Vantage Discovery Co-Founder COO Nigel Daley

Nigel Daley is the COO and Co-Founder of Vantage Discovery. Nigel began his career in software engineering at Yahoo! and Sun Microsystems, where his early work on Apache Hadoop and related technologies helped launch the Big Data movement.

As COO of Proximal Labs he developed big data and social graph processing pipelines, before being acquired by Jive Software where he led the search and recommendation engineering team. Then he joined Flipagram as VP of Engineering, which was later acquired by Bytedance and incorporated into TikTok. Nigel spent 6 years at Pinterest, where he held various roles in engineering, strategy, and operations, including leading Infrastructure Engineering that supported 100B pins and 500M users. In addition, his operations team helped launch Pinterest Shopping.

Nigel is also an advisor at The Hive, an AI fund and tech incubator, and a member of the Apache Software Foundation. He is a licensed private aircraft pilot and flies a Cessna 182 in his spare time.
