The astrologer was right about most of it
David Alvo did not go looking for a revelation. His wife wanted a reading, and he tagged along, skeptical, figuring it could not do him any harm to sit there.
The astrologer, a Chilean named Miguel Picelli, told him that in a former life he had used his power badly and hurt many people, and that in this one he had come to give back. He said that within three years Alvo would have enough money to pay off his house, and that when it happened he should give the money away.
Three years later it happened.
"It can sound esoteric somehow," Alvo said when he told the story on the CEO.com Podcast, and he is right, and he tells it anyway. He gave himself two weeks to think it over. He landed on ikigai, the Japanese idea about the overlap between what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what the world will pay for. He decided his was giving. He gave the money away. "I changed my life a hundred percent," he said. "I think it's all about giving and you will receive more."
What came out the other side is Impacta VC, a seed fund in Santiago that backs Latin American founders building companies with social and environmental impact. Alvo founded it and runs it as CEO. Its portfolio includes a company that became the first B Corp in the region valued above $1 billion, and its most interesting investment is one where he told the founder to stop worrying about impact.
He arrived at all of this the long way. Alvo had already founded three companies, one of which he describes as failing miserably, before an investor in his first company came to Chile looking for an entrepreneur to run a fund and handed him the job. That is where he learned fundraising from the other side of the table. When he decided to spend the rest of his career on impact, though, he did not go straight to writing checks. He reasoned that to be a good impact investor, he first had to be a good impact operator, so he joined Betterfly on day one, invested his own money, and ran fundraising, tech, and product through the Series A. Then he did the same thing at Wheel the World, the accessible travel company founded by Alvaro Silberstein, who uses a wheelchair. Only after both did he raise his own fund.
His thesis is not about business models. It is about whether a founder will still be there in year four.
"You can change your business model many times. You can change your product, change your services," he said. "So what I like to look for is the purpose of the founders. Why do they care about this?" He cited Angela Duckworth's Grit, and his own test is whether a founder is "in love with a problem that is big enough to play the VC game." He usually starts helping a company before he invests.
Wheel the World is the easy version. The founder is the customer, growth and impact are the same number, and there is nothing to reconcile. Every time the company gets bigger, more people with disabilities can travel. "That's the easy type of startup," Alvo said. "They don't have to change anything."
Carryt is the version that tests the thesis. It is a Colombian last-mile delivery company, and the founder sold Alvo on zero-emission logistics. He had watched his father run a delivery business that cared about money and not much else, and he wanted to build the opposite. Alvo backed him on that basis. Then the market said no. Nobody in the region was paying a premium for carbon-neutral delivery, and the company had a finite number of hours.
So the investor who had bought the purpose told the founder to set it down. Take the market first. Keep measuring the impact, but stop spending real time on it. Come back and change the industry once you own a meaningful piece of it.
"It's not the impact company that he sold to me at the beginning," Alvo said. "But we decided together that it was better to take the market and then change it from the inside."
It has worked so far. Natura, the listed Brazilian company that had gone looking for a logistics partner with a conscience, became both Carryt's principal client and one of its principal investors, and the company has since raised venture debt, grants, and equity. Whether the second half of the bargain ever gets honored is the open question, and it is the honest one to ask about impact investing generally.
Alvo is candid that the fund is not the whole business. Impacta's first vehicle was a $7 million fund, fully raised, and its partners have described a portfolio of eight companies running from water-saving agtech to remittances for migrants. A second fund is reported to be targeting $20 million. But the constraint he keeps naming is not capital. It is that Latin America's best companies still have to leave to exit, because the region does not yet have enough corporations writing acquisition checks in the hundreds of millions. A regional seed fund is building on ground nobody has tested.
"My business actually is actually the ecosystem," he said.
The practical version of that started in 2022, when he told the Chilean outlet Tekios he was opening up everything he knew about fundraising, first to his portfolio and then to anyone in the region who wanted it, free. It now runs under the name Modo Fundraising, in partnership with Oracle, and the program reports more than 400 startups whose founders have raised over $190 million between them. "I created this methodology after raising more than $40 million from more than 200 investors," Alvo said when applications opened this year. What founders keep, he argues, is the ability to raise, which outlasts any single round.
His market read has held up. He told CEO.com that with capital tightening, founders should start with something basic that helps people get through their day rather than something cutting-edge, and he has made the same case since: the era of the million-dollar first round is over, and learning to be efficient early is the best school a founder attends. He is also, unusually for a fund manager, complimentary about his own government. Chile's development agency has spent two decades leveraging private venture capital, in some cases at two or three times the private contribution. Alvo calls the paperwork a fair trade.
Asked what makes a good leader, he named what he says he didn't have. "Being empathetic was one of the things that I didn't have at the beginning and changed my way of leading." Then honesty, which he put in operational terms rather than moral ones: "If you're a leader that is not honest, you can be a leader for a short period of time."
Every CEO.com interview ends with the same question, on the premise that the chances you are given matter as much as the ones you take. Alvo named Picelli, who did his second reading on his 70th birthday and died at 70. Then he named Silberstein, his childhood tennis partner, who was paralyzed at 18 and, years later, invited him into Wheel the World. What Alvo took from that company was not a market or a return. It was watching every person there, marketer and finance manager alike, answer the question of what they do the same way. They are making the world accessible.
Picelli made one other prediction. He said Alvo would write a book that people would read. An uncle has offered to help. There have been some emails. It is the one thing still outstanding on the list, and Alvo says he is not in a hurry because he is busy with the fund.

00:00:12.482 --> 00:00:13.873
What<00:00:12.644> an<00:00:12.870> honor<00:00:13.064> to<00:00:13.355> have<00:00:13.760> you.
00:00:14.649 --> 00:00:15.636
You're<00:00:14.827> based<00:00:15.134> in<00:00:15.296> Chile.
00:00:17.358 --> 00:00:18.789
You've<00:00:17.696> done<00:00:17.856> some<00:00:18.033> incredible<00:00:18.500> things.
00:00:18.918 --> 00:00:21.074
You're<00:00:19.063> running<00:00:19.385> Impact<00:00:20.575> VC.
00:00:21.862 --> 00:00:24.017
Why<00:00:21.910> don't<00:00:22.103> you<00:00:22.151> tell<00:00:22.216> us,<00:00:22.344> like,<00:00:22.505> how<00:00:22.666> you<00:00:22.763> got<00:00:22.940> started<00:00:23.406> in<00:00:23.551> all<00:00:23.728> of<00:00:23.873> this?
00:00:25.660 --> 00:00:26.587
Sure.
00:00:27.100 --> 00:00:31.944
So<00:00:27.497> my<00:00:27.663> long<00:00:27.845> story<00:00:28.093> short<00:00:28.424> is<00:00:29.202> That<00:00:29.507> I<00:00:29.603> started<00:00:30.084> as<00:00:30.132> a<00:00:30.164> founder<00:00:31.062> of<00:00:31.270> a<00:00:31.447> tech<00:00:31.607> company.
00:00:32.569 --> 00:00:39.351
I<00:00:32.729> did<00:00:33.210> 3<00:00:33.435> companies,<00:00:34.172> one<00:00:34.733> failed<00:00:34.974> miserably<00:00:35.679> and<00:00:36.401> one<00:00:37.523> good<00:00:37.699> success<00:00:38.180> and<00:00:38.341> the<00:00:38.485> other<00:00:38.597> still<00:00:38.886> operating.
00:00:40.169 --> 00:00:43.231
And<00:00:40.649> then<00:00:40.826> I<00:00:40.890> had<00:00:40.986> the<00:00:41.066> opportunity<00:00:41.708> to<00:00:42.509> become<00:00:42.814> a<00:00:42.910> VC.
00:00:43.712 --> 00:00:48.361
One<00:00:43.856> of<00:00:43.936> the<00:00:44.032> VCs<00:00:44.433> that<00:00:44.674> invested<00:00:45.155> in<00:00:45.315> my<00:00:45.620> first<00:00:45.860> company<00:00:47.464> was<00:00:47.720> coming<00:00:47.961> to<00:00:48.121> Chile.
00:00:48.618 --> 00:00:53.572
They<00:00:48.762> wanted<00:00:49.965> to<00:00:50.109> have<00:00:51.231> an<00:00:51.328> entrepreneur<00:00:52.787> managing<00:00:53.251> the<00:00:53.332> fund.
00:00:53.877 --> 00:00:57.612
And<00:00:54.133> so<00:00:54.374> I<00:00:54.694> learned<00:00:54.999> everything<00:00:55.272> about<00:00:55.496> fundraising,<00:00:56.298> being<00:00:56.538> on<00:00:56.618> the<00:00:56.763> other<00:00:56.875> side<00:00:57.099> of<00:00:57.180> the<00:00:57.340> table.
00:00:58.366 --> 00:01:12.642
And<00:00:58.928> finishing<00:00:59.329> that<00:00:59.778> fund,<00:01:00.387> the<00:01:00.772> investment<00:01:02.216> period,<00:01:02.697> I,<00:01:03.435> for<00:01:03.595> a<00:01:03.820> personal<00:01:04.959> thing<00:01:05.199> that<00:01:05.424> happened<00:01:05.761> in<00:01:05.841> my<00:01:06.066> life,<00:01:06.803> I<00:01:06.964> decided<00:01:07.525> to<00:01:07.605> do<00:01:07.846> good<00:01:08.087> for<00:01:08.247> this<00:01:08.472> world<00:01:08.744> and<00:01:09.049> dedicate<00:01:09.386> my<00:01:09.594> life<00:01:11.054> to<00:01:11.455> build<00:01:11.632> a<00:01:11.696> better<00:01:11.936> world.
00:01:12.995 --> 00:01:14.888
Just<00:01:14.166> about<00:01:14.487> that.
00:01:15.545 --> 00:01:24.977
And<00:01:15.690> I<00:01:15.866> found<00:01:16.508> that<00:01:16.668> the<00:01:16.749> best<00:01:17.214> thing<00:01:17.470> that<00:01:17.567> I<00:01:17.695> could<00:01:17.871> do<00:01:18.754> for<00:01:18.978> my<00:01:19.074> life<00:01:19.540> is<00:01:19.796> to<00:01:20.197> invest<00:01:20.823> and<00:01:21.737> support<00:01:22.619> impact-driven<00:01:23.405> founders<00:01:23.887> or<00:01:24.047> purpose-driven<00:01:24.689> founders.
00:01:25.892 --> 00:01:43.502
And<00:01:27.013> so<00:01:27.975> the<00:01:28.055> best<00:01:28.279> way<00:01:28.439> to<00:01:28.536> do<00:01:28.632> that<00:01:28.936> was<00:01:29.160> to<00:01:29.257> be<00:01:29.481> a<00:01:29.577> VC,<00:01:30.939> but<00:01:32.365> I<00:01:32.766> figured<00:01:33.183> that<00:01:33.567> to<00:01:33.599> be<00:01:33.968> the<00:01:34.224> best<00:01:34.464> VC<00:01:34.785> that<00:01:34.929> I<00:01:35.025> can<00:01:35.186> be,<00:01:35.971> I<00:01:36.307> needed<00:01:36.628> to<00:01:36.788> be<00:01:37.092> an<00:01:37.253> impact<00:01:38.935> founder<00:01:39.432> first<00:01:39.897> and<00:01:40.073> have<00:01:40.297> a<00:01:40.313> successful<00:01:40.938> company<00:01:42.156> in<00:01:42.300> the<00:01:42.861> impact<00:01:43.118> space.
00:01:44.063 --> 00:01:52.091
And<00:01:44.159> so<00:01:45.281> I<00:01:45.745> was<00:01:45.922> lucky<00:01:46.226> enough<00:01:46.483> to<00:01:46.643> be<00:01:46.947> invited<00:01:47.444> to<00:01:47.765> Betterfly,<00:01:48.470> which<00:01:48.630> is<00:01:49.287> the<00:01:49.447> first<00:01:50.008> social<00:01:50.409> unicorn<00:01:51.114> in<00:01:51.530> Latin<00:01:51.771> America.
00:01:52.879 --> 00:01:54.893
And<00:01:52.976> so<00:01:53.201> I<00:01:53.298> joined<00:01:53.523> the<00:01:53.620> team<00:01:54.249> from<00:01:54.587> day<00:01:54.748> one.
00:01:55.135 --> 00:02:08.922
I<00:01:55.392> invested<00:01:56.826> also<00:01:57.165> in<00:01:57.310> that<00:01:57.954> company<00:01:58.695> and<00:01:58.840> I<00:02:00.210> led<00:02:00.468> the<00:02:01.000> fundraising<00:02:01.580> efforts,<00:02:02.226> the<00:02:02.323> tech<00:02:02.484> team,<00:02:02.871> the<00:02:03.033> product<00:02:03.291> team<00:02:04.001> until<00:02:04.243> we<00:02:04.404> got<00:02:04.678> into<00:02:04.985> Series<00:02:05.614> A<00:02:07.309> and<00:02:07.647> that<00:02:08.616> was<00:02:08.841> it.
00:02:09.245 --> 00:02:12.745
And<00:02:09.342> then<00:02:09.890> I<00:02:09.987> decided<00:02:10.374> to<00:02:10.520> join<00:02:10.714> another<00:02:11.039> company,<00:02:12.095> Wheel<00:02:12.339> the<00:02:12.485> World.
00:02:12.989 --> 00:02:15.735
That's<00:02:13.882> a<00:02:13.899> company<00:02:14.191> that<00:02:14.354> is<00:02:14.451> doing<00:02:14.695> the<00:02:15.020> world<00:02:15.263> accessible.
00:02:17.140 --> 00:02:23.120
And<00:02:17.626> I<00:02:17.788> also<00:02:18.112> joined<00:02:18.274> the<00:02:18.371> team<00:02:18.696> fundraising,<00:02:19.425> product,<00:02:20.152> tech<00:02:20.938> and<00:02:21.836> took<00:02:21.997> the<00:02:22.077> company<00:02:22.398> to<00:02:22.558> Series<00:02:22.943> A.
00:02:23.264 --> 00:02:34.655
And<00:02:23.762> after<00:02:24.002> those<00:02:24.307> two<00:02:24.403> experiences,<00:02:25.109> I<00:02:25.270> was<00:02:26.008> ready<00:02:26.810> to<00:02:26.970> launch<00:02:27.532> Impact<00:02:27.869> VC,<00:02:28.174> which<00:02:28.350> is<00:02:28.479> a<00:02:28.511> seed<00:02:28.896> fund<00:02:29.537> to<00:02:29.682> invest<00:02:30.115> in<00:02:30.324> Latinx<00:02:31.623> founders<00:02:33.388> in<00:02:33.629> the<00:02:33.934> impact<00:02:34.254> space.
00:02:34.736 --> 00:02:36.741
Or<00:02:35.394> yeah,<00:02:36.356> that's<00:02:36.581> kind<00:02:36.693> of—.
00:02:36.741 --> 00:02:43.913
Yeah,<00:02:37.319> you<00:02:37.415> said<00:02:37.640> there's<00:02:37.800> something<00:02:38.105> that<00:02:38.346> led<00:02:38.666> you<00:02:39.164> to<00:02:39.581> think<00:02:39.950> like,<00:02:40.126> hey,<00:02:40.367> I<00:02:40.431> have<00:02:40.608> to<00:02:40.688> do<00:02:40.848> something<00:02:41.250> that<00:02:41.651> leaves<00:02:41.891> an<00:02:42.036> impact<00:02:42.389> on<00:02:42.517> the<00:02:42.597> world<00:02:42.918> and<00:02:43.014> do<00:02:43.159> good<00:02:43.319> in<00:02:43.415> the<00:02:43.560> world.
00:02:44.362 --> 00:02:45.020
What<00:02:44.522> was<00:02:44.683> that?
00:02:45.662 --> 00:02:58.602
Okay,<00:02:46.143> so<00:02:47.813> it<00:02:47.909> can<00:02:48.150> be<00:02:48.295> sound—<00:02:48.728> it<00:02:49.097> can<00:02:49.354> sound<00:02:49.836> esoteric<00:02:50.639> somehow,<00:02:51.120> but<00:02:52.549> I<00:02:53.432> was—<00:02:55.054> I<00:02:55.214> got<00:02:55.616> into<00:02:56.820> a<00:02:56.900> conversation<00:02:57.623> with<00:02:57.928> an<00:02:58.024> astrologist.
00:02:58.891 --> 00:03:08.380
He<00:02:59.068> read<00:02:59.389> my<00:02:59.870> astrology<00:03:00.673> card,<00:03:01.171> I<00:03:01.219> would<00:03:01.396> say,<00:03:02.423> and<00:03:02.985> he<00:03:03.242> told<00:03:03.467> me<00:03:03.804> that<00:03:04.350> I<00:03:04.446> was—<00:03:05.971> I<00:03:06.116> was<00:03:06.389> in<00:03:06.758> former<00:03:07.159> lives,<00:03:07.561> I<00:03:07.641> was<00:03:08.203> cheap.
00:03:09.102 --> 00:03:31.885
I<00:03:09.246> did<00:03:09.503> bad<00:03:09.969> use<00:03:10.146> of<00:03:10.306> my<00:03:10.547> power<00:03:11.029> and<00:03:11.253> did<00:03:11.510> bad<00:03:11.735> to<00:03:11.912> a<00:03:11.928> lot<00:03:12.139> of<00:03:12.236> people,<00:03:13.111> and<00:03:13.354> that<00:03:13.549> in<00:03:13.694> this<00:03:13.921> life<00:03:14.164> I<00:03:14.326> came<00:03:14.586> to<00:03:14.748> give<00:03:14.910> back,<00:03:15.947> and<00:03:16.676> that<00:03:17.178> 3<00:03:17.486> years<00:03:17.810> from<00:03:17.988> that<00:03:18.150> session<00:03:18.701> I<00:03:18.863> would<00:03:19.026> have<00:03:19.285> enough<00:03:19.593> money<00:03:19.771> to<00:03:19.820> pay<00:03:19.997> my<00:03:20.158> house,<00:03:20.883> and<00:03:21.689> that<00:03:22.349> what<00:03:22.994> I<00:03:23.381> needed<00:03:23.638> to<00:03:23.783> do<00:03:23.961> was<00:03:24.202> to<00:03:24.686> actually<00:03:25.798> give<00:03:27.520> that<00:03:27.697> money<00:03:27.938> away<00:03:28.534> to<00:03:29.646> causes<00:03:30.210> that<00:03:31.321> I<00:03:31.418> cared<00:03:31.660> about.
00:03:32.771 --> 00:03:38.565
And<00:03:33.819> it<00:03:34.237> actually<00:03:34.560> happened,<00:03:35.752> and<00:03:36.332> I<00:03:36.480> remember<00:03:37.055> the<00:03:37.153> Astrology<00:03:37.629> Card<00:03:37.875> where<00:03:37.974> that<00:03:38.203> happened.
00:03:39.207 --> 00:03:50.543
And<00:03:39.303> so<00:03:40.652> it<00:03:40.893> hit<00:03:41.214> me<00:03:41.792> and<00:03:42.338> I<00:03:42.434> decided<00:03:42.836> to<00:03:43.157> give<00:03:43.317> it<00:03:43.398> a<00:03:43.462> thought<00:03:43.944> and<00:03:45.100> it<00:03:45.164> was<00:03:45.485> not<00:03:45.806> hard,<00:03:46.994> you<00:03:47.348> know,<00:03:47.717> for<00:03:47.878> my<00:03:48.118> heart<00:03:48.857> to<00:03:49.660> really<00:03:49.981> give<00:03:50.142> that<00:03:50.366> away.
00:03:50.848 --> 00:03:53.513
It<00:03:51.009> felt<00:03:51.811> the<00:03:51.844> right<00:03:51.988> way<00:03:52.149> to<00:03:52.293> do<00:03:53.096> it.
00:03:53.658 --> 00:03:57.945
And<00:03:53.835> I<00:03:54.959> got<00:03:55.344> 2<00:03:55.601> weeks<00:03:56.082> just<00:03:56.404> to<00:03:56.725> decide<00:03:57.190> my<00:03:57.528> ikigai.
00:03:58.491 --> 00:04:09.453
Ikigai<00:03:58.796> is<00:03:59.037> a<00:03:59.374> Japanese<00:03:59.840> concept<00:04:00.321> where,<00:04:00.482> you<00:04:00.562> know,<00:04:00.964> where<00:04:02.088> it's<00:04:02.489> a<00:04:02.505> mix<00:04:02.907> of<00:04:03.147> what<00:04:03.292> you're<00:04:03.388> good<00:04:03.709> at<00:04:04.755> what<00:04:04.917> the<00:04:05.062> world<00:04:05.240> needs,<00:04:05.805> what<00:04:06.031> the<00:04:06.111> world<00:04:06.370> is<00:04:06.676> willing<00:04:06.919> to<00:04:07.015> pay<00:04:07.322> you,<00:04:07.726> and<00:04:07.984> what<00:04:08.307> you<00:04:08.936> love<00:04:09.179> to<00:04:09.275> do.
00:04:10.632 --> 00:04:12.842
And<00:04:10.860> my<00:04:11.120> ikigai<00:04:11.526> was<00:04:11.770> to<00:04:11.932> actually<00:04:12.501> give<00:04:12.728> away.
00:04:13.232 --> 00:04:15.800
And<00:04:13.378> so<00:04:14.207> I<00:04:14.288> decided<00:04:14.613> to<00:04:14.678> give<00:04:14.841> away<00:04:15.247> all<00:04:15.345> that<00:04:15.507> money.
00:04:16.303 --> 00:04:17.343
I<00:04:16.401> felt<00:04:16.823> spiritual.
00:04:18.492 --> 00:04:24.665
And<00:04:19.363> after<00:04:19.701> that,<00:04:20.104> I've<00:04:20.249> been—<00:04:20.749> I<00:04:21.216> changed<00:04:21.474> my<00:04:21.635> life<00:04:21.796> 100%,<00:04:23.633> and<00:04:23.891> it's<00:04:24.117> all<00:04:24.149> about<00:04:24.375> giving.
00:04:26.252 --> 00:04:29.123
Yeah,<00:04:26.813> I<00:04:26.830> think<00:04:27.077> it's<00:04:27.490> all<00:04:27.572> about<00:04:27.820> giving,<00:04:28.315> and<00:04:28.562> you<00:04:28.645> will<00:04:28.810> receive.
00:04:30.603 --> 00:04:31.212
Multiplied.
00:04:31.549 --> 00:04:33.490
So<00:04:31.886> that's<00:04:32.127> the<00:04:32.207> way<00:04:32.431> I<00:04:32.447> live<00:04:32.688> my<00:04:32.768> life<00:04:32.880> since<00:04:33.330> then.
00:04:34.132 --> 00:04:36.024
That<00:04:34.597> is<00:04:35.238> incredible.
00:04:36.217 --> 00:04:38.655
Wow,<00:04:36.618> what<00:04:36.794> an<00:04:36.923> experience<00:04:37.484> to<00:04:37.564> have,<00:04:37.821> to<00:04:37.965> have<00:04:38.061> gone<00:04:38.462> through.
00:04:39.345 --> 00:04:49.947
Did<00:04:39.569> you,<00:04:40.211> uh,<00:04:40.612> have<00:04:40.804> any<00:04:40.933> interaction<00:04:41.831> or<00:04:41.991> belief<00:04:42.777> or,<00:04:43.419> um,<00:04:44.718> you<00:04:44.798> know,<00:04:45.263> general,<00:04:46.466> you<00:04:46.739> know,<00:04:47.589> uh,<00:04:47.846> experiences<00:04:48.552> with<00:04:48.728> astrology<00:04:49.434> prior<00:04:49.691> to<00:04:49.755> that?
00:04:50.573 --> 00:04:51.776
No,<00:04:51.535> no.
00:04:51.936 --> 00:05:04.368
My<00:04:52.161> wife<00:04:52.642> was<00:04:53.123> looking,<00:04:53.845> um,<00:04:54.487> she<00:04:54.727> wanted<00:04:54.968> to<00:04:55.144> find<00:04:55.369> herself<00:04:56.171> and<00:04:56.411> decide<00:04:56.909> what<00:04:57.053> to<00:04:57.149> do<00:04:57.229> with<00:04:57.454> her<00:04:57.614> life,<00:04:58.031> so<00:04:58.080> So<00:04:58.898> I<00:04:58.994> just<00:04:59.315> got<00:04:59.555> her<00:04:59.796> an<00:04:59.940> interview<00:05:00.518> and<00:05:00.598> it<00:05:00.662> was<00:05:00.791> like,<00:05:01.304> I<00:05:01.384> was<00:05:01.497> there,<00:05:01.818> so<00:05:02.283> okay,<00:05:02.668> bring<00:05:03.630> me<00:05:03.727> the<00:05:03.807> astrology<00:05:04.288> guy.
00:05:05.347 --> 00:05:07.721
It's<00:05:05.475> not,<00:05:05.732> it's<00:05:05.876> not<00:05:05.957> gonna<00:05:06.117> be<00:05:06.213> a<00:05:06.294> problem<00:05:06.614> for<00:05:06.759> me.
00:05:08.139 --> 00:05:18.053
So<00:05:08.363> I<00:05:08.524> was<00:05:08.636> a<00:05:08.700> skeptic,<00:05:10.144> but<00:05:10.529> everything<00:05:11.026> that<00:05:11.331> happened,<00:05:12.294> everything<00:05:13.336> that<00:05:13.754> they<00:05:13.914> told<00:05:14.090> me,<00:05:14.620> he<00:05:14.877> told<00:05:15.053> me<00:05:16.240> happened.
00:05:18.470 --> 00:05:23.957
And<00:05:19.609> I<00:05:19.834> did<00:05:20.010> research<00:05:20.668> of<00:05:20.813> the<00:05:20.877> guy<00:05:21.374> and<00:05:21.599> he<00:05:22.000> is<00:05:22.240> a<00:05:22.417> famous<00:05:22.978> astrologist.
00:05:24.263 --> 00:05:27.501
You<00:05:24.328> know,<00:05:24.668> he's—<00:05:25.396> he<00:05:25.623> worked<00:05:25.947> with<00:05:26.611> Joe<00:05:26.854> Dispenza.
00:05:28.376 --> 00:05:31.323
Um,<00:05:29.347> and,<00:05:29.752> uh,<00:05:30.319> yeah,<00:05:30.659> I<00:05:30.724> just<00:05:30.902> believed<00:05:31.209> him.
00:05:31.776 --> 00:05:41.139
Actually,<00:05:32.035> Joe<00:05:32.149> Dispenza<00:05:32.828> was<00:05:33.394> the<00:05:33.491> per—<00:05:33.879> the<00:05:34.057> first<00:05:34.946> book<00:05:35.189> that<00:05:35.334> I<00:05:35.496> read<00:05:35.755> that<00:05:36.709> gave<00:05:36.951> me<00:05:37.550> some<00:05:38.908> spiritual,<00:05:40.347> um,<00:05:40.913> knowledge.
00:05:42.110 --> 00:05:44.003
Wow,<00:05:42.632> this<00:05:42.877> is—<00:05:43.122> this<00:05:43.301> is<00:05:43.432> incredible.
00:05:44.575 --> 00:05:46.028
Have<00:05:44.738> you<00:05:44.836> been<00:05:44.983> in<00:05:45.081> touch<00:05:45.326> with<00:05:45.473> him<00:05:45.652> since?
00:05:47.976 --> 00:05:49.048
Um,<00:05:48.626> yes.
00:05:49.373 --> 00:06:00.556
Um,<00:05:50.087> after<00:05:50.428> I,<00:05:51.727> I<00:05:51.808> finished<00:05:52.376> at<00:05:52.603> Wheel<00:05:52.782> World<00:05:53.269> and<00:05:53.415> I<00:05:53.431> decided<00:05:53.610> to<00:05:53.756> do<00:05:53.837> Impact<00:05:53.967> ABC,<00:05:55.322> I<00:05:55.402> didn't<00:05:55.707> tell<00:05:55.964> him<00:05:56.349> anything,<00:05:56.911> just,<00:05:57.538> hey,<00:05:58.453> Miguel,<00:05:58.838> I<00:05:58.854> need<00:05:59.095> you<00:05:59.175> to<00:05:59.400> read<00:05:59.561> the<00:05:59.721> astrology<00:06:00.091> card<00:06:00.235> again.
00:06:01.327 --> 00:06:01.728
He<00:06:01.423> did<00:06:01.584> it.
00:06:02.210 --> 00:06:05.807
He<00:06:02.307> told<00:06:02.531> me<00:06:02.708> that<00:06:03.190> I<00:06:03.334> was<00:06:03.575> going<00:06:03.832> to<00:06:03.993> be,<00:06:04.137> he<00:06:04.249> didn't<00:06:04.956> know<00:06:05.133> anything<00:06:05.438> about<00:06:05.679> this.
00:06:06.321 --> 00:06:19.167
I<00:06:06.401> was<00:06:06.706> going<00:06:06.963> to<00:06:07.108> be<00:06:08.569> a<00:06:08.729> channel<00:06:09.051> for<00:06:09.275> a<00:06:09.356> lot<00:06:09.532> of<00:06:09.613> money,<00:06:10.737> that<00:06:10.881> I<00:06:10.961> was<00:06:11.202> going<00:06:11.459> to<00:06:12.102> travel<00:06:12.647> all<00:06:12.888> over<00:06:13.466> Latin<00:06:13.771> America,<00:06:14.574> and<00:06:14.751> that<00:06:14.976> I<00:06:15.056> was<00:06:15.233> going<00:06:15.474> to<00:06:15.554> be<00:06:15.698> related<00:06:16.196> to<00:06:17.079> doing<00:06:17.384> good<00:06:17.625> things<00:06:17.802> for<00:06:17.946> the<00:06:18.027> world<00:06:18.364> and<00:06:18.605> philanthropy.
00:06:19.793 --> 00:06:22.844
And<00:06:20.034> that's<00:06:20.371> actually<00:06:20.676> my<00:06:20.772> son,<00:06:21.254> and<00:06:21.495> he<00:06:21.591> didn't<00:06:21.768> know<00:06:21.977> anything<00:06:22.314> about<00:06:22.539> that.
00:06:23.406 --> 00:06:28.770
And<00:06:23.584> he<00:06:23.746> told<00:06:23.972> me<00:06:24.069> that<00:06:24.618> I<00:06:25.022> was<00:06:25.184> going<00:06:26.395> to<00:06:26.638> write<00:06:26.831> a<00:06:26.896> book<00:06:27.607> that<00:06:27.704> is<00:06:27.785> going<00:06:27.962> to<00:06:28.092> be<00:06:28.431> famous.
00:06:28.980 --> 00:06:30.095
That<00:06:29.239> still<00:06:29.481> doesn't<00:06:29.788> happen.
00:06:32.906 --> 00:06:34.030
I<00:06:33.069> just<00:06:33.313> believe<00:06:33.476> in<00:06:33.558> that<00:06:33.786> guy.
00:06:34.762 --> 00:06:44.361
And<00:06:36.065> he<00:06:36.309> did<00:06:36.732> the<00:06:36.895> reading<00:06:38.019> at<00:06:38.198> his<00:06:38.523> birthday,<00:06:39.574> 17th<00:06:41.110> birthday,<00:06:42.711> in<00:06:42.808> his<00:06:43.051> house<00:06:43.294> with<00:06:43.455> people<00:06:43.763> in<00:06:43.924> his<00:06:44.086> house.
00:06:44.490 --> 00:06:48.904
But<00:06:44.652> he<00:06:44.749> told<00:06:44.943> me,<00:06:45.137> you<00:06:45.170> know,<00:06:45.396> you<00:06:45.542> gave<00:06:45.719> me<00:06:45.881> this<00:06:47.240> date<00:06:47.595> and<00:06:47.725> I<00:06:47.978> just<00:06:48.167> decided<00:06:48.595> to<00:06:48.681> do<00:06:48.852> it.
00:06:49.396 --> 00:06:51.911
On<00:06:49.492> my<00:06:49.652> birthday,<00:06:50.677> and<00:06:50.838> he<00:06:51.014> died<00:06:51.398> at<00:06:51.575> 70.
00:06:52.280 --> 00:06:56.445
So,<00:06:53.241> uh,<00:06:53.962> that's<00:06:54.218> the<00:06:54.314> last<00:06:54.619> thing<00:06:55.564> I<00:06:55.804> heard<00:06:55.980> about<00:06:56.221> him.
00:06:56.541 --> 00:06:59.168
And<00:06:57.230> yeah,<00:06:57.662> I<00:06:57.727> should<00:06:57.967> re—<00:06:58.207> I<00:06:58.464> should<00:06:58.704> write<00:06:58.928> a<00:06:58.944> book.
00:06:59.249 --> 00:07:01.988
I<00:06:59.265> don't<00:06:59.457> know,<00:07:00.066> I'm<00:07:00.210> not<00:07:00.306> sure<00:07:00.546> about<00:07:00.851> how,<00:07:01.171> but<00:07:01.427> about<00:07:01.732> what.
00:07:02.068 --> 00:07:05.432
But,<00:07:02.453> uh,<00:07:03.830> but<00:07:03.911> yeah,<00:07:04.471> I<00:07:04.535> should<00:07:04.631> do<00:07:04.792> it,<00:07:04.952> I<00:07:05.096> think.
00:07:05.657 --> 00:07:10.479
Have<00:07:05.897> you<00:07:05.993> started,<00:07:06.778> uh,<00:07:07.595> you<00:07:07.675> haven't<00:07:07.900> started<00:07:08.140> writing<00:07:08.476> it<00:07:08.556> or<00:07:08.701> anything,<00:07:09.021> or<00:07:09.117> thinking<00:07:09.358> about<00:07:09.582> what<00:07:09.742> it<00:07:09.822> would<00:07:09.982> be<00:07:10.094> about?
00:07:11.825 --> 00:07:12.962
I,<00:07:12.161> I<00:07:12.305> started,<00:07:12.786> yeah.
00:07:13.026 --> 00:07:18.553
I<00:07:13.122> have,<00:07:13.363> um,<00:07:13.923> I<00:07:14.003> have<00:07:14.180> an<00:07:14.308> uncle<00:07:14.644> who<00:07:15.029> does<00:07:15.509> a<00:07:15.670> lot<00:07:15.830> of<00:07:15.926> this,<00:07:16.166> and<00:07:16.407> he<00:07:16.727> told<00:07:16.855> me<00:07:17.031> he<00:07:17.128> was,<00:07:17.528> it<00:07:17.608> was<00:07:17.720> going<00:07:17.929> to<00:07:18.009> help<00:07:18.169> me<00:07:18.393> out.
00:07:18.649 --> 00:07:28.157
And<00:07:18.874> we<00:07:18.954> have,<00:07:19.274> we<00:07:19.338> have<00:07:19.451> been<00:07:21.518> emailing<00:07:22.641> us<00:07:22.753> about<00:07:23.459> what<00:07:23.635> do<00:07:23.763> I<00:07:23.844> want<00:07:24.004> to<00:07:24.100> read,<00:07:24.565> you<00:07:24.597> know,<00:07:25.223> and<00:07:25.543> some<00:07:27.147> different,<00:07:27.548> different<00:07:27.852> stuff.
00:07:28.430 --> 00:07:31.011
But<00:07:28.734> I'm<00:07:29.135> not<00:07:29.296> focused<00:07:29.713> on<00:07:29.793> that,<00:07:30.178> on<00:07:30.594> that<00:07:30.755> right<00:07:30.915> now.
00:07:31.092 --> 00:07:32.936
I'm<00:07:31.300> focused<00:07:31.637> on<00:07:31.733> the<00:07:31.797> impact<00:07:32.102> that<00:07:32.182> we<00:07:32.278> see<00:07:32.599> for<00:07:32.743> the<00:07:32.775> moment.
00:07:33.000 --> 00:07:33.240
Yeah.
00:07:33.962 --> 00:07:35.501
What,<00:07:34.267> what<00:07:34.363> does<00:07:34.523> impact<00:07:34.988> mean<00:07:35.245> to<00:07:35.389> you?
00:07:36.832 --> 00:07:41.964
And<00:07:37.073> what<00:07:37.233> type<00:07:37.426> of<00:07:37.554> companies<00:07:37.955> do<00:07:37.987> you<00:07:38.211> look<00:07:38.452> for<00:07:38.757> to<00:07:38.853> invest<00:07:39.334> in<00:07:39.574> where<00:07:39.799> you<00:07:39.975> know<00:07:40.697> that<00:07:40.857> they're<00:07:41.018> making<00:07:41.402> an<00:07:41.435> impact?
00:07:42.300 --> 00:07:49.725
And<00:07:42.461> it's<00:07:42.605> not<00:07:42.781> like<00:07:43.006> one<00:07:43.118> of<00:07:43.198> these<00:07:43.455> things<00:07:43.663> where<00:07:43.808> it's<00:07:43.904> a<00:07:43.968> marketing<00:07:44.626> ploy<00:07:45.267> or<00:07:45.363> something<00:07:45.812> along<00:07:46.069> those<00:07:46.373> lines,<00:07:47.271> like<00:07:47.496> to<00:07:47.592> try<00:07:47.753> to<00:07:47.897> gain<00:07:48.137> customers<00:07:49.035> and<00:07:49.180> that<00:07:49.356> type<00:07:49.532> of<00:07:49.661> thing.
00:07:49.821 --> 00:07:53.524
How<00:07:49.933> do<00:07:50.062> you<00:07:50.174> know<00:07:50.719> when<00:07:50.879> a<00:07:50.960> company<00:07:51.938> is<00:07:52.226> really<00:07:52.563> making<00:07:52.979> an<00:07:53.108> impact?
00:07:54.053 --> 00:08:00.751
Yeah,<00:07:54.229> so<00:07:55.447> the<00:07:55.928> journey<00:07:56.313> of<00:07:56.473> a<00:07:56.633> startup,<00:07:57.835> you<00:07:57.867> know,<00:07:58.011> of<00:07:58.171> a<00:07:58.236> company,<00:07:59.053> it<00:07:59.197> goes<00:07:59.518> different<00:08:00.399> ways.
00:08:00.816 --> 00:08:03.556
You<00:08:00.896> can<00:08:01.136> change<00:08:01.457> your<00:08:01.841> business<00:08:02.162> model,<00:08:02.658> you<00:08:02.755> know,<00:08:02.979> many<00:08:03.203> times.
00:08:03.604 --> 00:08:05.831
You<00:08:03.684> can<00:08:04.181> change<00:08:04.405> your<00:08:04.501> product,<00:08:04.902> change<00:08:05.078> your<00:08:05.239> services.
00:08:06.360 --> 00:08:12.866
And<00:08:06.408> so<00:08:07.145> what<00:08:07.290> I<00:08:07.450> like<00:08:07.642> to<00:08:07.851> look<00:08:08.091> for<00:08:08.428> is<00:08:09.726> the<00:08:09.870> purpose<00:08:10.270> of<00:08:10.431> the<00:08:10.591> founders,<00:08:10.992> you<00:08:11.488> know,<00:08:11.697> why<00:08:11.953> do<00:08:12.033> they<00:08:12.274> care<00:08:12.434> about<00:08:12.738> this?
00:08:13.620 --> 00:08:23.684
And<00:08:14.197> because,<00:08:14.597> you<00:08:14.693> know,<00:08:15.142> having<00:08:15.398> a<00:08:15.463> company,<00:08:16.055> it's,<00:08:16.761> you<00:08:16.921> have<00:08:17.546> lowlights<00:08:18.844> many<00:08:19.068> times<00:08:19.485> and<00:08:19.709> you<00:08:19.886> have<00:08:20.062> to<00:08:20.511> hustle<00:08:21.088> and,<00:08:21.328> you<00:08:21.392> know,<00:08:21.873> surpass<00:08:22.370> those<00:08:23.332> moments.
00:08:23.796 --> 00:08:29.822
And<00:08:24.437> there's<00:08:24.630> a<00:08:24.694> book<00:08:24.918> actually<00:08:25.399> called<00:08:25.655> Grit,<00:08:26.681> Angela<00:08:28.444> and<00:08:28.524> I<00:08:28.861> don't<00:08:29.021> remember<00:08:29.278> the<00:08:29.358> last<00:08:29.582> name.
00:08:30.880 --> 00:08:39.006
It<00:08:31.024> talks<00:08:31.489> a<00:08:31.569> lot<00:08:31.762> about<00:08:32.531> the<00:08:32.627> grit<00:08:32.932> that<00:08:33.092> you<00:08:33.172> have<00:08:33.573> when<00:08:33.813> you<00:08:33.893> have<00:08:34.134> a<00:08:34.470> purpose,<00:08:35.817> a<00:08:35.993> personal<00:08:36.810> story<00:08:37.435> about<00:08:37.900> the<00:08:37.980> company<00:08:38.301> that<00:08:38.397> you're<00:08:38.717> building.
00:08:39.743 --> 00:08:41.827
And<00:08:40.144> I<00:08:40.240> think<00:08:40.480> that's<00:08:41.522> true.
00:08:42.163 --> 00:08:48.783
It<00:08:42.243> happened,<00:08:42.804> you<00:08:42.868> know,<00:08:43.125> it<00:08:43.205> happened<00:08:43.525> to<00:08:43.606> me,<00:08:43.766> it<00:08:43.990> happened<00:08:44.888> to<00:08:45.032> the<00:08:45.112> founders<00:08:45.513> that<00:08:46.010> I've<00:08:47.452> been<00:08:47.757> successful<00:08:48.398> investing.
00:08:49.392 --> 00:09:00.805
And<00:08:49.456> so<00:08:49.680> I<00:08:50.017> think<00:08:50.578> that<00:08:51.283> the<00:08:51.620> purpose<00:08:52.245> of<00:08:52.341> the<00:08:52.502> founders,<00:08:53.287> it's<00:08:53.463> gonna<00:08:53.704> stick<00:08:55.451> a<00:08:55.547> bit<00:08:55.708> longer<00:08:56.349> if,<00:08:57.134> or<00:08:57.455> until<00:08:58.208> the<00:08:58.417> end,<00:08:59.314> if<00:08:59.395> they<00:08:59.539> have<00:08:59.731> a<00:08:59.876> personal<00:09:00.356> story.
00:09:01.062 --> 00:09:10.712
And<00:09:01.158> so<00:09:01.398> I<00:09:01.703> look<00:09:01.959> for<00:09:02.360> business<00:09:03.707> models<00:09:04.124> related<00:09:04.460> to<00:09:04.604> impact,<00:09:05.807> but<00:09:06.127> that's<00:09:07.746> not<00:09:08.131> like<00:09:09.253> the<00:09:09.413> best<00:09:09.878> way<00:09:10.055> to<00:09:10.311> see<00:09:10.616> it.
00:09:10.840 --> 00:09:24.539
For<00:09:11.481> my<00:09:11.594> side,<00:09:11.978> I<00:09:12.139> see<00:09:12.379> the<00:09:12.539> purpose<00:09:12.924> of<00:09:13.020> the<00:09:13.165> founders,<00:09:13.661> and<00:09:14.142> if<00:09:14.527> they<00:09:14.928> are<00:09:15.264> in<00:09:15.505> love<00:09:15.745> with<00:09:15.826> the<00:09:15.970> problem<00:09:16.787> that<00:09:16.867> is<00:09:17.028> big<00:09:17.268> enough<00:09:17.813> to<00:09:17.909> play<00:09:18.134> the<00:09:18.390> VC<00:09:18.791> game,<00:09:19.738> And<00:09:20.396> I<00:09:20.477> want<00:09:20.621> to<00:09:20.702> support<00:09:20.958> those<00:09:21.119> guys,<00:09:21.601> and<00:09:21.697> I<00:09:21.745> actually<00:09:22.163> start<00:09:22.355> supporting<00:09:22.869> first<00:09:23.271> and<00:09:23.367> then<00:09:23.592> I<00:09:23.688> invest<00:09:24.089> in<00:09:24.170> those<00:09:24.395> companies.
00:09:25.518 --> 00:09:29.147
I<00:09:25.695> think<00:09:25.856> the<00:09:25.936> book<00:09:26.161> you're<00:09:26.241> talking<00:09:26.450> about<00:09:26.642> is<00:09:26.883> Angela<00:09:27.365> Duckworth's<00:09:28.666> Grit.
00:09:29.212 --> 00:09:29.452
Yes.
00:09:30.432 --> 00:09:32.182
Yeah,<00:09:30.753> that's<00:09:31.090> an<00:09:31.219> incredible<00:09:31.877> book.
00:09:32.503 --> 00:09:35.441
And<00:09:33.065> I've<00:09:34.028> actually<00:09:34.221> had<00:09:34.301> the<00:09:34.430> chance<00:09:34.623> to<00:09:34.735> meet<00:09:35.008> Angela.
00:09:35.554 --> 00:09:38.653
She<00:09:35.666> spoke<00:09:35.987> at<00:09:36.196> one<00:09:36.598> of<00:09:37.673> my<00:09:38.059> events.
00:09:38.749 --> 00:09:40.002
It's<00:09:38.862> pretty,<00:09:39.167> it's<00:09:39.343> pretty<00:09:39.568> incredible.
00:09:40.050 --> 00:09:41.687
It's<00:09:40.146> interesting<00:09:40.547> to<00:09:40.628> hear<00:09:41.093> you<00:09:41.190> talk<00:09:41.447> about<00:09:41.655> her.
00:09:41.752 --> 00:09:44.465
Yeah,<00:09:41.912> she's,<00:09:42.555> she's,<00:09:43.020> she's<00:09:43.277> incredible.
00:09:45.053 --> 00:09:45.809
Really,<00:09:45.375> really<00:09:45.696> cool.
00:09:46.324 --> 00:10:03.170
Anyways,<00:09:46.983> so<00:09:49.058> what's<00:09:49.235> it—<00:09:49.395> what's<00:09:49.556> an<00:09:49.637> example<00:09:50.039> of<00:09:50.135> a<00:09:50.264> company<00:09:50.763> that<00:09:50.988> you've<00:09:51.165> seen<00:09:51.631> like,<00:09:51.808> hey,<00:09:52.274> I<00:09:52.451> really<00:09:52.693> believed<00:09:52.950> in<00:09:53.079> these<00:09:53.255> founders,<00:09:53.658> I<00:09:53.722> really<00:09:53.979> believed<00:09:54.285> in<00:09:54.365> their<00:09:54.446> mission,<00:09:54.710> I<00:09:54.875> really<00:09:55.122> believed<00:09:55.682> in<00:09:55.847> what<00:09:56.028> they<00:09:56.177> were<00:09:56.276> doing,<00:09:59.250> and<00:10:00.056> you<00:10:00.089> know,<00:10:00.314> but,<00:10:00.960> but<00:10:01.186> the<00:10:01.347> journey<00:10:01.831> wasn't<00:10:02.250> a<00:10:02.267> straight<00:10:02.734> line.
00:10:03.218 --> 00:10:21.007
Maybe<00:10:03.541> there<00:10:03.702> was<00:10:04.025> some<00:10:04.186> twists<00:10:04.509> and<00:10:04.670> turns<00:10:04.993> inside<00:10:05.316> of<00:10:05.380> that,<00:10:06.348> and<00:10:06.897> you<00:10:06.945> know,<00:10:07.800> at<00:10:07.897> the<00:10:08.058> end<00:10:08.155> of<00:10:08.236> the<00:10:08.317> day<00:10:08.430> they<00:10:08.544> actually<00:10:09.017> ended<00:10:09.213> up<00:10:09.360> doing<00:10:09.670> what<00:10:09.833> they<00:10:09.931> were<00:10:10.094> doing,<00:10:10.649> or<00:10:11.993> What<00:10:12.154> is<00:10:12.250> an<00:10:12.378> example<00:10:12.779> of<00:10:12.859> like<00:10:13.020> someone<00:10:13.340> who<00:10:13.501> really,<00:10:13.838> like<00:10:14.078> when<00:10:14.223> you're,<00:10:14.399> it<00:10:14.543> feels<00:10:14.656> like<00:10:14.800> when<00:10:14.944> you're<00:10:15.041> trying<00:10:15.281> to<00:10:15.426> build<00:10:15.602> an<00:10:15.682> impact<00:10:16.019> startup,<00:10:16.420> it's<00:10:16.628> almost<00:10:16.949> like<00:10:18.152> you're<00:10:18.649> making<00:10:18.970> everything<00:10:19.371> doubly<00:10:19.772> hard<00:10:20.494> on<00:10:20.654> yourself.
00:10:21.135 --> 00:10:30.310
I<00:10:21.200> mean,<00:10:21.312> startups<00:10:21.697> are<00:10:21.777> already<00:10:22.322> hard<00:10:22.723> and<00:10:22.884> then<00:10:22.980> you've<00:10:23.124> gotta<00:10:23.445> add<00:10:23.621> like<00:10:23.862> impact<00:10:24.969> and<00:10:26.412> doing<00:10:26.749> good<00:10:27.006> and<00:10:27.134> all<00:10:27.214> that<00:10:27.391> type<00:10:27.567> of<00:10:27.631> stuff<00:10:27.872> on<00:10:28.016> top<00:10:28.353> of<00:10:28.513> it.
00:10:30.502 --> 00:10:32.331
What<00:10:30.599> is<00:10:30.679> that<00:10:30.903> journey<00:10:31.160> like<00:10:31.400> for<00:10:31.513> most<00:10:31.801> entrepreneurs?
00:10:32.828 --> 00:10:38.634
Okay,<00:10:33.020> so<00:10:33.790> this<00:10:34.271> one<00:10:34.512> journey<00:10:34.688> that<00:10:34.849> is<00:10:35.154> easy,<00:10:35.490> you<00:10:35.571> know,<00:10:35.875> Wheel<00:10:36.052> the<00:10:36.132> World,<00:10:36.677> you<00:10:36.725> know,<00:10:36.998> they<00:10:37.159> want<00:10:37.415> to<00:10:37.495> do<00:10:37.656> the<00:10:37.976> world<00:10:38.217> accessible.
00:10:38.762 --> 00:10:41.441
Actually,<00:10:39.340> the<00:10:39.420> founder,<00:10:40.126> the<00:10:40.174> CEO<00:10:40.527> is<00:10:40.703> in<00:10:41.008> a<00:10:41.104> wheelchair.
00:10:42.131 --> 00:10:45.917
And<00:10:43.350> so<00:10:43.751> that<00:10:43.912> type<00:10:44.216> of<00:10:44.393> companies,<00:10:44.794> they<00:10:45.035> just<00:10:45.516> need<00:10:45.676> to<00:10:45.756> grow.
00:10:46.799 --> 00:10:54.435
Every<00:10:47.024> time<00:10:47.184> they<00:10:47.280> grow,<00:10:47.601> every<00:10:47.842> time<00:10:48.468> they,<00:10:48.628> you<00:10:48.692> know,<00:10:48.885> they're<00:10:49.526> bigger,<00:10:50.008> they<00:10:50.232> are<00:10:50.344> helping<00:10:50.970> more<00:10:51.291> people<00:10:51.516> with<00:10:51.612> disability<00:10:52.414> to<00:10:52.799> explore<00:10:53.136> the<00:10:53.280> world<00:10:53.697> without<00:10:54.098> limits.
00:10:54.965 --> 00:11:01.718
So<00:10:55.526> that's<00:10:56.729> the<00:10:56.986> easy<00:10:57.226> type<00:10:57.403> of<00:10:57.483> startup<00:10:58.173> when,<00:10:58.494> you<00:10:58.526> know,<00:10:59.071> they<00:10:59.232> don't<00:10:59.456> have<00:10:59.697> to<00:11:00.018> change<00:11:00.274> anything,<00:11:00.595> they're<00:11:00.756> just<00:11:00.996> doing<00:11:01.237> it<00:11:01.317> the<00:11:01.381> right<00:11:01.622> way.
00:11:02.183 --> 00:11:08.664
But<00:11:02.344> I<00:11:02.424> have<00:11:02.584> another<00:11:02.857> company<00:11:04.044> that<00:11:04.205> is<00:11:04.349> called<00:11:04.590> Carré,<00:11:05.552> and<00:11:06.451> what<00:11:06.996> Caritas<00:11:07.493> is<00:11:07.798> last<00:11:08.054> mile<00:11:08.375> delivery.
00:11:09.658 --> 00:11:20.643
The<00:11:10.300> purpose<00:11:10.700> of<00:11:10.797> the<00:11:10.941> founder<00:11:11.983> is<00:11:12.288> to<00:11:12.609> do<00:11:13.010> last<00:11:13.331> mile<00:11:13.972> on<00:11:14.902> zero—<00:11:17.260> how<00:11:17.356> to<00:11:17.436> say<00:11:17.981> it<00:11:18.238> in<00:11:18.783> English—<00:11:19.056> zero<00:11:19.505> emissions,<00:11:20.403> right?
00:11:21.750 --> 00:11:24.300
Or<00:11:22.408> to<00:11:22.889> offset<00:11:23.674> all<00:11:23.755> the<00:11:23.835> emissions.
00:11:24.476 --> 00:11:24.989
Oh<00:11:24.492> yeah,<00:11:24.877> yeah.
00:11:25.054 --> 00:11:26.417
So<00:11:25.214> that's<00:11:25.390> the<00:11:25.535> purpose<00:11:25.920> of<00:11:26.000> the<00:11:26.096> founder.
00:11:27.203 --> 00:11:28.117
Yeah,<00:11:27.604> carbon<00:11:27.860> offset.
00:11:28.325 --> 00:11:28.421
Yeah.
00:11:29.384 --> 00:11:32.030
And<00:11:29.528> so<00:11:30.506> I<00:11:30.651> met<00:11:30.827> the<00:11:30.971> founder<00:11:31.372> for<00:11:31.565> a<00:11:31.773> year.
00:11:32.270 --> 00:11:38.098
I<00:11:32.495> helped<00:11:33.217> I<00:11:33.378> helped<00:11:33.699> him<00:11:34.261> build<00:11:34.501> the<00:11:34.582> strategy<00:11:35.240> and<00:11:35.481> build<00:11:35.722> the<00:11:35.866> team<00:11:36.203> and,<00:11:36.508> you<00:11:36.541> know,<00:11:36.765> build<00:11:37.006> the<00:11:37.247> fundraising<00:11:37.745> strategy.
00:11:38.837 --> 00:11:55.390
And<00:11:39.816> I<00:11:39.912> know<00:11:40.539> the<00:11:40.699> purpose<00:11:41.101> of<00:11:41.181> the<00:11:41.261> guy<00:11:41.373> because<00:11:42.048> he<00:11:42.369> worked<00:11:43.493> at<00:11:43.653> another,<00:11:44.312> you<00:11:44.408> know,<00:11:45.757> logistic<00:11:46.303> company<00:11:46.720> with<00:11:46.881> his<00:11:47.186> father,<00:11:48.069> and<00:11:48.791> he<00:11:48.968> saw<00:11:49.514> all<00:11:49.691> the<00:11:50.333> mean<00:11:50.654> things<00:11:51.120> that<00:11:51.296> the<00:11:51.457> father<00:11:51.842> did,<00:11:52.645> and<00:11:52.982> he<00:11:53.143> only<00:11:53.383> cared<00:11:53.544> about<00:11:53.785> money<00:11:54.026> and<00:11:54.186> not<00:11:54.572> care<00:11:54.748> about<00:11:54.973> the<00:11:55.053> planet.
00:11:55.631 --> 00:12:07.885
And<00:11:55.776> he<00:11:56.836> cares<00:11:57.157> a<00:11:57.173> lot<00:11:57.397> about<00:11:57.558> the<00:11:57.638> planet,<00:11:58.441> but<00:11:58.602> he<00:11:58.843> decided<00:11:59.565> that<00:11:59.806> the<00:12:00.111> way<00:12:00.528> that<00:12:00.769> he<00:12:01.171> is<00:12:01.331> going<00:12:01.556> to<00:12:01.652> actually<00:12:02.198> impact<00:12:02.519> the<00:12:02.600> world<00:12:02.937> is<00:12:03.162> to<00:12:03.338> take<00:12:03.659> the<00:12:04.302> to<00:12:04.463> take<00:12:04.705> the<00:12:05.593> market<00:12:06.706> right<00:12:06.900> away,<00:12:07.352> really<00:12:07.594> fast.
00:12:08.175 --> 00:12:09.644
And<00:12:08.256> the<00:12:08.336> market<00:12:08.659> is<00:12:08.837> not<00:12:09.224> zero<00:12:09.466> emissions.
00:12:10.567 --> 00:12:22.310
It's—<00:12:10.989> so<00:12:12.351> he's<00:12:13.097> growing<00:12:13.519> now,<00:12:13.909> so<00:12:14.152> he<00:12:14.298> can<00:12:14.622> actually<00:12:14.963> transform<00:12:15.547> the<00:12:15.677> industry<00:12:16.180> from<00:12:17.234> the<00:12:17.396> inside<00:12:18.272> and,<00:12:20.624> you<00:12:20.818> know,<00:12:21.029> having<00:12:21.289> a<00:12:21.451> big<00:12:21.678> portion<00:12:21.954> of<00:12:22.083> the<00:12:22.164> market.
00:12:22.505 --> 00:12:24.370
So,<00:12:23.300> and<00:12:23.624> I<00:12:23.721> believe<00:12:23.981> in<00:12:24.111> that.
00:12:24.921 --> 00:12:54.245
And<00:12:25.262> he's<00:12:25.648> actually<00:12:26.066> now—<00:12:28.075> he<00:12:28.381> had<00:12:28.863> an<00:12:28.895> impact,<00:12:29.683> Chief<00:12:29.940> Impact<00:12:30.310> Officer,<00:12:31.355> and<00:12:32.320> we<00:12:32.417> decided<00:12:32.819> to,<00:12:33.220> you<00:12:33.285> know,<00:12:33.947> don't<00:12:34.108> worry<00:12:34.269> about<00:12:34.445> that,<00:12:34.687> you're<00:12:34.783> doing<00:12:35.008> a<00:12:35.024> lot<00:12:35.185> of<00:12:35.249> stuff,<00:12:35.635> you<00:12:35.667> need<00:12:35.812> to<00:12:35.892> grow<00:12:36.117> your<00:12:36.278> company,<00:12:37.419> don't<00:12:37.644> care<00:12:37.741> about<00:12:37.982> that<00:12:38.303> now,<00:12:38.689> just<00:12:39.027> measure<00:12:39.412> your<00:12:39.589> impact,<00:12:40.554> measure<00:12:41.197> it,<00:12:41.679> don't<00:12:42.210> be<00:12:42.566> too,<00:12:44.491> you<00:12:44.572> know,<00:12:44.750> dedicating<00:12:45.155> too<00:12:45.236> much<00:12:45.559> time<00:12:45.786> to<00:12:45.867> that<00:12:46.191> and<00:12:46.530> focus<00:12:46.854> on<00:12:47.000> that,<00:12:47.728> and<00:12:48.877> then<00:12:49.767> we<00:12:49.929> can<00:12:50.576> come<00:12:50.738> back<00:12:51.062> and<00:12:51.206> actually<00:12:51.624> change<00:12:51.930> the<00:12:53.377> market<00:12:53.779> from<00:12:53.956> inside.
00:12:55.226 --> 00:13:00.675
And<00:12:55.548> so<00:12:56.432> it<00:12:57.011> has<00:12:57.188> been<00:12:57.332> successful,<00:12:57.959> he<00:12:58.297> now<00:12:58.940> just<00:12:59.953> Natura.
00:13:00.997 --> 00:13:07.711
Natura<00:13:01.559> company<00:13:02.378> is<00:13:02.587> a<00:13:02.844> listed<00:13:03.149> company<00:13:04.210> from<00:13:04.354> Brazil,<00:13:05.318> and<00:13:05.977> they<00:13:06.153> decided<00:13:06.539> to<00:13:06.635> be<00:13:06.780> a<00:13:06.860> good<00:13:07.005> company<00:13:07.262> for<00:13:07.374> the<00:13:07.487> world.
00:13:08.226 --> 00:13:17.350
They<00:13:08.691> looked<00:13:08.948> for<00:13:09.189> last-mile<00:13:10.410> logistics<00:13:11.503> companies<00:13:12.707> and<00:13:13.221> decided<00:13:13.848> to<00:13:14.812> work<00:13:15.117> with<00:13:15.294> Kharid<00:13:15.856> for<00:13:16.017> the<00:13:16.097> purpose<00:13:16.498> of<00:13:16.643> the<00:13:16.980> company.
00:13:18.490 --> 00:13:24.771
And<00:13:19.085> now<00:13:19.776> he's<00:13:20.434> closing<00:13:20.836> a<00:13:20.916> Series<00:13:21.462> A<00:13:21.800> led<00:13:22.041> by<00:13:22.281> Natura,<00:13:23.470> and<00:13:24.049> so<00:13:24.193> he's<00:13:24.354> doing<00:13:24.530> great.
00:13:25.012 --> 00:13:34.791
He's<00:13:25.559> actually<00:13:25.896> doing<00:13:26.121> great,<00:13:26.378> but<00:13:27.678> It's<00:13:27.886> not<00:13:28.063> the<00:13:28.287> impact<00:13:28.623> company<00:13:28.944> that<00:13:29.168> he<00:13:29.264> sold<00:13:29.649> to<00:13:29.729> me<00:13:29.969> at<00:13:30.065> the<00:13:30.145> beginning,<00:13:30.770> but<00:13:30.930> we<00:13:30.962> decided<00:13:31.347> together<00:13:31.651> that<00:13:31.731> it<00:13:31.828> was<00:13:32.068> better<00:13:32.308> to<00:13:33.093> take<00:13:33.253> the<00:13:33.317> market<00:13:33.654> and<00:13:33.814> then<00:13:34.054> change<00:13:34.247> it<00:13:34.375> from<00:13:34.471> inside.
00:13:35.737 --> 00:13:37.980
Yeah,<00:13:35.833> that's<00:13:36.313> kind<00:13:36.426> of<00:13:36.474> the<00:13:36.554> beauty<00:13:36.874> of<00:13:37.018> entrepreneurship,<00:13:37.675> right?
00:13:38.316 --> 00:13:47.304
Like<00:13:38.540> the<00:13:38.637> twists<00:13:38.957> and<00:13:39.037> turns,<00:13:39.261> like<00:13:39.422> the<00:13:39.502> way<00:13:39.742> you<00:13:39.838> start<00:13:41.104> and<00:13:41.584> your<00:13:41.745> vision<00:13:42.386> for,<00:13:43.347> you<00:13:43.443> know,<00:13:43.587> how<00:13:43.699> it's<00:13:43.908> all<00:13:43.988> going<00:13:44.068> to<00:13:44.228> go<00:13:44.789> is<00:13:44.965> never<00:13:45.269> exactly<00:13:46.231> the<00:13:46.391> way<00:13:46.791> you<00:13:46.888> planned.
00:13:47.849 --> 00:13:50.172
And<00:13:47.929> there's<00:13:48.153> all<00:13:48.249> the<00:13:48.329> twists<00:13:49.050> and<00:13:49.147> turns<00:13:49.355> inside<00:13:49.755> of<00:13:49.787> that.
00:13:51.037 --> 00:13:56.837
I<00:13:51.117> wonder<00:13:51.438> like,<00:13:51.694> what<00:13:51.934> is<00:13:52.159> the<00:13:52.895> Latin<00:13:53.232> America<00:13:54.273> startup<00:13:54.978> and<00:13:55.122> tech<00:13:55.523> and<00:13:55.619> business<00:13:56.020> community<00:13:56.580> like?
00:13:57.702 --> 00:14:03.218
You<00:13:57.782> know,<00:13:57.927> you're<00:13:58.424> probably<00:13:58.664> talking<00:13:59.225> at<00:13:59.546> this<00:13:59.706> point<00:14:00.171> right<00:14:00.348> now<00:14:00.652> to<00:14:00.973> a<00:14:01.005> mostly<00:14:01.470> American<00:14:02.112> or<00:14:02.192> European<00:14:02.737> audience.
00:14:03.635 --> 00:14:10.754
I<00:14:03.699> wonder<00:14:03.875> if<00:14:04.020> you<00:14:04.100> could<00:14:04.196> explain<00:14:04.517> like,<00:14:04.677> hey,<00:14:04.902> what's<00:14:05.703> happening<00:14:06.666> within<00:14:07.002> Latin<00:14:07.259> America<00:14:08.510> and<00:14:08.926> its<00:14:09.087> startup<00:14:09.969> and<00:14:10.129> tech<00:14:10.289> community?
00:14:11.251 --> 00:14:11.476
Yeah.
00:14:12.198 --> 00:14:15.100
So<00:14:13.240> it<00:14:13.400> has<00:14:13.657> been<00:14:13.753> growing<00:14:14.619> incredibly.
00:14:15.324 --> 00:14:20.119
In<00:14:15.421> 2021<00:14:16.222> was<00:14:16.928> the<00:14:17.184> region<00:14:17.569> that<00:14:18.451> had<00:14:18.692> the<00:14:18.788> biggest<00:14:19.092> growth.
00:14:20.776 --> 00:14:29.330
And<00:14:21.337> there's<00:14:21.915> a<00:14:21.931> new<00:14:22.396> wave<00:14:22.716> of<00:14:22.877> VC,<00:14:23.358> so<00:14:23.678> there's<00:14:25.122> probably<00:14:25.764> like<00:14:26.069> 300,<00:14:26.648> 400<00:14:27.129> VCs<00:14:27.531> investing<00:14:28.077> in<00:14:28.173> the<00:14:28.254> region,<00:14:28.736> from<00:14:28.960> the<00:14:29.041> region.
00:14:30.085 --> 00:14:42.003
And<00:14:31.466> what<00:14:31.691> we<00:14:31.787> have<00:14:31.948> seen<00:14:32.285> is<00:14:32.510> that<00:14:32.896> it's<00:14:33.715> probably<00:14:34.036> difficult,<00:14:34.759> different<00:14:35.546> from<00:14:35.964> other<00:14:36.204> places,<00:14:36.622> is<00:14:36.767> that<00:14:37.955> here<00:14:38.517> we<00:14:38.614> have<00:14:39.995> a<00:14:40.140> cultural<00:14:40.686> thing<00:14:40.862> of<00:14:41.023> give<00:14:41.264> back,<00:14:41.810> right?
00:14:42.147 --> 00:14:59.974
And<00:14:42.308> so<00:14:42.774> you<00:14:42.870> see<00:14:43.898> all<00:14:44.139> the<00:14:44.557> best<00:14:44.782> entrepreneurs<00:14:45.296> that<00:14:45.504> have<00:14:45.681> become<00:14:46.067> unicorns<00:14:47.753> in<00:14:47.994> the<00:14:48.074> last<00:14:48.251> few<00:14:48.653> years,<00:14:49.456> they<00:14:49.681> are<00:14:49.922> all<00:14:50.179> helping<00:14:51.046> other<00:14:51.238> entrepreneurs<00:14:51.783> coming<00:14:52.088> up,<00:14:52.408> you<00:14:52.440> know,<00:14:52.905> they<00:14:52.969> are<00:14:53.146> investing<00:14:53.707> in<00:14:54.027> VCs,<00:14:54.572> new<00:14:54.733> VCs,<00:14:55.310> they're<00:14:55.550> being<00:14:55.791> mentors,<00:14:56.512> they're<00:14:57.698> doing<00:14:58.275> education,<00:14:58.836> they're<00:14:59.061> teaching<00:14:59.462> what<00:14:59.638> they<00:14:59.798> do.
00:15:00.519 --> 00:15:07.653
And<00:15:00.680> so<00:15:01.866> I'm<00:15:02.443> seeing,<00:15:03.148> I've<00:15:03.405> been<00:15:03.629> here<00:15:03.790> in<00:15:03.886> the<00:15:03.934> ecosystem<00:15:04.351> for<00:15:04.463> a<00:15:04.511> long<00:15:04.687> time<00:15:05.248> and<00:15:05.345> I'm<00:15:05.569> seeing<00:15:05.970> better<00:15:06.210> and<00:15:06.371> better<00:15:06.691> founders<00:15:07.236> all<00:15:07.332> the<00:15:07.493> time.
00:15:08.278 --> 00:15:17.399
And<00:15:08.615> what<00:15:08.999> other<00:15:09.160> thing<00:15:09.320> that<00:15:09.480> happened<00:15:09.881> is<00:15:09.977> that<00:15:11.164> since<00:15:11.981> the<00:15:12.061> venture<00:15:12.366> capital<00:15:12.622> industry<00:15:13.103> became<00:15:13.424> sexy<00:15:13.969> here,<00:15:15.107> the<00:15:15.492> corporates,<00:15:16.213> they<00:15:16.614> wanted<00:15:16.854> to<00:15:17.015> jump<00:15:17.271> in.
00:15:17.592 --> 00:15:26.270
And<00:15:17.672> so<00:15:17.832> there's<00:15:18.137> a<00:15:18.153> lot<00:15:18.634> of<00:15:18.938> new<00:15:19.339> corporate<00:15:19.659> venture<00:15:19.916> capital<00:15:20.397> and<00:15:20.541> there's<00:15:20.717> a<00:15:20.734> lot<00:15:21.022> of<00:15:21.759> new<00:15:21.984> innovation<00:15:23.139> departments<00:15:24.728> in<00:15:24.889> these<00:15:25.210> big<00:15:25.852> companies.
00:15:26.575 --> 00:15:29.947
And<00:15:26.671> so<00:15:26.896> they<00:15:27.217> all<00:15:27.683> are<00:15:27.923> trying<00:15:28.261> to<00:15:28.903> work<00:15:29.224> with<00:15:29.401> startups.
00:15:30.027 --> 00:15:37.477
And<00:15:30.123> so<00:15:30.428> B2B<00:15:30.733> startups<00:15:31.311> now<00:15:32.034> are<00:15:32.114> doing<00:15:32.355> great<00:15:32.676> because<00:15:33.142> there's<00:15:33.720> a<00:15:33.800> new<00:15:34.362> openness<00:15:35.952> from<00:15:36.128> the<00:15:36.193> corporate<00:15:36.530> side<00:15:36.787> to<00:15:36.915> work<00:15:37.076> with<00:15:37.236> startups.
00:15:38.922 --> 00:15:50.949
What<00:15:39.035> advice<00:15:39.420> do<00:15:39.484> you<00:15:39.581> have<00:15:39.806> for<00:15:39.902> entrepreneurs<00:15:40.624> in<00:15:40.769> that<00:15:41.010> region<00:15:41.427> in<00:15:41.572> terms<00:15:41.909> of<00:15:41.989> like,<00:15:42.294> these<00:15:42.471> are<00:15:42.535> the<00:15:42.632> types<00:15:42.888> of<00:15:42.953> companies<00:15:43.354> you<00:15:43.418> should<00:15:43.515> be<00:15:43.595> going<00:15:43.980> after,<00:15:44.398> this<00:15:44.574> is<00:15:44.703> the<00:15:44.799> type<00:15:45.056> of<00:15:46.068> industry<00:15:47.127> you<00:15:47.288> should<00:15:47.449> pursue,<00:15:48.316> this<00:15:48.492> is<00:15:48.653> what<00:15:48.749> it's<00:15:48.894> going<00:15:49.054> to<00:15:49.118> take<00:15:49.311> in<00:15:49.440> order<00:15:49.616> to<00:15:49.697> build<00:15:49.921> a<00:15:49.937> successful<00:15:50.499> company?
00:15:51.383 --> 00:15:53.471
What<00:15:51.527> advice<00:15:51.945> do<00:15:52.009> you<00:15:52.105> have<00:15:52.892> on<00:15:53.053> that<00:15:53.230> front?
00:15:53.856 --> 00:16:01.662
Well,<00:15:54.820> obviously<00:15:55.173> there's<00:15:55.398> a<00:15:55.414> lot<00:15:55.623> of<00:15:55.783> advice<00:15:56.426> for<00:15:56.522> new<00:15:56.602> entrepreneurs,<00:15:57.165> but<00:15:57.727> I<00:15:58.032> always<00:15:58.289> say<00:15:58.450> that<00:15:58.771> you<00:15:58.867> need<00:15:59.028> support<00:15:59.413> with<00:15:59.574> people<00:15:59.815> that<00:15:59.943> already<00:16:00.377> did<00:16:00.859> what<00:16:01.003> you're<00:16:01.164> about<00:16:01.405> to<00:16:01.501> do.
00:16:02.385 --> 00:16:07.380
Obviously,<00:16:03.107> there's<00:16:03.332> a<00:16:03.348> lot<00:16:03.509> of<00:16:03.669> risk<00:16:03.975> when<00:16:04.151> you<00:16:04.312> don't<00:16:04.617> know<00:16:05.195> what's<00:16:05.436> going<00:16:05.533> to<00:16:05.661> happen<00:16:06.159> with<00:16:06.303> your<00:16:06.400> company,<00:16:06.641> with<00:16:06.882> your<00:16:07.107> vision.
00:16:07.942 --> 00:16:14.961
And<00:16:08.006> so<00:16:09.371> just<00:16:09.757> reach<00:16:10.014> out<00:16:10.174> to<00:16:10.495> other<00:16:10.656> founders<00:16:11.042> that<00:16:11.218> did<00:16:11.363> the<00:16:11.395> same<00:16:11.684> that<00:16:11.845> you<00:16:11.925> want<00:16:12.086> to<00:16:12.182> do,<00:16:12.503> and<00:16:12.889> you<00:16:12.953> will<00:16:13.146> get<00:16:14.109> beautiful<00:16:14.575> insights.
00:16:15.217 --> 00:16:20.661
And<00:16:15.394> there's<00:16:16.037> really,<00:16:16.599> really<00:16:16.904> a<00:16:16.920> lot<00:16:17.065> of<00:16:17.305> openness<00:16:17.723> from<00:16:17.964> these<00:16:18.301> successful<00:16:18.767> founders<00:16:19.490> to<00:16:19.570> help<00:16:20.116> new<00:16:20.212> entrepreneurs.
00:16:20.725 --> 00:16:21.430
That's,<00:16:21.094> that's<00:16:21.318> one.
00:16:22.216 --> 00:16:23.899
The<00:16:22.360> other<00:16:22.536> one<00:16:22.777> is<00:16:23.162> about<00:16:23.402> markets.
00:16:24.460 --> 00:16:37.060
Now<00:16:24.700> since,<00:16:25.005> you<00:16:25.037> know,<00:16:25.422> everything<00:16:25.758> is<00:16:25.903> going<00:16:26.127> down,<00:16:27.666> you<00:16:27.762> see<00:16:28.147> that<00:16:28.387> luxury,<00:16:29.173> you<00:16:29.205> know,<00:16:29.429> everything<00:16:29.830> that<00:16:29.974> is<00:16:30.712> products<00:16:31.048> or<00:16:31.113> services<00:16:31.674> to<00:16:32.090> improve<00:16:33.196> and<00:16:33.677> do<00:16:33.902> things<00:16:34.142> that<00:16:34.303> we<00:16:34.335> never,<00:16:34.799> never<00:16:35.040> did<00:16:35.200> before,<00:16:36.082> are<00:16:36.226> not<00:16:36.402> doing<00:16:36.627> that<00:16:36.787> great.
00:16:37.525 --> 00:16:42.574
And<00:16:37.605> there's<00:16:37.829> a<00:16:37.845> lot<00:16:38.070> of<00:16:39.144> startups<00:16:39.913> solving<00:16:40.650> more<00:16:41.051> basic<00:16:41.452> needs<00:16:41.933> that<00:16:42.013> are<00:16:42.093> doing<00:16:42.318> great.
00:16:42.654 --> 00:17:01.924
And<00:16:42.750> so<00:16:43.696> if,<00:16:44.017> if<00:16:44.177> you're,<00:16:44.722> you<00:16:44.802> know,<00:16:45.043> trying<00:16:45.299> to<00:16:45.684> build<00:16:45.876> a<00:16:45.940> startup<00:16:46.582> and<00:16:46.982> you<00:16:47.063> have<00:16:47.207> your<00:16:47.303> vision<00:16:47.928> and<00:16:48.104> you<00:16:48.185> don't<00:16:48.345> know<00:16:48.810> where<00:16:48.986> to<00:16:49.130> start<00:16:49.387> with,<00:16:50.092> start<00:16:50.349> with<00:16:50.445> something<00:16:50.830> basic<00:16:51.311> that<00:16:51.471> really<00:16:51.840> help<00:16:52.193> people<00:16:53.060> get<00:16:53.221> along<00:16:53.478> with<00:16:53.558> their<00:16:53.718> lives,<00:16:54.200> and,<00:16:54.505> and<00:16:54.602> then<00:16:54.843> you<00:16:54.923> can<00:16:55.629> do<00:16:55.967> like<00:16:56.448> amazing,<00:16:56.834> amazing<00:16:57.171> stuff,<00:16:57.556> you<00:16:57.589> know,<00:16:57.813> to<00:16:58.038> really<00:16:59.419> do<00:16:59.644> cutting-edge<00:17:00.222> technologies<00:17:00.865> and<00:17:01.186> everything.
00:17:02.133 --> 00:17:07.866
Anyways,<00:17:02.615> we<00:17:02.711> have<00:17:03.016> everything<00:17:03.338> from<00:17:03.498> the<00:17:03.578> US<00:17:03.900> coming<00:17:04.157> to—<00:17:04.558> coming<00:17:04.799> here,<00:17:05.040> so<00:17:05.843> you're<00:17:06.068> doing<00:17:06.244> great<00:17:06.469> stuff<00:17:06.822> and<00:17:07.047> we<00:17:07.208> receive<00:17:07.529> it<00:17:07.674> later.
00:17:07.930 --> 00:17:09.472
So,<00:17:08.525> so<00:17:08.653> we<00:17:08.749> don't<00:17:08.926> need<00:17:09.055> to<00:17:09.151> do<00:17:09.312> that.
00:17:09.536 --> 00:17:15.944
We,<00:17:09.841> we<00:17:09.938> just<00:17:10.259> need<00:17:10.420> to<00:17:10.982> improve<00:17:11.447> the<00:17:11.704> quality<00:17:12.347> of<00:17:12.491> life<00:17:12.748> of<00:17:12.893> people<00:17:13.150> in<00:17:13.294> the<00:17:13.374> region,<00:17:14.113> and<00:17:14.209> there's<00:17:14.515> a<00:17:14.755> lot<00:17:14.996> of<00:17:15.093> opportunities<00:17:15.719> over<00:17:15.783> there.
00:17:17.164 --> 00:17:19.011
In<00:17:17.245> your<00:17:17.405> opinion,<00:17:17.807> what<00:17:18.048> makes<00:17:18.304> a<00:17:18.449> good<00:17:18.754> leader?
00:17:19.894 --> 00:17:41.319
Wow,<00:17:20.921> obviously<00:17:23.264> I've<00:17:23.730> been<00:17:23.970> a<00:17:23.986> leader<00:17:24.307> for<00:17:24.853> a<00:17:24.869> long<00:17:25.254> time<00:17:26.217> and<00:17:26.378> I<00:17:26.618> think<00:17:27.036> that<00:17:27.999> being<00:17:28.304> empathetic<00:17:29.924> was<00:17:30.229> one<00:17:30.326> of<00:17:30.406> the<00:17:30.566> things<00:17:30.871> that<00:17:30.968> I<00:17:31.192> didn't<00:17:31.433> have<00:17:31.626> at<00:17:31.754> the<00:17:31.786> beginning<00:17:33.375> and<00:17:33.600> changed<00:17:33.953> my<00:17:34.803> way<00:17:34.964> of<00:17:35.124> leading<00:17:35.542> and<00:17:36.007> I<00:17:36.168> feel<00:17:36.360> like<00:17:36.826> I<00:17:37.227> did<00:17:37.387> a<00:17:37.628> really<00:17:37.949> big<00:17:38.110> step<00:17:38.430> up<00:17:38.751> in<00:17:39.153> my<00:17:39.185> leadership<00:17:39.730> skills<00:17:40.533> to<00:17:40.677> be<00:17:40.758> empathetic.
00:17:42.106 --> 00:17:46.775
Obviously<00:17:43.004> to<00:17:43.101> have<00:17:43.245> a<00:17:43.325> clear<00:17:43.630> vision<00:17:44.128> is<00:17:44.529> something<00:17:45.011> that<00:17:45.300> you<00:17:45.396> will<00:17:45.556> probably<00:17:45.877> have<00:17:46.134> if<00:17:46.294> you're<00:17:46.438> a<00:17:46.454> leader.
00:17:47.256 --> 00:17:52.758
But<00:17:47.513> the<00:17:47.962> most<00:17:48.155> important<00:17:48.524> thing<00:17:48.636> is<00:17:48.764> to<00:17:48.860> be<00:17:49.727> clear<00:17:50.384> with<00:17:50.529> your<00:17:50.625> vision<00:17:51.186> and<00:17:51.347> to<00:17:51.491> how<00:17:51.668> to<00:17:51.748> communicate<00:17:52.229> that<00:17:52.389> vision.
00:17:53.175 --> 00:17:56.592
I<00:17:53.256> think<00:17:53.368> that's<00:17:54.795> a<00:17:55.261> really<00:17:55.742> helpful<00:17:56.239> skill.
00:17:57.827 --> 00:18:00.329
And<00:17:59.832> what<00:18:00.009> else?
00:18:00.490 --> 00:18:01.853
Honesty,<00:18:01.436> I<00:18:01.468> would<00:18:01.613> say.
00:18:02.238 --> 00:18:06.184
If<00:18:02.334> you're<00:18:02.415> a<00:18:02.479> leader<00:18:02.735> that<00:18:02.880> is<00:18:03.056> not<00:18:03.281> honest,<00:18:03.858> you<00:18:03.939> can<00:18:04.099> be<00:18:04.356> a<00:18:04.420> leader<00:18:04.821> for<00:18:05.286> a<00:18:05.302> short<00:18:05.655> period<00:18:05.863> of<00:18:05.944> time.
00:18:06.489 --> 00:18:08.622
Yeah,<00:18:07.467> that's<00:18:07.949> a<00:18:08.013> good<00:18:08.109> way<00:18:08.205> to<00:18:08.269> put<00:18:08.510> that.
00:18:10.114 --> 00:18:12.969
There's<00:18:11.959> a<00:18:12.039> lot<00:18:12.215> of<00:18:12.344> truth<00:18:12.600> in<00:18:12.761> that.
00:18:14.640 --> 00:18:16.722
So<00:18:15.818> what's<00:18:16.077> next<00:18:16.399> for<00:18:16.625> you?
00:18:16.803 --> 00:18:22.130
Are<00:18:16.948> you<00:18:16.981> just<00:18:17.158> going<00:18:17.287> to<00:18:17.368> keep<00:18:17.675> doing<00:18:18.982> the<00:18:19.144> VC<00:18:19.563> stuff<00:18:20.193> for<00:18:20.677> as<00:18:20.838> long<00:18:21.064> as<00:18:21.145> you<00:18:21.242> possibly<00:18:21.645> can?
00:18:22.275 --> 00:18:25.891
Obviously,<00:18:22.775> maybe<00:18:23.018> there's<00:18:23.260> plans<00:18:23.502> to<00:18:24.470> write<00:18:24.648> a<00:18:24.713> book<00:18:24.955> down<00:18:25.181> the<00:18:25.261> road.
00:18:26.327 --> 00:18:27.909
What<00:18:26.634> are<00:18:26.795> you<00:18:26.892> planning<00:18:27.199> on<00:18:27.295> doing<00:18:27.602> next?
00:18:29.530 --> 00:18:30.107
Thank<00:18:29.634> you<00:18:29.722> for<00:18:29.827> the<00:18:29.914> question.
00:18:31.826 --> 00:18:33.669
Obviously,<00:18:32.068> Impacto<00:18:32.311> Investissement<00:18:32.747> is<00:18:32.812> still<00:18:33.281> growing.
00:18:33.782 --> 00:18:39.296
We're<00:18:34.979> closing<00:18:35.318> now,<00:18:35.561> actually,<00:18:35.949> you<00:18:36.046> know,<00:18:36.208> in<00:18:36.531> 2<00:18:36.677> more<00:18:36.838> months<00:18:37.032> I'm<00:18:37.501> doing<00:18:37.663> the<00:18:37.809> final<00:18:38.051> closing<00:18:38.407> of<00:18:38.552> this<00:18:38.779> first<00:18:39.038> fund.
00:18:39.662 --> 00:18:41.767
And<00:18:39.742> then<00:18:39.967> we're<00:18:40.063> gonna<00:18:40.288> do<00:18:40.481> Fund<00:18:40.771> 2,<00:18:40.947> Fund<00:18:41.189> 3,<00:18:41.414> Fund<00:18:41.590> 4.
00:18:41.831 --> 00:18:50.049
I<00:18:42.056> actually<00:18:42.378> have<00:18:42.635> GPs,<00:18:43.583> better<00:18:43.760> GPs<00:18:44.082> than<00:18:44.242> myself,<00:18:44.708> you<00:18:44.741> know,<00:18:45.046> people<00:18:45.271> with<00:18:45.448> more<00:18:45.592> experience<00:18:46.412> coming<00:18:46.798> into<00:18:46.991> Impacta<00:18:47.939> to<00:18:48.180> be<00:18:48.582> GPs<00:18:48.905> at<00:18:49.066> the<00:18:49.630> next<00:18:49.856> funds.
00:18:50.146 --> 00:18:51.178
So<00:18:50.356> that's<00:18:50.468> gonna<00:18:50.742> continue.
00:18:51.790 --> 00:19:03.089
But<00:18:52.596> what<00:18:52.709> I'm<00:18:52.919> building<00:18:53.241> now<00:18:53.402> is<00:18:54.370> GoImpacta,<00:18:55.689> which<00:18:55.771> is<00:18:55.886> actually<00:18:56.214> like,<00:18:57.857> you<00:18:57.923> would<00:18:58.087> say<00:18:58.350> a<00:18:58.366> post-acceleration,<00:19:02.207> maybe<00:19:02.534> education.
00:19:03.840 --> 00:19:21.320
The<00:19:04.574> purpose<00:19:04.999> of<00:19:05.145> GoImpacta<00:19:06.060> is<00:19:06.304> to<00:19:06.533> help<00:19:06.876> the,<00:19:07.482> entrepreneurial<00:19:08.460> ecosystem<00:19:09.727> to<00:19:10.689> validate<00:19:11.154> itself<00:19:12.196> in<00:19:12.356> Latin<00:19:12.613> America,<00:19:13.238> because<00:19:13.495> the<00:19:13.575> best<00:19:13.800> companies<00:19:14.136> from<00:19:14.297> here,<00:19:15.243> they,<00:19:15.579> they<00:19:15.804> end<00:19:16.044> up<00:19:16.237> in<00:19:16.365> the<00:19:16.526> US<00:19:16.862> or<00:19:17.007> Europe,<00:19:17.664> you<00:19:17.728> know,<00:19:18.466> doing,<00:19:19.267> you<00:19:19.332> know,<00:19:19.909> an<00:19:19.989> IPO<00:19:20.294> and<00:19:20.711> acquisition.
00:19:21.753 --> 00:19:25.858
And<00:19:21.833> so<00:19:22.058> we<00:19:22.154> want,<00:19:22.699> we<00:19:22.859> want<00:19:23.100> the<00:19:23.340> industry<00:19:23.918> to<00:19:24.078> be<00:19:24.463> fully<00:19:24.880> completed<00:19:25.425> over<00:19:25.601> here.
00:19:25.922 --> 00:19:33.170
And<00:19:26.018> so<00:19:26.323> we're<00:19:26.467> going<00:19:26.643> to<00:19:26.708> do<00:19:26.804> a<00:19:26.868> lot<00:19:27.028> of<00:19:27.125> stuff<00:19:28.552> for<00:19:28.728> the<00:19:28.872> ecosystem,<00:19:30.075> um,<00:19:30.572> to<00:19:31.053> help<00:19:31.278> the<00:19:31.438> ecosystem<00:19:32.175> grow<00:19:32.416> and<00:19:32.496> be<00:19:32.592> successful.
00:19:33.362 --> 00:19:50.406
My,<00:19:33.683> my,<00:19:33.923> actually<00:19:34.164> my<00:19:34.404> business<00:19:35.160> If<00:19:35.289> I<00:19:35.370> want<00:19:35.694> to<00:19:35.953> have<00:19:36.212> Impact<00:19:36.601> VC<00:19:37.977> for<00:19:38.203> a<00:19:38.284> long<00:19:38.462> period<00:19:38.624> of<00:19:38.786> time<00:19:39.110> and<00:19:39.272> be<00:19:42.672> a<00:19:42.914> big<00:19:43.141> firm<00:19:43.481> in<00:19:43.530> Latin<00:19:43.723> America,<00:19:44.514> I<00:19:44.611> need<00:19:45.579> the<00:19:45.676> ecosystem<00:19:46.451> to<00:19:47.581> be<00:19:47.985> proven<00:19:48.485> and/or<00:19:48.808> validate<00:19:49.712> itself.
00:19:50.906 --> 00:19:53.372
And<00:19:51.003> so<00:19:51.374> my<00:19:51.552> business<00:19:52.214> is<00:19:52.456> actually<00:19:52.682> the<00:19:52.762> ecosystem.
00:19:53.565 --> 00:19:54.497
And<00:19:53.646> so<00:19:53.871> that's<00:19:54.031> what<00:19:54.112> I'm<00:19:54.272> doing.
00:19:55.252 --> 00:20:03.719
I'm<00:19:55.895> working<00:19:56.297> with<00:19:56.618> government,<00:19:57.742> corporates,<00:19:59.590> angel<00:19:59.831> investors,<00:20:01.277> successful<00:20:01.839> founders,<00:20:03.093> other<00:20:03.254> VCs.
00:20:04.361 --> 00:20:11.553
I<00:20:04.683> have<00:20:04.779> a<00:20:04.859> platform<00:20:05.421> where<00:20:05.646> I<00:20:05.806> help<00:20:06.143> other<00:20:06.384> VCs<00:20:06.850> to<00:20:07.010> help<00:20:07.347> to<00:20:08.166> see<00:20:08.535> everything<00:20:09.017> that<00:20:09.113> I<00:20:09.274> see<00:20:09.595> in<00:20:09.675> my<00:20:09.916> deal<00:20:10.077> flow,<00:20:10.783> and<00:20:10.943> they<00:20:11.120> say<00:20:11.441> too.
00:20:12.228 --> 00:20:19.355
Um,<00:20:13.207> and<00:20:13.351> so,<00:20:13.785> so<00:20:14.026> I'm<00:20:14.170> building<00:20:14.411> the<00:20:14.555> ecosystem,<00:20:15.214> and<00:20:15.294> I<00:20:15.454> think<00:20:15.695> that's<00:20:15.792> going<00:20:15.936> to<00:20:16.016> be,<00:20:16.899> that's<00:20:17.156> going<00:20:17.236> to<00:20:17.285> be<00:20:17.622> a<00:20:17.702> big<00:20:17.927> part<00:20:18.039> of<00:20:18.168> my<00:20:18.408> efforts<00:20:18.810> in<00:20:18.890> the<00:20:18.970> coming<00:20:19.227> years.
00:20:19.564 --> 00:20:20.816
And<00:20:19.853> obviously<00:20:20.271> to<00:20:20.415> write<00:20:20.592> a<00:20:20.656> book.
00:20:21.378 --> 00:20:22.903
Yeah,<00:20:21.699> yeah,<00:20:21.940> you're<00:20:22.036> definitely<00:20:22.341> writing<00:20:22.598> a<00:20:22.679> book.
00:20:23.000 --> 00:20:29.357
I<00:20:23.080> feel<00:20:23.224> like<00:20:23.401> you<00:20:23.481> have<00:20:23.706> no<00:20:23.883> choice<00:20:24.284> there<00:20:25.006> at<00:20:25.151> this<00:20:25.327> point,<00:20:25.793> given<00:20:25.970> everything<00:20:26.997> else<00:20:27.238> that's<00:20:27.479> been<00:20:27.671> said<00:20:28.378> has,<00:20:28.683> has<00:20:28.923> come<00:20:29.164> true.
00:20:29.966 --> 00:20:32.773
Um,<00:20:30.929> what's<00:20:31.105> it<00:20:31.169> like<00:20:31.410> working<00:20:31.650> with<00:20:31.746> the<00:20:31.891> government<00:20:32.308> down<00:20:32.612> there?
00:20:33.494 --> 00:20:39.235
Um,<00:20:34.376> okay,<00:20:34.617> in<00:20:34.777> Chile<00:20:35.675> we<00:20:35.756> have<00:20:35.980> like<00:20:36.237> the,<00:20:36.557> the<00:20:36.878> perfect,<00:20:37.680> the<00:20:37.760> best<00:20:38.001> example<00:20:38.418> in<00:20:38.546> Latin<00:20:38.786> America.
00:20:39.444 --> 00:20:43.020
They,<00:20:39.765> they<00:20:40.230> put<00:20:40.390> a<00:20:40.406> lot<00:20:40.583> of<00:20:40.727> money<00:20:40.967> into<00:20:41.609> VCs,<00:20:42.234> into<00:20:42.411> founders.
00:20:43.373 --> 00:20:48.905
We<00:20:43.453> have<00:20:43.597> a<00:20:43.678> program<00:20:44.014> where<00:20:44.175> we<00:20:44.495> bring<00:20:44.960> founders<00:20:45.377> from<00:20:45.554> abroad<00:20:45.955> to,<00:20:46.484> you<00:20:46.516> know,<00:20:46.981> develop<00:20:47.286> their<00:20:47.879> startups<00:20:48.488> in<00:20:48.649> Chile.
00:20:49.467 --> 00:21:05.490
Now<00:20:49.627> we<00:20:49.771> have<00:20:49.868> a<00:20:49.948> program<00:20:50.349> to<00:20:50.493> bring<00:20:50.750> VCs<00:20:51.551> from<00:20:51.664> abroad,<00:20:52.097> and<00:20:52.337> they're<00:20:53.059> actually<00:20:53.861> tripling<00:20:54.262> your<00:20:54.438> money<00:20:55.176> if<00:20:55.304> you<00:20:55.464> bring<00:20:55.721> like<00:20:56.123> $10<00:20:56.285> million<00:20:56.916> to<00:20:57.419> invest<00:20:57.742> in<00:20:57.823> Chile,<00:20:58.131> they<00:20:58.212> will<00:20:58.455> give<00:20:58.617> you<00:20:59.184> $30<00:20:59.427> million<00:21:00.318> extra<00:21:00.561> and<00:21:00.739> you<00:21:00.868> will<00:21:01.063> be<00:21:01.322> able<00:21:02.261> to<00:21:02.358> invest<00:21:02.925> $40<00:21:03.201> million<00:21:03.476> and,<00:21:03.573> you<00:21:03.654> know,<00:21:03.962> have<00:21:04.302> bigger<00:21:04.611> management<00:21:05.018> fees<00:21:05.197> and<00:21:05.262> everything.
00:21:06.076 --> 00:21:17.435
And<00:21:06.174> so<00:21:07.786> the<00:21:07.883> way<00:21:08.046> they<00:21:08.290> do<00:21:08.518> it<00:21:08.714> is<00:21:08.860> to<00:21:09.007> be<00:21:09.332> really<00:21:09.479> flexible<00:21:11.146> in<00:21:11.324> terms<00:21:11.712> of<00:21:11.970> designing<00:21:12.617> the<00:21:12.860> different<00:21:13.248> programs<00:21:13.733> for<00:21:13.894> different<00:21:14.315> types<00:21:14.638> of<00:21:15.511> actors<00:21:16.578> in<00:21:16.724> this<00:21:16.983> ecosystem.
00:21:18.984 --> 00:21:24.708
But<00:21:19.211> obviously<00:21:19.795> it's,<00:21:21.498> you<00:21:21.644> have<00:21:21.838> to,<00:21:22.146> it<00:21:22.390> is<00:21:22.552> money<00:21:22.860> from<00:21:23.281> the<00:21:23.508> taxes<00:21:23.914> from<00:21:24.498> Chileans.
00:21:25.084 --> 00:21:34.545
And<00:21:25.246> so<00:21:26.621> you<00:21:26.702> need<00:21:28.319> to<00:21:29.937> verify<00:21:30.907> that<00:21:31.311> you<00:21:31.489> spend<00:21:31.942> your<00:21:32.104> money<00:21:32.444> as<00:21:32.670> you<00:21:32.751> said<00:21:33.091> you<00:21:33.252> were<00:21:33.560> going<00:21:34.061> to<00:21:34.222> spend.
00:21:34.883 --> 00:21:43.152
And<00:21:34.947> so<00:21:35.189> there's<00:21:35.431> a<00:21:35.447> lot<00:21:35.592> of<00:21:35.818> work,<00:21:36.236> of<00:21:36.462> paperwork,<00:21:37.590> and<00:21:39.604> due<00:21:39.701> diligence<00:21:42.118> being<00:21:42.359> done<00:21:42.763> by<00:21:42.925> them.
00:21:43.558 --> 00:21:45.633
But<00:21:43.655> that's<00:21:44.952> the<00:21:45.098> trade-off,<00:21:45.439> right?
00:21:46.152 --> 00:21:46.347
Yeah.
00:21:46.639 --> 00:21:47.077
Interesting.
00:21:47.304 --> 00:21:47.709
Yeah.
00:21:47.936 --> 00:21:49.120
I<00:21:48.342> hear<00:21:48.488> what<00:21:48.536> you're<00:21:48.666> saying<00:21:49.007> there.
00:21:50.070 --> 00:21:54.708
Finally,<00:21:50.916> David,<00:21:51.241> and<00:21:51.404> again,<00:21:51.713> I<00:21:51.811> can't<00:21:52.055> thank<00:21:52.218> you<00:21:52.283> enough<00:21:52.967> for<00:21:53.178> coming<00:21:53.504> on<00:21:53.829> and<00:21:53.911> sharing<00:21:54.236> your<00:21:54.301> experience<00:21:54.513> and<00:21:54.562> your<00:21:54.610> wisdom.
00:21:56.087 --> 00:21:59.042
And<00:21:56.665> everything<00:21:57.051> you've<00:21:57.227> done<00:21:57.548> in<00:21:57.709> this<00:21:57.950> world<00:21:58.287> and<00:21:58.415> continue<00:21:58.753> to<00:21:58.897> do.
00:22:00.198 --> 00:22:11.887
We<00:22:00.423> ask<00:22:00.519> the<00:22:00.599> same<00:22:00.824> question<00:22:01.322> at<00:22:01.466> the<00:22:01.563> end<00:22:01.659> of<00:22:01.803> every<00:22:02.044> interview<00:22:02.446> for<00:22:02.606> CEO.com<00:22:03.730> because<00:22:04.035> we<00:22:04.212> believe<00:22:04.838> that<00:22:05.079> the<00:22:05.159> chances<00:22:05.657> that<00:22:05.753> are<00:22:05.898> given<00:22:06.155> are<00:22:06.299> just<00:22:06.685> as<00:22:07.584> important<00:22:08.371> and<00:22:08.483> impactful<00:22:09.495> as<00:22:09.655> the<00:22:09.735> chances<00:22:10.795> that<00:22:10.940> we<00:22:11.036> take<00:22:11.277> on<00:22:11.341> ourselves.
00:22:12.320 --> 00:22:16.993
And<00:22:12.385> I<00:22:12.465> wonder<00:22:12.866> if<00:22:12.963> there's<00:22:13.188> an<00:22:13.220> example<00:22:13.701> of<00:22:13.766> someone<00:22:13.990> who<00:22:14.151> gave<00:22:14.472> you<00:22:14.633> a<00:22:14.713> chance<00:22:15.211> to<00:22:15.773> get<00:22:15.997> you<00:22:16.158> to<00:22:16.254> where<00:22:16.479> you<00:22:16.656> are<00:22:16.816> today.
00:22:17.603 --> 00:22:21.698
I<00:22:17.619> know<00:22:17.764> you've<00:22:18.245> already<00:22:18.406> mentioned<00:22:18.823> the,<00:22:19.289> um,<00:22:20.028> uh,<00:22:21.120> What<00:22:21.232> is<00:22:21.329> it<00:22:21.457> called?
00:22:21.940 --> 00:22:24.030
The<00:22:23.226> Astrologist?
00:22:24.529 --> 00:22:26.555
The<00:22:24.593> Astrologist,<00:22:25.413> Miguel<00:22:26.057> Tichelli.
00:22:26.780 --> 00:22:28.549
That's<00:22:27.021> the<00:22:27.182> name,<00:22:27.826> Miguel<00:22:28.147> Tichelli.
00:22:30.096 --> 00:22:37.446
I<00:22:30.161> would<00:22:30.259> say<00:22:30.502> the<00:22:31.378> other<00:22:31.540> one<00:22:32.108> is<00:22:32.595> Alvaro<00:22:34.964> Silverstein,<00:22:35.548> which<00:22:35.953> is<00:22:36.083> the<00:22:36.164> CEO<00:22:36.748> of<00:22:36.992> Wheel<00:22:37.154> the<00:22:37.219> World.
00:22:38.732 --> 00:22:44.751
We<00:22:39.684> were,<00:22:40.588> we<00:22:40.749> played<00:22:40.991> together<00:22:41.395> tennis<00:22:41.960> when<00:22:42.105> we<00:22:42.266> were<00:22:42.766> young,<00:22:43.250> and<00:22:43.412> then<00:22:43.977> he<00:22:44.122> had<00:22:44.235> an<00:22:44.364> accident.
00:22:45.187 --> 00:22:49.291
He's<00:22:45.509> now<00:22:45.751> in<00:22:45.897> a<00:22:45.993> wheelchair,<00:22:46.865> and<00:22:47.026> he<00:22:47.204> invited<00:22:47.591> me<00:22:47.752> to<00:22:48.337> be<00:22:48.501> part<00:22:48.666> of<00:22:48.748> his<00:22:48.912> company.
00:22:49.406 --> 00:22:51.034
He<00:22:49.636> opened<00:22:50.212> his<00:22:50.392> company<00:22:50.721> for<00:22:50.820> me,<00:22:50.869> and<00:22:50.919> he<00:22:50.952> teach<00:22:51.001> me.
00:22:53.020 --> 00:23:00.170
He<00:22:53.212> taught<00:22:53.534> me<00:22:54.177> that<00:22:56.748> in<00:22:56.892> his<00:22:57.053> company,<00:22:57.728> everybody,<00:22:58.355> everybody<00:22:58.772> is<00:22:58.917> doing<00:22:59.383> the<00:22:59.479> world<00:22:59.721> accessible.
00:23:00.524 --> 00:23:02.405
And<00:23:00.604> so<00:23:00.829> you<00:23:00.990> ask<00:23:01.327> the<00:23:01.424> marketer,<00:23:01.874> hey,<00:23:02.051> what<00:23:02.115> are<00:23:02.195> you<00:23:02.260> doing?
00:23:02.775 --> 00:23:03.420
The<00:23:02.840> world<00:23:02.937> accessible.
00:23:03.743 --> 00:23:05.210
And<00:23:04.049> what<00:23:04.162> about<00:23:04.452> you,<00:23:04.629> the<00:23:04.855> finance<00:23:05.177> guy?
00:23:05.274 --> 00:23:06.080
What<00:23:05.339> are<00:23:05.419> you<00:23:05.516> doing<00:23:05.742> right<00:23:05.871> now?
00:23:06.306 --> 00:23:07.499
I'm<00:23:06.644> making<00:23:06.870> the<00:23:06.951> world<00:23:07.209> accessible.
00:23:08.028 --> 00:23:18.556
And<00:23:08.076> so<00:23:08.496> he<00:23:08.803> taught<00:23:09.062> me<00:23:09.223> that<00:23:10.919> the<00:23:11.065> best<00:23:11.307> way<00:23:11.646> that<00:23:11.808> you<00:23:11.888> can<00:23:12.115> actually<00:23:12.696> lead<00:23:13.568> and<00:23:14.780> share<00:23:15.200> the<00:23:15.361> purpose<00:23:15.910> of<00:23:16.314> you<00:23:16.460> personally<00:23:18.002> with<00:23:18.153> your<00:23:18.321> company.
00:23:19.287 --> 00:23:19.915
That's<00:23:19.464> incredible.
00:23:20.108 --> 00:23:21.574
David,<00:23:20.430> thank<00:23:20.607> you<00:23:20.736> so<00:23:20.849> much<00:23:21.074> for<00:23:21.219> coming<00:23:21.461> on.
00:23:21.622 --> 00:23:22.540
Really<00:23:21.880> appreciate<00:23:22.443> it.
00:23:22.991 --> 00:23:24.697
