Sanjit Biswas is a distinguished American entrepreneur and computer scientist, renowned for his role as the CEO and co-founder of Samsara, an influential Internet of Things company based in San Francisco, California, that specializes in software solutions for physical operations.
Before establishing Samsara, Biswas made significant strides in the tech industry as the co-founder and CEO of Meraki, Inc., which evolved into Cisco Meraki following its acquisition by Cisco Systems for $1.2 billion in 2012. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree from Stanford and a Master of Science degree from MIT, where he notably co-led the Roofnet project, laying the groundwork for Meraki's wireless networking products. Biswas, alongside John Bicket, launched Meraki in 2006 and subsequently co-founded Samsara in 2015, aiming to innovate within the physical operations sector through IoT technologies. Under his leadership, Samsara successfully went public in December 2021, listing on the New York Stock Exchange with an impressive initial public offering that raised $805 million, valuing the company at $11.5 billion.
