We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the site and deliver our services, including payment processing, email delivery, event registration, livestream hosting, and site analytics. These vendors are permitted to use your information only to perform services on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.

4. Email Communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing and newsletter emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email or by contacting us at contact@ceo.com. Note that even if you unsubscribe from newsletters, we may still send you transactional emails related to your account, such as subscription confirmations and billing notices.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand how it is used.

Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function. They enable things like logging in, remembering your subscription status, and processing payments. You cannot opt out of these without disabling the site.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site, which pages are most popular, and where readers come from. We use this data in aggregate to improve our content and experience.

Email tracking allows us to see whether newsletters were opened and which links were clicked. This helps us understand what our readers find valuable. You can disable this by turning off automatic image loading in your email client.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the site, including logging in and accessing subscriber content.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you cancel your subscription or close your account, we will retain your information for a reasonable period afterward to fulfill any outstanding obligations, resolve disputes, and comply with legal requirements. When we no longer need your information, we delete or anonymize it.

7. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encrypted transmission via HTTPS, limited access to personal data by staff and contractors, and use of reputable third-party providers with their own security standards.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and will notify you promptly if a breach affects your information.

8. Children's Privacy

CEO.com is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@ceo.com and we will delete it promptly.

We do not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Deletion requests do not extend to published journalism. Content we have published, including stories that mention you, Letters, and public civic bounty disclosures, is retained and published under our editorial standards and applicable law.

Our legal basis for processing your personal information is generally contract performance (to deliver your subscription and administer civic bounties), legitimate interests (to operate and improve the site and publish journalism in the public interest), and your consent (for marketing communications).
