:27:03.360> with<00:27:03.520> like<00:27:03.640> the<00:27:03.760> products<00:27:04.160> that<00:27:04.280> you're<00:27:04.400> developing<00:27:05.240> or<00:27:05.400> to<00:27:05.520> interact<00:27:06.000> with<00:27:06.200> folks<00:27:06.600> or<00:27:06.680> content?

00:27:08.040 --> 00:27:16.200
Oh,<00:27:08.320> it's<00:27:08.400> a<00:27:08.440> great<00:27:08.760> question.<00:27:09.880> I...<00:27:10.720> we...<00:27:11.000> I<00:27:11.080> am<00:27:11.240> very<00:27:11.760> pro,<00:27:13.040> like,<00:27:13.240> AI.<00:27:13.520> Whether<00:27:13.960> people<00:27:14.440> are<00:27:14.560> excited<00:27:14.960> about<00:27:15.200> AI<00:27:15.480> or<00:27:15.600> not<00:27:15.760> excited<00:27:16.040> about

00:27:16.200 --> 00:27:24.840
AI,<00:27:16.560> AI<00:27:16.840> is<00:27:17.080> coming.<00:27:17.840> And<00:27:18.000> I<00:27:18.040> happen<00:27:18.360> to<00:27:18.440> think<00:27:18.680> that<00:27:18.800> the<00:27:18.960> best<00:27:19.400> thing<00:27:19.640> we<00:27:19.800> can<00:27:20.000> do<00:27:20.720> is<00:27:21.000> be<00:27:21.200> part<00:27:21.640> of<00:27:21.880> developing<00:27:22.480> it<00:27:22.840> and<00:27:22.960> be<00:27:23.080> part<00:27:23.280> of<00:27:23.320> the<00:27:23.400> conversation<00:27:24.000> about<00:27:24.480> what

00:27:24.840 --> 00:27:31.280
therefore<00:27:25.280> be<00:27:25.400> it<00:27:25.480> resolved<00:27:26.040> we<00:27:26.160> do<00:27:26.600> in<00:27:26.800> an...<00:27:27.000> in<00:27:27.120> an<00:27:27.240> economy<00:27:27.840> and<00:27:28.040> in<00:27:28.200> a<00:27:28.280> workforce<00:27:29.440> that<00:27:29.600> is<00:27:29.840> AI<00:27:30.480> centric.

00:27:31.280 --> 00:27:34.080
Cuz<00:27:31.480> I...<00:27:31.560> there's...<00:27:31.800> you<00:27:31.920> can't...<00:27:32.120> the<00:27:32.200> genie<00:27:32.440> is<00:27:32.520> not<00:27:32.680> going<00:27:32.800> to<00:27:32.880> go<00:27:32.960> back<00:27:33.160> in<00:27:33.240> the<00:27:33.320> bottle.

00:27:34.080 --> 00:27:41.440
And<00:27:34.380> so<00:27:34.680> I'm<00:27:34.980> very,<00:27:35.280> very<00:27:35.580> excited<00:27:35.880> about...<00:27:36.180> about...<00:27:36.480> about<00:27:36.780> using<00:27:37.080> AI<00:27:37.380> at<00:27:37.680> WorkMoney,<00:27:37.980> the<00:27:38.280> product<00:27:38.580> and<00:27:38.880> service<00:27:39.180> that<00:27:39.480> we're<00:27:39.780> building<00:27:40.080> right<00:27:40.380> now<00:27:40.680> to<00:27:40.980> negotiate<00:27:41.280> for

00:27:41.440 --> 00:27:43.920
lower<00:27:41.680> cell<00:27:41.920> phone<00:27:42.120> bills<00:27:42.480> and<00:27:42.560> cable<00:27:42.800> bills,<00:27:43.000> internet<00:27:43.320> bills.

00:27:43.920 --> 00:27:48.760
That's<00:27:44.120> going<00:27:44.240> to<00:27:44.280> be<00:27:44.880> a<00:27:44.960> combination<00:27:45.680> of<00:27:45.800> human<00:27:46.680> and<00:27:46.920> agentic,<00:27:47.560> meaning<00:27:47.840> AI<00:27:48.200> agents.

00:27:48.760 --> 00:27:52.320
Right<00:27:48.920> now,<00:27:49.080> look,<00:27:49.280> the<00:27:49.440> AI<00:27:49.640> technology<00:27:50.200> is<00:27:50.280> not<00:27:50.760> good<00:27:50.920> enough<00:27:51.440> to<00:27:51.560> like<00:27:51.800> do<00:27:52.040> all<00:27:52.160> this.

00:27:52.320 --> 00:27:56.040
I<00:27:52.360> mean<00:27:52.560> people<00:27:52.880> are<00:27:53.000> like,<00:27:53.200> "It<00:27:53.320> can<00:27:53.440> do<00:27:53.600> everything."<00:27:54.000> It's...<00:27:54.400> I<00:27:54.440> mean<00:27:54.600> I'm<00:27:54.760> up<00:27:54.960> in<00:27:55.080> it,<00:27:55.280> it's<00:27:55.440> not.

00:27:56.040 --> 00:28:00.800
But<00:27:56.200> it<00:27:56.280> will<00:27:56.400> get<00:27:56.640> there.<00:27:57.280> And<00:27:57.440> so<00:27:57.560> the<00:27:57.680> question<00:27:58.080> isn't<00:27:58.400> like,<00:27:59.160> um,<00:27:59.840> should<00:28:00.120> we<00:28:00.240> use<00:28:00.480> it?

00:28:00.800 --> 00:28:07.040
The<00:28:00.880> question<00:28:01.240> is<00:28:01.520> how<00:28:01.800> do<00:28:01.960> we<00:28:02.080> use<00:28:02.240> it<00:28:02.360> to<00:28:02.480> ensure<00:28:03.440> that<00:28:03.640> we're<00:28:03.800> building<00:28:04.560> an<00:28:04.680> economy<00:28:05.200> that<00:28:05.520> we<00:28:05.720> can<00:28:05.880> succeed<00:28:06.360> in.

00:28:07.040 --> 00:28:14.840
And<00:28:07.291> so<00:28:07.541> I...<00:28:07.792> I<00:28:08.043> think<00:28:08.293> one<00:28:08.544> of<00:28:08.795> WorkMoney's<00:28:09.045> responsibilities<00:28:09.296> is<00:28:09.547> to...<00:28:09.797> is<00:28:10.048> to...<00:28:10.299> is<00:28:10.549> to<00:28:10.800> really<00:28:11.051> lean<00:28:11.301> in<00:28:11.552> and<00:28:11.803> have<00:28:12.053> a<00:28:12.304> point<00:28:12.555> of<00:28:12.805> view<00:28:13.056> and<00:28:13.307> then<00:28:13.557> use<00:28:13.808> that<00:28:14.059> power<00:28:14.309> of<00:28:14.560> many

00:28:14.840 --> 00:28:19.800
people<00:28:15.600> to<00:28:15.680> influence<00:28:16.120> business<00:28:16.440> and<00:28:16.520> government<00:28:16.880> leaders<00:28:17.240> to<00:28:17.360> make<00:28:17.480> sure<00:28:17.600> that<00:28:17.760> that's<00:28:18.000> the<00:28:18.080> way<00:28:18.200> that<00:28:18.320> this<00:28:18.480> goes.

00:28:19.800 --> 00:28:23.320
What<00:28:19.880> do<00:28:19.960> you<00:28:20.080> read<00:28:20.760> and<00:28:20.960> what<00:28:21.200> reading<00:28:21.440> recommendations<00:28:22.040> would<00:28:22.160> you<00:28:22.240> have<00:28:22.360> for<00:28:22.520> us?

00:28:23.320 --> 00:28:25.600
Oh,<00:28:24.160> in<00:28:24.320> general<00:28:24.800> or<00:28:24.880> about<00:28:25.120> AI?

00:28:25.600 --> 00:28:27.840
Or<00:28:25.825> in<00:28:26.050> general?<00:28:26.275> <00:28:26.500> No,<00:28:26.725> no,<00:28:26.950> just<00:28:27.175> in<00:28:27.400> general.

00:28:27.840 --> 00:28:30.400
Yeah,<00:28:28.040> yeah,<00:28:28.200> yeah.<00:28:28.800> I<00:28:28.880> read<00:28:29.080> a<00:28:29.120> lot<00:28:29.400> of<00:28:29.480> romance-y.

00:28:30.400 --> 00:28:38.600
So<00:28:30.800> I'm<00:28:30.960> just<00:28:31.120> going<00:28:31.240> to<00:28:31.360> warn<00:28:31.680> you<00:28:31.800> right<00:28:32.080> now<00:28:32.720> that<00:28:32.840> there<00:28:33.040> is<00:28:33.280> a<00:28:33.400> ton<00:28:34.120> of<00:28:35.120> fairy<00:28:35.560> romance<00:28:36.160> books<00:28:36.520> that<00:28:36.680> I'm...<00:28:36.920> I'm<00:28:37.200> by<00:28:37.440> force<00:28:37.840> of<00:28:38.000> will<00:28:38.240> not<00:28:38.480> going

00:28:38.600 --> 00:28:41.360
to<00:28:38.680> tell<00:28:38.880> you<00:28:38.960> about,<00:28:39.240> cuz<00:28:39.360> I<00:28:39.400> don't<00:28:39.520> want<00:28:39.920> you<00:28:40.000> to<00:28:40.160> really<00:28:40.400> think<00:28:40.640> I'm<00:28:40.800> cool<00:28:41.000> and<00:28:41.160> smart.

00:28:41.360 --> 00:28:44.520
<00:28:41.544> I<00:28:41.728> want<00:28:41.912> to<00:28:42.096> hear<00:28:42.280> about<00:28:42.464> those,<00:28:42.648> too.<00:28:42.832> Well,<00:28:43.016> okay,<00:28:43.200> I'll<00:28:43.384> put<00:28:43.568> those<00:28:43.752> at<00:28:43.936> the<00:28:44.120> end.

00:28:44.520 --> 00:28:51.640
Um,<00:28:45.200> but<00:28:45.440> right<00:28:45.640> now<00:28:46.120> I...<00:28:46.440> I<00:28:46.600> actually<00:28:47.040> really...<00:28:47.400> I<00:28:47.480> don't<00:28:47.680> know<00:28:47.720> if<00:28:47.800> you<00:28:47.880> picked<00:28:48.120> up<00:28:48.200> Reid<00:28:48.360> Hoffman's<00:28:48.800> Super<00:28:49.120> Agency,<00:28:50.040> which<00:28:50.280> I<00:28:50.400> really<00:28:50.960> like<00:28:51.280> a<00:28:51.360> lot.

00:28:51.640 --> 00:28:59.880
I<00:28:51.680> think<00:28:52.000> Reid<00:28:52.360> Hoffman<00:28:52.720> is<00:28:52.840> in<00:28:52.960> a<00:28:53.200> great...<00:28:53.920> I<00:28:53.960> mean<00:28:54.120> I...<00:28:54.600> I...<00:28:54.800> he's<00:28:55.280> somebody<00:28:56.160> who<00:28:56.320> I<00:28:56.480> respect<00:28:56.920> quite<00:28:57.080> a<00:28:57.120> bit,<00:28:57.360> and<00:28:57.480> I<00:28:57.560> think<00:28:57.800> his<00:28:58.040> thinking<00:28:58.360> on<00:28:58.600> AI<00:28:58.920> is...<00:28:59.480> has<00:28:59.560> been<00:28:59.680> very

00:28:59.880 --> 00:29:02.080
influential<00:29:00.320> to<00:29:00.400> me.<00:29:00.560> I<00:29:00.600> read...<00:29:00.840> I'm<00:29:00.920> reading<00:29:01.160> that<00:29:01.320> right<00:29:01.480> now.

00:29:02.080 --> 00:29:09.880
I've<00:29:02.240> also<00:29:02.560> been<00:29:02.760> reading,<00:29:04.240> um,<00:29:05.120> uh,<00:29:06.320> uh...<00:29:07.320> Well,<00:29:07.560> you<00:29:07.680> know,<00:29:07.800> I<00:29:08.120> tend<00:29:08.320> to<00:29:08.400> read<00:29:08.520> along<00:29:08.760> with<00:29:08.880> my<00:29:09.040> daughter.

00:29:09.880 --> 00:29:18.640
And<00:29:10.120> so,<00:29:10.640> we've<00:29:10.880> been<00:29:11.160> together...<00:29:11.640> we've<00:29:11.800> been<00:29:11.960> reading,<00:29:12.960> uh,<00:29:13.040> the<00:29:13.160> Throne<00:29:13.440> of<00:29:13.560> Glass<00:29:14.080> book<00:29:14.320> series,<00:29:15.000> which<00:29:15.920> is<00:29:16.400> a<00:29:16.800> kind<00:29:17.080> of<00:29:17.200> YA<00:29:18.240> epic

00:30:20.160 --> 00:30:26.280
If<00:30:20.280> you<00:30:20.400> have<00:30:20.560> not<00:30:20.840> read<00:30:21.320> Robert<00:30:21.920> Caro's<00:30:22.400> biographies<00:30:23.160> about<00:30:23.400> Lyndon<00:30:23.680> Johnson,<00:30:24.880> I<00:30:24.960> cannot<00:30:25.440> recommend<00:30:25.840> them<00:30:25.960> enough.

00:30:28.520 --> 00:30:34.920
So,<00:30:28.680> when<00:30:28.840> I<00:30:28.960> say<00:30:29.840> these<00:30:30.080> biographies<00:30:30.760> are<00:30:30.920> awesome,<00:30:32.160> they<00:30:32.440> are<00:30:32.720> actually<00:30:33.280> very,<00:30:34.160> very<00:30:34.520> awesome.

00:32:16.400 --> 00:32:23.560
there<00:32:16.560> was<00:32:16.720> this<00:32:17.240> I<00:32:17.320> remember<00:32:17.720> like<00:32:18.120> going<00:32:18.440> to<00:32:18.560> college<00:32:19.120> and<00:32:19.360> not<00:32:19.600> really<00:32:19.840> understanding<00:32:20.720> what<00:32:20.880> it<00:32:21.000> meant<00:32:21.280> to<00:32:21.400> be<00:32:21.560> there,<00:32:21.920> not<00:32:22.200> really<00:32:22.440> knowing<00:32:22.920> how<00:32:23.080> to<00:32:23.160> show<00:32:23.320> up<00:32:23.440> and

00:32:23.560 --> 00:32:29.280

00:32:29.280 --> 00:32:37.560
And<00:32:29.440> if<00:32:29.600> this<00:32:29.880> one<00:32:31.080> woman<00:32:31.560> in<00:32:31.960> DeKalb,<00:32:32.640> Illinois<00:32:33.200> at<00:32:33.360> Northern<00:32:33.800> Illinois<00:32:34.200> University<00:32:34.800> hadn't<00:32:35.200> answered<00:32:35.560> the<00:32:35.640> phone<00:32:35.920> that<00:32:36.120> day<00:32:36.560> and<00:32:36.760> just<00:32:37.040> taken<00:32:37.440> the

00:32:42.120 --> 00:32:46.280
So,<00:32:42.480> thank<00:32:42.720> you.<00:32:42.840> I<00:32:42.920> don't<00:32:43.120> even<00:32:43.280> remember<00:32:43.560> her<00:32:43.680> name,<00:32:44.040> but<00:32:44.480> I'm<00:32:44.720> so<00:32:44.960> grateful<00:32:45.320> to<00:32:45.440> her.

00:32:46.280 --> 00:32:53.280
Um<00:32:46.536> and<00:32:46.793> then<00:32:47.049> when<00:32:47.305> I<00:32:47.561> really<00:32:47.818> wanted<00:32:48.074> to<00:32:48.330> launch<00:32:48.587> WorkMoney<00:32:48.843> cuz<00:32:49.099> I<00:32:49.356> could<00:32:49.612> see<00:32:49.868> what<00:32:50.124> was<00:32:50.381> happening<00:32:50.637> and<00:32:50.893> I<00:32:51.150> knew<00:32:51.406> and<00:32:51.662> we<00:32:51.919> had<00:32:52.175> this<00:32:52.431> initial<00:32:52.687> response<00:32:52.944> and<00:32:53.200> then

00:32:53.280 --> 00:32:57.480
it<00:32:53.320> was<00:32:53.400> just<00:32:53.560> like<00:32:53.720> taking<00:32:54.160> off<00:32:54.840> and<00:32:55.160> it<00:32:55.320> was<00:32:55.440> actually<00:32:55.720> Reid<00:32:55.960> Hoffman,<00:32:56.440> who<00:32:56.560> I<00:32:56.640> mentioned<00:32:56.960> earlier.

00:32:57.480 --> 00:33:04.600
I<00:32:57.920> I<00:32:58.040> wouldn't<00:32:58.680> Reid<00:32:58.920> was<00:32:59.600> he's<00:32:59.760> a<00:32:59.960> he's<00:33:00.120> generous,<00:33:00.520> he's<00:33:00.640> so<00:33:00.760> smart,<00:33:01.160> he's<00:33:01.400> like<00:33:01.600> the<00:33:01.760> entrepreneur's<00:33:02.320> entrepreneur<00:33:02.720> and<00:33:02.800> I'd<00:33:02.960> read<00:33:03.200> Blitzscaling.

00:33:04.600 --> 00:33:07.720
So,<00:33:04.640> I<00:33:04.720> had<00:33:04.880> this<00:33:05.000> website<00:33:05.520> and<00:33:05.600> I<00:33:05.640> was<00:33:05.760> like,<00:33:05.880> "This<00:33:06.120> is<00:33:06.240> a<00:33:06.280> there's<00:33:06.480> a<00:33:06.560> there<00:33:06.800> there<00:33:07.040> here."

00:33:07.720 --> 00:33:10.920
And<00:33:07.840> then<00:33:07.960> I<00:33:08.000> read<00:33:08.200> Blitzscaling<00:33:08.960> and<00:33:09.080> I<00:33:09.120> was<00:33:09.240> like,<00:33:09.480> "Oh,<00:33:09.800> I<00:33:09.920> could<00:33:10.160> do<00:33:10.280> that."

00:33:10.920 --> 00:33:15.000
Like<00:33:11.160> I<00:33:11.280> just<00:33:11.520> nobody<00:33:11.920> had<00:33:12.800> you<00:33:12.920> know,<00:33:13.000> I<00:33:13.040> was<00:33:13.200> a<00:33:13.240> union<00:33:13.520> organizer<00:33:14.000> for<00:33:14.160> a<00:33:14.200> long<00:33:14.480> time.

00:33:15.000 --> 00:33:18.680
I<00:33:15.680> I<00:33:15.720> had<00:33:15.960> no<00:33:16.200> idea<00:33:17.040> what<00:33:17.160> it<00:33:17.240> meant<00:33:17.400> to<00:33:17.480> be<00:33:17.560> an<00:33:17.640> entrepreneur.

00:33:18.680 --> 00:33:26.560
And<00:33:18.880> so,<00:33:19.320> I've<00:33:19.960> been<00:33:20.240> me,<00:33:20.440> I<00:33:20.480> just<00:33:20.680> like<00:33:20.840> kind<00:33:21.000> of<00:33:21.040> like<00:33:21.240> knocked<00:33:21.520> on<00:33:21.640> every<00:33:21.840> door<00:33:22.120> and<00:33:22.240> I<00:33:22.280> kind<00:33:22.520> of<00:33:22.600> found<00:33:22.800> my<00:33:22.920> way<00:33:23.120> into<00:33:23.920> Reid's<00:33:24.360> Reid's<00:33:24.800> team<00:33:25.200> and<00:33:25.800> one<00:33:26.000> of<00:33:26.080> those<00:33:26.280> folks

00:33:26.560 --> 00:33:29.720
