Underpromise and over-deliver
In 2018, David Chung sold his stake in Englewood Lab, the New Jersey contract manufacturer he had built from one chemist and one kettle. Cosmecca Korea paid $57 million for a majority position; Chung has put his own proceeds at $53.7 million. Three years later he sold Farmacy Beauty to Procter & Gamble. He was in his sixties. By his own account, he had more money than he could spend.
He opened another manufacturer instead. Then he bought a supplement company in Utah that was carrying debt.
The manufacturer is iLabs, headquartered in a 140,000-square-foot facility in Mahwah, New Jersey, with chemists in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and China. It makes skin care, hair care, body care, and fragrance for other people's brands, and it is FDA-certified for over-the-counter categories such as sunscreen and acne treatment, which Chung said on the CEO.com Podcast make up a large share of the business.
"I guess I could kind of retire at that point, but I think for me it's not about the money," Chung said of the Farmacy sale. "It's more about the excitement of building something. Every time I build a company, I guess you could compare it to when somebody hikes the top of the mountain, that feeling of achievement. It keeps me hungry all the time."
Chung came to New York from Korea as a boy. His mother had arrived in 1963 with less than $100 and opened a gift shop that grew into a cosmetics business. LEADERS magazine describes Judith Ehm Chung as a Korean immigrant who helped establish Koreatown in New York City; her son named a foundation after her that funds education, social services, and healthcare for Korean American and Asian American communities. He bought a video rental store next to his college at 23 and expanded it into gifts and cosmetics. Other than working for his mother, he has never had a job.
The pattern since has been consistent. Retail first, then the prestige skincare line 3LAB in 2003, then Englewood Lab, which grew to serve more than 100 brands and went public in Korea. Then Farmacy in 2015, exclusive to Sephora in North America, built on a farm-to-face pitch. Industry sources put its net sales near $80 million the year P&G bought it. Neither side disclosed terms. Chung's explanation of the sale, given at the time, was a limit rather than a victory lap. He said he is good at taking a brand from zero to $100 million and not as good after that.
Asked what accounts for any of it, he did not reach for strategy.
"It's not complicated," Chung said. "I think it's about building a reputation for yourself and your business style, such as underpromise and over-deliver to your customers, as well as people around you. If you keep doing that, then everything just comes naturally. Things just come together, and people give you a business."
The episode was recorded on the day the White House announced tariffs on Mexico and Canada, with additional duties on Chinese goods a week behind. Chung estimated that 70 to 90 percent of the beauty industry's packaging, the bottles and jars and caps, comes from China, luxury brands included. Duties stacking toward 35 or 40 percent would change the arithmetic for every brand on the shelf. His hedge is the Korean plant, where clients can move production and bring finished goods in at far lower rates. He did not present that as a solution for anyone else.
"Overall, it's going to be not good news for the average consumers," he said.
He was blunter about what the uncertainty does to planning. "You could have a great business, and next thing you know, oh my God, now this business is a disaster." A large share of iLabs output goes to Canada. If Canada were to match US duties on American goods, he said, that business is done.
On AI he offered a forecast against his own interest. A production line that runs today with 20 people will run with two. And formulation itself, the recipe work his senior chemists do, will move to machines trained on ingredient data.
"I think in the future, AI will take that over, and you'll only have more technical lab persons rather than high-level formulators anymore," Chung said. "It's not there yet, but I just see it's just a matter of time."
Most of iLabs cannot work from home. Lab work and production require bodies in a building, which leaves Chung competing for scientists against companies that will let them work anywhere. His answer wasn't a policy. "You become successful because of the people," he said. "You need to treat those talented people, which is hard to come by as we know, and make sure that you are engaged and really listen to them."
Since the episode was recorded, Chung has taken on the hardest project of his career. He acquired Amare Global, a supplement company that sells through a network of independent brand partners, in December 2023 and announced it that January. He hired Asma Ishaq to run it in June 2024. In July 2025, he replaced her as chief executive of the Lehi, Utah company and now runs a business he owns outright.
The model he bought into has been contracting around him. Ishaq had run Modere, the Utah wellness company that shut down abruptly in April 2025, giving employees three hours to clear out; she went to Shaklee days after leaving Amare. Chung has been candid about what he bought. He told Forbes he was not looking to acquire another company, that Amare had come with "financial setbacks from past mismanagement and an unsuccessful acquisition," and that within months he had paid off debt and restructured operations.
He intends to remake direct selling around transparency and science-backed products. The people carrying that bet are the brand partners, whose income depends on whether he is right. His track record is in manufacturing and brand building. A turnaround in this particular model is a different test, and it is not finished.
He does not read much anymore, he said, because he is working too much. He returns to Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People, and recently picked up Influencer: The New Science of Leading Change.
Every episode of the CEO.com Podcast ends with the same question, built on the belief that the chances one gives are just as important as the chances one takes. Chung named a long list of people. He started with the one who brought him here.
"It starts with my mother, who gave me an opportunity to be in this beautiful country where I could do anything I want to do," he said. "It's a country of opportunity. I'm always appreciative, and hopefully I'll do the same thing to the younger generation who wants to be successful, as long as they have their hungry mind."

00:00:12.535 --> 00:00:14.218
David,<00:00:12.856> thank<00:00:13.000> you<00:00:13.096> so<00:00:13.192> much<00:00:13.337> for<00:00:13.481> coming<00:00:13.721> on<00:00:13.801> the<00:00:13.882> show.
00:00:14.523 --> 00:00:15.933
It<00:00:14.763> means<00:00:15.020> a<00:00:15.036> lot<00:00:15.180> to<00:00:15.260> have<00:00:15.404> you<00:00:15.565> on<00:00:15.805> here.
00:00:16.703 --> 00:00:20.759
Tell<00:00:16.943> us<00:00:17.184> about<00:00:17.729> yourself,<00:00:18.322> your<00:00:18.466> company,<00:00:19.252> and<00:00:19.733> what<00:00:20.214> iLabs<00:00:20.470> does.
00:00:21.512 --> 00:00:39.905
Well,<00:00:21.672> basically,<00:00:23.179> uh,<00:00:23.500> iLabs<00:00:23.836> is<00:00:24.157> a,<00:00:24.397> uh,<00:00:25.199> contract<00:00:25.680> manufacturing<00:00:26.481> company<00:00:26.946> that<00:00:27.123> really<00:00:27.427> focus<00:00:27.988> on<00:00:28.629> research<00:00:28.966> and<00:00:29.046> development<00:00:30.152> and<00:00:30.329> bring<00:00:30.489> innovations<00:00:31.531> to<00:00:32.477> beauty<00:00:32.718> industry,<00:00:34.162> uh,<00:00:34.418> mainly<00:00:35.140> like<00:00:35.317> skincare,<00:00:36.263> haircare,<00:00:36.825> body<00:00:37.146> care,<00:00:37.547> and<00:00:38.509> fragrance<00:00:39.135> and<00:00:39.392> so<00:00:39.777> on.
00:00:40.034 --> 00:00:47.141
And<00:00:41.076> mainly<00:00:41.381> we<00:00:41.558> focus<00:00:42.119> a<00:00:42.183> lot<00:00:42.504> on,<00:00:43.162> uh,<00:00:43.643> OTC<00:00:44.349> products<00:00:44.927> such<00:00:45.232> as<00:00:45.328> sunscreens,<00:00:46.595> uh,<00:00:46.836> acne.
00:00:47.398 --> 00:00:51.793
That<00:00:47.638> area<00:00:47.879> is<00:00:48.055> a<00:00:48.136> big<00:00:48.360> chunk<00:00:48.761> of<00:00:48.922> our<00:00:49.098> business,<00:00:50.141> bring<00:00:50.301> innovation<00:00:50.863> to<00:00:51.023> the<00:00:51.120> market.
00:00:52.692 --> 00:01:00.218
And<00:00:52.933> basically<00:00:53.189> we<00:00:53.350> are<00:00:53.430> based<00:00:53.751> in,<00:00:54.056> uh,<00:00:54.553> Mawa,<00:00:54.810> New<00:00:54.954> Jersey<00:00:55.499> here,<00:00:56.863> uh,<00:00:57.264> and<00:00:57.842> This<00:00:57.906> is<00:00:58.083> what<00:00:58.227> we<00:00:58.388> do<00:00:58.564> for<00:00:58.725> last,<00:00:59.207> I<00:00:59.271> guess,<00:00:59.753> 5<00:00:59.993> years.
00:01:00.636 --> 00:01:02.836
And<00:01:00.877> OTC<00:01:01.214> is<00:01:01.679> over-the-counter,<00:01:02.274> I'm<00:01:02.482> assuming.
00:01:02.900 --> 00:01:03.719
I'm<00:01:03.044> just—<00:01:03.542> Okay.
00:01:03.783 --> 00:01:05.116
Right,<00:01:04.650> exactly.
00:01:05.533 --> 00:01:05.629
Yeah.
00:01:05.710 --> 00:01:11.089
They<00:01:05.870> call<00:01:06.127> it,<00:01:06.256> consider<00:01:06.914> like<00:01:07.074> sunscreens<00:01:08.022> and<00:01:08.664> acne<00:01:09.226> areas<00:01:09.708> are<00:01:10.029> controlled<00:01:10.366> by<00:01:10.527> FDA.
00:01:11.570 --> 00:01:13.866
So<00:01:11.795> we<00:01:11.956> call<00:01:12.116> that<00:01:12.357> OTC<00:01:13.561> areas.
00:01:14.364 --> 00:01:14.621
Okay.
00:01:14.782 --> 00:01:15.761
Yeah,<00:01:15.183> that<00:01:15.328> makes<00:01:15.504> sense.
00:01:16.243 --> 00:01:22.906
So,<00:01:16.773> um,<00:01:17.672> how<00:01:17.832> long<00:01:17.993> have<00:01:18.137> you<00:01:18.298> been<00:01:18.940> doing,<00:01:19.197> what<00:01:19.342> were<00:01:19.406> you<00:01:19.518> doing<00:01:19.679> prior<00:01:19.920> to<00:01:20.064> this<00:01:20.385> and<00:01:20.562> how<00:01:20.787> long,<00:01:21.124> what,<00:01:21.525> what<00:01:21.670> made<00:01:21.847> you<00:01:21.927> get<00:01:22.007> into<00:01:22.168> the<00:01:22.248> beauty<00:01:22.553> industry?
00:01:24.175 --> 00:01:24.528
Oh<00:01:24.335> wow.
00:01:25.234 --> 00:01:33.375
So<00:01:25.523> Clint,<00:01:26.005> I've<00:01:26.262> been<00:01:26.824> self-employed,<00:01:28.173> I<00:01:28.253> guess,<00:01:28.992> forever<00:01:29.409> since<00:01:29.714> I<00:01:29.955> got<00:01:30.180> out<00:01:30.276> of<00:01:30.340> the<00:01:30.501> college,<00:01:31.641> I<00:01:31.721> guess<00:01:32.122> since<00:01:32.588> 23<00:01:33.086> years<00:01:33.311> old.
00:01:34.595 --> 00:01:40.889
I'm<00:01:35.013> pretty<00:01:35.237> old<00:01:35.398> now,<00:01:35.735> but<00:01:36.136> I've<00:01:36.538> been<00:01:36.875> doing<00:01:37.084> this<00:01:37.244> for<00:01:37.325> a<00:01:37.405> long<00:01:37.662> time<00:01:38.288> and<00:01:38.946> been<00:01:39.107> in<00:01:39.187> the<00:01:39.348> beauty<00:01:39.572> industry<00:01:40.391> quite<00:01:40.568> a<00:01:40.632> bit.
00:01:41.836 --> 00:01:48.901
Before<00:01:42.703> iLabs,<00:01:43.105> I<00:01:43.265> also<00:01:43.522> had<00:01:43.747> another<00:01:44.309> contract<00:01:44.807> manufacturing<00:01:45.770> company,<00:01:46.332> very<00:01:46.573> similar,<00:01:47.536> called<00:01:48.018> Ingo<00:01:48.500> Lab.
00:01:49.478 --> 00:01:51.353
Same<00:01:49.863> in<00:01:50.424> Englewood,<00:01:50.808> New<00:01:50.904> Jersey.
00:01:52.250 --> 00:02:04.813
And,<00:01:53.132> you<00:01:53.164> know,<00:01:53.468> I<00:01:53.612> built<00:01:53.788> that<00:01:54.013> company<00:01:54.734> from<00:01:56.016> blank<00:01:56.256> sheet<00:01:56.432> of<00:01:56.577> paper<00:01:57.378> and<00:01:57.634> took<00:01:57.810> the<00:01:57.955> company<00:01:59.477> IPO<00:02:00.999> in<00:02:01.079> Korea<00:02:02.041> and<00:02:02.201> exited<00:02:03.162> back<00:02:03.419> in<00:02:03.867> 2018.
00:02:05.710 --> 00:02:06.960
That<00:02:05.886> is<00:02:06.046> incredible.
00:02:08.033 --> 00:02:08.498
Well<00:02:08.274> done.
00:02:08.690 --> 00:02:10.068
Congratulations<00:02:09.556> on<00:02:09.652> that.
00:02:10.197 --> 00:02:10.886
That's<00:02:10.437> very<00:02:10.693> cool.
00:02:11.494 --> 00:02:14.235
So<00:02:12.376> tell<00:02:12.536> me<00:02:12.696> about<00:02:13.001> like<00:02:13.193> supply<00:02:13.722> chain<00:02:13.978> issues.
00:02:14.299 --> 00:02:25.434
And<00:02:14.379> obviously<00:02:14.843> we're<00:02:14.940> talking<00:02:15.324> on<00:02:15.420> a<00:02:15.500> day<00:02:16.528> I<00:02:16.544> don't<00:02:16.689> know<00:02:16.786> when<00:02:16.931> this<00:02:17.108> will<00:02:17.334> air,<00:02:17.431> but<00:02:17.593> we're<00:02:17.738> talking<00:02:18.060> on<00:02:18.141> a<00:02:18.222> day<00:02:18.480> where<00:02:19.513> the<00:02:19.609> president<00:02:19.819> of<00:02:19.851> the<00:02:19.916> United<00:02:20.239> States,<00:02:20.497> Donald<00:02:20.723> Trump,<00:02:21.029> has<00:02:23.401> imposed<00:02:23.885> tariffs<00:02:24.353> on<00:02:24.450> Mexico<00:02:25.079> and<00:02:25.160> Canada.
00:02:25.482 --> 00:02:35.067
We're<00:02:25.660> actually<00:02:25.870> talking<00:02:26.771> an<00:02:26.949> hour<00:02:27.335> after<00:02:27.609> Mexico—<00:02:28.302> he<00:02:28.559> gave<00:02:28.785> Mexico<00:02:29.284> a<00:02:29.526> 30-day<00:02:32.328> leave<00:02:32.731> on<00:02:32.908> that,<00:02:33.391> and<00:02:33.553> they're<00:02:33.778> going<00:02:33.875> to<00:02:33.907> try<00:02:34.036> to<00:02:34.116> work<00:02:34.342> out<00:02:34.438> some<00:02:34.583> sort<00:02:34.761> of<00:02:34.954> deal.
00:02:35.485 --> 00:02:36.821
The<00:02:35.630> Canada<00:02:36.032> one<00:02:36.210> is<00:02:36.242> still<00:02:36.515> happening.
00:02:37.079 --> 00:02:38.560
How<00:02:37.497> are<00:02:37.642> you<00:02:37.739> thinking<00:02:38.061> about<00:02:38.222> tariffs?
00:02:38.624 --> 00:02:39.703
How<00:02:38.689> are<00:02:38.850> you<00:02:38.946> preparing<00:02:39.413> for<00:02:39.494> that?
00:02:40.089 --> 00:02:44.597
I'm<00:02:40.218> sure<00:02:40.379> that's<00:02:40.556> a<00:02:40.637> big<00:02:40.878> part<00:02:41.345> of<00:02:42.488> your<00:02:43.051> business,<00:02:43.454> this<00:02:43.599> whole<00:02:43.695> supply<00:02:44.082> chain<00:02:44.323> thing,<00:02:44.484> right?
00:02:45.789 --> 00:03:02.264
Yes,<00:02:46.110> you<00:02:46.142> know,<00:02:46.913> uh,<00:02:47.330> in<00:02:47.475> our<00:02:47.651> beauty<00:02:47.892> industry,<00:02:49.350> I<00:02:49.370> don't<00:02:49.578> know<00:02:49.643> the<00:02:49.739> exact<00:02:50.205> percentage,<00:02:51.088> but<00:02:51.264> I<00:02:51.489> would<00:02:51.586> say,<00:02:52.372> I<00:02:52.389> don't<00:02:52.533> know,<00:02:52.694> maybe<00:02:52.886> 70<00:02:53.432> to<00:02:53.577> 90%<00:02:55.199> of<00:02:55.343> our<00:02:56.387> packaging<00:02:57.110> materials,<00:02:58.474> like<00:02:58.651> the<00:02:58.812> bottles,<00:02:59.374> the<00:02:59.518> jars,<00:02:59.936> the<00:03:00.096> caps,<00:03:01.220> comes<00:03:01.525> from<00:03:01.847> China.
00:03:02.890 --> 00:03:08.832
A<00:03:02.971> big<00:03:03.147> chunk<00:03:04.031> in<00:03:04.127> our<00:03:04.207> industry,<00:03:04.657> whether<00:03:04.817> it's<00:03:05.042> a<00:03:05.155> luxury<00:03:05.556> skincare<00:03:06.343> brand,<00:03:07.627> uh,<00:03:07.740> it<00:03:07.788> doesn't<00:03:08.061> really<00:03:08.366> matter.
00:03:08.928 --> 00:03:10.454
It's<00:03:09.185> a<00:03:09.314> lot<00:03:09.554> come<00:03:09.795> from<00:03:10.036> China.
00:03:10.678 --> 00:03:20.238
And<00:03:10.839> when<00:03:11.080> Trump<00:03:11.642> first<00:03:11.963> round,<00:03:12.525> he<00:03:12.702> increased<00:03:13.264> to<00:03:13.489> 20-25%<00:03:14.709> duty<00:03:15.820> Now,<00:03:16.658> we<00:03:16.739> just<00:03:16.964> got<00:03:17.126> announced,<00:03:17.529> I<00:03:17.545> guess<00:03:17.851> last<00:03:18.351> week,<00:03:18.900> he's<00:03:19.077> going<00:03:19.254> to<00:03:19.287> increase<00:03:19.448> another<00:03:19.883> 10%.
00:03:21.335 --> 00:03:26.573
So<00:03:21.480> now,<00:03:23.141> China<00:03:23.400> will<00:03:23.562> be<00:03:24.047> not<00:03:24.209> competitive<00:03:24.711> anymore,<00:03:25.181> even<00:03:25.424> though<00:03:25.569> they<00:03:25.667> have<00:03:25.893> low<00:03:26.136> wage.
00:03:27.108 --> 00:03:39.367
Now<00:03:27.367> at<00:03:27.836> 35%,<00:03:28.500> 40%<00:03:29.051> of<00:03:29.213> duty<00:03:29.796> coming<00:03:30.200> into<00:03:30.524> the<00:03:30.751> country<00:03:31.236> of<00:03:31.397> this<00:03:31.638> packaging<00:03:32.216> material<00:03:32.698> is<00:03:32.939> going<00:03:33.020> to<00:03:33.100> be<00:03:33.325> really<00:03:35.816> big<00:03:35.993> deal<00:03:36.459> for<00:03:36.860> especially<00:03:37.921> manufacturers<00:03:38.709> in<00:03:38.885> China.
00:03:39.544 --> 00:03:40.441
It's<00:03:39.721> going<00:03:39.914> to<00:03:40.010> hurt<00:03:40.235> a<00:03:40.300> lot.
00:03:40.953 --> 00:03:49.266
And<00:03:41.059> then<00:03:41.762> For<00:03:41.986> us,<00:03:43.189> uh,<00:03:43.686> it's<00:03:43.846> gonna,<00:03:44.391> you<00:03:44.423> know,<00:03:44.648> our<00:03:44.808> cost<00:03:45.273> of<00:03:45.450> goods<00:03:45.594> is<00:03:45.754> going<00:03:45.866> to<00:03:45.995> go<00:03:46.075> up<00:03:46.251> dramatically<00:03:47.053> as<00:03:47.277> well<00:03:47.694> unless<00:03:47.999> we<00:03:48.175> move<00:03:48.352> to<00:03:48.432> another<00:03:48.817> country.
00:03:50.035 --> 00:03:50.837
So<00:03:50.180> how<00:03:50.260> do<00:03:50.340> you<00:03:50.484> feel<00:03:50.661> about<00:03:50.805> it?
00:03:50.885 --> 00:03:51.879
You<00:03:51.045> think<00:03:51.158> it's<00:03:51.302> good,<00:03:51.687> bad?
00:03:51.959 --> 00:03:53.114
It<00:03:52.023> sounds<00:03:52.328> like<00:03:52.440> you<00:03:52.569> think<00:03:52.745> it's<00:03:52.825> bad.
00:03:53.947 --> 00:03:57.379
Well,<00:03:54.124> I<00:03:54.332> think,<00:03:54.653> uh,<00:03:54.990> there's<00:03:55.455> always<00:03:55.711> a<00:03:55.775> silver<00:03:56.112> lining,<00:03:56.753> right,<00:03:57.138> in<00:03:57.234> this.
00:03:57.619 --> 00:04:02.349
Um,<00:03:59.399> for<00:03:59.559> the<00:03:59.720> consumer,<00:04:00.586> obviously<00:04:00.938> the,<00:04:01.307> the<00:04:01.403> price<00:04:01.788> will<00:04:01.964> go<00:04:02.109> up.
00:04:02.445 --> 00:04:04.979
It'll<00:04:02.606> be<00:04:02.670> an<00:04:03.071> increase<00:04:03.792> now<00:04:04.033> in<00:04:04.209> inflation.
00:04:05.316 --> 00:04:18.026
And<00:04:05.492> so,<00:04:06.919> but<00:04:07.095> now<00:04:07.656> the<00:04:07.801> business<00:04:08.218> people<00:04:08.474> needs<00:04:08.779> to<00:04:09.003> figure<00:04:09.324> out<00:04:10.929> how<00:04:11.105> to<00:04:11.250> go<00:04:11.346> about<00:04:12.390> finding<00:04:13.016> other<00:04:13.337> ways<00:04:13.739> of<00:04:13.995> getting<00:04:14.301> these<00:04:14.557> products,<00:04:15.280> the<00:04:15.425> packaging<00:04:15.826> materials<00:04:16.565> that's<00:04:16.870> outside<00:04:17.351> of<00:04:17.528> China.
00:04:19.037 --> 00:04:52.495
And<00:04:19.150> so,<00:04:20.161> you<00:04:20.242> know,<00:04:20.418> for<00:04:20.579> i-Labs,<00:04:21.767> for<00:04:21.879> me<00:04:22.425> personally,<00:04:23.613> um,<00:04:24.368> it's<00:04:25.492> a<00:04:25.540> good<00:04:25.781> thing<00:04:25.958> that<00:04:26.199> I<00:04:26.423> also<00:04:26.841> have<00:04:27.403> an<00:04:27.628> exact<00:04:27.949> identical<00:04:28.591> manufacturing<00:04:29.635> facility<00:04:30.277> in<00:04:30.373> South<00:04:30.775> Korea<00:04:32.043> where<00:04:32.220> we<00:04:32.766> are<00:04:34.227> able<00:04:34.468> to<00:04:34.628> produce<00:04:35.832> So<00:04:36.008> that<00:04:36.857> opportunity<00:04:38.219> of<00:04:38.395> my<00:04:38.636> client<00:04:39.917> be<00:04:39.998> able<00:04:40.398> to<00:04:40.542> move<00:04:40.879> those,<00:04:41.343> uh,<00:04:41.600> stuff<00:04:42.144> to<00:04:42.865> our<00:04:43.042> manufacturing<00:04:43.747> in<00:04:43.843> Korea<00:04:44.147> and<00:04:44.323> produce<00:04:44.868> there<00:04:45.829> where<00:04:46.006> they<00:04:46.150> have,<00:04:46.390> uh,<00:04:46.887> um,<00:04:47.271> pretty<00:04:47.432> much,<00:04:47.832> uh,<00:04:48.313> very<00:04:48.489> small<00:04:48.874> duties<00:04:49.434> coming<00:04:49.771> into<00:04:50.011> the<00:04:50.171> country<00:04:50.812> where<00:04:51.693> as<00:04:51.790> a<00:04:51.854> finished<00:04:52.318> good.
00:04:52.575 --> 00:04:59.672
But<00:04:53.600> overall,<00:04:54.561> um,<00:04:55.074> it's<00:04:55.362> going<00:04:55.459> to<00:04:55.619> be,<00:04:55.843> uh,<00:04:56.804> not<00:04:56.917> a<00:04:57.045> good<00:04:57.221> news<00:04:57.525> for<00:04:57.573> the<00:04:57.846> average<00:04:58.166> consumers,<00:04:59.128> obviously.
00:05:00.746 --> 00:05:03.197
Yeah,<00:05:00.890> it'll<00:05:01.146> be,<00:05:01.403> it'll<00:05:01.563> be<00:05:01.707> super<00:05:02.028> interesting<00:05:02.332> to<00:05:02.428> see<00:05:02.588> how<00:05:02.652> it<00:05:02.813> plays<00:05:03.133> out.
00:05:03.245 --> 00:05:08.154
It<00:05:03.325> seems<00:05:03.566> like<00:05:03.710> the<00:05:03.790> Mexico<00:05:04.255> ones<00:05:04.527> are<00:05:05.944> you<00:05:05.976> know,<00:05:06.186> already<00:05:06.524> being<00:05:06.766> worked<00:05:07.073> out<00:05:07.170> and<00:05:07.250> it<00:05:07.315> might<00:05:07.444> not<00:05:07.654> even<00:05:07.815> happen.
00:05:08.202 --> 00:05:09.961
We'll<00:05:08.299> see<00:05:08.460> what<00:05:08.525> happens<00:05:08.864> as<00:05:09.186> this<00:05:09.493> thing<00:05:09.654> goes.
00:05:10.477 --> 00:05:11.945
Really<00:05:10.719> interesting<00:05:11.122> times,<00:05:11.671> right?
00:05:12.155 --> 00:05:15.290

What<00:05:15.892> does<00:05:16.054> a<00:05:16.136> typical<00:05:16.542> day<00:05:16.770> look<00:05:16.949> like<00:05:17.177> for<00:05:17.258> you?

And<00:05:44.725> I<00:05:44.903> also<00:05:45.291> have<00:05:45.550> a<00:05:45.695> company<00:05:46.181> in<00:05:46.278> South<00:05:46.747> Korea<00:05:47.393> where<00:05:48.849> due<00:05:49.027> to<00:05:49.189> time<00:05:49.528> zone,<00:05:49.933> so<00:05:50.013> I'm<00:05:50.224> working<00:05:50.547> at<00:05:50.644> night,<00:05:51.129> which<00:05:51.291> is<00:05:51.372> morning<00:05:51.762> there.

So<00:05:52.899> usually<00:05:53.305> I<00:05:53.403> end<00:05:53.565> the<00:05:53.647> day<00:05:54.621> like<00:05:54.865> 8,<00:05:55.011> 9<00:05:55.271> PM.
00:05:57.530 --> 00:05:57.627
Wow.
00:05:58.376 --> 00:05:59.466
What<00:05:58.536> keeps<00:05:58.793> you<00:05:58.953> motivated?
00:05:59.514 --> 00:06:00.267
Why<00:05:59.674> do<00:05:59.738> you<00:05:59.899> keep<00:06:00.059> going?
00:06:00.315 --> 00:06:01.582
I<00:06:00.331> mean,<00:06:00.492> you've<00:06:00.636> had<00:06:00.812> a<00:06:00.860> lot<00:06:01.037> of<00:06:01.117> success.
00:06:01.742 --> 00:06:04.932
What<00:06:02.143> keeps<00:06:02.383> you<00:06:02.479> motivated<00:06:03.104> and<00:06:03.200> drive<00:06:03.601> to<00:06:03.761> keep<00:06:04.226> working<00:06:04.483> that<00:06:04.627> hard?
00:06:06.230 --> 00:06:13.523
You<00:06:06.326> know,<00:06:06.550> Clint,<00:06:06.791> I<00:06:06.903> always<00:06:07.592> ask<00:06:07.769> that<00:06:07.929> question<00:06:08.314> to<00:06:08.394> myself<00:06:08.955> every<00:06:09.211> day<00:06:09.532> and,<00:06:09.916> oh<00:06:09.948> my<00:06:11.054> God,<00:06:12.080> I<00:06:12.256> don't<00:06:13.282> know.
00:06:13.683 --> 00:06:33.880
Like,<00:06:14.276> especially<00:06:14.885> when<00:06:15.061> I<00:06:15.222> exited<00:06:15.622> my<00:06:15.847> last<00:06:16.248> company,<00:06:17.225> which<00:06:17.466> I<00:06:17.530> had<00:06:17.770> a<00:06:18.027> very<00:06:18.347> good<00:06:18.508> success,<00:06:20.094> a<00:06:20.174> brand<00:06:20.431> called<00:06:20.655> Farmacy<00:06:21.312> Beauty,<00:06:22.515> which<00:06:22.675> I<00:06:22.755> sold<00:06:23.220> to<00:06:24.262> Procter<00:06:24.678> Gamble,<00:06:25.239> P&G,<00:06:25.881> and<00:06:27.470> And<00:06:27.871> I<00:06:27.952> guess<00:06:28.129> I<00:06:28.289> could<00:06:28.514> kind<00:06:28.707> of<00:06:28.755> retire<00:06:29.173> at<00:06:29.333> that<00:06:29.574> point,<00:06:31.422> but<00:06:31.518> it's<00:06:31.824> not,<00:06:32.065> I<00:06:32.225> think<00:06:32.386> for<00:06:32.547> me,<00:06:32.643> it's<00:06:32.788> not<00:06:32.948> about<00:06:33.253> the<00:06:33.334> money,<00:06:33.671> Clint.
00:06:33.992 --> 00:06:37.977
I<00:06:34.073> think<00:06:34.153> it's<00:06:34.394> more<00:06:34.635> about<00:06:35.663> excitement<00:06:36.788> of<00:06:37.029> building<00:06:37.366> something.
00:06:38.234 --> 00:06:48.660
Every<00:06:38.411> time<00:06:38.716> when<00:06:38.876> I<00:06:39.053> build<00:06:39.519> a<00:06:39.615> company,<00:06:41.463> I<00:06:41.479> guess<00:06:41.624> you<00:06:41.768> could<00:06:41.945> compare<00:06:42.427> to<00:06:42.652> when<00:06:42.845> somebody<00:06:43.455> hikes<00:06:43.857> the<00:06:44.034> top<00:06:44.339> of<00:06:44.371> the<00:06:44.483> mountain,<00:06:45.303> that<00:06:45.544> feeling<00:06:46.106> of<00:06:47.102> achievement,<00:06:47.954> I<00:06:47.970> guess,<00:06:48.211> sort<00:06:48.532> of.
00:06:49.512 --> 00:06:56.665
So<00:06:50.444> I<00:06:50.540> think<00:06:50.701> that<00:06:51.022> is<00:06:51.247> really<00:06:51.504> my<00:06:51.890> main,<00:06:54.503> keeps<00:06:54.751> me<00:06:54.916> hungry<00:06:55.345> all<00:06:55.757> the<00:06:55.922> time<00:06:56.170> for<00:06:56.351> that.
00:06:58.460 --> 00:06:58.991
So<00:06:58.495> it's<00:06:58.672> crazy.
00:07:02.612 --> 00:07:08.729
What<00:07:02.757> have<00:07:02.919> you<00:07:03.162> learned<00:07:03.486> about<00:07:04.230> leadership<00:07:05.913> as<00:07:06.010> a<00:07:06.026> CEO<00:07:06.965> and<00:07:07.288> as<00:07:07.402> a<00:07:07.466> CEO<00:07:07.774> of<00:07:07.871> all<00:07:07.968> these<00:07:08.178> various<00:07:08.437> companies?
00:07:09.300 --> 00:07:14.959
What<00:07:09.478> works,<00:07:09.818> what<00:07:09.981> doesn't,<00:07:10.386> and<00:07:10.548> what<00:07:10.645> are<00:07:10.727> some<00:07:11.035> good<00:07:11.197> traits<00:07:12.170> for<00:07:12.494> leaders,<00:07:13.451> particularly<00:07:13.856> for<00:07:13.954> those<00:07:14.181> who<00:07:14.278> are<00:07:14.521> listening<00:07:14.927> now?
00:07:17.160 --> 00:07:27.382
You<00:07:17.194> know,<00:07:17.263> I'm<00:07:17.520> looking<00:07:17.881> back<00:07:20.069> Sometimes<00:07:21.159> people<00:07:21.432> does<00:07:21.737> ask<00:07:22.121> me<00:07:22.458> like,<00:07:22.843> hey<00:07:23.020> David,<00:07:24.784> what<00:07:24.944> made<00:07:25.249> you<00:07:25.425> kind<00:07:25.746> of<00:07:26.468> be<00:07:26.612> where<00:07:26.724> you<00:07:26.868> are<00:07:26.949> today?
00:07:28.376 --> 00:07:33.460
And<00:07:29.739> I<00:07:29.899> usually<00:07:30.621> looking<00:07:30.878> back,<00:07:31.102> I<00:07:31.134> say,<00:07:31.423> Clint,<00:07:32.177> it's<00:07:32.465> not<00:07:32.642> complicated.
00:07:33.588 --> 00:07:45.199
I<00:07:33.684> think<00:07:33.845> it's<00:07:33.989> about<00:07:35.689> building<00:07:36.234> a<00:07:36.330> reputation<00:07:37.517> about<00:07:38.335> you<00:07:38.832> and<00:07:38.976> your<00:07:39.201> business<00:07:39.682> style,<00:07:40.516> like<00:07:41.382> underpromises<00:07:42.729> and<00:07:42.825> overdeliver<00:07:43.868> to<00:07:44.333> your<00:07:44.493> customers.
00:07:45.779 --> 00:07:46.769
People<00:07:46.039> around<00:07:46.525> you.
00:07:47.758 --> 00:07:52.738
And<00:07:47.888> if<00:07:48.131> you<00:07:48.310> keep<00:07:48.796> doing<00:07:49.202> that,<00:07:50.824> then<00:07:50.970> everything<00:07:51.392> just<00:07:51.781> comes<00:07:52.203> naturally.
00:07:53.140 --> 00:07:54.688
Just<00:07:53.220> come,<00:07:53.478> things<00:07:53.656> just<00:07:53.962> come<00:07:54.204> together.
00:07:55.495 --> 00:07:57.479
Uh,<00:07:56.221> and<00:07:56.479> people<00:07:56.737> give<00:07:56.947> you<00:07:57.108> business.
00:07:57.915 --> 00:08:03.933
Um,<00:07:58.835> so<00:07:58.980> that's<00:07:59.302> been<00:07:59.544> my,<00:08:01.134> I<00:08:01.215> guess,<00:08:02.267> my<00:08:02.606> philosophy<00:08:03.318> of<00:08:03.561> business.
00:08:04.515 --> 00:08:06.230
Um,<00:08:05.971> yeah.
00:08:06.456 --> 00:08:06.618
Yeah.
00:08:06.715 --> 00:08:09.724
That,<00:08:06.941> that,<00:08:07.119> that,<00:08:07.443> what<00:08:07.588> about<00:08:07.831> building<00:08:08.252> culture<00:08:08.737> inside<00:08:09.125> of<00:08:09.222> your<00:08:09.384> team?
00:08:09.788 --> 00:08:11.644
How<00:08:09.934> have<00:08:10.096> you<00:08:10.929> worked<00:08:11.178> on<00:08:11.345> that?
00:08:11.761 --> 00:08:12.826
How<00:08:11.861> do<00:08:11.927> you<00:08:12.177> think<00:08:12.344> about<00:08:12.593> hiring?
00:08:13.596 --> 00:08:23.456
And<00:08:13.676> in<00:08:13.757> particular,<00:08:14.174> how<00:08:14.319> have<00:08:14.560> you<00:08:15.138> dealt<00:08:15.459> with<00:08:15.700> this<00:08:15.925> whole<00:08:16.583> work<00:08:16.824> from<00:08:17.049> home<00:08:17.546> versus<00:08:18.028> everybody<00:08:18.430> in<00:08:18.574> office<00:08:19.538> versus<00:08:19.875> hybrid<00:08:20.373> model<00:08:20.838> that<00:08:20.999> we've<00:08:21.224> all<00:08:21.384> gone<00:08:21.641> through<00:08:22.444> post-COVID?
00:08:24.676 --> 00:08:43.143
Well,<00:08:25.816> we<00:08:25.977> do<00:08:26.121> have<00:08:26.362> some<00:08:26.940> people<00:08:27.342> working<00:08:27.888> remote,<00:08:29.172> but<00:08:29.269> because,<00:08:29.975> you<00:08:30.007> know,<00:08:30.714> iLabs<00:08:31.019> is<00:08:31.260> a<00:08:31.758> rich<00:08:32.079> R&D<00:08:32.544> and<00:08:32.641> manufacturing<00:08:33.524> facility,<00:08:35.049> majority<00:08:35.595> of<00:08:35.756> our<00:08:35.836> employees<00:08:36.318> hard<00:08:36.559> to<00:08:36.655> work<00:08:36.880> from<00:08:37.137> home<00:08:37.763> because,<00:08:38.261> you<00:08:38.341> know,<00:08:38.502> you<00:08:38.630> have<00:08:38.823> to<00:08:38.984> be<00:08:39.225> there<00:08:39.626> to<00:08:39.931> do<00:08:41.376> lab<00:08:41.617> work<00:08:42.035> as<00:08:42.179> well<00:08:42.259> as<00:08:42.516> production.
00:08:43.239 --> 00:08:47.441
So<00:08:44.026> I<00:08:44.042> would<00:08:44.123> say<00:08:44.366> majority<00:08:44.851> of<00:08:45.078> our<00:08:45.256> employees<00:08:45.887> are<00:08:46.939> not<00:08:47.117> remote.
00:08:47.991 --> 00:09:04.396
They're<00:08:48.153> in<00:08:48.250> the<00:08:48.315> office<00:08:48.801> usually,<00:08:49.222> but<00:08:50.177> the<00:08:50.274> world<00:08:50.533> has<00:08:50.824> changed<00:08:51.488> because<00:08:51.973> of<00:08:52.071> the<00:08:52.216> remote<00:08:52.766> and<00:08:53.829> how<00:08:54.055> to<00:08:54.232> keep<00:08:54.538> the<00:08:54.699> talent<00:08:56.246> to<00:08:56.407> be<00:08:56.568> in<00:08:56.713> your<00:08:56.874> company<00:08:57.454> because<00:08:58.244> if<00:08:58.405> another<00:08:58.823> company<00:08:59.226> say<00:08:59.452> you<00:08:59.549> could<00:08:59.693> work<00:08:59.935> from<00:09:00.177> remote<00:09:00.741> every<00:09:00.999> day<00:09:01.289> and<00:09:02.195> then<00:09:02.292> you<00:09:02.519> lose<00:09:03.506> a<00:09:03.652> great<00:09:03.911> talent.
00:09:06.792 --> 00:09:16.073
I<00:09:06.971> think<00:09:07.280> only<00:09:07.540> way<00:09:07.866> to<00:09:08.842> really<00:09:09.168> keep<00:09:09.477> your<00:09:09.656> talent<00:09:10.128> and<00:09:10.291> people<00:09:10.893> that<00:09:11.104> I<00:09:11.267> always<00:09:11.674> feel<00:09:11.934> is<00:09:13.990> It's<00:09:14.535> because<00:09:14.920> I<00:09:15.016> believe<00:09:15.256> in<00:09:15.336> about<00:09:15.577> people.
00:09:16.458 --> 00:09:35.258
Everything<00:09:17.243> you<00:09:17.404> become<00:09:17.756> successful<00:09:19.327> because<00:09:19.664> of<00:09:19.808> the<00:09:19.968> people<00:09:21.026> and<00:09:21.170> you<00:09:21.346> need<00:09:21.587> to<00:09:21.747> treat,<00:09:22.549> you<00:09:22.629> know,<00:09:22.949> those<00:09:23.190> talent<00:09:23.654> people,<00:09:24.376> which<00:09:24.488> is<00:09:24.632> hard<00:09:24.889> to<00:09:25.017> come<00:09:25.273> by<00:09:25.498> as<00:09:25.658> we<00:09:25.834> know,<00:09:27.180> and<00:09:28.078> make<00:09:28.222> sure<00:09:28.639> that,<00:09:30.242> you<00:09:30.322> know,<00:09:30.466> you<00:09:30.546> are<00:09:30.642> engaged<00:09:31.989> and<00:09:32.870> really<00:09:33.127> listen<00:09:33.511> to<00:09:33.607> them<00:09:34.233> in<00:09:34.633> a<00:09:34.793> lot<00:09:34.954> of<00:09:35.034> ways.
00:09:36.092 --> 00:09:41.557
How<00:09:36.252> are<00:09:36.396> you<00:09:36.573> thinking<00:09:36.989> about<00:09:37.598> AI<00:09:38.400> and<00:09:38.576> are<00:09:38.736> you<00:09:38.961> using<00:09:39.297> artificial<00:09:39.858> intelligence<00:09:40.660> inside<00:09:40.980> of<00:09:41.060> your<00:09:41.204> company?
00:09:42.007 --> 00:09:45.453
How<00:09:42.103> does<00:09:42.409> it<00:09:42.731> affect<00:09:43.778> a<00:09:43.939> consumer<00:09:44.422> product<00:09:44.745> company<00:09:45.002> like<00:09:45.228> yours?
00:09:47.080 --> 00:09:50.446
Yeah,<00:09:47.370> so,<00:09:47.579> yeah,<00:09:47.966> now<00:09:48.143> a<00:09:48.304> lot<00:09:48.368> of<00:09:48.545> people<00:09:48.868> talk<00:09:49.174> about<00:09:49.415> AI<00:09:49.898> these<00:09:50.092> days.
00:09:50.607 --> 00:09:55.929
You<00:09:50.639> know,<00:09:50.816> it's<00:09:51.010> a<00:09:51.042> very<00:09:51.527> big<00:09:51.932> topic<00:09:53.146> and<00:09:53.291> I'm<00:09:53.469> always<00:09:54.100> fascinated<00:09:54.667> by<00:09:54.845> what<00:09:55.023> is<00:09:55.152> happening<00:09:55.638> today.
00:09:56.867 --> 00:09:57.952
And<00:09:57.013> I<00:09:57.110> am<00:09:57.256> living<00:09:57.418> in<00:09:57.596> this<00:09:57.757> generation.
00:10:01.792 --> 00:10:12.316
AI<00:10:02.131> will<00:10:02.308> affect<00:10:02.921> many<00:10:03.163> different<00:10:04.131> industries,<00:10:04.938> but<00:10:05.115> for<00:10:05.260> my<00:10:05.502> industry<00:10:06.083> as<00:10:06.341> a<00:10:06.389> manufacturing<00:10:07.228> of<00:10:07.373> a<00:10:07.454> beauty<00:10:07.793> industry,<00:10:09.128> I<00:10:09.209> think<00:10:09.450> two<00:10:09.708> things<00:10:11.817> is<00:10:11.962> happening.
00:10:12.429 --> 00:10:25.086
One<00:10:12.687> is<00:10:13.427> at<00:10:13.572> the<00:10:14.200> production<00:10:14.699> section<00:10:15.907> where<00:10:16.390> today,<00:10:16.712> let's<00:10:17.131> say,<00:10:17.582> one<00:10:17.823> line,<00:10:18.081> you<00:10:18.210> have<00:10:18.323> 20<00:10:18.876> people<00:10:19.786> to<00:10:20.583> produce<00:10:21.396> anti-aging<00:10:22.208> cream<00:10:22.956> as<00:10:23.103> it<00:10:23.200> comes<00:10:23.525> out<00:10:23.688> of<00:10:23.867> the<00:10:23.915> assembly<00:10:24.728> line.
00:10:26.247 --> 00:10:34.863
And<00:10:26.650> I<00:10:26.827> think<00:10:26.988> that's<00:10:27.229> going<00:10:27.342> to<00:10:27.455> be<00:10:27.552> dramatically<00:10:28.276> changed<00:10:28.679> to<00:10:28.824> maybe<00:10:29.484> 2<00:10:29.709> people<00:10:31.481> from<00:10:31.722> the<00:10:31.819> 20<00:10:32.141> people<00:10:32.850> now<00:10:33.091> using<00:10:33.510> AI<00:10:33.896> robotic<00:10:34.331> system.
00:10:34.959 --> 00:10:40.922
All<00:10:35.120> this<00:10:35.363> technology<00:10:36.026> has<00:10:36.257> been<00:10:36.670> dramatically<00:10:37.360> improving<00:10:38.691> as<00:10:38.852> we<00:10:38.948> speak<00:10:39.911> in<00:10:39.991> next<00:10:40.232> few<00:10:40.537> years.
00:10:41.756 --> 00:10:49.057
And<00:10:41.853> the,<00:10:41.997> the<00:10:42.157> other<00:10:42.623> interesting<00:10:43.826> areas<00:10:44.805> that's<00:10:45.046> happening<00:10:45.511> is<00:10:46.987> our<00:10:47.196> research<00:10:47.549> and<00:10:47.693> development<00:10:48.496> in<00:10:48.576> the<00:10:48.720> lab.
00:10:49.555 --> 00:10:55.283
So<00:10:49.699> today<00:10:50.806> we<00:10:50.903> formulate<00:10:51.545> the<00:10:51.689> creams,<00:10:52.186> lotions,<00:10:52.828> whether<00:10:53.005> it's<00:10:53.213> anti-aging,<00:10:54.112> whatever<00:10:54.417> the<00:10:54.513> product<00:10:55.059> is.
00:10:56.599 --> 00:11:03.900
Our<00:10:56.696> scientists,<00:10:58.027> chemists<00:10:59.231> who<00:10:59.263> does<00:10:59.488> the<00:10:59.568> formulations<00:11:01.558> are<00:11:01.590> the<00:11:01.734> ones<00:11:02.039> who<00:11:02.119> creating<00:11:02.376> the<00:11:02.520> recipe<00:11:03.002> of<00:11:03.162> this<00:11:03.403> product.
00:11:04.639 --> 00:11:05.314
Is<00:11:04.848> changing.
00:11:05.828 --> 00:11:31.098
And<00:11:05.972> I<00:11:06.133> think<00:11:06.551> in<00:11:06.695> the<00:11:06.792> future,<00:11:07.900> AI<00:11:08.382> will<00:11:08.559> take<00:11:08.864> that<00:11:09.041> over<00:11:10.005> and<00:11:10.149> you<00:11:10.230> will<00:11:10.487> only<00:11:10.712> have<00:11:11.772> more<00:11:11.933> like<00:11:13.057> technical<00:11:14.085> lab<00:11:14.342> person<00:11:15.130> rather<00:11:15.370> than<00:11:15.611> high-level<00:11:16.752> formulators<00:11:17.620> anymore<00:11:18.037> because<00:11:18.423> they're<00:11:18.600> collecting<00:11:19.065> the<00:11:19.242> data<00:11:20.351> of,<00:11:20.527> let's<00:11:20.768> say<00:11:21.009> you<00:11:21.154> want<00:11:21.234> to<00:11:21.475> create<00:11:21.813> an<00:11:21.973> eye<00:11:22.214> cream,<00:11:23.162> what,<00:11:23.483> what<00:11:23.740> raw<00:11:23.965> materials,<00:11:24.608> ingredients<00:11:25.283> needed<00:11:25.909> at<00:11:26.054> what<00:11:26.247> stage<00:11:27.532> to<00:11:27.660> have<00:11:27.757> a<00:11:27.901> best<00:11:28.303> outcome<00:11:29.203> for<00:11:29.427> your<00:11:29.829> wrinkles<00:11:30.327> or<00:11:30.391> whatever<00:11:30.648> it<00:11:30.873> is.
00:11:31.532 --> 00:11:36.947
So<00:11:31.612> I<00:11:31.757> think<00:11:31.934> this<00:11:32.159> coming<00:11:32.576> is<00:11:32.721> not<00:11:32.962> there<00:11:33.203> yet,<00:11:34.424> but<00:11:34.601> that's—<00:11:34.890> I<00:11:34.987> just<00:11:35.147> see<00:11:35.388> it's<00:11:35.694> just<00:11:35.838> a<00:11:35.951> matter<00:11:36.256> of<00:11:36.497> time.
00:11:37.863 --> 00:11:46.765
They<00:11:39.084> will<00:11:39.325> minimize<00:11:41.157> our,<00:11:41.655> you<00:11:41.816> know,<00:11:41.896> chemists<00:11:42.442> and<00:11:42.667> scientists<00:11:43.824> at<00:11:43.969> the<00:11:44.049> high<00:11:44.306> level<00:11:44.772> position-wise<00:11:46.138> dramatically.
00:11:47.279 --> 00:11:48.484
How<00:11:47.423> long<00:11:47.536> does<00:11:47.745> R&D<00:11:48.082> take?
00:11:48.886 --> 00:11:57.802
Just<00:11:49.046> to<00:11:49.191> follow<00:11:49.464> up<00:11:49.625> and<00:11:49.705> to<00:11:49.769> continue<00:11:50.396> on<00:11:50.476> your<00:11:50.637> thought<00:11:50.798> here,<00:11:51.376> tell<00:11:51.473> me<00:11:51.681> about<00:11:52.003> R&D<00:11:52.501> and<00:11:52.645> the<00:11:52.726> whole<00:11:52.886> process<00:11:53.304> of<00:11:53.385> that<00:11:53.545> because<00:11:53.851> you're<00:11:54.011> regulated,<00:11:54.590> right,<00:11:54.831> by<00:11:54.927> the<00:11:55.634> United<00:11:55.875> States<00:11:56.197> government<00:11:56.438> and<00:11:56.582> any<00:11:56.759> other<00:11:56.984> government<00:11:57.225> that<00:11:57.402> sell<00:11:57.642> into.
00:11:59.005 --> 00:12:13.823
Yes,<00:11:59.246> so<00:11:59.567> basically<00:11:59.951> R&D<00:12:00.449> is<00:12:00.689> you<00:12:00.785> start<00:12:01.170> with<00:12:01.555> a<00:12:01.892> client<00:12:02.277> comes<00:12:02.597> to<00:12:02.758> you<00:12:03.079> and,<00:12:03.800> and<00:12:03.896> says<00:12:04.201> interest<00:12:04.843> in,<00:12:05.195> hey,<00:12:05.404> I<00:12:05.500> want<00:12:05.660> to<00:12:05.901> create<00:12:06.222> incredible—<00:12:07.264> I'm<00:12:08.451> just<00:12:08.611> going<00:12:08.691> to<00:12:08.723> make<00:12:09.028> up<00:12:09.269> a<00:12:09.285> sunscreen<00:12:10.231> that's<00:12:11.177> SPF<00:12:11.674> 50,<00:12:12.155> but<00:12:12.219> I<00:12:12.380> want<00:12:12.508> to<00:12:12.556> feel<00:12:13.118> really<00:12:13.422> nice.
00:12:14.625 --> 00:12:18.378
Uh,<00:12:15.106> also<00:12:15.347> I<00:12:15.443> want<00:12:15.571> to<00:12:15.603> have<00:12:15.764> other<00:12:16.309> benefits<00:12:16.950> other<00:12:17.127> than<00:12:17.287> protecting<00:12:17.832> the<00:12:17.929> sun.
00:12:19.356 --> 00:12:33.973
That's—<00:12:19.773> then<00:12:20.013> they<00:12:20.238> give<00:12:20.478> us<00:12:20.655> what<00:12:20.799> we<00:12:20.895> call<00:12:21.136> briefs,<00:12:22.339> then<00:12:22.483> we<00:12:22.643> take<00:12:22.964> that<00:12:23.702> and<00:12:23.782> start<00:12:24.086> using<00:12:24.423> different<00:12:24.807> ingredients<00:12:25.945> to<00:12:26.089> come<00:12:26.330> up<00:12:27.083> to<00:12:27.211> satisfy<00:12:27.948> the<00:12:28.092> brand,<00:12:28.669> the<00:12:28.813> customer,<00:12:30.192> and<00:12:30.304> make<00:12:30.576> sure<00:12:31.073> that<00:12:32.034> everything<00:12:32.435> they're<00:12:32.675> looking<00:12:32.996> for<00:12:33.236> is<00:12:33.412> in<00:12:33.637> there.
00:12:34.438 --> 00:12:40.944
And<00:12:34.518> that<00:12:34.742> could<00:12:35.544> be<00:12:35.720> 20<00:12:36.024> ingredients<00:12:36.665> or<00:12:36.842> could<00:12:37.002> be<00:12:37.242> 40<00:12:37.627> ingredients<00:12:38.284> in<00:12:38.364> the<00:12:38.524> formula,<00:12:39.806> and<00:12:39.886> going<00:12:40.127> back<00:12:40.431> and<00:12:40.527> forth.
00:12:41.553 --> 00:12:52.812
Uh,<00:12:41.649> that's<00:12:41.889> typical<00:12:42.530> until<00:12:44.117> finally<00:12:44.597> the<00:12:45.495> customer<00:12:45.960> approves<00:12:46.376> the<00:12:46.520> formula,<00:12:47.258> and<00:12:47.338> then<00:12:47.482> we<00:12:47.578> go<00:12:47.722> to<00:12:47.818> the<00:12:47.850> next<00:12:48.123> step<00:12:49.084> to<00:12:50.666> get<00:12:50.843> the<00:12:50.988> pricing<00:12:51.634> and<00:12:51.779> everything<00:12:52.199> that's<00:12:52.441> needed.
00:12:53.247 --> 00:13:00.463
But<00:12:53.635> initially,<00:12:55.167> it's<00:12:55.409> to<00:12:55.506> satisfy<00:12:56.232> the<00:12:58.475> customer<00:12:59.620> of<00:12:59.685> what<00:12:59.750> they're<00:12:59.928> looking<00:13:00.334> for.
00:13:00.593 --> 00:13:07.553
And<00:13:00.755> this,<00:13:01.891> I<00:13:02.053> think<00:13:02.216> this<00:13:02.281> is<00:13:02.459> going<00:13:02.573> to<00:13:02.702> be<00:13:04.065> eventually<00:13:04.633> that<00:13:04.876> AI<00:13:05.217> is<00:13:05.461> able<00:13:05.866> to<00:13:06.256> figure<00:13:06.515> that<00:13:06.677> out.
00:13:08.603 --> 00:13:14.399
It's<00:13:09.489> very<00:13:09.666> similar<00:13:10.052> to<00:13:10.197> like<00:13:11.163> creating<00:13:11.437> a<00:13:11.501> spaghetti<00:13:12.129> or<00:13:12.161> something,<00:13:12.612> you<00:13:12.644> know,<00:13:12.934> like<00:13:13.176> what<00:13:13.272> do<00:13:13.337> you<00:13:13.433> need<00:13:13.675> to<00:13:13.755> make<00:13:13.981> the<00:13:14.077> best<00:13:14.319> taste?
00:13:17.625 --> 00:13:19.207
Yeah,<00:13:17.754> yeah,<00:13:17.932> that,<00:13:18.109> that's<00:13:18.335> super<00:13:18.739> interesting.
00:13:19.482 --> 00:13:29.098
Yeah,<00:13:19.805> I<00:13:20.031> wonder,<00:13:20.596> um,<00:13:21.582> I<00:13:21.646> wonder<00:13:21.824> how<00:13:21.985> regulations<00:13:22.712> change<00:13:23.665> and,<00:13:24.230> you<00:13:24.327> know,<00:13:24.731> when<00:13:24.989> a<00:13:25.118> regulation<00:13:25.684> changes<00:13:26.330> or<00:13:26.491> when<00:13:26.685> something<00:13:26.992> comes<00:13:27.217> out,<00:13:27.795> how<00:13:27.892> does<00:13:28.037> that<00:13:28.181> affect<00:13:28.583> your<00:13:28.680> company?
00:13:30.046 --> 00:13:35.335
Like,<00:13:30.271> what<00:13:30.368> do<00:13:30.432> you<00:13:30.609> do<00:13:31.011> in<00:13:31.075> order<00:13:31.332> to<00:13:31.493> respond<00:13:32.280> to,<00:13:33.084> um,<00:13:33.325> hey,<00:13:33.583> you<00:13:33.679> need<00:13:33.840> to<00:13:33.968> tweak<00:13:34.226> this<00:13:34.483> or<00:13:34.547> you<00:13:34.692> need<00:13:34.869> to<00:13:34.901> tweak<00:13:35.174> that?
00:13:35.977 --> 00:13:37.924
Um,<00:13:36.561> I<00:13:36.577> mean,<00:13:36.723> does<00:13:36.869> that<00:13:37.113> happen<00:13:37.454> that<00:13:37.616> often?
00:13:38.736 --> 00:13:39.288
Well,<00:13:38.898> it<00:13:38.995> does.
00:13:39.547 --> 00:13:52.021
I<00:13:39.645> mean,<00:13:40.196> every—<00:13:40.537> it's<00:13:40.699> almost<00:13:41.024> like<00:13:41.332> the<00:13:42.463> It's<00:13:42.607> a,<00:13:42.944> it's<00:13:43.168> a<00:13:44.050> custom<00:13:44.612> of<00:13:44.692> the<00:13:44.788> brand's<00:13:45.510> taste<00:13:46.296> where<00:13:46.472> they<00:13:46.777> feel,<00:13:48.220> oh,<00:13:48.862> I<00:13:48.942> don't<00:13:49.118> like<00:13:49.343> the<00:13:49.423> smell,<00:13:49.920> can<00:13:50.080> you<00:13:50.241> make<00:13:50.546> it<00:13:50.866> this<00:13:51.107> type<00:13:51.347> smell?
00:13:52.903 --> 00:13:56.030
Or<00:13:53.112> viscosity<00:13:53.769> is<00:13:53.929> too<00:13:54.250> low,<00:13:54.491> can<00:13:54.651> you<00:13:54.747> make<00:13:54.908> it<00:13:54.988> a<00:13:55.052> little<00:13:55.293> bit<00:13:55.517> higher?
00:13:56.576 --> 00:14:06.246
These<00:13:56.816> things<00:13:57.201> happen<00:13:57.682> all<00:13:57.859> the<00:13:58.019> time,<00:13:59.286> and<00:14:00.344> this<00:14:00.585> is<00:14:00.729> more<00:14:00.890> of<00:14:01.066> what<00:14:01.307> customers<00:14:01.868> taste,<00:14:02.670> and,<00:14:02.975> and<00:14:03.135> we<00:14:03.231> try<00:14:03.552> to<00:14:03.808> satisfy<00:14:04.514> them<00:14:05.332> to<00:14:05.476> their<00:14:05.717> need.
00:14:07.946 --> 00:14:13.627
This<00:14:08.123> is<00:14:08.347> at,<00:14:08.588> at<00:14:08.684> that<00:14:08.845> point,<00:14:09.230> we're<00:14:09.326> not<00:14:09.471> really<00:14:10.546> typically<00:14:11.172> related<00:14:11.557> to,<00:14:12.199> uh,<00:14:12.456> FDA<00:14:13.001> guideline.
00:14:13.900 --> 00:14:27.910
Is<00:14:14.237> the—<00:14:14.703> when<00:14:14.863> we<00:14:15.007> do<00:14:15.168> FDA<00:14:15.585> guideline<00:14:16.291> is<00:14:16.452> what<00:14:16.628> we<00:14:16.773> are<00:14:16.869> claiming,<00:14:18.137> uh,<00:14:18.233> when<00:14:18.378> we<00:14:18.410> start<00:14:18.715> claiming<00:14:19.196> things<00:14:19.661> that<00:14:19.838> this<00:14:20.063> going<00:14:20.159> to<00:14:20.239> protect<00:14:20.705> you<00:14:20.945> to<00:14:21.202> sun<00:14:22.630> SPF<00:14:23.048> 50<00:14:24.075> numbers,<00:14:25.054> that's<00:14:25.278> whether<00:14:25.519> we<00:14:25.615> get<00:14:25.792> involved<00:14:26.257> with<00:14:26.883> government<00:14:27.140> regulations.
00:14:28.087 --> 00:14:36.834
But<00:14:28.327> until<00:14:28.664> that<00:14:28.873> happens,<00:14:30.029> it's<00:14:30.189> between<00:14:31.473> i-Labs,<00:14:32.821> uh,<00:14:33.399> scientist<00:14:34.426> and<00:14:35.068> customers<00:14:36.272> at<00:14:36.369> that<00:14:36.529> point.
00:14:37.332 --> 00:14:45.136
How<00:14:37.428> are<00:14:37.557> you<00:14:37.734> thinking<00:14:38.119> about<00:14:38.456> the<00:14:38.681> economic<00:14:39.163> look<00:14:39.484> at,<00:14:39.741> look<00:14:39.981> at,<00:14:40.447> um,<00:14:41.009> forecast,<00:14:41.571> let's<00:14:41.780> say<00:14:42.711> for<00:14:43.032> 2025,<00:14:44.156> how<00:14:44.220> are<00:14:44.461> you<00:14:44.558> thinking<00:14:44.863> about<00:14:45.039> that?
00:14:45.200 --> 00:14:47.769
Is<00:14:45.344> it,<00:14:45.665> uh,<00:14:45.922> you<00:14:46.067> feeling<00:14:46.404> good<00:14:46.629> about<00:14:46.870> where<00:14:47.111> we're<00:14:47.207> going<00:14:47.528> right<00:14:47.624> now?
00:14:47.929 --> 00:14:59.538
Do<00:14:47.994> you<00:14:48.154> think,<00:14:48.957> um,<00:14:49.535> I<00:14:49.551> mean,<00:14:49.920> obviously<00:14:50.258> tariffs<00:14:50.659> are<00:14:50.739> this<00:14:51.542> really<00:14:51.863> interesting<00:14:52.522> and<00:14:52.650> intense<00:14:53.068> curveball,<00:14:54.192> but<00:14:54.352> how<00:14:54.737> overall<00:14:55.235> compare<00:14:55.637> it<00:14:55.717> to<00:14:55.861> 2024,<00:14:56.680> how<00:14:56.857> are<00:14:57.001> you<00:14:57.162> feeling<00:14:57.483> about<00:14:57.804> it<00:14:58.350> going<00:14:58.607> into<00:14:58.768> 2025?

Well,<00:15:01.319> Clint,<00:15:01.800> um,<00:15:02.458> to<00:15:02.618> be<00:15:02.842> honest,<00:15:03.644> is<00:15:04.318> I'm<00:15:04.510> a<00:15:04.623> little<00:15:04.943> worried.
00:15:05.569 --> 00:15:23.723
Well,<00:15:06.323> there's<00:15:06.483> a<00:15:06.611> lot<00:15:06.724> of<00:15:06.932> uncertainty<00:15:07.910> in<00:15:08.055> our<00:15:08.231> industry,<00:15:09.450> so<00:15:09.594> when<00:15:09.739> you<00:15:09.835> have<00:15:10.059> uncertainty,<00:15:12.321> it's<00:15:12.465> just<00:15:13.042> very<00:15:13.363> difficult<00:15:13.828> to<00:15:13.988> predict<00:15:14.566> because,<00:15:15.271> you<00:15:15.448> know,<00:15:15.849> what<00:15:16.651> is<00:15:16.875> the<00:15:16.955> side<00:15:17.453> effect<00:15:17.998> is<00:15:18.094> going<00:15:18.206> to<00:15:18.335> happen<00:15:19.056> to<00:15:19.217> this<00:15:19.698> tariffs<00:15:20.885> or<00:15:21.221> any<00:15:21.462> other<00:15:21.783> new<00:15:22.007> rules<00:15:22.408> coming<00:15:22.729> out<00:15:22.905> in<00:15:23.066> the<00:15:23.146> future.
00:15:24.573 --> 00:15:30.983
And<00:15:24.894> you<00:15:24.974> could<00:15:25.070> just<00:15:25.776> You<00:15:25.872> could<00:15:26.016> have<00:15:26.192> great<00:15:26.513> business<00:15:26.994> and<00:15:27.154> next<00:15:27.394> thing<00:15:27.618> you<00:15:27.715> know,<00:15:28.211> oh<00:15:28.275> my<00:15:28.436> God,<00:15:28.980> now<00:15:29.573> this<00:15:29.878> business<00:15:30.214> is<00:15:30.358> disaster.
00:15:31.704 --> 00:15:57.171
Um,<00:15:32.522> we<00:15:32.762> do<00:15:33.147> export<00:15:33.723> product<00:15:34.300> to<00:15:34.525> Canada<00:15:34.989> a<00:15:35.150> lot,<00:15:36.191> and<00:15:37.633> if,<00:15:38.226> if<00:15:38.370> Canada<00:15:38.835> decide<00:15:39.252> to<00:15:39.492> increase<00:15:39.973> the<00:15:40.133> duty<00:15:41.559> to<00:15:42.777> what<00:15:43.642> we<00:15:43.738> are—<00:15:44.283> Trump<00:15:44.700> administration<00:15:45.501> is<00:15:45.741> placing,<00:15:47.408> then<00:15:47.664> if<00:15:47.808> they<00:15:47.904> say,<00:15:48.209> oh,<00:15:48.305> we're<00:15:48.449> going<00:15:48.625> to<00:15:48.737> charge<00:15:48.946> 30%<00:15:49.587> duty<00:15:49.827> coming<00:15:50.228> into<00:15:50.853> Canada<00:15:51.269> from<00:15:51.494> Made<00:15:51.766> in<00:15:51.894> USA,<00:15:53.353> then<00:15:53.995> we,<00:15:54.299> the<00:15:54.396> business<00:15:54.813> is<00:15:55.038> done,<00:15:55.439> you<00:15:55.519> know,<00:15:55.936> it's<00:15:56.722> difficult.

Yeah,<00:16:05.851> that<00:16:06.028> is,<00:16:06.509> that<00:16:06.669> is<00:16:06.974> fascinating.
00:16:08.113 --> 00:16:10.825
Yeah,<00:16:08.306> that's<00:16:08.418> an<00:16:08.498> interesting<00:16:08.980> thing<00:16:09.236> that<00:16:09.541> you,<00:16:09.878> you<00:16:10.038> have<00:16:10.215> to<00:16:10.343> deal<00:16:10.520> with<00:16:10.680> here.
00:16:10.921 --> 00:16:17.435
Like,<00:16:11.146> this<00:16:11.386> really<00:16:11.627> does<00:16:11.884> affect<00:16:12.991> anyone<00:16:13.311> who's<00:16:13.552> doing<00:16:13.809> exporting<00:16:14.290> or<00:16:14.370> importing<00:16:14.771> at<00:16:14.852> the<00:16:14.932> level<00:16:15.205> that<00:16:15.317> you're<00:16:15.477> doing<00:16:15.975> and<00:16:16.039> having<00:16:16.360> to<00:16:16.440> sell<00:16:16.697> into<00:16:16.841> other<00:16:17.082> countries.

00:16:18.879 --> 00:16:21.911
It's<00:16:19.023> a<00:16:19.103> really<00:16:19.328> interesting<00:16:19.745> time,<00:16:20.002> and<00:16:20.210> we'll<00:16:20.307> see<00:16:20.451> kind<00:16:20.643> of<00:16:20.708> how<00:16:20.868> it<00:16:20.948> shakes<00:16:21.333> out<00:16:21.654> for<00:16:21.734> sure.
00:16:22.610 --> 00:16:38.456
Know,<00:16:23.533> we<00:16:23.679> have<00:16:23.792> a<00:16:23.922> very,<00:16:24.327> um,<00:16:25.865> I<00:16:25.963> think<00:16:26.189> these<00:16:26.448> things<00:16:26.918> we<00:16:27.339> really<00:16:27.599> need<00:16:28.052> to<00:16:30.077> strategize<00:16:31.065> very,<00:16:31.389> very<00:16:31.600> carefully<00:16:32.358> because<00:16:32.842> the<00:16:32.939> side<00:16:33.406> effect<00:16:33.810> could<00:16:33.971> cause<00:16:34.374> a<00:16:34.455> lot<00:16:34.681> of<00:16:34.778> damage<00:16:35.762> in,<00:16:36.133> in<00:16:36.375> whether<00:16:36.569> it's<00:16:36.778> United<00:16:37.101> States<00:16:37.424> or<00:16:37.504> any<00:16:37.746> other<00:16:37.924> country.
00:16:38.908 --> 00:16:39.569
I'm<00:16:39.118> not<00:16:39.214> sure.
00:16:40.182 --> 00:16:40.844
What<00:16:40.295> do<00:16:40.408> you<00:16:40.570> read?
00:16:41.215 --> 00:16:42.349
Give<00:16:41.315> us<00:16:41.420> some<00:16:41.665> reading<00:16:41.999> recommendations.
00:16:44.462 --> 00:16:53.677
Well,<00:16:45.099> these<00:16:45.278> days<00:16:45.589> I<00:16:45.638> don't<00:16:45.785> have<00:16:45.997> much<00:16:46.258> time<00:16:46.666> for<00:16:46.830> reading<00:16:47.238> it,<00:16:47.548> but,<00:16:48.119> um,<00:16:49.598> I've<00:16:49.759> been<00:16:49.935> working<00:16:50.257> so<00:16:50.481> much<00:16:50.963> lately,<00:16:51.381> but<00:16:52.489> you<00:16:52.569> know,<00:16:52.971> I<00:16:53.372> do<00:16:53.469> read.
00:16:53.951 --> 00:17:02.623
There's<00:16:54.111> one<00:16:54.352> book<00:16:54.577> that<00:16:54.738> I<00:16:54.898> read<00:16:55.075> over<00:16:55.380> and<00:16:55.541> over<00:16:55.781> again<00:16:57.227> is<00:16:58.030> How<00:16:58.367> to<00:16:58.512> Win<00:16:58.769> Friends<00:16:59.411> and<00:16:59.572> Influence<00:17:00.038> People,<00:17:00.937> like<00:17:01.499> by<00:17:01.820> Dale<00:17:02.142> Carnegie.
00:17:02.929 --> 00:17:05.852
I<00:17:02.945> like<00:17:03.170> that<00:17:03.410> book<00:17:03.587> a<00:17:03.732> lot<00:17:04.535> and<00:17:04.936> learn<00:17:05.113> a<00:17:05.193> lot<00:17:05.354> from<00:17:05.611> it.
00:17:05.900 --> 00:17:08.454
And<00:17:06.061> every<00:17:06.237> time<00:17:06.398> I<00:17:06.558> read,<00:17:07.426> I<00:17:07.908> always<00:17:08.148> learning.
00:17:08.871 --> 00:17:11.184
And<00:17:09.273> I<00:17:09.305> just<00:17:09.594> picked<00:17:09.787> up<00:17:09.947> another<00:17:10.413> book<00:17:10.654> recently.
00:17:11.361 --> 00:17:13.706
It's<00:17:12.726> called<00:17:13.127> Influencer.
00:17:15.392 --> 00:17:28.553
So<00:17:15.776> the<00:17:16.017> new<00:17:16.129> science<00:17:16.658> of<00:17:16.818> like<00:17:17.059> the<00:17:18.037> leading<00:17:18.662> changes,<00:17:20.105> I<00:17:20.201> haven't<00:17:20.425> studied<00:17:20.746> yet,<00:17:20.986> but<00:17:21.163> that's,<00:17:21.547> um,<00:17:21.900> I'm<00:17:22.269> reading<00:17:22.525> it<00:17:22.606> because<00:17:23.648> the<00:17:23.808> way<00:17:23.968> we<00:17:24.128> marketing<00:17:24.690> things<00:17:24.994> are<00:17:25.090> changing<00:17:25.491> so<00:17:25.715> fast,<00:17:26.597> um,<00:17:27.319> through<00:17:27.479> the<00:17:27.575> influence<00:17:28.361> world.
00:17:29.258 --> 00:17:37.803
Finally,<00:17:29.803> uh,<00:17:30.044> we<00:17:30.140> end<00:17:30.300> every<00:17:30.477> interview<00:17:30.733> with<00:17:30.861> the<00:17:30.941> same<00:17:31.246> question,<00:17:31.823> and<00:17:31.903> that<00:17:32.128> is<00:17:32.304> at<00:17:32.384> CEO.com,<00:17:33.266> we<00:17:33.410> believe<00:17:33.603> the<00:17:33.731> chances<00:17:34.212> one<00:17:34.532> gives<00:17:35.687> is<00:17:35.815> just<00:17:35.959> as<00:17:36.151> important<00:17:36.472> as<00:17:36.616> the<00:17:36.713> chances<00:17:37.113> one<00:17:37.274> takes.
00:17:38.316 --> 00:17:41.073
When<00:17:38.540> you<00:17:38.716> hear<00:17:38.877> that,<00:17:39.101> who<00:17:39.277> gave<00:17:39.502> you<00:17:39.598> a<00:17:39.662> chance<00:17:39.935> to<00:17:40.063> get<00:17:40.223> you<00:17:40.303> to<00:17:40.384> where<00:17:40.560> you<00:17:40.736> are<00:17:40.880> today?
00:17:43.368 --> 00:17:52.744
Well,<00:17:43.850> I<00:17:44.010> think<00:17:44.492> there<00:17:44.877> are<00:17:44.974> many,<00:17:45.471> many<00:17:45.856> people<00:17:46.178> in<00:17:46.322> my<00:17:47.141> journey<00:17:47.927> of<00:17:48.249> where<00:17:48.489> I<00:17:48.746> am<00:17:48.907> today<00:17:49.372> has<00:17:49.629> been<00:17:49.854> really<00:17:50.576> contribute<00:17:51.154> to<00:17:51.235> my<00:17:51.395> success,<00:17:52.182> to<00:17:52.278> be<00:17:52.423> honest.
00:17:52.904 --> 00:18:03.644
And<00:17:53.161> I<00:17:53.241> think<00:17:53.402> starting<00:17:53.707> with<00:17:53.803> my<00:17:53.980> mother,<00:17:55.553> you<00:17:55.601> know,<00:17:55.714> when<00:17:55.874> she<00:17:56.115> came<00:17:56.677> to<00:17:56.998> United<00:17:57.415> States,<00:17:57.817> she<00:17:57.913> was<00:17:58.058> immigrated<00:17:58.780> to<00:17:58.844> United<00:17:59.181> States<00:18:00.305> and<00:18:00.610> brought<00:18:00.867> me<00:18:01.092> into<00:18:01.589> this<00:18:01.830> country<00:18:02.312> at<00:18:02.697> age<00:18:03.099> 12.
00:18:04.174 --> 00:18:07.738
It<00:18:04.238> gave<00:18:04.399> me<00:18:04.463> an<00:18:04.559> opportunity<00:18:05.378> to<00:18:05.507> be<00:18:05.603> an<00:18:05.683> entrepreneur<00:18:06.646> here<00:18:06.807> in<00:18:06.968> the<00:18:07.032> United<00:18:07.401> States.
00:18:08.476 --> 00:18:12.936
And<00:18:08.974> work<00:18:09.278> hard<00:18:09.599> and<00:18:10.080> educate<00:18:11.203> and<00:18:11.941> become<00:18:12.262> successful.
00:18:13.160 --> 00:18:15.246
And<00:18:13.786> it<00:18:13.866> started<00:18:14.187> kind<00:18:14.428> of<00:18:14.492> with<00:18:14.652> my<00:18:14.764> mother.
00:18:15.775 --> 00:18:30.292
And<00:18:16.016> along<00:18:16.352> the<00:18:16.497> way,<00:18:17.636> as<00:18:17.732> I'm<00:18:17.940> running<00:18:18.197> different<00:18:18.518> companies,<00:18:20.619> it's<00:18:21.229> pretty<00:18:21.389> much<00:18:21.742> many<00:18:22.207> people<00:18:22.689> that<00:18:22.913> really<00:18:23.154> give<00:18:23.250> me<00:18:23.330> the<00:18:23.635> opportunity<00:18:24.293> to<00:18:24.437> work<00:18:24.694> with<00:18:24.870> them<00:18:25.351> or<00:18:25.496> introduce<00:18:26.041> other<00:18:26.218> people<00:18:27.084> to<00:18:27.501> that,<00:18:28.383> and<00:18:28.688> later<00:18:28.928> on<00:18:29.025> became<00:18:29.666> my<00:18:29.763> success.
00:18:31.367 --> 00:18:41.217
So<00:18:31.976> it<00:18:32.137> is<00:18:32.393> many,<00:18:32.730> many<00:18:33.099> people,<00:18:33.757> and<00:18:34.318> I<00:18:34.398> always<00:18:34.719> appreciate<00:18:35.906> that<00:18:36.404> I'm<00:18:36.901> only<00:18:37.126> a<00:18:37.142> small<00:18:37.607> portion<00:18:38.008> of<00:18:38.088> my<00:18:38.249> success<00:18:39.051> is,<00:18:39.516> you<00:18:39.597> know,<00:18:39.693> rest<00:18:40.014> is<00:18:40.399> people<00:18:40.607> around<00:18:40.976> me.
