Superside CEO Fredrik Thomassen: Adapting to modern tech in the creative industry

Show notes

Fredrik Thomassen wanted a teleport

Fredrik Thomassen sat down with the CEO.com Podcast on July 6, 2023. ChatGPT was eight months old. Superside, the creative services company he co-founded and runs from Oslo, had about 700 designers on staff and had spent the previous six months talking about AI in every meeting. Three years later, the company calls itself an AI-first creative partner, counts Amazon, Intuit, DoorDash, Figma, and Reddit as customers, and in March 2026 rebuilt its client platform around a system that stores a customer's brand guidelines and feedback and applies them to every new project. Most of what Thomassen said in 2023 explains how it got there.

He is Norwegian. He studied econometrics at the London School of Economics, worked as a journalist at Agderposten, did a stint at McKinsey, and tried a PhD. "I'm one of those guys that doesn't really enjoy having a boss," he told the CEO.com Podcast. "I've had some great bosses. They're definitely out there. But I've always been searching for freedom in a way." Academia did not give him that. "It felt like the world of start-ups was the only other way to be free."

Jakarta

His first startup was someone else's. In 2014, he became CEO of Zalora Indonesia, a fashion e-commerce company that had 70 employees when he arrived and 750 when he left. He liked it. He also noticed something about the people he was hiring.

"I met some incredibly talented people and just really thought it's pretty unfair that if people live in Indonesia, if they could magically teleport to America, they could make 10 times as much," he said. "We wanted to create that magical teleport."

The first version was a freelancer marketplace called Konsus. Thomassen and his co-founder had used Upwork, Fiverr, and 99designs and been underwhelmed, so they built one where every freelancer was vetted. They got into Y Combinator's winter 2016 batch, the first Norwegian startup to do so, with Sam Altman and Geoff Ralston as their group partners. On Antler's Early Days podcast he has said the first product was assembled by hand, with no engineers and no code, and that when someone asks what Superside does at a wedding he says "a design agency" so he can get back to the bar.

Y Combinator's advice fit on a T-shirt. "Talk to your customers and write code," Thomassen said. "Very few companies actually do that." Superside added a condition. "For us, the crucial thing is to actually listen to the customers and be truth-seeking about it. Are they really liking what you're selling? What are their real problems?" The other two he names are speed and kindness, as he laid out on the Supermanagers podcast.

2019

For its first three or four years, Superside doubled annually. Y Combinator partners asked whether the company had product-market fit, and Thomassen said yes. Customers were paying. The company was growing.

"But the customers didn't really enjoy it that much," he said. "It was more like forcing customers, spending on marketing and being good at that. But it wasn't like growth driven by people just telling their friends, 'Hey, you should really check out this whole Superside thing.'" Retention was poor, and referrals were rare.

Within about a year, the company made three changes. It dropped everything except design. It moved from per-project pricing to subscriptions. And it replaced most of its freelancers with full-time employees who could still set their own hours. "After a while, it certainly started running downhill," he said. "Customers came knocking at our doors and everything just felt super, super easy. That's when I realized that we now have product market fit and realized that we didn't have it earlier."

Now he says the test is binary. "If you're truly honest to it yourself, you either know it or you don't."

The subscription idea came from larger customers who were unhappy with their agencies. They found them disorganized. They suspected the agencies cared more about awards and portfolios than whether the work got done. The buying process, with custom RFPs and months of pitching, wore everyone down before anything was designed. Superside's response was to publish a plan and refuse to negotiate it. "We say, 'Hey, this is the plan. You can buy it, or you can not buy it,'" Thomassen said. Customers told him it was a relief not to have to fight about things. He compared agencies to home renovation contractors: whole industries where relationships usually end in conflict.

Oslo

Thomassen lived in California for a couple of years after Y Combinator and then moved home. He wanted his family near everyone. He also wanted to keep competing in the American market, and Oslo does not have enough sales, marketing, and product leaders to staff a company that does that. "There really isn't any other option," he said. Superside has been fully remote since.

He does not describe it as a workaround. "Our mission all along since the start has been to create more equal opportunities in the world," he said. "I think free migration would be great for everyone in the world, but it's obviously not happening. There's this tendency to just not want to let people into your country. And so really the internet is the only hope in many ways for a fair global marketplace. For us, remote work is really just an ethical imperative more than anything else."

Remote companies fail, he said, for the same reason offices fail, only faster. "Bad management just makes it extremely terrible to work in a remote company." No clear objective, unclear roles, no KPIs, no feedback loop. Companies with those problems went remote in 2020 and blamed the format. Superside's answer is unglamorous: hire on values, get the basics right, and skip the ideology. Some remote companies ban meetings and go all-async. "We are not really extremist on any of those things."

He borrowed from Paul Graham's essay on what cities tell their residents to explain why he stayed. New York tells you to get rich. Silicon Valley tells you to get powerful. "Oslo sends you a signal that being in nature and being outdoors a lot and taking care of yourself and being more in balance with that is really important." He added that Norwegians tend to admire America and are grateful for how they are received there, then said the thing he is proudest of about Oslo is its environmental conscience, "despite the whole oil and gas history."

Denial

In July 2023, Thomassen already had a number. Superside would cut the time each task took by 15 to 20 percent every quarter for the next 12 months and pass the savings to customers. For banner ads, illustrations, and redesigns he expected the reductions to reach 70 percent.

The subscription model made this rational where hourly billing does not. "A traditional agency will not have any incentives to do that because you get paid by the hour and if you log fewer hours, then you essentially lose money," he said. "For us it's different because we have this subscription model and so our incentives are much more aligned with the customers."

Was AI a threat or an opportunity? "We don't really know yet. It is definitely both."

On the larger question, whether AI endangers humanity, he was candid about not having an argument. "I just find it odd that humanity as we know it should be disrupted by a statistical model. It's just hard for me to grasp, but maybe I just refuse to believe it." He said quantum computing worried him more, because it would break encryption. Then he said what he suspected was really going on: "I said I just live in denial about the existential realistic aspects."

He was clearer about design. A typical 20-hour project, he said, spends 10 to 15 of those hours on research, competitive analysis, and understanding the problem. AI collapses the sketching and production in the middle. "I still haven't seen AI by itself moving the needle on culture per se. By itself, I haven't seen it come up with anything that is interesting. It is to me just ultimately a force multiplier on human creativity." He predicted small groups, maybe individuals, would make films the way one person writes a book.

Superside credits Sam Altman, Thomassen's group partner at Y Combinator in 2016, with getting it to experiment with AI early. By 2025 the company was showing on camera how it produces hundreds of ad variations in minutes. Thomassen told the Not Another CEO Podcast in early 2025 that the arrival of large language models meant pivoting the company for something like the fifth time, and that it threw out OKRs after they turned into paperwork and replaced them with quarterly reviews built around the company's worst problems.

Sam Altman

Every CEO.com Podcast episode ends with the same question. The chances one gives are just as important as the chances one takes. Who gave you a chance?

During Superside's Y Combinator batch, Altman walked in one day and offered to fund the entire seed round himself. He was already president of Y Combinator. The founders asked him why, given he had seen them maybe 10 times.

"He is just like, 'Okay, I believe work is huge. I believe services should be disrupted. You guys seem like smart guys. You can probably figure it out,'" Thomassen said. "Then we just tried to do our best to figure it out. It was the first time someone took a chance on us in a way and took a chance on us in the sense of investing a lot of their own money."

Superside raised a $30 million Series A in December 2021, co-led by Prosus Ventures and Lugard Road Capital, with Slack Fund among the earlier investors. TechCrunch reported at the time that the company had raised only $5.5 million before that round. It has announced no funding since. Thomassen closed the conversation by saying he hoped to see some Utah snow the following winter. Betts told him to come out, and they would go down the slopes. "Will try my best," he said.

Yeah,<00:00:26.351> good<00:00:26.528> question.

00:00:26.996 --> 00:00:36.674
I'm<00:00:28.381> one<00:00:28.542> of<00:00:28.607> those<00:00:28.849> guys<00:00:29.187> that<00:00:29.735> don't<00:00:30.556> really<00:00:30.718> enjoy<00:00:32.071> having<00:00:32.329> a<00:00:32.409> boss,<00:00:32.893> and<00:00:34.246> I've<00:00:35.307> had<00:00:35.709> some<00:00:35.950> great<00:00:36.191> bosses<00:00:36.577> there.

They're<00:00:36.915> definitely<00:00:38.185> out<00:00:38.362> there,<00:00:38.523> but<00:00:38.748> I've<00:00:38.925> always<00:00:39.246> been<00:00:40.613> kind<00:00:40.790> of<00:00:40.854> searching<00:00:41.337> for<00:00:43.009> freedom<00:00:44.632> in<00:00:44.728> a<00:00:44.793> way,<00:00:45.677> and<00:00:45.902> tried<00:00:46.384> initially<00:00:46.866> to<00:00:47.027> go<00:00:47.188> into<00:00:47.831> academia<00:00:49.197> and<00:00:49.293> try<00:00:49.454> to<00:00:49.615> do<00:00:49.775> a<00:00:49.920> PhD,<00:00:50.643> and<00:00:51.506> um,<00:00:52.251> and<00:00:52.332> quickly<00:00:52.656> learned<00:00:52.883> it<00:00:52.981> wasn't<00:00:53.548> for<00:00:53.645> me,<00:00:53.856> and<00:00:54.261> it<00:00:54.358> kind<00:00:54.585> of<00:00:54.666> felt<00:00:54.925> like<00:00:55.882> the<00:00:55.979> world<00:00:56.157> of<00:00:56.287> startups<00:00:57.032> was<00:00:57.356> the<00:00:57.988> only<00:00:58.167> other<00:00:58.394> way<00:00:58.572> to,<00:00:59.607> um,<00:01:00.189> be<00:01:00.286> free.

00:01:02.437 --> 00:01:12.188
And<00:01:02.922> I<00:01:02.954> know<00:01:03.488> you<00:01:03.585> were,<00:01:04.393> before,<00:01:05.283> uh,<00:01:05.525> Superside,<00:01:06.156> which<00:01:06.253> we'll<00:01:06.415> get<00:01:06.576> to,<00:01:06.803> you<00:01:06.900> were<00:01:07.062> the<00:01:07.320> CEO<00:01:07.870> and<00:01:08.000> co-founder<00:01:08.420> of<00:01:08.452> another<00:01:08.840> company,<00:01:10.231> Zalora<00:01:11.023> Indonesia,<00:01:11.670> is<00:01:11.751> that<00:01:11.978> right?

00:01:13.110 --> 00:01:13.950
Yeah,<00:01:13.287> exactly.

00:01:13.999 --> 00:01:18.126
I<00:01:14.096> was<00:01:14.339> a<00:01:14.484> part<00:01:14.807> of,<00:01:14.985> uh,<00:01:16.036> building<00:01:16.667> up<00:01:16.910> a<00:01:17.168> company<00:01:17.477> at<00:01:17.670> that<00:01:17.915> point.

00:01:18.214 --> 00:01:43.353
It<00:01:18.389> was<00:01:20.671> an<00:01:21.089> established<00:01:21.555> company<00:01:22.679> and<00:01:22.775> they<00:01:22.824> had<00:01:22.952> 70<00:01:23.273> people<00:01:23.643> and<00:01:23.836> I<00:01:23.900> kind<00:01:24.141> of<00:01:25.651> got<00:01:26.631> an<00:01:26.711> offer<00:01:26.936> to<00:01:27.097> come<00:01:27.273> down<00:01:27.450> and<00:01:27.579> help<00:01:28.719> try<00:01:28.960> to<00:01:29.040> build<00:01:30.647> an<00:01:30.791> e-commerce<00:01:31.129> company<00:01:32.237> in<00:01:32.398> Indonesia<00:01:32.880> and<00:01:33.040> it<00:01:33.683> was<00:01:33.795> a<00:01:33.860> fantastic<00:01:35.129> experience<00:01:35.627> but<00:01:36.173> not<00:01:36.414> kind<00:01:36.655> of,<00:01:38.036> you<00:01:38.116> know,<00:01:38.261> wasn't<00:01:38.438> part<00:01:38.743> of<00:01:38.839> the<00:01:39.096> zero<00:01:39.643> to<00:01:39.867> one<00:01:40.751> journey<00:01:41.072> and<00:01:41.169> wanted<00:01:41.554> to<00:01:41.667> do<00:01:41.811> that<00:01:43.112> again.

00:01:43.401 --> 00:01:44.654
The<00:01:43.498> company<00:01:43.819> went<00:01:44.542> well.

00:01:44.783 --> 00:01:51.400
I<00:01:44.799> mean,<00:01:45.008> we<00:01:45.104> took<00:01:45.329> it<00:01:45.409> from<00:01:45.683> 70<00:01:46.148> people<00:01:46.470> to<00:01:47.128> 750<00:01:48.079> people,<00:01:48.482> the<00:01:48.563> largest<00:01:49.046> fashion<00:01:49.385> e-commerce<00:01:49.852> company<00:01:50.239> in<00:01:50.900> Indonesia.

00:01:51.448 --> 00:01:52.689
So<00:01:51.625> fantastic<00:01:52.496> journey.

00:01:52.738 --> 00:02:04.250
And<00:01:52.915> along<00:01:53.173> the<00:01:53.302> way,<00:01:53.495> met<00:01:53.802> some<00:01:54.769> incredibly<00:01:55.172> talented<00:01:57.100> people<00:01:57.485> and<00:01:57.662> just<00:01:58.064> really<00:01:58.385> thought,<00:02:00.458> you<00:02:00.571> know,<00:02:00.715> it's<00:02:00.860> pretty<00:02:01.037> unfair<00:02:01.438> that<00:02:02.322> these<00:02:02.418> people<00:02:02.692> live<00:02:02.820> in<00:02:03.929> Indonesia.

00:02:04.315 --> 00:02:09.412
If<00:02:04.475> they<00:02:04.540> could<00:02:04.636> magically<00:02:05.038> teleport<00:02:05.681> to<00:02:06.662> America,<00:02:07.145> they,<00:02:07.788> they<00:02:07.868> can<00:02:08.013> make<00:02:08.270> 10<00:02:08.511> times<00:02:09.058> as<00:02:09.235> much.

00:02:09.557 --> 00:02:14.008
And,<00:02:10.522> and<00:02:10.763> then<00:02:10.908> we<00:02:11.004> kind<00:02:11.245> of<00:02:11.470> wanted<00:02:11.728> to<00:02:11.888> create<00:02:12.210> that<00:02:12.638> magical<00:02:13.670> teleport.

00:02:14.137 --> 00:02:15.797
Oh,<00:02:15.120> that's<00:02:15.604> cool.

00:02:16.071 --> 00:02:16.668
I<00:02:16.168> love<00:02:16.394> that.

00:02:17.135 --> 00:02:20.648
And<00:02:17.216> then,<00:02:17.441> uh,<00:02:17.602> you<00:02:17.715> start<00:02:18.005> working<00:02:18.247> on<00:02:18.344> Superside,<00:02:19.085> you<00:02:19.214> actually<00:02:19.472> get<00:02:19.633> into<00:02:19.859> Y<00:02:20.100> Combinator.

00:02:21.327 --> 00:02:24.630
Uh,<00:02:21.505> what<00:02:21.650> was<00:02:21.829> that<00:02:22.007> experience<00:02:22.622> like<00:02:24.403> for<00:02:24.565> us?

00:02:24.678 --> 00:02:26.054
It<00:02:24.824> was<00:02:25.229> incredible.

00:02:26.103 --> 00:02:53.649
I'm<00:02:26.265> a<00:02:27.252> big<00:02:27.495> believer<00:02:27.819> in<00:02:28.143> culture<00:02:28.709> and<00:02:30.083> values,<00:02:30.629> and,<00:02:31.031> um,<00:02:32.075> I<00:02:32.107> think<00:02:32.316> Y<00:02:32.493> Combinator<00:02:33.023> has<00:02:33.361> a<00:02:33.457> pretty<00:02:34.903> incredibly<00:02:35.321> efficient<00:02:36.333> way<00:02:36.590> of<00:02:37.233> instilling<00:02:37.859> the<00:02:38.277> importance<00:02:39.064> of<00:02:39.474> that<00:02:39.823> into<00:02:41.131> its<00:02:41.309> founders<00:02:43.495> and<00:02:43.576> helping<00:02:43.900> everyone<00:02:44.288> think<00:02:44.564> about<00:02:45.584> culture<00:02:45.843> and<00:02:46.005> values<00:02:46.394> a<00:02:46.410> lot<00:02:47.624> and<00:02:47.705> really<00:02:47.932> creating<00:02:48.353> a<00:02:48.369> set<00:02:48.612> of<00:02:48.677> values<00:02:49.082> that<00:02:49.711> I<00:02:49.873> believe<00:02:50.841> are<00:02:50.938> very<00:02:51.099> important<00:02:51.729> for<00:02:51.825> a<00:02:51.842> successful<00:02:53.359> company.

00:02:53.746 --> 00:02:55.828
And,<00:02:54.327> you<00:02:54.392> know,<00:02:54.488> they<00:02:54.585> make<00:02:54.811> t-shirts<00:02:55.295> and<00:02:55.441> everything.

00:02:55.876 --> 00:03:00.034
And,<00:02:56.732> you<00:02:56.829> know,<00:02:56.893> I<00:02:56.990> think<00:02:57.393> it<00:02:57.539> says,<00:02:57.861> you<00:02:57.942> know,<00:02:58.103> talk<00:02:58.265> to<00:02:58.330> your<00:02:58.426> customers<00:02:59.166> and<00:02:59.311> write<00:02:59.632> code.

00:03:01.321 --> 00:03:05.567
And<00:03:02.045> very<00:03:02.221> few<00:03:02.366> companies<00:03:02.768> actually<00:03:04.071> do<00:03:04.232> that,<00:03:05.341> you<00:03:05.454> know.

00:03:05.679 --> 00:03:27.595
And<00:03:06.597> For<00:03:06.743> us,<00:03:06.857> it's<00:03:07.003> been<00:03:07.880> part<00:03:08.075> of<00:03:08.123> our<00:03:08.237> ethos<00:03:08.627> since<00:03:09.845> the<00:03:09.926> start,<00:03:10.478> and<00:03:10.884> we're<00:03:10.982> trying<00:03:11.371> to<00:03:11.550> build<00:03:12.849> a<00:03:12.914> company<00:03:13.336> that<00:03:13.482> our<00:03:13.580> customers<00:03:14.067> actually<00:03:15.264> like,<00:03:15.668> and<00:03:16.412> we<00:03:16.477> try<00:03:16.654> to<00:03:16.800> ask<00:03:17.042> them<00:03:17.463> what<00:03:17.624> they<00:03:17.786> think<00:03:18.352> instead<00:03:18.821> of,<00:03:20.842> you<00:03:20.874> know,<00:03:21.020> just<00:03:21.408> following<00:03:21.683> our<00:03:21.828> gut<00:03:22.216> or,<00:03:23.429> you<00:03:23.980> know,<00:03:24.172> based<00:03:24.494> on<00:03:24.799> any<00:03:24.960> other<00:03:25.394> type<00:03:26.728> of<00:03:27.210> metrics.

00:03:27.660 --> 00:03:38.286
So<00:03:28.495> that's<00:03:28.672> been—<00:03:28.897> yeah,<00:03:29.395> it's<00:03:29.636> been<00:03:29.781> a<00:03:29.797> great<00:03:30.745> experience,<00:03:31.243> and<00:03:31.324> we<00:03:31.372> were<00:03:31.484> very<00:03:31.725> fortunate<00:03:32.191> to<00:03:32.288> get<00:03:32.593> some<00:03:32.770> of<00:03:32.931> the<00:03:33.773> Y<00:03:33.933> Combinator<00:03:35.299> partners<00:03:35.781> as<00:03:35.957> our<00:03:36.166> first<00:03:36.664> investors<00:03:38.029> as<00:03:38.174> well.

00:03:38.351 --> 00:03:42.495
Truly<00:03:39.459> a<00:03:39.619> transformative<00:03:40.599> experience<00:03:41.145> for<00:03:41.226> us<00:03:41.724> in<00:03:41.884> so<00:03:42.061> many<00:03:42.270> ways.

00:03:43.715 --> 00:03:57.850
Going<00:03:43.956> deeper<00:03:44.277> on<00:03:44.374> like<00:03:44.599> the<00:03:44.679> whole<00:03:44.936> like<00:03:45.241> ask<00:03:45.482> your<00:03:45.579> customer<00:03:46.125> what<00:03:46.301> they<00:03:46.526> want,<00:03:46.847> how<00:03:46.944> do<00:03:47.088> you<00:03:47.185> serve<00:03:47.570> them<00:03:47.908> rather<00:03:48.213> than<00:03:48.373> just<00:03:48.534> kind<00:03:48.695> of<00:03:48.807> assuming,<00:03:49.915> what<00:03:50.012> are<00:03:50.092> some<00:03:50.333> of<00:03:50.397> the<00:03:50.494> strategies<00:03:51.345> that<00:03:51.441> they've<00:03:51.859> taught<00:03:52.084> you<00:03:52.180> at<00:03:52.309> Y<00:03:52.485> Combinator<00:03:53.047> or<00:03:53.112> that<00:03:53.353> you've<00:03:53.594> used<00:03:53.947> over<00:03:54.172> the<00:03:54.316> years<00:03:55.376> to<00:03:55.923> help<00:03:56.260> with<00:03:56.404> that?

00:03:59.938 --> 00:04:19.476
So<00:04:00.195> I<00:04:00.276> think<00:04:01.465> there's<00:04:01.786> all<00:04:01.866> kinds<00:04:02.123> of<00:04:02.284> ways<00:04:02.750> that<00:04:03.569> talking<00:04:04.067> to<00:04:04.212> customers<00:04:04.871> and,<00:04:05.722> um,<00:04:06.285> you<00:04:06.317> know,<00:04:06.526> you<00:04:06.590> have,<00:04:07.024> you<00:04:07.088> have<00:04:07.184> all<00:04:07.281> kinds<00:04:07.506> of<00:04:07.988> tools<00:04:08.486> and,<00:04:09.337> um,<00:04:10.558> and<00:04:10.799> ways<00:04:11.105> of<00:04:11.426> doing<00:04:11.683> user<00:04:12.004> research<00:04:12.888> and<00:04:13.113> all<00:04:13.209> this,<00:04:14.077> all<00:04:14.157> these<00:04:14.495> things,<00:04:14.896> but<00:04:16.085> it's<00:04:16.487> not<00:04:16.664> necessarily<00:04:17.226> that,<00:04:17.772> um,<00:04:18.592> complicated.

00:04:19.556 --> 00:04:23.283
You<00:04:19.717> just<00:04:19.941> have<00:04:20.182> to<00:04:20.279> like<00:04:20.665> actually<00:04:21.725> talk<00:04:21.950> to<00:04:22.062> them<00:04:22.191> in,<00:04:22.528> in<00:04:22.625> a<00:04:22.673> normal<00:04:23.171> way.

00:04:24.199 --> 00:04:33.378
But<00:04:24.296> I<00:04:24.376> think<00:04:24.521> for<00:04:24.681> us,<00:04:24.778> the<00:04:24.938> crucial<00:04:26.288> thing<00:04:26.465> is<00:04:26.610> to<00:04:26.787> actually<00:04:28.217> listen<00:04:28.700> to<00:04:29.600> the<00:04:29.680> customers<00:04:30.484> and<00:04:30.645> be<00:04:31.030> truth-seeking<00:04:32.734> about<00:04:33.136> it.

00:04:34.966 --> 00:04:38.018
Are<00:04:35.046> they<00:04:35.143> really<00:04:35.450> liking<00:04:36.015> what<00:04:36.419> you're<00:04:37.566> selling?

00:04:39.326 --> 00:04:41.247
What<00:04:39.729> are<00:04:39.826> their<00:04:40.149> real<00:04:40.714> problems?

00:04:41.810 --> 00:04:44.301
How<00:04:41.907> can<00:04:42.068> you<00:04:43.120> truly<00:04:43.395> help<00:04:43.961> solve<00:04:44.188> them?

00:04:44.349 --> 00:04:56.935
And<00:04:44.511> so<00:04:45.385> for<00:04:45.547> us,<00:04:46.792> it's<00:04:47.019> critical<00:04:47.585> that<00:04:47.828> the<00:04:48.297> talk-to-customer<00:04:52.524> framework<00:04:52.994> is<00:04:53.092> kind<00:04:53.238> of<00:04:53.400> coupled<00:04:53.740> with<00:04:54.454> this<00:04:54.632> very<00:04:54.876> strong<00:04:55.865> sense<00:04:56.189> of<00:04:56.319> truth-seeking.

00:04:56.984 --> 00:05:08.982
And<00:04:57.454> here<00:04:57.568> at<00:04:57.698> Superside,<00:04:59.190> seek<00:04:59.498> the<00:04:59.644> truth<00:04:59.984> is<00:05:00.082> kind<00:05:00.292> of<00:05:00.325> our<00:05:00.520> second<00:05:02.106> most<00:05:02.429> important<00:05:03.465> value,<00:05:04.015> and<00:05:04.938> it's<00:05:05.067> something<00:05:05.391> that<00:05:05.650> we,<00:05:06.459> we<00:05:06.605> try<00:05:06.945> to<00:05:07.025> get<00:05:07.268> everyone<00:05:07.656> to,<00:05:08.465> to,<00:05:08.788> to<00:05:08.885> do.

00:05:10.922 --> 00:05:11.326
I<00:05:10.938> like<00:05:11.148> that.

00:05:11.375 --> 00:05:13.993
So<00:05:11.536> what<00:05:11.633> was<00:05:11.795> the<00:05:11.956> original<00:05:12.441> idea<00:05:13.007> behind<00:05:13.347> Superside?

00:05:14.058 --> 00:05:17.259
Like,<00:05:14.220> when<00:05:14.317> you<00:05:14.430> were<00:05:14.543> pitching<00:05:14.769> it,<00:05:14.866> when<00:05:15.028> you<00:05:15.109> were<00:05:15.190> starting<00:05:15.610> it,<00:05:15.755> what<00:05:15.917> was<00:05:16.079> the<00:05:16.224> problem<00:05:16.644> you<00:05:16.725> were<00:05:16.806> trying<00:05:17.032> to<00:05:17.065> solve?

00:05:18.615 --> 00:05:39.403
So<00:05:18.840> initially<00:05:19.260> we<00:05:19.421> were<00:05:19.582> spending<00:05:19.904> a<00:05:19.921> lot<00:05:20.146> of<00:05:20.227> time<00:05:20.549> on<00:05:21.371> Upwork<00:05:21.919> and<00:05:22.161> Fiverr<00:05:22.629> and<00:05:23.290> 99designs<00:05:24.644> and<00:05:24.741> these<00:05:24.902> platforms<00:05:25.547> and<00:05:26.433> kind<00:05:26.611> of<00:05:26.675> were<00:05:27.078> a<00:05:27.159> little<00:05:27.384> bit<00:05:27.530> underwhelmed<00:05:28.111> with<00:05:28.934> the<00:05:29.079> experience,<00:05:29.644> but<00:05:29.806> we<00:05:29.838> still<00:05:30.306> thought,<00:05:30.548> you<00:05:30.645> know,<00:05:31.420> freelancer<00:05:31.905> marketplaces<00:05:32.792> are<00:05:35.472> the<00:05:35.634> big<00:05:35.795> platforms,<00:05:36.280> they<00:05:36.360> will<00:05:36.506> reshape,<00:05:37.019> they<00:05:37.102> will<00:05:37.185> become<00:05:37.499> the<00:05:37.599> future<00:05:39.072> of<00:05:39.321> work.

00:05:41.270 --> 00:05:57.941
And<00:05:41.433> then<00:05:42.660> we<00:05:42.742> kind<00:05:42.988> of,<00:05:43.652> wanted<00:05:43.973> to<00:05:44.133> build<00:05:44.390> a<00:05:44.454> platform<00:05:45.177> that<00:05:45.642> ensured<00:05:46.782> that<00:05:47.087> all<00:05:47.120> the<00:05:47.248> freelancers<00:05:48.131> on<00:05:48.934> the<00:05:49.014> marketplace<00:05:49.656> were<00:05:50.009> super<00:05:50.379> high<00:05:50.555> quality<00:05:51.904> because<00:05:52.241> we've<00:05:52.466> had<00:05:52.658> ourselves<00:05:53.108> had<00:05:53.285> so<00:05:53.525> many<00:05:54.392> subpar<00:05:54.890> experiences<00:05:55.693> on<00:05:56.078> Upwork<00:05:57.443> and<00:05:57.603> Fiverr.

00:06:22.356 --> 00:06:34.732
And<00:06:22.453> so<00:06:23.240> today<00:06:23.642> we're<00:06:23.803> kind<00:06:23.980> of<00:06:24.060> a<00:06:24.125> hybrid<00:06:24.687> between<00:06:25.748> a<00:06:25.813> freelancer<00:06:26.279> marketplace<00:06:27.002> and<00:06:27.806> traditional<00:06:29.095> advertising<00:06:29.674> agency,<00:06:30.061> and<00:06:30.222> really<00:06:30.464> trying<00:06:30.786> to<00:06:31.752> take<00:06:32.010> on<00:06:32.171> that<00:06:32.413> industry<00:06:32.815> with<00:06:32.960> what<00:06:33.121> we<00:06:33.218> call<00:06:33.395> our<00:06:33.621> creative-as-a-service<00:06:34.619> model.

Yeah,<00:07:08.896> I<00:07:08.912> mean,<00:07:09.138> for<00:07:09.316> us,<00:07:09.542> our<00:07:09.639> mission<00:07:10.268> all<00:07:10.381> along<00:07:10.752> since<00:07:11.075> the<00:07:11.155> start<00:07:11.494> has<00:07:11.720> been<00:07:12.527> to<00:07:12.688> create<00:07:13.027> more<00:07:13.269> equal<00:07:14.060> opportunities<00:07:14.948> in<00:07:15.044> the<00:07:15.125> world,<00:07:16.238> and,<00:07:16.836> um,<00:07:17.546> we<00:07:18.498> wanted<00:07:18.821> to<00:07:18.982> create<00:07:19.176> this<00:07:19.386> magic<00:07:19.967> teleport<00:07:20.452> that<00:07:20.678> created,<00:07:21.889> um,<00:07:22.454> equal<00:07:22.648> opportunities<00:07:23.197> for<00:07:23.343> anyone<00:07:23.665> irrespective<00:07:24.231> of<00:07:24.473> where<00:07:24.731> you,<00:07:25.765> where<00:07:25.926> you<00:07:26.088> live,<00:07:26.572> and,<00:07:27.299> um<00:07:28.483> And<00:07:29.670> I<00:07:29.766> think<00:07:29.927> free<00:07:30.103> migration<00:07:30.649> would<00:07:30.873> be<00:07:31.916> great<00:07:32.397> for<00:07:32.574> everyone<00:07:33.135> in<00:07:33.216> the<00:07:33.296> world,<00:07:33.536> but<00:07:33.681> it's<00:07:33.857> obviously<00:07:35.141> not<00:07:35.365> happening,<00:07:35.847> right?

00:07:36.504 --> 00:07:41.478
The<00:07:36.665> US<00:07:37.210> is<00:07:37.692> building,<00:07:38.285> or<00:07:38.510> maybe<00:07:38.815> I<00:07:38.911> don't<00:07:39.023> know<00:07:39.136> how<00:07:39.248> it's<00:07:39.392> going<00:07:39.617> with<00:07:39.777> your<00:07:40.740> wall,<00:07:41.077> right?

00:07:41.638 --> 00:07:48.345
But<00:07:41.863> there's<00:07:43.724> this<00:07:43.884> tendency<00:07:45.072> to<00:07:45.890> just<00:07:46.195> not<00:07:46.435> want<00:07:46.596> to<00:07:46.692> let<00:07:46.852> people<00:07:47.109> into<00:07:47.478> your<00:07:48.200> country.

00:07:48.441 --> 00:07:55.896
And<00:07:48.537> so<00:07:48.778> really<00:07:49.018> the<00:07:49.403> internet<00:07:49.885> is<00:07:50.863> the<00:07:51.088> only<00:07:51.264> hope<00:07:51.666> in<00:07:52.468> many<00:07:52.708> ways<00:07:53.013> for<00:07:53.174> a<00:07:53.190> fair<00:07:54.484> for<00:07:54.581> a<00:07:54.598> fair<00:07:54.987> global<00:07:55.377> marketplace.

00:07:55.961 --> 00:08:04.669
And<00:07:56.708> so<00:07:56.854> for<00:07:57.082> us,<00:07:57.260> the<00:07:57.975> remote<00:07:59.290> work<00:07:59.598> is<00:08:00.410> really<00:08:00.588> just<00:08:00.897> an<00:08:01.222> ethical<00:08:02.357> imperative<00:08:03.020> more<00:08:03.182> than<00:08:04.151> anything<00:08:04.539> else.

00:08:04.879 --> 00:08:07.077
Yeah,<00:08:06.430> it's<00:08:06.754> interesting.

00:08:07.141 --> 00:08:08.855
And<00:08:07.546> you're<00:08:07.707> from<00:08:08.030> Norway,<00:08:08.451> right?

00:08:10.153 --> 00:08:10.784
I<00:08:10.315> am,<00:08:10.492> yeah.

00:08:11.528 --> 00:08:26.416
And<00:08:11.673> so<00:08:11.835> what<00:08:11.948> was—<00:08:12.482> I<00:08:12.563> love<00:08:12.919> the<00:08:13.000> story<00:08:13.469> of<00:08:13.615> anyone<00:08:13.954> who<00:08:14.181> builds<00:08:14.504> something<00:08:15.151> and<00:08:15.556> decides<00:08:15.976> to<00:08:16.074> stay<00:08:17.012> in<00:08:17.174> their<00:08:17.675> hometown<00:08:18.257> or<00:08:18.387> their<00:08:18.549> home<00:08:18.791> country<00:08:19.897> and<00:08:20.154> grow<00:08:20.539> that<00:08:21.101> rather<00:08:21.358> than,<00:08:21.502> you<00:08:21.599> know,<00:08:21.840> everybody<00:08:22.161> go<00:08:22.257> to<00:08:22.337> Silicon<00:08:22.787> Valley<00:08:23.108> or<00:08:23.140> everybody<00:08:23.445> go<00:08:23.525> to<00:08:23.606> New<00:08:23.750> York<00:08:23.943> City<00:08:24.955> or<00:08:25.131> London<00:08:25.452> or<00:08:25.533> whatever<00:08:25.838> it<00:08:25.918> is,<00:08:26.175> right?

00:08:26.480 --> 00:08:30.623
Like,<00:08:26.978> I<00:08:27.138> love<00:08:27.443> like<00:08:28.246> build<00:08:28.567> where<00:08:28.728> you<00:08:28.904> are<00:08:29.932> and<00:08:30.093> grow<00:08:30.366> that.

00:08:30.751 --> 00:08:32.694
I<00:08:31.152> think<00:08:31.297> that's<00:08:31.457> a<00:08:31.538> pretty<00:08:31.714> beautiful<00:08:32.100> concept.

00:08:33.063 --> 00:08:35.167
What<00:08:33.240> led<00:08:33.497> you<00:08:33.641> to<00:08:33.721> like,<00:08:34.027> hey,<00:08:34.203> I'm<00:08:34.364> just<00:08:34.524> sticking<00:08:34.845> around?

00:08:36.596 --> 00:09:01.589
Yeah,<00:08:36.772> so<00:08:37.013> we,<00:08:37.736> you<00:08:37.832> know,<00:08:38.041> went<00:08:38.201> to<00:08:38.298> Y<00:08:38.458> Combinator<00:08:39.181> and<00:08:39.341> lived<00:08:39.582> in<00:08:40.048> California<00:08:40.610> for<00:08:41.284> a<00:08:41.348> couple<00:08:41.605> of<00:08:41.734> years<00:08:42.472> and<00:08:43.596> I<00:08:43.660> had<00:08:43.773> a<00:08:43.837> great<00:08:44.158> time<00:08:44.399> in,<00:08:45.346> in<00:08:45.442> California,<00:08:47.591> but<00:08:47.831> for<00:08:48.906> many<00:08:49.194> reasons<00:08:50.734> related<00:08:51.054> to<00:08:51.199> family<00:08:51.615> and<00:08:52.321> everything,<00:08:52.577> we<00:08:52.658> just<00:08:52.818> wanted<00:08:53.058> to<00:08:53.203> be<00:08:53.379> in<00:08:53.780> Oslo<00:08:54.341> and<00:08:54.486> close<00:08:55.768> to<00:08:55.929> everyone,<00:08:56.346> but<00:08:56.923> still<00:08:57.227> wanted<00:08:57.548> to<00:08:57.708> build<00:08:58.029> a<00:08:58.093> company<00:08:59.232> that<00:08:59.552> competes<00:09:00.995> in<00:09:01.156> the<00:09:01.300> US.

00:09:01.941 --> 00:09:07.906
And<00:09:02.599> then<00:09:02.759> I<00:09:02.823> think<00:09:03.016> it's<00:09:03.160> really<00:09:03.385> only<00:09:05.565> one<00:09:05.790> option,<00:09:06.126> and<00:09:06.207> that<00:09:06.431> is<00:09:06.607> to<00:09:06.768> be<00:09:07.634> remote.

00:09:07.954 --> 00:09:23.224
I<00:09:07.986> think<00:09:08.211> if<00:09:08.291> you<00:09:08.451> are<00:09:09.558> in<00:09:10.520> Silicon<00:09:10.856> Valley<00:09:11.017> or<00:09:11.113> in<00:09:11.257> New<00:09:11.402> York<00:09:11.802> or<00:09:12.059> maybe<00:09:12.316> London,<00:09:12.620> you<00:09:12.765> have<00:09:13.679> sufficient<00:09:14.545> depth<00:09:15.828> in<00:09:15.973> the<00:09:16.149> local<00:09:16.550> talent<00:09:17.032> pool<00:09:17.593> to<00:09:17.818> build<00:09:18.572> a<00:09:18.636> huge<00:09:20.561> global<00:09:20.866> company<00:09:22.550> from<00:09:22.791> those<00:09:22.951> hubs.

00:09:23.288 --> 00:09:33.732
But<00:09:24.892> if<00:09:25.053> you're<00:09:25.197> in<00:09:25.293> Oslo,<00:09:25.598> there's<00:09:25.775> just<00:09:26.015> no<00:09:26.176> chance<00:09:26.496> that<00:09:26.657> you<00:09:26.817> can<00:09:27.058> find<00:09:28.004> all<00:09:28.101> the<00:09:28.181> relevant,<00:09:28.983> you<00:09:29.079> know,<00:09:29.240> sales<00:09:29.625> and<00:09:29.705> marketing<00:09:30.170> and<00:09:30.331> product<00:09:30.732> leaders<00:09:31.149> and<00:09:31.790> marketing<00:09:32.191> leaders<00:09:32.512> in<00:09:32.817> the<00:09:32.913> Oslo<00:09:33.234> talent<00:09:33.555> pool.

00:09:33.796 --> 00:09:35.977
And<00:09:33.876> so<00:09:34.678> there<00:09:34.822> really<00:09:34.999> isn't<00:09:35.384> any<00:09:35.544> other<00:09:35.721> option.

00:09:36.026 --> 00:09:49.977
And<00:09:36.106> so<00:09:36.780> today<00:09:37.646> it<00:09:37.726> just<00:09:38.047> feels<00:09:38.352> amazing<00:09:38.769> to<00:09:38.913> be<00:09:38.993> able<00:09:39.234> to<00:09:40.374> run<00:09:40.775> an<00:09:40.872> American<00:09:41.321> company<00:09:42.285> competing<00:09:42.718> in<00:09:42.847> the<00:09:42.927> American<00:09:44.164> market<00:09:44.710> but<00:09:45.657> take<00:09:45.850> advantage<00:09:46.380> of<00:09:46.556> the<00:09:47.424> lifestyle<00:09:48.066> that<00:09:48.226> you<00:09:48.323> can<00:09:48.467> have<00:09:49.527> in<00:09:49.672> Oslo.

00:09:50.555 --> 00:09:56.449
And<00:09:51.615> yeah,<00:09:52.000> definitely<00:09:52.402> expect<00:09:52.819> more<00:09:52.980> people<00:09:54.265> to<00:09:54.361> do<00:09:54.505> that<00:09:54.730> over<00:09:54.843> the<00:09:54.923> next<00:09:56.015> few<00:09:56.192> years.

00:09:57.781 --> 00:09:58.761
Yeah,<00:09:57.878> tell<00:09:57.990> me<00:09:58.183> about<00:09:58.440> Oslo.

00:09:58.841 --> 00:10:02.760
Like,<00:09:59.066> what—<00:09:59.580> Norway,<00:10:00.335> whenever<00:10:00.672> I<00:10:00.768> think<00:10:00.929> of<00:10:00.961> Norway,<00:10:01.314> I<00:10:01.411> think<00:10:01.571> the<00:10:01.716> happiest<00:10:02.133> people<00:10:02.455> ever.

00:10:02.856 --> 00:10:04.382
They've<00:10:03.017> got<00:10:03.193> everything<00:10:03.643> figured<00:10:03.964> out.

00:10:04.847 --> 00:10:09.408
I<00:10:04.879> mean,<00:10:05.747> California<00:10:06.309> must<00:10:06.533> have<00:10:06.630> been,<00:10:07.096> you<00:10:07.128> know,<00:10:07.577> a<00:10:07.818> culture<00:10:08.155> shock,<00:10:08.541> was<00:10:08.718> it,<00:10:08.798> in<00:10:08.878> some<00:10:09.119> ways?

00:10:09.810 --> 00:10:14.953
Like<00:10:10.084> just<00:10:10.311> kind<00:10:10.473> of<00:10:10.554> how<00:10:10.731> the<00:10:10.812> United<00:10:11.168> States<00:10:11.459> works<00:10:11.767> versus<00:10:12.025> how<00:10:12.187> Norway—<00:10:12.591> but<00:10:12.672> I<00:10:12.705> don't<00:10:12.899> know<00:10:12.980> a<00:10:12.996> lot<00:10:13.255> about—<00:10:13.384> I<00:10:13.562> just<00:10:13.788> know<00:10:14.047> like<00:10:14.209> what<00:10:14.354> I've<00:10:14.451> read<00:10:14.597> about<00:10:14.775> Norway.

00:10:15.001 --> 00:10:15.519
I've<00:10:15.050> never<00:10:15.244> been<00:10:15.406> there.

00:10:15.972 --> 00:10:19.029
Tell<00:10:16.150> us<00:10:16.311> about<00:10:17.670> that<00:10:18.010> and<00:10:18.091> why<00:10:18.333> it's<00:10:18.560> so<00:10:18.640> special.

00:10:21.187 --> 00:10:35.172
So<00:10:21.267> I<00:10:21.283> think<00:10:21.509> a<00:10:21.525> lot<00:10:21.750> of<00:10:21.927> Norwegians<00:10:22.716> really<00:10:23.038> admire<00:10:23.682> America,<00:10:24.182> and<00:10:24.343> I<00:10:24.359> think<00:10:24.745> we're<00:10:25.631> also<00:10:25.856> extremely<00:10:28.932> grateful<00:10:29.495> for<00:10:29.672> the<00:10:29.753> very<00:10:30.284> warm<00:10:30.510> welcome<00:10:31.761> that<00:10:31.907> we<00:10:32.004> always<00:10:32.329> get<00:10:33.385> when<00:10:33.613> we<00:10:33.775> are<00:10:34.604> in<00:10:34.685> the<00:10:34.831> US.

00:10:35.481 --> 00:10:37.008
At<00:10:35.579> least<00:10:35.822> to<00:10:35.887> me,<00:10:36.375> it's<00:10:36.537> just<00:10:36.732> amazing.

00:10:38.434 --> 00:10:43.357
The<00:10:39.075> inclusion<00:10:40.102> and<00:10:40.198> hospitality<00:10:40.936> that<00:10:41.160> we<00:10:41.240> get<00:10:42.347> in<00:10:42.764> the<00:10:42.988> US.

00:10:44.849 --> 00:10:48.505
And<00:10:45.715> so<00:10:45.875> definitely<00:10:46.260> many,<00:10:46.709> many<00:10:46.934> great<00:10:47.238> things<00:10:47.431> about<00:10:47.655> the<00:10:47.736> American<00:10:48.120> society.

00:10:48.602 --> 00:10:55.193
I<00:10:48.634> think<00:10:49.002> what<00:10:50.205> I<00:10:50.301> like<00:10:50.558> about<00:10:52.066> Norway<00:10:52.386> in<00:10:52.467> particular<00:10:52.932> is<00:10:53.092> the<00:10:53.188> connection<00:10:53.733> to<00:10:54.760> nature.

00:10:55.979 --> 00:10:59.796
And<00:10:57.101> they<00:10:57.198> say<00:10:57.518> that<00:10:57.903> every<00:10:58.256> city<00:10:58.705> kind<00:10:58.865> of<00:10:58.914> sends<00:10:59.266> you<00:10:59.347> a<00:10:59.363> signal.

00:10:59.844 --> 00:11:12.772
And<00:10:59.988> so<00:11:00.662> New<00:11:00.806> York<00:11:01.063> sends—<00:11:01.608> this<00:11:01.993> is<00:11:02.169> Paul<00:11:02.410> Graham—<00:11:03.276> essay,<00:11:03.549> I<00:11:03.613> think,<00:11:03.758> where,<00:11:03.999> you<00:11:04.031> know,<00:11:04.240> you<00:11:04.352> know,<00:11:04.738> New<00:11:04.963> York<00:11:05.220> sends<00:11:05.461> you<00:11:05.606> the<00:11:05.686> signal<00:11:06.168> too<00:11:06.988> that<00:11:07.148> money<00:11:07.470> is<00:11:07.566> important<00:11:08.289> and,<00:11:08.900> you<00:11:08.932> know,<00:11:09.076> getting<00:11:09.318> a<00:11:09.334> lot<00:11:09.575> of<00:11:09.639> it<00:11:09.816> is,<00:11:10.217> is<00:11:10.362> gonna<00:11:11.230> give<00:11:11.390> you<00:11:11.471> a<00:11:11.503> lot<00:11:11.663> of<00:11:11.712> status<00:11:12.113> here<00:11:12.274> in<00:11:12.370> New<00:11:12.451> York.

At<00:12:19.168> what<00:12:19.329> point<00:12:19.572> did<00:12:19.734> you<00:12:19.895> realize,<00:12:20.251> hey,<00:12:20.397> Supersite<00:12:21.043> is<00:12:21.189> going<00:12:21.318> to<00:12:21.367> be<00:12:21.528> something,<00:12:21.933> this<00:12:22.159> is<00:12:22.256> going<00:12:22.353> to<00:12:22.498> work?

00:12:23.374 --> 00:12:33.877
We've<00:12:23.616> landed<00:12:24.004> on<00:12:24.117> something<00:12:25.070> that<00:12:26.910> disrupts<00:12:27.346> things<00:12:27.589> like<00:12:27.799> Upwork<00:12:28.445> and<00:12:28.541> other<00:12:29.010> sites<00:12:29.268> like<00:12:29.494> that,<00:12:30.382> makes<00:12:30.705> it,<00:12:30.980> you<00:12:31.061> know,<00:12:31.367> the<00:12:31.513> quality<00:12:31.852> better,<00:12:32.318> makes<00:12:32.639> lifestyle<00:12:32.977> better,<00:12:33.218> all<00:12:33.362> that<00:12:33.459> type<00:12:33.636> of<00:12:33.700> stuff.

00:12:34.263 --> 00:12:52.080
At<00:12:34.327> what<00:12:34.504> point<00:12:34.825> was<00:12:34.986> there<00:12:35.147> a<00:12:35.163> moment<00:12:35.548> in<00:12:35.613> time<00:12:35.870> can<00:12:36.014> you<00:12:36.111> think<00:12:36.416> of<00:12:36.593> where<00:12:36.818> it's<00:12:36.979> like,<00:12:37.782> "Oh,<00:12:37.815> this<00:12:38.040> is<00:12:38.120> actually<00:12:38.377> gonna<00:12:38.506> work."<00:12:40.209> I<00:12:40.226> mean,<00:12:40.434> I<00:12:40.467> guess<00:12:40.692> as<00:12:40.838> a<00:12:40.919> founder,<00:12:41.324> you're<00:12:41.647> just<00:12:42.069> always<00:12:42.473> questioning<00:12:44.077> your<00:12:44.401> own<00:12:45.211> journey<00:12:45.632> and<00:12:46.765> you're<00:12:46.927> always<00:12:47.818> a<00:12:47.964> bit<00:12:48.142> paranoid<00:12:48.644> and<00:12:48.790> so<00:12:49.676> I'm<00:12:49.772> not<00:12:49.932> sure<00:12:50.108> if<00:12:50.317> I<00:12:50.429> still<00:12:51.054> believe<00:12:51.374> in<00:12:51.519> it,<00:12:51.679> you<00:12:51.791> know.

00:12:52.240 --> 00:12:58.778
Um,<00:12:52.977> you<00:12:53.201> always<00:12:54.419> just<00:12:54.660> want<00:12:54.900> to<00:12:54.964> improve<00:12:55.381> things,<00:12:55.781> and<00:12:55.861> there's<00:12:56.166> always<00:12:56.807> stuff<00:12:57.143> that,<00:12:57.464> that<00:12:57.624> you<00:12:57.784> can<00:12:58.490> make<00:12:58.666> better.

00:12:58.826 --> 00:13:00.557
There's<00:12:59.211> always<00:13:00.012> problems.

00:13:01.214 --> 00:13:06.759
Um,<00:13:02.191> but<00:13:02.352> I<00:13:02.432> can<00:13:03.137> tell<00:13:03.313> a<00:13:03.377> little<00:13:03.570> bit<00:13:03.730> about<00:13:04.194> kind<00:13:04.339> of<00:13:04.435> when<00:13:04.739> we<00:13:04.835> found<00:13:05.877> product-market<00:13:06.534> fit.

00:13:06.855 --> 00:13:13.665
And,<00:13:07.624> um,<00:13:08.121> and<00:13:08.281> I<00:13:08.425> remember,<00:13:09.707> you<00:13:09.739> know,<00:13:09.964> people<00:13:10.348> asking<00:13:10.685> me,<00:13:10.925> like,<00:13:11.149> Y<00:13:11.310> Combinator<00:13:11.726> partners<00:13:12.127> would<00:13:12.271> ask,<00:13:12.447> do<00:13:12.592> you<00:13:12.624> think<00:13:12.784> you<00:13:12.832> have<00:13:13.008> product-market<00:13:13.569> fit?

00:13:13.729 --> 00:13:19.081
And<00:13:13.794> I<00:13:13.826> was<00:13:13.922> like,<00:13:14.034> yeah,<00:13:14.194> we're<00:13:14.354> growing<00:13:15.397> we're<00:13:15.655> doubling<00:13:16.057> every<00:13:16.363> year<00:13:16.781> and<00:13:17.891> we<00:13:17.971> have<00:13:18.084> all<00:13:18.148> these<00:13:18.309> customers.

00:13:19.837 --> 00:13:28.481
And<00:13:19.918> so<00:13:20.320> I<00:13:20.465> was<00:13:21.028> thinking<00:13:21.366> that<00:13:21.591> we<00:13:21.655> had<00:13:22.556> product-market<00:13:23.682> fit,<00:13:24.020> but<00:13:24.714> the<00:13:24.796> customers<00:13:25.287> didn't<00:13:25.926> really<00:13:26.843> enjoy<00:13:27.318> it<00:13:27.826> that<00:13:28.137> much.

00:13:32.118 --> 00:13:46.118
We<00:13:32.343> grew<00:13:32.616> by<00:13:32.921> kind<00:13:33.082> of<00:13:33.242> almost<00:13:33.708> like<00:13:33.965> forcing<00:13:34.367> customers,<00:13:34.769> spending<00:13:35.154> on<00:13:35.251> marketing<00:13:36.215> and<00:13:36.295> being<00:13:37.098> good<00:13:37.259> at<00:13:37.355> that,<00:13:37.645> but<00:13:38.239> it<00:13:38.448> wasn't<00:13:38.769> like<00:13:39.187> growth<00:13:39.589> driven<00:13:39.910> by<00:13:40.766> people<00:13:41.006> just<00:13:41.182> telling<00:13:41.423> their<00:13:41.519> friends,<00:13:42.448> hey,<00:13:42.609> you<00:13:42.689> should<00:13:42.929> really<00:13:43.105> check<00:13:43.346> out<00:13:43.490> this<00:13:43.666> whole<00:13:44.067> Superside<00:13:45.990> thing.

00:13:46.455 --> 00:13:58.265
And,<00:13:47.256> um,<00:13:48.217> I<00:13:48.314> think<00:13:49.179> over<00:13:49.676> the—<00:13:50.541> or,<00:13:50.813> or<00:13:50.878> in<00:13:51.022> the<00:13:51.102> first<00:13:51.438> 3<00:13:51.679> or<00:13:51.759> 4<00:13:52.079> years<00:13:52.400> or<00:13:52.480> something,<00:13:52.801> we<00:13:52.881> started<00:13:53.442> to<00:13:54.547> realize<00:13:54.868> that<00:13:55.044> retention<00:13:55.605> just<00:13:55.990> wasn't<00:13:56.663> really<00:13:56.887> that<00:13:58.073> good.

00:13:58.329 --> 00:14:03.233
We<00:13:58.490> weren't<00:13:58.890> getting<00:13:59.211> that<00:13:59.515> many<00:13:59.739> new<00:13:59.996> customers<00:14:00.493> from,<00:14:01.438> from<00:14:01.679> word<00:14:01.839> of<00:14:01.871> mouth,<00:14:02.191> and<00:14:02.336> we<00:14:02.480> had<00:14:02.640> to<00:14:02.736> do<00:14:02.896> something.

00:14:03.297 --> 00:14:08.935
And<00:14:03.393> so<00:14:03.698> we<00:14:03.842> kind<00:14:04.018> of<00:14:04.723> started<00:14:05.124> out<00:14:05.316> as<00:14:05.460> this<00:14:06.343> pre-qualified<00:14:06.987> freelancer<00:14:08.420> marketplace.

00:14:08.999 --> 00:14:15.520
But<00:14:09.949> over<00:14:10.062> the<00:14:10.207> course<00:14:12.541> of<00:14:12.638> a<00:14:12.767> year,<00:14:13.024> we<00:14:13.121> made,<00:14:14.055> you<00:14:14.087> know,<00:14:14.232> 3<00:14:14.393> important<00:14:14.876> decisions.

00:14:15.745 --> 00:14:20.289
We<00:14:15.810> said,<00:14:16.067> one,<00:14:16.245> let's<00:14:16.422> go<00:14:16.712> all<00:14:16.873> in<00:14:17.034> on<00:14:17.453> design<00:14:18.420> and<00:14:18.500> be<00:14:18.661> the<00:14:18.742> best<00:14:19.048> in<00:14:19.145> the<00:14:19.225> world<00:14:19.773> at<00:14:19.934> doing<00:14:20.111> that.

00:14:20.353 --> 00:14:29.222
Let's<00:14:20.675> go<00:14:20.836> for<00:14:20.981> a<00:14:20.998> subscription<00:14:21.642> model,<00:14:23.559> and<00:14:23.656> let's<00:14:24.430> shift<00:14:24.864> to<00:14:25.588> primarily<00:14:26.070> full-time<00:14:27.357> people<00:14:27.823> working<00:14:28.225> at<00:14:28.788> Superside.

00:14:29.271 --> 00:14:37.515
Still<00:14:30.187> very<00:14:30.413> flexible,<00:14:31.201> you<00:14:31.297> can<00:14:31.458> work<00:14:31.699> whenever<00:14:32.021> you<00:14:32.746> you<00:14:32.907> want<00:14:33.164> type<00:14:33.790> arrangement,<00:14:34.834> but<00:14:35.010> really<00:14:35.251> tried<00:14:35.572> to<00:14:35.717> go<00:14:36.937> all<00:14:37.081> in<00:14:37.242> on<00:14:37.322> that.

00:14:38.382 --> 00:14:48.769
And<00:14:38.446> then<00:14:38.623> after<00:14:38.879> a<00:14:39.008> while,<00:14:39.265> suddenly<00:14:39.570> it<00:14:39.666> started<00:14:39.923> feeling<00:14:40.934> running<00:14:41.272> downhill,<00:14:41.834> you<00:14:41.930> know,<00:14:42.155> customers<00:14:42.556> came<00:14:42.797> knocking<00:14:43.118> at<00:14:43.214> our<00:14:43.359> doors<00:14:44.804> and<00:14:44.964> growth,<00:14:45.350> just<00:14:45.526> everything<00:14:45.847> just<00:14:46.008> felt<00:14:46.329> super,<00:14:46.746> super<00:14:48.480> easy.

00:14:48.817 --> 00:14:58.049
And<00:14:49.379> that's<00:14:50.343> when<00:14:50.567> I<00:14:50.728> realized<00:14:51.210> that<00:14:52.012> we<00:14:52.045> now<00:14:52.414> have<00:14:53.297> product-market<00:14:54.019> fit<00:14:54.356> and<00:14:54.918> realized<00:14:55.320> that<00:14:56.203> we<00:14:56.363> didn't<00:14:56.604> have<00:14:56.765> it<00:14:57.873> earlier.

00:14:58.129 --> 00:15:08.229
And<00:14:58.274> so<00:14:59.236> I<00:14:59.252> like<00:14:59.493> to<00:14:59.557> say<00:14:59.733> now<00:14:59.974> that<00:15:00.134> the<00:15:00.214> definition<00:15:00.839> of<00:15:00.936> product<00:15:01.256> market<00:15:01.641> fit<00:15:01.978> is<00:15:03.260> that<00:15:03.661> if<00:15:03.805> you're<00:15:03.901> truly<00:15:04.222> honest<00:15:04.526> with<00:15:04.687> yourself,<00:15:05.104> you<00:15:05.568> either<00:15:05.809> know<00:15:06.226> it<00:15:07.107> or<00:15:07.652> you<00:15:07.749> don't.

00:15:08.791 --> 00:15:14.850
And<00:15:08.871> so<00:15:09.031> for<00:15:09.175> us,<00:15:09.672> that<00:15:09.833> was<00:15:09.993> a<00:15:10.009> very<00:15:11.179> apparent<00:15:11.676> moment<00:15:12.141> in,<00:15:12.542> I<00:15:12.558> don't<00:15:12.958> know,<00:15:13.039> 2019<00:15:14.465> or<00:15:14.562> something.

00:15:14.898 --> 00:15:19.868
And<00:15:15.026> so<00:15:15.123> over<00:15:15.283> the<00:15:15.363> last<00:15:15.668> 3<00:15:15.860> or<00:15:16.004> 4<00:15:16.100> years,<00:15:16.373> it's<00:15:16.565> been<00:15:17.447> just<00:15:17.752> scaling<00:15:18.088> as<00:15:18.473> quickly<00:15:19.451> as<00:15:19.611> we<00:15:19.691> can.

00:15:20.316 --> 00:15:36.536
Yeah,<00:15:20.477> it's<00:15:20.573> interesting,<00:15:20.974> like<00:15:21.599> this<00:15:22.000> creative<00:15:22.432> as<00:15:22.577> a<00:15:22.641> service<00:15:23.282> model<00:15:24.260> is<00:15:25.479> It's<00:15:25.703> pretty<00:15:25.944> fascinating,<00:15:26.506> actually,<00:15:26.971> like<00:15:27.164> this,<00:15:27.453> the<00:15:27.549> subscription<00:15:28.191> model,<00:15:29.234> treating<00:15:29.555> it<00:15:29.587> more<00:15:29.860> like<00:15:30.052> a<00:15:30.117> SaaS<00:15:30.438> company<00:15:30.999> than<00:15:31.240> like,<00:15:31.545> uh,<00:15:32.187> you<00:15:32.219> know,<00:15:32.347> one<00:15:32.444> of<00:15:32.524> these<00:15:32.749> other<00:15:33.487> websites<00:15:33.984> or<00:15:34.049> wherever<00:15:34.354> where<00:15:34.450> you<00:15:34.610> go<00:15:34.835> on<00:15:35.028> and<00:15:35.156> you<00:15:35.316> just<00:15:35.429> kind<00:15:35.589> of<00:15:35.653> pay<00:15:35.894> per<00:15:36.055> project.

00:15:37.162 --> 00:15:40.388
Um,<00:15:38.703> what,<00:15:39.248> why<00:15:39.345> did<00:15:39.505> you<00:15:39.585> think<00:15:39.810> that<00:15:39.987> might<00:15:40.211> work?

00:15:40.548 --> 00:15:46.534
Was<00:15:40.709> that<00:15:40.933> like<00:15:41.094> from<00:15:41.270> the<00:15:41.415> Y<00:15:41.656> Combinator<00:15:42.458> thing<00:15:42.779> because<00:15:43.116> they<00:15:43.357> are<00:15:43.517> so<00:15:43.758> ingrained<00:15:44.159> in,<00:15:44.946> um,<00:15:45.042> software<00:15:45.427> as<00:15:45.539> a<00:15:45.588> service<00:15:46.005> models?

00:15:46.711 --> 00:15:51.381
Or<00:15:47.289> were<00:15:47.433> you<00:15:47.529> just,<00:15:48.476> at<00:15:48.573> what<00:15:49.134> point<00:15:49.295> did<00:15:49.359> you<00:15:49.455> think,<00:15:49.600> hey,<00:15:49.856> this<00:15:50.017> subscription<00:15:50.579> thing<00:15:50.739> is<00:15:50.884> really<00:15:50.996> going<00:15:51.092> to<00:15:51.205> work?

00:15:53.066 --> 00:16:07.076
So<00:15:53.933> we,<00:15:54.735> um,<00:15:55.955> we<00:15:56.115> kind<00:15:56.292> of<00:15:56.356> started<00:15:57.881> to<00:15:58.041> talk<00:15:58.346> more<00:15:58.523> and<00:15:58.603> more<00:15:58.844> to<00:15:58.924> customers<00:15:59.630> of<00:15:59.790> a<00:16:00.625> certain<00:16:01.090> size,<00:16:01.636> and,<00:16:02.374> and<00:16:02.454> a<00:16:02.535> lot<00:16:02.711> of<00:16:02.775> them<00:16:02.920> were<00:16:03.032> just<00:16:03.321> really<00:16:04.460> dissatisfied<00:16:05.407> with<00:16:05.584> their<00:16:06.531> agencies.

00:16:07.814 --> 00:16:12.420
Um,<00:16:08.472> they<00:16:08.617> felt<00:16:08.874> that<00:16:09.050> their<00:16:09.740> agencies<00:16:10.302> were<00:16:11.506> disorganized.

00:16:12.468 --> 00:16:26.473
They<00:16:12.549> felt<00:16:12.805> that<00:16:12.950> their<00:16:13.271> agencies<00:16:14.170> didn't<00:16:14.555> think<00:16:14.795> about<00:16:15.935> them<00:16:16.256> first<00:16:16.593> and<00:16:16.737> foremost,<00:16:17.283> but<00:16:17.459> more<00:16:17.684> about<00:16:18.439> awards<00:16:19.067> or<00:16:19.357> making<00:16:19.872> great<00:16:20.259> stuff<00:16:20.677> for<00:16:20.822> their<00:16:21.080> portfolio,<00:16:21.643> not<00:16:21.869> so<00:16:21.901> much<00:16:22.142> about<00:16:22.996> performance<00:16:25.652> of<00:16:25.749> the<00:16:25.894> creative.

00:16:27.359 --> 00:16:41.139
And<00:16:27.520> at<00:16:27.665> some<00:16:27.810> point<00:16:28.070> we<00:16:28.984> just<00:16:29.147> really<00:16:29.375> felt<00:16:29.782> that<00:16:30.125> there<00:16:30.288> is<00:16:31.576> a<00:16:31.674> way<00:16:31.919> to<00:16:32.147> create<00:16:32.506> a<00:16:32.554> more<00:16:32.978> productized,<00:16:34.446> standardized<00:16:35.428> solution<00:16:37.181> for<00:16:37.664> all<00:16:37.777> of<00:16:37.841> those<00:16:38.243> customers<00:16:38.806> that<00:16:38.951> are<00:16:38.983> a<00:16:39.112> little<00:16:39.289> bit<00:16:40.158> dissatisfied<00:16:40.898> today.

00:16:42.749 --> 00:16:55.798
And<00:16:43.343> we<00:16:43.509> felt<00:16:43.839> that<00:16:44.153> a<00:16:44.846> subscription<00:16:45.489> model<00:16:45.745> would<00:16:45.986> give<00:16:46.372> us,<00:16:47.576> um,<00:16:48.700> predictability<00:16:49.840> to<00:16:50.563> invest<00:16:51.286> in,<00:16:52.169> in<00:16:52.314> talent<00:16:52.731> and<00:16:52.956> build<00:16:53.357> a<00:16:53.373> dedicated<00:16:54.080> team<00:16:54.963> for<00:16:55.076> the<00:16:55.204> customer.

00:16:56.328 --> 00:17:02.928
Um,<00:16:56.987> we<00:16:57.083> felt<00:16:57.420> that<00:16:57.613> it<00:16:58.014> would<00:16:58.191> kind<00:16:58.368> of<00:16:58.512> reduce<00:16:59.074> the<00:16:59.219> cognitive<00:17:00.664> friction<00:17:01.162> in<00:17:01.306> the<00:17:01.403> purchasing<00:17:02.591> process.

00:17:02.993 --> 00:17:19.420
I<00:17:03.073> think<00:17:03.266> a<00:17:03.410> lot<00:17:03.715> of<00:17:04.615> the<00:17:04.855> deals<00:17:05.337> in<00:17:05.498> this<00:17:05.658> space<00:17:06.060> is<00:17:06.285> done<00:17:06.542> with<00:17:06.766> like<00:17:06.943> very<00:17:07.248> custom<00:17:07.891> RFPs<00:17:08.710> and<00:17:09.336> long<00:17:09.513> processes<00:17:10.155> and<00:17:10.396> pitching<00:17:10.878> and<00:17:11.022> all<00:17:11.199> these<00:17:11.423> things,<00:17:11.680> and<00:17:12.162> And<00:17:12.242> then<00:17:12.403> we<00:17:12.564> come<00:17:12.788> and<00:17:12.869> we<00:17:12.965> say,<00:17:13.142> hey,<00:17:14.651> this<00:17:14.892> is<00:17:15.116> the<00:17:15.197> plan,<00:17:15.534> you<00:17:15.630> know,<00:17:15.855> you<00:17:16.000> can<00:17:16.176> buy<00:17:16.417> it<00:17:16.594> or<00:17:16.802> you<00:17:16.899> can<00:17:17.605> not<00:17:17.846> buy<00:17:18.007> it,<00:17:18.183> but,<00:17:18.569> but<00:17:18.745> this<00:17:18.970> is<00:17:19.147> the<00:17:19.227> plan.

00:17:19.468 --> 00:17:24.220
And<00:17:19.853> we've<00:17:20.110> thought<00:17:20.335> a<00:17:20.351> lot<00:17:20.576> about<00:17:21.073> why<00:17:21.619> it<00:17:21.716> should<00:17:21.956> be<00:17:22.037> structured<00:17:23.225> in,<00:17:23.626> in<00:17:23.723> this<00:17:24.028> way.

00:17:24.991 --> 00:17:34.079
And,<00:17:25.152> and<00:17:25.312> then<00:17:25.424> a<00:17:25.441> lot<00:17:25.569> of<00:17:25.633> people<00:17:25.874> just<00:17:25.954> started<00:17:26.195> saying,<00:17:26.516> ah,<00:17:26.693> that<00:17:26.853> makes<00:17:27.094> a<00:17:27.110> lot<00:17:27.335> of<00:17:27.399> sense,<00:17:27.721> you<00:17:27.753> know,<00:17:27.977> it's<00:17:28.138> really<00:17:28.315> nice<00:17:28.620> that<00:17:28.844> you<00:17:28.925> just<00:17:29.166> kind<00:17:29.326> of<00:17:29.984> structured<00:17:30.466> it<00:17:30.562> so<00:17:30.707> that<00:17:30.932> we<00:17:30.964> don't<00:17:31.108> have<00:17:31.333> to<00:17:31.991> fight<00:17:32.329> about<00:17:33.742> things.

00:17:34.159 --> 00:17:41.079
And,<00:17:34.560> and<00:17:34.721> very<00:17:34.882> often<00:17:35.106> kind<00:17:35.267> of<00:17:35.508> agency<00:17:36.728> customer<00:17:37.113> relations<00:17:37.916> relationships<00:17:39.361> end<00:17:40.260> in<00:17:40.485> conflict.

00:17:42.106 --> 00:17:57.006
And<00:17:42.171> it's<00:17:42.267> one<00:17:42.412> of<00:17:42.444> those<00:17:42.668> industries,<00:17:43.150> you<00:17:43.246> know,<00:17:43.311> it's<00:17:43.471> the<00:17:43.551> same<00:17:43.873> with<00:17:44.996> a<00:17:45.077> lot<00:17:45.478> of<00:17:45.558> kind<00:17:45.719> of<00:17:46.040> builders<00:17:46.522> or<00:17:46.666> carpenting<00:17:47.469> or<00:17:48.047> home<00:17:48.994> refurbishment,<00:17:49.476> like<00:17:49.588> a<00:17:49.636> lot<00:17:49.813> of<00:17:49.877> industries<00:17:50.535> just<00:17:50.696> have<00:17:50.937> very<00:17:51.258> low<00:17:51.579> customer<00:17:51.916> satisfaction<00:17:53.666> in<00:17:53.891> general<00:17:54.469> across<00:17:54.934> the<00:17:56.476> industry.

00:17:57.664 --> 00:18:06.889
And<00:17:58.162> we<00:17:58.322> just<00:17:58.723> felt<00:17:59.045> that<00:17:59.285> there<00:17:59.430> was<00:18:00.473> a<00:18:00.570> need<00:18:00.875> to<00:18:00.971> try<00:18:01.356> to<00:18:01.613> fix<00:18:01.854> that<00:18:02.111> with<00:18:02.400> a<00:18:03.139> product<00:18:03.460> that<00:18:03.701> is<00:18:03.990> just<00:18:04.263> much<00:18:04.489> more<00:18:04.585> focused<00:18:05.069> on<00:18:05.133> what<00:18:05.310> the<00:18:05.391> customer<00:18:06.341> truly<00:18:06.583> needs.

00:18:08.290 --> 00:18:10.432
Now,<00:18:08.596> how<00:18:08.773> does<00:18:09.160> AI<00:18:09.482> disrupt<00:18:09.965> all<00:18:10.142> of<00:18:10.287> this?

00:18:10.625 --> 00:18:15.833
It<00:18:10.706> seems,<00:18:11.028> you<00:18:11.189> know,<00:18:11.286> like,<00:18:11.672> uh,<00:18:12.300> you<00:18:12.639> got<00:18:12.800> things<00:18:13.106> like<00:18:13.864> DALL-E,<00:18:14.413> you've<00:18:14.558> got<00:18:14.735> things<00:18:14.961> like<00:18:15.139> Midjourney.

00:18:16.107 --> 00:18:21.626
I<00:18:16.123> mean,<00:18:16.333> they're<00:18:16.446> not<00:18:16.833> designing<00:18:17.463> full<00:18:17.640> websites<00:18:18.060> and<00:18:18.189> things<00:18:18.350> like<00:18:18.511> that,<00:18:19.092> but<00:18:19.238> AI<00:18:19.657> is<00:18:19.819> like<00:18:20.125> got<00:18:20.286> to<00:18:20.383> be<00:18:20.480> something<00:18:20.851> that's<00:18:21.093> on<00:18:21.174> your<00:18:21.335> mind.

00:18:21.674 --> 00:18:23.205
And<00:18:21.755> like,<00:18:21.981> how<00:18:22.078> do<00:18:22.158> you<00:18:22.255> adapt<00:18:22.546> to<00:18:22.642> that,<00:18:22.964> right?

00:18:24.717 --> 00:18:25.280
Absolutely.

00:18:26.084 --> 00:18:29.912
And,<00:18:26.969> um,<00:18:27.065> we<00:18:27.693> don't<00:18:28.111> really<00:18:28.352> know<00:18:29.011> yet,<00:18:29.623> I<00:18:29.719> guess.

00:18:30.623 --> 00:18:35.086
Whether<00:18:31.570> it's<00:18:31.747> mostly<00:18:32.533> a<00:18:32.566> threat<00:18:33.112> or<00:18:33.208> mostly<00:18:33.754> an<00:18:34.412> opportunity.

00:18:35.279 --> 00:18:55.221
It<00:18:35.440> is<00:18:35.600> definitely<00:18:37.045> both,<00:18:38.073> and<00:18:38.956> we<00:18:39.052> definitely<00:18:39.695> see<00:18:40.819> across<00:18:41.365> all<00:18:41.525> of<00:18:41.605> our<00:18:42.264> product<00:18:42.729> categories<00:18:44.512> that<00:18:45.058> it's<00:18:45.459> possible<00:18:45.877> to<00:18:46.037> do<00:18:46.182> it<00:18:46.342> faster,<00:18:47.803> and<00:18:48.028> it's<00:18:48.189> possible<00:18:48.526> to<00:18:49.473> reduce<00:18:50.934> cost<00:18:51.336> and<00:18:51.657> deliver<00:18:52.058> a<00:18:52.074> more<00:18:53.166> efficient<00:18:53.744> product<00:18:54.226> to<00:18:54.322> our,<00:18:54.627> to<00:18:54.692> our<00:18:54.868> customers.

00:18:55.270 --> 00:19:07.723
And<00:18:55.414> then<00:18:55.992> A<00:18:56.073> traditional<00:18:56.699> agency<00:18:57.278> will<00:18:58.708> not<00:18:58.885> have<00:18:59.110> any<00:18:59.222> incentives<00:18:59.913> to<00:19:00.010> do<00:19:00.074> that<00:19:00.234> because<00:19:00.492> you<00:19:00.572> get<00:19:00.797> paid<00:19:01.118> by<00:19:02.018> the<00:19:02.323> hour,<00:19:03.529> and<00:19:03.802> if<00:19:03.946> you<00:19:04.107> log<00:19:04.428> fewer<00:19:04.975> hours,<00:19:05.312> then<00:19:05.778> you<00:19:05.875> essentially<00:19:07.321> lose<00:19:07.562> money.

00:19:07.787 --> 00:19:10.310
And<00:19:07.964> so,<00:19:08.124> so<00:19:08.349> you<00:19:08.446> face<00:19:08.687> that<00:19:08.912> whole<00:19:09.249> innovator's<00:19:09.972> dilemma.

00:19:10.374 --> 00:19:17.894
For<00:19:10.518> us,<00:19:10.695> it's<00:19:10.856> different<00:19:11.226> because<00:19:11.563> we<00:19:11.627> have<00:19:12.447> this<00:19:12.607> subscription<00:19:13.989> model,<00:19:14.311> and<00:19:14.471> so<00:19:15.018> our<00:19:15.114> incentives<00:19:15.660> are<00:19:15.693> much<00:19:15.982> more<00:19:16.062> aligned<00:19:17.203> with<00:19:17.364> the<00:19:17.444> customers.

00:19:17.990 --> 00:19:32.081
And,<00:19:19.035> and<00:19:19.115> for<00:19:19.276> us<00:19:19.517> now,<00:19:19.774> we<00:19:20.240> are<00:19:20.320> just<00:19:20.561> committed<00:19:21.060> to<00:19:21.702> every<00:19:21.943> quarter<00:19:22.649> try<00:19:22.969> to<00:19:23.146> reduce<00:19:24.734> the<00:19:24.894> time<00:19:25.312> that<00:19:25.632> everything<00:19:26.017> takes<00:19:27.461> by<00:19:27.878> 15<00:19:28.344> to<00:19:28.440> 20%<00:19:29.146> every<00:19:29.386> quarter<00:19:29.723> for<00:19:30.108> the<00:19:30.188> next<00:19:31.488> 12<00:19:31.793> months.

00:19:32.675 --> 00:19:38.530
And<00:19:32.755> I<00:19:32.771> think<00:19:33.012> across<00:19:33.413> many<00:19:33.654> categories<00:19:34.279> we<00:19:34.375> will<00:19:34.536> be<00:19:34.616> able<00:19:34.857> to<00:19:35.835> improve<00:19:36.140> efficiency<00:19:36.702> by<00:19:37.841> more<00:19:38.081> than<00:19:38.226> 50%.

00:19:38.947 --> 00:19:47.338
So<00:19:39.188> for<00:19:39.349> things<00:19:39.589> like<00:19:39.830> banner<00:19:40.215> ad<00:19:40.311> redesign<00:19:41.033> or<00:19:41.274> illustration<00:19:42.701> and<00:19:42.798> a<00:19:42.814> few<00:19:43.038> other<00:19:43.199> categories,<00:19:43.696> it's<00:19:44.306> possible<00:19:44.787> to<00:19:44.899> reduce<00:19:45.364> by<00:19:45.765> maybe<00:19:46.086> as<00:19:46.247> much<00:19:46.407> as<00:19:46.744> 70%.

00:19:47.450 --> 00:19:56.052
And<00:19:48.496> That's<00:19:48.723> something<00:19:48.998> that<00:19:49.143> we're<00:19:49.467> committed<00:19:50.923> to<00:19:51.069> doing,<00:19:51.408> and<00:19:51.473> we're<00:19:51.716> committed<00:19:52.703> to<00:19:52.865> passing<00:19:53.334> those<00:19:53.447> savings<00:19:54.062> over<00:19:54.304> to<00:19:55.437> our<00:19:55.615> customers.

00:19:56.100 --> 00:20:12.457
And<00:19:56.181> then<00:19:56.359> at<00:19:56.440> the<00:19:56.521> same<00:19:56.828> time,<00:19:57.660> I<00:19:57.676> think<00:19:57.772> there<00:19:57.917> are<00:19:57.949> a<00:19:58.077> lot<00:19:58.254> of<00:19:58.334> customers<00:19:58.881> out<00:19:59.057> there<00:20:00.970> that<00:20:02.335> want<00:20:02.737> to<00:20:03.460> get<00:20:03.717> our<00:20:03.862> help<00:20:04.280> to<00:20:04.665> build<00:20:05.147> an<00:20:06.529> internal<00:20:07.060> kind<00:20:07.269> of<00:20:07.559> AI<00:20:09.734> production<00:20:10.298> engine<00:20:11.023> or<00:20:11.683> various<00:20:12.070> other<00:20:12.231> ways.

00:20:14.007 --> 00:20:19.254
To,<00:20:14.344> to<00:20:14.504> use<00:20:14.889> AI<00:20:15.050> in<00:20:15.146> their<00:20:15.371> own<00:20:16.109> design,<00:20:16.831> and<00:20:16.975> we're<00:20:17.136> trying<00:20:17.393> to<00:20:17.457> help<00:20:17.714> customers<00:20:18.259> with,<00:20:18.676> with<00:20:18.757> that<00:20:19.013> as<00:20:19.158> well.

00:20:19.318 --> 00:20:27.839
So<00:20:20.281> both<00:20:20.666> a<00:20:20.939> threat<00:20:21.260> and<00:20:21.388> an<00:20:21.501> opportunity,<00:20:22.046> but<00:20:22.768> it's<00:20:22.865> definitely<00:20:23.330> happening,<00:20:23.795> and,<00:20:24.437> um,<00:20:25.175> and<00:20:25.336> there's<00:20:25.641> no<00:20:25.817> way<00:20:27.101> to,<00:20:27.342> to<00:20:27.438> stop<00:20:27.759> it.

00:20:27.903 --> 00:20:31.273
So,<00:20:28.160> so<00:20:28.465> we're,<00:20:29.107> we're<00:20:29.267> definitely<00:20:29.829> going<00:20:30.070> with<00:20:30.391> the,<00:20:30.712> the<00:20:30.808> program.

00:20:32.316 --> 00:20:35.060
What's<00:20:32.541> your<00:20:32.717> overall<00:20:33.119> take<00:20:33.440> on<00:20:33.584> AI,<00:20:33.985> even<00:20:34.162> beyond<00:20:34.483> Superside?

00:20:35.124 --> 00:20:37.580
Like,<00:20:35.429> uh,<00:20:36.392> do<00:20:36.424> you<00:20:36.488> have<00:20:36.585> any<00:20:36.729> concerns?

00:20:37.933 --> 00:20:40.629
Is<00:20:38.077> there<00:20:38.318> anything<00:20:38.655> about<00:20:38.912> it<00:20:39.040> that<00:20:39.200> you're<00:20:39.361> thinking<00:20:39.602> like,<00:20:39.762> hey,<00:20:39.858> this<00:20:40.099> is<00:20:40.179> crazy?

00:20:41.120 --> 00:20:47.251
I'm<00:20:42.044> not<00:20:42.352> particularly<00:20:43.082> concerned<00:20:44.056> at<00:20:44.623> this<00:20:45.061> existential<00:20:45.840> risk<00:20:46.911> level.

00:20:47.657 --> 00:21:11.417
I<00:20:47.673> don't<00:20:49.003> know<00:20:49.150> why,<00:20:49.504> you<00:20:49.601> know,<00:20:49.891> I'm<00:20:51.147> not<00:20:51.356> an<00:20:51.824> expert<00:20:52.484> on<00:20:52.581> this<00:20:52.806> by<00:20:53.676> any<00:20:53.821> means,<00:20:56.753> but<00:20:57.623> I<00:20:57.720> just<00:20:58.106> find<00:20:58.428> it<00:21:00.200> odd<00:21:00.441> that<00:21:02.953> Kästner,<00:21:03.743> or<00:21:03.920> I<00:21:03.984> just<00:21:04.548> find<00:21:04.709> it<00:21:04.886> odd<00:21:05.047> that<00:21:05.369> humanity<00:21:06.674> as<00:21:06.837> we<00:21:06.934> know,<00:21:07.243> it<00:21:07.470> should<00:21:07.633> be<00:21:07.730> disrupted<00:21:08.380> by<00:21:09.338> a<00:21:09.371> statistical<00:21:11.303> model.

00:21:11.531 --> 00:21:17.686
It's<00:21:11.872> just<00:21:12.116> hard<00:21:12.440> for<00:21:12.554> me<00:21:12.765> to,<00:21:13.724> to<00:21:13.886> grasp,<00:21:14.308> and<00:21:14.389> maybe<00:21:14.519> I<00:21:14.551> just<00:21:14.793> refuse<00:21:15.424> to,<00:21:16.733> to<00:21:16.975> believe<00:21:17.444> it.

00:21:17.929 --> 00:21:41.530
I<00:21:19.949> think<00:21:20.288> that,<00:21:20.757> um,<00:21:22.050> the<00:21:22.955> world<00:21:23.424> of<00:21:23.908> cryptography<00:21:25.877> is<00:21:26.007> kind<00:21:26.184> of<00:21:26.281> a<00:21:26.426> cat<00:21:26.685> and<00:21:26.830> mouse<00:21:27.234> game<00:21:27.540> where,<00:21:28.444> you<00:21:28.541> know,<00:21:28.767> the<00:21:28.913> people<00:21:29.171> that<00:21:29.332> are<00:21:29.413> trying<00:21:29.801> to<00:21:31.173> hack<00:21:31.660> weapon<00:21:32.005> systems<00:21:32.892> or<00:21:33.636> hack<00:21:33.909> banks<00:21:34.374> or<00:21:34.519> hack<00:21:34.840> all<00:21:34.872> of<00:21:34.936> these<00:21:35.241> things,<00:21:35.642> are<00:21:36.444> always<00:21:36.621> trying<00:21:36.925> to<00:21:37.022> improve<00:21:37.567> their,<00:21:39.107> their<00:21:39.589> toolkit<00:21:40.150> and,<00:21:40.872> and<00:21:41.016> take<00:21:41.418> over.

00:21:41.594 --> 00:21:45.637
And<00:21:41.754> then<00:21:42.075> there<00:21:42.637> are<00:21:42.701> always<00:21:43.022> people<00:21:43.343> trying<00:21:43.680> to<00:21:43.920> build<00:21:44.241> better<00:21:44.546> cybersecurity<00:21:45.364> and<00:21:45.509> so<00:21:45.589> on.

00:21:45.701 --> 00:22:00.863
And<00:21:46.808> I<00:21:46.953> just<00:21:47.209> don't<00:21:47.546> see<00:21:47.915> that<00:21:49.038> so<00:21:49.295> far<00:21:49.696> that<00:21:50.081> the<00:21:50.322> AI<00:21:50.659> tools<00:21:51.364> will<00:21:52.167> provide<00:21:52.600> a<00:21:52.632> meaningful<00:21:54.589> improvement<00:21:55.536> on<00:21:56.434> the<00:21:56.514> ability<00:21:56.996> to<00:21:57.220> crack,<00:21:58.504> um,<00:22:00.205> encryption.

00:22:00.928 --> 00:22:03.256
They<00:22:01.008> don't<00:22:01.233> seem<00:22:01.474> to<00:22:01.570> make<00:22:01.875> any<00:22:02.035> progress<00:22:02.357> towards<00:22:02.854> prime.

00:22:03.898 --> 00:22:16.260
So<00:22:04.074> things<00:22:04.540> like<00:22:04.717> a<00:22:04.861> quantum<00:22:05.889> computer<00:22:06.370> or<00:22:06.611> whatever,<00:22:06.868> if<00:22:07.029> that<00:22:07.253> comes<00:22:08.136> online<00:22:08.714> ever,<00:22:09.019> I<00:22:09.100> would<00:22:09.260> be<00:22:09.356> honestly<00:22:09.694> more<00:22:10.946> worried<00:22:11.139> about<00:22:11.524> because<00:22:11.781> it<00:22:11.925> would<00:22:12.150> just<00:22:12.407> break<00:22:12.712> down<00:22:13.274> all<00:22:13.691> our<00:22:14.799> cybersecurity<00:22:15.778> defenses.

00:22:16.340 --> 00:22:20.772
But<00:22:16.501> again,<00:22:17.384> this<00:22:17.625> is<00:22:18.893> just<00:22:19.150> freestyling<00:22:20.531> for<00:22:20.691> me.

00:22:20.836 --> 00:22:21.462
What<00:22:20.948> do<00:22:21.061> you<00:22:21.173> think?

00:22:22.441 --> 00:22:23.035
I<00:22:22.489> don't<00:22:22.682> know.

00:22:23.164 --> 00:22:23.934
I<00:22:23.244> think<00:22:23.389> it's<00:22:23.485> fascinating.

00:22:24.191 --> 00:22:28.028
Yeah,<00:22:24.753> I<00:22:24.785> never<00:22:25.171> understand<00:22:25.636> like,<00:22:26.038> hey,<00:22:26.359> AI<00:22:26.535> is<00:22:26.616> going<00:22:26.760> to<00:22:26.856> kill<00:22:27.097> humanity.

00:22:28.542 --> 00:22:31.143
And<00:22:28.639> then<00:22:28.847> you<00:22:28.944> ask<00:22:29.329> why,<00:22:30.613> and<00:22:30.790> they<00:22:30.903> don't<00:22:31.031> know.

00:22:31.336 --> 00:22:33.696
Like,<00:22:31.529> or<00:22:31.737> how—<00:22:32.942> how<00:22:33.022> is<00:22:33.118> even<00:22:33.279> a<00:22:33.359> better<00:22:33.584> question.

00:22:33.745 --> 00:22:34.852
Like,<00:22:33.921> how<00:22:34.162> is<00:22:34.307> that<00:22:34.403> gonna<00:22:34.547> happen?

00:22:35.382 --> 00:22:36.827
It's<00:22:35.591> like,<00:22:35.752> well,<00:22:35.928> they'll<00:22:36.089> decide<00:22:36.346> to<00:22:36.410> kill<00:22:36.587> someone.

00:22:36.892 --> 00:22:39.991
Can<00:22:37.020> you<00:22:37.132> just<00:22:37.293> pull<00:22:37.454> the<00:22:37.614> plug<00:22:38.963> and<00:22:39.043> then<00:22:39.204> it's<00:22:39.364> like<00:22:39.541> all<00:22:39.846> over?

00:22:40.039 --> 00:22:42.897
I<00:22:40.103> mean,<00:22:40.264> I—<00:22:40.970> yeah,<00:22:41.147> so,<00:22:41.532> um,<00:22:42.576> I<00:22:42.672> don't<00:22:42.817> know.

00:22:43.009 --> 00:22:44.936
I,<00:22:43.057> I'm,<00:22:43.475> I'm<00:22:43.635> super<00:22:43.860> excited<00:22:44.181> about—<00:22:44.342> I<00:22:44.422> think<00:22:44.519> it's<00:22:44.663> crazy.

00:22:45.000 --> 00:22:53.430
I<00:22:45.080> think<00:22:45.241> we're<00:22:45.337> going<00:22:45.434> to<00:22:45.482> be<00:22:45.626> living<00:22:45.883> in<00:22:45.980> a<00:22:46.108> completely<00:22:46.542> different<00:22:46.831> world<00:22:47.007> from<00:22:47.184> a<00:22:47.248> productivity<00:22:48.452> and<00:22:48.613> job<00:22:48.934> standpoint,<00:22:49.560> what<00:22:49.721> we<00:22:49.817> do<00:22:50.042> all<00:22:50.219> day,<00:22:50.459> which<00:22:50.636> is<00:22:50.781> great,<00:22:51.503> which<00:22:51.664> is<00:22:51.744> going<00:22:51.824> to<00:22:51.856> make<00:22:52.145> living<00:22:52.467> in<00:22:52.547> Norway<00:22:53.029> awesome.

00:22:54.885 --> 00:22:58.140
Because<00:22:55.143> yeah,<00:22:55.755> honestly,<00:22:56.255> I<00:22:56.416> think,<00:22:56.658> I<00:22:56.803> think<00:22:56.980> that's<00:22:57.528> actually<00:22:57.786> a<00:22:57.866> big<00:22:58.028> deal.

00:22:58.189 --> 00:23:02.186
I<00:22:58.334> think<00:22:58.431> you'll<00:22:58.592> see<00:22:58.753> migration<00:22:59.301> out<00:22:59.333> of<00:22:59.462> like<00:22:59.639> big<00:22:59.817> cities<00:23:00.848> and<00:23:00.929> like<00:23:01.090> people<00:23:01.396> living<00:23:01.638> wherever<00:23:01.896> they<00:23:01.976> want.

00:23:04.140 --> 00:23:05.237
Totally,<00:23:04.962> totally.

00:23:05.285 --> 00:23:09.770
And,<00:23:05.688> um,<00:23:06.673> it's<00:23:06.834> interesting,<00:23:07.463> um,<00:23:08.028> yeah,<00:23:08.431> it's,<00:23:08.786> it's<00:23:08.996> really<00:23:09.351> interesting.

00:23:09.819 --> 00:23:13.594
And<00:23:09.980> for,<00:23:10.545> for<00:23:10.706> designers,<00:23:11.158> it's<00:23:11.432> mostly<00:23:11.820> a<00:23:11.836> huge<00:23:13.110> win,<00:23:13.352> right?

00:23:13.675 --> 00:23:15.984
Like<00:23:13.772> you<00:23:13.853> can,<00:23:14.498> yeah,<00:23:14.821> you<00:23:14.902> can<00:23:15.064> do<00:23:15.225> so<00:23:15.564> much<00:23:15.855> more.

00:23:16.194 --> 00:23:22.036
You<00:23:16.356> can,<00:23:17.228> um,<00:23:17.712> help<00:23:18.067> get—<00:23:18.600> you<00:23:18.697> can<00:23:18.842> get<00:23:19.004> your<00:23:19.181> ideas<00:23:19.666> to<00:23:19.908> fruition<00:23:20.912> much<00:23:21.152> more<00:23:21.458> easily.

00:23:22.742 --> 00:23:25.985
It,<00:23:23.320> it<00:23:23.400> just<00:23:23.786> amplifies<00:23:24.444> creativity<00:23:25.102> massively.

00:23:26.050 --> 00:23:30.240
And<00:23:26.210> so<00:23:27.093> we're,<00:23:27.655> we're<00:23:27.880> incredibly<00:23:29.116> excited<00:23:29.678> about<00:23:30.064> it.

00:23:30.305 --> 00:23:33.885
And,<00:23:31.091> um,<00:23:32.376> and<00:23:32.456> yeah,<00:23:32.617> we're<00:23:33.034> pretty<00:23:33.179> much<00:23:33.580> all<00:23:33.741> in.

00:23:34.463 --> 00:23:41.367
I<00:23:34.479> think<00:23:34.784> there<00:23:35.346> hasn't<00:23:35.603> been<00:23:35.844> a<00:23:35.860> meeting<00:23:37.193> in<00:23:37.273> the<00:23:37.369> last<00:23:37.771> 6<00:23:38.092> months<00:23:38.477> or<00:23:38.959> so<00:23:39.136> where<00:23:39.216> we<00:23:39.360> haven't<00:23:39.617> spoken<00:23:40.003> about<00:23:41.046> AI.

00:23:41.448 --> 00:23:46.200
And,<00:23:42.250> and<00:23:42.411> I<00:23:42.427> think<00:23:42.668> many<00:23:42.893> companies<00:23:43.374> out<00:23:43.551> there<00:23:43.792> are<00:23:43.872> kind<00:23:44.129> of<00:23:44.258> in,<00:23:45.157> in<00:23:45.301> two<00:23:45.558> camps,<00:23:46.024> right?

00:23:46.441 --> 00:23:47.581
Or<00:23:46.521> people<00:23:46.762> out<00:23:46.907> there<00:23:46.971> are<00:23:47.003> kind<00:23:47.132> of<00:23:47.164> in<00:23:47.308> two<00:23:47.405> camps.

00:23:47.661 --> 00:23:55.850
It's<00:23:47.806> kind<00:23:47.967> of<00:23:48.047> the<00:23:48.207> group<00:23:48.512> that<00:23:48.689> needs<00:23:49.797> convincing<00:23:50.295> that<00:23:50.439> this<00:23:50.600> is<00:23:50.696> real<00:23:51.643> and<00:23:51.820> that<00:23:52.045> it's<00:23:52.205> happening,<00:23:53.345> and<00:23:53.426> then<00:23:53.651> there's<00:23:53.907> the<00:23:54.036> group<00:23:54.229> that<00:23:54.389> is<00:23:54.935> already<00:23:55.256> convinced.

00:23:56.717 --> 00:24:06.207
And<00:23:56.862> I<00:23:56.878> think<00:23:57.103> as<00:23:57.279> an<00:23:57.344> organization,<00:23:58.002> we've<00:23:58.243> been—<00:23:59.768> we<00:23:59.929> quite<00:24:00.314> quickly<00:24:00.715> got<00:24:00.972> to<00:24:01.053> that<00:24:02.401> point<00:24:02.739> where<00:24:03.461> we<00:24:03.718> mostly<00:24:04.168> don't<00:24:04.425> need<00:24:04.585> to<00:24:04.681> be<00:24:05.613> convinced.

00:24:06.416 --> 00:24:16.898
And<00:24:07.138> I<00:24:07.459> hope—<00:24:07.780> I<00:24:07.796> think<00:24:08.503> most<00:24:08.760> of<00:24:08.856> our<00:24:09.242> now<00:24:09.418> 700<00:24:10.044> or<00:24:10.125> so<00:24:11.714> designers<00:24:12.148> and<00:24:12.292> creatives<00:24:13.962> are<00:24:15.166> also<00:24:15.423> convinced<00:24:15.984> of,<00:24:16.305> of<00:24:16.465> the<00:24:16.529> same.

00:24:16.962 --> 00:24:29.969
And,<00:24:17.909> and<00:24:18.005> I<00:24:18.069> think<00:24:18.229> that's<00:24:18.855> just<00:24:19.047> a<00:24:19.111> huge<00:24:19.432> win<00:24:19.657> to<00:24:19.753> get<00:24:19.993> there<00:24:20.234> and<00:24:20.715> just<00:24:20.875> to<00:24:21.020> ensure<00:24:21.212> that<00:24:22.062> all<00:24:22.463> our<00:24:22.704> people<00:24:23.907> use,<00:24:24.548> um,<00:24:25.991> use<00:24:26.408> whichever<00:24:27.114> available<00:24:28.173> tool<00:24:29.135> on<00:24:29.279> a<00:24:29.359> daily<00:24:29.616> basis.

00:24:30.017 --> 00:24:32.839
And<00:24:30.177> so<00:24:31.220> I<00:24:31.284> think<00:24:31.460> we've<00:24:31.605> done<00:24:31.781> a<00:24:31.861> good<00:24:32.102> job<00:24:32.663> there.

00:24:32.984 --> 00:24:35.726
But<00:24:33.786> I<00:24:33.850> mean,<00:24:34.010> let's<00:24:34.251> see,<00:24:34.908> let's<00:24:35.181> see<00:24:35.229> what<00:24:35.389> happens.

00:24:35.790 --> 00:24:37.875
It's<00:24:35.951> like<00:24:36.175> every<00:24:36.432> week<00:24:36.672> now<00:24:36.833> something,<00:24:37.410> something<00:24:37.795> new.

00:24:38.741 --> 00:24:44.691
Yeah,<00:24:38.902> you're<00:24:39.014> in<00:24:39.158> an<00:24:39.303> industry<00:24:39.784> that<00:24:40.056> seems<00:24:40.425> to<00:24:40.521> be<00:24:40.922> disrupted<00:24:41.420> a<00:24:41.548> lot,<00:24:41.869> like<00:24:42.109> things<00:24:42.286> like<00:24:42.446> Canva<00:24:43.007> and<00:24:43.103> Adobe's<00:24:43.569> version<00:24:43.809> of<00:24:43.889> that<00:24:44.050> and<00:24:44.130> all<00:24:44.226> that<00:24:44.370> type<00:24:44.499> of<00:24:44.531> stuff.

00:24:44.996 --> 00:24:52.994
How<00:24:45.093> did<00:24:45.333> you<00:24:45.494> guys<00:24:45.879> respond<00:24:46.458> to,<00:24:47.020> like,<00:24:47.887> Canva<00:24:48.305> seemed<00:24:48.626> like<00:24:48.867> kind<00:24:49.092> of<00:24:49.124> magic<00:24:49.606> for<00:24:49.814> a<00:24:49.895> little<00:24:50.055> while,<00:24:50.473> and<00:24:50.553> then<00:24:50.649> it<00:24:50.714> became<00:24:51.035> like,<00:24:51.212> hey,<00:24:51.292> there's<00:24:51.501> actually<00:24:51.822> like<00:24:51.918> some<00:24:52.143> limits<00:24:52.416> to<00:24:52.545> this<00:24:52.785> thing.

00:24:53.444 --> 00:24:59.258
You<00:24:53.524> can't<00:24:53.765> go<00:24:53.942> as<00:24:54.086> deep<00:24:54.327> as<00:24:54.472> maybe,<00:24:55.034> um,<00:24:55.612> you<00:24:55.757> could<00:24:56.094> like<00:24:56.495> an<00:24:56.640> actual<00:24:56.897> designer<00:24:57.604> who<00:24:57.700> knows<00:24:57.925> how<00:24:57.957> to<00:24:58.085> do<00:24:58.246> this<00:24:58.358> type<00:24:58.519> of<00:24:58.599> stuff,<00:24:58.937> right?

00:24:59.708 --> 00:25:04.429
But<00:25:00.013> how—<00:25:00.430> but<00:25:00.607> it<00:25:00.735> is<00:25:00.912> interesting,<00:25:01.394> like,<00:25:01.635> how<00:25:01.860> often<00:25:02.823> design<00:25:03.401> is<00:25:03.562> being<00:25:03.867> disrupted.

00:25:04.606 --> 00:25:12.521
That<00:25:04.750> would<00:25:04.831> have<00:25:04.927> been—<00:25:05.168> I<00:25:05.248> wouldn't<00:25:05.393> have<00:25:05.554> expected<00:25:06.613> creativity<00:25:07.336> to<00:25:07.497> be<00:25:07.577> the<00:25:07.722> first<00:25:07.979> thing<00:25:08.220> that<00:25:08.444> would<00:25:09.263> be<00:25:09.344> disrupted<00:25:09.970> by<00:25:10.066> AI,<00:25:10.468> but<00:25:10.613> it<00:25:10.645> seems<00:25:10.886> to<00:25:10.950> be<00:25:11.592> going<00:25:11.832> in<00:25:11.912> that<00:25:12.073> direction?

00:25:13.995 --> 00:25:39.251
I<00:25:14.076> mean,<00:25:14.300> I<00:25:14.316> think<00:25:14.556> it's<00:25:14.700> important<00:25:15.918> to<00:25:16.078> bear<00:25:16.239> in<00:25:16.319> mind<00:25:16.559> that<00:25:16.719> a<00:25:16.800> typical<00:25:17.425> design<00:25:17.841> project<00:25:18.306> of,<00:25:18.626> I<00:25:18.642> don't<00:25:18.803> know,<00:25:18.947> 20<00:25:19.347> hours,<00:25:20.229> typically<00:25:20.886> 10<00:25:21.126> to<00:25:21.270> 15<00:25:21.671> hours<00:25:22.825> of<00:25:22.953> that<00:25:23.850> project<00:25:24.347> is<00:25:25.228> even<00:25:25.453> before<00:25:25.997> AI<00:25:26.270> spent<00:25:26.959> on<00:25:27.936> doing<00:25:28.241> research,<00:25:29.378> understanding<00:25:29.939> the<00:25:30.099> problem<00:25:30.420> that<00:25:30.644> you're<00:25:30.724> trying<00:25:31.045> to<00:25:31.125> solve,<00:25:32.086> kind<00:25:32.183> of<00:25:32.247> mapping<00:25:32.663> the<00:25:32.968> competitive<00:25:33.545> landscape,<00:25:34.586> looking<00:25:34.891> at<00:25:35.147> previous<00:25:35.548> projects,<00:25:36.573> and<00:25:36.974> really<00:25:37.230> building<00:25:37.551> that<00:25:38.593> context.

00:25:39.941 --> 00:26:12.354
And,<00:25:40.198> and<00:25:40.262> then<00:25:40.374> a<00:25:40.438> lot<00:25:40.679> of<00:25:40.743> it<00:25:40.856> is,<00:25:41.161> is<00:25:41.321> built<00:25:41.706> on<00:25:42.428> kind<00:25:42.541> of<00:25:42.669> also<00:25:43.231> edit,<00:25:43.728> and,<00:25:44.370> and<00:25:44.531> a<00:25:44.611> lot<00:25:44.771> of<00:25:44.852> time<00:25:45.076> spent<00:25:45.333> on<00:25:45.734> editing<00:25:46.296> and<00:25:46.440> making<00:25:46.761> sure<00:25:47.082> it<00:25:47.243> looks—<00:25:48.302> and<00:25:48.382> so<00:25:49.249> for,<00:25:50.212> um,<00:25:51.014> for<00:25:51.110> that<00:25:51.415> piece<00:25:51.592> in<00:25:51.672> the<00:25:51.752> middle<00:25:52.057> where<00:25:52.154> it's<00:25:52.250> about<00:25:52.555> sketching<00:25:53.277> and<00:25:53.582> doing<00:25:53.903> mood<00:25:54.160> boards<00:25:54.561> and,<00:25:55.106> and<00:25:55.283> all<00:25:55.379> of<00:25:55.459> these<00:25:55.668> things,<00:25:55.925> and<00:25:56.005> obviously<00:25:56.888> a<00:25:56.968> big<00:25:57.128> part<00:25:57.433> of<00:25:57.530> just<00:25:58.075> producing<00:25:59.311> stuff,<00:26:00.402> um,<00:26:01.766> it,<00:26:02.168> it,<00:26:02.424> it's<00:26:02.585> obviously<00:26:03.387> much,<00:26:03.869> much<00:26:04.093> faster,<00:26:04.446> but<00:26:05.235> But<00:26:05.461> I<00:26:05.946> really<00:26:06.543> think<00:26:06.833> of<00:26:06.866> it<00:26:07.075> as<00:26:07.495> creativity<00:26:08.060> being<00:26:08.851> amplified<00:26:10.465> and<00:26:10.885> not<00:26:11.127> as<00:26:11.288> being<00:26:11.692> disrupted.

00:26:12.983 --> 00:26:25.138
I<00:26:13.129> think<00:26:13.371> we'll<00:26:13.629> be<00:26:13.774> able<00:26:13.920> to<00:26:14.097> see<00:26:16.206> the<00:26:16.367> decentralization<00:26:17.897> of<00:26:18.042> creativity<00:26:18.766> to<00:26:18.847> a<00:26:18.863> much<00:26:19.105> greater<00:26:19.507> extent<00:26:19.974> where,<00:26:20.956> you<00:26:21.053> know,<00:26:21.182> you<00:26:21.343> don't<00:26:21.681> need<00:26:21.987> a<00:26:22.084> huge<00:26:22.744> studio<00:26:23.617> in<00:26:23.765> Hollywood<00:26:24.174> to<00:26:24.255> make<00:26:24.517> a<00:26:24.582> compelling<00:26:24.877> film.

00:26:27.420 --> 00:26:37.534
You<00:26:27.517> don't<00:26:29.004> need<00:26:29.347> a<00:26:29.494> ton<00:26:29.739> of<00:26:29.902> people<00:26:30.816> You<00:26:30.912> can<00:26:31.057> have<00:26:31.234> small<00:26:33.307> groups<00:26:33.870> producing<00:26:34.368> something<00:26:35.654> really<00:26:35.895> great<00:26:36.361> almost<00:26:37.020> by<00:26:37.181> themselves.

00:26:37.583 --> 00:26:49.795
And<00:26:37.727> so<00:26:38.868> maybe<00:26:39.511> in<00:26:39.560> the<00:26:39.673> future,<00:26:41.029> creating<00:26:41.368> movies<00:26:41.691> will<00:26:41.852> be<00:26:41.949> more<00:26:43.870> like<00:26:44.516> writing<00:26:44.855> a<00:26:44.919> book,<00:26:45.226> you<00:26:45.258> know,<00:26:45.468> it's<00:26:45.565> just<00:26:45.888> one<00:26:46.857> person,<00:26:48.180> you<00:26:48.214> know,<00:26:48.469> being<00:26:48.707> able<00:26:48.877> to<00:26:49.047> do<00:26:49.642> everything.

00:26:51.192 --> 00:27:05.580
But<00:26:51.353> I<00:26:51.433> think<00:26:51.611> still,<00:26:54.737> I<00:26:54.817> just<00:26:55.204> still<00:26:55.768> haven't<00:26:56.106> seen<00:26:57.547> AI<00:26:58.109> kind<00:26:58.270> of<00:26:58.607> by<00:26:58.993> itself<00:27:00.519> moving<00:27:01.001> the<00:27:01.033> needle<00:27:01.804> on,<00:27:02.463> on<00:27:02.704> culture<00:27:03.411> per<00:27:03.524> se,<00:27:03.748> like<00:27:04.712> by<00:27:04.953> itself.

00:27:06.560 --> 00:27:11.428
I<00:27:06.624> haven't<00:27:07.074> seen<00:27:07.219> it<00:27:07.428> kind<00:27:07.604> of<00:27:07.749> come<00:27:07.910> up<00:27:08.086> with<00:27:08.327> anything<00:27:10.175> that,<00:27:10.721> that<00:27:10.834> is<00:27:11.059> interesting.

00:27:11.846 --> 00:27:23.028
Um,<00:27:12.730> and<00:27:12.826> so<00:27:14.192> it<00:27:14.336> is<00:27:14.497> to<00:27:14.593> me<00:27:14.754> just<00:27:15.332> ultimately<00:27:15.798> a<00:27:15.814> force<00:27:16.280> multiplier<00:27:16.842> on,<00:27:17.501> on<00:27:17.646> human<00:27:18.031> creativity,<00:27:19.574> allowing<00:27:19.895> you<00:27:20.056> to<00:27:20.216> do<00:27:21.004> all<00:27:21.084> the<00:27:21.180> tasks<00:27:22.610> faster.

00:27:23.076 --> 00:27:29.795
And<00:27:23.189> so<00:27:23.430> we're<00:27:23.880> Yeah,<00:27:24.075> we're<00:27:24.222> just<00:27:24.417> incredibly<00:27:25.786> optimistic,<00:27:26.340> and<00:27:26.422> as<00:27:26.585> I<00:27:26.617> said,<00:27:26.911> I<00:27:26.943> just<00:27:27.253> live<00:27:27.416> in<00:27:27.498> denial<00:27:28.312> about<00:27:28.622> the<00:27:28.704> existential<00:27:29.469> aspects.

00:27:30.920 --> 00:27:32.067
That's<00:27:31.264> all<00:27:31.362> you<00:27:31.444> can<00:27:31.608> do<00:27:31.837> anyways.

00:27:32.198 --> 00:27:33.148
That's<00:27:32.345> all<00:27:32.509> any<00:27:32.673> of<00:27:32.755> us<00:27:32.919> can<00:27:33.066> do.

00:27:35.263 --> 00:27:38.857
Uh,<00:27:35.283> I<00:27:35.363> wonder<00:27:35.622> how<00:27:35.849> you<00:27:36.350> manage<00:27:37.078> and<00:27:37.223> maintain<00:27:37.789> culture<00:27:38.355> remotely.

00:27:38.938 --> 00:27:46.668
How<00:27:39.099> do<00:27:39.164> you<00:27:39.326> think<00:27:39.568> about<00:27:40.555> managing<00:27:41.121> remote<00:27:41.525> teams,<00:27:42.027> a<00:27:42.091> remote<00:27:42.480> workforce,<00:27:43.913> and<00:27:43.962> maintain<00:27:44.318> the<00:27:44.480> culture<00:27:44.885> of<00:27:45.064> Superside<00:27:45.939> while<00:27:46.165> you<00:27:46.263> do<00:27:46.425> that?

00:27:48.515 --> 00:28:12.441
Yeah,<00:27:48.774> I<00:27:48.937> think<00:27:49.163> for<00:27:49.406> us<00:27:49.812> it's<00:27:51.304> It's,<00:27:53.176> it's<00:27:53.401> just<00:27:54.305> important<00:27:55.112> to<00:27:56.709> realize<00:27:57.290> that<00:27:58.823> good<00:27:59.081> management<00:28:01.774> is<00:28:02.017> even<00:28:02.196> more<00:28:02.600> important<00:28:03.167> in<00:28:03.264> a<00:28:03.329> remote<00:28:03.718> context,<00:28:04.204> and<00:28:05.030> bad<00:28:05.289> management<00:28:08.252> just<00:28:08.528> makes<00:28:09.159> it<00:28:09.645> extremely<00:28:10.276> terrible<00:28:10.922> to<00:28:11.084> work<00:28:11.342> in,<00:28:11.585> in<00:28:11.665> a<00:28:11.811> remote<00:28:12.150> company.

00:28:12.538 --> 00:28:20.165
And<00:28:12.634> so<00:28:13.507> companies<00:28:14.007> that<00:28:16.277> you<00:28:16.389> know,<00:28:16.534> during<00:28:16.855> COVID<00:28:17.241> had<00:28:17.498> to<00:28:17.594> go<00:28:17.739> remote<00:28:18.221> and<00:28:19.409> had<00:28:19.570> bad<00:28:19.763> management.

00:28:20.293 --> 00:28:33.178
Like,<00:28:21.193> bad<00:28:21.354> management<00:28:21.755> to<00:28:21.835> me<00:28:21.996> would<00:28:22.141> be<00:28:22.301> there's<00:28:22.558> no<00:28:23.426> kind<00:28:23.522> of<00:28:23.667> clear<00:28:23.924> objective,<00:28:24.711> roles<00:28:25.193> aren't<00:28:25.563> clear,<00:28:27.057> there<00:28:27.234> isn't<00:28:27.619> any<00:28:27.860> kind<00:28:28.021> of<00:28:28.182> good<00:28:28.728> tracking<00:28:29.226> of<00:28:29.467> KPIs<00:28:30.511> in<00:28:30.672> place,<00:28:31.058> there's<00:28:31.234> no<00:28:31.395> good<00:28:31.556> systems<00:28:32.054> for<00:28:32.841> feedback.

00:28:33.243 --> 00:28:37.837
This<00:28:33.484> pretty<00:28:33.725> basic,<00:28:35.090> like,<00:28:35.251> good<00:28:35.476> management<00:28:36.215> practices<00:28:36.922> aren't<00:28:37.500> in<00:28:37.580> place.

00:28:37.982 --> 00:28:42.561
And<00:28:38.609> when<00:28:38.705> those<00:28:38.930> companies<00:28:39.412> went<00:28:40.071> remote,<00:28:40.697> everyone<00:28:41.019> was<00:28:41.179> just<00:28:41.340> like,<00:28:41.597> this<00:28:41.774> is<00:28:42.063> terrible.

00:28:42.946 --> 00:28:47.497
Or<00:28:43.347> maybe<00:28:43.603> some<00:28:43.763> of<00:28:43.843> them<00:28:43.987> said,<00:28:44.148> this<00:28:44.324> is<00:28:44.404> amazing<00:28:44.725> because<00:28:45.029> now<00:28:45.125> I<00:28:45.205> don't<00:28:45.350> have<00:28:45.462> to<00:28:45.606> do<00:28:46.471> anything.

00:28:47.769 --> 00:28:56.070
But<00:28:47.930> for<00:28:48.074> the<00:28:48.154> company<00:28:48.458> and<00:28:48.506> for<00:28:48.651> productivity,<00:28:50.814> I<00:28:50.894> think<00:28:51.775> bad<00:28:52.016> management<00:28:52.657> is<00:28:53.634> just<00:28:53.859> going<00:28:53.971> to<00:28:54.019> be<00:28:54.484> really<00:28:54.660> terrible<00:28:55.221> in<00:28:55.317> a<00:28:55.381> remote<00:28:55.766> context.

00:28:56.166 --> 00:29:04.836
And<00:28:56.262> so<00:28:57.080> it<00:28:57.288> creates<00:28:57.624> this<00:28:57.849> imperative<00:28:58.570> to<00:28:59.852> really<00:29:00.028> invest<00:29:00.829> and<00:29:01.054> focus<00:29:01.615> on<00:29:02.368> that<00:29:02.993> and<00:29:03.137> focus<00:29:04.098> on<00:29:04.195> the<00:29:04.339> basics.

00:29:04.980 --> 00:29:08.393
And<00:29:05.653> so<00:29:05.797> that's<00:29:06.021> what<00:29:06.262> we're<00:29:07.239> really<00:29:07.544> trying<00:29:08.024> to<00:29:08.185> do.

00:29:09.242 --> 00:29:10.011
Mostly.

00:29:10.508 --> 00:29:17.029
Um,<00:29:11.710> and,<00:29:12.110> um,<00:29:13.633> and,<00:29:13.793> and<00:29:13.889> I<00:29:13.969> think<00:29:14.129> we've<00:29:14.274> done<00:29:14.450> a<00:29:14.530> good,<00:29:15.571> reasonably<00:29:15.972> good<00:29:16.517> job<00:29:16.757> on<00:29:16.837> that.

00:29:17.094 --> 00:29:28.005
And<00:29:17.158> then<00:29:17.815> the<00:29:17.895> second<00:29:18.199> thing<00:29:18.760> I<00:29:18.920> would<00:29:19.401> say<00:29:19.898> is,<00:29:20.875> is<00:29:21.003> also<00:29:21.195> around<00:29:22.221> kind<00:29:22.365> of<00:29:22.846> who<00:29:23.102> you<00:29:23.984> bring<00:29:24.224> on<00:29:24.448> to<00:29:24.608> the<00:29:24.785> team<00:29:25.169> and,<00:29:25.426> and,<00:29:25.970> and<00:29:26.691> how<00:29:27.012> you<00:29:27.268> prioritize<00:29:27.813> that.

00:29:28.069 --> 00:29:40.154
We've<00:29:28.294> been<00:29:29.656> really<00:29:30.857> concerned<00:29:31.274> with<00:29:31.418> hiring<00:29:31.915> based<00:29:32.316> on,<00:29:32.812> on<00:29:33.037> values<00:29:33.581> and<00:29:34.142> trying<00:29:34.399> to<00:29:34.479> hire<00:29:34.783> people<00:29:35.039> that<00:29:35.200> share<00:29:35.440> the<00:29:35.520> values<00:29:35.921> that<00:29:36.884> that<00:29:37.126> we<00:29:37.287> have.

00:29:40.670 --> 00:29:45.926
And<00:29:41.056> I<00:29:41.073> think,<00:29:41.491> again,<00:29:42.265> that<00:29:42.426> is<00:29:42.667> also<00:29:42.844> even<00:29:43.150> more<00:29:43.972> important<00:29:44.858> in<00:29:45.003> the<00:29:45.083> remote<00:29:45.422> context.

00:29:45.975 --> 00:29:51.341
So<00:29:46.869> I<00:29:46.950> would<00:29:47.064> say<00:29:47.227> those<00:29:47.845> two<00:29:48.430> things<00:29:49.146> are<00:29:49.227> the<00:29:49.308> most<00:29:49.568> important<00:29:50.056> for<00:29:51.178> us.

00:29:52.344 --> 00:29:57.781
And<00:29:52.747> beyond<00:29:52.989> that,<00:29:53.376> we're<00:29:53.731> not<00:29:53.941> doing<00:29:54.183> anything<00:29:55.555> massively<00:29:56.055> different<00:29:56.442> from<00:29:56.942> any<00:29:57.184> other<00:29:57.410> companies.

00:29:57.830 --> 00:30:04.400
You<00:29:57.926> know,<00:29:58.055> there<00:29:58.217> are<00:29:58.943> remote<00:29:59.282> companies<00:29:59.750> out<00:29:59.846> there<00:29:59.992> that<00:30:00.895> basically<00:30:01.282> go<00:30:01.605> all<00:30:01.686> in<00:30:01.940> on<00:30:02.977> on<00:30:03.284> async,<00:30:03.640> for<00:30:03.866> example.

00:30:05.160 --> 00:30:08.361
They're<00:30:05.240> like<00:30:05.402> hardcore<00:30:06.291> against,<00:30:06.841> you<00:30:06.938> know,<00:30:07.504> doing<00:30:07.746> meetings.

00:30:09.929 --> 00:30:14.741
And<00:30:10.236> we're<00:30:10.414> not<00:30:10.883> really<00:30:11.158> extremist<00:30:11.869> on<00:30:13.902> any<00:30:14.112> of<00:30:14.209> those<00:30:14.451> things.

00:30:15.661 --> 00:30:20.145
It's<00:30:15.903> important<00:30:16.241> for<00:30:16.370> us<00:30:16.548> to<00:30:16.709> realize<00:30:17.112> there<00:30:17.338> are<00:30:17.516> pros<00:30:17.758> and<00:30:17.903> cons<00:30:19.451> to<00:30:19.613> working<00:30:20.000> remotely.

00:30:21.756 --> 00:30:24.116
It's<00:30:21.853> impossible<00:30:22.984> to<00:30:23.130> do<00:30:23.227> it<00:30:23.307> in<00:30:23.453> any<00:30:23.631> other<00:30:23.857> way.

00:30:25.312 --> 00:30:33.085
For<00:30:25.474> us<00:30:25.571> trying<00:30:25.878> to<00:30:25.975> build<00:30:27.349> this<00:30:27.753> global<00:30:28.076> company<00:30:28.464> and<00:30:28.561> trying<00:30:28.804> to<00:30:28.884> achieve<00:30:29.305> our<00:30:29.928> our<00:30:30.008> mission<00:30:30.713> of<00:30:30.793> creating<00:30:31.194> more<00:30:31.354> equal<00:30:32.556> opportunities.

00:30:33.197 --> 00:30:38.004
So,<00:30:33.982> um,<00:30:34.399> first<00:30:34.639> we<00:30:34.719> just<00:30:34.863> have<00:30:35.040> to<00:30:35.184> try<00:30:35.440> to<00:30:35.569> make,<00:30:36.001> um,<00:30:36.883> make<00:30:37.507> the<00:30:37.588> most<00:30:37.860> of<00:30:37.924> it.

00:30:39.270 --> 00:30:39.735
I<00:30:39.286> like<00:30:39.527> that.

00:30:40.328 --> 00:30:46.994
Hey,<00:30:40.712> uh,<00:30:41.033> Frederick,<00:30:41.353> thank<00:30:41.514> you<00:30:41.546> so<00:30:41.690> much<00:30:41.930> for<00:30:42.074> taking<00:30:42.267> the<00:30:42.395> time,<00:30:42.731> seriously,<00:30:43.437> and<00:30:43.933> congratulations<00:30:44.670> on<00:30:44.815> everything<00:30:45.135> you've<00:30:45.359> built<00:30:45.840> with,<00:30:46.081> with<00:30:46.193> Superside.

00:30:47.042 --> 00:30:49.990
And,<00:30:47.763> um,<00:30:48.260> I<00:30:48.420> end<00:30:48.644> every<00:30:48.885> interview<00:30:49.093> with<00:30:49.221> the<00:30:49.317> same<00:30:49.686> question.

00:30:50.808 --> 00:30:55.839
Um,<00:30:51.128> at<00:30:51.208> CEO.com,<00:30:51.849> we<00:30:52.026> believe<00:30:52.250> chances<00:30:52.811> that<00:30:52.907> are<00:30:53.067> given<00:30:53.388> are<00:30:53.548> just<00:30:53.788> as<00:30:53.868> important<00:30:54.173> as<00:30:54.333> the<00:30:54.429> chances<00:30:54.814> we<00:30:54.910> take<00:30:55.134> on<00:30:55.214> ourselves.

00:30:56.420 --> 00:31:05.670
And<00:30:56.500> I<00:30:56.662> wonder<00:30:57.388> if<00:30:58.679> there<00:30:59.083> is<00:30:59.325> someone,<00:30:59.809> or<00:30:59.970> you<00:31:00.067> can<00:31:00.293> think<00:31:00.470> back<00:31:00.858> like<00:31:01.035> in<00:31:01.116> your<00:31:01.423> life,<00:31:01.761> on<00:31:01.842> like<00:31:02.004> someone<00:31:02.229> who<00:31:02.407> gave<00:31:02.794> you<00:31:02.972> a<00:31:03.052> chance<00:31:04.101> that<00:31:04.344> led<00:31:04.650> you<00:31:04.828> to<00:31:04.973> where<00:31:05.215> you<00:31:05.313> are<00:31:05.483> today.

00:31:08.600 --> 00:31:09.949
Um,<00:31:08.937> yeah,<00:31:09.258> great<00:31:09.580> question.

00:31:10.223 --> 00:31:20.532
Um,<00:31:11.107> and<00:31:11.187> I<00:31:11.203> think<00:31:11.428> for<00:31:11.589> us<00:31:12.007> it's,<00:31:12.408> um,<00:31:13.935> it's<00:31:14.401> really<00:31:14.819> kind<00:31:15.060> of<00:31:16.041> Sam<00:31:16.410> Altman,<00:31:16.973> who<00:31:17.149> is<00:31:17.374> now<00:31:17.616> obviously<00:31:18.044> gone<00:31:18.209> on<00:31:18.687> to<00:31:18.786> great<00:31:19.115> fame<00:31:19.445> of<00:31:19.774> OpenAI.

00:31:21.789 --> 00:31:37.758
Just<00:31:22.032> during<00:31:22.356> our<00:31:22.777> Y<00:31:23.003> Combinator<00:31:26.014> period<00:31:26.742> in<00:31:26.823> the<00:31:26.904> very<00:31:27.163> early<00:31:27.244> days<00:31:27.487> of<00:31:27.551> the<00:31:27.632> company,<00:31:28.037> just<00:31:28.344> kind<00:31:28.506> of<00:31:29.736> coming<00:31:29.979> one<00:31:30.141> day<00:31:30.190> and<00:31:30.254> say,<00:31:30.788> "I<00:31:30.933> want<00:31:31.257> to<00:31:31.580> just<00:31:32.227> invest<00:31:32.632> your<00:31:32.729> whole<00:31:33.068> seed<00:31:33.521> round."<00:31:35.057> And<00:31:35.154> then<00:31:36.206> we're<00:31:36.303> like,<00:31:36.448> "Wow,<00:31:36.772> that's<00:31:37.257> incredible.

00:31:37.888 --> 00:31:45.602
Yeah,<00:31:37.968> of<00:31:38.227> course<00:31:38.939> you<00:31:39.117> can<00:31:39.230> do<00:31:39.359> that."<00:31:39.602> And<00:31:40.087> then<00:31:40.136> very<00:31:40.249> quickly,<00:31:40.572> he<00:31:40.799> was<00:31:40.960> already<00:31:41.527> pretty<00:31:41.769> famous<00:31:42.109> by<00:31:42.659> then<00:31:43.241> being<00:31:43.484> kind<00:31:43.629> of<00:31:43.710> Y<00:31:43.888> Combinator<00:31:44.454> president<00:31:45.182> and<00:31:45.263> everything.

00:31:45.667 --> 00:31:52.830
And<00:31:46.314> very<00:31:46.540> quickly<00:31:46.799> kind<00:31:47.026> of<00:31:47.107> the<00:31:47.187> whole<00:31:47.430> round<00:31:47.770> came<00:31:48.400> together<00:31:48.805> and<00:31:49.357> And<00:31:49.601> it<00:31:49.764> just<00:31:50.156> has<00:31:50.352> given<00:31:50.661> us,<00:31:51.134> I<00:31:51.232> think,<00:31:51.460> a<00:31:51.477> huge<00:31:52.439> boost.

00:31:54.932 --> 00:31:57.863
And<00:31:55.337> we<00:31:55.482> asked<00:31:55.725> sort<00:31:55.887> of,<00:31:56.211> why<00:31:57.118> do<00:31:57.264> you<00:31:57.345> want<00:31:57.523> to<00:31:57.604> invest?

00:31:57.912 --> 00:31:59.563
You've<00:31:58.009> seen<00:31:58.252> us<00:31:58.414> like<00:31:58.656> 10<00:31:58.883> times<00:31:59.288> or<00:31:59.385> whatever.

00:32:00.240 --> 00:32:02.470
But<00:32:00.417> he's<00:32:00.514> just<00:32:00.676> like,<00:32:00.854> okay,<00:32:01.080> I<00:32:01.161> believe<00:32:01.468> work<00:32:02.050> is<00:32:02.131> huge.

00:32:03.182 --> 00:32:04.992
I<00:32:03.262> believe<00:32:03.505> services<00:32:04.135> should<00:32:04.378> be<00:32:04.556> disrupted.

00:32:05.041 --> 00:32:06.512
And<00:32:05.121> you<00:32:05.283> guys<00:32:05.445> seem<00:32:05.687> like<00:32:06.010> smart<00:32:06.398> guys.

00:32:06.576 --> 00:32:08.484
You<00:32:06.722> can<00:32:06.819> probably<00:32:07.934> figure<00:32:08.193> it<00:32:08.338> out.

00:32:08.532 --> 00:32:11.929
And<00:32:08.662> then<00:32:08.839> we'll<00:32:09.405> just<00:32:09.631> try<00:32:09.809> to<00:32:09.971> do<00:32:10.020> our<00:32:10.133> best<00:32:11.104> to<00:32:11.250> figure<00:32:11.508> it<00:32:11.654> out.

00:32:12.722 --> 00:32:13.920
But<00:32:12.868> that<00:32:13.030> meant<00:32:13.224> a<00:32:13.289> lot<00:32:13.612> to<00:32:13.758> us.

00:32:14.017 --> 00:32:24.035
And<00:32:14.357> it<00:32:14.486> was<00:32:14.648> the<00:32:14.729> first<00:32:14.988> time<00:32:15.766> someone<00:32:16.022> took<00:32:16.583> a<00:32:16.727> chance<00:32:17.064> on<00:32:17.208> us<00:32:17.705> in<00:32:17.865> a<00:32:17.945> way<00:32:18.266> and<00:32:18.506> took<00:32:18.682> a<00:32:18.747> chance<00:32:19.067> of<00:32:19.147> us<00:32:19.371> with,<00:32:20.493> uh,<00:32:21.391> in<00:32:21.535> the<00:32:21.567> sense<00:32:21.855> of<00:32:21.935> investing<00:32:22.576> a<00:32:22.689> lot<00:32:22.913> of<00:32:22.993> their<00:32:23.137> own,<00:32:23.618> their<00:32:23.714> own<00:32:23.810> money.

00:32:24.115 --> 00:32:27.993
So,<00:32:25.301> um,<00:32:25.958> so<00:32:26.118> yeah,<00:32:26.503> I'm<00:32:26.823> gonna<00:32:26.999> say,<00:32:27.336> I'm<00:32:27.544> gonna<00:32:27.704> say<00:32:27.817> that.

00:32:28.682 --> 00:32:30.829
Yeah,<00:32:28.922> Sam<00:32:29.307> Altman,<00:32:29.643> man,<00:32:29.884> that,<00:32:30.108> that's<00:32:30.300> incredible.

00:32:31.470 --> 00:32:34.018
Uh,<00:32:32.191> hey,<00:32:32.528> Fredrik,<00:32:32.912> thank<00:32:33.073> you<00:32:33.105> so<00:32:33.249> much<00:32:33.473> for<00:32:33.553> coming<00:32:33.810> on.
