Julia Gudish Krieger thinks the $250,000 minimum is the problem
A traditional venture fund cannot practically accept a check smaller than about $250,000. Below that, the regulatory and administrative cost of an investor outweighs the capital. This is not controversial. It is how the industry works, and it quietly determines who gets to sit on a cap table: people who have already had an exit, or people with a fund's name behind them.
Julia Gudish Krieger looked at that number and decided it was excluding the wrong people.
"A lot of the folks who are operators haven't had that crazy exit," she said on the CEO.com Podcast. "Maybe their net worth is mostly sitting in the form of equity, so they could only invest 15K, but they're actually even more valuable than someone who exited five years ago because they're still plugged into the scene."
Pari Passu Venture Partners, the New York firm where she is Managing Partner, is built to let those people in. It has no fund. Each deal is its own special purpose vehicle, and members of the firm's network choose which ones to join and how much to commit, starting at $10,000. The average check to a company is about $1 million, which means somewhere around 20 operators sit behind each one. Between December 2020 and the fall of 2024, the firm backed 24 companies, co-investing alongside Sequoia Capital, Upfront Ventures, and Sierra Ventures.
The people writing those $10,000 checks are the point. The firm's February 2024 announcement put the network at more than 400 e-commerce leaders, among them Brandon Brown of Grin, Brandin Cohen of Liquid I.V., and Kim Perell. Her founding partners, Kyle Widrick and Dylan Whitman, built BVA Commerce into Shopify's largest agency partner before Accenture bought it. Most of the firm's deals are B2B software for e-commerce, and most of its members run e-commerce companies. A founder who takes PPVP money is also taking on a room full of potential customers.
There are costs to doing it this way, and she does not pretend otherwise. Twenty-four deals in nearly four years is a deliberate pace. Without committed capital, every deal is a fresh raise from the network, and a founder cannot count on reserved follow-on the way they might with a fund. The tradeoff, in her telling, is that the flexibility runs both ways. An operator who knows SEO cold can put $50,000 into the SEO company, $10,000 into the next one, and sit out the third entirely. A fund cannot offer that, and neither can the crowd-equity platforms, which rarely get access to deals at this level.
"It's typically not the deals you would have access to unless you were an institution writing bigger checks," she said. "But we're typically the exception because of the bench of support that you end up getting."
She has been on both sides of that bench. Insight Partners hired her as an intern at 20, between her junior and senior years at Harvard, and let her call any CEO she wanted. She stayed four years. In an interview with HuffPost during her VillageLuxe years, she said she invested more than $100 million in internet and SaaS businesses across the United States, Russia, Canada, and Israel. Then she left to found VillageLuxe, a peer-to-peer rental marketplace for designer clothing that put her on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2017.
The company rented Birkin bags and Chanel boots from other women's closets for about $200 a week. It was a hard business. She has described staying up all night worrying about payroll.
That is the experience she wants on her cap tables. The name of the firm is a legal term meaning on equal footing, and she reads it as founders backing founders. Her portfolio CEOs have her number and permission to use it at any hour.
"If you don't have the kind of relationship where someone can be vulnerable with you because they're only trying to share the shiny stuff, you're not going to be able to help before it's kind of too late to help," she said on the CEO.com Podcast.
The firm spent a year building an app so the network would have somewhere to live besides email. Members apply with a LinkedIn profile and proof of accreditation. There is no membership fee and no annual minimum. When a portfolio founder needs an introduction, it goes out as a push notification. When a member sees a bootstrapped company in their own tech stack that is quietly winning, they flag it. She said the network has become the firm's best source of deals, which is the other half of the argument for letting operators in: they see things first.
Asked at the end who gave her a chance, she named Insight, and the model it ran when she arrived. Analysts and associates sourced 80 percent of the firm's deals. A 20-year-old with a phone and a partner's backing could find a company and bring it in. Pari Passu is that idea turned outward. The person with the least capital in the room often has the most to add.

00:00:59.932 --> 00:01:05.720
That<00:01:00.493> collectively<00:01:01.599> are<00:01:01.776> able<00:01:01.936> to<00:01:02.080> come<00:01:02.257> together<00:01:02.898> and<00:01:03.139> back<00:01:03.459> some<00:01:03.700> of<00:01:03.748> the<00:01:03.796> leading<00:01:04.084> companies<00:01:04.646> within<00:01:05.303> venture.

00:01:26.467 --> 00:01:28.166

00:01:29.016 --> 00:01:50.079
Seed<00:01:29.336> thought<00:01:29.513> for<00:01:29.737> us<00:01:29.897> for<00:01:29.994> Peripassu<00:01:30.699> is<00:01:31.116> how<00:01:31.212> do<00:01:31.356> we<00:01:31.501> create<00:01:32.478> the<00:01:32.703> world's<00:01:33.055> most<00:01:33.280> powerful,<00:01:34.626> you<00:01:34.658> know,<00:01:34.883> value<00:01:35.348> add<00:01:35.508> on<00:01:35.668> cap<00:01:35.941> tables,<00:01:36.726> but<00:01:36.887> also<00:01:37.207> allow<00:01:38.169> incredible<00:01:38.714> operators<00:01:39.227> and<00:01:39.371> founders<00:01:39.932> that<00:01:40.638> maybe<00:01:40.894> haven't<00:01:41.151> had<00:01:41.311> a<00:01:41.439> crazy<00:01:41.840> exit<00:01:42.161> where<00:01:42.257> they<00:01:42.417> can<00:01:42.577> put,<00:01:42.962> you<00:01:43.058> know,<00:01:43.283> $250K<00:01:43.844> into<00:01:44.020> a<00:01:44.036> fund,<00:01:45.046> you<00:01:45.142> know,<00:01:45.767> uh,<00:01:46.184> to<00:01:46.665> write<00:01:46.986> much<00:01:47.226> more<00:01:47.467> approachable<00:01:48.028> checks,<00:01:48.508> but<00:01:48.669> into<00:01:48.973> really<00:01:49.150> competitive<00:01:49.550> deals<00:01:49.791> and<00:01:49.871> ventures.

00:02:08.074 --> 00:02:10.530
And<00:02:08.170> it<00:02:08.235> was<00:02:08.395> very<00:02:08.716> like,<00:02:08.989> so<00:02:09.198> why<00:02:09.438> do<00:02:09.503> you<00:02:09.759> have<00:02:09.936> a<00:02:10.016> fund?

What,<00:02:11.284> you<00:02:11.364> know,<00:02:11.669> and<00:02:11.830> like,<00:02:12.969> it<00:02:13.033> was<00:02:13.194> very<00:02:13.435> generalist.
00:02:14.077 --> 00:02:18.073
Let's<00:02:14.189> say<00:02:14.334> that<00:02:14.574> like<00:02:14.735> a<00:02:14.751> lot<00:02:15.056> of<00:02:15.216> VC's<00:02:15.842> history<00:02:16.179> is<00:02:16.324> kind<00:02:16.388> of<00:02:16.436> like<00:02:16.645> generalist<00:02:16.950> and<00:02:17.062> you<00:02:17.222> pick<00:02:17.527> deals<00:02:17.784> and<00:02:17.945> stuff.
00:02:18.121 --> 00:02:33.159
It<00:02:18.201> sounds<00:02:18.426> like<00:02:18.571> what<00:02:18.667> you're<00:02:18.827> doing<00:02:19.084> is<00:02:19.229> like<00:02:19.951> very<00:02:20.208> much<00:02:20.657> like<00:02:20.978> operator-focused,<00:02:22.503> like<00:02:22.663> people<00:02:22.824> who<00:02:22.920> have<00:02:23.064> actually<00:02:23.466> been<00:02:23.626> in<00:02:23.723> the<00:02:23.803> trenches<00:02:24.364> before,<00:02:25.311> who<00:02:25.392> have<00:02:25.648> done<00:02:25.969> this,<00:02:26.355> helping<00:02:26.997> and<00:02:27.093> supporting<00:02:27.815> and<00:02:27.895> investing<00:02:28.618> in<00:02:29.003> other<00:02:29.179> people<00:02:30.207> And<00:02:30.848> man,<00:02:31.025> the<00:02:31.185> value<00:02:31.522> of<00:02:31.667> that<00:02:32.052> is<00:02:32.550> beyond<00:02:32.951> money.
00:02:33.432 --> 00:02:34.010
I<00:02:33.577> think<00:02:33.769> so.
00:02:34.074 --> 00:02:38.584
I<00:02:34.235> think<00:02:34.459> we've<00:02:34.620> seen<00:02:34.796> the<00:02:34.876> last<00:02:35.278> few<00:02:35.438> years<00:02:35.759> with,<00:02:36.225> you<00:02:36.337> know,<00:02:36.882> the<00:02:37.043> unthinkable<00:02:37.669> can<00:02:37.910> happen,<00:02:38.327> right?
00:02:38.648 --> 00:02:41.954
Pandemics,<00:02:39.530> you<00:02:39.627> know,<00:02:39.851> valuations,<00:02:40.638> bubbles<00:02:40.975> bursting<00:02:41.392> or<00:02:41.520> whatnot.
00:02:42.323 --> 00:02:52.465
And<00:02:42.483> I<00:02:42.580> think<00:02:42.852> startup<00:02:43.366> founders<00:02:43.767> have<00:02:43.928> realized<00:02:44.409> maybe<00:02:44.666> even<00:02:44.906> more<00:02:45.083> so<00:02:45.452> that<00:02:46.190> a<00:02:46.351> value-add<00:02:46.896> investor<00:02:47.859> is<00:02:47.956> important,<00:02:48.822> you<00:02:48.918> know,<00:02:49.063> for<00:02:49.304> when<00:02:49.480> the<00:02:49.657> quote-unquote<00:02:50.523> shit<00:02:50.748> hits<00:02:51.005> the<00:02:51.149> fan,<00:02:51.406> because<00:02:51.791> it<00:02:51.919> can,<00:02:52.208> right?
00:02:52.513 --> 00:02:59.253
So<00:02:52.610> to<00:02:52.770> actually<00:02:53.075> have<00:02:53.171> people<00:02:53.492> that<00:02:53.572> have<00:02:53.653> had<00:02:53.877> to<00:02:53.909> navigate,<00:02:54.856> you<00:02:54.936> know,<00:02:55.033> not<00:02:55.257> just<00:02:55.498> the<00:02:55.578> shiny<00:02:56.044> exits<00:02:56.461> and<00:02:56.541> experience<00:02:57.103> there,<00:02:57.408> but<00:02:57.504> like<00:02:57.649> have<00:02:57.745> had<00:02:57.841> to<00:02:57.921> navigate<00:02:58.387> difficult<00:02:58.820> times,<00:02:59.173> right?
00:02:59.334 --> 00:03:02.207
And<00:02:59.494> can<00:03:00.216> roll<00:03:00.393> up<00:03:00.489> their<00:03:00.618> sleeves<00:03:01.099> and<00:03:01.260> actually<00:03:01.661> help,<00:03:02.079> right?
00:03:02.336 --> 00:03:05.435
And<00:03:02.545> think<00:03:02.785> through<00:03:03.604> what's<00:03:03.845> not<00:03:04.070> working<00:03:04.568> and<00:03:04.648> what's<00:03:04.889> worked<00:03:05.114> for<00:03:05.226> them.
00:03:05.531 --> 00:03:09.802
And<00:03:06.013> I<00:03:06.093> think<00:03:06.318> going<00:03:06.639> through<00:03:06.832> the<00:03:06.960> entrepreneurial<00:03:07.442> experience,<00:03:08.646> it<00:03:08.806> changes<00:03:09.288> you,<00:03:09.625> right?
00:03:09.866 --> 00:03:13.125
I<00:03:09.946> think<00:03:10.428> it<00:03:10.974> gives<00:03:11.167> you<00:03:11.375> a<00:03:11.536> different<00:03:11.793> sense,<00:03:12.034> I<00:03:12.114> think,<00:03:12.258> of<00:03:12.339> like<00:03:12.499> human<00:03:12.756> empathy.
00:03:13.222 --> 00:03:20.592
Once<00:03:13.398> you<00:03:13.559> know<00:03:13.864> really<00:03:14.121> what<00:03:14.217> it's<00:03:14.426> like<00:03:14.763> being<00:03:15.004> again<00:03:15.325> kind<00:03:15.502> of<00:03:15.711> in<00:03:15.807> the<00:03:15.903> trenches<00:03:16.369> and<00:03:16.529> solving<00:03:16.850> the<00:03:16.995> problems<00:03:17.573> and<00:03:18.296> navigating<00:03:18.841> emotional<00:03:19.339> states<00:03:19.741> and<00:03:19.885> all<00:03:19.981> the<00:03:20.126> things.
00:03:21.571 --> 00:03:32.670
And<00:03:21.667> I<00:03:21.748> think<00:03:22.374> it<00:03:22.534> also<00:03:22.807> then<00:03:23.032> puts<00:03:23.273> you<00:03:23.369> in<00:03:23.450> a<00:03:23.514> place<00:03:23.851> of<00:03:23.995> really<00:03:24.236> wanting<00:03:24.477> to<00:03:24.638> pass<00:03:25.039> along<00:03:25.906> those<00:03:26.226> learnings<00:03:27.044> to<00:03:27.268> other<00:03:27.509> founders<00:03:28.310> and,<00:03:28.791> you<00:03:28.823> know,<00:03:28.919> let<00:03:29.112> someone<00:03:29.432> benefit<00:03:29.849> from<00:03:30.169> mistakes<00:03:30.570> that<00:03:30.714> I've<00:03:30.907> made<00:03:31.211> or<00:03:31.275> had<00:03:31.452> to<00:03:31.532> navigate<00:03:32.093> or<00:03:32.237> whatnot.
00:03:32.734 --> 00:03:46.070
And<00:03:32.830> so,<00:03:33.680> yeah,<00:03:33.840> I<00:03:34.096> think,<00:03:34.417> I<00:03:34.561> think<00:03:34.673> it<00:03:34.818> becomes<00:03:35.940> very,<00:03:36.340> very<00:03:36.982> important<00:03:37.767> for<00:03:37.959> founders<00:03:38.889> to<00:03:38.985> think<00:03:39.226> about<00:03:39.530> who<00:03:39.626> they're<00:03:39.771> bringing<00:03:40.091> on<00:03:40.187> their<00:03:40.348> cap<00:03:40.652> table<00:03:41.229> and<00:03:41.373> not<00:03:41.550> just<00:03:41.710> like<00:03:42.175> a<00:03:42.255> quick<00:03:42.431> shiny<00:03:42.752> check<00:03:43.088> from<00:03:43.297> the<00:03:43.377> first<00:03:43.633> person<00:03:43.938> that<00:03:44.034> wants<00:03:44.259> to<00:03:44.339> give<00:03:44.451> you<00:03:44.515> a<00:03:44.595> term<00:03:44.820> sheet<00:03:45.060> and<00:03:45.156> the<00:03:45.236> right<00:03:45.477> valuation.
00:03:46.663 --> 00:03:48.121
Uh,<00:03:46.695> so<00:03:46.839> you<00:03:46.983> can<00:03:47.064> kind<00:03:47.240> of<00:03:47.320> get<00:03:47.464> back<00:03:47.657> to<00:03:47.785> work.
00:03:48.202 --> 00:03:52.770
I<00:03:48.218> think<00:03:48.426> founders<00:03:49.308> are<00:03:49.404> becoming<00:03:49.724> much<00:03:50.029> more<00:03:50.125> thoughtful<00:03:50.606> about<00:03:50.846> that<00:03:51.023> and<00:03:51.151> it,<00:03:51.247> and<00:03:51.407> it's<00:03:51.712> really<00:03:51.904> smart<00:03:52.369> to<00:03:52.513> do<00:03:52.625> so.
00:03:52.930 --> 00:03:58.085
I<00:03:53.010> think<00:03:53.186> it<00:03:53.315> benefits<00:03:53.812> the<00:03:53.972> win<00:03:54.374> significantly<00:03:55.402> and<00:03:55.884> a<00:03:55.900> much<00:03:56.205> more<00:03:56.366> pleasant<00:03:57.185> journey<00:03:57.506> along<00:03:57.812> the<00:03:57.892> way.
00:03:58.310 --> 00:03:58.454
Yeah.
00:03:58.550 --> 00:04:02.004
Somebody<00:03:58.856> who<00:03:59.257> you<00:03:59.338> can<00:03:59.916> actually<00:04:00.221> call<00:04:00.542> and<00:04:00.639> they<00:04:00.799> actually<00:04:01.121> have<00:04:01.362> been<00:04:01.506> there<00:04:01.667> before.
00:04:02.406 --> 00:04:03.498
The<00:04:02.486> value<00:04:02.807> of<00:04:02.888> that<00:04:03.129> is<00:04:03.273> insane.
00:04:03.852 --> 00:04:05.072
It's,<00:04:04.173> it's<00:04:04.334> beautiful<00:04:04.735> actually.
00:04:05.844 --> 00:04:08.526
Um,<00:04:06.084> I<00:04:06.181> wonder<00:04:06.663> how<00:04:06.823> have<00:04:06.984> you,<00:04:07.305> how<00:04:07.434> are<00:04:07.530> you<00:04:07.691> curating<00:04:08.189> this<00:04:08.350> community?
00:04:08.574 --> 00:04:21.249
How<00:04:08.671> are<00:04:08.896> you<00:04:09.056> curating<00:04:10.197> the,<00:04:10.920> the<00:04:11.466> app,<00:04:11.835> getting<00:04:12.125> the<00:04:12.269> right<00:04:12.526> people<00:04:12.847> in<00:04:12.928> there<00:04:13.169> that<00:04:13.474> I<00:04:13.731> imagine<00:04:14.133> like<00:04:14.357> on<00:04:14.534> your<00:04:14.839> end<00:04:15.112> and<00:04:15.177> on<00:04:15.337> like<00:04:15.643> the<00:04:15.739> community<00:04:16.365> ecosystem<00:04:16.944> and<00:04:17.088> app<00:04:17.345> end,<00:04:18.132> that's<00:04:18.373> kind<00:04:18.534> of<00:04:18.630> a<00:04:18.711> big<00:04:18.952> piece<00:04:19.193> of<00:04:19.337> it<00:04:19.418> is<00:04:19.498> like<00:04:19.675> making<00:04:19.916> sure<00:04:20.157> that<00:04:20.301> it's<00:04:20.478> the<00:04:20.638> right<00:04:20.944> people.
00:04:21.426 --> 00:04:21.746
Yeah.
00:04:21.842 --> 00:04:29.395
And<00:04:22.147> you<00:04:22.227> know,<00:04:22.388> when<00:04:22.548> I<00:04:22.644> think<00:04:22.885> of<00:04:23.029> this<00:04:23.205> curation,<00:04:24.312> I<00:04:24.344> said<00:04:24.568> this<00:04:24.681> to<00:04:24.745> someone<00:04:24.969> the<00:04:25.050> other<00:04:25.162> day,<00:04:25.434> it's<00:04:25.611> not<00:04:25.835> like<00:04:26.076> a,<00:04:26.589> it's<00:04:26.797> not<00:04:26.958> meant<00:04:27.198> to<00:04:27.294> be<00:04:27.375> like<00:04:27.535> a,<00:04:27.679> you<00:04:27.776> can't<00:04:28.032> sit<00:04:28.257> with<00:04:28.481> us,<00:04:28.658> you<00:04:28.754> know,<00:04:28.882> kind<00:04:29.123> of<00:04:29.283> thing.
00:04:29.523 --> 00:04:44.933
It's<00:04:29.924> really<00:04:30.117> more<00:04:30.486> of<00:04:30.662> the<00:04:30.806> idea<00:04:31.448> that<00:04:32.105> we<00:04:32.265> want<00:04:32.410> to<00:04:32.506> make<00:04:32.666> sure<00:04:33.612> when<00:04:33.789> we<00:04:33.933> write<00:04:34.110> a<00:04:34.158> million<00:04:34.430> dollar<00:04:34.671> check<00:04:34.991> to<00:04:35.136> a<00:04:35.152> company<00:04:35.633> and<00:04:35.793> it's<00:04:36.146> 20<00:04:36.419> founders<00:04:36.820> behind<00:04:37.076> the<00:04:37.156> scenes,<00:04:37.541> that<00:04:37.637> it's<00:04:37.798> folk<00:04:37.958> that<00:04:38.054> can<00:04:38.199> be<00:04:38.824> very<00:04:39.081> value<00:04:39.465> add<00:04:39.642> and<00:04:39.722> that<00:04:39.882> continues<00:04:40.444> to<00:04:40.668> reaffirm<00:04:41.229> why<00:04:41.277> founders<00:04:41.887> pick<00:04:42.047> us,<00:04:42.352> you<00:04:42.384> know,<00:04:42.608> and<00:04:42.753> carve<00:04:42.993> out<00:04:43.105> space<00:04:43.490> and<00:04:43.651> oversubscribe<00:04:44.212> deals<00:04:44.517> for<00:04:44.677> us.
00:04:45.479 --> 00:04:52.758
And<00:04:45.575> so<00:04:45.735> the<00:04:45.815> thought<00:04:46.040> process<00:04:46.858> of<00:04:47.002> who<00:04:47.098> we're<00:04:47.259> thinking<00:04:47.579> about<00:04:47.756> initially<00:04:48.782> are<00:04:48.862> mostly,<00:04:49.904> you<00:04:50.000> know,<00:04:50.128> like<00:04:50.289> I<00:04:50.321> mentioned,<00:04:51.106> C-suite<00:04:52.229> founders.

00:04:54.553 --> 00:04:56.685

00:04:58.144 --> 00:05:10.360
Really<00:04:58.400> people<00:04:58.721> that<00:04:58.801> have<00:04:58.946> had<00:04:59.122> to<00:04:59.218> navigate,<00:05:00.244> you<00:05:00.340> know,<00:05:00.661> across<00:05:01.350> all<00:05:01.382> sort<00:05:01.607> of<00:05:01.751> parts<00:05:02.007> of<00:05:02.152> business,<00:05:03.033> different,<00:05:04.252> different<00:05:04.797> challenges<00:05:05.839> and<00:05:05.999> have<00:05:06.111> acquired,<00:05:06.737> you<00:05:06.817> know,<00:05:06.977> really<00:05:07.121> incredible<00:05:07.554> skills<00:05:07.923> that<00:05:08.003> they<00:05:08.099> can<00:05:08.179> then<00:05:08.340> pass<00:05:08.644> along<00:05:09.302> in<00:05:09.446> terms<00:05:09.718> of<00:05:09.863> titles.
00:05:10.408 --> 00:05:15.906
Again,<00:05:10.648> it's<00:05:10.760> like,<00:05:10.969> I<00:05:11.001> don't<00:05:11.145> mind<00:05:11.369> if<00:05:11.450> someone's<00:05:11.786> a<00:05:11.802> social<00:05:12.267> media<00:05:12.492> director<00:05:12.892> from<00:05:13.069> a<00:05:13.085> huge,<00:05:13.470> you<00:05:13.566> know,<00:05:13.710> company<00:05:14.175> like<00:05:14.752> that's<00:05:14.976> something<00:05:15.233> that<00:05:15.361> can<00:05:15.409> be<00:05:15.553> value-add.
00:05:15.954 --> 00:05:28.792
It<00:05:16.034> doesn't<00:05:16.259> just<00:05:16.419> have<00:05:16.595> to<00:05:16.675> be<00:05:16.771> C-suite,<00:05:17.781> but<00:05:17.893> it's<00:05:18.118> really<00:05:18.422> us<00:05:18.598> thinking<00:05:18.919> about,<00:05:19.400> and<00:05:19.496> a<00:05:19.560> bit<00:05:19.704> more<00:05:19.817> of<00:05:19.881> an<00:05:20.041> art<00:05:20.201> than<00:05:20.361> a<00:05:20.378> science,<00:05:21.387> you<00:05:21.419> know,<00:05:21.804> who<00:05:22.044> should<00:05:22.285> be<00:05:23.086> in<00:05:23.230> the<00:05:23.327> fold,<00:05:24.064> you<00:05:24.128> know,<00:05:24.288> that<00:05:24.513> would<00:05:24.689> be<00:05:25.250> amazingly<00:05:25.795> valuable<00:05:26.147> to<00:05:26.292> company,<00:05:26.836> even<00:05:26.949> if<00:05:27.077> they<00:05:27.157> can<00:05:27.269> only<00:05:27.478> write<00:05:27.590> a<00:05:27.654> $10K<00:05:28.055> check,<00:05:28.680> right?
00:05:28.856 --> 00:05:35.443
Like<00:05:29.032> for<00:05:29.337> some<00:05:29.577> of<00:05:29.657> these<00:05:29.818> people,<00:05:30.106> like<00:05:30.218> that<00:05:30.443> $10K<00:05:30.859> check<00:05:31.180> is<00:05:31.260> worth<00:05:31.484> more<00:05:31.661> than,<00:05:32.125> you<00:05:32.157> know,<00:05:32.462> a<00:05:32.542> fund<00:05:32.783> giving<00:05:33.023> you<00:05:33.183> $1<00:05:33.376> million<00:05:33.728> and<00:05:34.065> not<00:05:34.289> adding<00:05:34.465> any<00:05:34.626> value,<00:05:35.267> right?
00:05:35.523 --> 00:05:40.251
Especially<00:05:35.972> a<00:05:35.988> lot<00:05:36.228> of<00:05:36.260> the<00:05:36.389> folks<00:05:36.709> that<00:05:37.495> are<00:05:37.591> operators<00:05:38.312> where,<00:05:38.857> again,<00:05:39.017> they<00:05:39.097> haven't<00:05:39.354> had<00:05:39.498> that<00:05:39.658> crazy<00:05:39.979> exit.
00:05:40.315 --> 00:05:43.489
Maybe<00:05:40.556> their<00:05:40.700> equity's,<00:05:41.437> their<00:05:41.581> net<00:05:41.742> worth<00:05:41.934> is<00:05:42.078> mostly<00:05:42.335> sitting<00:05:42.639> in<00:05:42.719> the<00:05:42.800> form<00:05:43.040> of<00:05:43.200> equity.
00:05:44.018 --> 00:05:50.873
So<00:05:44.162> they<00:05:44.307> could<00:05:44.467> only<00:05:44.644> invest<00:05:44.965> $15K,<00:05:46.008> but<00:05:46.169> they're<00:05:46.410> actually<00:05:46.795> even<00:05:46.972> more<00:05:47.116> valuable<00:05:47.517> than<00:05:47.678> someone<00:05:47.887> that<00:05:48.079> exited<00:05:48.416> 5<00:05:48.657> years<00:05:48.898> ago<00:05:49.364> because<00:05:49.637> they're<00:05:49.781> still<00:05:50.086> plugged<00:05:50.343> into<00:05:50.568> the<00:05:50.632> scene.
00:05:50.969 --> 00:05:52.061
They're<00:05:51.049> still<00:05:51.306> building<00:05:51.611> themselves.
00:05:52.109 --> 00:05:54.148
They<00:05:52.189> know<00:05:52.350> the<00:05:52.510> players,<00:05:52.976> they<00:05:53.072> know<00:05:53.168> the<00:05:53.297> partnerships.
00:05:54.517 --> 00:05:56.572
And<00:05:54.597> so<00:05:54.694> that's<00:05:54.918> how<00:05:55.015> we<00:05:55.159> think<00:05:55.320> about<00:05:55.561> curating<00:05:56.026> the<00:05:56.122> community.
00:05:57.086 --> 00:06:03.989
I<00:05:57.407> also<00:05:57.712> think<00:05:57.904> about<00:05:58.274> it<00:05:58.852> a<00:05:59.012> bit<00:05:59.237> less,<00:06:00.537> for<00:06:00.698> better<00:06:00.858> or<00:06:00.939> for<00:06:01.099> worse,<00:06:01.404> I<00:06:01.501> think<00:06:01.661> about<00:06:01.822> curating<00:06:02.143> the<00:06:02.223> community<00:06:02.689> less<00:06:02.945> in<00:06:03.026> a<00:06:03.090> transactional<00:06:03.748> way.
00:06:04.551 --> 00:06:07.810
It's<00:06:04.776> less<00:06:05.097> of<00:06:05.739> who<00:06:05.899> wants<00:06:06.156> to<00:06:06.317> angel<00:06:06.574> invest<00:06:06.863> right<00:06:06.975> now<00:06:07.136> in<00:06:07.280> companies.
00:06:08.067 --> 00:06:13.332
It's<00:06:08.243> more<00:06:08.404> so<00:06:08.564> like,<00:06:09.030> who<00:06:09.110> are<00:06:09.190> the<00:06:09.287> really<00:06:09.447> smart<00:06:09.768> people<00:06:10.330> that<00:06:10.427> are<00:06:10.555> plugged<00:06:10.828> into<00:06:11.037> this<00:06:11.294> ecosystem<00:06:11.936> that<00:06:12.080> should<00:06:12.257> be<00:06:12.353> sitting<00:06:12.642> at<00:06:12.722> the<00:06:12.819> table<00:06:13.140> here?
00:06:13.670 --> 00:06:19.681
Because<00:06:14.006> regardless<00:06:14.423> of<00:06:14.503> whether<00:06:14.711> or<00:06:14.744> not<00:06:14.920> someone<00:06:15.609> is<00:06:15.705> actively<00:06:16.186> angel<00:06:16.427> investing<00:06:16.859> now,<00:06:17.693> like,<00:06:18.270> you<00:06:18.366> should<00:06:18.575> see<00:06:18.671> the<00:06:18.751> deals<00:06:18.975> that<00:06:19.072> we're<00:06:19.232> backing.
00:06:20.066 --> 00:06:23.608
Maybe<00:06:20.354> there's<00:06:20.514> partnership<00:06:20.931> opportunities,<00:06:21.636> maybe<00:06:21.877> there's<00:06:22.294> a<00:06:22.358> potential<00:06:22.743> customer<00:06:23.223> of<00:06:23.304> yours.

They<00:06:44.816> might<00:06:45.024> be<00:06:45.105> able<00:06:45.201> to<00:06:45.345> give<00:06:45.441> really<00:06:45.570> really<00:06:45.730> interesting<00:06:45.987> feedback.
00:06:46.726 --> 00:06:48.251
They<00:06:46.822> may<00:06:46.967> be<00:06:47.047> able<00:06:47.272> to<00:06:47.352> do<00:06:47.448> partnerships.
00:06:48.396 --> 00:06:52.523
Um,<00:06:49.038> so<00:06:49.199> it's<00:06:49.311> a<00:06:49.440> very—<00:06:50.018> I<00:06:50.034> need<00:06:50.259> a<00:06:50.339> better<00:06:50.580> word<00:06:50.740> for<00:06:50.805> this—<00:06:50.869> it's<00:06:50.997> a<00:06:51.061> very<00:06:51.222> incestuous<00:06:52.009> ecosystem.
00:06:52.651 --> 00:06:55.221
There's<00:06:52.812> so<00:06:52.988> many<00:06:53.229> ways<00:06:53.551> that<00:06:53.711> value<00:06:54.096> ends<00:06:54.273> up<00:06:54.418> being<00:06:54.659> created.
00:06:55.702 --> 00:06:57.726
Um,<00:06:56.280> so<00:06:56.441> that's<00:06:56.666> how<00:06:56.762> we're<00:06:56.923> thinking<00:06:57.244> about<00:06:57.549> it.
00:06:58.031 --> 00:06:59.348
And<00:06:58.207> how,<00:06:58.464> how<00:06:58.609> does<00:06:59.026> it<00:06:59.155> work?
00:06:59.412 --> 00:07:03.619
Like,<00:06:59.588> it's—<00:06:59.877> is<00:07:00.054> it<00:07:00.118> structured<00:07:00.536> like<00:07:00.713> a<00:07:00.761> normal<00:07:01.098> fund,<00:07:01.596> or<00:07:01.724> is<00:07:01.837> it<00:07:01.917> like—<00:07:02.447> what<00:07:02.543> are<00:07:02.607> these<00:07:02.784> called—<00:07:03.025> SPVs?
00:07:04.149 --> 00:07:08.950
Or,<00:07:04.615> um,<00:07:05.578> uh,<00:07:06.060> kind<00:07:06.237> of<00:07:06.317> like,<00:07:06.622> uh,<00:07:07.505> what,<00:07:07.762> what<00:07:07.907> you<00:07:07.987> do<00:07:08.148> inside<00:07:08.404> of<00:07:08.549> AngelList?
00:07:09.047 --> 00:07:10.428
Like,<00:07:09.191> how<00:07:09.304> does<00:07:09.529> it,<00:07:09.834> how<00:07:09.994> does<00:07:10.155> it<00:07:10.315> work?
00:07:10.492 --> 00:07:12.435
Yeah,<00:07:10.669> so<00:07:10.958> it<00:07:11.295> is<00:07:11.440> individual<00:07:12.002> SPV.
00:07:12.499 --> 00:07:15.326
So,<00:07:12.965> A,<00:07:13.463> you<00:07:13.543> know,<00:07:13.704> the<00:07:13.784> community<00:07:14.105> is<00:07:14.266> curated,<00:07:15.069> right?
00:07:15.390 --> 00:07:17.573
So<00:07:15.872> That's<00:07:16.096> sort<00:07:16.273> of<00:07:16.417> like<00:07:16.594> one<00:07:16.835> piece<00:07:17.155> of<00:07:17.300> it,<00:07:17.460> right?
00:07:17.621 --> 00:07:20.028
So<00:07:17.717> really<00:07:17.942> thoughtful<00:07:18.295> on<00:07:18.439> who<00:07:18.584> we're,<00:07:18.985> you<00:07:19.017> know,<00:07:19.386> putting<00:07:19.547> into<00:07:19.707> the<00:07:19.787> fold.
00:07:20.108 --> 00:07:26.704
But<00:07:20.205> again,<00:07:20.606> accredited<00:07:20.991> investors<00:07:21.505> that<00:07:21.585> can<00:07:21.874> add<00:07:22.034> value,<00:07:22.452> that<00:07:22.548> are<00:07:22.692> mostly<00:07:23.013> plugged<00:07:23.270> into<00:07:23.495> this<00:07:23.671> ecosystem<00:07:24.281> as<00:07:24.442> operators,<00:07:25.501> we'd<00:07:25.645> love<00:07:25.822> to<00:07:25.966> have<00:07:26.207> you,<00:07:26.383> right?
00:07:27.170 --> 00:07:29.031
Um,<00:07:27.507> I<00:07:27.587> think<00:07:27.748> that's<00:07:27.988> sort<00:07:28.133> of<00:07:28.229> one<00:07:28.470> piece<00:07:28.711> of<00:07:28.935> it.
00:07:29.497 --> 00:07:44.374
Um,<00:07:29.914> and<00:07:30.139> then<00:07:30.636> in<00:07:30.781> terms<00:07:31.262> of<00:07:31.744> the<00:07:31.824> structure,<00:07:32.787> we're<00:07:33.044> very<00:07:33.365> thoughtfully<00:07:34.424> set<00:07:34.713> up<00:07:34.873> as<00:07:35.066> individual<00:07:35.756> SPVs<00:07:36.655> because,<00:07:37.585> hey,<00:07:38.484> once<00:07:38.661> you<00:07:38.741> do<00:07:38.821> a<00:07:38.901> fund,<00:07:39.768> very<00:07:40.089> hard<00:07:40.426> to<00:07:40.522> make<00:07:40.827> it<00:07:40.972> work<00:07:41.148> to<00:07:41.244> take<00:07:41.549> less<00:07:41.854> than<00:07:42.496> I<00:07:42.512> mentioned<00:07:42.817> like<00:07:42.994> $250K<00:07:43.652> minimum<00:07:44.101> checks.
00:07:44.438 --> 00:07:44.534
Yeah.
00:07:44.598 --> 00:07:48.369
Just<00:07:44.903> even<00:07:45.080> like<00:07:45.304> from<00:07:45.481> a<00:07:45.545> regulatory<00:07:45.978> standpoint,<00:07:46.508> it<00:07:46.540> starts<00:07:46.989> triggering<00:07:47.407> things<00:07:47.647> or<00:07:47.728> whatnot,<00:07:48.113> right?
00:07:48.851 --> 00:07:58.094
I<00:07:48.931> think<00:07:49.172> the<00:07:49.316> other<00:07:49.493> piece<00:07:49.733> of<00:07:49.830> it<00:07:49.958> though<00:07:50.135> here<00:07:50.439> is<00:07:51.001> to<00:07:51.178> allow<00:07:51.723> individual<00:07:52.221> SPVs<00:07:52.943> is<00:07:53.167> to<00:07:53.264> allow<00:07:53.585> the<00:07:53.665> freedom<00:07:54.692> for<00:07:55.013> people<00:07:55.350> to<00:07:55.494> be<00:07:55.574> able<00:07:55.735> to<00:07:55.911> pick<00:07:56.136> and<00:07:56.232> choose<00:07:56.618> what<00:07:56.714> they<00:07:56.858> wanna<00:07:57.115> lean<00:07:57.340> into,<00:07:57.901> right?
00:07:58.158 --> 00:08:06.342
And<00:07:58.238> so<00:07:59.041> I<00:07:59.137> may<00:07:59.362> be<00:07:59.522> a<00:07:59.538> D2C<00:08:00.244> founder<00:08:01.111> and<00:08:01.271> have<00:08:02.170> a<00:08:02.314> real<00:08:02.491> perspective<00:08:03.598> on,<00:08:04.240> you<00:08:04.320> know,<00:08:04.497> this<00:08:04.657> particular<00:08:05.138> space<00:08:05.556> around<00:08:05.941> SEO.
00:08:06.422 --> 00:08:09.263
Like<00:08:06.583> I've<00:08:06.743> seen<00:08:06.984> the<00:08:07.080> other<00:08:07.225> players,<00:08:08.107> I<00:08:08.123> know<00:08:08.348> the<00:08:08.444> problem<00:08:08.813> they're<00:08:08.909> solving.
00:08:09.311 --> 00:08:13.405
Like<00:08:09.696> I<00:08:09.792> wanna<00:08:10.033> put<00:08:10.354> $50K<00:08:10.740> into<00:08:10.916> this<00:08:11.077> company,<00:08:11.558> but<00:08:11.703> I<00:08:11.799> only<00:08:11.960> wanna<00:08:12.201> put<00:08:12.361> $10K<00:08:12.683> into<00:08:12.923> this<00:08:13.084> company.
00:08:13.726 --> 00:08:18.736
And<00:08:13.871> maybe<00:08:14.112> a<00:08:14.128> bunch<00:08:14.369> of<00:08:14.449> companies<00:08:15.027> I'm<00:08:15.171> gonna<00:08:15.332> sit<00:08:15.557> out<00:08:15.733> 'cause<00:08:15.894> it's<00:08:16.038> not<00:08:16.135> kind<00:08:16.311> of<00:08:16.376> where<00:08:16.488> I'm<00:08:16.681> allocating,<00:08:17.484> you<00:08:17.516> know,<00:08:17.885> discretionary<00:08:18.463> income.
00:08:19.105 --> 00:08:25.239
Like<00:08:19.346> that<00:08:19.603> flexibility<00:08:20.872> generally<00:08:21.337> does<00:08:21.514> not<00:08:21.691> exist<00:08:22.622> when<00:08:22.718> you're<00:08:22.799> talking<00:08:23.184> about<00:08:23.826> the<00:08:23.923> most<00:08:24.083> competitive<00:08:24.565> deals<00:08:24.790> within<00:08:24.966> venture.
00:08:25.769 --> 00:08:32.353
I<00:08:25.849> think<00:08:26.074> there<00:08:26.171> are<00:08:26.251> a<00:08:26.331> lot<00:08:26.636> of,<00:08:27.295> you<00:08:27.391> know,<00:08:27.760> opportunities<00:08:28.322> there<00:08:28.403> with<00:08:28.579> crowd<00:08:28.820> equity<00:08:29.141> platforms<00:08:29.719> and<00:08:29.784> whatnot<00:08:30.249> where<00:08:30.362> like<00:08:30.586> everyone<00:08:30.908> can<00:08:31.068> put<00:08:31.181> in<00:08:31.293> kind<00:08:31.470> of<00:08:31.534> small<00:08:31.791> checks.
00:08:32.979 --> 00:08:34.087
And<00:08:33.140> those<00:08:33.380> are<00:08:33.477> amazing.
00:08:34.681 --> 00:08:42.348
I<00:08:34.777> think<00:08:35.082> the<00:08:35.163> kind<00:08:35.484> of<00:08:35.564> deals<00:08:35.789> that<00:08:35.885> we're<00:08:36.030> focused<00:08:36.431> on<00:08:36.544> are<00:08:36.624> mostly,<00:08:37.716> you<00:08:37.812> know,<00:08:38.357> maybe<00:08:38.533> SaaS<00:08:38.854> and<00:08:38.934> consumer<00:08:39.335> tech<00:08:39.495> deals<00:08:39.896> alongside<00:08:40.537> like<00:08:40.777> literally<00:08:41.322> tier<00:08:41.563> 1<00:08:41.803> funds.
00:08:42.541 --> 00:08:46.148
You<00:08:42.621> know,<00:08:42.717> we've<00:08:43.166> co-invested<00:08:43.583> with<00:08:43.743> Upfront<00:08:44.160> and<00:08:44.785> Sequoia<00:08:45.266> and<00:08:45.442> Sierra.
00:08:46.228 --> 00:08:51.357
And<00:08:46.324> so<00:08:46.693> it's<00:08:46.853> typically<00:08:47.254> not<00:08:47.494> the<00:08:47.590> deals<00:08:47.895> you<00:08:47.975> would<00:08:48.071> have<00:08:48.376> access<00:08:48.712> to<00:08:49.177> unless<00:08:49.514> you<00:08:49.578> were<00:08:49.674> an<00:08:49.834> institution<00:08:50.299> writing<00:08:50.620> bigger<00:08:50.860> checks.
00:08:51.502 --> 00:09:00.943
Um,<00:08:51.918> but<00:08:52.079> we're<00:08:52.303> typically<00:08:52.720> the<00:08:52.864> exception<00:08:53.602> because<00:08:54.066> of,<00:08:54.708> you<00:08:54.740> know,<00:08:55.124> the<00:08:55.846> bench<00:08:56.102> of<00:08:56.247> support<00:08:56.567> that<00:08:56.711> you<00:08:56.872> end<00:08:57.032> up<00:08:57.144> getting<00:08:57.689> with<00:08:57.850> the<00:08:57.930> people<00:08:58.186> that<00:08:58.314> end<00:08:58.475> up<00:08:58.587> actually<00:08:58.956> writing<00:08:59.212> the<00:08:59.276> checks,<00:08:59.837> uh,<00:09:00.078> and<00:09:00.174> their<00:09:00.270> experiences.
00:09:01.136 --> 00:09:07.596
This<00:09:01.312> is<00:09:01.392> probably<00:09:01.697> a<00:09:01.713> naive<00:09:02.178> and<00:09:02.258> dumb<00:09:02.562> question,<00:09:02.979> but,<00:09:03.284> um,<00:09:03.941> why<00:09:04.181> build<00:09:04.406> your<00:09:04.502> own<00:09:04.662> app<00:09:04.967> versus<00:09:05.288> like<00:09:05.528> what<00:09:05.768> already<00:09:06.009> exists,<00:09:06.346> like<00:09:06.666> in<00:09:07.211> AngelList?
00:09:07.692 --> 00:09:15.803
Like<00:09:07.852> what,<00:09:08.013> what<00:09:08.173> would<00:09:08.429> be<00:09:08.510> the<00:09:08.670> difference<00:09:09.231> between<00:09:10.898> just,<00:09:11.074> I<00:09:11.155> imagine<00:09:11.459> there's<00:09:11.635> people<00:09:11.860> who<00:09:12.020> like<00:09:12.197> have<00:09:12.597> invested<00:09:13.238> in,<00:09:13.463> in<00:09:13.639> these<00:09:13.800> types<00:09:14.040> of<00:09:14.120> things<00:09:14.425> through<00:09:14.585> AngelList<00:09:15.018> or<00:09:15.082> other<00:09:15.322> groups.
00:09:15.883 --> 00:09:19.651
Like,<00:09:16.348> um,<00:09:16.701> can<00:09:16.845> you<00:09:16.990> kind<00:09:17.102> of<00:09:17.230> explain<00:09:17.567> like<00:09:18.128> the<00:09:18.288> difference<00:09:18.689> between<00:09:19.009> tho—<00:09:19.410> that?
00:09:19.955 --> 00:09:23.706
The<00:09:20.051> purpose<00:09:20.436> for<00:09:20.532> building<00:09:20.917> the<00:09:21.157> app,<00:09:21.799> you<00:09:21.879> know,<00:09:22.055> and<00:09:22.199> I<00:09:22.279> guess<00:09:22.456> just<00:09:22.680> to<00:09:22.760> even<00:09:22.937> take<00:09:23.177> a<00:09:23.193> step<00:09:23.482> back.
00:09:23.754 --> 00:09:27.553
So<00:09:24.379> we've<00:09:24.540> backed<00:09:24.844> 24<00:09:25.405> companies<00:09:25.998> since<00:09:26.303> December<00:09:26.768> of<00:09:26.864> 2020.
00:09:27.666 --> 00:09:29.221
Like<00:09:27.970> average<00:09:28.291> check<00:09:28.467> is<00:09:28.563> around<00:09:28.804> a<00:09:28.868> million.
00:09:29.285 --> 00:09:33.404
So<00:09:29.429> like<00:09:29.653> we've<00:09:29.894> put<00:09:30.631> decent<00:09:30.952> amount<00:09:31.256> of,<00:09:31.497> of<00:09:31.609> money<00:09:31.833> to<00:09:31.994> work<00:09:32.234> backing<00:09:32.555> incredible<00:09:32.956> companies.
00:09:33.517 --> 00:09:45.122
I<00:09:33.597> think<00:09:33.757> the<00:09:33.837> purpose<00:09:34.318> for<00:09:34.462> the<00:09:34.703> app<00:09:34.959> and<00:09:35.039> why<00:09:35.200> we<00:09:35.296> spent<00:09:35.601> really<00:09:35.841> a<00:09:35.985> year<00:09:36.146> head<00:09:36.402> down<00:09:37.043> iterating<00:09:37.909> and<00:09:38.069> creating<00:09:38.470> like<00:09:38.630> the<00:09:38.726> best<00:09:38.983> UI<00:09:39.191> experiences<00:09:40.089> for<00:09:40.313> our<00:09:40.474> community<00:09:41.371> to<00:09:41.516> stay<00:09:41.772> engaged,<00:09:42.494> there's<00:09:42.878> really<00:09:43.119> a<00:09:43.135> need<00:09:43.359> to<00:09:43.439> have<00:09:43.632> a<00:09:43.776> tech<00:09:44.097> home,<00:09:44.818> right?
00:09:45.203 --> 00:09:50.092
And<00:09:45.299> so<00:09:45.700> when<00:09:45.860> you<00:09:46.084> do<00:09:46.245> log<00:09:46.485> into<00:09:46.677> this<00:09:46.966> app,<00:09:47.383> you<00:09:47.479> know,<00:09:47.687> once<00:09:47.928> you're<00:09:48.168> approved,<00:09:48.649> which<00:09:48.761> is<00:09:48.890> not<00:09:49.050> a<00:09:49.066> long,<00:09:49.306> weird<00:09:49.467> process,<00:09:50.012> right?
00:09:50.172 --> 00:09:55.157
Like<00:09:50.332> we're<00:09:50.412> essentially<00:09:50.893> asking<00:09:51.150> like,<00:09:51.454> put<00:09:51.551> your<00:09:51.695> LinkedIn,<00:09:52.737> you<00:09:52.769> know,<00:09:53.138> confirm<00:09:53.490> you're<00:09:53.634> accredited,<00:09:54.516> we<00:09:54.660> will<00:09:54.821> let<00:09:54.981> you<00:09:55.045> know.
00:09:55.622 --> 00:09:55.895
Right?
00:09:56.023 --> 00:09:57.498
Um,<00:09:56.279> so<00:09:56.376> not<00:09:56.680> a<00:09:56.744> ton<00:09:56.921> of<00:09:57.001> friction<00:09:57.386> there.
00:09:57.562 --> 00:09:58.492
And<00:09:57.642> we're<00:09:57.786> also<00:09:58.027> very<00:09:58.267> thoughtful.
00:09:58.540 --> 00:10:02.211
Like<00:09:58.588> there's<00:09:58.844> not<00:09:58.989> a<00:09:59.021> membership<00:09:59.550> fee,<00:09:59.742> there's<00:09:59.918> not<00:10:00.047> a<00:10:00.095> minimum<00:10:00.431> amount<00:10:00.752> you<00:10:00.832> have<00:10:00.992> to<00:10:01.088> commit<00:10:01.489> to<00:10:01.569> invest<00:10:01.986> a<00:10:02.050> year.
00:10:02.355 --> 00:10:03.701
Like<00:10:02.916> I<00:10:02.932> don't<00:10:03.076> want<00:10:03.172> that<00:10:03.333> friction.
00:10:03.830 --> 00:10:07.148
I<00:10:03.958> just<00:10:04.118> want<00:10:04.198> like<00:10:04.359> the<00:10:04.519> best<00:10:04.775> people,<00:10:05.401> you<00:10:05.433> know,<00:10:05.657> that<00:10:05.753> again,<00:10:06.058> can<00:10:06.218> back<00:10:06.459> the<00:10:06.539> best<00:10:06.763> companies.
00:10:07.324 --> 00:10:12.229
Um,<00:10:07.741> and<00:10:07.821> so<00:10:08.046> for<00:10:08.366> us<00:10:08.703> to<00:10:08.863> build<00:10:09.104> this<00:10:09.408> app,<00:10:09.985> it<00:10:10.049> was<00:10:10.290> more<00:10:10.402> so<00:10:10.562> like,<00:10:10.771> what's<00:10:10.947> the<00:10:11.011> experience<00:10:11.508> you<00:10:11.588> wanna<00:10:11.893> offer?
00:10:12.310 --> 00:10:16.445
So<00:10:12.630> if<00:10:12.774> you<00:10:12.951> are<00:10:13.095> building<00:10:13.320> this<00:10:13.512> amazing<00:10:13.832> community<00:10:14.474> and<00:10:14.554> you<00:10:14.698> want<00:10:14.874> them<00:10:15.019> to<00:10:15.115> see<00:10:15.435> the<00:10:15.580> deals<00:10:15.820> that<00:10:15.916> we're<00:10:16.077> backing.
00:10:16.558 --> 00:10:22.024
But<00:10:16.702> then<00:10:16.798> you<00:10:17.022> also<00:10:17.279> want<00:10:17.423> to<00:10:17.519> customize<00:10:18.096> and<00:10:18.241> see,<00:10:19.187> you<00:10:19.267> know,<00:10:19.908> asks<00:10:20.245> from,<00:10:20.645> from<00:10:21.030> founders,<00:10:21.671> right?
00:10:22.088 --> 00:10:33.421
Like<00:10:22.328> to<00:10:22.489> be<00:10:22.569> able<00:10:22.793> to<00:10:22.970> really<00:10:23.210> get<00:10:23.354> a<00:10:23.435> push<00:10:23.675> notification<00:10:24.476> and<00:10:24.589> see<00:10:24.813> like,<00:10:25.358> hey,<00:10:26.240> who<00:10:26.416> knows<00:10:26.993> someone<00:10:27.378> at<00:10:27.522> this<00:10:27.699> level<00:10:28.260> at<00:10:28.356> Skims<00:10:28.821> or<00:10:28.885> at<00:10:29.045> Everlane,<00:10:30.007> you<00:10:30.071> know,<00:10:30.344> who<00:10:30.584> can<00:10:30.728> really<00:10:30.905> help<00:10:31.145> think<00:10:31.385> through<00:10:32.427> building<00:10:32.812> out<00:10:32.892> a<00:10:32.908> sales<00:10:33.293> team?
00:10:33.469 --> 00:10:37.573
We're<00:10:33.614> looking<00:10:33.870> for<00:10:34.351> a<00:10:34.431> VP<00:10:34.752> of<00:10:34.976> growth,<00:10:35.537> but<00:10:35.858> they<00:10:35.938> have<00:10:36.114> to<00:10:36.162> have<00:10:36.339> kind<00:10:36.435> of<00:10:36.515> like<00:10:36.675> this<00:10:36.916> background.
00:10:38.022 --> 00:10:38.294
I<00:10:38.054> don't<00:10:38.214> know.
00:10:38.359 --> 00:10:41.565
I<00:10:38.375> mean,<00:10:38.663> I'm<00:10:38.823> swimming<00:10:39.176> in<00:10:39.320> like<00:10:39.561> emails<00:10:39.946> where<00:10:40.026> I'm<00:10:40.266> kind<00:10:40.378> of<00:10:40.507> drowning<00:10:40.923> a<00:10:41.004> bit,<00:10:41.388> you<00:10:41.468> know?
00:10:41.661 --> 00:10:56.120
So<00:10:42.046> like<00:10:42.350> to<00:10:42.446> be<00:10:42.687> able<00:10:42.847> to<00:10:42.991> have<00:10:43.248> an<00:10:43.328> experience<00:10:43.969> where<00:10:44.033> you're<00:10:44.194> getting<00:10:44.450> a<00:10:44.514> push<00:10:44.707> notification<00:10:45.220> for<00:10:45.492> that,<00:10:45.748> like<00:10:46.053> it's<00:10:46.229> such<00:10:46.518> a<00:10:46.550> smooth<00:10:47.015> experience,<00:10:47.656> it's<00:10:47.768> such<00:10:47.977> a<00:10:48.121> great<00:10:48.377> UI,<00:10:49.484> and<00:10:49.820> you're<00:10:49.980> able<00:10:50.205> to<00:10:50.381> really<00:10:50.622> see<00:10:51.583> basically<00:10:51.920> like<00:10:52.128> your<00:10:52.225> whole<00:10:52.449> like<00:10:53.026> alternative<00:10:53.507> investment<00:10:53.972> platform,<00:10:54.629> you<00:10:54.709> know,<00:10:54.870> on<00:10:55.030> one<00:10:55.335> dashboard<00:10:55.912> too.
00:10:57.418 --> 00:11:01.763
It's—<00:10:58.156> it<00:10:58.316> was<00:10:58.541> an<00:10:58.941> experience<00:10:59.518> that<00:10:59.663> was<00:10:59.839> worth<00:11:00.224> us<00:11:00.400> investing<00:11:00.945> in,<00:11:01.586> you<00:11:01.682> know.

00:11:07.998 --> 00:11:08.864
They<00:11:08.159> want<00:11:08.319> other<00:11:08.495> ways.
00:11:09.072 --> 00:11:14.875
Even<00:11:09.233> if<00:11:09.377> I<00:11:09.521> haven't<00:11:09.794> invested<00:11:10.178> in<00:11:10.259> this<00:11:10.451> specific<00:11:10.804> company,<00:11:11.461> maybe<00:11:11.765> I'm<00:11:11.926> open<00:11:12.166> to<00:11:12.487> all<00:11:12.647> of<00:11:12.727> the<00:11:12.823> companies<00:11:13.465> asking<00:11:13.785> me<00:11:13.946> for<00:11:14.090> advice,<00:11:14.651> right?
00:11:14.923 --> 00:11:19.060
Or,<00:11:15.452> or<00:11:15.725> seeing<00:11:16.110> kind<00:11:16.366> of<00:11:16.430> the<00:11:16.526> list<00:11:16.767> of<00:11:16.895> what<00:11:17.007> they're<00:11:17.617> looking<00:11:17.873> for<00:11:18.114> intro-wise,<00:11:18.900> right?
00:11:19.157 --> 00:11:29.936
And<00:11:19.253> so,<00:11:20.183> um,<00:11:20.584> that's<00:11:20.905> really<00:11:21.146> the<00:11:21.242> thought<00:11:21.499> of<00:11:21.707> it,<00:11:21.948> you<00:11:21.980> know,<00:11:22.189> to<00:11:22.365> really<00:11:22.686> be<00:11:22.830> a<00:11:22.926> great<00:11:23.151> home<00:11:23.408> to<00:11:23.504> supercharge<00:11:24.434> this<00:11:24.595> community<00:11:25.092> and<00:11:25.188> its<00:11:25.333> ability<00:11:26.038> not<00:11:26.215> just<00:11:26.359> to<00:11:26.455> back<00:11:26.696> amazing<00:11:27.017> companies,<00:11:27.659> but<00:11:27.803> to<00:11:27.899> help<00:11:28.124> support<00:11:28.541> them<00:11:29.006> for<00:11:29.182> that<00:11:29.407> larger<00:11:29.744> win.
00:11:30.081 --> 00:11:31.043
I<00:11:30.145> think<00:11:30.370> it's<00:11:30.546> brilliant.
00:11:31.107 --> 00:11:43.668
And<00:11:31.188> I<00:11:31.332> think,<00:11:31.813> yeah,<00:11:32.375> I<00:11:32.471> mean,<00:11:32.631> the<00:11:32.936> answer<00:11:33.129> is<00:11:33.209> so<00:11:33.433> clear<00:11:33.658> why<00:11:33.818> you<00:11:33.899> wouldn't<00:11:34.139> do<00:11:34.171> it<00:11:34.380> on<00:11:34.540> like<00:11:34.733> some<00:11:34.973> of<00:11:35.037> these<00:11:35.198> more,<00:11:35.824> uh,<00:11:36.465> you<00:11:36.497> know,<00:11:36.722> kind<00:11:36.898> of<00:11:37.027> plug-and-play<00:11:37.604> platforms,<00:11:38.310> because<00:11:38.486> you<00:11:38.711> are—<00:11:38.887> what<00:11:39.048> you're<00:11:39.208> building<00:11:39.545> is<00:11:39.689> a<00:11:39.770> community,<00:11:40.652> community<00:11:41.037> of<00:11:41.117> founders,<00:11:41.534> community<00:11:41.919> of<00:11:42.031> leaders,<00:11:42.497> community<00:11:42.882> of<00:11:42.962> entrepreneurs.
00:11:44.005 --> 00:11:51.824
And<00:11:44.502> to<00:11:44.727> do<00:11:44.903> that,<00:11:45.449> you<00:11:45.562> need<00:11:46.525> a<00:11:46.654> platform<00:11:47.553> or,<00:11:47.874> you<00:11:47.970> know,<00:11:48.131> in<00:11:48.275> this<00:11:48.436> case,<00:11:48.693> an<00:11:48.821> app<00:11:49.239> and<00:11:49.383> a<00:11:49.480> technology<00:11:50.122> hub<00:11:50.443> for<00:11:50.588> that<00:11:50.764> to<00:11:50.829> exist,<00:11:51.632> right?
00:11:51.888 --> 00:11:53.944
Like,<00:11:52.611> it<00:11:52.691> can't<00:11:52.852> just<00:11:53.077> be<00:11:53.237> through<00:11:53.414> emails.
00:11:54.361 --> 00:11:57.621
It's<00:11:54.939> just<00:11:55.180> a<00:11:55.196> much<00:11:55.502> better<00:11:55.726> experience<00:11:56.192> than<00:11:56.304> something<00:11:56.690> living<00:11:56.947> in<00:11:57.107> emails,<00:11:57.493> right?
00:11:57.734 --> 00:12:04.911
I<00:11:57.814> think<00:11:58.055> also<00:11:58.376> the<00:11:58.472> way<00:11:58.633> we<00:11:58.777> think<00:11:58.970> about<00:11:59.195> building<00:11:59.500> this<00:11:59.660> community,<00:12:00.158> which<00:12:00.319> is<00:12:00.463> very<00:12:00.720> organic,<00:12:01.427> which<00:12:01.587> has<00:12:01.684> happened<00:12:02.551> a<00:12:02.647> lot<00:12:02.888> through<00:12:03.209> like<00:12:03.771> YPO<00:12:04.237> channels,<00:12:04.799> right?
00:12:04.960 --> 00:12:07.513
And<00:12:05.281> places<00:12:05.682> where,<00:12:05.843> again,<00:12:06.100> there<00:12:06.148> are<00:12:06.180> already<00:12:06.485> pockets<00:12:06.838> of<00:12:06.967> communities.
00:12:07.770 --> 00:12:10.965
Once<00:12:08.011> you're<00:12:08.091> approved<00:12:08.428> to<00:12:08.508> be<00:12:08.653> on<00:12:08.749> the<00:12:08.974> app,<00:12:09.632> like,<00:12:10.018> you<00:12:10.114> have<00:12:10.194> your<00:12:10.355> own<00:12:10.435> invite<00:12:10.676> code.
00:12:11.062 --> 00:12:17.537
So<00:12:11.142> it's<00:12:11.238> very<00:12:11.479> easy<00:12:11.704> for<00:12:11.800> you<00:12:11.880> to<00:12:12.442> loop<00:12:12.602> in<00:12:12.746> other<00:12:12.907> people,<00:12:13.548> they<00:12:13.644> bypass<00:12:14.124> the<00:12:14.204> approval<00:12:14.605> process,<00:12:15.550> you<00:12:15.631> know,<00:12:15.823> like<00:12:16.031> to<00:12:16.127> kind<00:12:16.304> of<00:12:16.368> get<00:12:16.528> kind<00:12:16.704> of<00:12:16.768> front<00:12:16.945> of<00:12:17.009> the<00:12:17.089> line.
00:12:18.114 --> 00:12:27.135
It's<00:12:18.531> just<00:12:18.835> a<00:12:18.931> better,<00:12:19.348> like,<00:12:19.733> in<00:12:19.813> the<00:12:19.957> pocket<00:12:20.309> of<00:12:20.438> your<00:12:20.534> hand,<00:12:21.239> all-in-one<00:12:21.720> experience<00:12:23.001> versus<00:12:23.738> trying<00:12:23.979> to<00:12:24.059> figure<00:12:24.283> out<00:12:24.460> logins<00:12:25.084> and<00:12:25.341> emails<00:12:25.902> and,<00:12:26.543> you<00:12:26.623> know,<00:12:26.783> whatnot.
00:12:27.568 --> 00:12:28.337
Trying<00:12:27.744> to<00:12:27.808> simplify.
00:12:28.690 --> 00:12:33.128
Cleaner,<00:12:29.170> cleaner,<00:12:29.827> simpler,<00:12:30.773> better<00:12:31.654> on<00:12:31.814> all<00:12:31.910> fronts,<00:12:32.567> you<00:12:32.648> know,<00:12:32.856> is<00:12:32.936> the<00:12:32.968> intention.
00:12:33.192 --> 00:12:37.086
How<00:12:33.289> much<00:12:33.353> of<00:12:33.433> your<00:12:33.609> day<00:12:33.753> do<00:12:33.833> you<00:12:34.010> spend<00:12:34.859> trying<00:12:35.115> to<00:12:35.340> remember<00:12:35.676> passwords<00:12:36.477> and<00:12:36.637> logging<00:12:37.038> in?
00:12:37.262 --> 00:12:39.329
Like,<00:12:37.439> that<00:12:37.599> is<00:12:37.759> like<00:12:38.304> a<00:12:38.400> huge<00:12:38.785> part<00:12:38.961> of<00:12:39.201> my<00:12:39.297> day.
00:12:39.586 --> 00:12:40.451
I<00:12:39.666> use<00:12:39.906> 1Password.
00:12:40.628 --> 00:12:45.437
So<00:12:40.724> it's<00:12:40.804> like<00:12:40.980> if<00:12:41.061> someone,<00:12:41.766> if<00:12:41.862> someone<00:12:42.327> like<00:12:42.632> hacks<00:12:42.872> into<00:12:43.112> 1Password,<00:12:43.786> I<00:12:43.994> think<00:12:44.170> like<00:12:44.347> it's<00:12:44.555> going<00:12:44.715> to<00:12:44.796> be<00:12:44.908> terrible.
00:12:46.639 --> 00:12:48.034
But<00:12:46.735> yes,<00:12:47.136> listen,<00:12:47.681> for<00:12:47.777> sure.
00:12:48.322 --> 00:12:50.791
You<00:12:48.402> know,<00:12:48.483> I<00:12:48.659> think<00:12:48.883> all<00:12:48.979> of<00:12:49.060> our<00:12:49.220> emails<00:12:49.877> are<00:12:50.182> bombarded.
00:12:50.903 --> 00:12:55.664
And<00:12:50.999> so<00:12:51.705> I've<00:12:51.929> experienced<00:12:52.586> before<00:12:52.891> as<00:12:52.987> an<00:12:53.083> investor,<00:12:53.548> it's<00:12:53.708> like<00:12:53.933> I<00:12:54.013> want<00:12:54.173> to<00:12:54.269> add<00:12:54.430> value<00:12:54.734> to<00:12:54.766> certain<00:12:55.055> portfolio<00:12:55.392> companies.
00:12:55.712 --> 00:12:57.972
I'm<00:12:55.776> like,<00:12:55.937> oh<00:12:55.969> my<00:12:56.113> gosh,<00:12:56.353> wait,<00:12:56.514> there<00:12:56.610> was<00:12:56.914> an<00:12:57.139> update<00:12:57.395> that<00:12:57.556> went<00:12:57.716> through.
00:12:58.598 --> 00:12:59.335
What<00:12:58.694> did<00:12:58.838> they<00:12:58.934> need?
00:12:59.383 --> 00:13:00.682
Like,<00:12:59.624> who<00:12:59.784> do<00:12:59.864> they<00:12:59.960> need<00:13:00.120> to<00:13:00.217> speak<00:13:00.521> to?
00:13:00.922 --> 00:13:01.178
Right.
00:13:01.243 --> 00:13:11.181
And<00:13:01.323> so<00:13:01.483> I<00:13:01.643> think<00:13:01.868> the<00:13:01.964> ability<00:13:02.429> to<00:13:02.509> have<00:13:02.781> it<00:13:02.926> in<00:13:03.006> a<00:13:03.150> different<00:13:03.503> UI<00:13:04.609> and<00:13:04.689> the<00:13:04.785> ability<00:13:05.170> again<00:13:05.491> to<00:13:05.571> like<00:13:05.795> have<00:13:05.955> a<00:13:06.116> push<00:13:06.292> notification<00:13:06.917> that's<00:13:07.158> like,<00:13:07.879> oh,<00:13:07.975> CNAI<00:13:08.616> has<00:13:08.777> an<00:13:08.857> update<00:13:09.274> or<00:13:09.418> they're<00:13:09.562> looking<00:13:09.883> for<00:13:09.995> this<00:13:10.300> or<00:13:10.380> that<00:13:10.620> or<00:13:10.700> that.
00:13:11.486 --> 00:13:14.842
Um,<00:13:12.080> it's<00:13:12.289> just,<00:13:12.562> it's<00:13:12.819> just<00:13:12.963> a<00:13:13.011> much<00:13:13.268> more<00:13:13.365> fluid,<00:13:13.927> enjoyable<00:13:14.392> experience.
00:13:14.970 --> 00:13:15.789
So<00:13:15.131> that's<00:13:15.339> how<00:13:15.372> we're<00:13:15.596> doing<00:13:15.741> that.
00:13:15.837 --> 00:13:17.812
Can<00:13:15.982> people<00:13:16.239> direct<00:13:16.560> message<00:13:16.961> each<00:13:17.122> other<00:13:17.282> inside<00:13:17.619> of<00:13:17.748> it?
00:13:18.165 --> 00:13:19.305
Like<00:13:18.326> they<00:13:18.486> can<00:13:18.727> talk<00:13:18.968> to<00:13:19.048> each<00:13:19.209> other?
00:13:19.369 --> 00:13:21.007
No,<00:13:19.690> not<00:13:19.995> in<00:13:20.156> phase<00:13:20.557> 1.
00:13:21.200 --> 00:13:37.319
Um,<00:13:21.617> but<00:13:22.340> we,<00:13:22.885> you<00:13:22.966> know,<00:13:23.142> we<00:13:23.287> can<00:13:23.447> send<00:13:23.785> on<00:13:23.929> behalf<00:13:24.266> of<00:13:24.363> the<00:13:24.491> founders<00:13:25.262> like<00:13:25.551> updates,<00:13:26.257> uh,<00:13:26.594> founder<00:13:26.980> asks,<00:13:27.381> which<00:13:27.558> is<00:13:27.654> its<00:13:27.798> own<00:13:27.975> section,<00:13:29.147> you<00:13:29.179> know,<00:13:29.468> content<00:13:29.966> in<00:13:30.046> terms<00:13:30.431> of,<00:13:30.833> you<00:13:30.913> know,<00:13:31.315> bigger<00:13:31.555> updates<00:13:31.876> that<00:13:31.957> we<00:13:32.053> wanna<00:13:32.278> share,<00:13:32.454> not<00:13:32.695> just<00:13:32.856> with,<00:13:33.321> you<00:13:33.354> know,<00:13:33.578> the<00:13:33.659> subset<00:13:33.996> of<00:13:34.060> people<00:13:34.365> who<00:13:34.397> invested<00:13:34.782> in<00:13:34.863> that<00:13:34.959> company,<00:13:35.890> but<00:13:36.131> more<00:13:36.308> broadly<00:13:36.629> with<00:13:36.709> the<00:13:36.805> community.

00:13:39.904 --> 00:13:49.203
Um,<00:13:40.482> And<00:13:40.627> then<00:13:40.868> we'll<00:13:40.980> hopefully<00:13:41.366> be<00:13:41.446> doing<00:13:41.751> a<00:13:41.831> lot<00:13:42.072> more<00:13:42.313> to<00:13:42.490> bring<00:13:42.731> this<00:13:42.891> community<00:13:43.293> together<00:13:43.678> offline,<00:13:44.208> because<00:13:44.401> there's<00:13:44.514> so<00:13:44.674> many<00:13:44.963> ways<00:13:45.156> that<00:13:45.301> they<00:13:45.381> can<00:13:45.606> add<00:13:45.702> value<00:13:46.088> to<00:13:46.184> each<00:13:46.344> other<00:13:47.228> outside<00:13:47.565> of,<00:13:47.645> again,<00:13:48.192> you<00:13:48.224> know,<00:13:48.416> backing<00:13:48.770> each<00:13:48.914> other.
00:13:49.476 --> 00:14:09.855
I<00:13:49.492> think<00:13:49.701> just<00:13:49.878> the<00:13:50.039> other<00:13:50.279> piece<00:13:50.504> to<00:13:50.601> mention,<00:13:50.986> which<00:13:51.082> has<00:13:51.243> been<00:13:51.950> really<00:13:52.271> beautiful<00:13:52.673> to<00:13:52.769> see<00:13:53.010> organically<00:13:53.636> happen,<00:13:54.600> is<00:13:55.178> a<00:13:55.242> lot<00:13:55.403> of<00:13:55.580> deal<00:13:55.740> flow<00:13:56.045> then<00:13:56.206> comes<00:13:56.447> from<00:13:56.607> this<00:13:56.768> community<00:13:57.507> because,<00:13:58.454> you<00:13:58.551> know,<00:13:59.354> these<00:13:59.820> founders<00:14:00.542> are,<00:14:01.024> you<00:14:01.121> know,<00:14:01.265> have<00:14:01.378> their<00:14:01.586> own<00:14:01.908> tech<00:14:02.100> stacks,<00:14:02.630> right,<00:14:02.807> of<00:14:02.887> companies<00:14:03.353> that<00:14:03.449> they're<00:14:03.610> using,<00:14:04.156> and<00:14:04.718> they<00:14:04.895> will<00:14:05.377> flag<00:14:05.762> to<00:14:05.923> us<00:14:06.019> like,<00:14:06.244> hey,<00:14:06.806> This<00:14:06.983> company<00:14:07.769> has<00:14:08.010> been<00:14:08.186> killing<00:14:08.571> it<00:14:08.732> for<00:14:08.828> a<00:14:08.908> conversion<00:14:09.454> for<00:14:09.614> us.

They're<00:14:10.272> profitable<00:14:11.139> and<00:14:11.235> they're<00:14:11.476> bootstrapped,<00:14:11.877> you<00:14:11.958> know,<00:14:12.118> and<00:14:12.198> they're<00:14:12.359> bootstrapped<00:14:13.065> and<00:14:13.306> they<00:14:13.402> haven't<00:14:13.787> raised.
00:14:14.349 --> 00:14:18.537
And<00:14:14.429> like,<00:14:14.991> you<00:14:15.071> have<00:14:15.312> to<00:14:15.408> speak<00:14:15.649> to<00:14:15.745> them<00:14:15.954> because<00:14:16.210> if<00:14:16.291> you<00:14:16.435> do<00:14:16.595> a<00:14:16.628> deal,<00:14:16.948> like,<00:14:17.237> I<00:14:17.334> want<00:14:17.414> to<00:14:17.494> put<00:14:17.655> money<00:14:17.879> into<00:14:18.040> the<00:14:18.120> SPV.
00:14:18.618 --> 00:14:31.312

Again,<00:15:52.622> have<00:15:52.799> been<00:15:52.959> in<00:15:53.039> the<00:15:53.119> trenches,<00:15:53.984> stayed<00:15:54.241> up<00:15:54.401> all<00:15:54.433> night<00:15:54.625> worrying<00:15:54.866> about<00:15:55.042> payroll,<00:15:56.068> you<00:15:56.164> know,<00:15:56.260> like<00:15:56.789> know<00:15:56.965> what<00:15:57.125> that<00:15:57.349> feels<00:15:57.686> like.
00:15:58.086 --> 00:16:07.274
And<00:15:58.247> so<00:15:58.872> the<00:15:58.952> relationship<00:15:59.753> that<00:15:59.849> I<00:15:59.929> intend<00:16:00.330> to<00:16:00.474> have<00:16:01.836> with<00:16:02.077> the<00:16:02.157> founders<00:16:02.590> of<00:16:02.719> my<00:16:02.895> portfolio<00:16:03.456> companies,<00:16:04.162> which<00:16:04.499> much<00:16:04.643> of<00:16:04.740> them,<00:16:04.884> like,<00:16:05.060> they<00:16:05.221> know<00:16:05.381> they<00:16:05.461> can<00:16:05.622> text<00:16:05.943> me<00:16:06.023> like<00:16:06.408> any<00:16:06.584> time<00:16:06.889> of<00:16:06.985> the<00:16:07.065> night.
00:16:07.322 --> 00:16:09.247
I'm<00:16:07.386> like,<00:16:07.563> don't<00:16:07.707> worry,<00:16:08.060> my<00:16:08.124> notifications<00:16:08.733> are<00:16:08.766> turned<00:16:09.054> off.
00:16:09.776 --> 00:16:10.562
Anytime,<00:16:10.273> go<00:16:10.353> ahead.
00:16:11.781 --> 00:16:19.175
It's<00:16:11.941> just<00:16:12.118> the<00:16:12.262> kind<00:16:12.503> of<00:16:12.599> support<00:16:13.080> that<00:16:13.225> I<00:16:13.385> think<00:16:13.786> all<00:16:13.898> of<00:16:14.027> us<00:16:14.203> as<00:16:14.363> founders,<00:16:15.149> you<00:16:15.181> know,<00:16:15.631> have<00:16:15.951> wanted<00:16:17.411> and<00:16:17.491> some<00:16:17.716> have<00:16:17.876> had<00:16:18.133> and<00:16:18.213> some<00:16:18.438> haven't,<00:16:18.855> right?
00:16:19.239 --> 00:16:22.672
But<00:16:19.881> that's<00:16:20.218> the<00:16:20.378> beauty,<00:16:20.619> I<00:16:20.699> think,<00:16:21.084> of<00:16:21.196> this<00:16:21.325> shared<00:16:21.661> experience,<00:16:22.447> right?
00:16:22.768 --> 00:16:29.056
To<00:16:22.864> have<00:16:23.169> the<00:16:23.249> relationship<00:16:23.731> with<00:16:23.827> your<00:16:24.067> portfolio<00:16:24.549> company<00:16:25.030> founders<00:16:25.575> where<00:16:26.297> they<00:16:26.409> know<00:16:26.698> they<00:16:26.794> don't<00:16:27.019> only<00:16:27.195> have<00:16:27.372> to<00:16:27.500> tell<00:16:27.660> you<00:16:27.821> the<00:16:27.901> shiny<00:16:28.302> things,<00:16:28.783> right?
00:16:29.104 --> 00:16:31.383
Like<00:16:29.361> they,<00:16:29.842> they<00:16:30.067> want<00:16:30.404> to<00:16:30.564> loop<00:16:30.725> you<00:16:30.821> into<00:16:30.982> the<00:16:31.126> fold.
00:16:31.447 --> 00:16:35.638
They<00:16:31.528> know<00:16:31.769> you'll<00:16:32.009> understand<00:16:32.636> that<00:16:32.732> there's<00:16:32.973> again<00:16:33.310> a<00:16:33.374> fire<00:16:33.695> to<00:16:33.840> put<00:16:34.081> out,<00:16:34.337> right,<00:16:34.514> or<00:16:34.643> things<00:16:34.851> to<00:16:34.915> navigate.
00:16:36.666 --> 00:16:43.650
And<00:16:36.746> that's<00:16:36.987> really<00:16:37.227> impactful<00:16:37.934> because<00:16:38.656> you<00:16:38.817> want<00:16:39.042> to<00:16:39.154> be<00:16:39.315> able<00:16:39.539> to<00:16:39.700> help,<00:16:40.423> you<00:16:40.455> know,<00:16:40.760> versus<00:16:41.161> just<00:16:41.386> get<00:16:41.868> update<00:16:42.269> emails<00:16:42.686> every<00:16:42.927> 6<00:16:43.232> months.
00:16:43.714 --> 00:16:44.035
Right.
00:16:44.115 --> 00:16:50.329
And<00:16:44.725> listen,<00:16:44.998> everyone—<00:16:45.560> founders<00:16:45.994> navigate<00:16:46.459> their<00:16:46.620> own<00:16:47.021> insecurities<00:16:48.563> and<00:16:48.707> imposter<00:16:49.189> syndromes<00:16:49.815> and<00:16:49.911> whatnot.
00:16:50.409 --> 00:16:59.949
And<00:16:50.489> if<00:16:50.618> you<00:16:50.698> don't<00:16:50.859> have<00:16:50.955> the<00:16:51.035> kind<00:16:51.260> of<00:16:51.292> relationship<00:16:51.838> where<00:16:51.918> someone<00:16:52.223> can<00:16:52.304> be<00:16:52.464> vulnerable<00:16:52.866> with<00:16:53.026> you<00:16:53.444> because<00:16:53.620> they're<00:16:53.749> only<00:16:53.925> trying<00:16:54.166> to<00:16:54.246> share<00:16:54.632> like<00:16:54.792> the<00:16:54.873> shiny<00:16:55.210> stuff,<00:16:55.675> like<00:16:56.197> you're<00:16:56.294> not<00:16:56.440> going<00:16:56.521> to<00:16:56.618> be<00:16:56.699> able<00:16:56.860> to<00:16:57.006> help,<00:16:57.830> you<00:16:57.927> know,<00:16:58.154> before<00:16:58.477> it's<00:16:58.704> kind<00:16:58.801> of<00:16:58.881> too<00:16:58.978> late<00:16:59.189> to<00:16:59.286> help,<00:16:59.690> right?
00:16:59.997 --> 00:17:10.680
And<00:17:00.078> so,<00:17:01.048> um,<00:17:01.857> I<00:17:01.954> think<00:17:02.115> that<00:17:02.342> relationship<00:17:02.924> is<00:17:02.956> super<00:17:03.587> important,<00:17:04.605> um,<00:17:04.929> and<00:17:05.091> is<00:17:05.333> easier<00:17:05.657> to<00:17:05.770> develop<00:17:06.548> with<00:17:06.791> the<00:17:06.872> shared<00:17:07.131> experience<00:17:07.715> of<00:17:07.844> having,<00:17:08.492> you<00:17:08.573> know,<00:17:08.914> gone<00:17:09.238> through<00:17:09.465> the<00:17:09.546> entrepreneurial<00:17:10.032> journey<00:17:10.275> yourself.
00:17:10.858 --> 00:17:12.462
What<00:17:10.972> does<00:17:11.101> a<00:17:11.182> typical<00:17:11.587> day<00:17:11.814> look<00:17:11.976> like<00:17:12.219> for<00:17:12.317> you?
00:17:12.560 --> 00:17:14.177
Walk<00:17:12.803> us<00:17:12.949> through<00:17:13.111> a<00:17:14.016> day.
00:17:14.887 --> 00:17:22.583
Um,<00:17:15.807> okay,<00:17:16.500> I<00:17:16.597> would<00:17:16.758> say<00:17:17.565> on<00:17:17.710> average<00:17:18.049> I'm<00:17:18.275> waking<00:17:18.678> up,<00:17:19.195> say,<00:17:19.517> 7,<00:17:20.001> 7<00:17:20.453> AM,<00:17:21.114> unless<00:17:21.421> the<00:17:21.502> kids<00:17:21.760> wake<00:17:21.921> up<00:17:22.082> much<00:17:22.244> earlier.
00:17:22.647 --> 00:17:28.549
And<00:17:22.792> I've<00:17:22.970> definitely<00:17:23.213> had<00:17:23.531> like<00:17:23.699> my<00:17:23.799> two,<00:17:24.118> like<00:17:24.252> my<00:17:24.599> He<00:17:24.839> just<00:17:25.019> turned<00:17:25.299> 3,<00:17:25.839> woke<00:17:25.979> me<00:17:26.179> up<00:17:26.419> literally<00:17:26.659> with<00:17:26.819> his<00:17:26.999> head<00:17:27.219> in<00:17:27.479> my<00:17:27.559> face<00:17:27.819> this<00:17:27.999> morning.
00:17:28.779 --> 00:17:31.539
Hi,<00:17:29.759> I<00:17:30.279> need<00:17:30.459> to<00:17:30.599> go<00:17:30.959> poop.
00:17:31.539 --> 00:17:33.759
You<00:17:31.540> know,<00:17:31.859> I'm<00:17:31.979> like,<00:17:32.439> okay,<00:17:32.759> it's<00:17:32.959> early.
00:17:33.759 --> 00:17:35.369
All<00:17:33.779> right,<00:17:33.959> let's<00:17:34.319> do<00:17:34.619> it.
00:17:35.559 --> 00:17:37.519
Which<00:17:36.599> is<00:17:36.759> always<00:17:36.939> fun.
00:17:37.519 --> 00:17:45.419
But<00:17:37.599> I<00:17:37.699> would<00:17:37.899> say,<00:17:38.299> you<00:17:38.300> know,<00:17:38.539> typically<00:17:38.759> waking<00:17:39.039> up<00:17:39.299> kind<00:17:39.499> of<00:17:39.519> around<00:17:39.859> 7,<00:17:40.999> really<00:17:41.399> spending<00:17:42.099> active<00:17:43.119> couple<00:17:44.259> hours<00:17:44.719> with<00:17:44.959> the<00:17:45.159> kids.
00:17:45.419 --> 00:17:46.459
I<00:17:45.559> have<00:17:45.699> 3<00:17:45.859> little<00:17:46.099> ones.
00:17:46.459 --> 00:17:47.799
I<00:17:46.619> have<00:17:46.759> 3<00:17:46.839> that<00:17:46.939> are<00:17:47.099> 6<00:17:47.279> and<00:17:47.399> under.
00:17:48.559 --> 00:17:49.619
We<00:17:48.639> want<00:17:48.799> all<00:17:49.119> the<00:17:49.219> things.
00:17:49.759 --> 00:17:51.759
We've<00:17:49.899> done<00:17:50.079> all<00:17:50.419> at<00:17:50.659> the<00:17:50.799> same<00:17:51.259> time.
00:17:51.759 --> 00:17:52.479
Yeah,<00:17:52.019> that's<00:17:52.259> incredible.
00:17:52.479 --> 00:17:52.729
We're<00:17:52.480> a<00:17:52.519> little<00:17:52.579> nuts.
00:17:53.919 --> 00:18:01.451
A<00:17:54.059> really<00:17:54.339> active<00:17:54.579> time<00:17:54.599> with<00:17:54.619> the<00:17:54.639> kids<00:17:54.659> in<00:17:54.679> the<00:17:54.699> morning,<00:17:54.719> which<00:17:54.739> then<00:17:56.500> helps<00:17:56.788> me<00:17:57.253> justify<00:17:57.894> being<00:17:58.358> really,<00:17:58.695> really<00:17:58.999> kind<00:17:59.240> of<00:17:59.336> like<00:17:59.576> work-focused,<00:18:00.458> you<00:18:00.554> know,<00:18:00.778> throughout<00:18:01.099> the<00:18:01.179> day.
00:18:02.204 --> 00:18:04.240
Um,<00:18:02.621> they're<00:18:02.845> all<00:18:02.925> in<00:18:03.022> school,<00:18:03.566> which<00:18:03.679> is<00:18:03.823> great.
00:18:04.448 --> 00:18:08.150
Um,<00:18:05.025> and<00:18:05.089> I<00:18:05.169> have<00:18:05.265> nanny<00:18:05.826> and<00:18:05.970> help,<00:18:06.307> and<00:18:06.387> it<00:18:06.499> really<00:18:06.691> takes<00:18:06.932> a<00:18:06.948> village<00:18:07.268> again<00:18:07.493> on<00:18:07.653> all<00:18:07.749> fronts.
00:18:08.294 --> 00:18:16.627
Um,<00:18:08.710> and<00:18:08.951> then,<00:18:09.512> you<00:18:09.592> know,<00:18:09.752> I<00:18:09.832> would<00:18:09.976> say<00:18:10.778> 9<00:18:11.435> to<00:18:12.540> 9:30,<00:18:13.358> try<00:18:13.598> not<00:18:13.838> to<00:18:13.919> have<00:18:14.095> any<00:18:14.303> calls<00:18:14.576> or<00:18:14.640> meetings<00:18:14.944> so<00:18:15.024> I<00:18:15.104> can<00:18:15.265> really<00:18:15.441> be<00:18:15.521> intentional<00:18:16.002> around<00:18:16.242> my<00:18:16.386> day.
00:18:16.707 --> 00:18:26.988
I'd<00:18:16.803> also<00:18:17.220> say<00:18:17.444> like<00:18:17.684> I've<00:18:17.909> added<00:18:18.149> some<00:18:18.405> morning<00:18:18.726> routines<00:18:19.912> before<00:18:20.248> I<00:18:20.328> kind<00:18:20.553> of<00:18:20.649> go<00:18:20.809> down<00:18:21.034> to<00:18:21.130> the<00:18:21.210> kids<00:18:21.851> that<00:18:22.476> have<00:18:22.733> really<00:18:23.038> helped<00:18:23.600> me<00:18:24.258> center<00:18:24.515> myself<00:18:25.222> and<00:18:25.366> be<00:18:25.463> more<00:18:25.623> intentional<00:18:26.281> around<00:18:26.570> my<00:18:26.747> day.
00:18:27.389 --> 00:18:34.470
I<00:18:27.470> think<00:18:27.855> before<00:18:28.674> I<00:18:28.754> was<00:18:28.915> sort<00:18:29.220> of<00:18:29.573> in<00:18:29.701> this<00:18:29.942> go,<00:18:30.119> go,<00:18:30.344> go<00:18:30.456> mentality<00:18:31.179> that<00:18:31.387> like<00:18:32.286> the<00:18:32.367> second<00:18:32.688> you<00:18:32.768> get<00:18:32.993> up,<00:18:33.169> kind<00:18:33.346> of<00:18:33.475> grab<00:18:33.715> your<00:18:33.812> email,<00:18:34.277> right?
00:18:34.534 --> 00:18:37.521
And<00:18:34.615> like<00:18:34.775> try<00:18:34.936> to<00:18:35.080> get<00:18:35.241> the<00:18:35.289> most<00:18:35.498> done<00:18:35.738> in<00:18:35.819> your<00:18:35.979> day<00:18:36.220> and<00:18:36.381> like<00:18:36.862> work<00:18:37.039> every<00:18:37.248> minute.
00:18:37.665 --> 00:18:40.330
And<00:18:38.291> it's—<00:18:38.612> it<00:18:38.789> doesn't<00:18:39.512> benefit<00:18:39.897> you,<00:18:40.154> right?
00:18:40.379 --> 00:18:40.973
At<00:18:40.459> a<00:18:40.475> certain<00:18:40.796> point.
00:18:41.037 --> 00:18:44.698
So<00:18:41.133> there<00:18:41.230> are<00:18:41.278> certain<00:18:42.964> practices<00:18:43.542> that<00:18:43.670> I've<00:18:43.911> added<00:18:44.088> in<00:18:44.168> the<00:18:44.232> morning.
00:18:44.890 --> 00:18:47.347
Like<00:18:45.115> I<00:18:45.131> do<00:18:45.292> a<00:18:45.372> cold<00:18:45.613> plunge<00:18:46.817> every<00:18:47.042> morning.
00:18:48.326 --> 00:18:52.966
And<00:18:48.423> so<00:18:48.824> that's<00:18:49.049> something<00:18:49.370> where<00:18:49.531> my<00:18:49.691> husband<00:18:50.012> did<00:18:50.108> that<00:18:50.285> for<00:18:50.494> years<00:18:51.072> and<00:18:51.168> I<00:18:51.297> would<00:18:51.473> literally<00:18:51.955> be<00:18:52.035> like,<00:18:52.196> you<00:18:52.356> are<00:18:52.436> insane.
00:18:53.159 --> 00:18:55.037
And<00:18:53.239> then<00:18:53.384> I<00:18:53.480> actually<00:18:53.962> tried<00:18:54.283> it<00:18:54.427> in<00:18:54.508> November.
00:18:55.391 --> 00:19:10.097
And<00:18:55.888> once<00:18:56.193> you<00:18:56.354> do<00:18:56.514> it<00:18:56.611> for<00:18:56.836> a<00:18:56.932> week<00:18:57.092> straight,<00:18:57.751> so<00:18:57.959> it's<00:18:58.136> typically<00:18:59.180> like<00:18:59.436> 55<00:18:59.966> degrees,<00:19:00.625> although<00:19:00.849> we<00:19:00.946> just<00:19:01.186> got<00:19:01.347> a<00:19:01.363> thing<00:19:01.588> that<00:19:01.748> can<00:19:01.909> go<00:19:02.070> to<00:19:02.246> like<00:19:02.712> 39,<00:19:03.274> which<00:19:03.434> I<00:19:03.514> think<00:19:03.675> is<00:19:03.836> a<00:19:03.852> little<00:19:04.060> aggressive,<00:19:04.863> but<00:19:05.281> you're<00:19:05.505> going<00:19:06.067> full<00:19:06.388> immersion<00:19:07.207> into<00:19:07.464> super<00:19:07.849> cold<00:19:08.090> water,<00:19:08.411> like<00:19:08.716> first<00:19:08.957> thing<00:19:09.118> you<00:19:09.198> do<00:19:09.358> when<00:19:09.455> you<00:19:09.535> wake<00:19:09.840> up.
00:19:10.258 --> 00:19:16.644
And<00:19:10.354> I<00:19:10.434> swear<00:19:10.836> to<00:19:10.964> you,<00:19:11.205> after<00:19:11.526> like,<00:19:12.008> you<00:19:12.104> just<00:19:12.666> feel<00:19:13.051> like<00:19:13.212> a<00:19:13.308> rush<00:19:13.629> of<00:19:13.790> dopamine,<00:19:14.255> like<00:19:15.057> I<00:19:15.233> literally<00:19:15.698> feel<00:19:16.195> happy.
00:19:16.901 --> 00:19:20.412
And<00:19:16.965> I'm<00:19:17.013> like,<00:19:17.302> wow,<00:19:17.799> it<00:19:17.959> took<00:19:18.136> like<00:19:18.344> a<00:19:18.360> week<00:19:18.600> of<00:19:18.665> not<00:19:18.841> being<00:19:19.001> like,<00:19:19.242> get<00:19:19.466> out<00:19:19.627> of<00:19:19.707> here,<00:19:19.867> you're<00:19:20.027> crazy.
00:19:20.605 --> 00:19:21.984
And<00:19:20.685> then<00:19:20.829> your<00:19:20.925> body<00:19:21.166> sort<00:19:21.342> of<00:19:21.422> adjusts.
00:19:22.433 --> 00:19:23.972
But<00:19:22.529> that<00:19:22.689> has<00:19:22.849> been<00:19:22.946> an<00:19:23.074> amazing<00:19:23.571> unlock.
00:19:24.068 --> 00:19:32.021
So<00:19:24.437> cold<00:19:24.693> plunge<00:19:25.319> into<00:19:25.559> hot<00:19:25.800> shower,<00:19:26.858> intention<00:19:28.285> into<00:19:28.461> the<00:19:28.605> day,<00:19:29.327> kids<00:19:29.423> and<00:19:29.567> chaos,<00:19:31.363> nice<00:19:31.652> seed<00:19:31.828> thought.
00:19:32.550 --> 00:19:36.606
And<00:19:32.694> then<00:19:32.806> I<00:19:32.935> would<00:19:33.031> say,<00:19:33.175> you<00:19:33.255> know,<00:19:33.432> during<00:19:33.672> the<00:19:33.816> day,<00:19:34.634> listen,<00:19:35.612> it<00:19:35.756> varies,<00:19:36.302> right?
00:19:37.664 --> 00:19:58.007
I<00:19:37.921> am<00:19:38.145> trying<00:19:38.963> not<00:19:39.204> to<00:19:39.348> do<00:19:39.605> what<00:19:39.749> I<00:19:39.845> default<00:19:40.262> to,<00:19:40.567> which<00:19:40.743> is<00:19:40.871> have<00:19:41.064> like<00:19:41.288> 11<00:19:41.609> meetings<00:19:41.929> a<00:19:42.010> day<00:19:42.330> because<00:19:42.715> I,<00:19:43.068> I'm<00:19:43.228> so<00:19:43.613> interested<00:19:43.933> and<00:19:44.078> engaged<00:19:44.494> in<00:19:44.558> the<00:19:44.655> people<00:19:44.975> that<00:19:45.039> I'm<00:19:45.216> connecting<00:19:45.680> with<00:19:46.322> that<00:19:46.418> I<00:19:46.498> kind<00:19:46.722> of<00:19:46.818> don't<00:19:46.979> want<00:19:47.123> to<00:19:47.155> say<00:19:47.315> no,<00:19:48.245> but<00:19:48.341> I'm<00:19:48.502> realizing<00:19:49.063> like<00:19:49.447> 5<00:19:49.704> days<00:19:49.944> in<00:19:50.024> a<00:19:50.088> row<00:19:50.329> of<00:19:50.425> that<00:19:50.842> is<00:19:50.986> not<00:19:51.451> the<00:19:51.547> best<00:19:51.787> use<00:19:51.948> of<00:19:52.028> time<00:19:52.364> because<00:19:52.733> you<00:19:52.813> also<00:19:53.054> need<00:19:53.294> blocks<00:19:53.791> to<00:19:54.031> think<00:19:54.753> and<00:19:54.897> to<00:19:55.009> strategize<00:19:55.955> and<00:19:56.099> to<00:19:56.259> answer<00:19:56.580> emails<00:19:57.221> and<00:19:57.381> all<00:19:57.478> of<00:19:57.558> the<00:19:57.702> things.
00:19:58.439 --> 00:20:03.456
So<00:19:59.706> really<00:19:59.962> full<00:20:00.267> days,<00:20:00.924> I<00:20:01.068> would<00:20:01.180> say<00:20:01.485> until<00:20:01.821> probably<00:20:02.751> 5:30.
00:20:03.889 --> 00:20:13.719
And<00:20:03.969> then<00:20:04.130> I<00:20:04.434> really<00:20:04.691> try,<00:20:05.572> unless<00:20:05.893> there's<00:20:06.117> like<00:20:06.277> a<00:20:06.358> fire<00:20:06.694> to<00:20:06.838> put<00:20:06.999> out,<00:20:07.880> to<00:20:08.057> keep<00:20:08.538> like<00:20:09.018> 5:30<00:20:10.140> to<00:20:10.445> 8<00:20:10.814> sacred<00:20:11.905> and<00:20:12.210> really<00:20:12.467> be<00:20:12.612> present<00:20:12.949> with<00:20:13.109> my<00:20:13.270> kids.
00:20:14.056 --> 00:20:20.702
And<00:20:14.458> once<00:20:14.714> they're<00:20:14.939> all<00:20:15.100> asleep,<00:20:16.881> candidly,<00:20:17.507> I<00:20:17.604> probably<00:20:18.005> watch<00:20:18.246> like<00:20:18.487> TV<00:20:18.808> for<00:20:18.968> an<00:20:19.113> hour<00:20:19.225> or<00:20:19.305> so<00:20:19.530> to<00:20:19.610> feel<00:20:19.835> like<00:20:19.947> a<00:20:20.012> person<00:20:20.333> again.
00:20:21.071 --> 00:20:24.843
And<00:20:21.199> then<00:20:21.376> when<00:20:21.537> my<00:20:21.697> spouse<00:20:22.098> passes<00:20:22.484> out<00:20:22.580> at<00:20:22.660> 10<00:20:22.821> o'clock,<00:20:23.206> I<00:20:23.302> probably<00:20:23.607> work<00:20:23.800> again<00:20:24.025> till<00:20:24.153> like<00:20:24.410> midnight.
00:20:25.229 --> 00:20:27.668
That's<00:20:25.614> my<00:20:25.871> like—<00:20:26.336> for<00:20:26.416> some<00:20:26.673> people,<00:20:26.994> they're<00:20:27.139> morning<00:20:27.460> people.
00:20:27.717 --> 00:20:29.579
They're<00:20:27.813> like,<00:20:27.957> oh<00:20:27.973> my<00:20:28.118> God,<00:20:28.295> it's<00:20:28.423> so<00:20:28.664> quiet<00:20:28.985> at<00:20:29.081> 5<00:20:29.482> AM.
00:20:29.643 --> 00:20:30.060
No<00:20:29.787> one's<00:20:29.964> there.
00:20:30.108 --> 00:20:32.003
I'm<00:20:30.157> like,<00:20:30.429> that<00:20:30.590> also<00:20:30.847> happens<00:20:31.553> at<00:20:31.730> midnight.
00:20:32.275 --> 00:20:35.036
And<00:20:32.934> so<00:20:33.094> that's<00:20:33.399> kind<00:20:33.640> of<00:20:33.800> like<00:20:34.041> my<00:20:34.282> also<00:20:34.603> time.
00:20:35.181 --> 00:20:38.279
I<00:20:35.261> know<00:20:35.438> it's<00:20:35.646> not<00:20:35.807> like<00:20:35.984> the<00:20:36.064> healthiest,<00:20:36.850> but<00:20:36.947> I<00:20:37.091> get<00:20:37.268> so<00:20:37.749> much<00:20:37.990> done.
00:20:38.632 --> 00:20:40.718
Between<00:20:39.033> like<00:20:39.274> 10:30<00:20:39.980> and<00:20:40.076> midnight.
00:20:41.842 --> 00:20:51.085
And<00:20:41.986> that's<00:20:42.243> kind<00:20:42.468> of<00:20:42.548> how<00:20:42.724> I've<00:20:42.885> been<00:20:43.029> able<00:20:43.206> to<00:20:43.430> justify<00:20:43.944> my<00:20:44.233> day<00:20:44.490> of<00:20:44.634> like<00:20:45.035> balancing,<00:20:45.613> not<00:20:45.774> that<00:20:45.918> there's<00:20:46.159> ever<00:20:46.335> a<00:20:46.415> real<00:20:46.656> balance,<00:20:47.603> but<00:20:47.764> some<00:20:48.036> semblance<00:20:48.566> of,<00:20:49.208> you<00:20:49.240> know,<00:20:49.529> real<00:20:49.689> focus<00:20:50.107> time<00:20:50.411> for<00:20:50.572> kids.
00:20:51.390 --> 00:21:00.345
And<00:20:51.936> for<00:20:52.080> me,<00:20:52.353> that<00:20:52.578> means<00:20:52.899> making<00:20:53.220> up<00:20:53.380> for<00:20:53.621> it<00:20:53.878> by<00:20:54.119> then<00:20:54.343> working<00:20:54.664> till<00:20:54.777> midnight<00:20:55.226> a<00:20:55.242> lot<00:20:55.467> of<00:20:55.547> nights,<00:20:55.964> but<00:20:56.125> it's<00:20:56.349> things<00:20:56.590> that<00:20:56.686> I<00:20:56.847> love<00:20:57.392> and<00:20:57.954> it<00:20:58.050> allows<00:20:58.436> me<00:20:58.532> to<00:20:58.612> be<00:20:58.757> present<00:20:59.414> and<00:20:59.495> make<00:20:59.735> up<00:20:59.880> for<00:21:00.056> it<00:21:00.137> later.
00:21:00.474 --> 00:21:03.956
So<00:21:01.180> that's<00:21:01.421> a<00:21:01.501> bit<00:21:01.661> about<00:21:01.966> how<00:21:02.078> my<00:21:02.303> day's<00:21:02.624> scheduled,<00:21:03.170> but<00:21:03.266> it<00:21:03.410> really<00:21:03.587> varies.
00:21:04.213 --> 00:21:04.999
Yeah,<00:21:04.325> that's<00:21:04.534> incredible.
00:21:05.737 --> 00:21:06.330
What<00:21:05.849> are<00:21:05.897> you<00:21:06.073> reading?
00:21:06.698 --> 00:21:08.365
What<00:21:06.859> reading<00:21:07.099> recommendations<00:21:07.740> would<00:21:07.900> you<00:21:07.981> have<00:21:08.077> for<00:21:08.317> us?
00:21:09.359 --> 00:21:12.035
There<00:21:09.519> are<00:21:09.663> two<00:21:10.000> books<00:21:10.641> that<00:21:10.753> I'm<00:21:11.026> reading<00:21:11.683> right<00:21:11.859> now.
00:21:12.468 --> 00:21:19.216
I've<00:21:12.629> actually<00:21:13.670> read<00:21:14.792> both<00:21:14.985> of<00:21:15.033> them<00:21:15.209> before<00:21:16.074> and<00:21:16.792> I<00:21:16.812> think<00:21:16.972> it's<00:21:17.100> something<00:21:17.357> where<00:21:17.453> it's<00:21:17.613> good<00:21:17.773> to<00:21:17.998> reread<00:21:18.270> it<00:21:18.398> almost<00:21:18.639> like<00:21:18.799> once<00:21:18.975> a<00:21:19.120> year.
00:21:20.017 --> 00:21:21.508
One<00:21:20.194> is<00:21:20.338> called<00:21:20.578> The<00:21:20.658> Way<00:21:20.883> of<00:21:20.979> Integrity.
00:21:21.860 --> 00:21:25.643
Let<00:21:22.277> me<00:21:22.806> figure<00:21:23.046> out<00:21:23.287> who<00:21:23.383> the—<00:21:23.463> I<00:21:23.479> think<00:21:23.928> I<00:21:23.960> know<00:21:24.104> the<00:21:24.168> name—<00:21:24.826> by<00:21:24.986> Martha<00:21:25.387> Beck.
00:21:26.364 --> 00:21:31.910
It's<00:21:27.134> a<00:21:27.230> book<00:21:27.406> that<00:21:27.614> you<00:21:27.775> read<00:21:28.432> in<00:21:28.576> my<00:21:28.736> mind<00:21:29.057> with<00:21:29.169> a<00:21:29.233> pencil<00:21:29.634> in<00:21:29.714> your<00:21:29.858> hand<00:21:30.419> and<00:21:30.515> pause<00:21:31.140> and<00:21:31.237> circle<00:21:31.701> things.
00:21:31.958 --> 00:21:33.881
And<00:21:32.054> they<00:21:32.182> have<00:21:32.359> little<00:21:32.583> kind<00:21:32.759> of<00:21:32.839> workshops<00:21:33.384> throughout.
00:21:34.266 --> 00:21:42.396
But<00:21:34.427> the<00:21:34.507> seed<00:21:34.845> thought<00:21:35.150> of<00:21:35.311> it<00:21:35.407> is,<00:21:36.114> you<00:21:36.194> know,<00:21:36.355> really<00:21:36.548> about<00:21:36.773> personal<00:21:37.239> growth<00:21:38.203> and<00:21:38.379> sort<00:21:38.685> of<00:21:38.781> checking<00:21:39.183> yourself<00:21:40.147> of<00:21:40.388> where<00:21:40.693> you<00:21:40.934> are<00:21:41.657> out<00:21:41.818> of<00:21:41.914> integrity.
00:21:42.460 --> 00:21:44.726
And<00:21:42.541> that<00:21:42.637> means<00:21:42.862> different<00:21:43.135> things<00:21:43.585> for<00:21:43.762> different<00:21:44.083> people,<00:21:44.485> right?
00:21:44.790 --> 00:21:49.032
But<00:21:44.903> essentially<00:21:45.995> not<00:21:46.236> feeling<00:21:46.573> split<00:21:46.975> in<00:21:47.120> different<00:21:47.441> ways<00:21:47.859> and<00:21:47.939> how<00:21:48.100> do<00:21:48.148> you<00:21:48.196> make<00:21:48.437> yourself<00:21:48.807> whole.
00:21:49.144 --> 00:21:52.165
And<00:21:49.224> it's<00:21:49.369> going<00:21:49.626> through<00:21:49.931> all<00:21:50.044> of<00:21:50.172> these<00:21:50.301> like<00:21:50.654> really<00:21:50.912> interesting<00:21:51.394> processes.
00:21:52.341 --> 00:21:53.643
That's<00:21:52.599> an<00:21:52.663> amazing<00:21:53.241> book.
00:21:53.787 --> 00:21:57.772
And<00:21:53.884> I<00:21:54.045> feel<00:21:54.334> like<00:21:54.687> even<00:21:54.928> 10<00:21:55.234> pages<00:21:55.571> into<00:21:55.876> it,<00:21:56.519> you<00:21:56.696> pause<00:21:57.017> and<00:21:57.097> you're<00:21:57.194> like,<00:21:57.563> oh<00:21:57.660> wow.
00:21:58.463 --> 00:22:03.151
And<00:21:58.543> a<00:21:58.624> lot<00:21:58.800> of<00:21:58.881> what<00:21:59.025> she<00:21:59.170> talks<00:21:59.507> about<00:21:59.813> is<00:21:59.973> also<00:22:00.856> these<00:22:01.033> like<00:22:01.338> 1-degree<00:22:01.915> daily<00:22:02.236> shifts,<00:22:03.022> right?
00:22:03.263 --> 00:22:14.045
And<00:22:03.359> so<00:22:03.600> the<00:22:03.680> analogy<00:22:04.322> is,<00:22:04.659> if<00:22:04.803> I'm<00:22:04.948> flying<00:22:05.381> a<00:22:05.445> plane,<00:22:06.392> right,<00:22:06.729> and<00:22:06.825> I<00:22:06.969> make<00:22:07.226> even<00:22:07.451> a<00:22:07.531> 1-degree<00:22:08.012> change,<00:22:08.959> it's<00:22:09.119> the<00:22:09.200> difference<00:22:09.601> of<00:22:09.697> me<00:22:09.857> ending<00:22:10.162> up<00:22:10.323> in,<00:22:10.945> I<00:22:10.965> mean,<00:22:11.221> Miami<00:22:11.783> or,<00:22:12.425> you<00:22:12.521> know,<00:22:12.906> Timbuktu,<00:22:13.451> not<00:22:13.612> really,<00:22:13.869> right?
00:22:14.093 --> 00:22:15.040
But<00:22:14.494> you<00:22:14.591> get<00:22:14.735> the<00:22:14.831> idea.
00:22:15.136 --> 00:22:33.056
And<00:22:15.232> so<00:22:15.954> that<00:22:16.195> concept<00:22:16.692> and<00:22:16.757> that<00:22:16.917> metaphor<00:22:17.382> really<00:22:17.559> stuck<00:22:17.864> with<00:22:18.040> me<00:22:18.666> of<00:22:18.987> it<00:22:19.083> being<00:22:19.324> much<00:22:19.564> more<00:22:19.709> approachable<00:22:20.302> to<00:22:20.447> try<00:22:21.089> to<00:22:21.233> make<00:22:21.490> these<00:22:21.714> lasting<00:22:22.196> changes<00:22:22.533> in<00:22:22.613> your<00:22:22.773> life<00:22:23.415> of<00:22:23.576> these<00:22:23.816> like<00:22:24.121> 1-degree<00:22:24.618> shifts<00:22:25.100> daily<00:22:26.127> to<00:22:26.223> stay<00:22:26.608> in<00:22:26.688> this<00:22:26.865> place<00:22:27.105> of<00:22:27.186> integrity,<00:22:27.699> to<00:22:27.763> stay<00:22:27.988> in<00:22:28.068> this<00:22:28.293> place<00:22:28.485> of<00:22:28.565> intention,<00:22:29.592> in<00:22:29.752> business<00:22:30.153> and<00:22:30.378> personal,<00:22:30.859> you<00:22:30.939> know,<00:22:31.116> and<00:22:31.196> spiritually<00:22:31.677> on<00:22:31.901> all<00:22:32.062> fronts<00:22:32.318> sort<00:22:32.495> of<00:22:32.575> of<00:22:32.703> life.
00:22:34.002 --> 00:22:35.926
So<00:22:34.243> really<00:22:34.451> amazing<00:22:34.884> book<00:22:35.109> I<00:22:35.125> would<00:22:35.285> recommend.
00:22:36.327 --> 00:22:38.268
So<00:22:36.423> that<00:22:36.632> one's<00:22:36.808> The<00:22:36.889> Way<00:22:37.049> of<00:22:37.129> Integrity<00:22:37.530> by<00:22:37.690> Martha<00:22:38.011> Beck.
00:22:38.492 --> 00:22:41.796
And<00:22:38.572> then<00:22:38.733> the<00:22:38.893> other<00:22:39.053> one<00:22:39.214> is<00:22:39.358> called<00:22:39.534> The<00:22:39.599> Surrender<00:22:40.000> Experiment<00:22:40.898> by<00:22:41.042> Michael<00:22:41.298> Singer.
00:22:42.020 --> 00:22:43.576
It's<00:22:42.180> the<00:22:42.261> same<00:22:42.565> author<00:22:42.822> of<00:22:42.966> Untethered<00:22:43.399> Soul.
00:22:44.409 --> 00:22:46.382
And<00:22:44.987> that<00:22:45.227> one<00:22:45.388> is<00:22:45.532> an<00:22:45.612> amazing<00:22:46.173> read.
00:22:46.430 --> 00:22:48.082
It's<00:22:46.574> also<00:22:46.767> like<00:22:46.911> these<00:22:47.136> 3-page<00:22:47.617> chapters.
00:22:48.130 --> 00:22:49.733
So<00:22:48.258> you<00:22:48.354> feel<00:22:48.579> like<00:22:48.755> you've<00:22:48.851> accomplished<00:22:49.397> so<00:22:49.573> much.
00:22:49.798 --> 00:22:53.903
You're<00:22:50.038> like,<00:22:50.263> oh<00:22:50.439> my<00:22:50.583> God,<00:22:50.712> I'm<00:22:50.904> on<00:22:50.984> like<00:22:51.145> chapter<00:22:51.481> 7,<00:22:53.326> which<00:22:53.502> is<00:22:53.630> great.
00:22:54.047 --> 00:22:55.779
But<00:22:54.368> it's<00:22:54.592> really—<00:22:54.945> it's<00:22:55.089> his<00:22:55.330> story.
00:22:56.918 --> 00:23:04.533
And<00:22:57.639> it's<00:22:57.880> like<00:22:58.136> this—<00:22:58.521> it's<00:22:58.762> like<00:22:58.938> this<00:22:59.179> process<00:22:59.804> of<00:22:59.916> just<00:23:01.487> kind<00:23:01.664> of<00:23:01.760> ceding<00:23:02.209> control<00:23:02.706> in<00:23:02.850> a<00:23:02.930> way,<00:23:03.203> more<00:23:03.427> flow<00:23:03.812> with<00:23:04.052> life.
00:23:05.174 --> 00:23:21.012
The<00:23:05.255> short<00:23:05.575> story<00:23:05.992> of<00:23:06.136> it<00:23:06.377> is<00:23:06.793> he<00:23:07.755> was<00:23:08.236> a<00:23:08.316> professor,<00:23:09.262> then<00:23:09.374> decided,<00:23:10.016> "I'm<00:23:10.320> going<00:23:10.432> to<00:23:10.545> go<00:23:10.641> live<00:23:10.801> in<00:23:10.881> the<00:23:11.025> woods<00:23:11.202> and<00:23:11.282> just<00:23:11.474> study<00:23:11.747> yoga."<00:23:12.564> And<00:23:12.725> then<00:23:12.885> by<00:23:13.045> the<00:23:13.206> end<00:23:13.366> of<00:23:13.446> the<00:23:13.606> book,<00:23:14.328> you'll<00:23:14.488> read<00:23:14.584> this<00:23:14.728> in<00:23:14.792> the<00:23:14.825> back<00:23:14.985> of<00:23:15.049> the<00:23:15.129> COVID<00:23:15.370> so<00:23:15.418> I'm<00:23:15.530> not<00:23:15.690> giving<00:23:15.915> it<00:23:15.995> away,<00:23:16.716> he<00:23:16.748> literally<00:23:17.133> IPOs<00:23:17.550> a<00:23:17.614> tech<00:23:17.854> company<00:23:18.255> from<00:23:18.495> the<00:23:18.640> woods<00:23:19.201> for<00:23:20.163> billions<00:23:20.499> of<00:23:20.579> dollars.
00:23:21.060 --> 00:23:31.036
And<00:23:21.557> it's<00:23:21.782> just<00:23:22.022> this<00:23:22.246> process<00:23:22.663> of<00:23:22.808> him<00:23:22.984> not<00:23:23.208> having<00:23:23.785> a<00:23:23.946> death<00:23:24.186> grip<00:23:24.427> of<00:23:24.507> control<00:23:24.972> around<00:23:25.228> life,<00:23:26.030> which<00:23:26.270> I<00:23:26.350> think<00:23:26.735> is<00:23:27.377> a<00:23:27.393> very<00:23:27.938> healthy<00:23:28.757> approach<00:23:29.383> to<00:23:29.495> like<00:23:29.784> flow<00:23:30.265> and<00:23:30.362> not<00:23:30.538> force.
00:23:31.244 --> 00:23:38.066
Like<00:23:31.549> that<00:23:31.806> shift<00:23:32.047> for<00:23:32.191> me<00:23:32.432> has<00:23:32.673> really<00:23:32.930> unlocked<00:23:33.347> a<00:23:33.411> lot<00:23:33.588> of<00:23:33.796> things<00:23:34.856> professionally,<00:23:35.498> personally,<00:23:36.043> how<00:23:36.204> I<00:23:36.284> approach<00:23:36.701> like<00:23:36.862> many<00:23:37.103> parts<00:23:37.440> of<00:23:37.520> my<00:23:37.729> life.
00:23:38.290 --> 00:23:42.222

I<00:23:42.784> haven't<00:23:43.105> read<00:23:43.442> either<00:23:43.683> of<00:23:43.763> those,<00:23:44.164> so<00:23:44.325> I'm<00:23:44.726> reading<00:23:44.967> both<00:23:45.208> of<00:23:45.272> them.
00:23:45.448 --> 00:23:45.930
Let<00:23:45.561> me<00:23:45.689> know.
00:23:46.235 --> 00:23:47.101
You<00:23:46.315> sold<00:23:46.572> me<00:23:46.732> on<00:23:46.893> both.
00:23:47.535 --> 00:23:48.514
Okay.
00:23:49.926 --> 00:23:56.057
How<00:23:50.039> much<00:23:50.344> of<00:23:50.424> your<00:23:50.504> day<00:23:50.648> are<00:23:50.809> you<00:23:50.921> spending<00:23:52.013> thinking<00:23:52.253> about<00:23:52.430> artificial<00:23:52.831> intelligence,<00:23:53.473> how<00:23:53.569> it's<00:23:53.714> integrating<00:23:54.131> into<00:23:54.260> your<00:23:54.420> companies,<00:23:54.918> integrating<00:23:55.335> into<00:23:55.576> investing?
00:23:56.442 --> 00:23:58.479
And<00:23:56.586> kind<00:23:56.843> of<00:23:56.987> how<00:23:57.100> it's<00:23:57.308> going<00:23:57.565> to<00:23:57.725> affect<00:23:58.062> everything?
00:23:58.751 --> 00:23:59.745
Yeah,<00:23:58.912> it's<00:23:59.024> a<00:23:59.088> great<00:23:59.313> question.
00:24:00.034 --> 00:24:06.368
Um,<00:24:00.595> you<00:24:00.676> know,<00:24:00.756> I<00:24:00.852> feel<00:24:01.125> like<00:24:01.574> a<00:24:01.718> year<00:24:01.894> plus<00:24:02.199> ago,<00:24:03.241> like<00:24:03.498> everyone<00:24:04.380> was<00:24:04.460> like,<00:24:04.700> now<00:24:04.861> I'm<00:24:05.037> an<00:24:05.166> AI<00:24:05.422> company,<00:24:05.983> right?
00:24:06.545 --> 00:24:09.399
And<00:24:06.705> then<00:24:06.946> I<00:24:07.026> think<00:24:07.250> it<00:24:07.330> took<00:24:07.507> time<00:24:07.747> to<00:24:07.844> be<00:24:07.988> like,<00:24:08.228> you're<00:24:08.405> not<00:24:08.629> an<00:24:08.774> AI<00:24:09.014> company.
00:24:09.736 --> 00:24:14.017
AI<00:24:09.992> enabled<00:24:10.409> is<00:24:10.537> just<00:24:10.714> table<00:24:10.954> stakes<00:24:11.580> for<00:24:11.708> like,<00:24:12.157> you're<00:24:12.622> a<00:24:12.718> modern<00:24:13.103> company,<00:24:13.761> right?
00:24:14.081 --> 00:24:18.780
Versus<00:24:14.482> the<00:24:14.562> folks<00:24:14.867> that<00:24:14.979> are<00:24:15.268> actually<00:24:15.749> using<00:24:16.086> AI,<00:24:17.048> you<00:24:17.128> know,<00:24:17.353> as<00:24:17.513> the<00:24:17.609> core<00:24:17.930> of<00:24:18.090> their<00:24:18.395> offering.
00:24:18.892 --> 00:24:21.714
And<00:24:18.972> it's<00:24:19.117> something<00:24:19.437> very<00:24:19.614> different<00:24:19.934> than<00:24:20.015> just<00:24:20.239> like<00:24:20.416> a<00:24:20.432> skin<00:24:20.800> on<00:24:20.897> ChatGPT.
00:24:22.404 --> 00:24:28.845
Um,<00:24:22.644> so<00:24:22.805> I<00:24:22.901> think<00:24:23.367> what's<00:24:23.624> labeled<00:24:23.961> an<00:24:24.170> AI<00:24:24.427> company<00:24:25.086> is<00:24:25.294> changing<00:24:26.114> because<00:24:26.371> again,<00:24:26.837> everything<00:24:27.238> should<00:24:27.383> really<00:24:27.640> be<00:24:27.865> AI<00:24:28.106> enabled<00:24:28.459> in<00:24:28.588> a<00:24:28.604> way.
00:24:29.953 --> 00:24:35.930
You<00:24:29.986> know,<00:24:30.130> I<00:24:30.211> think<00:24:30.435> on<00:24:30.532> a<00:24:30.676> daily<00:24:31.014> basis,<00:24:31.817> there's<00:24:32.122> definitely<00:24:32.604> been<00:24:32.845> unlocks<00:24:33.343> in<00:24:33.424> terms<00:24:33.809> of,<00:24:34.131> you<00:24:34.163> know,<00:24:34.854> note<00:24:35.111> takers,<00:24:35.737> right?
00:24:35.994 --> 00:24:39.882
That<00:24:36.139> then<00:24:36.315> give<00:24:36.492> summaries<00:24:37.263> that<00:24:37.360> then,<00:24:38.083> you<00:24:38.163> know,<00:24:38.500> integrate<00:24:38.966> with<00:24:39.063> your<00:24:39.191> CRM.
00:24:39.995 --> 00:24:42.228
Like<00:24:40.412> there's<00:24:40.717> a<00:24:40.798> lot<00:24:40.991> of<00:24:41.119> unlocks<00:24:41.617> on<00:24:41.762> time.
00:24:43.465 --> 00:24:49.570
Motion<00:24:43.786> was<00:24:43.947> a<00:24:44.011> company<00:24:44.348> that<00:24:44.445> I<00:24:44.573> tried<00:24:45.232> that,<00:24:45.714> you<00:24:45.810> know,<00:24:46.099> kind<00:24:46.212> of<00:24:46.276> manages<00:24:46.678> your<00:24:46.758> calendar<00:24:47.224> and<00:24:47.320> puts<00:24:47.561> in<00:24:47.642> tasks<00:24:48.204> and<00:24:48.284> kind<00:24:48.461> of<00:24:48.606> acts<00:24:48.831> like<00:24:48.943> a<00:24:49.072> virtual<00:24:49.554> EA.
00:24:51.015 --> 00:24:52.796
That's<00:24:51.319> been<00:24:51.416> something<00:24:51.673> that's<00:24:51.897> been<00:24:52.042> really<00:24:52.282> great.
00:24:53.422 --> 00:25:03.468
But<00:24:53.967> yeah,<00:24:54.224> I<00:24:54.304> mean,<00:24:54.465> I<00:24:54.545> spend<00:24:55.283> for<00:24:55.412> sure<00:24:55.653> a<00:24:55.749> lot<00:24:55.925> of<00:24:56.054> time<00:24:56.776> thinking<00:24:57.129> about<00:24:57.980> AI-enabled<00:24:58.798> companies<00:24:59.745> and<00:24:59.905> hearing<00:25:00.387> how<00:25:01.125> they're<00:25:01.366> approaching,<00:25:02.329> you<00:25:02.409> know,<00:25:02.570> different<00:25:02.810> solutions.
00:25:03.853 --> 00:25:07.914
I<00:25:03.934> think<00:25:04.158> the<00:25:04.255> biggest<00:25:04.576> question<00:25:04.897> that<00:25:04.993> I<00:25:05.057> ask<00:25:05.378> these<00:25:05.539> companies<00:25:06.020> is<00:25:06.164> like,<00:25:06.582> how<00:25:06.726> do<00:25:06.758> you<00:25:06.822> think<00:25:06.983> about<00:25:07.208> defensibility?
00:25:08.187 --> 00:25:08.508
Right?
00:25:08.588 --> 00:25:16.163
And<00:25:08.684> so<00:25:08.909> the<00:25:09.069> answer<00:25:09.872> definitely<00:25:10.273> has<00:25:10.578> to<00:25:10.674> be,<00:25:10.899> if<00:25:10.995> they're<00:25:11.139> presenting<00:25:11.621> themselves<00:25:11.974> again<00:25:12.375> as<00:25:12.600> this,<00:25:12.985> you<00:25:13.017> know,<00:25:13.162> the<00:25:13.242> main<00:25:13.547> focus<00:25:13.884> of<00:25:13.948> their<00:25:14.108> company<00:25:14.750> is,<00:25:14.991> and<00:25:15.087> the<00:25:15.248> unlock<00:25:15.745> is<00:25:15.874> AI.
00:25:16.628 --> 00:25:19.275
Again,<00:25:16.853> it<00:25:16.933> can't<00:25:17.157> be<00:25:17.270> a<00:25:17.334> skin<00:25:17.719> on<00:25:17.815> top<00:25:18.056> of<00:25:18.152> ChatGPT,<00:25:19.082> right?
00:25:19.339 --> 00:25:23.077
It's<00:25:19.419> like,<00:25:19.580> why<00:25:19.740> can't<00:25:19.981> someone<00:25:20.286> else,<00:25:20.767> you<00:25:20.799> know,<00:25:20.927> also<00:25:21.200> raise<00:25:21.665> $500K<00:25:22.227> and<00:25:22.371> do<00:25:22.467> this<00:25:22.628> tomorrow?
00:25:23.590 --> 00:25:33.648
And<00:25:23.670> so<00:25:23.895> that's<00:25:24.152> where<00:25:24.328> I<00:25:24.472> think,<00:25:24.938> you<00:25:24.970> know,<00:25:25.114> the<00:25:25.178> secret<00:25:25.499> sauce<00:25:25.756> is<00:25:25.916> for<00:25:26.028> these<00:25:26.221> companies<00:25:26.702> that<00:25:26.766> are,<00:25:27.520> you<00:25:27.600> know,<00:25:27.905> really<00:25:28.162> taking<00:25:28.483> a<00:25:28.563> thoughtful<00:25:28.884> approach<00:25:29.381> to<00:25:29.606> building<00:25:29.862> a<00:25:29.926> moat<00:25:30.408> and<00:25:30.488> defensibility<00:25:31.835> with<00:25:32.012> their<00:25:32.236> use<00:25:32.477> of<00:25:32.573> AI.
00:25:34.017 --> 00:25:38.316
Those<00:25:34.274> are<00:25:34.418> really<00:25:34.643> fascinating<00:25:35.204> companies,<00:25:35.701> but<00:25:35.846> there's<00:25:36.343> so<00:25:36.568> much<00:25:36.744> that's<00:25:36.969> happening<00:25:37.707> in<00:25:37.851> that<00:25:38.011> space.
00:25:38.509 --> 00:25:41.332
It's<00:25:38.653> really<00:25:40.017> a<00:25:40.049> fun<00:25:40.273> time<00:25:40.578> to<00:25:40.674> be<00:25:40.771> an<00:25:40.899> investor.
00:25:41.653 --> 00:25:48.998
It<00:25:41.701> really<00:25:41.958> is<00:25:42.118> funny<00:25:42.439> when,<00:25:43.643> You<00:25:43.740> know,<00:25:43.966> a<00:25:44.030> year<00:25:44.208> ago<00:25:44.530> everybody<00:25:44.917> had<00:25:45.159> AI<00:25:45.740> on<00:25:45.820> their<00:25:45.982> headers<00:25:46.546> of<00:25:46.691> their<00:25:46.772> website,<00:25:47.353> just<00:25:47.578> like,<00:25:47.756> we're<00:25:48.143> an<00:25:48.304> AI<00:25:48.562> company<00:25:48.965> now.
00:25:49.046 --> 00:25:49.643
I<00:25:49.175> was<00:25:49.352> like,<00:25:49.530> I<00:25:49.610> know.
00:25:50.130 --> 00:25:58.045
I<00:25:50.146> think<00:25:50.308> I<00:25:50.341> made<00:25:50.568> a<00:25:50.650> joke<00:25:50.894> that<00:25:51.040> everyone<00:25:51.381> spent<00:25:52.113> like<00:25:52.276> $59<00:25:53.088> on<00:25:53.170> GoDaddy<00:25:53.901> and<00:25:53.983> changed<00:25:54.308> their<00:25:54.454> URLs<00:25:54.942> to<00:25:55.348> .ai<00:25:55.934> and<00:25:56.096> like<00:25:56.812> all<00:25:56.909> their<00:25:57.104> valuations<00:25:57.592> went<00:25:57.883> up.
00:26:00.127 --> 00:26:03.549
Uh,<00:26:00.466> they<00:26:01.112> probably<00:26:01.419> did<00:26:01.580> for<00:26:01.693> some,<00:26:02.080> but<00:26:02.387> they<00:26:02.468> probably<00:26:02.726> did<00:26:03.275> actually.
00:26:03.840 --> 00:26:04.647
Yeah,<00:26:04.034> probably<00:26:04.566> did.
00:26:04.889 --> 00:26:05.713
Worked<00:26:05.309> honestly.
00:26:06.019 --> 00:26:10.189
Um,<00:26:06.520> what<00:26:06.681> are<00:26:06.746> like<00:26:06.941> some<00:26:07.413> key<00:26:08.537> traits<00:26:09.100> traits<00:26:09.276> that<00:26:09.388> a<00:26:09.532> leader<00:26:09.772> should<00:26:09.997> have?
00:26:10.253 --> 00:26:13.362
Do<00:26:10.301> you<00:26:10.333> have<00:26:10.494> like<00:26:10.750> 3<00:26:11.295> leadership<00:26:11.775> traits<00:26:12.256> like<00:26:12.496> that<00:26:12.641> you've<00:26:12.817> seen?
00:26:13.762 --> 00:26:19.258
Um,<00:26:14.243> in<00:26:14.339> very—<00:26:14.499> because<00:26:14.740> obviously<00:26:15.060> all<00:26:15.220> leaders<00:26:15.477> are<00:26:15.541> different,<00:26:15.765> have<00:26:16.006> different<00:26:16.246> personalities,<00:26:16.775> different<00:26:16.983> approach,<00:26:17.384> but<00:26:17.528> what<00:26:17.848> kind<00:26:18.025> of<00:26:18.105> traits<00:26:18.505> make<00:26:18.746> a<00:26:18.826> good<00:26:19.066> leader?
00:26:19.627 --> 00:26:21.486
I<00:26:19.707> think<00:26:19.931> humility<00:26:20.508> is<00:26:20.540> super<00:26:20.973> important.
00:26:21.710 --> 00:26:29.241
I<00:26:21.790> think,<00:26:22.495> you<00:26:22.527> know,<00:26:22.752> of<00:26:22.912> course<00:26:23.216> confidence,<00:26:24.017> you<00:26:24.114> know,<00:26:24.290> is<00:26:24.434> important,<00:26:25.139> you<00:26:25.171> know,<00:26:25.235> as<00:26:25.476> well,<00:26:25.956> but<00:26:26.181> when<00:26:26.341> it<00:26:26.421> goes<00:26:26.597> into<00:26:26.773> like<00:26:27.062> arrogance<00:26:27.478> or<00:26:27.623> ego,<00:26:27.879> like,<00:26:28.055> it's<00:26:28.200> such<00:26:28.376> a<00:26:28.504> turn-off<00:26:28.905> for<00:26:28.985> me.
00:26:29.642 --> 00:26:38.507
I<00:26:29.722> think<00:26:29.962> the<00:26:30.042> humility<00:26:30.587> to<00:26:30.683> not<00:26:30.924> want<00:26:31.068> to<00:26:31.164> be<00:26:31.260> the<00:26:31.388> smartest<00:26:31.805> person<00:26:32.061> in<00:26:32.125> the<00:26:32.350> room,<00:26:33.151> the<00:26:33.231> humility<00:26:34.048> to<00:26:34.529> be<00:26:34.689> able<00:26:34.849> to<00:26:35.010> course<00:26:35.330> correct<00:26:35.891> when<00:26:36.757> you've<00:26:36.917> made<00:26:37.078> a<00:26:37.094> wrong<00:26:37.335> decision,<00:26:38.362> right?
00:26:38.555 --> 00:26:53.486
Like<00:26:38.764> to<00:26:38.860> be<00:26:38.940> able<00:26:39.101> to<00:26:39.181> actually<00:26:39.583> like<00:26:40.225> listen<00:26:40.610> to<00:26:40.706> feedback<00:26:41.268> from<00:26:41.445> someone<00:26:42.392> and<00:26:42.472> not<00:26:42.633> just<00:26:42.858> be<00:26:42.954> defensive<00:26:43.596> because<00:26:43.837> you<00:26:43.917> feel<00:26:44.078> threatened<00:26:44.704> or,<00:26:44.945> you<00:26:44.977> know,<00:26:45.619> like<00:26:45.940> it<00:26:46.229> generally<00:26:46.791> takes<00:26:47.032> someone<00:26:47.979> having<00:26:48.252> to<00:26:48.332> be<00:26:48.557> like<00:26:48.766> fucked<00:26:49.055> around<00:26:49.296> a<00:26:49.312> little<00:26:49.552> in<00:26:49.681> life,<00:26:50.082> you<00:26:50.179> know,<00:26:50.419> and<00:26:50.564> like<00:26:50.740> fail<00:26:50.965> something<00:26:51.383> or<00:26:51.527> whatnot<00:26:51.880> to<00:26:52.009> cultivate<00:26:52.828> that<00:26:53.004> humility.
00:26:53.775 --> 00:26:57.114
It's<00:26:54.417> not<00:26:54.658> always,<00:26:55.782> you<00:26:55.878> know,<00:26:56.038> an<00:26:56.199> easy<00:26:56.424> path<00:26:56.681> to<00:26:56.825> get<00:26:57.002> there.
00:26:57.243 --> 00:26:58.784
Sometimes<00:26:57.644> life<00:26:57.804> forces<00:26:58.222> it<00:26:58.302> upon<00:26:58.607> you.
00:26:59.795 --> 00:27:01.963
But<00:26:59.892> I<00:27:00.036> think<00:27:00.277> that<00:27:00.373> humility<00:27:00.855> is<00:27:00.887> super<00:27:01.417> important.
00:27:03.006 --> 00:27:05.394
To<00:27:03.182> be<00:27:03.326> a<00:27:03.423> great<00:27:03.807> leader<00:27:04.128> and<00:27:04.224> to<00:27:04.384> build<00:27:04.561> a<00:27:04.689> great<00:27:04.865> company.
00:27:06.789 --> 00:27:09.851
And<00:27:06.885> again,<00:27:07.350> when<00:27:07.494> you<00:27:07.591> disagree<00:27:08.072> with<00:27:08.232> someone,<00:27:08.617> like,<00:27:08.793> by<00:27:09.017> all<00:27:09.130> means,<00:27:09.594> right?
00:27:09.899 --> 00:27:12.961
But<00:27:09.995> say,<00:27:10.107> like,<00:27:10.476> not<00:27:10.717> from<00:27:10.877> a<00:27:10.941> place<00:27:11.278> of<00:27:11.678> defensive<00:27:12.223> ego,<00:27:12.640> right?
00:27:13.025 --> 00:27:14.917
From<00:27:13.185> a<00:27:13.201> place<00:27:13.458> of<00:27:13.522> like,<00:27:13.746> actually,<00:27:14.067> here's<00:27:14.227> a<00:27:14.259> different<00:27:14.484> perspective.
00:27:14.965 --> 00:27:15.814
Here's<00:27:15.205> why<00:27:15.269> I<00:27:15.446> think<00:27:15.686> this.
00:27:16.007 --> 00:27:18.684
So<00:27:16.552> I'd<00:27:16.953> say<00:27:17.049> humility<00:27:17.594> is—<00:27:18.011> it's<00:27:18.155> really<00:27:18.395> up<00:27:18.572> there.
00:27:19.037 --> 00:27:28.879
I<00:27:19.790> think<00:27:19.950> someone<00:27:20.559> also,<00:27:20.976> just<00:27:21.104> as<00:27:21.233> a<00:27:21.297> side<00:27:21.601> note,<00:27:21.922> told<00:27:22.499> me<00:27:22.659> a<00:27:22.675> stat<00:27:23.044> that<00:27:23.140> was<00:27:23.301> really<00:27:23.557> interesting,<00:27:24.102> that<00:27:25.545> investor-founder<00:27:26.827> relationships<00:27:27.613> last<00:27:27.853> longer<00:27:28.110> than<00:27:28.254> most<00:27:28.430> marriages.
00:27:29.152 --> 00:27:31.543
Okay,<00:27:30.901> you<00:27:31.158> pick.
00:27:31.880 --> 00:27:36.709
Oh,<00:27:32.586> that's—<00:27:32.923> I<00:27:32.939> mean,<00:27:33.227> right,<00:27:33.404> like<00:27:33.564> 10-year<00:27:33.901> cycle,<00:27:34.527> right,<00:27:34.768> versus—<00:27:35.073> I'm<00:27:35.249> like,<00:27:35.474> that's<00:27:35.650> really<00:27:35.955> interesting,<00:27:36.452> right?
00:27:36.757 --> 00:27:45.245
So<00:27:37.656> at<00:27:37.752> the<00:27:37.897> end<00:27:37.993> of<00:27:38.057> the<00:27:38.137> day,<00:27:38.282> also,<00:27:38.859> you<00:27:38.939> know,<00:27:39.100> humility<00:27:39.581> really<00:27:39.982> makes<00:27:40.207> you<00:27:40.287> a<00:27:40.303> better<00:27:40.528> human<00:27:41.009> to<00:27:41.186> want<00:27:41.667> investors<00:27:42.309> to<00:27:42.469> want<00:27:42.614> to<00:27:42.710> be<00:27:42.870> in<00:27:42.951> that<00:27:43.111> relationship<00:27:43.512> with<00:27:43.657> you<00:27:43.817> for<00:27:43.913> a<00:27:43.978> long<00:27:44.218> time,<00:27:44.635> and<00:27:44.780> goes<00:27:44.956> both<00:27:45.117> ways.
00:27:45.582 --> 00:27:48.021
Um,<00:27:45.903> I<00:27:45.983> think<00:27:46.096> the<00:27:46.160> other<00:27:46.304> one<00:27:46.384> is<00:27:46.465> determination,<00:27:47.764> right?
00:27:48.085 --> 00:27:50.684
I<00:27:48.165> think<00:27:48.871> as<00:27:48.968> a<00:27:49.032> founder,<00:27:49.513> you<00:27:49.690> have<00:27:49.850> to<00:27:49.898> have<00:27:50.027> a<00:27:50.171> thick<00:27:50.331> skin.
00:27:50.813 --> 00:27:57.359
You<00:27:50.957> have<00:27:51.134> to<00:27:51.294> be<00:27:52.096> willing<00:27:52.417> to<00:27:52.562> hear<00:27:52.754> no<00:27:53.139> a<00:27:53.219> lot,<00:27:53.765> right,<00:27:54.246> and<00:27:54.343> not<00:27:54.583> get<00:27:54.824> disheartened,<00:27:55.706> you<00:27:55.803> know,<00:27:56.027> especially<00:27:56.509> in<00:27:56.573> like<00:27:56.749> fundraising.
00:27:57.712 --> 00:28:02.169
You<00:27:57.776> know,<00:27:57.872> you're<00:27:58.033> getting<00:27:58.337> off<00:27:58.433> a<00:27:58.449> meeting<00:27:58.818> where<00:27:58.931> someone<00:27:59.235> says<00:27:59.460> no,<00:27:59.716> and<00:27:59.860> then<00:28:00.197> 2<00:28:00.358> minutes<00:28:00.678> later<00:28:00.983> your<00:28:01.031> next<00:28:01.320> meeting<00:28:01.560> is<00:28:01.592> starting.
00:28:02.747 --> 00:28:05.424
And<00:28:03.757> people<00:28:03.965> can<00:28:04.142> smell<00:28:04.510> fear,<00:28:05.072> right?
00:28:05.472 --> 00:28:09.545
Like,<00:28:06.210> you<00:28:06.354> have<00:28:06.531> to<00:28:06.675> be<00:28:06.787> able<00:28:06.996> to<00:28:07.829> find<00:28:08.134> ways<00:28:08.359> to<00:28:08.519> ground<00:28:08.776> yourself,<00:28:09.417> right?
00:28:09.673 --> 00:28:15.831
And<00:28:09.802> to<00:28:09.898> be<00:28:10.058> able<00:28:10.219> to<00:28:10.619> continue<00:28:11.004> to<00:28:11.084> show<00:28:11.261> that<00:28:11.485> determination,<00:28:12.528> you<00:28:12.608> know,<00:28:13.650> if<00:28:14.051> you<00:28:14.227> believe<00:28:14.548> in<00:28:14.628> what<00:28:14.772> you're<00:28:14.949> building,<00:28:15.430> right?
00:28:16.296 --> 00:28:17.851
And<00:28:16.857> that<00:28:17.033> grit,<00:28:17.578> right?
00:28:17.915 --> 00:28:20.208
So,<00:28:18.075> I<00:28:18.156> think<00:28:18.396> determination<00:28:19.118> and<00:28:19.262> grit<00:28:19.454> are<00:28:19.502> kind<00:28:19.695> of<00:28:19.759> the<00:28:19.839> second.
00:28:20.256 --> 00:28:23.383
And<00:28:20.384> I<00:28:20.480> think<00:28:20.641> the<00:28:20.785> third<00:28:20.961> one<00:28:21.619> is<00:28:21.747> really<00:28:21.988> authenticity,<00:28:23.190> right?
00:28:23.431 --> 00:28:31.528
I<00:28:23.511> think<00:28:24.168> the<00:28:24.569> less<00:28:24.890> people<00:28:25.275> are<00:28:25.916> viewing<00:28:27.616> being<00:28:27.936> a<00:28:28.016> leader<00:28:28.401> as<00:28:28.610> putting<00:28:28.898> on<00:28:28.978> a<00:28:29.043> show<00:28:29.459> and<00:28:29.556> I<00:28:29.572> need<00:28:29.716> to<00:28:29.796> know<00:28:29.957> everything,<00:28:30.261> I<00:28:30.341> need<00:28:30.438> to<00:28:30.566> present,<00:28:31.207> right?
00:28:32.025 --> 00:28:33.885
And<00:28:32.169> much<00:28:32.426> more<00:28:32.586> being<00:28:32.827> authentic<00:28:33.324> in<00:28:33.404> their<00:28:33.548> journeys.
00:28:33.933 --> 00:28:36.145
I<00:28:33.965> mean,<00:28:34.109> I've<00:28:34.270> seen<00:28:34.446> that<00:28:34.590> even<00:28:34.831> on<00:28:35.793> LinkedIn.
00:28:36.258 --> 00:28:41.741
There<00:28:36.306> are<00:28:36.434> some<00:28:36.739> founders<00:28:37.236> that<00:28:37.300> are<00:28:37.396> sharing<00:28:37.861> very<00:28:38.278> vulnerable<00:28:38.743> things<00:28:39.176> around<00:28:39.480> like<00:28:40.026> how<00:28:40.202> hard<00:28:40.378> it<00:28:40.426> is<00:28:40.603> to<00:28:40.763> raise<00:28:41.228> or<00:28:41.324> whatnot.
00:28:41.886 --> 00:28:52.355
And<00:28:42.046> then<00:28:42.270> all<00:28:42.383> of<00:28:42.527> a<00:28:42.543> sudden<00:28:42.912> that<00:28:43.072> post<00:28:43.393> goes<00:28:43.649> viral<00:28:44.050> because<00:28:44.371> people<00:28:45.012> are<00:28:45.156> yearning<00:28:45.653> to<00:28:45.814> connect<00:28:46.199> with<00:28:46.295> someone<00:28:46.615> who's<00:28:46.840> being<00:28:47.577> authentic<00:28:47.994> about<00:28:48.219> their<00:28:48.379> journey<00:28:48.764> and<00:28:48.860> doesn't<00:28:49.085> have<00:28:49.261> everything<00:28:49.982> buttoned<00:28:50.367> up<00:28:51.249> and<00:28:51.329> is<00:28:51.426> being<00:28:51.666> real,<00:28:52.211> right?
00:28:52.404 --> 00:28:53.638
And<00:28:52.532> people<00:28:52.724> are<00:28:52.869> drawn<00:28:53.189> to<00:28:53.350> that.
00:28:54.488 --> 00:28:55.594
So<00:28:54.616> I<00:28:54.712> think<00:28:54.873> those<00:28:55.113> are<00:28:55.177> the<00:28:55.273> three.
00:28:55.754 --> 00:28:59.618
I<00:28:55.818> think<00:28:55.979> humility,<00:28:56.476> determination,<00:28:57.197> and<00:28:57.341> authenticity<00:28:57.918> would<00:28:57.998> be<00:28:58.143> the<00:28:58.223> ones<00:28:58.463> that<00:28:58.544> I<00:28:58.640> think<00:28:59.201> most<00:28:59.505> of.
00:28:59.666 --> 00:29:16.032
Speaking<00:29:00.066> of<00:29:00.163> authenticity,<00:29:01.108> um,<00:29:01.766> and<00:29:01.846> this<00:29:02.006> kind<00:29:02.150> of<00:29:02.182> goes<00:29:02.327> into<00:29:02.551> like<00:29:02.727> a<00:29:03.112> broader<00:29:03.433> question<00:29:03.769> around<00:29:04.154> like,<00:29:04.475> it<00:29:04.635> does<00:29:04.811> seem<00:29:05.052> like<00:29:05.292> CEOs<00:29:05.933> and<00:29:06.094> leaders<00:29:06.639> are,<00:29:07.360> um,<00:29:08.338> being<00:29:08.723> asked<00:29:09.043> to,<00:29:09.765> I<00:29:09.781> wouldn't<00:29:10.005> say<00:29:10.101> being<00:29:10.326> forced<00:29:10.566> to,<00:29:10.678> but<00:29:10.807> being<00:29:11.047> asked<00:29:11.207> to<00:29:11.303> kind<00:29:11.464> of<00:29:11.544> comment<00:29:11.945> on<00:29:12.089> things<00:29:12.329> outside<00:29:12.586> of<00:29:12.650> their<00:29:12.810> company,<00:29:13.371> outside<00:29:13.628> of<00:29:13.692> their<00:29:13.852> business,<00:29:14.590> even<00:29:14.734> outside<00:29:14.990> of<00:29:15.055> their<00:29:15.167> industry,<00:29:15.776> right?
00:29:16.353 --> 00:29:20.825
And<00:29:16.417> we've<00:29:16.593> seen<00:29:16.834> a<00:29:16.898> trend,<00:29:17.700> um,<00:29:18.357> lately<00:29:19.222> of<00:29:19.543> VCs<00:29:20.184> getting<00:29:20.505> political.
00:29:21.082 --> 00:29:22.767
Which<00:29:21.243> I<00:29:21.259> don't<00:29:21.467> remember<00:29:21.788> ever<00:29:21.949> happening<00:29:22.366> before.
00:29:23.730 --> 00:29:24.051
Right.
00:29:24.132 --> 00:29:31.322
And<00:29:24.212> so<00:29:24.533> I<00:29:24.677> wonder<00:29:25.560> what<00:29:25.720> you<00:29:25.817> think<00:29:26.202> about<00:29:26.523> that<00:29:26.844> and<00:29:26.940> what<00:29:27.261> role<00:29:27.646> you<00:29:27.823> think<00:29:28.288> like<00:29:28.545> investors<00:29:29.348> in<00:29:29.428> the<00:29:29.572> VC<00:29:29.974> community<00:29:30.535> has<00:29:30.808> in<00:29:30.937> all<00:29:31.049> of<00:29:31.193> this.
00:29:31.595 --> 00:29:32.509
It's<00:29:31.691> an<00:29:31.755> interesting<00:29:32.076> question.
00:29:32.943 --> 00:29:35.864
I<00:29:32.975> mean,<00:29:33.183> I<00:29:33.280> think<00:29:33.440> everyone's,<00:29:34.243> everyone's<00:29:34.644> getting<00:29:34.885> political,<00:29:35.623> right?
00:29:35.944 --> 00:29:41.112
It's<00:29:36.072> such<00:29:36.249> a,<00:29:36.313> it's<00:29:36.634> just<00:29:36.827> such<00:29:37.116> a,<00:29:37.774> it's<00:29:37.918> such<00:29:38.079> a<00:29:38.159> climate<00:29:38.640> that<00:29:38.737> we<00:29:38.881> haven't<00:29:39.138> been<00:29:39.764> used<00:29:40.021> to,<00:29:40.261> I<00:29:40.342> think,<00:29:40.486> historically.
00:29:41.224 --> 00:29:41.369
Right.
00:29:41.481 --> 00:29:45.445
So<00:29:41.930> it's<00:29:42.091> sort<00:29:42.203> of<00:29:42.332> natural,<00:29:43.214> um,<00:29:43.632> from<00:29:43.792> a<00:29:43.872> human<00:29:44.129> standpoint<00:29:44.595> that<00:29:44.675> that's<00:29:44.884> what<00:29:44.980> happens.
00:29:45.702 --> 00:30:00.352
You<00:29:45.798> know,<00:29:46.023> I,<00:29:47.002> I<00:29:47.083> think,<00:29:47.388> you<00:29:47.500> know,<00:29:47.709> as<00:29:47.966> VCs<00:29:48.432> are<00:29:48.593> asked<00:29:48.785> about<00:29:49.075> things<00:29:49.492> outside<00:29:49.878> of<00:29:49.958> their<00:29:50.119> wheelhouse,<00:29:50.617> whether<00:29:50.858> it's<00:29:51.018> politics<00:29:51.661> or<00:29:51.822> opinions<00:29:52.304> on<00:29:52.400> other<00:29:52.545> sectors<00:29:52.962> or<00:29:53.026> whatnot,<00:29:53.508> I<00:29:53.653> would<00:29:53.814> just<00:29:54.071> challenge<00:29:54.392> people<00:29:54.697> to<00:29:54.794> not<00:29:55.340> always<00:29:55.581> have<00:29:55.757> to<00:29:55.902> have<00:29:56.079> an<00:29:56.223> answer<00:29:56.882> if<00:29:56.978> it's<00:29:57.107> something<00:29:57.364> that<00:29:57.508> you're<00:29:57.605> not<00:29:57.782> super<00:29:58.167> well-versed<00:29:58.794> in,<00:29:59.677> you<00:29:59.709> know,<00:29:59.854> potentially.
00:30:00.400 --> 00:30:02.424
And<00:30:00.480> again,<00:30:00.609> I'm<00:30:00.689> not<00:30:00.882> talking<00:30:01.203> just<00:30:01.364> about<00:30:01.525> politics,<00:30:02.103> right?
00:30:02.729 --> 00:30:07.854
I<00:30:02.810> think,<00:30:03.613> you<00:30:03.645> know,<00:30:03.790> again,<00:30:04.175> my<00:30:04.432> early<00:30:04.673> founder<00:30:05.059> hat,<00:30:05.782> I<00:30:05.798> kind<00:30:06.039> of<00:30:06.119> thought<00:30:06.762> I<00:30:06.826> had<00:30:07.003> to<00:30:07.083> know<00:30:07.388> everything.
00:30:08.304 --> 00:30:11.147
So<00:30:08.464> like,<00:30:09.091> it<00:30:09.236> makes<00:30:09.477> you<00:30:09.573> always<00:30:09.798> have<00:30:09.958> an<00:30:10.055> answer<00:30:10.392> for<00:30:10.681> everything.
00:30:11.404 --> 00:30:15.706
And<00:30:11.501> sometimes<00:30:12.320> it's<00:30:12.529> okay<00:30:13.187> for<00:30:13.348> the<00:30:13.509> answer<00:30:13.830> to<00:30:13.910> be,<00:30:14.392> I'm<00:30:14.536> not<00:30:14.696> really<00:30:14.953> in<00:30:15.033> the<00:30:15.177> weeds<00:30:15.418> on<00:30:15.514> that.
00:30:15.899 --> 00:30:27.841
Like,<00:30:16.075> here's<00:30:16.251> how<00:30:16.380> I'm<00:30:16.556> thinking<00:30:16.861> about<00:30:17.181> it,<00:30:17.438> but<00:30:17.598> like<00:30:18.480> X,<00:30:18.640> Y,<00:30:18.864> and<00:30:18.976> Z.<00:30:19.826> Um,<00:30:20.163> and<00:30:20.259> I<00:30:20.483> think<00:30:20.724> that<00:30:21.108> my<00:30:21.445> early<00:30:21.686> founder<00:30:22.086> days,<00:30:22.712> I<00:30:22.888> didn't<00:30:23.144> even<00:30:23.433> think<00:30:23.673> that<00:30:23.834> was<00:30:23.994> a<00:30:24.234> viable<00:30:24.795> option<00:30:25.292> for<00:30:25.597> an<00:30:25.837> answer<00:30:26.495> or<00:30:26.735> anything,<00:30:27.553> right?
00:30:27.937 --> 00:30:33.804
Like,<00:30:28.482> and<00:30:28.643> I<00:30:28.739> think<00:30:28.883> that's<00:30:29.124> the<00:30:29.220> difference<00:30:29.685> of,<00:30:30.182> you<00:30:30.262> know,<00:30:30.358> maybe<00:30:30.598> some<00:30:30.807> of<00:30:30.839> that<00:30:30.983> is<00:30:31.207> age,<00:30:31.688> you<00:30:31.720> know,<00:30:31.849> or<00:30:31.881> maybe<00:30:32.121> some<00:30:32.282> of<00:30:32.346> that<00:30:32.490> again<00:30:32.682> is<00:30:32.746> just<00:30:32.907> life<00:30:33.147> experience.
00:30:33.868 --> 00:30:38.165
But,<00:30:34.654> um,<00:30:35.295> you<00:30:35.327> don't<00:30:35.696> have<00:30:35.888> to<00:30:35.968> know<00:30:36.113> everything,<00:30:36.353> especially<00:30:36.674> by<00:30:36.834> the<00:30:36.914> way<00:30:37.058> for<00:30:37.235> early<00:30:37.395> stage<00:30:37.700> companies.
00:30:38.357 --> 00:30:42.124
Like<00:30:38.822> an<00:30:39.062> okay<00:30:39.543> answer<00:30:40.104> is,<00:30:40.521> you<00:30:40.681> know<00:30:40.842> what,<00:30:41.306> that's<00:30:41.547> a<00:30:41.563> fair<00:30:41.868> point.
00:30:42.188 --> 00:30:43.086
You<00:30:42.220> have<00:30:42.364> a<00:30:42.429> question<00:30:42.637> to<00:30:42.685> bring<00:30:42.909> up.
00:30:43.150 --> 00:30:45.506
That's<00:30:43.310> something<00:30:43.631> we<00:30:43.711> would<00:30:43.807> love<00:30:44.048> your<00:30:44.208> help<00:30:44.448> to<00:30:44.609> kind<00:30:44.769> of<00:30:44.833> help<00:30:45.025> navigate.
00:30:45.571 --> 00:30:48.026
Here's<00:30:45.811> how<00:30:45.955> we're<00:30:46.100> thinking<00:30:46.292> about<00:30:46.517> it,<00:30:46.597> but<00:30:46.693> we<00:30:46.838> don't<00:30:46.998> have<00:30:47.111> everything<00:30:47.496> figured<00:30:47.817> out.
00:30:48.539 --> 00:30:50.851
Between<00:30:49.085> the<00:30:49.165> seed<00:30:49.358> and<00:30:49.422> the<00:30:49.583> A<00:30:49.759> is<00:30:49.888> when<00:30:49.984> we're<00:30:50.080> going<00:30:50.177> to<00:30:50.225> figure<00:30:50.466> out<00:30:50.690> X.
00:30:51.027 --> 00:30:51.894
This<00:30:51.188> is<00:30:51.268> what<00:30:51.364> we<00:30:51.509> do<00:30:51.653> know.
00:30:52.151 --> 00:30:55.008
And<00:30:52.312> that's<00:30:52.633> a<00:30:52.697> much<00:30:53.178> more,<00:30:53.756> that<00:30:53.901> kind<00:30:54.093> of<00:30:54.157> goes<00:30:54.302> back<00:30:54.462> to<00:30:54.543> humility.
00:30:55.522 --> 00:31:08.267
Like,<00:30:55.923> that's<00:30:56.469> a,<00:30:56.645> I<00:30:56.870> love<00:30:57.031> that<00:30:57.272> answer<00:30:57.609> from<00:30:57.849> founders<00:30:58.973> versus<00:30:59.856> no,<00:30:59.968> no,<00:31:00.161> because<00:31:00.578> it's<00:31:00.739> going<00:31:00.851> to<00:31:00.899> be<00:31:00.979> this<00:31:01.204> and<00:31:01.284> it's<00:31:01.397> not,<00:31:01.605> you<00:31:01.638> know,<00:31:02.023> because<00:31:02.344> again,<00:31:02.649> a<00:31:02.745> lot<00:31:02.986> of<00:31:03.146> that<00:31:03.387> kind<00:31:03.708> of<00:31:03.869> answer<00:31:04.190> comes<00:31:04.495> from<00:31:04.671> this<00:31:04.896> energy<00:31:05.313> of<00:31:05.458> like,<00:31:05.955> must<00:31:06.277> prove<00:31:06.742> I<00:31:06.903> know<00:31:07.095> things,<00:31:07.801> right?
00:31:08.748 --> 00:31:11.493
And<00:31:08.845> I<00:31:09.246> can<00:31:09.407> say<00:31:09.647> that<00:31:10.049> because<00:31:10.354> I've<00:31:10.530> been<00:31:10.691> there,<00:31:11.172> right?
00:31:11.638 --> 00:31:13.805
And<00:31:11.718> I<00:31:11.814> see<00:31:12.216> like<00:31:12.601> the<00:31:12.697> light<00:31:12.938> on<00:31:13.018> the<00:31:13.163> other<00:31:13.259> side<00:31:13.596> of<00:31:13.725> that.
00:31:14.367 --> 00:31:21.978
Um,<00:31:15.009> so<00:31:15.153> a<00:31:15.170> little<00:31:15.346> peripheral,<00:31:15.828> but<00:31:15.988> I<00:31:16.133> think<00:31:16.293> like<00:31:16.470> that's<00:31:16.711> kind<00:31:16.872> of<00:31:16.936> how<00:31:17.112> I<00:31:17.193> think<00:31:17.369> about,<00:31:17.819> you<00:31:17.851> know,<00:31:18.156> answering<00:31:18.557> things<00:31:18.798> outside<00:31:19.119> of<00:31:19.200> the,<00:31:19.665> outside<00:31:20.067> of,<00:31:20.484> you<00:31:20.581> know,<00:31:20.725> maybe<00:31:20.966> what<00:31:21.127> your<00:31:21.351> expertise<00:31:21.929> is.
00:31:22.170 --> 00:31:22.267
Yeah.
00:31:22.315 --> 00:31:27.838
Well,<00:31:22.491> another<00:31:22.796> thing<00:31:22.957> that<00:31:23.037> I'm<00:31:23.134> seeing<00:31:23.374> investors<00:31:23.776> do<00:31:23.936> in<00:31:24.017> VCs<00:31:24.643> is,<00:31:24.964> uh,<00:31:25.382> like<00:31:25.944> become<00:31:26.329> kind<00:31:26.505> of<00:31:26.746> like<00:31:26.971> media<00:31:27.453> companies.
00:31:28.015 --> 00:31:30.632
They're<00:31:28.127> starting<00:31:28.513> podcasts,<00:31:29.299> they're,<00:31:29.701> you<00:31:29.733> know,<00:31:29.942> publishing<00:31:30.359> and<00:31:30.439> stuff.
00:31:31.082 --> 00:31:31.884
What<00:31:31.178> do<00:31:31.306> you<00:31:31.387> think<00:31:31.563> of<00:31:31.628> that?
00:31:32.045 --> 00:31:33.506
Do<00:31:32.109> you,<00:31:32.286> do<00:31:32.334> you<00:31:32.366> have<00:31:32.527> plans<00:31:32.800> to<00:31:32.928> do<00:31:33.089> things<00:31:33.313> like<00:31:33.410> that?
00:31:33.570 --> 00:31:35.240
Or<00:31:33.651> maybe<00:31:33.827> you<00:31:33.972> already<00:31:34.197> are<00:31:34.293> doing<00:31:34.470> stuff<00:31:34.678> like<00:31:35.220> that.
00:31:35.240 --> 00:31:37.552
Um,<00:31:36.220> I<00:31:36.380> think<00:31:36.541> it's<00:31:36.766> really<00:31:37.023> interesting.
00:31:37.729 --> 00:31:45.300
You<00:31:37.761> know,<00:31:38.050> I<00:31:38.147> think,<00:31:38.933> you<00:31:39.030> know,<00:31:39.832> the<00:31:39.992> right<00:31:40.313> kind<00:31:40.554> of<00:31:40.634> investors<00:31:41.275> break<00:31:41.516> through<00:31:41.660> the<00:31:41.740> noise,<00:31:42.318> the<00:31:42.398> ones<00:31:42.622> that<00:31:42.719> have,<00:31:43.200> you<00:31:43.280> know,<00:31:43.584> a<00:31:43.665> lot<00:31:43.777> of<00:31:43.921> authenticity<00:31:44.482> and<00:31:44.563> a<00:31:44.643> real<00:31:44.803> perspective<00:31:45.204> to<00:31:45.252> add.
00:31:45.525 --> 00:31:48.299
Like,<00:31:45.749> I<00:31:45.829> love<00:31:46.006> Jason<00:31:46.311> Calacanis<00:31:47.289> and<00:31:47.593> all<00:31:47.674> that<00:31:47.850> he's<00:31:48.010> done.
00:31:48.876 --> 00:31:53.639
I'm<00:31:49.678> like<00:31:50.095> a<00:31:50.576> guest<00:31:50.817> judge<00:31:51.057> on<00:31:51.137> like<00:31:51.298> Launch<00:31:51.538> and<00:31:51.634> some<00:31:51.779> of<00:31:51.811> their<00:31:52.661> Founder<00:31:52.965> University<00:31:53.398> stuff.
00:31:53.703 --> 00:31:55.018
So<00:31:53.944> big<00:31:54.088> fan<00:31:54.328> of<00:31:54.409> what<00:31:54.505> they're<00:31:54.665> doing.
00:31:55.611 --> 00:31:57.087
I<00:31:56.429> think<00:31:56.589> it<00:31:56.621> depends.
00:31:57.151 --> 00:32:12.399
I<00:31:57.231> think<00:31:57.471> for<00:31:57.648> someone<00:31:58.033> to<00:31:58.113> feel<00:31:58.754> they<00:31:59.139> should<00:31:59.396> start<00:31:59.572> a<00:31:59.636> podcast,<00:32:00.422> you<00:32:00.502> know,<00:32:00.598> for<00:32:00.759> the<00:32:00.823> sake<00:32:01.015> of<00:32:01.079> starting<00:32:01.400> a<00:32:01.480> podcast,<00:32:02.266> unless<00:32:02.587> they<00:32:02.683> have<00:32:03.068> like,<00:32:03.629> you<00:32:03.709> know,<00:32:04.126> a<00:32:04.271> real<00:32:04.671> passion<00:32:05.153> for<00:32:05.473> it<00:32:05.714> and<00:32:05.810> perspective<00:32:06.676> you<00:32:06.772> know,<00:32:07.638> on<00:32:07.798> it<00:32:08.054> and<00:32:08.519> can<00:32:08.615> be<00:32:08.840> really<00:32:09.096> deeply<00:32:09.481> authentic,<00:32:10.138> you<00:32:10.218> know,<00:32:10.523> with—<00:32:10.940> I<00:32:11.020> think<00:32:11.164> people<00:32:11.405> can<00:32:11.501> see<00:32:11.725> through<00:32:11.886> that,<00:32:12.222> right?
00:32:12.463 --> 00:32:13.553
Viewers<00:32:12.767> can<00:32:12.928> see<00:32:13.104> through<00:32:13.264> that.
00:32:13.809 --> 00:32:16.278
Um,<00:32:14.386> so<00:32:14.466> I<00:32:14.611> think<00:32:14.771> great<00:32:15.188> folks<00:32:15.492> break<00:32:15.733> through<00:32:15.845> the<00:32:15.925> noise.
00:32:16.695 --> 00:32:19.308
Um,<00:32:17.127> it's<00:32:17.304> not<00:32:17.448> something<00:32:17.753> I'm<00:32:17.993> actively<00:32:18.394> thinking<00:32:18.698> about<00:32:19.115> now.
00:32:19.901 --> 00:32:36.460
Um,<00:32:20.558> but<00:32:20.718> I<00:32:20.879> think,<00:32:21.424> you<00:32:21.504> know,<00:32:22.065> intuitively<00:32:22.882> in<00:32:22.962> the<00:32:23.107> roadmap<00:32:23.604> down<00:32:23.828> the<00:32:23.924> line,<00:32:24.710> like<00:32:25.271> if<00:32:25.447> that's<00:32:25.752> where<00:32:25.944> sort<00:32:26.313> of<00:32:26.714> this<00:32:26.874> community<00:32:27.291> flows,<00:32:28.317> um,<00:32:28.974> I<00:32:29.054> think<00:32:29.294> it<00:32:29.358> would<00:32:29.519> be<00:32:30.080> something<00:32:30.352> that's<00:32:30.721> additive<00:32:31.458> to<00:32:31.635> our<00:32:31.763> community<00:32:32.420> because<00:32:32.965> to<00:32:33.061> be<00:32:33.206> able<00:32:33.366> to<00:32:33.526> highlight<00:32:33.879> such<00:32:34.119> amazing<00:32:34.568> people,<00:32:35.129> you<00:32:35.161> know,<00:32:35.322> there<00:32:35.626> makes<00:32:35.851> a<00:32:35.867> lot<00:32:36.027> of<00:32:36.107> sense.
00:32:36.732 --> 00:32:38.961
I<00:32:36.764> don't<00:32:36.973> think<00:32:37.069> we<00:32:37.229> would<00:32:37.390> ever<00:32:37.550> shift<00:32:37.871> to<00:32:38.015> like<00:32:38.191> a<00:32:38.400> media<00:32:38.576> business.
00:32:39.234 --> 00:32:45.879
It<00:32:39.314> would<00:32:39.459> only<00:32:39.700> be<00:32:39.796> if<00:32:39.972> it<00:32:40.101> would<00:32:40.197> kind<00:32:40.374> of<00:32:40.502> benefit<00:32:40.839> the<00:32:41.000> bigger<00:32:41.241> picture<00:32:41.722> of<00:32:42.204> helping<00:32:42.476> this<00:32:42.605> community<00:32:42.926> connect<00:32:43.247> with<00:32:43.343> each<00:32:43.568> other,<00:32:44.515> but<00:32:44.627> not<00:32:44.852> on<00:32:44.932> the<00:32:45.012> short-term<00:32:45.414> roadmap.
00:32:46.120 --> 00:32:47.420
Yeah,<00:32:46.537> yeah,<00:32:46.778> that<00:32:46.939> makes<00:32:47.163> sense.
00:32:47.500 --> 00:32:48.351
It<00:32:47.581> is<00:32:47.677> a<00:32:47.741> big<00:32:47.966> commitment.
00:32:48.688 --> 00:32:50.502
Um,<00:32:49.330> Juliette,<00:32:49.812> you've<00:32:49.908> been<00:32:50.052> amazing.
00:32:50.630 --> 00:32:57.709
We<00:32:50.871> end<00:32:51.032> every<00:32:51.272> interview<00:32:51.658> with<00:32:51.754> the<00:32:51.834> same<00:32:52.075> question,<00:32:52.476> and<00:32:52.556> that<00:32:52.733> is,<00:32:52.877> at<00:32:52.974> CEO.com,<00:32:53.921> we<00:32:54.065> believe<00:32:54.306> the<00:32:54.386> chances<00:32:54.803> one<00:32:55.189> gives<00:32:55.831> is<00:32:55.927> just<00:32:56.184> as<00:32:56.248> important<00:32:56.633> as<00:32:56.714> the<00:32:56.810> chances<00:32:57.131> one<00:32:57.291> takes.
00:32:57.773 --> 00:33:01.368
And<00:32:57.853> you<00:32:58.014> hear<00:32:58.254> that—<00:32:58.640> who<00:32:58.736> gave<00:32:58.977> you<00:32:59.137> a<00:32:59.153> chance<00:32:59.635> to<00:32:59.763> give<00:33:00.004> you—<00:33:00.341> to<00:33:00.485> get<00:33:00.662> you<00:33:00.742> to<00:33:00.823> where<00:33:00.967> you<00:33:01.128> are<00:33:01.160> today?
00:33:01.689 --> 00:33:08.091
Oh,<00:33:02.492> um,<00:33:03.182> my<00:33:03.391> first<00:33:04.177> real<00:33:04.418> job,<00:33:04.755> which<00:33:04.916> was<00:33:05.076> an<00:33:05.220> internship,<00:33:06.264> um,<00:33:07.082> was<00:33:07.306> with<00:33:07.466> Insight<00:33:07.707> Partners.
00:33:08.300 --> 00:33:23.681
So<00:33:08.444> between<00:33:08.748> my<00:33:08.908> junior<00:33:09.181> and<00:33:09.325> senior<00:33:09.629> year<00:33:10.671> at<00:33:10.751> Harvard,<00:33:11.632> um,<00:33:12.193> they—<00:33:12.994> back<00:33:13.314> then,<00:33:13.795> you<00:33:13.891> know,<00:33:14.051> a<00:33:14.132> lot<00:33:14.308> of<00:33:14.436> the<00:33:14.532> other<00:33:14.933> venture<00:33:15.317> funds<00:33:16.118> would<00:33:16.679> basically<00:33:17.016> have<00:33:17.256> deals<00:33:17.736> coming<00:33:18.602> from<00:33:18.778> the<00:33:18.858> partners<00:33:19.563> on<00:33:19.643> the<00:33:19.739> golf<00:33:20.044> courses<00:33:20.636> and<00:33:20.765> maybe<00:33:21.021> like<00:33:21.245> a<00:33:21.325> young<00:33:21.646> person<00:33:21.982> in<00:33:22.062> a<00:33:22.143> backroom<00:33:22.543> crunching<00:33:22.864> numbers<00:33:23.120> somewhere.
00:33:24.049 --> 00:33:34.287
And<00:33:24.209> they<00:33:24.370> were<00:33:24.466> really<00:33:24.770> one<00:33:24.866> of<00:33:24.930> the<00:33:25.010> first<00:33:25.427> to<00:33:25.587> flip<00:33:25.828> that<00:33:26.052> model<00:33:27.013> and<00:33:27.109> hire<00:33:27.991> young<00:33:28.615> and<00:33:28.776> hire<00:33:29.208> super,<00:33:29.897> you<00:33:29.929> know,<00:33:30.218> lean<00:33:30.410> and<00:33:30.554> thoughtfully,<00:33:31.740> um,<00:33:32.300> and<00:33:32.781> give<00:33:32.893> a<00:33:32.957> tremendous<00:33:33.598> amount<00:33:33.823> of<00:33:33.919> autonomy.
00:33:34.495 --> 00:33:47.183
So<00:33:35.040> I<00:33:35.120> started<00:33:35.377> in<00:33:35.505> venture<00:33:36.483> before<00:33:36.723> I<00:33:36.804> could<00:33:37.044> legally<00:33:37.429> have<00:33:37.526> a<00:33:37.606> glass<00:33:37.911> of<00:33:37.991> wine,<00:33:38.408> like<00:33:38.568> at<00:33:38.632> 20,<00:33:39.675> um,<00:33:40.317> and<00:33:41.151> literally<00:33:41.616> had<00:33:41.841> free<00:33:42.081> rein<00:33:42.274> to<00:33:42.402> speak<00:33:42.723> to,<00:33:43.285> you<00:33:43.317> know,<00:33:43.461> CEOs<00:33:43.798> of<00:33:43.878> any<00:33:44.022> companies<00:33:44.424> that<00:33:44.568> I<00:33:44.584> thought<00:33:44.809> were<00:33:44.905> interesting<00:33:45.322> and<00:33:45.466> loop<00:33:45.627> in<00:33:45.707> a<00:33:45.787> partner<00:33:46.108> kind<00:33:46.284> of<00:33:46.509> the<00:33:46.589> last<00:33:46.910> mile.
00:33:47.295 --> 00:33:53.198
And<00:33:47.728> so<00:33:47.969> many<00:33:48.193> other<00:33:48.354> funds<00:33:48.899> have<00:33:49.541> replicated<00:33:50.054> or<00:33:50.199> tried<00:33:50.439> to<00:33:50.584> replicate<00:33:51.225> what<00:33:51.402> Insight<00:33:51.706> has<00:33:51.867> done<00:33:52.124> with<00:33:52.268> that<00:33:52.444> cold<00:33:52.685> calling<00:33:52.942> model.
00:33:53.246 --> 00:33:56.262
Like<00:33:53.792> 80%<00:33:54.225> of<00:33:54.305> the<00:33:54.434> deals<00:33:54.690> came<00:33:54.995> from<00:33:55.091> this<00:33:55.316> analyst<00:33:55.573> and<00:33:55.653> associate<00:33:56.038> class.
00:33:56.310 --> 00:33:58.300
It<00:33:56.375> was<00:33:56.535> really<00:33:56.760> what<00:33:56.872> like<00:33:57.080> principals<00:33:57.530> do<00:33:57.658> at<00:33:57.722> other<00:33:57.963> funds.
00:33:58.524 --> 00:34:02.422
Um,<00:33:58.781> and<00:33:58.861> that<00:33:59.102> was<00:33:59.727> an<00:33:59.824> incredible<00:34:00.385> start,<00:34:01.251> um,<00:34:01.733> to<00:34:01.893> my<00:34:02.069> career.
00:34:02.936 --> 00:34:08.389
And<00:34:03.513> I'm<00:34:03.690> such<00:34:03.994> fans<00:34:04.620> of<00:34:05.021> all<00:34:05.053> the<00:34:05.182> original<00:34:05.759> partners<00:34:06.240> there<00:34:06.545> and<00:34:06.690> And<00:34:07.106> have<00:34:07.267> stayed<00:34:07.507> close<00:34:07.764> with<00:34:07.860> a<00:34:07.924> bunch.
00:34:08.870 --> 00:34:11.709
And<00:34:09.672> yeah,<00:34:09.993> that<00:34:10.153> was<00:34:10.314> really<00:34:10.554> kind<00:34:10.730> of<00:34:10.811> what<00:34:10.971> gave<00:34:11.131> me<00:34:11.228> my<00:34:11.372> start.
00:34:11.933 --> 00:34:14.435
Insight<00:34:12.254> Partners,<00:34:12.815> fantastic,<00:34:13.617> fantastic<00:34:14.178> group.
00:34:14.499 --> 00:34:16.712
They<00:34:15.044> have<00:34:15.156> invested<00:34:15.621> in<00:34:15.717> some<00:34:15.942> Utah<00:34:16.263> companies.
00:34:17.000 --> 00:34:19.662
I<00:34:17.080> know<00:34:17.369> that<00:34:17.465> they're<00:34:17.690> incredible<00:34:18.684> being<00:34:19.293> from<00:34:19.470> Utah.
00:34:20.175 --> 00:34:21.442
Julia,<00:34:20.672> thank<00:34:20.897> you<00:34:20.993> so<00:34:21.234> much.
00:34:21.586 --> 00:34:23.078
Thank<00:34:21.795> you<00:34:21.939> so<00:34:22.116> much<00:34:22.308> for<00:34:22.516> having<00:34:22.901> me.
00:34:23.238 --> 00:34:23.799
