Forescout CEO Barry Mainz: How AI and cybersecurity are shaping the future

Barry Mainz built an AI that refuses to act
Barry Mainz will let a language model tell a security analyst where to look. He will not let it touch anything.
The people attacking his customers have no such restraint.
Mainz runs Forescout Technologies, which sells to banks, hospitals, power utilities, manufacturers, and governments. Its platform watches the devices nobody thinks of as computers, the escalator controller and the infusion pump and the signaling system on a rail line, and decides what is allowed on the network. The business was built on Network Access Control, a category Mainz says Forescout created more than two decades ago on a simple premise: when something tries to connect, check whether it belongs, and if it does not, block it or shunt it somewhere harmless.
"We've spent so much money securing traditional devices that the bad actors are saying, let's go after maybe some of this stuff that's been sitting out there for 20 years," Mainz said on the CEO.com Podcast. "And we made it smart and didn't really think about what would happen in the future."
They have been going after it for a while. CISA, the NSA, and the FBI warned in a joint advisory that Volt Typhoon, a state-sponsored actor from the People's Republic of China, had compromised American organizations in the communications, energy, transportation, and water sectors, and that investigators found the group had held footholds inside some victim environments for at least five years. The advisory's framing was not about theft. The agencies assessed with high confidence that the group was pre-positioning to disrupt operational systems in the event of a conflict with the United States.
What Mainz says he sees on top of that is a change in how the work gets done.
"The bad actors are crowdsourcing how they exploit something," he said. "You can get thousands of people working on it. How would I exploit this thing? Or do I have this problem? What do you think? And so that's pretty scary. And then you talk about AI, which just adds to it, because if you have a bad actor language model, you could theoretically create something that could actually say, well, all this stuff doesn't work, don't start there, here's the things to go try. And it could help you learn how to be an expert hacker fast."
So the offense compounds. Distributed, ideologically sorted, increasingly automated, and pointed at infrastructure that in many cases predates the internet it now sits on.
Against that, Forescout shipped triage.
The company's customers run security operations centers, and Mainz describes those rooms accurately: high burnout, chronic understaffing, people fighting fires in regulated industries where nothing good is ever the reason you got paged. What those customers asked for was not autonomy. It was prioritization. Here are 400 alerts. Tell me which one to open.
"We don't do control right now," Mainz said. "We could, so we don't say, given that, go do this, because we wouldn't want a manufacturing plant shut down because of some of the infrastructure or some of the implementations. I'll let the user shut down the manufacturing plant if they want to. But let them have the final decision on that for control."
It is a commercially inconvenient position at a moment when every security vendor is selling agentic autonomy, and it is worth noticing that Mainz drew the line at exactly the place where his own product could cause the harm it exists to prevent.
Regulators are converging on the same instinct from the other direction. Since 2023, the SEC has required public companies to file an 8-K describing a material cybersecurity incident, generally within four business days of determining materiality, and to disclose annually how their boards oversee cyber risk. Europe's NIS 2 directive goes further in the same direction, requiring company management bodies to approve and oversee cybersecurity risk-management measures and providing that they can be held liable when those measures fail. Mainz reads this as the first real alignment he has seen between the public and private sides of the problem. He attended a NATO summit and kept hearing the same phrase from officials there: practical idealism. Spend the money, but spend it on what actually matters.
He came to the job with an unusual amount of standing to make that call. Mainz spent roughly 18 years in security before Forescout: endpoint at Malwarebytes, where he was COO; mobile at MobileIron, where he was CEO; and a decade at Wind River Systems, the Intel subsidiary he ran as president, building operating systems and middleware for aircraft avionics and industrial robots. That last one is the relevant credential. Functional safety work means writing software where a defect does not leak data; it injures somebody.
He is also, by his own description, the liberal arts major in the room. He holds a BA in communications from San Francisco State and says he suspects he is the only person running a cybersecurity company with that background.
The path to the corner office ran through the owners. Advent International took Forescout private in August 2020 at $29 a share, with Crosspoint Capital Partners partnering on the deal; its managing partner, Greg Clark, took a seat on the Forescout board. Mainz is an operating partner at Crosspoint. He worked alongside the company for about six months, he said, before taking the top job.
When Mainz was named CEO in January 2023, replacing Wael Mohamed, the announcement carried a quote from Clark in his new capacity as chairman of the board. By BankInfoSecurity's count, Mainz was Forescout's fourth chief executive since September 2020, and he arrived in the same month the company confirmed workforce reductions. He has now held the seat longer than his two immediate predecessors did combined.
The company reports it is working, though as a private company it reports without audited public filings. Forescout says fiscal 2025 brought a second consecutive year of top and bottom line growth, 58 deals worth $1 million or more, an increase of 26 percent over the prior year, more than 230 net new customers, gross dollar retention of 91 percent, a third straight year of positive cash flow, and performance above the Rule of 40. At the time of the interview, the company had about 1,100 employees and north of $350 million in revenue.
Ask Mainz how he decides anything, and he gives you one sentence, which he repeats often enough that it functions as doctrine.
"If you sit where money changes hands, you find amazing opportunities."
In practice, that means customer calls, constantly. He had done two the day of the interview. It is also, traced backward, where the decision not to build control came from. Nobody in a plant asked for a machine that could stop the line.
The rest of his operating style is unglamorous and specific. Meetings run 50 minutes rather than 60, leaving 10 minutes to prepare for the next one and no excuse for being late, which he considers disrespectful. The company is hybrid, two to three days in the office where geography allows, with exceptions for sites like India where the commute alone can eat a morning.
On mental health, he is blunter than most CEOs are willing to be, partly because he says he watched it in the data. Forescout's healthcare utilization for mental health engagements ran up 125 percent, by his account, in the period during and after the pandemic. His response was analog. Teach people to have hard conversations face to face, because the anxiety usually turns out to be anticipation rather than the conversation itself. And call people out of nowhere.
"I say, hey, this is a health and welfare check. What's going on?"
He made one of those calls the morning he sat down for the interview. He could tell the person was stressed before he asked.
Every CEO.com Podcast conversation ends with the same question, because the chances one gives are just as important as the chances one takes.
Mainz named Ken Klein, his boss at two companies and the person who hired him at Wind River. Mainz told Klein he wanted to be a CEO someday. Klein did not tell him the communications degree was a problem. He sent him to Columbia for a week-long course in finance for non-financial executives and told him something Mainz still quotes.
"You don't know what's stamped on your own forehead."

Tell<00:00:25.086> us<00:00:25.152> about<00:00:25.351> Four<00:00:25.582> Scout<00:00:25.930> and<00:00:25.996> how<00:00:26.112> you<00:00:26.244> became<00:00:26.525> CEO.
00:00:27.918 --> 00:00:29.813
Um,<00:00:28.111> so<00:00:28.319> a<00:00:28.817> little<00:00:28.978> bit<00:00:29.042> about<00:00:29.299> ForeScout.
00:00:29.941 --> 00:00:43.605
ForeScout's<00:00:30.423> been<00:00:30.519> around<00:00:30.969> for<00:00:31.466> about<00:00:32.494> 23<00:00:33.056> years,<00:00:34.019> um,<00:00:34.581> and<00:00:35.143> really<00:00:35.336> sort<00:00:35.625> of<00:00:35.721> got<00:00:36.203> the<00:00:36.990> growth—<00:00:37.407> or<00:00:37.488> the<00:00:37.568> growth<00:00:37.744> started,<00:00:38.435> um,<00:00:38.852> when,<00:00:39.800> um,<00:00:40.362> it<00:00:40.683> created<00:00:41.100> a<00:00:41.261> category<00:00:42.047> called<00:00:42.545> network<00:00:42.866> access<00:00:43.268> control.
00:00:44.295 --> 00:00:55.774
And<00:00:44.793> that<00:00:44.970> was<00:00:45.130> basically<00:00:46.078> someone<00:00:46.318> tries<00:00:46.511> to<00:00:46.639> connect<00:00:46.896> to<00:00:46.977> a<00:00:47.041> network,<00:00:48.068> um,<00:00:48.711> ForeScout<00:00:49.112> would<00:00:49.273> look,<00:00:49.530> do<00:00:49.594> you<00:00:49.674> have<00:00:49.835> the<00:00:49.931> right<00:00:50.156> credentials,<00:00:50.959> should<00:00:51.199> you<00:00:51.296> be<00:00:51.521> here,<00:00:52.323> and<00:00:52.420> if<00:00:52.950> You<00:00:52.998> shouldn't,<00:00:54.025> maybe<00:00:54.329> you<00:00:54.426> block<00:00:54.811> it<00:00:55.003> and<00:00:55.405> say<00:00:55.549> no.
00:00:56.014 --> 00:01:09.236
Or<00:00:56.351> if<00:00:56.448> it's<00:00:56.592> like<00:00:57.073> case<00:00:57.378> of<00:00:57.539> say,<00:00:57.651> it's<00:00:57.731> like<00:00:57.956> Starbucks<00:00:58.582> and<00:00:58.662> you're<00:00:58.822> in<00:00:59.079> Starbucks,<00:00:59.561> who's<00:00:59.657> a<00:00:59.721> customer<00:00:59.978> of<00:01:00.106> ours,<00:01:00.539> Starbucks<00:01:01.085> in<00:01:01.165> the<00:01:01.470> coffee<00:01:01.727> shop<00:01:02.513> logging<00:01:02.850> in,<00:01:03.010> maybe<00:01:03.235> you<00:01:03.331> put<00:01:03.508> 'em<00:01:03.652> down<00:01:03.893> a<00:01:04.358> network<00:01:04.679> segment<00:01:05.498> that's<00:01:05.802> just<00:01:06.123> for<00:01:06.525> people<00:01:06.845> who<00:01:07.022> are<00:01:07.263> logging<00:01:07.584> at<00:01:07.664> the<00:01:07.808> coffee<00:01:08.049> shop<00:01:08.290> versus<00:01:08.611> the<00:01:08.707> corporate<00:01:09.012> network.
00:01:09.750 --> 00:01:11.723
So<00:01:09.830> that<00:01:09.991> was<00:01:10.135> really<00:01:10.616> what<00:01:10.809> started<00:01:11.210> the<00:01:11.338> company.
00:01:12.317 --> 00:01:28.072
And<00:01:12.462> as<00:01:12.702> we<00:01:13.376> started<00:01:13.745> propelling<00:01:14.467> and<00:01:15.189> growing,<00:01:16.874> I<00:01:17.372> got<00:01:17.516> excited<00:01:17.933> about<00:01:18.655> Forest<00:01:18.928> Scout<00:01:19.217> because<00:01:20.003> of<00:01:20.324> the<00:01:20.902> capabilities<00:01:21.624> to<00:01:21.849> not<00:01:22.089> only<00:01:22.330> look<00:01:22.571> at<00:01:22.892> and<00:01:23.213> protect<00:01:23.694> for<00:01:24.368> traditional<00:01:24.833> devices<00:01:25.314> like<00:01:25.474> a<00:01:25.539> PC<00:01:26.260> or<00:01:26.421> a<00:01:27.078> phone<00:01:27.479> or<00:01:27.543> something<00:01:27.784> like<00:01:27.944> that.
00:01:28.666 --> 00:01:39.764
For<00:01:28.906> unmanageable<00:01:29.420> devices<00:01:29.885> like<00:01:30.510> IoT<00:01:30.879> devices<00:01:31.344> or<00:01:31.488> OT<00:01:31.729> devices,<00:01:32.194> you<00:01:32.274> can<00:01:32.386> think<00:01:32.627> of<00:01:32.755> it<00:01:32.916> as<00:01:33.236> a<00:01:34.119> camera<00:01:35.097> or<00:01:36.043> a<00:01:36.380> TV<00:01:36.685> that's<00:01:37.406> in<00:01:38.224> your<00:01:39.250> conference<00:01:39.651> room.
00:01:40.373 --> 00:01:53.547
Also,<00:01:40.550> the<00:01:40.790> unmanageable<00:01:41.432> devices<00:01:42.618> like<00:01:43.260> OT<00:01:43.901> and<00:01:44.238> IoT<00:01:44.575> devices,<00:01:45.104> you<00:01:45.200> can<00:01:45.425> think<00:01:45.601> of<00:01:46.227> whether<00:01:46.483> it's<00:01:47.927> hospital<00:01:48.328> devices<00:01:48.729> that<00:01:48.873> need<00:01:48.969> to<00:01:49.033> be<00:01:49.130> connected,<00:01:50.156> and<00:01:50.574> it's<00:01:50.815> devices<00:01:51.281> that<00:01:51.538> can't<00:01:52.100> maybe<00:01:52.325> have<00:01:52.422> software<00:01:52.904> to<00:01:53.000> manage<00:01:53.402> them.
00:01:54.173 --> 00:02:02.384
And<00:01:54.286> so<00:01:54.655> we<00:01:54.832> have<00:01:55.009> technology<00:01:55.652> that<00:01:55.941> can<00:01:56.262> use<00:01:56.423> a<00:01:56.439> network<00:01:56.760> approach<00:01:57.162> to<00:01:57.226> help<00:01:58.062> manage<00:01:58.512> and<00:01:58.865> secure<00:01:59.315> those<00:01:59.492> kinds<00:01:59.749> of<00:01:59.813> devices<00:02:00.279> in<00:02:00.922> not<00:02:01.034> only<00:02:01.243> public<00:02:01.581> and<00:02:01.741> private<00:02:02.047> networks.
00:02:02.786 --> 00:02:03.477
That's<00:02:02.946> pretty<00:02:03.171> exciting.
00:02:03.991 --> 00:02:09.020
And<00:02:04.055> how<00:02:04.232> I<00:02:04.312> got<00:02:04.473> the<00:02:04.537> job<00:02:04.859> was<00:02:05.823> I,<00:02:06.224> um,<00:02:06.883> was<00:02:07.108> working<00:02:07.590> at<00:02:08.233> Crosspoint<00:02:08.651> Capital.
00:02:09.068 --> 00:02:20.310

00:02:21.943 --> 00:02:22.573
That's<00:02:22.185> incredible.
00:02:22.654 --> 00:02:26.793
I<00:02:22.735> want<00:02:22.913> to<00:02:22.945> talk<00:02:23.075> to<00:02:23.139> you<00:02:23.220> a<00:02:23.236> little<00:02:23.463> bit<00:02:23.560> about<00:02:23.721> private<00:02:24.109> equity<00:02:24.352> and<00:02:24.449> how<00:02:24.610> that<00:02:24.837> whole<00:02:25.014> world<00:02:25.338> works,<00:02:25.613> which<00:02:25.742> I<00:02:25.823> think<00:02:25.984> is<00:02:26.130> really<00:02:26.308> interesting.
00:02:27.197 --> 00:02:31.806
But<00:02:27.359> what<00:02:27.521> were<00:02:27.585> you<00:02:27.682> doing<00:02:27.909> prior<00:02:28.329> to<00:02:28.410> Force<00:02:28.572> Scout<00:02:28.895> and<00:02:29.041> prior<00:02:29.461> to<00:02:29.688> joining<00:02:30.739> the<00:02:31.159> private<00:02:31.467> equity<00:02:31.661> firm?
00:02:32.356 --> 00:02:38.946
Yeah,<00:02:32.534> so<00:02:32.696> I<00:02:32.777> spent<00:02:33.262> the<00:02:33.664> previous<00:02:35.580> about<00:02:36.305> 18<00:02:36.643> years<00:02:37.432> in<00:02:38.495> security.
00:02:39.477 --> 00:02:42.601
So<00:02:39.783> I<00:02:39.944> worked<00:02:40.250> at<00:02:40.910> Malwarebytes,<00:02:41.538> which<00:02:41.635> was<00:02:41.796> endpoint<00:02:42.118> security.
00:02:42.681 --> 00:02:45.014
I<00:02:42.730> worked<00:02:42.928> at<00:02:43.077> MobileIron,<00:02:43.590> ran<00:02:43.838> MobileIron,<00:02:44.252> CEO<00:02:44.832> there.
00:02:46.188 --> 00:02:47.377
And<00:02:46.285> that's<00:02:46.622> mobile<00:02:46.911> security.
00:02:47.955 --> 00:02:52.677
And<00:02:48.068> then<00:02:48.517> I<00:02:48.678> worked<00:02:48.999> at<00:02:49.176> Wind<00:02:49.417> River<00:02:49.658> Systems<00:02:50.300> for<00:02:50.461> 10<00:02:50.766> years,<00:02:51.424> which<00:02:51.585> is<00:02:51.730> functional<00:02:52.228> security.
00:02:52.725 --> 00:02:56.131
So<00:02:52.950> we<00:02:53.111> would<00:02:53.368> secure<00:02:54.460> IoT<00:02:55.344> or<00:02:55.584> OT<00:02:55.841> devices.
00:02:56.805 --> 00:03:13.879
And<00:02:56.886> so<00:02:57.046> we<00:02:57.126> built<00:02:57.367> an<00:02:57.512> operating<00:02:57.865> system<00:02:58.315> and<00:02:58.395> a<00:02:58.492> bunch<00:02:58.668> of<00:02:58.733> middleware<00:02:59.761> to<00:03:00.403> do<00:03:00.499> functional<00:03:00.821> security<00:03:01.238> for,<00:03:02.170> you<00:03:02.202> know,<00:03:02.427> the<00:03:02.732> avionics<00:03:03.294> of<00:03:03.391> an<00:03:03.471> aircraft<00:03:04.354> or<00:03:04.756> for,<00:03:06.587> you<00:03:06.619> know,<00:03:06.764> industrial<00:03:07.165> robots,<00:03:07.599> like<00:03:08.193> building<00:03:08.530> things<00:03:08.916> where,<00:03:09.574> you<00:03:09.655> know,<00:03:09.815> we<00:03:09.976> would<00:03:10.201> provide<00:03:10.554> a<00:03:10.618> level<00:03:10.779> of<00:03:10.859> security<00:03:11.357> so<00:03:11.582> that,<00:03:11.984> you<00:03:12.064> know,<00:03:12.289> you<00:03:12.449> wouldn't<00:03:12.706> harm<00:03:12.947> man<00:03:13.252> or<00:03:13.349> machine.
00:03:14.168 --> 00:03:14.682
If<00:03:14.296> they<00:03:14.377> were<00:03:14.457> working.
00:03:14.730 --> 00:03:26.855
So<00:03:15.501> really<00:03:15.678> gave<00:03:15.935> me<00:03:16.063> a<00:03:16.159> good<00:03:16.384> understanding<00:03:17.107> of<00:03:17.685> what<00:03:17.862> cybersecurity<00:03:18.729> really<00:03:19.034> was<00:03:19.532> in<00:03:19.757> all<00:03:19.917> the<00:03:20.078> aspects<00:03:21.282> and<00:03:21.539> the<00:03:21.780> just,<00:03:22.326> you<00:03:22.358> know,<00:03:22.648> better,<00:03:23.210> you<00:03:23.242> know,<00:03:23.611> kind<00:03:23.772> of<00:03:24.350> lucky<00:03:24.591> than<00:03:24.832> good<00:03:25.619> as<00:03:26.020> OT<00:03:26.277> and<00:03:26.438> IoT.
00:03:26.903 --> 00:03:31.272
And<00:03:26.984> we<00:03:27.080> can<00:03:27.160> talk<00:03:27.401> more<00:03:27.498> about<00:03:27.883> why,<00:03:28.285> but<00:03:28.429> OT<00:03:28.670> and<00:03:28.750> IoT<00:03:29.104> became<00:03:29.473> more<00:03:29.746> important<00:03:30.372> for<00:03:30.517> cybersecurity.
00:03:31.529 --> 00:03:36.957
My<00:03:31.737> background<00:03:32.283> at<00:03:32.460> Wind<00:03:32.685> River<00:03:32.942> was<00:03:33.022> just<00:03:33.199> a<00:03:33.327> good<00:03:33.488> vision<00:03:33.745> match<00:03:34.050> for<00:03:34.307> where<00:03:34.532> ForeScout<00:03:35.014> was<00:03:35.174> going<00:03:35.527> and<00:03:35.672> then,<00:03:36.314> you<00:03:36.395> know,<00:03:36.620> what<00:03:36.780> I<00:03:36.812> knew.
00:03:37.053 --> 00:03:39.494
So<00:03:37.840> it<00:03:37.904> was<00:03:38.065> really,<00:03:38.643> you<00:03:38.723> know,<00:03:39.125> it<00:03:39.189> was<00:03:39.285> good.
00:03:39.623 --> 00:03:44.071
It<00:03:39.671> was<00:03:39.767> a<00:03:39.783> nice,<00:03:40.233> uh,<00:03:41.116> uh,<00:03:41.454> nice<00:03:41.694> match<00:03:42.000> on<00:03:42.176> both<00:03:42.273> skill<00:03:42.562> sets<00:03:42.899> and,<00:03:43.140> uh,<00:03:43.590> kind<00:03:43.782> of<00:03:43.862> vision.
00:03:45.049 --> 00:03:46.942
Tell<00:03:45.210> us<00:03:45.306> about<00:03:45.852> the<00:03:45.948> threats<00:03:46.333> that<00:03:46.413> are<00:03:46.493> out<00:03:46.654> there<00:03:46.750> now.
00:03:47.327 --> 00:03:50.215
It<00:03:47.392> feels<00:03:47.632> like<00:03:47.937> it's<00:03:48.354> more<00:03:48.900> unsafe<00:03:49.782> than<00:03:50.023> ever.
00:03:50.360 --> 00:03:52.991
Is<00:03:50.504> that<00:03:50.825> accurate<00:03:51.466> or<00:03:51.643> is<00:03:51.803> that<00:03:52.108> not<00:03:52.509> accurate?
00:03:53.087 --> 00:03:55.413
And<00:03:53.728> does<00:03:54.033> AI<00:03:54.450> change<00:03:54.835> any<00:03:55.012> of<00:03:55.092> that?
00:03:55.894 --> 00:03:57.210
Kind<00:03:55.990> of<00:03:56.071> a<00:03:56.119> loaded<00:03:56.440> question,<00:03:56.937> but—.
00:03:57.499 --> 00:03:58.493
Yeah,<00:03:57.723> it's<00:03:57.819> a<00:03:57.884> loaded<00:03:58.140> question.
00:03:59.119 --> 00:04:03.723
So<00:04:00.210> we<00:04:00.370> track,<00:04:01.188> we<00:04:01.333> have<00:04:01.894> a<00:04:01.990> lab<00:04:02.873> called<00:04:03.033> Videri<00:04:03.418> Labs.
00:04:03.835 --> 00:04:07.670
It's<00:04:04.397> in<00:04:04.541> the<00:04:04.573> Netherlands<00:04:05.424> and<00:04:06.081> we<00:04:06.162> track<00:04:07.124> exploits.
00:04:07.990 --> 00:04:09.547
You<00:04:08.023> know,<00:04:08.071> what<00:04:08.167> kind<00:04:08.327> of<00:04:08.391> attacks,<00:04:08.744> to<00:04:08.809> your<00:04:08.905> exact<00:04:09.129> question.
00:04:10.092 --> 00:04:16.618
And<00:04:10.252> we've<00:04:10.477> seen<00:04:10.717> over<00:04:10.830> the<00:04:10.958> last<00:04:11.776> year<00:04:12.898> and<00:04:12.978> a<00:04:13.122> half<00:04:13.764> a<00:04:13.780> huge<00:04:14.245> rise<00:04:15.047> in<00:04:15.768> unmanaged<00:04:16.185> devices.
00:04:16.666 --> 00:04:32.364
So<00:04:16.730> we<00:04:16.810> can<00:04:16.907> talk<00:04:17.163> about<00:04:17.853> whether<00:04:18.029> it's<00:04:18.254> escalators,<00:04:19.248> it<00:04:19.376> could<00:04:19.552> be<00:04:21.236> private<00:04:21.477> communication<00:04:22.118> systems<00:04:22.599> like<00:04:23.224> things<00:04:23.401> that<00:04:23.545> would<00:04:23.641> be<00:04:23.866> on<00:04:24.267> a<00:04:25.405> train,<00:04:26.351> where<00:04:26.512> you<00:04:26.544> have<00:04:26.672> a<00:04:26.752> communication<00:04:27.249> system<00:04:27.634> with<00:04:27.794> that<00:04:28.195> and<00:04:28.291> the<00:04:28.372> tracks<00:04:29.013> and<00:04:30.360> all<00:04:30.472> of<00:04:30.697> the<00:04:31.354> infrastructure<00:04:31.963> for<00:04:32.060> a<00:04:32.140> train.
00:04:33.406 --> 00:04:37.271
Could<00:04:33.583> be,<00:04:33.743> like<00:04:33.968> I<00:04:33.984> mentioned<00:04:34.304> before,<00:04:35.186> robotics,<00:04:35.748> could<00:04:35.908> be<00:04:36.052> automobiles,<00:04:36.629> this<00:04:36.774> kind<00:04:36.950> of<00:04:36.982> stuff.
00:04:37.818 --> 00:04:45.520
And<00:04:37.995> we're<00:04:38.076> seeing<00:04:38.625> a<00:04:38.803> big<00:04:39.368> sort<00:04:39.594> of<00:04:39.852> increase<00:04:40.256> a<00:04:40.337> year<00:04:40.498> and<00:04:40.563> a<00:04:40.579> half<00:04:40.821> ago<00:04:41.047> of<00:04:41.289> those<00:04:42.517> cyberattacks<00:04:43.485> and<00:04:43.647> those<00:04:44.115> actually<00:04:44.696> being<00:04:44.858> successful.
00:04:47.255 --> 00:04:55.102
And<00:04:47.579> we<00:04:47.725> do<00:04:47.838> know,<00:04:48.307> and<00:04:48.938> I<00:04:48.954> don't<00:04:49.278> think<00:04:49.423> this<00:04:49.601> is<00:04:49.763> any<00:04:49.925> new<00:04:50.071> news,<00:04:50.313> that<00:04:50.426> the<00:04:50.556> new<00:04:52.352> sort<00:04:52.740> of<00:04:53.161> battleground<00:04:54.034> is<00:04:54.277> critical<00:04:54.552> infrastructure.
00:04:55.280 --> 00:04:57.532
It's<00:04:55.587> been<00:04:55.749> mentioned<00:04:55.992> by<00:04:56.786> our<00:04:56.948> government.
00:04:57.840 --> 00:05:03.578
And<00:04:58.813> we've<00:04:59.169> spent<00:04:59.542> so<00:04:59.737> much<00:05:00.028> money<00:05:01.585> kind<00:05:01.811> of<00:05:01.925> securing<00:05:02.800> traditional<00:05:03.303> devices.
00:05:04.286 --> 00:05:10.522
That<00:05:04.703> the<00:05:04.943> bad<00:05:05.167> actors<00:05:05.648> are<00:05:05.745> saying,<00:05:06.049> hmm,<00:05:06.690> let's<00:05:06.883> go<00:05:07.091> after<00:05:07.909> maybe<00:05:08.133> some<00:05:08.325> of<00:05:08.374> this<00:05:08.534> stuff<00:05:08.790> that's<00:05:08.951> been<00:05:09.047> sitting<00:05:09.415> out<00:05:09.576> there<00:05:09.736> for<00:05:09.912> 20<00:05:10.217> years.
00:05:11.179 --> 00:05:16.084
And<00:05:11.499> we<00:05:11.612> made<00:05:11.836> it<00:05:11.932> smart<00:05:12.477> and<00:05:12.638> didn't<00:05:12.958> really<00:05:13.359> kind<00:05:13.583> of<00:05:13.824> think<00:05:14.016> about<00:05:14.866> what<00:05:15.026> would<00:05:15.186> happen<00:05:15.523> in<00:05:15.587> the<00:05:15.667> future.
00:05:16.709 --> 00:05:26.151
And<00:05:16.950> there's<00:05:17.190> also<00:05:17.447> this<00:05:17.607> interesting<00:05:18.008> thing<00:05:18.328> that<00:05:18.553> has<00:05:18.713> happened<00:05:19.611> is<00:05:19.771> people<00:05:20.076> are—<00:05:20.316> the<00:05:20.412> bad<00:05:20.637> actors<00:05:20.909> are<00:05:21.037> crowdsourcing<00:05:23.362> how<00:05:23.618> they<00:05:24.901> exploit<00:05:25.718> something.
00:05:27.289 --> 00:05:34.727
And<00:05:27.530> so,<00:05:27.690> for<00:05:27.770> example,<00:05:28.972> the<00:05:30.014> recent<00:05:31.457> hacks,<00:05:31.778> you<00:05:31.874> see<00:05:32.194> the<00:05:32.932> Salt<00:05:33.236> Typhoon<00:05:33.877> and<00:05:34.038> Vault<00:05:34.278> Typhoon.
00:05:34.775 --> 00:05:35.529
They've<00:05:34.903> been<00:05:35.016> in<00:05:35.080> the<00:05:35.160> news.
00:05:36.988 --> 00:05:50.232
Were<00:05:37.789> not<00:05:38.030> only<00:05:38.270> were<00:05:38.367> they,<00:05:38.992> you<00:05:39.040> know,<00:05:39.248> sort<00:05:39.473> of<00:05:40.211> based<00:05:40.595> from<00:05:41.397> one<00:05:41.557> of<00:05:41.718> our,<00:05:43.321> from<00:05:43.482> China,<00:05:44.620> but<00:05:45.887> the<00:05:46.384> data<00:05:46.608> shows<00:05:46.929> that<00:05:47.041> they<00:05:47.170> were<00:05:47.330> also<00:05:47.987> crowdsourced,<00:05:48.693> meaning<00:05:48.933> like,<00:05:49.126> hey,<00:05:49.350> how<00:05:49.671> would<00:05:49.976> they?
00:05:50.697 --> 00:05:56.341
And<00:05:50.793> could<00:05:50.938> you<00:05:51.018> get<00:05:51.114> a<00:05:51.194> bunch<00:05:51.419> of<00:05:51.499> people<00:05:51.836> using<00:05:52.236> open<00:05:52.493> source<00:05:53.198> kind<00:05:53.423> of<00:05:53.583> thought<00:05:54.321> to<00:05:54.946> hack<00:05:55.604> these<00:05:55.844> kinds<00:05:56.085> of<00:05:56.165> things?
00:05:56.630 --> 00:05:57.175
It's<00:05:56.742> scary.
00:05:57.528 --> 00:06:00.606
And<00:05:57.608> so<00:05:57.656> you<00:05:57.704> can<00:05:57.832> get<00:05:58.009> thousands<00:05:58.426> of<00:05:58.490> people<00:05:58.811> working<00:05:59.035> on<00:05:59.195> how<00:05:59.292> would<00:05:59.388> I<00:05:59.452> exploit<00:06:00.077> this<00:06:00.478> thing?
00:06:01.120 --> 00:06:01.601
Or<00:06:01.200> how<00:06:01.440> would<00:06:01.520> I?
00:06:02.017 --> 00:06:02.771
I've<00:06:02.098> got<00:06:02.274> this<00:06:02.418> problem.
00:06:02.883 --> 00:06:03.701
What<00:06:02.980> do<00:06:03.140> you<00:06:03.300> think?
00:06:04.255 --> 00:06:05.966
And<00:06:04.502> so<00:06:05.176> that's<00:06:05.357> pretty<00:06:05.571> scary.
00:06:06.015 --> 00:06:19.992
And<00:06:06.097> then<00:06:06.229> you<00:06:06.328> talk<00:06:06.574> about<00:06:06.887> AI,<00:06:08.895> that<00:06:09.056> just<00:06:09.442> adds<00:06:09.699> to<00:06:09.860> it<00:06:10.182> because<00:06:10.503> that's<00:06:10.809> like<00:06:11.002> if<00:06:11.131> you<00:06:11.211> have<00:06:11.308> a<00:06:11.388> language<00:06:11.806> model,<00:06:13.141> kind<00:06:13.302> of<00:06:13.399> a<00:06:13.479> bad<00:06:13.704> actor<00:06:13.962> language<00:06:14.348> model<00:06:14.670> you<00:06:14.766> could<00:06:15.313> theoretically<00:06:15.892> create<00:06:17.163> that<00:06:17.485> could<00:06:17.646> actually<00:06:18.529> say,<00:06:18.771> well,<00:06:19.012> all<00:06:19.092> this<00:06:19.188> stuff<00:06:19.446> doesn't<00:06:19.751> work.
00:06:20.072 --> 00:06:20.667
Don't<00:06:20.233> start<00:06:20.554> there.
00:06:21.503 --> 00:06:22.579
Here's<00:06:21.679> the<00:06:21.824> things<00:06:22.081> to<00:06:22.226> go<00:06:22.386> try.
00:06:23.110 --> 00:06:27.282
And<00:06:23.592> it<00:06:23.929> could<00:06:24.251> help<00:06:24.652> you<00:06:24.958> learn<00:06:25.215> how<00:06:25.376> to<00:06:25.536> be<00:06:26.243> an<00:06:26.340> expert<00:06:26.710> hacker<00:06:27.070> fast.
00:06:27.331 --> 00:06:27.970
And<00:06:27.397> that's<00:06:27.560> scary.
00:06:28.542 --> 00:06:30.179
And<00:06:28.640> so<00:06:28.788> that's<00:06:29.033> kind<00:06:29.262> of<00:06:29.344> what<00:06:29.442> we're<00:06:29.540> dealing<00:06:29.835> with<00:06:29.999> today.
00:06:30.852 --> 00:06:37.098
And<00:06:30.948> again,<00:06:31.574> go<00:06:31.799> after<00:06:32.056> the<00:06:32.136> critical<00:06:32.457> infrastructure,<00:06:33.886> it<00:06:33.983> makes<00:06:34.304> it<00:06:35.412> even<00:06:35.588> more<00:06:35.765> scary,<00:06:36.070> more<00:06:36.311> vulnerable,<00:06:36.712> to<00:06:36.793> be<00:06:36.873> fair.
00:06:37.981 --> 00:06:47.631
Can<00:06:38.093> you<00:06:38.222> give<00:06:38.334> us<00:06:38.479> a<00:06:38.543> sense<00:06:38.816> of<00:06:38.944> the<00:06:39.024> scale<00:06:39.988> of<00:06:40.100> the<00:06:40.245> threat<00:06:40.630> and<00:06:40.726> just<00:06:40.887> how<00:06:42.075> many<00:06:42.396> billions<00:06:42.830> of<00:06:42.910> dollars<00:06:43.601> are<00:06:43.841> lost<00:06:44.243> to<00:06:44.355> this<00:06:44.580> type<00:06:44.805> of<00:06:44.837> stuff<00:06:45.287> and<00:06:45.881> spent<00:06:46.250> on<00:06:46.346> this<00:06:46.507> type<00:06:46.748> of<00:06:46.812> stuff<00:06:47.149> every<00:06:47.454> year?
00:06:48.418 --> 00:06:56.060
Yeah,<00:06:48.755> so<00:06:49.782> I<00:06:49.814> mean,<00:06:49.943> I<00:06:50.039> think<00:06:50.585> if<00:06:50.682> you<00:06:50.906> kind<00:06:51.805> of<00:06:52.046> rewind<00:06:52.367> the<00:06:52.512> video<00:06:52.929> back<00:06:53.251> a<00:06:53.315> few<00:06:53.636> years,<00:06:54.198> you<00:06:54.230> know,<00:06:54.375> it<00:06:54.519> was<00:06:54.760> really<00:06:55.001> around<00:06:55.402> the<00:06:55.482> ransomware.
00:06:56.350 --> 00:07:05.089
Hey,<00:06:56.542> I'm<00:06:56.654> gonna<00:06:56.863> go<00:06:57.264> and<00:06:57.312> I'm<00:06:57.424> gonna,<00:06:58.610> you<00:06:58.643> know,<00:06:59.813> breach<00:07:00.054> your<00:07:00.150> network,<00:07:00.711> put<00:07:00.871> something<00:07:01.256> in<00:07:01.337> there<00:07:01.417> and<00:07:01.513> say,<00:07:01.673> hey,<00:07:01.818> if<00:07:01.914> you<00:07:01.994> want<00:07:02.170> me<00:07:02.315> to<00:07:02.940> unlock<00:07:03.341> all<00:07:03.421> your<00:07:03.581> files,<00:07:04.383> you<00:07:04.463> gotta<00:07:04.592> go<00:07:04.720> give<00:07:04.800> me<00:07:04.896> money.
00:07:06.067 --> 00:07:08.264
And<00:07:06.885> we<00:07:07.029> see<00:07:07.270> that<00:07:07.606> transitioning.
00:07:08.328 --> 00:07:26.578
Whilst<00:07:08.649> we<00:07:08.729> still<00:07:08.985> see<00:07:09.226> that<00:07:09.531> there,<00:07:10.316> we're<00:07:10.397> starting<00:07:10.813> to<00:07:10.894> see<00:07:11.294> things<00:07:11.615> like<00:07:11.920> a<00:07:12.016> Vault<00:07:12.257> Typhoon<00:07:12.722> or<00:07:12.818> Salt<00:07:13.058> Typhoon<00:07:13.604> where<00:07:13.780> they're<00:07:14.405> hacking<00:07:14.822> into<00:07:15.127> critical<00:07:15.400> infrastructure<00:07:16.025> like<00:07:16.265> our<00:07:16.827> phone<00:07:17.147> network<00:07:17.564> and<00:07:17.645> our<00:07:17.709> mobile<00:07:18.029> phone<00:07:18.222> network,<00:07:19.136> placing<00:07:20.194> software<00:07:21.541> that<00:07:21.782> goes<00:07:22.183> in<00:07:22.423> and<00:07:22.519> allows<00:07:23.530> whoever<00:07:24.027> it<00:07:24.107> is<00:07:24.925> to<00:07:24.973> have<00:07:25.230> access<00:07:25.792> to<00:07:25.952> information.
00:07:27.252 --> 00:07:28.391
And<00:07:27.348> it's<00:07:27.653> transitioned.
00:07:28.439 --> 00:07:57.097
Yes,<00:07:28.696> while<00:07:28.856> we<00:07:28.936> still<00:07:29.241> have<00:07:29.562> our<00:07:30.444> ransomware,<00:07:31.648> we're<00:07:32.065> starting<00:07:33.525> to<00:07:33.733> see<00:07:33.830> from,<00:07:34.792> call<00:07:35.097> it,<00:07:36.236> a<00:07:36.316> certain<00:07:36.637> set<00:07:37.038> of<00:07:37.424> countries<00:07:38.547> and<00:07:39.686> coming<00:07:39.991> into<00:07:40.151> the<00:07:40.311> US,<00:07:40.729> whether<00:07:40.985> it's<00:07:41.194> hacktivism,<00:07:42.413> maybe<00:07:42.798> like<00:07:43.600> we've<00:07:44.114> seen<00:07:44.419> some<00:07:44.659> of<00:07:44.691> this<00:07:44.820> stuff,<00:07:44.964> which<00:07:45.141> is<00:07:45.221> different<00:07:45.686> where<00:07:47.130> when<00:07:47.611> October<00:07:47.932> 7th<00:07:48.349> happened,<00:07:49.376> in<00:07:49.569> Israel,<00:07:50.580> the,<00:07:50.821> the<00:07:50.853> situation<00:07:51.479> there<00:07:52.025> with<00:07:52.121> Palestine,<00:07:53.309> and<00:07:53.646> then<00:07:54.529> the<00:07:54.609> reaction<00:07:55.411> that<00:07:55.636> happened<00:07:56.519> after<00:07:56.776> that.
00:07:57.739 --> 00:08:13.613
Many<00:07:58.060> of<00:07:58.220> the<00:07:58.381> folks<00:07:58.702> that<00:07:58.927> were<00:07:59.007> not<00:07:59.248> on<00:07:59.344> the<00:07:59.440> side<00:08:00.130> of<00:08:00.788> the<00:08:01.495> Israelis<00:08:02.699> would<00:08:02.875> go<00:08:03.052> and<00:08:03.180> say,<00:08:03.341> well,<00:08:03.437> maybe<00:08:03.758> what<00:08:03.902> we'll<00:08:04.063> do<00:08:04.239> is<00:08:04.400> we<00:08:04.544> will<00:08:04.705> attack<00:08:05.186> some<00:08:05.443> of<00:08:05.540> the<00:08:05.684> technology<00:08:06.968> that<00:08:07.514> Israel<00:08:08.316> has<00:08:08.477> developed<00:08:09.215> and<00:08:09.360> supplied<00:08:09.954> around<00:08:10.242> the<00:08:10.403> world<00:08:11.205> as<00:08:11.366> a<00:08:11.446> way<00:08:11.767> to<00:08:11.864> say<00:08:12.104> that's<00:08:12.409> more<00:08:12.586> by<00:08:12.811> hacktivism.
00:08:14.175 --> 00:08:15.668
And<00:08:14.416> we're<00:08:14.528> seeing<00:08:14.897> these<00:08:15.074> bad<00:08:15.298> actors.
00:08:15.716 --> 00:08:17.369
They're<00:08:15.860> not<00:08:16.117> just<00:08:16.502> in<00:08:16.663> one<00:08:16.904> country.
00:08:17.642 --> 00:08:22.185
There<00:08:17.722> are<00:08:17.867> many<00:08:18.123> countries<00:08:18.926> with<00:08:19.071> the<00:08:19.151> same<00:08:20.130> ideology<00:08:21.254> trying<00:08:21.575> to<00:08:21.719> do<00:08:21.816> something.
00:08:22.635 --> 00:08:29.008
So,<00:08:23.245> um,<00:08:23.726> it<00:08:23.790> almost<00:08:24.047> mirrors<00:08:24.288> a<00:08:24.368> little<00:08:24.529> bit<00:08:24.641> about<00:08:25.027> some<00:08:25.123> of<00:08:25.187> the<00:08:25.267> politics<00:08:25.829> in<00:08:25.909> some<00:08:26.070> sense<00:08:26.327> about<00:08:26.552> this<00:08:26.616> stuff,<00:08:27.274> but<00:08:27.419> they're<00:08:27.515> going<00:08:27.756> after<00:08:28.061> critical<00:08:28.398> infrastructure.
00:08:29.666 --> 00:08:40.406
Um,<00:08:30.308> and<00:08:30.966> I,<00:08:31.368> I<00:08:31.448> can't—<00:08:31.705> I'm<00:08:31.849> not<00:08:31.994> at<00:08:32.074> liberty<00:08:32.411> to<00:08:32.475> give<00:08:32.636> some<00:08:32.764> of<00:08:32.813> the<00:08:32.877> examples,<00:08:33.374> but<00:08:33.679> you<00:08:33.936> can,<00:08:34.338> you<00:08:34.498> can<00:08:34.980> see<00:08:35.237> some<00:08:35.477> of<00:08:35.542> the<00:08:35.686> things<00:08:35.927> that<00:08:36.023> we've<00:08:36.168> had<00:08:36.425> with<00:08:36.970> whether<00:08:37.083> it's<00:08:37.227> been<00:08:37.388> drawbridges<00:08:37.950> or<00:08:38.046> some<00:08:38.271> of<00:08:38.335> the<00:08:38.431> critical<00:08:39.073> power<00:08:39.314> infrastructure,<00:08:39.892> that<00:08:40.037> kind<00:08:40.165> of<00:08:40.342> thing.
00:08:41.160 --> 00:08:44.178
Well,<00:08:41.401> and<00:08:41.481> the<00:08:41.578> bad<00:08:41.803> actors<00:08:42.429> are<00:08:42.509> not<00:08:42.830> just<00:08:43.071> kind<00:08:43.231> of<00:08:43.408> rogue<00:08:43.729> actors.
00:08:45.254 --> 00:08:46.410
They're<00:08:45.415> also<00:08:45.656> states,<00:08:46.137> right?
00:08:46.603 --> 00:08:47.229
They're<00:08:46.699> governments.
00:08:47.422 --> 00:08:48.305
That's<00:08:47.663> exactly<00:08:48.064> right.
00:08:48.449 --> 00:08:48.803
Yeah.
00:08:48.867 --> 00:08:49.718
That's<00:08:49.043> exactly<00:08:49.509> right.
00:08:50.296 --> 00:08:53.427
And<00:08:50.376> there's,<00:08:50.697> you<00:08:50.874> know,<00:08:51.179> 5<00:08:51.452> of<00:08:51.580> them<00:08:51.821> that<00:08:52.142> tend<00:08:52.319> to<00:08:52.399> be<00:08:52.560> showing<00:08:52.897> up<00:08:53.041> all<00:08:53.122> the<00:08:53.266> time.
00:08:53.828 --> 00:08:53.924
Yeah.
00:08:55.353 --> 00:09:02.964
As<00:08:55.434> you<00:08:55.594> think<00:08:55.787> of<00:08:55.851> it,<00:08:55.996> I<00:08:56.076> wanna<00:08:56.253> go<00:08:56.638> double-click<00:08:57.055> on<00:08:57.200> AI<00:08:57.537> because<00:08:57.858> I<00:08:57.938> think<00:08:58.099> it's<00:08:58.260> really<00:08:58.500> interesting,<00:08:59.223> obviously<00:08:59.608> how<00:08:59.689> it's<00:08:59.865> changing<00:09:00.251> everything,<00:09:00.572> but<00:09:00.668> in<00:09:00.748> particular<00:09:01.310> your<00:09:01.551> industry,<00:09:02.033> how<00:09:02.113> are<00:09:02.258> you<00:09:02.434> thinking<00:09:02.755> about<00:09:02.932> it?
00:09:03.060 --> 00:09:07.412
How<00:09:03.157> are<00:09:03.317> you<00:09:03.622> using<00:09:04.104> it<00:09:05.067> and<00:09:05.549> how<00:09:05.710> are<00:09:05.870> you<00:09:05.967> preparing<00:09:06.673> for<00:09:06.785> this<00:09:07.074> wave?
00:09:08.118 --> 00:09:11.442
Yeah,<00:09:08.295> so<00:09:09.081> on<00:09:09.258> the,<00:09:09.643> you<00:09:09.676> know,<00:09:09.820> now<00:09:09.916> we<00:09:10.045> move<00:09:10.205> into<00:09:10.366> a<00:09:10.446> positive<00:09:10.960> note<00:09:11.265> here.
00:09:11.522 --> 00:09:23.782
Don't<00:09:11.650> wanna<00:09:11.907> bum<00:09:12.132> everybody<00:09:12.533> out<00:09:12.710> from<00:09:12.855> that<00:09:13.015> with<00:09:13.095> the<00:09:13.192> conversation<00:09:13.818> here,<00:09:13.995> but<00:09:15.183> one<00:09:15.343> of<00:09:15.440> the<00:09:15.488> things<00:09:15.664> that's<00:09:15.970> that<00:09:16.162> we're<00:09:16.627> announcing<00:09:17.525> here,<00:09:17.846> which<00:09:18.023> I'm<00:09:18.344> super<00:09:18.713> excited<00:09:19.114> about,<00:09:19.771> which<00:09:20.012> is<00:09:20.108> to<00:09:20.397> leverage<00:09:20.718> AI<00:09:21.375> for<00:09:22.001> the<00:09:22.242> analysts<00:09:22.643> that<00:09:22.739> are<00:09:22.883> using<00:09:23.204> our<00:09:23.316> software.
00:09:24.744 --> 00:09:40.785
And<00:09:24.969> one<00:09:25.129> of<00:09:25.161> the<00:09:25.209> things<00:09:25.466> that<00:09:25.947> people<00:09:26.172> always<00:09:26.348> complain<00:09:26.733> about<00:09:26.974> is<00:09:28.032> if<00:09:28.177> you<00:09:29.059> look<00:09:29.171> at<00:09:29.236> the<00:09:29.396> industry<00:09:30.583> and<00:09:31.401> for<00:09:31.626> our<00:09:31.786> customers,<00:09:33.101> the<00:09:33.310> people<00:09:33.551> that<00:09:33.711> are<00:09:33.791> working<00:09:34.433> either<00:09:34.674> in<00:09:34.850> the<00:09:35.026> SOC<00:09:35.893> or<00:09:36.278> security<00:09:36.614> operations<00:09:37.048> center,<00:09:38.459> it's<00:09:38.620> tough<00:09:38.860> to<00:09:38.940> get<00:09:39.165> people,<00:09:39.566> high<00:09:39.823> burnout<00:09:40.288> job.
00:09:41.170 --> 00:09:42.630
It's<00:09:41.571> go,<00:09:41.812> go,<00:09:41.988> go,<00:09:42.149> go,<00:09:42.373> go.
00:09:43.240 --> 00:09:47.347
You<00:09:43.288> know,<00:09:43.432> we<00:09:43.528> sell<00:09:43.913> to,<00:09:44.780> you<00:09:44.812> know,<00:09:45.502> mostly<00:09:45.903> regulated<00:09:46.401> industries<00:09:46.882> and<00:09:46.946> the<00:09:47.026> government.
00:09:47.524 --> 00:09:50.813
So<00:09:47.684> banking,<00:09:48.005> brokerage,<00:09:48.326> insurance,<00:09:48.727> manufacturing,<00:09:49.754> energy,<00:09:50.171> these<00:09:50.396> kinds<00:09:50.588> of<00:09:50.717> things.
00:09:51.375 --> 00:09:54.696
And<00:09:51.455> so<00:09:52.000> typically<00:09:52.578> if<00:09:52.658> something<00:09:53.043> happens,<00:09:53.477> it's<00:09:53.637> not<00:09:54.247> great,<00:09:54.504> right?
00:09:54.825 --> 00:09:56.445
And<00:09:54.905> so<00:09:55.771> they're<00:09:55.867> stressed.
00:09:56.910 --> 00:10:05.078
And<00:09:56.975> one<00:09:57.135> of<00:09:57.167> the<00:09:57.231> things<00:09:57.392> we<00:09:57.536> thought<00:09:57.777> about<00:09:58.098> is,<00:09:58.258> and<00:09:58.740> you<00:09:58.804> know,<00:09:58.868> my<00:09:59.141> philosophy<00:09:59.574> is<00:09:59.718> I<00:09:59.799> think<00:10:00.023> if<00:10:00.120> you<00:10:00.585> sit<00:10:00.986> where<00:10:01.163> the<00:10:01.243> money<00:10:01.548> changes<00:10:01.869> hands,<00:10:02.591> you<00:10:02.671> find<00:10:02.863> amazing,<00:10:03.425> amazing<00:10:03.955> opportunities,<00:10:04.853> you<00:10:04.917> know?
00:10:05.238 --> 00:10:23.294
And<00:10:05.816> we<00:10:05.880> found<00:10:06.057> from<00:10:06.201> our<00:10:06.361> customers,<00:10:06.763> they<00:10:06.795> said,<00:10:07.003> hey,<00:10:07.083> if<00:10:07.164> you<00:10:07.260> could<00:10:07.340> provide<00:10:07.741> something,<00:10:08.768> think<00:10:08.865> of<00:10:08.929> a<00:10:09.009> language<00:10:09.426> model<00:10:09.667> and<00:10:09.811> some<00:10:09.972> smarts<00:10:10.774> that<00:10:10.870> could<00:10:11.432> come<00:10:11.592> back<00:10:11.832> and<00:10:11.913> say,<00:10:12.538> here's<00:10:13.099> all<00:10:13.275> the<00:10:13.419> alerts<00:10:13.836> for,<00:10:14.622> you<00:10:14.702> know,<00:10:15.343> you're<00:10:15.439> looking<00:10:15.760> at<00:10:16.882> based<00:10:17.347> on<00:10:17.684> what<00:10:17.988> you've<00:10:18.164> done<00:10:18.389> in<00:10:18.469> the<00:10:18.565> past<00:10:19.046> or<00:10:19.206> based<00:10:19.607> on<00:10:19.768> what<00:10:19.912> we<00:10:20.008> think<00:10:20.553> here,<00:10:20.970> or<00:10:21.050> based<00:10:21.371> on<00:10:21.515> what<00:10:21.996> other<00:10:22.172> people<00:10:22.637> have<00:10:22.813> leveraged.
00:10:23.615 --> 00:10:26.420
Here's<00:10:24.000> where<00:10:24.080> you<00:10:24.176> should<00:10:24.400> start,<00:10:25.603> give<00:10:25.699> you<00:10:25.779> prioritization.
00:10:27.142 --> 00:10:29.129
And<00:10:27.206> that's<00:10:27.446> really<00:10:27.687> helped<00:10:27.927> our<00:10:28.023> customers<00:10:28.504> in<00:10:28.568> our<00:10:28.664> beta.
00:10:29.787 --> 00:10:30.764
They're<00:10:30.011> jazzed<00:10:30.364> about<00:10:30.652> it.
00:10:31.149 --> 00:10:39.823
And<00:10:31.229> that's<00:10:31.406> a<00:10:31.534> great<00:10:32.015> way<00:10:32.191> where<00:10:32.351> a<00:10:32.416> language<00:10:32.832> model<00:10:33.153> can<00:10:33.313> help<00:10:33.538> you<00:10:33.634> be<00:10:33.778> more<00:10:33.938> efficient<00:10:34.836> and<00:10:34.900> help<00:10:35.061> you<00:10:35.157> look<00:10:35.397> versus,<00:10:35.942> you<00:10:35.974> know,<00:10:36.054> spending<00:10:36.423> half<00:10:36.664> hour,<00:10:36.776> 40<00:10:37.064> minutes<00:10:37.786> trying<00:10:37.978> to,<00:10:38.187> because<00:10:38.363> you're<00:10:38.443> firefighting<00:10:39.326> in<00:10:39.422> these<00:10:39.630> folks.
00:10:39.871 --> 00:10:40.785
But<00:10:39.967> now<00:10:40.031> I<00:10:40.128> gotta<00:10:40.208> look<00:10:40.304> at<00:10:40.368> the<00:10:40.448> console.
00:10:40.833 --> 00:10:41.379
What<00:10:40.930> should<00:10:41.106> I<00:10:41.234> do?
00:10:41.876 --> 00:10:42.886
It's<00:10:42.036> coming<00:10:42.277> back<00:10:42.453> constantly.
00:10:42.935 --> 00:10:43.592
Here<00:10:43.015> are<00:10:43.095> the<00:10:43.239> priorities.
00:10:43.640 --> 00:10:44.266
Here<00:10:43.721> are<00:10:43.753> the<00:10:43.881> priorities.
00:10:44.619 --> 00:10:47.346
I've<00:10:44.843> used<00:10:45.180> this,<00:10:45.485> I've<00:10:45.581> that,<00:10:45.966> and<00:10:46.624> that's<00:10:46.864> been<00:10:47.025> great.
00:10:47.410 --> 00:10:48.821
We<00:10:47.506> don't<00:10:47.763> do<00:10:47.907> control<00:10:48.388> right<00:10:48.629> now.
00:10:49.431 --> 00:10:49.848
We<00:10:49.511> could.
00:10:50.153 --> 00:10:58.622
So<00:10:50.249> we<00:10:50.329> don't<00:10:50.490> say,<00:10:50.858> given<00:10:51.099> that,<00:10:51.676> go<00:10:51.853> do<00:10:52.013> this,<00:10:52.719> because<00:10:52.912> some<00:10:53.120> of<00:10:53.184> the<00:10:53.280> infrastructures<00:10:53.922> that<00:10:54.082> we,<00:10:54.243> or<00:10:54.323> some<00:10:54.500> of<00:10:54.564> the<00:10:54.644> implementations,<00:10:56.248> you<00:10:56.328> know,<00:10:56.633> we<00:10:56.729> wouldn't<00:10:57.050> want<00:10:57.274> a<00:10:57.307> manufacturing<00:10:57.932> plant<00:10:58.173> shut<00:10:58.477> down.
00:10:59.600 --> 00:11:08.566
I'll<00:10:59.761> let<00:10:59.921> the<00:11:00.017> user<00:11:00.338> shut<00:11:00.643> the<00:11:00.739> manufacturing<00:11:01.365> plant<00:11:01.557> if<00:11:01.702> they<00:11:01.862> want<00:11:02.119> to,<00:11:02.824> but,<00:11:03.145> you<00:11:03.225> know,<00:11:03.466> let<00:11:03.691> them<00:11:03.867> have<00:11:04.092> the,<00:11:04.653> you<00:11:04.685> know,<00:11:04.829> the,<00:11:05.214> the,<00:11:06.513> kind<00:11:06.658> of,<00:11:07.059> and<00:11:07.235> decision<00:11:07.716> on<00:11:07.877> that<00:11:08.053> for<00:11:08.197> control.
00:11:08.919 --> 00:11:12.511
So<00:11:09.705> that's<00:11:09.961> been<00:11:10.058> a<00:11:10.346> really,<00:11:10.828> really<00:11:11.084> good<00:11:11.309> way<00:11:11.806> of<00:11:11.950> leveraging<00:11:12.367> it.
00:11:13.249 --> 00:11:31.291
We're<00:11:13.393> also<00:11:13.634> spending<00:11:13.907> some<00:11:14.115> time<00:11:14.516> with<00:11:15.959> a<00:11:15.976> lot<00:11:16.120> of<00:11:16.152> the<00:11:16.280> critical,<00:11:17.724> you<00:11:17.756> know,<00:11:17.852> CVEs<00:11:18.317> that<00:11:18.525> we<00:11:18.622> find<00:11:19.568> and<00:11:20.883> saying,<00:11:21.268> hey,<00:11:21.573> can<00:11:21.893> we<00:11:22.775> apply<00:11:23.433> some<00:11:23.593> smarts<00:11:24.139> in<00:11:24.219> an<00:11:24.379> application<00:11:25.037> that<00:11:25.598> will<00:11:25.694> tell<00:11:25.919> customers<00:11:26.544> which<00:11:26.721> ones<00:11:26.961> to<00:11:27.041> focus<00:11:27.442> on<00:11:27.603> based<00:11:27.907> on<00:11:28.068> their<00:11:28.308> infrastructure<00:11:29.126> and<00:11:29.367> maybe<00:11:29.768> potentially<00:11:30.553> their<00:11:30.874> risks?
00:11:31.678 --> 00:11:35.744
Based<00:11:32.000> on<00:11:32.081> what<00:11:32.259> we<00:11:32.404> see<00:11:32.662> in<00:11:32.969> other<00:11:33.775> like<00:11:34.034> infrastructures<00:11:34.663> or<00:11:34.824> other<00:11:35.002> like<00:11:35.244> hardware.
00:11:36.212 --> 00:11:39.536
And<00:11:36.293> that's<00:11:36.454> been<00:11:36.616> really<00:11:36.841> useful<00:11:37.180> because<00:11:37.487> that's<00:11:37.664> just<00:11:37.890> more<00:11:38.052> of<00:11:38.213> a,<00:11:38.633> hey,<00:11:38.729> go<00:11:38.875> take<00:11:39.052> a<00:11:39.101> look<00:11:39.278> at<00:11:39.359> this.
00:11:39.601 --> 00:11:40.456
Do<00:11:39.665> you<00:11:39.762> know<00:11:40.020> about<00:11:40.311> this?
00:11:40.553 --> 00:11:41.329
Or<00:11:40.634> have<00:11:40.795> you<00:11:40.860> checked<00:11:41.135> this?
00:11:42.008 --> 00:11:43.610
And<00:11:42.332> again,<00:11:42.834> we<00:11:42.979> don't<00:11:43.141> do<00:11:43.238> control.
00:11:44.371 --> 00:11:47.138
Maybe<00:11:44.630> that's<00:11:44.856> at<00:11:44.954> some<00:11:45.180> point<00:11:45.423> we<00:11:45.568> could,<00:11:45.746> but<00:11:45.908> that's<00:11:46.782> been<00:11:46.879> great.
00:11:47.203 --> 00:11:59.710
And<00:11:47.284> so<00:11:47.996> we<00:11:48.400> were<00:11:48.481> in<00:11:48.578> beta<00:11:48.805> about<00:11:49.064> to<00:11:49.128> announce<00:11:49.549> that<00:11:49.792> coming<00:11:50.098> up<00:11:50.822> and<00:11:51.096> super<00:11:51.563> excited<00:11:51.982> about<00:11:52.287> that<00:11:52.529> because<00:11:54.767> when<00:11:54.848> you<00:11:54.944> look<00:11:55.121> in<00:11:55.186> the<00:11:55.331> eyes<00:11:55.524> of<00:11:55.653> your<00:11:55.910> customers<00:11:56.458> or<00:11:56.554> users<00:11:57.021> and<00:11:57.102> they're<00:11:57.182> really<00:11:57.585> excited,<00:11:58.326> this<00:11:58.487> is<00:11:58.632> one<00:11:58.809> thing<00:11:58.970> that's<00:11:59.131> been<00:11:59.260> really<00:11:59.458> helpful.
00:12:00.422 --> 00:12:04.003
I<00:12:00.502> think<00:12:00.663> this<00:12:00.759> is<00:12:00.888> gonna<00:12:00.984> be<00:12:01.128> a<00:12:01.144> big<00:12:01.321> thing<00:12:01.546> for<00:12:02.012> our<00:12:02.108> customers<00:12:02.654> and<00:12:02.975> our<00:12:03.714> partners.
00:12:05.159 --> 00:12:07.936
What<00:12:05.271> does<00:12:05.464> a<00:12:05.544> typical<00:12:05.961> day<00:12:06.186> look<00:12:06.363> like<00:12:06.539> for<00:12:06.668> you<00:12:06.925> as<00:12:07.005> CEO<00:12:07.374> of<00:12:07.423> this<00:12:07.567> company?
00:12:08.595 --> 00:12:10.024
Oh<00:12:08.836> God,<00:12:09.317> that's<00:12:09.510> a<00:12:09.574> good<00:12:09.735> question.
00:12:11.405 --> 00:12:24.587
You<00:12:11.437> know,<00:12:12.609> I<00:12:12.625> think<00:12:12.785> one<00:12:12.946> of<00:12:12.978> the<00:12:13.123> things<00:12:13.347> that<00:12:13.572> I<00:12:14.070> think<00:12:14.215> for<00:12:14.375> challenge<00:12:14.857> for<00:12:15.917> anyone,<00:12:16.238> we're,<00:12:17.040> you<00:12:17.121> know,<00:12:17.281> 1,100<00:12:18.951> employees<00:12:19.754> and,<00:12:20.236> you<00:12:20.316> know,<00:12:21.697> north<00:12:22.082> of,<00:12:22.580> you<00:12:22.660> know,<00:12:23.367> $350<00:12:23.881> million<00:12:24.121> of<00:12:24.186> revenue.
00:12:25.872 --> 00:12:27.525
We,<00:12:26.911> so<00:12:26.931> it's<00:12:27.172> busy.
00:12:28.119 --> 00:12:30.383
And<00:12:28.200> I<00:12:28.280> try<00:12:28.585> and<00:12:28.681> make<00:12:28.842> sure<00:12:29.067> that<00:12:29.147> I<00:12:29.243> manage<00:12:30.046> my<00:12:30.287> day.
00:12:30.849 --> 00:12:35.071
I<00:12:31.009> always<00:12:31.202> start<00:12:31.636> off<00:12:31.812> with,<00:12:32.214> you<00:12:32.294> know,<00:12:32.519> hey,<00:12:32.695> let's<00:12:32.936> take<00:12:33.113> a<00:12:33.241> look<00:12:33.354> at<00:12:33.434> the<00:12:33.562> day<00:12:34.461> fairly<00:12:34.702> early.
00:12:35.649 --> 00:12:36.822
What<00:12:35.746> is<00:12:35.906> it<00:12:35.987> I<00:12:36.051> need<00:12:36.211> to<00:12:36.292> accomplish?
00:12:37.335 --> 00:12:38.283
What<00:12:37.496> can<00:12:37.608> I<00:12:37.753> delegate?
00:12:39.519 --> 00:12:41.301
I<00:12:39.663> also<00:12:40.081> do<00:12:40.466> a<00:12:40.482> few<00:12:40.723> little<00:12:40.964> tricks.
00:12:41.365 --> 00:12:43.934
Like<00:12:42.088> I<00:12:42.168> don't<00:12:42.393> do<00:12:43.196> full<00:12:43.436> hour<00:12:43.613> meetings.
00:12:43.982 --> 00:12:46.037
I'll<00:12:44.079> do<00:12:44.159> 50-minute<00:12:44.721> meetings<00:12:45.684> that<00:12:45.781> way<00:12:45.925> there.
00:12:46.102 --> 00:12:50.758
I<00:12:46.246> can,<00:12:46.407> I<00:12:46.423> have<00:12:46.503> 10<00:12:46.664> minutes<00:12:46.904> either<00:12:47.209> prep,<00:12:47.868> make<00:12:47.964> sure<00:12:48.205> I'm,<00:12:48.430> I'm<00:12:48.590> ready<00:12:48.815> for<00:12:48.927> the<00:12:48.992> next<00:12:49.232> meeting<00:12:49.618> or<00:12:49.650> make<00:12:49.794> sure<00:12:49.955> I,<00:12:50.132> I'm<00:12:50.276> not<00:12:50.501> late.
00:12:51.850 --> 00:12:54.381
'Cause<00:12:52.026> I<00:12:52.042> think<00:12:52.138> that's<00:12:52.362> disrespectful<00:12:53.003> for,<00:12:53.324> for<00:12:53.484> people's<00:12:53.805> times<00:12:54.125> and<00:12:54.285> things.
00:12:54.430 --> 00:12:58.596
So<00:12:54.510> I<00:12:54.526> try<00:12:54.670> and<00:12:54.766> be<00:12:54.910> on<00:12:54.990> time<00:12:55.872> and<00:12:56.048> make<00:12:56.208> sure<00:12:56.449> that,<00:12:56.673> you<00:12:56.705> know,<00:12:56.753> if<00:12:56.833> it's<00:12:56.929> a<00:12:56.945> half<00:12:57.234> hour<00:12:57.330> meeting,<00:12:57.635> it<00:12:57.715> ends<00:12:57.891> at<00:12:58.131> 25.
00:12:59.413 --> 00:13:01.320
If<00:12:59.509> it's<00:12:59.574> an<00:12:59.718> hour<00:12:59.878> meeting,<00:13:00.535> it's<00:13:00.615> really<00:13:00.791> 50<00:13:01.112> minutes.
00:13:01.753 --> 00:13:03.147
So<00:13:01.881> I<00:13:01.897> try<00:13:02.057> and<00:13:02.218> manage<00:13:02.602> my<00:13:02.779> time.
00:13:03.884 --> 00:13:08.323
Um,<00:13:04.205> I<00:13:04.301> also<00:13:04.621> am<00:13:04.766> very<00:13:05.022> around,<00:13:05.567> you<00:13:05.599> know,<00:13:06.128> uh,<00:13:06.384> the,<00:13:06.945> the<00:13:07.025> metrics<00:13:07.570> and<00:13:07.827> objectives.
00:13:08.371 --> 00:13:11.640
So<00:13:08.532> I<00:13:08.612> try<00:13:08.692> and<00:13:08.788> say,<00:13:08.948> hey,<00:13:09.092> what<00:13:09.253> objectives<00:13:09.733> are<00:13:09.830> I,<00:13:09.990> what<00:13:10.086> do<00:13:10.166> I<00:13:10.230> gotta<00:13:10.455> do<00:13:10.551> today<00:13:10.791> to<00:13:10.903> match<00:13:11.352> those?
00:13:12.297 --> 00:13:17.073
Um,<00:13:12.474> and<00:13:12.618> then,<00:13:13.355> you<00:13:13.451> know,<00:13:13.580> I<00:13:13.676> really<00:13:13.900> try<00:13:14.156> and<00:13:14.237> focus<00:13:14.717> my<00:13:14.878> time<00:13:15.615> too<00:13:15.839> on<00:13:15.919> a<00:13:15.999> little<00:13:16.160> bit<00:13:16.320> of<00:13:16.480> thinking<00:13:16.801> time.
00:13:17.522 --> 00:13:24.287
During<00:13:17.682> the<00:13:17.762> day<00:13:18.003> because<00:13:18.307> there's<00:13:18.484> always<00:13:18.644> something<00:13:19.029> I<00:13:19.109> have<00:13:19.285> got<00:13:19.445> to<00:13:19.526> go<00:13:19.926> and<00:13:20.071> sort<00:13:20.391> out<00:13:21.048> and<00:13:21.129> make<00:13:21.289> a<00:13:21.369> good<00:13:21.513> decision<00:13:21.994> on<00:13:22.716> and<00:13:22.796> then<00:13:22.892> be<00:13:23.036> able<00:13:23.148> to<00:13:23.293> delegate<00:13:23.693> to<00:13:23.854> people.
00:13:24.816 --> 00:13:26.851
Um,<00:13:24.960> then<00:13:25.377> last<00:13:25.537> but<00:13:25.601> not<00:13:25.761> least,<00:13:25.938> make<00:13:26.162> a<00:13:26.258> bunch<00:13:26.435> of<00:13:26.499> time.
00:13:26.980 --> 00:13:28.679
And<00:13:27.124> like<00:13:27.284> today,<00:13:27.541> I've<00:13:27.781> talked<00:13:28.006> to<00:13:28.102> 2<00:13:28.246> customers.
00:13:29.609 --> 00:13:33.328
And<00:13:29.705> again,<00:13:29.865> like<00:13:30.025> I<00:13:30.041> said<00:13:30.266> before,<00:13:31.067> you<00:13:31.148> have<00:13:31.404> to<00:13:31.484> be<00:13:31.612> grounded<00:13:31.869> in<00:13:32.013> reality<00:13:32.350> where<00:13:32.446> the<00:13:32.510> money<00:13:32.751> changes<00:13:33.055> hands.
00:13:33.408 --> 00:13:37.303
It's<00:13:33.712> too<00:13:33.953> easy<00:13:34.899> to,<00:13:35.235> to,<00:13:35.572> to<00:13:35.780> lose<00:13:36.037> sight<00:13:36.341> of<00:13:36.518> things<00:13:36.774> if<00:13:36.902> you<00:13:36.999> don't.
00:13:38.441 --> 00:13:39.660
So<00:13:38.666> that's<00:13:38.922> kind<00:13:39.067> of<00:13:39.099> a<00:13:39.163> typical<00:13:39.467> day.
00:13:39.948 --> 00:13:40.942
I<00:13:39.964> do<00:13:40.125> the<00:13:40.429> interviews<00:13:40.766> too.
00:13:41.022 --> 00:13:43.555
So,<00:13:41.712> you<00:13:41.744> know,<00:13:41.792> I'm<00:13:41.888> doing<00:13:42.128> this,<00:13:42.673> uh,<00:13:42.914> as<00:13:43.074> well<00:13:43.250> today.
00:13:43.972 --> 00:13:48.564
I<00:13:44.052> don't<00:13:44.197> do<00:13:44.293> it<00:13:44.374> every<00:13:44.534> day,<00:13:44.775> but<00:13:45.080> I<00:13:45.337> try<00:13:45.482> and<00:13:45.562> do<00:13:45.658> something<00:13:45.931> probably<00:13:46.236> a<00:13:46.300> couple<00:13:46.557> of<00:13:46.605> weeks,<00:13:46.878> a<00:13:47.087> couple<00:13:47.280> of<00:13:47.328> times<00:13:47.970> every<00:13:48.131> couple<00:13:48.356> of<00:13:48.388> weeks.
00:13:48.613 --> 00:13:49.399
I'll<00:13:48.709> do<00:13:48.789> something<00:13:49.110> like<00:13:49.335> this.
00:13:49.656 --> 00:13:49.929
Yeah.
00:13:50.138 --> 00:13:50.893
Yeah,<00:13:50.315> that's<00:13:50.620> great.
00:13:50.957 --> 00:13:51.792
That's<00:13:51.358> incredible.
00:13:51.920 --> 00:13:53.413
I<00:13:51.936> mean,<00:13:52.129> it<00:13:52.177> sounds<00:13:52.482> like<00:13:52.643> you're<00:13:52.723> super<00:13:53.044> busy<00:13:53.349> here.
00:13:53.831 --> 00:13:59.820
How<00:13:53.927> did<00:13:54.072> you<00:13:54.168> land<00:13:54.553> on<00:13:56.159> hybrid,<00:13:57.444> in-person,<00:13:59.049> all<00:13:59.226> remote?
00:13:59.932 --> 00:14:03.449
That<00:14:00.109> whole<00:14:00.334> debate<00:14:00.767> that<00:14:00.896> we've<00:14:01.072> all<00:14:01.297> gone<00:14:01.618> through<00:14:02.261> and<00:14:02.437> so<00:14:02.534> many<00:14:02.742> companies<00:14:03.063> have<00:14:03.160> gone<00:14:03.385> through.
00:14:03.545 --> 00:14:06.660
Where<00:14:03.642> did<00:14:03.802> you<00:14:03.963> land<00:14:04.300> and<00:14:04.444> why<00:14:04.557> did<00:14:05.552> you<00:14:05.649> land<00:14:05.889> on<00:14:06.130> where<00:14:06.211> you<00:14:06.307> landed?
00:14:06.773 --> 00:14:12.499
Yeah,<00:14:07.174> so<00:14:09.583> We're<00:14:09.809> hybrid<00:14:11.903> for<00:14:11.951> the<00:14:12.032> most<00:14:12.306> part.
00:14:12.725 --> 00:14:20.770
We<00:14:12.886> do<00:14:13.111> let<00:14:13.627> some<00:14:13.868> of<00:14:14.094> the<00:14:14.271> locations,<00:14:17.750> because<00:14:17.830> we<00:14:17.926> have<00:14:18.087> our<00:14:18.408> R&D<00:14:18.681> centers<00:14:19.003> around<00:14:19.228> the<00:14:19.372> world,<00:14:20.015> determine<00:14:20.433> a<00:14:20.497> little<00:14:20.674> bit.
00:14:20.834 --> 00:14:25.301
Like<00:14:22.023> in<00:14:22.104> India,<00:14:22.361> for<00:14:22.505> example,<00:14:23.389> not<00:14:23.566> everybody<00:14:24.048> is<00:14:24.707> super<00:14:25.076> close.
00:14:25.349 --> 00:14:28.621
I<00:14:25.398> don't<00:14:25.526> know<00:14:25.558> if<00:14:25.639> you've<00:14:25.719> been<00:14:25.815> to<00:14:25.896> India,<00:14:26.217> but<00:14:26.362> it<00:14:26.458> can<00:14:26.619> be<00:14:26.779> difficult<00:14:27.165> to<00:14:27.310> travel<00:14:27.603> even<00:14:27.758> a<00:14:27.844> short<00:14:28.310> distance.
00:14:30.490 --> 00:14:32.530
And<00:14:30.539> the<00:14:30.652> public<00:14:30.895> transportation<00:14:31.623> isn't<00:14:32.093> the<00:14:32.190> best.
00:14:32.675 --> 00:14:36.576
So<00:14:33.630> it's<00:14:33.889> actually<00:14:34.132> been<00:14:34.278> okay<00:14:34.618> because<00:14:34.941> we<00:14:35.087> can<00:14:35.184> get<00:14:35.346> talent<00:14:35.751> that<00:14:36.074> may<00:14:36.236> not<00:14:36.479> be<00:14:36.511> there.
00:14:37.905 --> 00:14:45.261
But<00:14:38.226> we're<00:14:38.532> really<00:14:38.772> trying<00:14:39.029> hard<00:14:39.415> on<00:14:39.592> the<00:14:39.752> other<00:14:40.154> sites<00:14:40.635> where<00:14:40.780> we<00:14:40.876> can,<00:14:41.358> people<00:14:41.583> are<00:14:41.663> relatively<00:14:42.225> close<00:14:42.948> to<00:14:43.125> have<00:14:43.301> a<00:14:43.366> 2<00:14:43.510> to<00:14:43.590> 3<00:14:43.767> day<00:14:44.891> in<00:14:44.972> the<00:14:45.116> office.
00:14:46.240 --> 00:14:47.252
And<00:14:46.401> that's<00:14:46.578> worked<00:14:46.802> out<00:14:46.899> really<00:14:47.124> well.
00:14:47.782 --> 00:15:00.630
I<00:14:47.862> think<00:14:48.023> people<00:14:48.280> are<00:14:48.408> realizing<00:14:48.970> also,<00:14:50.095> you<00:14:50.175> know,<00:14:51.379> hey,<00:14:51.556> having<00:14:51.877> sometimes<00:14:52.600> the<00:14:53.242> QA<00:14:53.804> and<00:14:53.885> developers<00:14:55.073> right<00:14:55.394> there,<00:14:55.667> if<00:14:55.812> there's<00:14:56.053> an<00:14:56.133> issue<00:14:57.000> right<00:14:57.273> side<00:14:57.498> by<00:14:57.659> side,<00:14:58.687> you<00:14:58.719> know,<00:14:59.024> things<00:14:59.265> just<00:14:59.490> happen<00:15:00.148> more<00:15:00.293> quickly.
00:15:01.433 --> 00:15:03.408
I<00:15:01.513> mean,<00:15:01.754> you<00:15:01.834> don't<00:15:01.979> have<00:15:02.156> communication<00:15:02.782> issues<00:15:03.055> as<00:15:03.200> much.
00:15:04.068 --> 00:15:12.994
Um,<00:15:04.165> cuz<00:15:04.310> you're<00:15:04.390> looking<00:15:04.648> somebody<00:15:05.051> in<00:15:05.131> the<00:15:05.276> eye,<00:15:06.324> um,<00:15:06.888> and<00:15:07.210> you<00:15:07.307> can<00:15:07.468> kind<00:15:07.629> of<00:15:07.709> work<00:15:07.935> things,<00:15:08.193> build<00:15:08.370> a<00:15:08.515> little<00:15:08.676> bit<00:15:08.821> better<00:15:08.999> relationship<00:15:10.352> in<00:15:10.449> the,<00:15:10.771> the<00:15:10.852> 3D<00:15:11.335> environment<00:15:11.883> versus<00:15:12.157> the<00:15:12.270> 2D<00:15:12.543> environment.
00:15:13.735 --> 00:15:14.605
Um,<00:15:13.976> so<00:15:14.073> we're<00:15:14.234> hybrid.
00:15:15.023 --> 00:15:23.946
Um,<00:15:15.989> you<00:15:16.070> know,<00:15:16.569> we,<00:15:18.244> I<00:15:18.341> let<00:15:18.566> the,<00:15:18.824> the,<00:15:19.130> the,<00:15:19.548> the,<00:15:19.935> the<00:15:20.192> locations<00:15:20.756> do<00:15:20.917> it,<00:15:20.998> but<00:15:21.400> like<00:15:21.545> I<00:15:21.610> said,<00:15:21.706> 2,<00:15:21.819> 3<00:15:22.028> days<00:15:22.270> seems<00:15:22.431> to<00:15:22.512> work<00:15:22.689> out<00:15:22.753> pretty<00:15:22.995> well<00:15:23.108> for,<00:15:23.575> for<00:15:23.656> the<00:15:23.736> teams.
00:15:24.928 --> 00:15:25.428
Oh,<00:15:24.961> that's<00:15:25.170> interesting.
00:15:25.911 --> 00:15:26.443
What<00:15:25.992> do<00:15:26.056> you<00:15:26.217> read?
00:15:26.781 --> 00:15:30.229
What,<00:15:27.023> and<00:15:27.184> what<00:15:27.361> reading<00:15:27.603> recommendations<00:15:28.167> would<00:15:28.312> you<00:15:28.392> have<00:15:28.650> for<00:15:29.069> the<00:15:29.150> CEO.com<00:15:30.003> community?
00:15:31.047 --> 00:15:31.400
Oh<00:15:31.143> God.
00:15:31.480 --> 00:15:35.573
So<00:15:31.785> I<00:15:31.866> just<00:15:32.106> finished<00:15:32.443> a<00:15:32.572> book<00:15:32.829> called<00:15:33.551> The<00:15:33.775> Alchemist<00:15:34.594> by<00:15:34.754> Pablo<00:15:35.220> Coelho.
00:15:35.637 --> 00:15:36.680
I<00:15:35.717> don't<00:15:35.862> know<00:15:35.942> if<00:15:36.022> you<00:15:36.103> know<00:15:36.215> that<00:15:36.424> book.
00:15:37.082 --> 00:15:37.290
Great<00:15:37.242> book.
00:15:37.371 --> 00:15:38.061
It's<00:15:37.483> a<00:15:37.563> great<00:15:37.804> book.
00:15:38.189 --> 00:15:46.792
And<00:15:38.285> so<00:15:38.430> I<00:15:38.526> try<00:15:38.831> and<00:15:38.927> read<00:15:40.308> a<00:15:40.372> combination<00:15:41.319> of<00:15:42.201> fiction,<00:15:42.474> nonfiction,<00:15:43.887> and<00:15:44.063> I<00:15:44.143> thought<00:15:44.304> that's<00:15:44.609> just<00:15:44.769> a<00:15:44.850> good<00:15:45.026> book<00:15:45.732> to<00:15:45.829> kind<00:15:46.005> of<00:15:46.150> think<00:15:46.310> differently.
00:15:47.209 --> 00:15:52.650
I<00:15:47.273> think<00:15:47.450> if<00:15:47.739> you<00:15:47.835> can<00:15:48.220> kind<00:15:48.381> of<00:15:49.600> change<00:15:49.921> the<00:15:50.002> way<00:15:50.499> your<00:15:50.708> point<00:15:50.884> of<00:15:50.965> view<00:15:51.189> is,<00:15:51.286> it<00:15:51.430> helps<00:15:51.590> you<00:15:51.671> solve<00:15:51.927> problems<00:15:52.329> better.
00:15:53.516 --> 00:15:56.213
And<00:15:53.693> my<00:15:54.094> current<00:15:54.479> book<00:15:54.961> is<00:15:55.137> Never<00:15:55.378> Split<00:15:55.699> the<00:15:55.844> Difference.
00:15:56.996 --> 00:16:02.653
I<00:15:57.016> don't<00:15:57.224> know<00:15:57.321> if<00:15:57.401> you<00:15:57.465> know<00:15:57.690> that<00:15:57.867> one<00:15:58.092> by—<00:15:58.493> I<00:15:58.574> think<00:15:58.815> it's<00:15:59.232> Chris<00:15:59.537> Voss,<00:16:00.501> and<00:16:01.385> he<00:16:01.481> was<00:16:01.577> an<00:16:01.706> FBI<00:16:02.043> negotiator.
00:16:02.702 --> 00:16:05.095
So<00:16:02.927> it's<00:16:03.087> really<00:16:03.312> about<00:16:03.553> negotiation<00:16:04.533> and<00:16:04.677> how<00:16:04.774> to<00:16:04.854> do<00:16:04.999> it.
00:16:05.256 --> 00:16:11.841
The<00:16:05.336> stories<00:16:05.737> in<00:16:05.882> there<00:16:06.284> are<00:16:06.380> phenomenal,<00:16:07.344> and<00:16:07.488> I'm<00:16:08.147> maybe<00:16:09.175> 50<00:16:09.496> pages<00:16:09.898> through<00:16:10.058> that,<00:16:10.861> and<00:16:11.183> that's<00:16:11.343> a<00:16:11.359> good<00:16:11.520> book.
00:16:12.307 --> 00:16:19.471
I<00:16:12.387> would<00:16:12.484> recommend<00:16:12.949> it<00:16:13.030> to<00:16:13.190> anyone<00:16:14.074> and<00:16:14.797> has<00:16:14.893> some<00:16:15.054> good<00:16:15.214> principles<00:16:15.696> in<00:16:15.841> there,<00:16:15.985> at<00:16:16.017> least<00:16:16.580> 50<00:16:16.901> pages<00:16:17.286> in,<00:16:18.186> but<00:16:19.150> it's<00:16:19.310> good.
00:16:19.696 --> 00:16:24.498
And<00:16:20.900> I<00:16:20.997> try<00:16:21.157> and<00:16:21.318> read,<00:16:21.960> spend<00:16:22.603> time<00:16:23.004> each<00:16:23.229> day<00:16:23.486> reading<00:16:23.904> something.
00:16:25.253 --> 00:16:29.039
But<00:16:25.397> those<00:16:25.573> are<00:16:25.638> the<00:16:25.734> two<00:16:26.440> recently<00:16:26.777> finished<00:16:27.258> and<00:16:27.418> the<00:16:27.563> new<00:16:27.723> one<00:16:27.900> that,<00:16:28.686> that<00:16:28.734> I'm<00:16:28.862> reading.
00:16:30.049 --> 00:16:35.536
How<00:16:30.162> are<00:16:30.226> you<00:16:30.322> thinking<00:16:30.707> about—<00:16:31.333> we're<00:16:31.846> speaking<00:16:32.247> at<00:16:32.311> the<00:16:32.456> very<00:16:32.712> beginning<00:16:33.049> of<00:16:33.113> 2025,<00:16:33.915> early<00:16:34.156> January<00:16:34.637> in<00:16:34.718> 2025.
00:16:35.712 --> 00:16:39.514
2024<00:16:36.723> is<00:16:36.867> a<00:16:37.028> pretty<00:16:37.204> volatile<00:16:37.750> year<00:16:37.990> for<00:16:38.086> all<00:16:38.183> sorts<00:16:38.504> of<00:16:38.632> reasons,<00:16:39.193> right?
00:16:39.610 --> 00:16:45.273
There's<00:16:39.771> an<00:16:39.915> election,<00:16:40.573> there's<00:16:41.680> economic<00:16:42.899> recessions<00:16:43.685> or<00:16:43.846> close<00:16:44.102> to<00:16:44.407> in<00:16:44.503> certain<00:16:44.824> industries.
00:16:45.450 --> 00:16:46.701
Certain<00:16:45.642> industries<00:16:46.092> are<00:16:46.188> doing<00:16:46.412> really<00:16:46.589> well.
00:16:46.813 --> 00:16:49.172
Just<00:16:46.974> kind<00:16:47.134> of<00:16:47.215> an<00:16:47.936> uncertain<00:16:48.674> time<00:16:48.979> period.
00:16:49.236 --> 00:16:53.760
It<00:16:49.316> does<00:16:49.477> seem<00:16:49.701> like<00:16:49.862> we're<00:16:49.958> a<00:16:49.974> little<00:16:50.182> bit<00:16:50.343> more<00:16:50.455> certain<00:16:51.562> and<00:16:51.706> kind<00:16:51.883> of<00:16:51.915> like<00:16:52.204> what<00:16:52.348> our<00:16:52.525> world<00:16:52.749> is<00:16:52.846> going<00:16:52.942> to<00:16:53.006> look<00:16:53.231> like<00:16:53.471> this<00:16:53.648> year.
00:16:54.370 --> 00:16:57.418
How<00:16:54.530> are<00:16:54.755> you<00:16:54.851> thinking<00:16:55.236> about<00:16:55.413> 2025<00:16:56.055> versus<00:16:56.696> 2024?
00:16:58.124 --> 00:16:59.280
From<00:16:58.285> what<00:16:58.381> perspective<00:16:58.879> are<00:16:58.943> you<00:16:59.007> talking<00:16:59.167> about?
00:16:59.328 --> 00:17:02.360
Like<00:16:59.488> just<00:16:59.681> the<00:16:59.905> political<00:17:00.226> perspective,<00:17:01.093> uh,<00:17:01.349> tech<00:17:01.606> perspective?
00:17:02.457 --> 00:17:03.548
What,<00:17:02.874> what's<00:17:03.114> your<00:17:03.163> company?
00:17:03.596 --> 00:17:04.286
Yeah,<00:17:04.077> those.
00:17:04.382 --> 00:17:09.179
And,<00:17:04.623> and,<00:17:04.863> and<00:17:04.960> just<00:17:05.184> like,<00:17:05.505> uh,<00:17:05.906> how<00:17:06.147> you're<00:17:06.484> managing<00:17:07.029> your<00:17:07.190> company<00:17:07.912> differently,<00:17:08.409> if<00:17:08.714> you<00:17:08.875> are<00:17:08.971> at<00:17:09.115> all.
00:17:10.238 --> 00:17:17.234
Yeah,<00:17:10.639> I—<00:17:10.912> so<00:17:11.442> if<00:17:11.538> I<00:17:11.779> just<00:17:11.939> zoom<00:17:12.084> out,<00:17:12.276> it<00:17:12.485> feels<00:17:12.741> like—<00:17:12.998> and<00:17:13.287> again,<00:17:13.463> this<00:17:13.640> is<00:17:13.736> just<00:17:13.929> one<00:17:14.185> person's<00:17:14.570> point<00:17:14.667> of<00:17:14.747> view—<00:17:15.469> I<00:17:15.549> do<00:17:15.694> get<00:17:15.790> to<00:17:15.886> spend<00:17:16.175> time<00:17:16.416> with<00:17:16.737> governments.
00:17:17.378 --> 00:17:19.689
I<00:17:17.394> was<00:17:17.539> at<00:17:17.619> the<00:17:17.699> NATO<00:17:17.972> summit,<00:17:18.614> so<00:17:18.822> I<00:17:18.903> get<00:17:19.063> a<00:17:19.079> perspective.
00:17:20.122 --> 00:17:40.919
And<00:17:20.186> this<00:17:20.362> thing<00:17:20.506> I<00:17:20.586> keep<00:17:21.003> hearing<00:17:21.964> a<00:17:22.044> lot<00:17:22.349> is<00:17:22.846> practical<00:17:23.390> idealism,<00:17:25.153> and<00:17:25.249> that,<00:17:25.714> you<00:17:25.794> know,<00:17:25.954> hey,<00:17:26.130> we<00:17:26.210> want<00:17:26.403> to<00:17:26.451> make<00:17:26.611> sure<00:17:26.851> that<00:17:27.012> we're<00:17:27.652> spending<00:17:27.973> time<00:17:28.293> with,<00:17:28.918> you<00:17:28.998> know,<00:17:29.655> people<00:17:29.976> of<00:17:30.841> all<00:17:31.274> sides<00:17:31.658> of<00:17:32.059> the<00:17:32.203> fence<00:17:33.084> and<00:17:33.725> diverse<00:17:34.046> nature,<00:17:34.382> but<00:17:34.606> let's<00:17:34.718> be<00:17:34.863> practical<00:17:35.343> about<00:17:35.648> things<00:17:35.904> and<00:17:36.048> let's<00:17:36.209> make<00:17:36.321> sure<00:17:36.705> we're,<00:17:37.346> we're<00:17:37.571> thinking<00:17:37.843> about<00:17:38.308> what<00:17:38.468> makes<00:17:38.708> sense<00:17:39.109> and<00:17:39.269> what<00:17:39.429> we<00:17:39.509> can<00:17:39.670> afford<00:17:40.086> and<00:17:40.230> doing<00:17:40.407> the<00:17:40.471> right<00:17:40.791> thing.
00:17:41.817 --> 00:17:52.530
Um,<00:17:42.730> so<00:17:42.890> there's<00:17:43.259> that,<00:17:43.675> which<00:17:43.900> I<00:17:43.916> think<00:17:44.156> will,<00:17:44.621> you<00:17:44.653> know,<00:17:44.941> kind<00:17:45.117> of<00:17:45.197> help<00:17:45.518> when<00:17:45.662> people<00:17:45.918> thinking<00:17:46.223> about<00:17:46.463> critical<00:17:46.800> infrastructure,<00:17:47.424> should<00:17:47.681> we<00:17:49.221> think<00:17:49.400> about<00:17:49.857> whether<00:17:50.183> it's<00:17:51.324> spending<00:17:51.666> the<00:17:51.747> money<00:17:52.057> on<00:17:52.155> that.
00:17:53.149 --> 00:17:53.931
It's<00:17:53.296> super<00:17:53.556> important.
00:17:54.830 --> 00:18:02.510
I<00:17:55.006> feel<00:17:55.199> like<00:17:57.352> companies<00:17:58.059> are<00:17:58.702> looking<00:17:58.959> for<00:17:59.264> a<00:17:59.441> better<00:17:59.682> future<00:18:00.148> just<00:18:00.341> in<00:18:00.470> terms<00:18:00.711> of<00:18:00.743> seeing<00:18:00.968> the<00:18:01.209> economy<00:18:01.691> moving<00:18:01.948> in<00:18:02.028> that<00:18:02.253> direction.
00:18:02.574 --> 00:18:04.021
This<00:18:02.751> is<00:18:03.201> what<00:18:03.298> I<00:18:03.442> hear,<00:18:03.635> at<00:18:03.780> least.
00:18:04.722 --> 00:18:06.276
Is<00:18:05.353> it<00:18:05.677> monumental<00:18:06.114> better?
00:18:06.340 --> 00:18:06.599
No.
00:18:06.648 --> 00:18:09.610
But<00:18:06.810> I<00:18:06.891> do<00:18:06.988> feel<00:18:07.247> like<00:18:07.716> '25<00:18:09.011> will<00:18:09.092> be<00:18:09.253> better.
00:18:09.901 --> 00:18:17.843
I<00:18:09.982> think<00:18:10.095> there'll<00:18:10.225> be<00:18:10.322> more<00:18:10.532> acquisitions,<00:18:11.510> which<00:18:13.169> in<00:18:14.007> the<00:18:14.155> tech<00:18:14.352> space,<00:18:15.972> Kind<00:18:16.133> of<00:18:16.214> the<00:18:16.359> mergers<00:18:16.698> and<00:18:16.762> acquisitions<00:18:17.327> actually<00:18:17.649> help.
00:18:17.908 --> 00:18:20.182
Sometimes<00:18:18.295> one<00:18:18.456> and<00:18:18.537> one<00:18:18.730> equals<00:18:18.956> something<00:18:19.279> way<00:18:19.440> better<00:18:19.746> than<00:18:19.988> two.
00:18:20.327 --> 00:18:21.795
And<00:18:20.827> so<00:18:20.956> I,<00:18:21.134> we<00:18:21.295> feel<00:18:21.456> like<00:18:21.682> that.
00:18:21.860 --> 00:18:24.070
You<00:18:21.940> can<00:18:22.021> just<00:18:22.182> go<00:18:22.344> look<00:18:22.505> at<00:18:22.586> whether<00:18:22.811> it's<00:18:23.053> IPOs<00:18:23.311> or<00:18:23.537> acquisitions.
00:18:24.118 --> 00:18:25.102
They<00:18:24.199> were<00:18:24.360> down<00:18:24.666> last<00:18:24.989> year.
00:18:25.534 --> 00:18:26.313
I<00:18:25.554> think<00:18:25.667> those<00:18:25.780> will<00:18:25.893> go<00:18:26.119> up.
00:18:27.008 --> 00:18:32.534
Um,<00:18:28.462> there's<00:18:28.704> definitely<00:18:29.108> a<00:18:29.189> heightened<00:18:30.094> interest<00:18:30.563> in<00:18:30.660> cybersecurity<00:18:31.613> that's<00:18:31.856> not<00:18:32.033> going<00:18:32.276> away.
00:18:33.068 --> 00:18:37.725
And<00:18:33.552> I<00:18:33.649> think<00:18:33.892> that,<00:18:34.761> um,<00:18:36.549> it's<00:18:36.646> not<00:18:36.807> an<00:18:37.032> if,<00:18:37.209> it's<00:18:37.435> when.
00:18:38.224 --> 00:18:57.850
Um,<00:18:38.481> and<00:18:38.562> then<00:18:38.804> last<00:18:39.045> but<00:18:39.158> not<00:18:39.303> least,<00:18:39.593> I<00:18:39.689> think<00:18:40.011> some<00:18:40.189> of<00:18:40.317> the<00:18:40.398> things<00:18:40.720> like,<00:18:41.525> um,<00:18:41.767> the<00:18:41.847> Disclosure<00:18:42.491> Act<00:18:42.652> that<00:18:42.749> happened<00:18:43.576> last<00:18:44.395> January,<00:18:45.840> which<00:18:46.081> was<00:18:46.305> to<00:18:46.386> say,<00:18:46.643> hey,<00:18:48.248> you're<00:18:48.393> going<00:18:48.473> to<00:18:48.537> have<00:18:48.634> personal<00:18:48.971> liability<00:18:49.549> if<00:18:49.677> you<00:18:49.774> don't—<00:18:50.641> you<00:18:50.737> know,<00:18:50.801> there's<00:18:51.122> several<00:18:51.460> things<00:18:51.684> you<00:18:51.717> needed<00:18:52.006> to<00:18:52.086> go<00:18:52.246> do<00:18:52.423> as<00:18:52.519> a<00:18:52.584> CEO,<00:18:53.146> COO,<00:18:53.451> or<00:18:53.884> CFO<00:18:55.137> that<00:18:55.458> you<00:18:55.554> could<00:18:55.634> have<00:18:55.779> personal<00:18:56.084> liability<00:18:56.501> if<00:18:56.598> you<00:18:56.742> didn't<00:18:57.320> do<00:18:57.417> certain<00:18:57.722> things.
00:18:57.979 --> 00:19:01.029
And<00:18:58.043> we<00:18:58.123> see<00:18:58.364> that<00:18:58.508> happening<00:18:58.862> around<00:18:59.070> the<00:18:59.151> world<00:18:59.408> with<00:18:59.632> NIST<00:18:59.873> 2<00:19:00.210> and<00:19:00.355> some<00:19:00.532> of<00:19:00.564> the<00:19:00.676> other<00:19:00.853> things.
00:19:01.495 --> 00:19:06.521
So<00:19:02.218> I<00:19:02.378> feel<00:19:02.539> like<00:19:02.844> there's<00:19:03.085> a<00:19:03.101> lineup<00:19:03.502> between<00:19:04.626> both<00:19:04.867> public<00:19:05.204> and<00:19:05.268> private<00:19:05.670> for<00:19:05.830> the<00:19:05.911> first<00:19:06.232> time.
00:19:07.597 --> 00:19:11.706
And<00:19:07.741> I<00:19:07.837> just<00:19:07.982> spoke<00:19:08.319> with<00:19:09.363> a<00:19:09.427> couple<00:19:09.668> people<00:19:09.940> with,<00:19:10.229> um,<00:19:10.871> A,<00:19:10.968> at<00:19:11.048> the<00:19:11.128> NATO<00:19:11.369> summit.
00:19:11.770 --> 00:19:20.052
It<00:19:11.851> was<00:19:12.316> in<00:19:12.476> it,<00:19:12.653> and<00:19:12.749> it<00:19:12.894> just,<00:19:13.119> just<00:19:13.279> now,<00:19:13.440> follow-up<00:19:13.873> yesterday,<00:19:14.322> follow-up<00:19:14.579> meeting<00:19:14.804> from<00:19:15.045> those<00:19:15.237> meetings,<00:19:16.008> which<00:19:16.168> was<00:19:16.281> about,<00:19:16.569> hey,<00:19:16.730> how<00:19:16.826> do<00:19:16.890> we<00:19:17.067> work<00:19:17.388> better<00:19:17.629> together<00:19:18.335> between<00:19:18.752> private<00:19:19.041> and<00:19:19.154> public,<00:19:19.555> and<00:19:19.619> what<00:19:19.715> do<00:19:19.860> we<00:19:19.956> do?
00:19:20.823 --> 00:19:22.300
And,<00:19:21.224> um,<00:19:21.642> so<00:19:21.738> that's<00:19:22.027> good.
00:19:22.990 --> 00:19:32.973
And<00:19:23.327> then<00:19:23.487> the<00:19:23.568> other<00:19:23.728> piece<00:19:23.985> is<00:19:24.113> just,<00:19:24.515> you<00:19:24.547> know,<00:19:25.012> I<00:19:25.157> do<00:19:25.253> feel<00:19:25.413> like<00:19:25.638> AI<00:19:25.831> is<00:19:25.975> maturing<00:19:26.377> a<00:19:26.457> bit,<00:19:27.324> um,<00:19:27.725> and<00:19:27.837> it's<00:19:28.383> become<00:19:29.185> more<00:19:29.892> advantageous,<00:19:30.550> and<00:19:30.630> we<00:19:30.774> can<00:19:31.336> use<00:19:31.529> it<00:19:31.657> to<00:19:31.754> be<00:19:32.380> more<00:19:32.540> efficient.
00:19:33.503 --> 00:19:48.900
And<00:19:33.615> I<00:19:33.680> don't<00:19:34.145> want<00:19:34.225> to<00:19:34.322> say<00:19:34.482> do<00:19:34.579> more<00:19:34.787> with<00:19:34.964> less,<00:19:35.365> because<00:19:35.574> it's<00:19:35.702> not<00:19:35.782> like<00:19:36.151> we<00:19:36.248> have<00:19:36.392> less<00:19:36.569> people,<00:19:36.890> but<00:19:37.420> the<00:19:37.620> more<00:19:37.840> I<00:19:37.920> can<00:19:38.040> put<00:19:38.160> hands<00:19:38.400> on<00:19:38.580> keyboards<00:19:38.960> building<00:19:39.320> stuff<00:19:39.740> that<00:19:40.100> will<00:19:41.320> delight<00:19:41.680> customers<00:19:42.260> versus,<00:19:43.500> hey,<00:19:43.501> that's<00:19:43.700> just<00:19:43.920> something<00:19:44.140> that<00:19:44.320> you<00:19:44.520> should<00:19:44.680> just<00:19:44.840> go<00:19:45.020> do<00:19:45.180> anyway,<00:19:45.560> like<00:19:45.960> QA<00:19:46.380> or<00:19:46.500> something<00:19:46.800> like<00:19:47.120> that,<00:19:47.760> the<00:19:48.360> better<00:19:48.600> it<00:19:48.800> is.
00:19:48.900 --> 00:19:51.540
So<00:19:49.040> I<00:19:49.041> think<00:19:49.280> we're<00:19:49.480> going<00:19:49.481> to<00:19:49.580> see<00:19:49.740> some<00:19:49.880> advances<00:19:50.260> this<00:19:50.520> year<00:19:50.800> with<00:19:51.040> that.
00:19:52.460 --> 00:19:53.220
Yeah,<00:19:52.640> it's<00:19:52.820> interesting.
00:19:53.220 --> 00:19:54.420
You<00:19:53.540> went<00:19:53.680> to<00:19:53.820> the<00:19:53.900> NATO<00:19:54.100> summit.
00:19:54.420 --> 00:19:56.440
That's<00:19:54.620> going<00:19:54.640> to<00:19:54.720> be<00:19:54.820> a<00:19:54.920> big<00:19:55.120> topic<00:19:55.420> this<00:19:55.700> year,<00:19:55.940> right?
00:19:56.640 --> 00:19:58.680
NATO<00:19:57.020> is<00:19:57.220> going<00:19:57.360> to<00:19:57.440> be<00:19:57.580> a<00:19:57.700> very<00:19:57.940> big<00:19:58.180> topic.
00:19:58.920 --> 00:20:01.020
Yeah,<00:19:59.340> that's<00:19:59.820> true.
00:20:01.460 --> 00:20:02.880
Which<00:20:02.040> will<00:20:02.240> be<00:20:02.340> interesting.
00:20:02.880 --> 00:20:04.500
And<00:20:03.140> I'm<00:20:03.320> sure<00:20:03.500> it'll<00:20:03.700> all<00:20:03.860> work<00:20:04.160> out.
00:20:04.500 --> 00:20:04.960
Who<00:20:04.501> knows?
00:20:04.960 --> 00:20:07.180
But<00:20:05.480> yeah,<00:20:05.700> that's<00:20:06.000> going<00:20:06.100> to<00:20:06.180> be<00:20:06.280> a<00:20:06.380> very<00:20:06.500> interesting<00:20:06.880> topic.
00:20:07.788 --> 00:20:14.226
What<00:20:07.901> are<00:20:08.127> some<00:20:08.369> products,<00:20:09.079> some<00:20:09.256> things,<00:20:09.902> some<00:20:10.208> apps,<00:20:10.708> things<00:20:10.934> that<00:20:11.096> you<00:20:11.257> use<00:20:11.515> every<00:20:11.773> single<00:20:12.160> day<00:20:12.322> that<00:20:12.483> you<00:20:12.644> could<00:20:13.128> never<00:20:13.612> live<00:20:13.854> without?
00:20:16.403 --> 00:20:17.540
Oh,<00:20:16.726> God,<00:20:16.997> my<00:20:17.183> phone.
00:20:19.822 --> 00:20:21.482
And<00:20:20.612> the<00:20:20.724> myriad<00:20:21.095> of<00:20:21.256> apps.
00:20:21.659 --> 00:20:22.094
I<00:20:21.707> got<00:20:21.917> an<00:20:22.013> iPhone.
00:20:22.142 --> 00:20:30.782
The<00:20:22.223> myriad<00:20:22.561> of<00:20:22.706> apps<00:20:23.028> on<00:20:23.286> the<00:20:23.367> phone,<00:20:23.592> although<00:20:24.156> I<00:20:25.284> sort<00:20:25.445> of<00:20:25.542> forced<00:20:25.783> myself<00:20:26.186> to<00:20:26.331> use<00:20:26.573> an<00:20:27.137> Android<00:20:27.475> for<00:20:27.636> a<00:20:27.701> while<00:20:28.506> to<00:20:28.603> go<00:20:28.845> and<00:20:29.410> just<00:20:29.555> to<00:20:29.636> learn<00:20:29.814> both<00:20:29.975> sides<00:20:30.314> of<00:20:30.379> the<00:20:30.459> fence.
00:20:31.589 --> 00:20:37.591
But<00:20:31.912> my<00:20:32.057> phone,<00:20:33.348> and<00:20:34.171> I<00:20:34.333> use<00:20:34.962> also—<00:20:35.892> I<00:20:35.972> think<00:20:36.196> it's<00:20:36.308> important<00:20:36.757> as<00:20:36.821> a<00:20:36.853> little<00:20:37.030> side<00:20:37.430> thing.
00:20:38.520 --> 00:20:41.438
Part<00:20:38.681> of<00:20:38.713> the<00:20:38.777> thing<00:20:39.017> I<00:20:39.178> do<00:20:39.402> for<00:20:39.642> just<00:20:39.899> my<00:20:40.059> mental<00:20:40.380> health<00:20:40.636> is<00:20:40.925> working<00:20:41.245> out.
00:20:41.502 --> 00:20:54.005
So,<00:20:41.742> some<00:20:41.983> of<00:20:42.063> the<00:20:42.624> interesting<00:20:43.089> applications<00:20:43.666> that<00:20:43.810> are<00:20:43.842> in<00:20:43.970> and<00:20:44.067> around<00:20:45.189> being<00:20:45.349> able<00:20:45.493> to<00:20:45.589> track<00:20:45.894> your<00:20:45.990> vitals<00:20:46.391> whether<00:20:46.551> it's<00:20:46.679> your<00:20:46.776> heart<00:20:47.016> rate<00:20:47.417> or<00:20:48.218> your<00:20:48.539> recovery<00:20:49.421> rates<00:20:49.837> and<00:20:50.238> things<00:20:50.414> like<00:20:50.623> that,<00:20:50.863> that<00:20:51.184> blood<00:20:51.344> pressure<00:20:51.601> and<00:20:51.681> everything<00:20:51.921> to<00:20:52.017> say,<00:20:52.226> "Hey,<00:20:53.043> are<00:20:53.187> you<00:20:53.220> stressed<00:20:53.749> out?
00:20:54.390 --> 00:20:55.095
Are<00:20:54.470> you<00:20:54.566> recovering?
00:20:55.448 --> 00:21:00.096
Do<00:20:55.496> you<00:20:55.544> need<00:20:55.768> more<00:20:55.929> sleep?"<00:20:56.409> So,<00:20:57.195> kind<00:20:57.371> of<00:20:57.435> like<00:20:57.612> biohacking<00:20:59.215> myself<00:20:59.679> a<00:20:59.760> little<00:20:59.856> bit.
00:21:00.176 --> 00:21:02.453
And<00:21:00.337> so,<00:21:00.481> there's<00:21:00.657> a<00:21:00.673> bunch<00:21:00.898> of<00:21:00.978> apps<00:21:01.218> that<00:21:01.363> I<00:21:01.443> use<00:21:02.180> for<00:21:02.292> that.
00:21:05.310 --> 00:21:17.447
Look,<00:21:06.096> email<00:21:06.417> and<00:21:06.578> text,<00:21:07.862> I<00:21:07.959> think<00:21:08.505> I<00:21:08.986> turned<00:21:09.243> off—<00:21:10.030> you<00:21:10.126> can<00:21:10.351> have<00:21:10.511> on<00:21:11.009> Apple,<00:21:11.346> it's<00:21:11.635> like<00:21:12.197> how<00:21:12.310> much<00:21:12.534> time<00:21:12.775> you're<00:21:12.855> spending<00:21:13.401> on<00:21:14.284> different<00:21:14.541> kinds<00:21:14.766> of<00:21:14.862> apps<00:21:15.183> or<00:21:15.248> how<00:21:15.344> much<00:21:15.505> time<00:21:15.729> you<00:21:15.826> spend<00:21:17.014> connected.
00:21:17.576 --> 00:21:18.346
Microsoft,<00:21:18.025> same<00:21:18.234> thing.
00:21:18.394 --> 00:21:23.709
I<00:21:18.539> turned<00:21:18.716> all<00:21:18.796> that<00:21:18.956> off<00:21:18.988> because<00:21:19.775> it<00:21:19.839> was<00:21:19.936> scaring<00:21:20.321> the<00:21:20.401> hell<00:21:20.498> out<00:21:20.562> of<00:21:20.706> me<00:21:20.803> when<00:21:20.947> I'd<00:21:21.060> see,<00:21:21.509> oh,<00:21:21.686> you<00:21:21.766> spent<00:21:22.344> X<00:21:22.569> number<00:21:22.810> of<00:21:22.954> hours<00:21:23.452> doing<00:21:23.596> this.
00:21:23.773 --> 00:21:24.833
I'm<00:21:23.869> like,<00:21:24.816> ah.
00:21:24.977 --> 00:21:28.878
So<00:21:26.005> I<00:21:26.021> did<00:21:26.181> turn<00:21:26.406> that<00:21:26.583> off<00:21:26.743> because<00:21:26.968> I<00:21:27.064> think<00:21:27.225> that's<00:21:27.450> just<00:21:27.690> an<00:21:28.413> angst<00:21:28.750> thing.
00:21:29.328 --> 00:21:33.666
I<00:21:29.408> stopped<00:21:30.115> looking<00:21:30.356> at<00:21:30.983> a<00:21:30.999> lot<00:21:31.160> of<00:21:31.240> social<00:21:31.513> media<00:21:32.750> and<00:21:32.991> reels<00:21:33.248> and<00:21:33.328> stuff.
00:21:33.794 --> 00:21:34.341
That's<00:21:33.939> healthy.
00:21:35.096 --> 00:21:39.404
I<00:21:35.433> mean,<00:21:36.622> LinkedIn<00:21:37.024> is<00:21:37.265> probably<00:21:37.490> the<00:21:37.586> only<00:21:37.747> one<00:21:37.907> that<00:21:38.052> I<00:21:38.148> look<00:21:38.373> at<00:21:38.614> a<00:21:38.695> lot<00:21:39.032> all<00:21:39.113> the<00:21:39.194> time.
00:21:39.500 --> 00:21:44.471
I<00:21:39.581> just<00:21:39.839> don't,<00:21:40.565> just<00:21:40.727> because<00:21:41.130> the<00:21:41.275> other<00:21:41.372> ones,<00:21:41.614> I<00:21:41.695> think,<00:21:43.954> you<00:21:44.035> waste<00:21:44.277> time.
00:21:44.584 --> 00:21:55.035
I<00:21:44.680> think<00:21:45.729> not<00:21:45.891> that<00:21:46.681> if<00:21:46.778> people<00:21:47.036> use<00:21:47.165> them<00:21:47.278> and<00:21:47.424> don't<00:21:47.649> waste<00:21:47.827> time,<00:21:47.988> but<00:21:48.134> just<00:21:48.295> for<00:21:48.360> me,<00:21:48.636> I<00:21:48.652> could<00:21:49.350> do<00:21:49.448> other<00:21:49.675> things<00:21:49.919> like<00:21:50.828> spend<00:21:51.072> time<00:21:51.234> with<00:21:51.332> my<00:21:51.478> family,<00:21:52.127> or<00:21:52.680> hey,<00:21:52.777> I<00:21:52.858> could<00:21:53.021> go<00:21:53.264> and<00:21:54.093> spend<00:21:54.401> time<00:21:54.564> reading<00:21:54.807> a<00:21:54.888> book.
00:21:55.810 --> 00:21:59.903
Because<00:21:56.392> you're<00:21:56.586> looking<00:21:56.877> at<00:21:56.958> reels<00:21:57.217> and<00:21:57.282> all<00:21:57.314> of<00:21:57.363> a<00:21:57.379> sudden<00:21:57.541> you<00:21:57.638> turn<00:21:57.735> around<00:21:57.929> and<00:21:58.026> you're<00:21:58.123> like,<00:21:58.414> that's<00:21:59.482> an<00:21:59.789> hour.
00:22:01.398 --> 00:22:03.006
So<00:22:02.266> I<00:22:02.411> went<00:22:02.524> away<00:22:02.733> from<00:22:02.829> that.
00:22:03.055 --> 00:22:07.028
And<00:22:03.151> so<00:22:03.296> I<00:22:03.457> think<00:22:03.569> I<00:22:03.698> went<00:22:03.859> from,<00:22:04.438> although<00:22:04.599> it's<00:22:04.711> still<00:22:04.921> digital,<00:22:05.403> I<00:22:05.468> use<00:22:05.580> a<00:22:05.644> Kindle,<00:22:06.207> but<00:22:06.288> it's<00:22:06.481> still<00:22:06.690> digital.
00:22:07.173 --> 00:22:08.685
But<00:22:07.253> I<00:22:07.398> call<00:22:07.510> that<00:22:07.720> the<00:22:07.880> analog,<00:22:08.234> a<00:22:08.379> book.
00:22:09.623 --> 00:22:10.742
Try<00:22:09.785> and<00:22:09.931> force<00:22:10.255> myself.
00:22:10.920 --> 00:22:13.369
And<00:22:11.001> this<00:22:11.163> year,<00:22:11.309> one<00:22:11.423> of<00:22:11.472> my<00:22:11.569> resolutions<00:22:12.136> would<00:22:12.623> be<00:22:12.720> more<00:22:13.012> analog.
00:22:13.417 --> 00:22:21.386
So<00:22:14.082> books,<00:22:15.525> have<00:22:15.704> a<00:22:15.769> conversation<00:22:16.352> with<00:22:16.514> people,<00:22:17.322> reach<00:22:17.634> out,<00:22:18.961> maybe<00:22:20.091> use<00:22:20.271> less<00:22:20.583> text<00:22:21.009> and<00:22:21.091> more<00:22:21.320> phone.
00:22:22.717 --> 00:22:23.888
I<00:22:22.733> love<00:22:23.840> it.
00:22:24.241 --> 00:22:26.197
Yeah,<00:22:25.443> that<00:22:25.555> is<00:22:25.636> incredible.
00:22:26.405 --> 00:22:31.360
And<00:22:26.982> I<00:22:27.063> wonder,<00:22:27.447> like,<00:22:27.624> as<00:22:27.704> you<00:22:27.784> were<00:22:27.864> saying<00:22:28.185> that,<00:22:28.730> and<00:22:29.612> you<00:22:29.772> have<00:22:29.917> a<00:22:29.933> team<00:22:30.093> of<00:22:30.125> like<00:22:30.350> 1,100,<00:22:30.879> is<00:22:30.911> that<00:22:30.959> what<00:22:31.055> you<00:22:31.151> said?
00:22:31.857 --> 00:22:32.049
Yeah.
00:22:32.274 --> 00:22:32.915
1,100<00:22:32.578> folks.
00:22:33.540 --> 00:22:40.258
And<00:22:34.438> during<00:22:34.679> COVID<00:22:35.015> so<00:22:35.176> many<00:22:35.384> leaders<00:22:35.705> were<00:22:35.801> dealing<00:22:36.122> with<00:22:36.362> like<00:22:36.539> a<00:22:36.603> mental<00:22:36.988> health<00:22:37.228> crisis<00:22:37.565> within<00:22:37.950> their<00:22:38.447> employee<00:22:38.928> base,<00:22:39.633> themselves.
00:22:40.531 --> 00:22:42.696
I<00:22:40.547> mean,<00:22:40.852> it<00:22:41.333> seems<00:22:41.589> like<00:22:41.734> it's<00:22:41.830> still<00:22:41.990> a<00:22:42.038> little<00:22:42.215> bit<00:22:42.375> ongoing.
00:22:43.257 --> 00:22:44.155
How<00:22:43.337> have<00:22:43.561> you<00:22:43.658> managed<00:22:44.059> that?
00:22:44.219 --> 00:22:45.277
How<00:22:44.363> have<00:22:44.475> you<00:22:44.620> thought<00:22:44.844> about<00:22:45.101> that?
00:22:45.421 --> 00:22:51.195
How<00:22:45.822> are<00:22:46.367> you<00:22:46.880> approaching<00:22:47.666> that<00:22:47.891> issue<00:22:48.243> that<00:22:48.468> it<00:22:48.532> seems<00:22:48.772> like<00:22:48.949> every<00:22:49.189> leader<00:22:49.494> is<00:22:50.472> being<00:22:50.617> confronted<00:22:51.099> with.
00:22:51.741 --> 00:22:58.340
Yeah,<00:22:52.078> you<00:22:52.158> know,<00:22:52.496> it's<00:22:52.640> a<00:22:52.704> really<00:22:52.881> good—<00:22:53.122> I<00:22:53.202> mean,<00:22:53.427> it<00:22:53.459> was,<00:22:53.700> it<00:22:53.748> was<00:22:53.925> tougher<00:22:54.165> during<00:22:54.326> the<00:22:54.406> pandemic<00:22:55.530> because—<00:22:55.932> and<00:22:56.012> then<00:22:56.157> post-pandemic,<00:22:56.895> like<00:22:57.216> right<00:22:57.441> post-pandemic,<00:22:58.099> right?
00:22:58.677 --> 00:23:03.045
So<00:22:59.223> it<00:22:59.288> was—<00:23:00.090> we<00:23:00.251> could<00:23:00.363> see<00:23:00.668> it<00:23:00.990> in<00:23:01.134> our,<00:23:02.017> um,<00:23:02.338> healthcare<00:23:02.820> charge.
00:23:03.093 --> 00:23:16.629
I<00:23:03.109> mean,<00:23:03.237> they<00:23:03.270> don't<00:23:03.382> tell<00:23:03.543> you<00:23:03.703> whom,<00:23:04.522> but<00:23:04.923> we'd<00:23:05.084> see<00:23:05.389> it<00:23:05.421> was<00:23:05.726> up<00:23:05.951> by<00:23:06.096> 125%,<00:23:08.119> people<00:23:08.360> going<00:23:08.632> and<00:23:08.697> having<00:23:09.002> health,<00:23:09.724> you<00:23:09.756> know,<00:23:09.837> mental<00:23:10.142> health<00:23:10.447> related,<00:23:11.089> um,<00:23:12.454> you<00:23:12.486> know,<00:23:12.631> sort<00:23:12.855> of,<00:23:13.514> uh,<00:23:13.755> engagements<00:23:14.236> with<00:23:14.397> our<00:23:15.264> medical<00:23:16.147> their<00:23:16.243> Medicare.
00:23:17.143 --> 00:23:19.664
So,<00:23:17.753> um,<00:23:18.636> you<00:23:18.716> know,<00:23:18.797> I<00:23:18.893> think<00:23:19.054> there's<00:23:19.150> a<00:23:19.214> few<00:23:19.391> things.
00:23:19.760 --> 00:23:23.775
One,<00:23:20.563> um,<00:23:21.382> I<00:23:21.543> think<00:23:21.687> it's<00:23:21.783> important<00:23:22.185> for<00:23:22.329> people<00:23:22.651> to<00:23:22.747> go<00:23:22.908> spend<00:23:23.148> time<00:23:23.373> with<00:23:23.534> people.
00:23:24.915 --> 00:23:30.905
And<00:23:25.220> there's<00:23:25.397> a<00:23:25.461> lot<00:23:25.637> of<00:23:25.702> research<00:23:26.296> that<00:23:26.585> shows<00:23:27.002> that<00:23:27.629> some<00:23:27.821> of<00:23:27.886> the<00:23:28.110> angst<00:23:28.351> at<00:23:28.528> work<00:23:29.395> is<00:23:30.037> about<00:23:30.294> confrontation.
00:23:31.820 --> 00:23:39.432
And<00:23:31.964> I<00:23:32.045> think<00:23:32.366> that<00:23:32.783> if<00:23:32.864> you<00:23:33.008> can<00:23:33.105> have<00:23:33.265> confrontation<00:23:34.148> and<00:23:34.229> it's<00:23:34.389> constructive<00:23:35.899> and<00:23:36.702> have<00:23:36.878> a<00:23:36.943> face-to-face,<00:23:38.484> you<00:23:38.564> feel<00:23:38.805> way<00:23:38.966> better<00:23:39.191> after.
00:23:40.010 --> 00:23:41.921
And<00:23:40.074> there's<00:23:40.186> so<00:23:40.251> much<00:23:40.395> research<00:23:40.797> on—<00:23:40.893> God,<00:23:41.134> I<00:23:41.198> feel<00:23:41.359> so<00:23:41.535> much<00:23:41.760> better.
00:23:42.001 --> 00:23:43.960
Even<00:23:42.178> tell<00:23:42.290> my<00:23:42.563> kids,<00:23:42.820> you<00:23:42.900> know,<00:23:43.302> I<00:23:43.366> have<00:23:43.462> an<00:23:43.543> issue<00:23:43.703> at<00:23:43.848> work.
00:23:44.041 --> 00:23:46.113
I<00:23:44.105> said,<00:23:44.491> have<00:23:44.603> a<00:23:44.667> conversation<00:23:45.149> with<00:23:45.230> them,<00:23:45.712> go<00:23:45.808> meet<00:23:46.017> them.
00:23:46.756 --> 00:23:48.652
And<00:23:46.836> then<00:23:47.238> they'll<00:23:47.832> say<00:23:47.961> sky<00:23:48.266> is<00:23:48.443> falling.
00:23:48.700 --> 00:23:50.676
And<00:23:48.829> after,<00:23:49.166> wow,<00:23:49.391> he<00:23:49.487> was<00:23:49.632> really<00:23:49.809> nice,<00:23:50.066> or<00:23:50.130> she<00:23:50.291> was<00:23:50.451> nice.
00:23:50.757 --> 00:23:51.431
Hey,<00:23:50.837> we<00:23:50.917> got<00:23:51.078> through<00:23:51.255> this.
00:23:51.672 --> 00:23:57.151
So<00:23:51.881> have<00:23:52.122> that<00:23:52.219> constructive<00:23:52.861> confrontation<00:23:53.456> because<00:23:54.147> typically<00:23:54.629> that<00:23:54.870> was<00:23:55.030> a<00:23:55.175> big<00:23:55.577> push<00:23:55.818> for<00:23:55.914> some<00:23:56.155> of<00:23:56.187> the<00:23:56.316> anxiety<00:23:56.862> and<00:23:56.958> stuff.
00:23:57.601 --> 00:24:00.252
The<00:23:57.681> other<00:23:57.906> piece<00:23:58.228> is<00:23:58.324> about<00:23:59.449> reach<00:23:59.690> out<00:23:59.834> to<00:23:59.931> people.
00:24:00.798 --> 00:24:01.827
Hey,<00:24:01.056> how<00:24:01.297> you<00:24:01.538> doing?
00:24:02.325 --> 00:24:05.988
And<00:24:03.048> I<00:24:03.064> only<00:24:03.225> say<00:24:03.385> this,<00:24:03.883> I<00:24:03.899> don't<00:24:04.012> want<00:24:04.108> to<00:24:04.140> say<00:24:04.253> halfway<00:24:04.574> joking,<00:24:04.896> but<00:24:04.992> I<00:24:05.008> say<00:24:05.233> it<00:24:05.313> because<00:24:05.570> it's<00:24:05.779> honest.
00:24:06.036 --> 00:24:09.587
I<00:24:06.117> say,<00:24:06.583> hey,<00:24:06.759> this<00:24:08.109> is<00:24:08.270> a<00:24:08.286> health<00:24:08.848> and<00:24:08.993> welfare<00:24:09.394> check.
00:24:09.700 --> 00:24:10.197
What's<00:24:09.876> going<00:24:10.117> on?
00:24:11.000 --> 00:24:11.868
Reach<00:24:11.177> out<00:24:11.338> to<00:24:11.402> your<00:24:11.482> employees.
00:24:12.077 --> 00:24:12.398
I<00:24:12.205> do<00:24:12.301> it.
00:24:12.623 --> 00:24:13.426
I<00:24:12.703> did<00:24:12.864> it<00:24:12.960> earlier<00:24:13.185> today.
00:24:13.907 --> 00:24:16.172
And<00:24:13.988> you<00:24:14.373> could<00:24:14.470> just<00:24:14.630> tell<00:24:14.743> because<00:24:15.273> this<00:24:15.433> person<00:24:15.658> was<00:24:15.754> stressed<00:24:16.140> out.
00:24:16.220 --> 00:24:19.272
I<00:24:16.252> said,<00:24:16.461> hey,<00:24:16.574> it's<00:24:16.959> a<00:24:17.023> health<00:24:17.264> and<00:24:17.762> wellness<00:24:18.148> check<00:24:18.405> or<00:24:18.549> health<00:24:18.726> and<00:24:18.806> welfare<00:24:19.111> check.
00:24:19.352 --> 00:24:19.850
What's<00:24:19.513> going<00:24:19.689> on?
00:24:20.573 --> 00:24:20.814
Yeah.
00:24:20.878 --> 00:24:21.215
What's<00:24:20.958> going<00:24:21.055> on?
00:24:21.938 --> 00:24:22.179
Yeah.
00:24:22.259 --> 00:24:26.290
And<00:24:22.372> so<00:24:22.500> hard<00:24:22.821> for<00:24:22.982> our<00:24:23.303> leaders<00:24:23.608> to<00:24:23.689> say,<00:24:25.054> have<00:24:25.230> a<00:24:25.295> human<00:24:26.098> help.
00:24:26.355 --> 00:24:27.624
Have<00:24:26.515> a<00:24:26.596> lunch<00:24:27.158> with<00:24:27.318> your<00:24:27.463> team.
00:24:28.844 --> 00:24:32.265
Make<00:24:29.005> sure<00:24:29.310> you<00:24:29.390> invite<00:24:29.744> them<00:24:29.888> in<00:24:30.049> once<00:24:30.290> a<00:24:30.306> month<00:24:30.868> so<00:24:31.012> that<00:24:31.173> you're<00:24:31.318> having<00:24:31.575> conversations.
00:24:32.715 --> 00:24:35.750
Do<00:24:32.924> the<00:24:33.020> kinds<00:24:33.277> of<00:24:33.341> stuff<00:24:33.646> that<00:24:34.305> we<00:24:34.466> as<00:24:34.610> humans<00:24:35.028> like<00:24:35.333> a<00:24:35.413> lot.
00:24:36.393 --> 00:24:37.693
Sometimes<00:24:36.778> it's<00:24:36.938> easier<00:24:37.147> to<00:24:37.195> stay<00:24:37.500> home.
00:24:37.757 --> 00:24:41.657
But<00:24:38.319> once<00:24:38.559> we<00:24:38.720> go<00:24:38.880> to<00:24:38.961> a<00:24:39.041> party,<00:24:39.346> even<00:24:39.586> introverts<00:24:40.068> go<00:24:40.164> to<00:24:40.228> a<00:24:40.244> party,<00:24:40.485> come<00:24:40.598> back,<00:24:40.710> hey,<00:24:40.870> that<00:24:40.967> wasn't<00:24:41.207> so<00:24:41.368> bad.
00:24:42.395 --> 00:24:47.387
And<00:24:43.149> I<00:24:43.278> think<00:24:43.374> that<00:24:43.599> human<00:24:43.920> element<00:24:44.642> helped<00:24:45.043> us<00:24:46.183> through<00:24:46.440> some<00:24:46.680> of<00:24:46.761> the<00:24:46.905> anxiety.
00:24:47.467 --> 00:24:48.735
And<00:24:47.627> we're<00:24:48.285> seeing<00:24:48.654> it.
00:24:49.617 --> 00:24:57.434
And<00:24:49.858> then<00:24:50.019> we<00:24:50.099> have<00:24:50.275> varying<00:24:51.238> sort<00:24:51.463> of<00:24:51.624> things<00:24:51.848> that<00:24:51.961> we<00:24:52.185> try<00:24:52.346> and<00:24:52.458> do<00:24:52.747> from<00:24:53.084> an<00:24:53.229> HR<00:24:53.485> perspective,<00:24:54.994> whether<00:24:55.106> it's<00:24:55.251> like<00:24:55.411> Steptember,<00:24:56.214> hey,<00:24:56.374> get<00:24:56.535> out<00:24:56.695> there<00:24:56.759> and<00:24:56.824> do<00:24:56.936> some<00:24:57.096> walk.
00:24:57.514 --> 00:25:01.751
And<00:24:58.043> you<00:24:58.300> can<00:24:58.461> kind<00:24:58.621> of<00:24:58.701> post<00:24:59.006> things,<00:24:59.408> you<00:24:59.664> can<00:24:59.825> kind<00:24:59.985> of<00:25:00.066> post<00:25:00.371> things,<00:25:00.563> internal<00:25:00.788> fun<00:25:01.029> things<00:25:01.253> that<00:25:01.350> go<00:25:01.574> on.
00:25:01.992 --> 00:25:09.016
But<00:25:02.617> I<00:25:02.697> do<00:25:02.793> feel<00:25:02.954> like<00:25:03.194> that<00:25:03.659> human<00:25:03.980> element,<00:25:04.862> I<00:25:04.958> think<00:25:05.199> as<00:25:06.498> a<00:25:06.546> species,<00:25:07.124> we<00:25:07.284> need<00:25:07.669> to<00:25:07.990> have<00:25:08.166> that<00:25:08.390> interaction.
00:25:09.529 --> 00:25:11.021
And<00:25:09.673> the<00:25:09.754> less<00:25:09.994> you<00:25:10.090> have,<00:25:10.475> the<00:25:10.556> harder<00:25:10.828> it<00:25:10.956> is.
00:25:11.678 --> 00:25:16.794
And<00:25:11.919> you<00:25:12.015> can<00:25:12.191> see<00:25:12.480> it<00:25:12.560> with<00:25:12.881> even<00:25:13.122> kids<00:25:13.378> that<00:25:14.180> during<00:25:14.340> the<00:25:14.421> pandemic<00:25:14.886> when<00:25:14.966> they<00:25:14.998> didn't<00:25:15.206> go<00:25:15.254> to<00:25:15.319> school,<00:25:15.928> how<00:25:16.169> difficult<00:25:16.521> it<00:25:16.586> was.
00:25:17.452 --> 00:25:27.459
So<00:25:18.270> I<00:25:18.286> think<00:25:18.414> it's<00:25:18.991> pushing<00:25:19.232> for<00:25:19.392> some<00:25:19.569> of<00:25:19.633> the—<00:25:20.435> well,<00:25:20.996> maybe<00:25:21.301> we<00:25:21.397> knew<00:25:21.557> a<00:25:21.621> lot<00:25:21.862> before<00:25:22.423> and<00:25:22.760> just<00:25:22.920> go<00:25:23.001> back<00:25:23.241> to<00:25:23.321> some<00:25:23.498> of<00:25:23.562> the<00:25:23.722> things<00:25:23.947> we<00:25:24.043> did<00:25:24.203> before,<00:25:24.845> like<00:25:25.567> have<00:25:25.711> a<00:25:25.791> conversation<00:25:26.352> if<00:25:26.433> you're<00:25:26.593> having<00:25:26.737> an<00:25:26.914> issue<00:25:27.074> with<00:25:27.154> somebody.
00:25:27.972 --> 00:25:28.421
It's<00:25:28.132> hard.
00:25:28.597 --> 00:25:29.463
We'll<00:25:28.709> give<00:25:28.838> you<00:25:28.870> some<00:25:29.094> tools.
00:25:29.960 --> 00:25:31.530
Here's<00:25:30.120> how<00:25:30.200> you<00:25:30.392> start<00:25:30.713> that<00:25:30.921> conversation.
00:25:31.739 --> 00:25:37.878
That's<00:25:31.963> the<00:25:32.059> one<00:25:32.284> thing,<00:25:32.925> the<00:25:33.005> one<00:25:33.181> thing<00:25:33.326> when<00:25:33.422> we<00:25:33.582> talked<00:25:33.822> to<00:25:33.887> our<00:25:33.951> employees,<00:25:34.415> let's<00:25:34.768> give<00:25:34.864> you<00:25:34.944> this,<00:25:35.810> was<00:25:36.451> how<00:25:36.547> do<00:25:36.595> you<00:25:36.708> start<00:25:37.108> that<00:25:37.333> conversation?
00:25:39.336 --> 00:25:42.718
And<00:25:40.394> you<00:25:40.474> know,<00:25:40.699> like<00:25:41.180> if<00:25:41.276> I<00:25:41.356> had<00:25:41.452> a<00:25:41.516> problem<00:25:41.837> with<00:25:41.981> you,<00:25:42.318> like<00:25:42.478> would<00:25:42.622> I?
00:25:43.263 --> 00:25:44.818
And,<00:25:43.584> um,<00:25:44.177> so<00:25:44.257> we<00:25:44.321> had<00:25:44.417> this<00:25:44.626> little<00:25:44.738> tool.
00:25:44.882 --> 00:25:48.889
It's<00:25:45.155> like,<00:25:45.347> you<00:25:45.443> know,<00:25:45.539> I'm<00:25:45.684> just<00:25:45.844> seeking<00:25:46.164> to<00:25:46.325> understand,<00:25:47.431> here's<00:25:48.072> the<00:25:48.152> kind<00:25:48.264> of<00:25:48.392> email<00:25:48.633> I<00:25:48.649> got.
00:25:49.114 --> 00:25:49.691
What,<00:25:49.290> what<00:25:49.402> does<00:25:49.450> that<00:25:49.546> mean?
00:25:51.053 --> 00:25:52.672
And<00:25:51.133> just<00:25:51.518> that<00:25:51.855> little<00:25:52.095> thing,<00:25:52.480> right?
00:25:52.736 --> 00:25:53.586
Look<00:25:52.961> for<00:25:53.041> some<00:25:53.233> of<00:25:53.297> those<00:25:53.489> things.
00:25:53.634 --> 00:26:02.070
So<00:25:53.842> anyway,<00:25:54.339> I<00:25:54.355> always<00:25:54.644> think<00:25:54.804> that<00:25:54.964> there's<00:25:55.124> sometimes<00:25:55.959> Start<00:25:56.185> with<00:25:56.249> the<00:25:56.330> simple<00:25:56.652> things<00:25:56.894> that<00:25:57.297> kind<00:25:57.394> of<00:25:57.459> help<00:25:57.700> out<00:25:57.878> and,<00:25:58.603> you<00:25:58.668> know,<00:25:59.248> engaging<00:25:59.796> in<00:26:00.071> some<00:26:00.296> tools<00:26:00.538> that<00:26:00.780> people<00:26:01.022> could<00:26:01.167> use<00:26:01.344> were<00:26:01.586> really<00:26:01.812> helpful.
00:26:03.670 --> 00:26:07.790
Finally,<00:26:03.863> at<00:26:03.943> CEO.com,<00:26:04.651> we<00:26:04.748> believe<00:26:04.973> the<00:26:05.070> chances<00:26:05.456> one<00:26:05.714> gives<00:26:06.132> is<00:26:06.197> just<00:26:06.374> as<00:26:06.438> important<00:26:06.744> as<00:26:06.825> the<00:26:06.905> chances<00:26:07.243> one<00:26:07.404> takes.
00:26:08.692 --> 00:26:11.831
When<00:26:08.917> you<00:26:09.159> hear<00:26:09.352> that,<00:26:09.980> who<00:26:10.141> gave<00:26:10.366> you<00:26:10.479> a<00:26:10.543> chance<00:26:10.849> to<00:26:10.881> get<00:26:11.026> you<00:26:11.122> to<00:26:11.203> where<00:26:11.412> you<00:26:11.509> are<00:26:11.670> today?
00:26:13.842 --> 00:26:14.538
Oh,<00:26:14.166> God.
00:26:14.748 --> 00:26:19.476
You<00:26:14.829> know,<00:26:15.461> I<00:26:15.606> would<00:26:15.704> say<00:26:16.982> my<00:26:18.941> Ken<00:26:19.184> Klein.
00:26:20.026 --> 00:26:22.309
So<00:26:20.155> he<00:26:20.301> was<00:26:20.398> my<00:26:20.560> boss<00:26:21.030> at<00:26:21.936> two<00:26:22.082> companies.
00:26:23.217 --> 00:26:27.468
And<00:26:23.618> he<00:26:25.094> hired<00:26:26.040> me<00:26:26.281> to<00:26:26.441> go<00:26:26.682> work<00:26:26.922> at<00:26:27.067> Wind<00:26:27.243> River.
00:26:27.548 --> 00:26:30.516
And<00:26:28.527> I<00:26:28.671> told<00:26:28.847> him,<00:26:28.928> I<00:26:29.008> said,<00:26:29.232> hey,<00:26:29.393> I<00:26:29.409> want<00:26:29.617> to<00:26:29.649> be<00:26:29.874> a<00:26:29.906> CEO.
00:26:31.057 --> 00:26:31.895
And<00:26:31.077> he<00:26:31.173> said,<00:26:31.334> okay,<00:26:31.558> great.
00:26:32.040 --> 00:26:35.665
Well,<00:26:32.601> here<00:26:32.713> are<00:26:32.794> some<00:26:33.018> things<00:26:33.259> you<00:26:33.339> need<00:26:33.499> to<00:26:33.580> go<00:26:33.740> do,<00:26:34.606> and<00:26:35.007> you<00:26:35.071> have<00:26:35.184> talent.
00:26:36.210 --> 00:26:36.756
Here's<00:26:36.371> what<00:26:36.451> I<00:26:36.483> need.
00:26:36.852 --> 00:26:47.183
Hey,<00:26:37.029> you<00:26:37.109> need—<00:26:37.574> I<00:26:37.670> come<00:26:37.895> from<00:26:38.055> a<00:26:38.071> liberal<00:26:38.312> arts<00:26:39.034> background,<00:26:39.499> so<00:26:39.595> I<00:26:39.756> think<00:26:39.868> I'm<00:26:39.996> the<00:26:40.157> only—<00:26:40.638> I<00:26:40.670> don't<00:26:40.798> even<00:26:41.039> want<00:26:41.167> to<00:26:41.199> admit<00:26:41.440> that,<00:26:41.665> but<00:26:41.761> I<00:26:41.857> think<00:26:42.017> I'm<00:26:42.146> the<00:26:42.386> only<00:26:42.723> person<00:26:43.028> I<00:26:43.060> know<00:26:43.365> that<00:26:43.910> had<00:26:44.007> a<00:26:44.023> liberal<00:26:44.311> arts<00:26:44.552> background<00:26:45.049> and<00:26:45.787> was<00:26:45.948> running<00:26:46.156> a<00:26:46.188> cybersecurity<00:26:46.878> company.
00:26:48.001 --> 00:26:55.644
But<00:26:48.113> he<00:26:48.177> said,<00:26:48.402> hey,<00:26:49.846> I<00:26:49.862> need<00:26:50.006> you<00:26:50.087> to<00:26:50.167> go<00:26:50.344> take<00:26:50.649> a<00:26:51.308> week-long<00:26:51.789> class,<00:26:52.336> which<00:26:52.512> is,<00:26:53.155> you<00:26:53.187> know,<00:26:53.315> finance<00:26:53.781> for<00:26:53.861> non-financial<00:26:55.082> executives.
00:26:55.709 --> 00:26:56.255
And<00:26:55.789> I<00:26:55.869> did<00:26:55.982> that.
00:26:57.154 --> 00:27:03.338
Um,<00:26:57.556> and,<00:26:58.520> um,<00:26:59.178> I<00:26:59.210> did<00:26:59.355> that,<00:26:59.660> uh,<00:26:59.885> Columbia<00:27:00.302> University<00:27:01.571> and<00:27:02.615> he<00:27:02.728> invested<00:27:03.129> in<00:27:03.194> me.
00:27:03.740 --> 00:27:06.535
He<00:27:03.836> had,<00:27:04.382> uh,<00:27:04.479> he<00:27:04.704> said,<00:27:04.864> hey,<00:27:05.025> you<00:27:05.105> don't<00:27:05.201> know<00:27:05.346> what's<00:27:05.475> stamped<00:27:05.764> on<00:27:05.844> your<00:27:05.940> own<00:27:06.085> forehead.
00:27:06.792 --> 00:27:07.932
You<00:27:06.824> know,<00:27:07.113> here's<00:27:07.290> what<00:27:07.434> you<00:27:07.530> should<00:27:07.755> do.
00:27:08.012 --> 00:27:09.699
And,<00:27:08.253> you<00:27:08.334> know,<00:27:08.398> I<00:27:08.639> think<00:27:08.815> you<00:27:08.896> should<00:27:09.056> be<00:27:09.201> a<00:27:09.233> CEO.
00:27:09.795 --> 00:27:13.361
So<00:27:10.663> I<00:27:10.679> would<00:27:10.759> say<00:27:10.968> Ken<00:27:11.145> gave<00:27:11.305> me<00:27:11.385> that<00:27:11.546> chance<00:27:12.028> and,<00:27:12.333> um,<00:27:12.654> you<00:27:12.686> know,<00:27:12.735> I'll<00:27:12.831> never<00:27:13.056> forget<00:27:13.313> it.
00:27:14.598 --> 00:27:15.979
Barry,<00:27:14.839> thank<00:27:15.016> you<00:27:15.080> so<00:27:15.176> much<00:27:15.401> for<00:27:15.481> coming<00:27:15.787> on.
00:27:16.044 --> 00:27:17.682
Best<00:27:16.172> of<00:27:16.349> luck<00:27:16.525> in<00:27:16.590> everything<00:27:16.847> you're<00:27:16.991> doing<00:27:17.184> in<00:27:17.248> the<00:27:17.329> new<00:27:17.553> year.
00:27:18.295 --> 00:27:21.923
It's<00:27:18.392> super<00:27:18.767> exciting<00:27:19.515> and<00:27:19.678> it's<00:27:19.857> very<00:27:20.019> important<00:27:20.654> what<00:27:20.719> you're<00:27:20.898> doing,<00:27:21.223> so<00:27:21.402> thank<00:27:21.549> you<00:27:21.630> very<00:27:21.777> much.
00:27:22.753 --> 00:27:23.078
You're<00:27:22.818> welcome.
00:27:23.241 --> 00:27:23.762
Thanks<00:27:23.339> for<00:27:23.420> having<00:27:23.664> me.

Yeah,<00:27:45.208> keep<00:27:45.436> our<00:27:45.599> heads<00:27:45.843> up<00:27:46.087> high,<00:27:46.429> pushing<00:27:46.983> on<00:27:47.732> like<00:27:48.041> a<00:27:48.204> chugging<00:27:48.806> train.
00:27:51.570 --> 00:27:53.906
Loving<00:27:51.837> you<00:27:52.187> makes<00:27:52.354> the<00:27:52.521> world<00:27:52.938> spin<00:27:53.355> faster.
00:27:56.610 --> 00:27:59.972
Yeah,<00:27:56.868> ain't<00:27:57.208> enough<00:27:57.531> days<00:27:58.000> in<00:27:58.081> the<00:27:58.259> week<00:27:58.663> for<00:27:59.229> us<00:27:59.536> to<00:27:59.633> kiss.
